||Van Ink Za Tatsu No Harem: Part 18: Path to Recovery

Hi everyone! Here is part 18 for this drabble. This drabble is for my partner @the-silver-peahen-residence . This drabble is going to have some funny wholesome moments and a serious fight.

------ Summary -----

After her fraction realized their error and accept the conquesneces of their actions by Ink and the boys handing down their punishments. However there is one more thing that Ink needs to focus on. Her rival, Kali. How will Ink deal with Kali and her involvement in the party?  Find out more.

------ Hospital Room ------

After things are now settled between her fraction and the boys. While Fosh is getting things set up for Navarro and the boys to live together.

Ink needs to focus on another matter to deal with. Kali Vin-Shia aka the Wrathful Baroness. Out of everyone, Ink never knew that Kali would done this at people’s expense. Yuuka inform her that thinking that Kali wants something out of this. Because of that, she remembers at the party that Kali wanted one of the boys for herself if she pick the one she loved the most. Ink grips on her pants and narrows her eyes. Not cool. 

She didn’t know why. But the way Kali said it....she treating them like they’re objects or something. Ink never had this feeling before. 

 Ink thinks of her as rival but right now...she needs to set things straight with her.

“I’m going to fight her....” She uttered.

“Ink, are you up?” Rin asked.

Ink blinks and looks to see Rin Okinia who is at the door. 

“Oh uh! Sorry! I was thinking out loud.” Ink said.

“That’s okay, Ink.” Rin said, “Also! I got you something!” Rin grins. “My speciality and favorite food for lunch!” He sets it on the bed table. It is a black pot so it made Ink’s eyes filled with anciptiation. Rin lifts the lid up. “Sukiyaki!!” Ink sees  and is at awe at what she seeing. Well-marbled beef with vegetables like cabbage and other greens, tofu, egg yolk and mushrooms. She sees liquid. Soup? Wait, there’s noodles!!

“It’s a broth.” Rin explained. “Perfect for your recovery. It has everything you need to get strength back up.” 

“Wow! That looks so amazing, Rin!” Ink clasped her hands with her eyes sparkling together making Rin proudly. “Careful...it’s hot!”

“Okay!” Ink picks up the chopsticks and digs in. She widen her eyes and lets out a pleasing hum as she tried the noodles and broth. “So good! This is the best! Thank you so much, Rin! You’re so awesome!”

Rin is now proud as his cheeks blush a little pink as he rubs his nose. Hearing that Ink loves his cooking fills him with pride and love, no doubt! Take that, Bakugo! Top that! Rin smirked.

Outside the room, Bakugo is seething while gripping on the edge of the door while Midoriya is trying to calm him down. “Easy Kacchan. Your cooking would be great when dinner comes!” Midoriya laughs. But then Midoriya stops laugh while Bakugo is snickering. 

“Yeah...I’m going to wipe that smirk off his face when Ink gets a taste of my cooking!” Bakugo cackles menacingly making Midoriya sweat-dropped as he chuckles. There he goes...The green pro-hero thought.

“It’s not a competition...” Atsushi sighed.

“IT IS TO ME!” Bakugo exclaimed. Right now, the boys are having cook-off with each other to see Ink react to their cooking. And no...Kali has no part in this. The boys decide this among themselves when they see what Ink would be eating give by the hospital.

----- Yesterday  -----

“This is what she’s eating?! No way in hell she’s eating this!” Said Bakugo seeing the hospital food, he twitched an eye at this....food being served to Ink. “The fuck is this? What the hell is this?! The fuck am I seeing?! WHO COOK THIS?!” Bakugo points at the tray in disgust, ready to burn it and throw it straight to the trash. 

“Hospital food...” Ren answered while Midoriya sweats drops a little with a chuckle. 

“That’s a rtheroical question!” Bakugo yelled. 

“Is this what food is like here in American hospitals???” Atsushi can’t believe this seeing the food. It looks and smells of disappointment. Mushy rice, baked chicken that looks dry and overcooked, overcooked vegetables, a fruit cup and milk carton. This can make any person cry and make them leave the hospital early! They will be better off with a glass of water. 

“Yeah....screw that.” Rin shaking his head and decides this. “I’m going to be the one cooking her meals.”

“HUH?!” Bakugo looks at Rin, “The hell you will, I will be cooking her meals!”

“Oh yeah! What are you going to cook for her, huh?!” Rin retorted. “She needs a full meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Can you cook all that?! You cook only spicy food!”

“Do not! I can cook anything than just spicy food!” Bakugo retorted.

“I can bring her honey toast with raspberry jam, plum jam, orange jam, strawberry jam, honey, and butter!” Denji said with his hand raised.

All the boy stared at him in bewilderment hearing that. 

“You can’t be serious! That’s too much sugar!!” Rin stared at Denji right now. “That’s not a meal! What is wrong with you?” Rin yelled comedically.

“Huh! It’s breakfast!” Denji yelled back comedically. “It’s good! It’s fluffy heaven!” Then Ren sighs. “I think curry with rice would be good.” Ren said. “It might help.” He said.

“Yeah that works but needs to be par with something..” Rin said. 

“Maybe miso soup with fish and rice! Like seaweed soup or tea over rice! ” Atsushi said.

“Good but not enough.” Rin said. Denji wrinkle his nose, furrows his brows and points at the half-demon accusingly, “You son of- I know what you’re doing! You want to cook the meals for Ink by yourself! You don’t want anyone else to cook so Ink can praise yer cooking!!!”

“HUUHH?! Are you dumb?!” Rin yelled but the tip of his pointy ears were blushing red. Busted. 

“You rat tail demon bastard! Think you slick and can pull a fast one on us, HUH?!” Bakugo yelled as he flexes his palms ready to blast out explosions. Ren, Atsushi and Midoriya sighed in unison. This is getting nowhere....

“You guys...” Shdwkyz groans, he can’t believe they’re arguing about this while Vivi is shaking her head. She had to admit it’s pretty amusing. Then someone steps forward and provides a situation.

“How about you guys pick a meal at the time of the day and just serve it to her. Like Denji makes breakfast, Rin makes lunch and Bakugo makes her dinner.” Oblivion said it. “Knowing Ink, she can eat anything by you guys. Maybe...share your favorite food with her or a food that is best for her recovery. You can ask Jaron for advice or Ophelia.” She said. The boys heard and contemplate Oblivion’s words. 

“That does make sense.” Ren said, tapping his chin.

“That actually works!” Midoriya said, nodding with a smile. 

“I taste Jaron’s cooking. I tried it myself!” Atsushi said honestly. “It’s really good! He might know what would Ink like!” He added.

“Hell yeah! Let’s go.” Denji grinned. 

“Yes but remember he will not cook since it’s part of his punishment. But we can ask him to tell us.” Ren reminded them. The boys take this into account and agree. 

