[Start ID. A redraw of the official icons of the ten named slugcats from Rain World, arranged in two rows: Survivor, Monk, Hunter, Nightcat, and Gourmand in the first, Artificer, Rivulet, Spearmaster, Saint and Enot/Inv in the second. Each is drawn in roughly the same pose as in the original art and fitted with speculative interpretations of their biology, and the second image is a “dead” version of this. For example, all ten have slug-like rhinophores in place of ears, cuttlefish-like colorful eyes with strangely-shaped pupils, cephalopod-like beak "teeth", expressive barbels or oral tentacles at the corners of mouths, spiny radulas, and the frilly mantle fringes of sea slugs, though otherwise their faces are squishy, simple and mammalian-shaped.

Cream-colored Survivor and yellow Monk both share triangular, bicolored spots matching their eyes (which are tan and brown, and two shades of blue, respectively), small, bumpy fringes, and relatively neutral looks on their faces. Defensive-looking Hunter is mostly a dull orange-pink, though their blobby fringe is a more violent red and their back is purple and marred with lumps. Nightcat is navy blue and flecked with dots of yellow and teal, their rolled rhinophores are a lighter blue, and their shading fractures into stars in some places. Gourmand is almost uniformly tan, their wide, very ruffly white mantle fringe bordered by a spray of white spots, and their beak sticks out from either corner of their smile. Primarily red Artificer, snarling, has yellow markings of multiple sorts, a prominent yellow dewlap and their characteristic dark scar taking out a chunk of its face. Rivulet is a darker blue than usual, with long barbels, red gills and rings, countershading, and a cheerful expression, sticking out their radula. Spearmaster is purple with orange accents, eyes and spots, a large fringe and spines down their back. Saint’s green caryophyllidia are marked by small, yellow diamonds, and their long, thin radula extends far below them. Enot is decorated with mottled red stripes, blue patches, yellow stars, and an uneven and almost cartoonish imitation of blush, though generally the same deep blue as Nightcat, a passive or almost slightly smug look on their face and their rolled rhinophores out to either side.

In the second image, nine of the slugcats’ eyes are crossed out, indicating that these are death icons. They look fairly the same, with mostly expression differences. Survivor is caught in the beginning of a threat display, a karma flower sprouts from Monk’s side, Hunter is burdened with overgrowing, purple and blue rot, Nightcat’s rhinophores are pinned back, and Gourmand looks mildly disheartened. For the final row, Artificer bites its radula between small plumes of smoke, Rivulet drops their expression, Spearmaster looks very startled, Saint looks almost entirely the same besides half-open eyes and their markings greater in number, and Enot grins confusedly. Design notes and shout-outs under cut! :]

The following people are some of those who’ve inspired my designs most since I started this eight months ago (or just inspired me to get a little weirder with slugcat biology), among many others for sure, and I thank them for it–but this is simply to bring attention to artists I find cool, and in no way an obligation to interact or anything :]

Survivor: Surprisingly the hardest to pin down the colors for, since nothing with its sibling's palette seemed to match up right (I did have to add in a little blue somewhere for Monk, the beginning of making it clear how much I’m simply going based off of vibes for the colors of scug innards). I consider them, Monk and Gourmand to be part of the same gene pool of slugcats, and even possibly the same colony even if the latter isn't really related, so took a bit of Gourmand's coloring and fit them in with their inspiration: Goniobranchus verrieri. They serve as a bit of an introduction to my ideas of scug traits (i find it really fun how many people have thought to add so many silly sluglike fixtures of biology completely independent of me, buuut here I’m mostly talking about species variation), and like in-game they’re pretty average! They, Monk and Hunter have a couple scars sourced from a piece of Joar's concept art that I'm failing to find, those across the bridge of the nose, under the eyes, and across the rhinophores, respectively, and my Survivor interpretation features many on the back of the neck, as a result of survived lizard bites.

Monk: Their coloring is primarily based off the fact that I associate them with blue fruits, honestly, a bit because I was compelled to establish a familiarity with Rivulet, and lastly inspired by the spots of Goniobranchus kuniei (and geminus, less important to me as one of my characters is a kuniei instead, but more fitting). Between the yellow + blue and the circular marking in the center of their face, they’re meant to bear a little resemblance to an iterator that shares similarities with the characterization I’ve given them, and similar coding of her sibling can be seen on Survivor’s markings around the eyes. As both a “default” slugcat and one whose campaign I haven’t played, though, I can’t say I have much more to point out about em.

Hunter: The whole rot thing made for a really fun time drawing them, and while the color change on their back is a result of this, it’s also an excuse to relate them to Babakina festiva, arguably my favorite sea slug (mostly for sentimental purposes). And to Spearmaster, a fellow messenger slugcat, and it serves as a gradient between Hunter’s pink and the “traditional” color of Rot seen in the DLLs. Aside from their affliction, they’d actually be the plainest in terms of design, as they don’t have any patterns or quirks of body type, just the red + purple and strange lumps + possible malnutrition. I can’t remember if NSH had created them in particular or just...caught + released or something, but it probably wouldn’t be strange for a lab-grown slugcat to be simple like that.