Mission: Making Ink homemade meals by theirs truly! 

----- Morning -----

And so, the boys compromise between each other in which one will cook one meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This morning, Denji already serve Ink with his honey toast with direction of Jaron by serving her eggs, bacon and honey, strawberry, and raspberry jam on the toast sprinkled with cinnamon served with almond milk. 

“Woah! This tastes amazing, Denji! Thank you so much!” Ink smiles. “And man! You’re not kidding about the honey toast special! It tastes so good! I think this wake me right up!” Ink after taking a bite out of him. “Thanks a lot!” 

“Happy that you like it!” Denji said with a grin as his cheeks flush a little pink. Score! I did it! Denji thought. ‘Nobody will beat me in breakfast! Hahahaha! I’m the best!!’

Minutes later, Ink is done with breakfast as the plate is clean. “All done! Thanks for the food!” Ink smiles.

----- Present Afternoon -----

Ink eats non-stop making Rin so happy that Ink loves his cooking. Now he’s pumped. Now he needs to see how Bakugo is going to top this. It better be good than lunch. 

“Phew! All done! Thank you for the meal!” Ink smiles as she sets the chopsticks down. Rin sees that Ink ate the entire meal. No scarp of meat, no remains of soup and nothing. Ink clean the entire bowl. Rin wanted to cry of happiness. 

---- Outside ----

“Damn! I thought I had it in the bag!” Denji gritted his teeth while Ren pats on his back. “There, there, there. Lunch and breakfast are two different things. At least Ink ate everything.” Ren tells him. At the same time, Oblivion, Shdwkyz  and Fosh just watching this.

“Should we do something about this?” Fosh asked, looking a bit worried.

“Nope. We done enough damage.” Shdwkyz shakes his head, And besides...this is way better and all in good fun for once.” 

“I agree.” Vivi smiles a bit. “Seeing them compete and not fight each other like this is way better.” 

Oblivion nods.”Uh-huh.” She has to admit, those two meals are good. She wonders what Bakugo will come up for dinner.

----- Ink’s room, a hour later ----

“Alright! I will be going! Get some more exercise and rest, Ink.” Rin smiles, waving at him.

“Okay! Thanks for visiting, Rin! ” Ink smiles before Rin leaves. Several minutes later, a group of girls came to the room. Ink smiles at their familar faces.

“Jinx! Ashely and Yuuka! You came!” Ink smiles. 

“Hey! I’m here for my best friend and sis!” Jinx grinned as she had flowers and goes to change them. 

“I-It’s good to see you doing well, Ink. You seem happier today than yesterday.” Ashely noticed. 

“Yeah! You wouldn’t believe it. Denji made me breakfast and then afternoon came by, Rin made me lunch. I had a great time talking with them too.” Ink smiles. 

Oh! Yuuka, Ashely and Jinx are surprised to heard this and happy to hear it. Denji and Rin can cook. Ink is a one lucky girl. “So Oblivion wasn’t kidding...” Yuuka whispered.

“Right?!” Jinx whispered. 

“That’s w-wonderful, Ink. It seems like they really care about you.” Ashely smiles. Ink chuckles as she blushes a little. “I never had something like this. I hope it doesn’t take up too much of their time. The food is really good and I can’t waste all of it. Rin and Denji put a lot of effort in their food. I don’t know, I can sense it when I eat it.” 

This must be the power of love. Ashely thought happily.

“Wow! I wish someone can cook like that for me!” 

Then Yuuka got a text message to which she sighs. Ink blinks. “Yuuka? Is everything okay?”

“It’s nothing but-”

“But?”

“It’s Kali. She wants to meet you.” Yuuka sighed making Ashely and Jinx slient as they are worried. Ink is silent and then makes a decision.

----- Central Park ----

“Ink!” Yuuka catches up with her. “Where are you going?! You can’t just leave the hospital like that!” She yelled as she is now concerned. 

“Y-yes! She’s right. You aren’t discharged yet.” Ashely said as the three girls are following after Ink.

“I’m fine. We’re just going to talk.” Ink assures them. By talking, Ink is going to fight Kali since she asked where her greatsword, Wyvern is. Ink has it on her back. Jinx can tell this is going to be a fight between them. She can feel it in her bones.

They found Kali sitting at the bench, drinking her lemonade. Kali looks over to Ink whom smiles at her. “Well, well, you got discharged already?”

Ink smiles, “Not really. I need some fresh air and this is a good excuse to do it.” This got Ashely and Yuuka nervous. 

“Really? Anyway, I call you here because I have no way to contact you.”

And the three girls knew why. Fosh didn’t want to send message sent over to Ink because of what Kali did by Navarro’s orders since he felt responsible for letting Kali go about the games. It made sense for Ink to recover first before dealing with Kali first. So Kali’s first point of contact is Yuuka.

“Don’t worry, Yuuka told me.” Ink smiles, “Anyway, Kali. I need to know something.” Said Ink.

“By needing to know something, you want to know why I helped Navarro with his plan.” Kali asked, not beating around the bush as she can already tell what Ink wants to know.

“Yeah....” Ink nods. 

“It’s simple, Ink.” Kali begins, “Because you have no idea how lucky you are.” Kali said as she narrows her eyes. This got Jinx, Ashely and Yuuka tense hearing this. Ink didn’t move nor say anything. “For someone so strong, you should’ve notice it after what Yuuka and Oblivion told me when they came asking around just to confirm your right hand’s worries. I mean...I have to admit! I’m was really surprised but not surprised at all.”

Ink is silent and looks at her questionable.

“Ever since you came back from Japan, you’re the talk of the town! Now only that, you were talk of Japan ever since you defeated Iron TItan which everyone is so happy about. But at the same time, you’re too dense of not noticing their feelings.” Kali explained.

By feelings. She meant the boys’ feelings.

“Jeez...how can you miss that! There were hints!” Kali raised her hands in disbelief.

“I-” Ink asked. 

“The flowers, the gifts, the plushie and the chocolate cupcakes with the heart sprinkles on them!!” Kali made number of her fingers as she makes her points. Yeah that last part, she will never let that go. “And on the party, you can’t pick one! You want all of them?!” Kali asked. 

“Yeah....” Ink narrows her eyes, wondering what’s her point right now. 

“Are you saying that because you don’t want to hurt their feelings, or you can’t choose or that’s how you really feel?” Kali asked. Ink is silent to which Yuuka, Jinx and Ashely comes to her defense.

“We all heard it, Kali.” Jinx said.

“Yes! We were all there!” Said Yuuka. 

“Y-yes, Ink gave her answer.” Ashely stammered. But Kali’s eyes shut them down, “I’m asking Ink. Not you three.” She tells them before going to Ink, “Well? What’s your answer?”