Gourmand: Like the two above, they’re rather plain in terms of coloring and adaptation, and like the two above, I find that fun. I decided it would be nice to avert the “all slugcats being of the same body type, and Gourmand’s out of place as the exception” thing by just...adding more fat to all of them, really. I did want to emphasize their sheer bulk even so, both fat and muscular (not like I couldn’t have still gone further with it, of course, but slugcat anatomy can be a little obfuscating sometimes, and they were intended to look rather plush considering personal size headcanons and therefore the lack of proper gravity), and the thick and flounced mantle looked like a good addition, as per their sea slug Glossodoris hikuerensis. Unlike Survivor and Monk, I didn’t attempt to hold their resemblance to any particular other character (which means a little less to balance out the “default gene pool” thing), so those are all the design notes I have for em.

Artificer: The second slugcat I’ve ever played, or finished the campaign of, my favorite for at least a long time, and the first thing I did was give them yellow accents, the shape of which have troubled me slightly (not quite like the spots or stripes of the others). They’re both a little more appealing and more explosive-looking to me, and considering how early on I played Arti, actually present in some of my older art. It does give them a little resemblance to Saint (completely intentional, two slugcats with strange relations to karma), as well as the fact that its radula is green for familiarity with one of its children (at some point it was going to have all-green markings, even!). I’m generous with their scars, partly because it was fun to overemphasize the one on their face and partly because it does seem like a reckless slugcat, on top of the dangers of its explosive abilities–I’ll probably just keep adding more forever. Mostly-red sea slugs aren’t too common, but Hexabranchus sanguineus works for sure. The ridged, yellow dewlap can expand for combustion purposes, or something along those lines. Arti’s where I began experimenting with a lot of the mildly-offkilter features seen in my interpretation of slugcats, as they’ve once again been a favorite from the start.

Rivulet: I've obviously given other slugcats spots, deeply enjoy the bubbly-soda markings of other peoples' slugcats, and thought seal riv would be cute. Despite not too closely resembling it, they've been government-assigned Hypselodoris bennetti, for color reasons and for a couple sentimental ones. Originally, the colors of every scug were meant to match up with the custom colors I gave them at the beginning of their campaigns, (though Arti, Gourm and Spearmy are the only three who actually apply here, since I've only played through half the slugcats: I gave arti the yellow as mentioned above, gourm brown eyes and spearmy light pink spears, furthered by the outskirts pearl accompanying me and that palette all the way to moon. Tolerance training for eternity in hell cause I already knew about the maroon pearl quest). I initially gave them the colors of the bi flag for fun... but with the limited palette of this image, I was left without pink for a while and decided to see how they'd look in red. I then realized how they now wonderfully matched Moon, and besides, red's a sort of camouflage in deep water! As a side-note, the difference between their eyes and those of others always bothered me a little for anatomical purposes, and the cephalopod eyes were probably influenced by this!

Spearmaster: Inspired as much as possible by @notyourfunnyman ’s wonderful spearmy: designed in a way that helps it fit in with scavengers, at least between the long sensory tentacles, big ruff, back spines and slightly thin/distended anatomy, a form of defensive mimicry. I always had annulate rhinophores in mind, for a little diversity sure, but mostly because the shape reminds me of radio antennae and communication towers (seems fitting for the comms array and being a messenger slugcat)! I started searching for a real-life slug to give them just by looking up their rhinophore shape...and was met immediately and coincidentally with annulate-topped nudibranchs that fit them more perfectly than I could've imagined: Flabellina and surrounding clades, I think Paraflabellina ischitana works very nicely. The orange was completely unplanned, but there wasn’t a place for light pink among the other slugcats’ palettes, and importantly it likens them to both Hunter and Seven Red Suns a little more.

Saint: I am very much a non-furred slugcat enjoyer, with respect to those who aren’t, so figuring out the only visibly furred slugcat was an interesting challenge. I’ve decided that they likely have other, milder adaptations for help in the cold, mainly just more efficient fat storage, and what looks vaguely like fur is instead a bunch of tubercles (called caryophillia, for the second reminder out of three). Their inspiration doesn’t have these, however, Miamira sinuata’s numerous yellow and blue spots (not to mention...whatever’s going on with that shape) and general effect of being the only really green nudibranch I could find were probably perfect for a strange green echo. Not pictured, but their beak-teeth are tiny and flat to make a surface for grinding soft food against with the lack of a functioning radula, which is tipped with a specialized spiny “grapple-hook” for better traction/grip (not to mention the numerous little teeth running down the whole thing).

(Best part of hiding this under a readmore means edits will be seen by all reblogs, I'm mostly sure, because I completely forgot to mention! The spots on their forehead are simple eyes. Their camera eyes appear closed in-game, I like to believe their complex eyesight is rather poor anyways or otherwise reason that they aren't seeing out of those, and while this was far from her REASON for attunement with the world, it does help compensate for mainly viewing it through a canvas of simple light and dark. This, and the fact that their swapped-out "fur" is not only to commit to a lack of hairs but contributes to sensory input!)

Nightcat/Enot: I guess you could say I found the “these two are technically the same person” compelling. (E.g. similar colors, both very strange and enigmatic, and Enot/Inv/Sofanthiel’s remark during the dating sim about getting removed from Arena Mode.) I doubt they’re the only two slugcats in their body, considering humans with DID tend to have more than a few (and I find it very funny that a slugcat bearing resemblance to Nightcat appears in Gourmand’s ending. They’re allowed in the colony and Enot isn’t </3), and I have to credit @faelingdraws ’s art for being what convinced me on it! Their design inspirations come down to trying to balance a few different ideas: making the patterns and palettes of both look oddly similar (special mention to the stars, since those are fun to draw), basing them off of Felimare sechurana and juliae respectively, using blocks of color with the same placement as in Enot’s official art, and specifically making Enot look...biologically reasonable and imperfect, whilst also clearly trying to imitate human displays of emotion (what with...the eyes and blush on that one piece of official art).

Lastly, here’s just a lineup with notes on body shape and size. Most of the nicknames (existing to give a little more space, that’s all) are obvious, and while I can’t remember why I shortened Nightcat to Nox, it is in honor of my friend by the same nickname :]

“How much longer are you going to keep this up, dude? She’s been glued to your side since that dumb bet. Weren’t you gonna ditch her like forever ago?”

Time froze as you heard Vernon utter those words to your best friend… or so you thought. 

“Shit, Vernon! Be quiet before she hears you!” Seungkwan hissed in return, which was followed by a dull sound and then a shriek from Vernon.

“Whatever. I just don’t get it. You don’t even like her. She could offer to buy me unlimited pizza and beers and I still wouldn’t be able to handle all that clinginess.”

“Fucking hell! Just get out and don’t come back until we leave. You’re going to fuck up everything,” Seungkwan snapped, his voice unlike anything you’d ever heard coming from his lips. 

“Fine.” Vernon sighed dramatically. “But don’t come crying to me when it all comes to bite you in the ass.” 

A second later, you heard the front door slam shut, the sound of which snapped you right back to the horrible reality you were now forced to face. 

You’d just been shown a completely different side of your supposed best friend and you didn’t quite know whether to cry or scream. What you did know was that you couldn’t stay hidden behind the wall for forever, even though that did seem awfully tempting. You’d never been very confrontational but this matter couldn’t be left unspoken, not if you wanted to keep your sanity. 

You needed to hear the truth from Seungkwan himself. 

With your heart nearly pounding out your chest and a million thoughts running through your mind, you forced your legs to move in the direction of the living room where Seungkwan was awaiting your return. 

His head immediately shot up when he noticed you approaching him, a smile that felt just a little too forced making its way on his face. It was almost as if you could see a sliver of disgust flash behind his eyes.

Had that always been there or were you just overanalyzing everything because of what Vernon said?

“There you are! Any longer and I would have gotten worried.” Seungkwan chuckled as he turned his head back towards the TV.

Right. The movie the two of you had been watching before that awful conversation. If only you could turn back time. 

“Y/N?” Seungkwan asked with a raised brow when you hadn’t moved at all. “Aren’t you going to sit down? We can finish the last thirty minutes before we have to leave.”

“No.” 

Your voice was barely audible but you knew that it had been loud enough judging by the way Seungkwan responded.

“No? You don’t want to watch any more? Well, we can put on something else if that’s what you wan-”

You were quick to interrupt him. “No. That’s not what I want.”

“Okay?” He got up from the couch, his brows furrowed in confusion. “You’re acting kinda strange, Y/N. What’s going on?”

Without realizing it, you’d been clenching your fists so hard this entire time that your nails had pierced through parts of your skin, drawing a little bit of blood which you could feel dripping down your fingers. But you honestly couldn’t give a fuck right now. 

“Do you hate me?” you blurted out, completely catching the man in front of you off guard.

“W-what? Hate you? Why would you ask me that?” Seungkwan chuckled nervously, his hand awkwardly coming up to scratch behind his neck. 

“Be honest with me, Seungkwan.” You looked him dead in the eyes, noticing the way his eyes grew wide at the fierceness behind your words.

As if suddenly coming back to himself, he shook his head furiously. “You’re being crazy, Y/N.”

You let out a loud snort. “Me? Crazy? Then are you saying Vernon was lying just now?”

At that revelation, Seungkwan’s mouth opened and closed a few times as if he was about to say something but backed out at the last second. There was no talking himself out of this. And you were not backing down until you’d heard everything, even if it was going to crush you. 

“Yeah… I heard everything. About a supposed bet, about you pretending this entire time and wanting to ditch me. Does that ring a bell?” 

“Y/N, l-listen,” the man pleaded as he took a step forward to reach for your arm. 

“Tell me the fucking truth, Seungkwan!” you nearly screamed, surprising both yourself and him at the anger laced in your voice.

You could see the hesitation in his eyes at first, but it wasn’t long before that disgust you swore you’d seen before flashed behind his eyes once again. 