Ink thinks deeply on this before giving her answer, “It’s what...I really feel, Kali.” Ink said it. “When I spend time with each and every one of them, I felt happy.” Ink said honestly, “At first, the first time you ask me that question. I didn’t want to pick because if I say all, I feel like I’m hurting their feelings but I shouldn’t hide my feelings. ”

“And you’re not going to say whose the best out of the six?” Kali tapping her foot.

“No. They’re all the best to me in their own way.” Ink said.

“Oh my god...” Kali rolls her eyes. “And how you are going to spend with them! It takes a lot of energy! You really don’t think this through! What the heck are you trying to pull?!” “I’m not trying to pull anything!” Ink retorted.

“Yes you are! With your mokkori body, do you have any idea what is it like to spend time with a person who has the hots for you?!” Kali pointed. “Do you?!”

“Mokkori-?!” Yuuka had to do a double take as she trips herself. Jinx caught Yuuka in her arms.

“Y-yuuka! Are you alright?” Ashely asked making Yuuka, “Y-yeah...sorta.” Yuuka had to twitch an eye. Where did the hell did Kali got that word from?! 

“Well...no...I mean....” Ink begins.

“Of course you don’t! You have no experience with men! You don’t how to date! You have no game! You have no concept of dating!” Kali said. “That’s what I did this for you so as a fellow rival, to cut down their numbers so you can handle one!”

“H-handle?” Ashely blinks. 

“That’s right! After all, as your rival. I deserve to have-

“To have one of them for yourself.” Ink cuts her off, making Kali blink. The girl huffs away from her and nods, “Yes. I said that and I won’t take it back.” 

“Why? You didn’t know any of them that much.” Ink said. “Why would you-

“So?! If one of them are mine, then I will and make sure they will be pleased by me. After all, they need someone who isn’t an immature, reckless, and oblivious person on earth.”

“Kali!” Yuuka yelled, can’t believe what she’s hearing. Ashely is now worried while Jinx is now worried about Ink. They never heard Kali talked like this. Kali is crossing the line here.

“That’s why if you are honest, I can take them off your hands and-” 

“Kali.....” Ink begins. “The guys aren’t objects.” She said emotionless making Kali look at Ink now having a serious expression, “They aren’t yours to take....”

“Oh...” Kali blinked her eyes, now surprising to hear her rival now. “And what are you going to do about it?” Kali sneers. It’s about time!

“To set the record straight!” Ink said as she grips her greatsword, Wyvern. “The guys can make their decisions on who they want to go with! You can’t force them to! If I said I like them all! I like them all and you’re not going to have any of them to yourself!” Ink roared as she unleashes a surge of demonic energy towards Kali who now laughs as she unleashes her own demonic energy as well.

“Then prove it to me! Beat me in a fight then!” Kali laughs as she pulls out her twin sabres, Ravanna. The three girls take cover behind a rock as the two girls went at each other as their weapons clashes. “It’s about time you’re taking this seriously!

“Not good! We have to do something!” Yuuka said but she and Ashely were stopped by Jinx. “J-JInx?” Ashely questioned. Jinx shakes her head, “I say let them fight it out. Ink and Kali needs this.” She said.

“But-”

“Look Yuuka. Ink is serious in fighting Kali and Kali wants to know her resolve.”

“But still...” Yuuka said.

“Don’t worry! Since Central Park is part of Cursed Vixens’ turf! I will act as a refeere!” Jinx grinned with a thumbs up making the two fraction leaders sigh.

----- two hours later ----

“I swear Ink- you little-” A clash is heard that sends shockwaves throughout Central Park. A explosion is heard as Yuuka, Ashely and Jinx watch. 

“I WON’T LOSE!!” Ink yelled as she slams her greatsword down on Kali but Kali blocks with her sabres, Ravanna and pushes her away.

“HA! I’M SURPRISED YOU CAN STILL MOVE AFTER THROWING YOU ACROSS THE BRIDGE!” Kali said, rushing her and delivers slashes at her but Ink blocks them away. “That’s because I got to solve one more problem to solve !” Ink yelled. 

“HA! ME A PROBLEM?!” Kali laughed. 

“YOU HURT THEM, KALI! WITH YOUR DUMB GAMES!! I WON’T LET YOU GET AWAY WITH THAT! ONCE I BEAT YOU, YOU’RE GOING TO SAY SORRY!” Ink yelled. 

“NOT IF I BEAT YOU!” Kali yelled. Trees are being cut down and the grass is being upturned as dirt is around. “WHEN I BEAT YOU, I WILL TAKE THEM FOR MYSELF!”

“NO WAY! THAT’S NOT-” Ink yelled.

“NOT WHAT?!” Kali said. 

“THAT’S NOT WHAT LIKING SOMEONE IS ABOUT! YOU CAN’T FORCE SOMEONE TO LIKE YOU, KALI!” 

“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT IS CALLED LOVE!” Kali said. “YOU DUMB IDIOT!” Kali forces Ink against a tree and pins there. “Do you have any idea how I feel about it?! Do you?! I spend a lot of time dating and I can’t get one guy to stay with me! But you?! You managed to have five...no...six guys without even trying! While me having experience, I got nothing but damn catfishes and creeps!!”

“Y-you...need to be yourself, I mean you can find people and”

“BE MYSELF?!” Kali yelled before throwing Ink to the dirt. “That’s a load of crap I ever heard! Didn’t I told you before. You’re lucky!” Kali said as she brings her Ravanna down but Ink rolls to the side dodging it before coming back up.

“You need to go out and find them not online! You need to go outside and meet people!” Ink said.

“I can’t find anyone who likes me!” Kali screeched. 

“There’s someone who does!” Ink said. 

“LIKE WHO?!” Kali said. 

“I don’t know but you gotta try! You can’t sit there and complain about finding guys you don’t meet face-to-face!” Ink said as she blocks an attack. Yuuka, Ashely and Jinx watches the fight. Yuuka begins to realize what this is about.

Kali is jealous. Or rather envious of Ink. Did she do this because she’s upset that she doesn’t have no one that looks at her like the boys look at Ink. Affection? and love?

“As your fellow rival, those guys want nothing but your body! I don’t want that for you!”

“That’s not true! You don’t know them like I do!” Ink roared before slamming her sword against Kali, sending her flying. Kali recovers as she flips and lands her feet on the trunk of the tree. Using it as a launchpad and launches herself at Ink. 

“I know because it’s true! Because I have been used like that! Nobody cares about me!” Kali screamed as she swings her sabres at Ink so quickly, it look like the attacks were multiple but Ink manages to block them by swinging her greatsword in front of her body. Then with a growl, Ink slams Kali against the tree.

“Then I’m sorry that you feel that way!” Ink said, making sure Kali is pin against the tree. “Kali! I talk to them and I can see it in their eyes that they don’t think like that!” Ink said seriously.

“And how do you know?” Kali said angrily. 

The three girls can’t overhear but it looks like Ink whispered something to Kali that made her quiet and widen her eyes. Kali said, “I...you...what?”

“Yeah. I seen it and deal with it.” Ink said. “That’s why I’m telling you this. The guys are different and someday...you find someone like them who likes you for who you are.” Ink tells her seriously as she pulls away and Kali slides down, contemplating this. Kali narrows her eyes.

“Really?”

“Really. Someday...you will find them and get to know them. I know I’m lucky, Kali. That’s why I make sure I will like them as much as they like me. I will support their dreams and goals. If they don’t love me anymore, that’s fine. I want them to be happy.” 

“Hah...this is why I can’t compete with your optimistic attitude.” Kali huffs as she dusts herself. “Well if this is what you want then as your rival, I’m going to make sure to give you advice in men and dating.”

“Not till you say sorry.” Ink crosses her arms.

“After I say sorry.” Kali nods in agreement. The girls sees that the fight is over. Jinx had to whistle, “Wow...you guys make a mess. Did you two got it out of your system?”

“Yeah...” Ink and Kali said in unison.

“D-does that mean....we’re good now?” Ashely asked. Kali and Ink nods. “Well that is...I have to apologize to the people and Ink’s harem.” Kali said with a frown. 

“That’s good to know...” Said Yuuka. Before the girls say anything, they heard a shout.

“INK!”

Ink heard explosions and a whoosh. She can already sense who came. 

Midoriya and Bakugo lands on the ground, looking concerned or rather Bakugo looks mad.  “Ink! What the hell?!” Ink and Kali jumped along with Yuuka, Jinx and Ashely hearing Bakugo’s voice as he is on the field. 

“Uh! Bakugo!  Midoriya! What’s up? Are you-”

“Were you just fighting right now?” Bakugo asked frowning. 

“Uh yes! But I was fighting Kali because...HUH?!!” Then Ink is lifted up and hostled over Bakugo’s shoulder. “Hey Bakugo! What are you doing?!” Ink yelled.

“Taking you back to hospital! That’s what!” Bakugo yelled. 

“But I’m fine!” Ink retorted

“You haven’t heal properly from your injuries!” Midoriya cried. 

“I was just sparring! Besides Dr. Yosano took care of them.”

“That’s sparring?!” Bakugo points comically, pointing to several trees that are cut down and rocks being destroyed from their fight making Ink sweat-dropped as she chuckles. “Well...uh...we’re just talking???!” Ink laughs nervously. 

“Uh-huh. Anyway...we’re getting your ass back to bed!” Bakugo said while carrying Ink back while Midoriya sighed. “B-b-but!” Ink tries to argue.

“No buts!” Bakugo told her firmly making Ink sigh in defeat. 

Kali stares in disbelief while Jinx, Yuuka and Ashely are just watching stunned when Ink is being dragged back to hospital like a kid being reprimanding about not taking care of herself. Midoriya addresses the girls including Kali. “Are you four alright? We heard from Oblivion that Ink is missing and-”

“Yeah! Ink and Kali were really sparring.” Jinx smiled.

“Y-yes. Sorry for the scare.” Ashely said. 

“Yeah...Ink is fine.” Yuuka said. Kali huffs as she crosses her arms, “Like they said, we’re sparring. That said, I owe you an apology, hero.” Kali tells Midoriya. “For my actions at the party, I was getting overboarding and my feelings got the best of me. That said...if you continue this relationship with Ink, I will support it!”

Huh? Midoriya blinked. “Oh...okay.” Midoriya nods. Seems like Kali is apologizing. If that’s what Ink is planning to do based on their so-called sparring, it makes sense. 

“That said! If you’re planning on doing it with Ink! Make sure to use protection! She has no experience in it if you know what I mean!” Kali said it wisely with a wink. 

The green hero had to do a double take while the girls blushed, knowing what Kali meant. Soon, Midoirya’s cheeks flushed red as he understood what Kali is talking about. 

“EEEEH?!” Midoriya widens his eyes. 

Looks like Ink’s problem with Kali is settled.

------- Later that night  ------

It is dinnertime as Bakugo presents his dish to Ink.

“Here! My favorite sweet and spicy chicken.” Bakugo presents his dish to Ink after getting her to the hospital. “I have a thing for spicy food but I don’t want to upset your stomach so sweet goes well. I found this recipe with onion and radish that keeps it cool.” Bakugo explains his dish to her. The sweet and spicy chicken is not what you think. He use chicken breasts and uses the sweet and spicy seasoning to marinate the chicken, leaving it in the fridge for two hours so the juices to soak into the meat. Then he cooks the rice and adds some pickled plum into it to make each bite refreshing.

“Wow! That’s so cool! I love some spicy food!” Ink smiles happily. She goes to cut into her chicken and scoops up some rice then eats it. “Wow! So good! This is the best food I ever had! You’re like a chef, Bakugo! This helps me after the fight I had with Kali.”

“Heh.” Bakugo smirked as he can’t wait to tell how Ink likes his cooking. Take that you derp-face bastard and rat tail demon punk! I WIN!’ Bakugo thought while Ink eats, having no idea about this cook-off contest.

Meanwhile....

“Son of a bitch...” Rin growled. “I told you...he’s going to make a spicy dish! I just knew it!” He said making Yukio chuckle. “There, there, big brother! At least Ink likes your dish. Lunch is the most memorable meal.” He said cheering him up as he can.

“Damnit....” Denji muttered while Atsushi sighs. 

“Looks like it’s our turn tomorrow.” Said Ren while Midoriya laughs sheephisly. “Yeah...”

“I can take the breakfast.” Atsushi volunteered.

“Lunch for me.” Said Midoriya.

“Fair enough. I can take care of dinner then.” Said Ren, pushing his glasses up.

大家好! The stall selling fish soup and porridge also sells zha jiang mian (noodles with pork and bean sauce) and I wanted to try it. ML, MI, SC and I returned to the stall and I ordered my fix. What can I say? Every version so far has been amazing. The savoury sauce coats every strand after tossing, the noodles are chewy, the pork is tasty and, for this version, the Chinese spinach adds texture. What I also like is the little bowl of peppery broth, which appears to be the same one served with their ban mian (board noodles). This meal was very delicious, it kept me so full, I couldn't stomach dinner and it cost $4. Can't wait to return and try their other menu items!

Back to sushi because why not. I decided on an all-salmon meal and grabbed a tray of nigiri sushi as well as a tray of sashimi. After paying, I sat down to eat. This is my favourite way of eating salmon, especially on a scorching hot afternoon. It's hard to pick which I prefer, but sashimi probably wins by a small margin. I may have a full sashimi lunch down the road after I've tried other meal options at this Japanese corner. They have unagi and cooked scallops with rice as well as yakitori and rice bentos which look very tempting.