“You really wanna know what I think of you? Fine!” He threw up his hands. “I don’t like you, I never have, not then and not now. I’m not your fucking best friend and I’m sick of pretending. You’re right. It started out as a stupid bet to see if I could befriend you, but with how fucking desperate you were, that wasn’t hard. And then you just wouldn’t fucking go away so I thought, I might as well use your clingy ass to my advantage. Because who in their right mind doesn’t like free meals and free rides? All I had to do was pretend.” He chuckled bitterly. “Happy now?”

You didn’t stick around to respond, already halfway through the door with tears streaming down your face by the time he finished his cruel rant. This wasn’t the sweet and caring Seungkwan you’d been sharing all your secrets and insecurities with. This was the real Seungkwan, a mean, heartless excuse of a human being who you didn’t recognize at all. 

He’d broken your heart in a million little pieces and you didn’t know if you were ever going to recover from this. 

So much for letting someone in.

So much for not wanting to be alone. 

Boo Seungkwan, I hope it was worth it.

So ya know how 2012 TMNT and LEGO Ninjago were around at almost the same time? Like peak ninja times, my dude.

So like..since last December, I've been having these Elemental Turtles brainworms. (The main cast is inspired by the 2012 one but not exactly the same) and I'm kinda attempting to draw it when I get a new pen for my tablet.

The elements list that I have in mind is as follows and no, there is no prophesied Green saviour here, like there is in Ninjago:

-Leonardo : Water (Cause it feels perfect ngl)

-Raphael : Fire (That one 2012 episode ;D)

-Donatello : Earth (For plot reasons and also cause it'd be really cool)

-Michelangelo : Lightning (Not just cause of that happened in that Newtralizer arc, but also cause it matches his personality imo)

-Splinter : Wind (It'll delve deeper into a spiritual thing later on in my plot)

-April : Psychic (Like ik she has it in 2012 but it suits her so much that I don't wanna give her something else, also has plot purposes)

-Casey : Metal (Plot and cause it'd be fucking metal [pun intended] of him)

-Karai : Ice (Cause yes, just yes. Badass freezing her enemies because she can)

That's it for the most part. I don't want to make Shredder the Garmadon equivalent (cause I ain't doing Garmadon dirty like that, nuh uh) so I'll have to do a bit more thinking whether giving him an element (and if yes, which one?) would suit my plot line.

The characters will also be having their elements on their body, like birthmarks! While not in use, it'll be looking like an actual birthmark (eg: a darker green for the turtles) but when they use it, it'll glow with colour.

Example: For Leo, I'm planning on giving him a water drop mark on his throat (lol iykyk) that normally would be a bit darker than the rest of his green body but when he uses his water powers it'll be blue.

These marks will be something to earn, like how in Ninjago, the ninja had to unlock their true potential. So the first arc will be about that earning and all. The teens don't know what element they're gonna get until they earn it, in a way the element chooses it's weilder. Splinter will be making guesses but not all of it will be right. This Splinter will be inspired by CANON 2012 Splinter btw (none of that fanon abusive bs I keep seeing, they could never make me hate you 12! Splinter 😌)

Also I have many angsty, fluffy etc moments already planned out. Raph...Raph, the mental fuckery you'll be going through...hehehe >:)

I have fun facts too. Which I will reveal if anyone is interested in hearing one.

I also have two original characters in mind who have plot relevance. They're also going to have elements but I'll have to narrow it down a bit cause I have a few ideas for their elements which also will be affecting relationship dynamics depending on what the chosen element is so yeah, I have to give it more thought...

I'm not sure whether to include romance tbh... I'll think about it some more after I develop the platonic aspects of the relationships as well as character development.

Weekly thoughts- Ep 181

omg almost forgot about this one. been REALLY preoccupied w/ some IRL stuff the past two weeks and for once in my life, CoB's really been on the back burner in my brain.

tbh, it's been a really stressful time for me, which is why this episode and everyone's response to it was kind of a major highlight of the week for me haha. the comments on this ep were some of the funniest i've read in a while and i'm so glad. this was such a fun episode, probably my fav in a while, and i'm glad everyone else had fun with it too. ik it wasn't one of the biggest episode and the numbers reflect that, but those who did engage clearly had fun too. please keep all the failed stealth mission comments coming.

i will say this episode was a BITCH to draw, but i really like the pay off of it. like i said last week, lyss and nia is one of the most fun dynamics to write and i also noticed a few people picked up on what i was laying down with them hehehe.

i've def seen some lyss x nia emerging since this ep and........yeah i won't lie, i had fun this episode pointing in that direction. i will be honest tho, to not get your hopes up too high for like...some huge romance for them or anything. honestly the ship never occurred to me until writing these eps and i've already kind of got the remainder of the story planned out. i don't really believe in putting two characters together (canonly) without building their relationship, and i'm not sure if they'll get the time to do that like we've had with rex x bell or claude x jericho. but that said... oh yeah, i was totally shipping them this episode because i think they'd be super cute lol. head canon whatever you want.

A story for an aroace person aka me! :p

you know as there is a lack of aroace characters/representation in many shows/ stories/mangas/manhwas/ etc.

So, my brain is like "if there is no representation, just make it yourself" XD

So I did! I made a story about two best friends (both females for now, who will be known as A and B for now too :p) (one is aroace and the other is bi and ace) who have died and got reincarnated into an otome game.