ML, SC and I returned to the Hakka yong tau foo stall because we couldn't get enough of the delicious, perfectly-seasoned pork used to stuff vegetables as well as tofu items and fragrant chilli sauce. Customers can also choose curry gravy instead of clear broth, but we like the broth. Besides the curry gravy might mask the taste of the pork. This time, ML and I skipped the noodles and ordered the larger serving of 6 pieces (the regular with noodles comes with 4 pieces). I can't decide which I like better, both were so tasty. But I think I'll order meepok again the next time because it's hard to resist my favourite noodles.

I'm still doing the 250 calorie challenges out of compassion for Palestinians in Gaza. I just don't share them as often. This genocidal war is still ongoing and the official death toll inches closer to 40,000 by the day. Starvation is spreading in the war-torn strip and my heart goes out to the Palestinians who continue to suffer so much. I also no longer trust countries which proclaim themselves as the champions of human rights whilst supplying weapons to Israel. What is committed against Palestinians is barbaric, cruel, wicked and downright evil and they're indirectly facilitating it.

These countries are so shameless, I can't even. So yeah, there's nothing left to say because at this point, I'm wholly disgusted. We've reached an age of depravation when the brutal murder of another human being is somehow celebrated and justified. These are very dark times for mankind and it makes me wonder how the rules based order serves humanity when thousands of innocent lives are ended in such barbaric ways. Some countries just don't deserve to lead the world. 下次见!

tokyo tohoku trip - day 8.

a weekend in tokyo, it’s certainly been a while. my friend and i went to nearby cafe for breakfast, cafe de crie, which serves japanese style western breakfast. i ordered the toast with broccoli soup with iced coffee. The toast is fluff and light, it goes well with the scrambled egg and ham. Broccoli soup is too watery though.

After a simple breakfast, i split up with my friend as she has to go for work, which i will join her in the evening for dinner, while i head to ginza to visit the art aquarium museum アートアクアリウム美術館. i bought the ticket online in advance and there’s so no queue and was not too crowded, i’m so glad. the museum is located inside mitsukoshi building and the entrance is slightly confusing when i arrived, however, the staff is helpful to point out how to reach there.

the art aquarium museum has lots of aquarium with various kind of goldfishes in various shapes of aquarium to present the fishes as art piece. the whole museum is dark as colorful lights are used as part of the presentation. I do like the atmosphere very much and it is actually very calming to just watch the goldfishes swim around. each aquarium has so many angles that you can enjoy the fishes, so you will definitely end up with tons of photos, as everything is very beautiful. i like the big aquariums a lot as it looks amazing and is ever changing. there’s also christmas tree in one section which is beautiful with different colors. the main art piece is a 360 installation which combines flowers and many small aquariums, which is super interesting and colorful. as i am an aquarium lover, it was definitely worth the visit, and you can stay here as long as you wish to. the souvenir store has lots of options but i find all the items quite expensive.

after having fun at the aquarium, i decided to head to lunch earlier as i feel that it is gonna be super crowded. 土鍋炊きご飯 おこめとおかず is a restaurant recommended by my friend, which serves japanese set meals and their main dish menu changes every day. i only waited for few minutes before getting a seat, but it was indeed packed. i ordered their lunch for the day, which has sashimi, saba shioyaki, fish head stew, miso soup and white rice. Fish are indeed very fresh and enjoyable, both raw and cooked and the stew is very flavorful that goes well with white rice. The meal is very enjoyable, miso soup is actually very nice with lots of tofu puff and some vegetables.

after lunch, i went to akihabara to help my friend with his trading cards. i spent a couple of hours here buying and selling trading cards at two different store. the area of akihabara is quite packed with people though. i definitely did a lot of walking by now and my legs felt extremely tired.

then, i head back to ginza for my own shopping, the main street of ginza is super crowded by now, there’s people everywhere, both for shopping and for photos as the main street is closed off from traffic during the weekends. all the branded good store has long queues because there’s just so many people wanting to go shopping. for me, i wanted to check out some cool stationery at G.Itoya, but the place is also crowded. as i go up each floor to check out the various sections, it was very difficult to navigate as the store is very narrow and there’s people everywhere. i decided to take a break at the cafe at the top floor - cafe stylo, which also had a very long waiting time.

i stayed in the cafe for quite a long time, watching the sunset from their window while resting my legs and enjoying my coffee and sweet potato fries. by evening, before going to meet my friend at the art gallery that she is at, i bought very nice christmas card from the first floor. it was still crowded but at least it was possible to move around.

my friend brought her friend and i to a korean bbq place, which has korean owners but the menu is tailored for japanese. we ordered few plates if various meat, and the kimchi is so good here. we also enjoyed the cold noodles at the end of the meal. the staff here is very friendly and the meat is so so good with perfect cuts. we were completely stuffed with so much good meat.

we went back to the art gallery to continue our chit chat for a while, it was a nice catch up as my last visit was 3 years ago, and the current exhibition they had on was very interesting too. i definitely had a good time with my friends that night, and after that, we took a bus back home.

exploring tokyo with such a busy crowd on a weekend is actually quite tiring. to be continued...

"you make the best coffee," your father would say affectionately, pressing a kiss on your mother's cheek as your 'ew' echoes around the kitchen.

"it's instant coffee, dear," your mother rolls her eyes good-naturedly, playfully shoving him off. "anyone can make it."

"it's different!" protests your father indignantly, as if he's prepared to defend his opinion with his life. "your coffee is unique. it's brewed with your love."

at this, your mother turns away to look at you, shaking her head. "your father is an idiot." there is no bite in her words, however, because she looks completely enamoured by the man who is dramatically sipping his instant coffee, swirling it in the Darlie mug that came with buying two tubes of toothpaste.

your mornings aren't quite like that, however. your mother wakes to her husband peppering kisses on the back of her neck; you wake to a void beside you and a ding! of your phone.

did you sleep well?

the slumber in your eyes makes you want to feel annoyed— but the words on the screen coax it out of you, leaving you with a buzzing warmth in your chest. there is no husband enveloping you with his body heat, but there is a husband across the phone screen, making his best out of the situation. it's honestly amazing— even 70,000 miles away, hajime can induce a lukewarm flush in your heart.

his seven words might not seem like much, but you know better. he texts you at exactly 6.47 in the morning— two minutes after your alarm goes off, which gives you sufficient time to roll around after you wake. 

there’s no way you can resist the smile dancing across your lips when your phone rings. ‘you have an incoming call’, your phone says in hajime’s voice, and you let the call go unanswered for a moment longer just to hear your husband try his best not to burst into laughter as he repeats the phrase. eventually, you slide your finger towards the green ‘receive’, pressing the speaker to your ear as you flop back onto the mattress. 

“good morning, sleepyhead.” his voice soothes you like a warm cup of mushroom soup, distributing a comfort you didn’t know you missed throughout your vessels and organs. “did you sleep well?” 

“yeah.” you mumble, feeling like a naive teenager living their first love when your heart performs five cartwheels in a row. for a moment, you consider signing your cardiac muscle up for the circus. “i missed you.” 

his laugh crackles through your speaker. “me too, darlin’. just a couple more weeks. hang on until then, alright?”

“have you eaten yet?” you ask, doing a quick mental calculation to figure out what time it is where he’s at. just about time for dinner. 

“yeah. instant noodles and microwavable dumplings from the convenience store. i’m best friends with the owner now,” he jokes, “i’m there every other night. i’ve tried out just about every food they have in there.” 

a frown crosses your lips. “when you get back, i’ll make all your favourites.” you declare, upset that your husband has to resort to eating cheap konbini foods. he’s doing his best from day-to-night, working his ass off to train that overseas volleyball team, giving his all to beat them into shape before the season starts. by the time he finishes work, he’s too tired to cook anything than microwavable dumplings. you’re starting to semi-wish that you went with him so he at least has decent food to eat. “i’ll make tofu and that udon you love.” 

“i’m looking forward to it.” hajime replies fondly before a robotic ding! goes off. “oh. my dumplings are done.” the line carries over footsteps, muffled by a pair of slippers, the hollow noise of colliding plates and the beeping of an annoying microwave that you feel like strangling. 

when you close your eyes, you can imagine your husband, phone pressed between his cheek and shoulder as he shuffles across his room, popping the microwave open and waving the steam away. he plates his dumplings with ease, picking the plate up with one hand as he holds his phone with the other. 

“alright, i’m back.” hajime lets you know, setting down his utensils on the plate. the sharp noises make you wince, but you don’t complain. “you should probably start getting ready for work.” 

“hmm.” you hum in reply, feeling reluctant. 

“i’ll call you again before you go to bed,” chuckles hajime, shoving a dumpling into his mouth. “and then i’ll call you tomorrow morning, and tomorrow night, and... what’s the word for the day after tomorrow?” the call blurbs out clicks and clacks as hajime picks up his phone, leaving the call screen to search up the word. 

“i get it, i get it. it’s fine.” you hastily stop him before he actually googles it. “i just... miss you a lot lately. that’s all.” 

he goes silent for a bit, and the insecurities seeded deep down inside you start to grow their roots. what if hajime starts finding you clingy and annoying? 

“i miss you too. more than i want to admit,” hajime confesses softly, sounding slightly vulnerable. “sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night and i want to talk to you, but then i turn around and—” he cuts himself off, sighing. “i want to call you, but you’re at work and i don’t want to disturb you.” 

you know him well enough to know that he’s pursing his lips, and the image of your husband pouting to himself makes a giggle erupt. 

“hey, i’m trying to have a sentimental moment here.” 

“oh, i know, i know. i’m sorry. it’s just— i suddenly imagined you pouting and i couldn’t help it. you’re adorable.” you explain, holding back the stragglers of laughter. “and hajime— you can text me when i’m at work. or you could call.” 

“yeah.” hajime sighs. “i hate not being able to talk to you face to face, though.” 

“me too, love.” you reply, smiling softly to yourself. “but you said it just now, right? a couple more weeks and we’ll see each other again. just hang on till then.” 

“hmm.” 

“i should go get ready for work now.” 

“yeah, you should.” hajime’s words and thoughts can be quite conflicting sometimes, because even though his words are agreeing with you, his tone states that he doesn’t want you to go. 

“the word for the day after tomorrow is overmorrow, by the way.” 

“oh! right.” 

“enjoy your dumplings and noodles.” 

“i will.” 

“and sleep early.” 

“yes yes.”

How The students of Class 1-A behave in the kitchen. Are they on par with Gordon Ramsay? Can they boil an egg correctly? Both? Neither? Find out! 

Aka I just really like domestic headcannons, okay? 

Aoyama Yuuga 

See, Aoyama boasts about how he’s an amazing cook 

He’s French, he’s got a reputation to uphold! 

But he is useless in the kitchen 

Whenever it’s his turn to cook, he goes down to a French bakery just far enough away from the school that people won’t likely go there, and buys food 

He will then put whatever he got into the oven or on the stove and tell everyone he made it 

The kitchen smells amazing, why would anybody doubt him?

Nobody questions the fantastic soups he serves, or the perfect croissants 

The one thing he can do, however, is assemble a mean charcuterie board

He always knows what goes with what 

He also knows the best wine pairings for his cheese, but Momo insists they make a tea pairing instead

He is a frequent guest at her tea times with Satou 

2/10 he’s cheating 

Ashido Mina 

Mina is an athlete, and as such eats really healthy 

In fact, her favourite foods are Okra and Natto 

She’s great at cooking delicious healthy foods and making them taste good 

Typically, her cooking is heavy on protein, and she likes cooking with tofu or chicken 

She can do very simple baking, and has quite the sweet tooth 

She and Satou sometimes make hard candy together, and have a lot of fun 

She is very messy when she cooks, and usually walks away without cleaning the kitchen 

8/10 for being a healthy queen, and a +1 for being amazing, but -2 for leaving the kitchen a mess

Asui Tsuyu 

She is canonically an amazing cook, because of her younger siblings 

She is used to hiding veggies in food, and knows how to make even the least appetizing foods seem gourmet 

She’s very quick when she cooks, and typically likes to have less-experienced cooks working alongside her so she can a) use it as a time to socialize, and b) help teach her classmates important life skills 

She’s very motherly as she cooks, and gentle as she corrects mistakes 

If she has to remake something because of someone else’s screw-up, she does so with a smile and uses it as a teaching moment  

She and the girls (along with Sero and Kaminari) have a day where they get together after class and make cute little bento snacks for everyone to take to class/internships along with notes covered in motivational quotes

8/10 she’d be fun to cook with

Iida Tenya 

This man has been focused on the correct way of being a hero 

And he wanted to make his quirk as strong as possible 

Aside from his favourite, beef stew, and a few other kitchen staples, the only dishes he knows how to cook have orange in them somehow 

His quirk is powered by oranges, he needs as much juice as he can get! 

From morning smoothies to delicious salads to meats flavoured with orange, Tenya takes pride in his cooking 

The problem is the rest of the class gets sick after their third day of orange-themed meals 

But Uraraka found a bin of them on sale so they can all suck it up 

If it’s not one of the above staples, or has no orange, Iida can’t make it 

He will somehow burn it or otherwise ruin it 

Poor bean 

7/10 orange you glad I didn’t give him lower? 