( I am a sucker for reincarnated stories lol. I've been obsessed with that genre for a while now and wanted a Isekai female mc who was aroace cuz I've not found that many which is a sad sad thing ngl TT)

So the quick summary for the story is, as I said two best friends died and got reincarnated inti an otome game. The twist is that A is the original heroin and B is the original villainess of the otome game. Both of them are unaware that their best friend also reincarnated with them and also don't realize that they have reincarnated into an otome game in the beginning.

The otome game world ( I don't have the name for the world yet TT) has a total of 9 types of magic of which only 7 are known by the public. The types of magic are: fire, water, ice, fauna (nature), earth, lighting, wind, dark and light the last two are not known to the public.

A person can only possess only one type of magic which is determined by their eye color. But the person has around 70% chance that they'll possess that specific type of magic, if the person is in the 30%, he/she will possess the other type of magic.

For example: a person with a purple eye colour no mater the what shade of purple they've had 70% chance that they'll possess the lightning magic but if they are in the 30%, the personal will get the other magic: fire, ice, water, fauna, earth or wind

( I've done a decent world building too if I do say so myself (0v0) hehehe, had with that ngl.)

And since I can't draw that well out of curiosity made the characters in gacha XD

Secondo pressed Copia against the wall as soon as soon as they got inside his chambers, claiming his lips in a messy kiss. Copia's hands traveled down on Secondo's body, tucking at his shirt before just ripping it open, sending some of the buttons flying to the floor.

Secondo nibbled at Copia's bottom lip and Copia gasped, starting to unbuckle Secondo's belt. However, it didn't go that smoothly and Secondo chuckled at the little curses Copia let slip out in frustration.

"So eager to get into my pants," he spoke, mouth brushing against Copia's and Copia huffed.

"As if you aren't ready to fuck me right here."

Secondo smirked and the next moment Copia managed to free the belt and pop open the button and pull the zipper down. As Copia tucked his pants down, finally freeing his cock, Secondo let out a low sigh.

"Fuck, you're so ready," Copia sounded breathy as his hands wrapped around Secondo's length and Secondo grunted, drawing Copia into another hard kiss. Copia stroked his cock lazily, as if to test Secondo's patience.

Secondo lifted his hand to Copia's throat, adding just a bit of pressure. Then he pulled away to just take a look at Copia. At some point they managed to find their way on to the bed and Secondo watched how Copia settled himself on all fours, the sight of Copia's ass making his mouth water. Copia tilted his head, a smirk on his lips and Secondo's hands went to his hips, his cock brushing against Copia's ass as he leaned to speak in Copia's ear.

"Careful, my little devil," he warned, pushing his hips forward a little, making Copia chuckle a little shakily. Then Copia wiggled his ass, and with a growl Secondo tightened his grip on Copia's hips, trying to keep him still.

The gang continues conversing as they go down the towering staircase leading from the hill where the Treasure Academy resides to the crossroads near the town.

RUBY: "wild ones" implies they're nothing more than feral beasts, or some kind of scary creature... but they're just pokemon, like you and me. Ruby closes her eyes, deep in thought. RUBY: they're just suffering and being driven mad by... something, we're still not sure of what, but it's probably related to their weird growths... OUKA: You mean they're not just mindless feral Pokemon?? RUBY: no! you know my grandpa and i run a makeshift shelter for fallers back at capim town, most of them have calmed down by now and we're trying to ensure they recover from whatever is wrong... RUBY: i should take you there sometime, we were just taking care of a particularly special one. OUKA: Oh!! That sounds great!! OUKA: Before I forget to, I wanted to ask you... Ruby!! Do you wanna join Team Light Fang?! RUBY: w-what? i mean, i'd love to join you two, but i don't know how much i'd be able to help you, i'm way too busy helping out pops... OUKA: It's alright, you don't have to go with us all the time!! You can be part of the team... in spirit...!! Ouka draws out that last word as she makes puppy dog eyes at Ruby. RUBY: ...alright, i guess there's no harm in trying-- OUKA: YESS!! I knew I could count on you, Ruby!! Welcome to the team!! The Ledyba lets out a rather awkward chuckle as her excitable friend holds two of her hands, gleefully looking at her while Nova shows the faintest of smiles beside her. RUBY: ha, i guess you're always gonna be ouka. RUBY: shouldn't you wait until you're... we're officially recognized as an exploration team, though? OUKA: Pff, whoo cares!! Nothing's stopping us from doing some prep work!! In fact, how about we do some missions?? Like, uh...

Ouka points way too enthusiastically at a rather depressed Rellor.

OUKA: That guy! He seems upset, we can probably do something for him!! RUBY: are you really going to-- OUKA: Hey, mister!! What's going on?? RUBY: um, well, okay...