Uraraka Ochako 

Uraraka is the person who can stare into an empty fridge and pull out a three course meal 

She knows how to use spices to make even budget foods taste amazing 

She’s always put on grocery duty because she can sniff out bargains like a bloodhound 

She’s so good at couponing that the store often owes her money when she’s done

She also knows what it’s like to have literally 0 leftover money, so she is also used to having nothing

Lunch at UA is free, which gave her 6 meals a week she could count on 

For the other 15, she could survive entirely on one item from the grocery store, like peanut butter or instant noodles

The class does not let her cook when she’s in her second mode, lest they be served a single spoonful of peanut butter for dinner

8/10 for being wholesome, 4/10 for nutritional value please eat full meals! 

Ojirou Masahiro 

The most average cook 

Everything he makes is passable 

It’s not amazing, but it’s also not inedible 

He often follows recipes 

Gets a little obsessive with the ingredients of the recipe

Cooks slowly because he wants to do everything right 

Typically he and Hagakure cook together 

5/10 for an average cook 

Kaminari Denki 

He was pre-emptively banned from the kitchen because everyone was worried he would short out all of the appliances

Nobody thinks he can cook but is actually a chef that could give Bakugou a run for his money 

Once came out of the kitchen holding his “masterpiece” which was a triple decker pb and j that he’d stuck into the class’s panini press, ruining it (Momo made a new one and Aizawa never found out)

He cooks almost exclusively at 3 am and cleans the kitchen so well nobody knows that he was ever there 

Likes cooking western food like grilled cheese, burgers, and mac and cheese, but when he’s in the mood, he can cook up a mean traditional meal 

He likes fusion cuisine, and he likes changing what he cooks up regularly so he’s never bored 

The person who finds him cooking so late is either someone who wouldn’t care, like Todoroki or Deku, or someone nobody would ever believe, like Mina or Mineta 

Sero knows too, but hasn’t ratted him out because Kaminari’s food is amazing when he has the munchies

11/10 for midnight shenanigans 

Kirishima Eijirou 

Kirishima cannot cook to save his life 

Everything is always over seasoned and extreme, and he often burns things 

That is, unless he’s barbecuing 

He and Tetsutetsu both barbecue together, and they consider it super manly 

He can do any style of barbecue: Korean, American, Australian, Mongolian, you name it!

He can also make pretty much any type of dish (he usually gets help from his buddy Bakugou with the prep cooking if it’s involved) 

He also loves cooking over a campfire because he thinks that is also super manly 

He and Tetsutetsu hype one another up before they grill 

Once a week Classes A and B get together for a big BBQ meal, with Kendou and Bakugou helping with the cooking (Kendou is the only one from Class B who cooks, as the class’s big sister) 

Most of what he cooks has lots of meat in it, but he always makes sure to grill something plant-based for Koda, the class’s only vegetarian/vegan

9/10 for manly grilling, +1 for caring about dietary restrictions, +4 for being my husband 

Koda Koji 

Koda is vegetarian/vegan 

He doesn’t eat meat at all, and when he’s going to consume animal products, he makes sure to get the animal’s consent first (fun fact: this is why some people consider breast milk to be vegan, because the woman producing it can give consent for it to be consumed!) 

Due to his quirk, he’s allowed to keep animals on the school’s premises, and because of this has access to lots of resources for cooking 

He’s got a coop of chickens that lay eggs, a cow that produces milk, and he also has a small garden that he maintains to grow fresh vegetables to feed them with 

Ibara helps him maintain it, and absolutely adores playing with his animals, though she’d never admit that 

Whoever is cooking will usually make a portion of food without meat for Koda, but he’s equally happy to make it for himself 

He’s often in the kitchen baking treats for his animals (which Kaminari usually steals a few of and eats, even if he finds them gross)

11/10 please protect this precious angel 

Satou Rikidou 

He’s amazing at making anything sweet

He usually transforms savoury dishes into sweet ones by adding ingredients like maple syrup and lots of fruits 

His meals are always calorie bombs, and he typically bakes a cake or some other treat if it’s someone’s birthday 

He bakes something every day, and he’s more than happy to share, or teach someone how to bake a special treat, he doesn’t mind the company! 

He and Momo have tea dates every day, and he provides the snacks!

She tells him what tea they’ll have in advance so he can pair with it, or she’ll make a pairing if he baked his treat first 

Kaminari once convinced him he wanted to bake cupcakes for Jirou with him, but Satou ended up doing all the work while Kaminari iced them with backwards treble clefs 

Bakes sweets for classmates to cheer them up on hard days

As Koda is one of his best friends, he often has something vegan for him to enjoy on hand. He also often bakes with the ingredients that Koda’s animals produce (another fun fact: salmonella is non-existent in japan, so you can eat raw eggs!)

Shouji Mezou

He cannot cook anything on his own, but he is amazing at following directions and recipes

Many hands make for light work, so he’s the fastest cook in the class 

He is also usually on duty for larger meals

He’s great at tasting and telling you when a dish is missing something, but not great at knowing what exactly that something is

He’s the best sous chef, and really enjoys cooking as he finds it relaxing 

He especially likes doing the prep work, and will often volunteer to help chop veggies or prepare meats even when he’s not supposed to be on dinner rotation. 

Please give this boy a hug and tell him he did a good job, he needs more love 

10/10 for being the best sous chef, +1 for being a big sweetheart 

Kyouka Jirou 

Jirou is not interested in cooking 

She never has been 

She likes to participate in the bento nights purely so she can eat snacks and hang out with her friends 

She’s usually practicing one of her instruments as everyone else makes the bentos 

She and Momo are usually paired together for dinner duty 

And the two of them usually just get the class takeout 

3/10 cannot cook and doesn’t want to learn, +5 for being best girl 

Sero Hanta

Sero likes to cook exotic foods from all over the world 

He has a very adventurous palate, and (Latino Sero rights) he often cooks fusion foods marrying both his Latino and Japanese roots into delicious dishes 

He’s the kind of person who will try any food once, and he and Kaminari like to dare one another to eat weird foods 

Kirishima is in on it, and will sometimes ask Fatgum for recommendations of weird foods they can enjoy together

Sero also sometimes has Momo make kitchen appliances or utensils solely so he can make one, uber-specific food that he is craving

No, Momo, a tajine is necessary to cook this you don’t understand it’ll be delicious 

And he’s right, it’s always delicious 

When he’s cooking dinner everyone is excited

11/10 for being adventurous and creative +1 because of his smile 

Tokoyami Fumikage 

Tokoyami cannot cook to save his life 

Dark Shadow, however, can

They bustle around the kitchen together, and typically Dark Shadow gets excited when the shopping team find apples at the store, because that means they can make a dish with them (provided Uraraka lets them buy a few, that is) 

Dark Shadow makes a killer apple pie, and will typically order Tokoyami around to help with the prep cooking as they sniff around the kitchen and taste what’s cooking 

Shouji and Tokoyami typically cook together, as Shouji is one of the few people who can keep up with the entity’s eager orders 