RELLOR: Hm? What's your problem? I'm not in the mood to deal with some kids! The Rellor squints at the team, clearly frustrated. OUKA: We're a soon-to-be Exploration Team, Team Light-Fang! We want to help anyone in need, and you definitely look like you need help! RUBY: have patience sir, she's just very hyper... RELLOR: Umph. Well, whatever. Any frustration the Dung Beetle Pokemon had turns to sadness as he lowers his head in defeat. RELLOR: It's just... I found this really pretty golden orb to roll around instead of this crummy mud ball... but I accidentally let it roll down a hill around Drenched Bluff! RELLOR: I'm too afraid to go looking for it since there has been talk of a Wild One roaming around, I refuse to deal with that! My golden treasure might as well be forever lost now... OUKA: Don't worry, we'll get it for you!! Ruby tilts her head at Ouka with uncertainty. RUBY: ...will we? OUKA: Of course!! You gotta show some faith if we're gonna be a Team, Ruby!! RELLOR: Okay, but are you all sure about this? Life goes on, you know. I don't wanna send you lot to a potentially dangerous place just to retrieve a measly gold nugget.

Alhaitham groaned quietly, pressing his eyes close as he was slowly waking up and recovering his senses. Despite the comfortable pillows underneath his head, the scribe felt a weight on his chest, bothering his slumbers throughout the night.

However, as soon as he opened his eyes, all the worries of possibly falling ill faded away. Noticing the blonde strands of hair spreaded all over his body, Alhaitham sighed, trying to move his arm and place it over his roommate’s shoulder. 

The memories from the previous day were slowly coming back to his mind. While hanging out with Cyno and Tighnari, Kaveh got a little too excited while drinking and, once they got back home, holding him close was the quickest way Alhaitham found to make him get to bed. He needed to get up early to work, so there was no time to waste.

But, much to his demise, he was now facing another problem: get out of bed. Kaveh had his arms wrapped around Alhaitham’s torso, his legs entangled with Alhaitham’s and his pillow had been replaced by the scribe’s chest. There was no way he could get up without waking up Kaveh. Checking the time, he still had a few minutes to properly dress himself up and eat something, that, of course, if he got up in the next five minutes.

“Hey, Kaveh…” Alhaitham muttered, shaking his roommate's shoulder, trying to get him out of his slumber, but there was no response. The scribe tsked. “Kaveh… wake up,” he continued, now speaking a little more firmly.

Noticing how the architect barely moved an inch from his position, Alhaitham needed to come up with a new plan. Sliding his hand down a little, he managed to slide his hand under Kaveh’s arm, starting to slowly scribble at his armpit and upper ribs.

From those simple touches alone, he could already feel a slight shift in Kaveh’s position and was sure he would see a change in his expression if he could see it more clearly. “Last chance, Kaveh,” the scribe hummed, stopping to move his fingers for a moment, “get up.”

As his words seemed to fall in deaf ears, Alhaitham chuckled. “Alright, suit yourself,” he whispered, starting to move his fingers against Kaveh’s ribs again, a little more intensely this time.

It took him merely a couple of seconds to start drawing out some noises from the blonde. Small, quietly groans at first, then some more audible huffs and, finally, giggles.

“S-stohohop…” Kaveh chuckled, lazily, whining as he tried to brush Alhaitham’s hands from his body. The architect pressed down his arm, but lacked the strength to actually do anything other than trap his roommate’s hand in the spot.

“I will if you wake up,” Alhaitham replied, moving his hand up to tickle Kaveh’s underarm as he noticed how the other was growing accustomed to the tickling. Much for Alhaitham’s amusement and Kaveh’s demise, this new spot seemed to be a way more effective.

“AHAhahalhaitham!” Kaveh squealed, his voice cracking and breaking to the once quiet bedroom. Trying to roll onto his side, Kaveh found himself stuck inside his roommate’s embrace, aimlessly kicking his feet as he squirmed under the tickling. “O-okahay! I’m ahahawake! Stohohop!”

The scribe hummed satisfied, digging his fingers into the ticklish spots, making Kaveh twist and turn like a fish out of the water. He couldn’t help but chuckle along at the blonde’s clumsy moves, still half asleep. 

Looking at the clock once again while tickling Kaveh’s armpit nonstop and pulling him closer, making sure he wouldn’t fall off the bed or run away from his touch, Alhaitham noticed there was still some extra minutes he could afford - especially since this tactic seemed to be more effective than he predicted.

I did rotate a NDA/Amaterasu swap au in my head a few months back but I just got reminded of it now again soooo, some notes:

(ended up going a bit more loose with the swapping, essentially yuma is the homunculus and makoto's got amnesia, the NDA is Seth/Guillaume/Dominic/Martina with chief Yomi, the (post-ch0) peacekeepers are halara/desuhiko/fubuki/yakou with director Vivia because I sincerely think Yakou is too cringe for that. And just for the hehehe, Huesca is now Makoto's terrible shinigami while Shinigami dumps acid on people in the lab)

Makoto and Yuma change places but their personalities stay pretty similiar. Makoto keeps his eccentricity to #Cope and doesn't really trust others due to the whole amnesia thing. Yuma on the other hand becomes a prey animal after the entire homunculus event

I'm not exactly sure about the other fortes of the NDA except for Guillaume (who can alter the future with the requirement of having to use a plausible horoscope format, though i guess it's good she's having fun with it?) and Dominic (who is like, it's less that he's having a forte and more that he's just a super OP augmented human that has been through surgeries that made him able to shoot lasers out his eyes or something. we can even call him somewhat of an artificially created forte haver. he feels.... a lot of things regarding the whole thing). I do have a few ideas for Seth that I cannot articulate properly, but my mind just draws a blank on Martina. Maybe she gets some persuasion powers? like, if she focuses long enough on unethically interrogating some person or even just trying to get information out of a peacekeeper, they just eventually start uncontrollably spilling the beans via her cool mind control psychic powers affecting their thoughts and judgment and shit. Since that was similiar to her regular hobby in canon. Anyway that's in the works for now

Yomi is the chief of the NDA (for the longest time though it wasn't an agency even he just literally worked alone. not because detectives got discriminated against back then like in canon, but because he thought everyone who applied was extremely annoying for not meeting his impossible standards), and like Yakou in canon he does not have a forte. However, he acts pretty proud of it and how he unlike those other gifteds, actually had to put in effort and work harder for that position. He really hates his coworkers for having it that easy and and never passes up an opportunity to act superior to them and undermine everything they ever do, and invents slurs for people with magic powers. Very visibly actions of somebody that is actually totally confident in their abilities and themselves all along

He wasn't at all prepared for getting new subordinates, the WDO just called him at literal last minute saying they're gonna be delivering detectives to his sub the same week, then just hung up. He spent the next two days furiously vacuuming the place and throwing darts at the picture of master detective wikipedia article he printed out to put on his wall

He's very proud of his incredibly cool, glorious submarine he got with his own money back in the Glory Days. He's a very "stop fucking touching that get your hands off that furniture don't pick that up DON'T MOVE THHSE FFFUCKING SOPOT TRIP MAGNETS if you knock that over im gonna kill you make any mess in my sub and im gonna waterboard you in the shower" type of guy with his belongings. He doesn't appreciate the NDA being there and touching stuff. Unless they wanna sweep the floors in which case put on the maid suit Makoto. But he's still gonna just sit there in his chair and watch him and yell at him every ten seconds that he's doing it wrong

His personal "dead wife moment" was when Dr. Shizuka (Shinigami) ran over his darling boytoy hitman Zilch Alexander with her truck and reversed on him over four times before driving off . it was the night of their wedding

Halara is the chief of the investigations team, and is actually mildly interested in actually investigating the cases themself. Used to have aspirations to become a detective in their younger days, but didn't think it would be more beneficial to them than, say, becoming a peacekeeper. With their cool immunity benefits and pay. They love money, definitely not above bribery either. Still love cats more than humans.

Extremely confident in their strength and superior intelligence, to the point of feeling simply untouchable. They never quite considered the possibility of actually finding out after fucking around for such a long time during the nail man killings, and when director Vivia plainly told them they're fired and going to the chopper for that, their mind just short circuited for a moment from the influx of this incomprehensible information. Of course, they did not let themself get taken away, but are from that point on the run.

They think they're the smartest person in the room, however they never actually went through any training in being a detective or anything like that, and thus can.... severely overestimate their ability to get away with things. Especially when Vivia's around. Oh well!

Director Vivia is. Well first of all are you familiar with dark era Dazai bsd just asking for no particular reason. He allows himself to get pretty silly with it every once in a while, but generally he's just. Personality of canon Vivia with the sadism of canon Yomi, but also Not Really

Doesn't really like shows of power that much, and prefers to stay out of public as much as he can; whenever he is called to take care of a case himself, he will make it very clear he's too pissed off to tolerate any Funny Stuff. Eerily aware of everything that happens in his city, he possesses a lot of knowledge that he realistically just shouldn't even have access to. His subordinates treat him as some sort of powerful eldritch god. He's pretty apathetic to it though.

Yomi acts really weird whenever he's mentioned for some reason.

Nowwww onto Yakou, Vivia's slutty slutty vice-director.... haha just kidding, he's just replacing his wife for the week. She's at home sick <3

Kind of really cringe and not evil enough for this, but Vivia still wants him to get a divorce eventually. He's kind of the only person that isn't batshit scared of Vivia, because they actually did bond over at some rooftop smoking cigarettes looking into each other's eyes one night a few years back. And also he would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy the many benefits of being the director's faaaaaavouriiite~ a bit.

He's not a good person by any means do not get fooled by his wet rat charm. None of the NDA-turned-peacekeepers are good people now, not even Fubuki who loves to explode things for fun or Desuhiko who's honestly really just an underqualified nepo baby in this au

So the one who led up to this in the first place, Fawful from @parmsnik AU!! He is dating/eventually marrying Naspi depending on where you’re at in the AU haha! Your way of drawing Fawful seems to change a little bit each time you draw him, so I tried to my best to guestimate a consistent looking Fawf! Very cute!

Lion - I'm probably most proud of how far I've come over the last few years, I went through a lot and am still learning to live with some of it. It's definitely shaped a bit of who I am now, but I'd like to think I have grown from it and carried it with me rather than living in that dump forever :) AND MY FRIENDS IM SO SO SO PROUD OF THEM AND HOW MUCH THEY'VE DONE AND I WISH THE BEST FOR ALL OF YOU :((

Maine Coon - Honestly I'm not too sure how others would describe me, or even how to encapsulate my personality into one word--I'd like to say I'm energetic but I also have my moments of not being as much, I'm nice but I know I can be a bitch, I'm a lot of things but I'm really unsure of what word could describe me, plus I don't remember any good descriptive words rn :') (I'm so tired)

American Shorthair - I have many things that comfort me, id say my friends are my biggest comfort, as cheesy as it is. My friends remind me I'm not alone and have reasons to keep going, even when it feels impossible. I also often tend to latch onto games and streamers/YouTubers for comfort (a big one is hermitcraft!! :D), many of the people I watch now are people who practically raised me and I love them dearly. Another few smaller things that I find help comfort me are things like music, tea, or small things like animals (my cat!!!) or stuffed animals :3

Tiger - Another one that I'm not entirely sure how to answer :( "Being cute and being mine" -☀️ I think I went through the 5 stages of grief trying to come up with something that's all you're getting, oh yeah and my worst is probably the fact that I'm indecisive or like impulsive idk

Cougar - Hehehe fandoms 😇 Definitely undertale, fnaf, and sanders sides in the later years. I was (unfortunately) an aphmau kid back in 2015 but that was more watching her content and less fandom stuff. The undertale and fnaf ones definitely didn't ever stop, I got really into sans aus back during covid and relied on all three of those fandoms for comfort during the quarantine too. Sanders sides definitely helped me over the years before and during covid, it was definitely a rough time in my life as I was learning new things about myself and others around me, and it helped me so much with learning how to be me and accept myself as I am. As for a fandom I'm really active in now, id say the one I'm most active in is Hermitcraft (so surprising!!! 🙀) I got super into it back in season 6 when grian joined because I watched his content before he joined, and now I watch most of the hermits, I do tend to focus on a few each season while watching the occasional stream/video from the others though! I also listen to the imp & skizz podcast, and I find it rather comforting when I'm stressed, I love the hermits so much and they've definitely helped me so much without even knowing :) (and the fandom is so silly I love everyone)

Fishing Cat - I have so many I'm definitely going to forget some, I love learning new things and it's led to many hobbies that I do and will probably get back into in the future! :) I do crochet, it's something I have been learning since I was really young but couldn't get the hang of it for the longest time because my mom had a hard time teaching me it since she's left handed, I love reading, I read all kinds of things from old novels & poetry, romance and mystery, to nonfiction and sci-fi, I enjoy reading anything as long as it can keep my interest, and I loveee getting reccomended books (even though my to-be-read list is SO long), I like small crafts like jewelry making but it hurts my hands (especially the more intricate ones like fancy necklaces, bracelets, earrings), i love gaming, its a big part of who I am seeing as I grew up doing it, and even though i dont it as much anymore I still enjoy it and love playing games with my friends!! I enjoy drawing, but it's stressful because I'm not great at it and am way too perfectionistic over it. I used to paint but I never got too good at it and never had proper supplies, it was very fun though and I'd definitely get back into it sometime down the line. I listen to a lot of music, and watch youtubers/streamers. I like to go on walks, but with some of my health issues I don't go on them as often (I definitely will do more this summer though!!) and hanging out with my friends and animals. I plan on getting into sewing and possibly cosplay sometime so that will be fun to learn! I love creative hobbies, despite how stressful they can be when they don't go how I wanted it to :) I love seeing things I'm able to make evolve and get better and I get better at doing it, and I love consuming information and seeing people be people!!

What is your favorite book?

I hope to find my Niche Audience here. My favorite books are Roverandom by Tolkien, and the Narnia series. I grew up on those books. (If you're a fan of Tolkien and haven't heard about Roverandom go check it out!! He wrote it for his child who lost their toy dog at the beach. It's a short book and so cute!)

I'll be honest that I've put on a few pounds ever since the pandemic. It's not awful but I really don't like a lot of how I look lately. I just need to get disciplined and tone up, which I hope to do this year, but I haven't been happy with myself for a while.

What is a fact about you that nobody would believe?

I've met Keanu Reeves 3 times 🫣 Its not entirely without proof, as I do have pictures, so it IS believable but it's definitely my first Fun Fact i like to tell people hehehe. Another one is that I've broken my nose on a wooden board too.

What were your highs and lows for this last month?

Nothing particular for January specifically, but December fucking sucked if that counts. Low: Had to say goodbye to my dog of 14 years and I miss him every day since. High: Idk, I had a pretty decent Christmas. We're moving homes soon so that's a positive.

How do you de-stress?

I love to draw, listen to music, or I'll do some self care by taking a nice shower and putting on a face mask. Something about making my skin clean just makes me feel better overall. It's helped me a lot.

A time that you told a lie.

A funny one because this has been oddly sad and personal lmao I'm so sorry.

When I was a kid I was trying to feed my dog some soup from the table and I poured it on him. (I was uncoordinated). He had white fur and had a clear broth stain on his back. My mom asked me if I was feeding him my soup and I flat out denied it lmfao. I was not a very clever kid I guess hfhdhxhbdbd