4/10 for Tokoyami, 9/10 for Dark Shadow 

Todoroki Shouto 

He bonded with Fuyumi by learning how to cook 

She’d come to the dorms with a visitor’s pass every Sunday, or he’d go home when his father wasn’t around 

She liked to teach him recipes that their mother showed her how to make 

Most of what he knows how to make is very traditional Japanese cooking 

He’s not very good at seasoning, so he will often cook alongside someone who can taste the dish and tell him “add a little of x” 

This person is usually Sero, who keeps encouraging him to expand his culinary horizons 

Todoroki will not learn new recipes unless forcibly taught, and is fine with eating the same thing for weeks on end 

5/10 for a half-good, half-bad rating 

Hagakure Tooru 

Hagakure is an absolute terror in the kitchen 

People will freak out when they see a floating knife or ingredient, or when they hear cabinets open and close at random (even if she is wearing clothes, which is apparently a rule in the common areas)

The person she is cooking with inevitably bumps into or trips over her, and something always goes awry

He manages to avoid her, and they’re usually in sync with what they want to do 

She’s able to elevate his dishes from meh to wow, and absolutely loves to plate the dishes

Anything less and the dish is “inedible” (side note, also like Gordon, she’s never rude to servers, as she knows that it’s not their fault if the kitchen didn’t get the food right) 

Bakugou approaches the kitchen like a professional chef 

He cleans as he cooks, and always makes sure that his prep is done before he’s moving on to cooking the actual food 

He likes things spicy, but usually makes a more “Mild” (Iida got mad when he used the word “Pussy”) version of whatever he spices up 

He once refused to admit anything was wrong after Kirishima had knocked an entire bottle of chipotle chili powder into a pot of curry, and ate the entire thing himself, dying the whole time 

He’s clear with orders as he directs whoever is cooking at his side, but he will call them useless and ban them from the kitchen if they mess something up

I recently (well~like three months ago) got into this game called Mr Love: Queen’s Choice, and after doing some ‘research’ aka gaming, I felt confident enough to write something. So, here’s a little headcanon about a blissful Sunday morning with the boys~

Victor’s quite the workaholic, as we all know

like this man will be working 60-70 hours a week, often bringing work home with him 

you’ll be on the couch in pajamas and acting like a total bum while he’s literally next to you wearing glasses and breezing through 50 reports and documents

you steal his laptop and glasses when he starts criticising your report 

“Victor noooooooo~work mode OFF!” as you zoom past him with his prescription glasses (he got them fancy glasses with the blue light filter because he’s A WORKAHOLIC and he’s always staring at a computer)

needless to say, this man doesn’t usually have time to spare

sunday mornings are yours though

Victor doesn’t necessarily take the entire day off, but after a certain dummy’s whining, he has agreed to try and have a lie-in on sundays

he *usually* still wakes up before you, because he functions on like 5 hours of sleep (lemme tell y’all, it’s a curse and a blessing in one) 

Vic’s a total tsundere, but these moments definitely show off his #SoftCEO side

his little lovebug is sleeping peacefully, wearing one of his pyjama shirts (I bless you with the headcanon that Victor sleeps in silk pyjama pants sans shirt because he runs HOT)

actually, you’re drooling a little bit but even though Victor’s going to pretend he’s annoyed, he never is

you take a shower and belt your favourite song that’s playing from the built-in speaker (did Victor get a built-in speaker because you thought it was cool? yep. did you ask? nope. did he do it anyways? yehep.) while he goes through his simple morning routine

you probably have more steps in your skincare routine, but he uses a serum, cleanser, moisturizer and some eye cream on the daily

has given you permission to do his skincare at night whenever you both have time

to reciprocate, he dries your hair after your shower you guys HAVE listened to the Right Beside You ASMR, right? ...it’s on YT for free because we’re poor, i know

also canon, blowing raspberries on Victor’s bare back while he’s brushing his teeth will make him choke on toothpaste. tested and approved by MC

he hangs around and waits for you to get ready if he’s already done, you do the same. time is something Victor knows all too well, so the precious time he has, he wants to spend with you.

you guys DON’T shower together in the morning because really you’re not getting cleaner ahhh author-nim should really stop

afterwards, you get dressed in some relatively casual clothes (i’m talking a dress shirt without a tie or a polo shirt because no way that this man owns actual t-shirts) and have a simple breakfast

he cooks, obviously. 

always makes a balanced, Chinese breakfast (congee or wonton, noodles, tofu pudding, etc.) because he wants you two to start the day well, even on a slow sunday

also, he travels a lot, so he likes eating Chinese food whenever he’s home

ahh...waking up with Victor just sounds like a dream

Lucien

i’m a bit biased on this bitch because he was my first favourite in the game so this might get long. might not. just,,,we’ll see

Lucien is a bit like Victor, where he doesn’t sleep much and works a lot

On the other hand, his work is...ehem...shadier, so he usually works in his office when he’s at home

you’ll both have your own space to do whatever you need to do

days off for Lucien are rare. he usually powers through until he drops

for someone who constantly reminds you to take care of yourself, he’s mediocre at doing exactly that

after getting to know him better, which wasn’t an easy feat because damn this man has more layers than an onion he’ll also make you cry more bUUT we’re not ready to unpack that suitcase, you start noticing when he needs a day off. often even before he notices

you lock his office door and force him to take the FULL day off at least

he could technically open his office again, but he loves you and he’ll humour your attempts

Lucien wakes up before you. always. you’ve seen him asleep like 3 times in your entire relationship. 

Luci sleeps like 8 hours,,,a week.

he watches you sleep i feel like that makes too much sense for his character. we love a creepy boy. and wholeheartedly feels at rest with your sleeping figure by his side

in his sleep, Lucien lies on his back, holding you by the waist as you sleep on top of him. your leg is often slung around his middle, so you’re enveloping him. he likes the weight of you on top of him; it keeps him grounded and he likes feeling like he’s yours as much as you are his.

on another note, Lucifer—ah whoops—sleeps butt naked. i honestly can’t imagine him wearing clothes in bed. he’s not shy about his body and feels absolutely no need to cover up for his significant other. 

you, however, don’t usually sleep naked. well...nowadays you end up sleeping naked more often than not because alright author-nim’s horrible. can’t help it, he’s a fucking scorpio?

because you guys take a day off, Lucien’s content with waiting and watching until you wake up

he feels you stir on his chest and honestly your drowsy eyes make him swoon

“Already awake, my beautiful butterfly?”

his slightly husky morning voice *really* does things to a person tbh

you guys stay in bed for a good half hour after you wake up, just cuddling and talking, also sneaking in a kiss here and there

you have the same habit of tracing each other’s bodies with your fingertips

his fingers flutter over your waist, you trace his chest or hands with your index again, it’s a very grounding experience to Lucien

when you do get up and head to the bathroom, first thing you do is shower together

he likes washing your hair

bathroom bits might happen, but surprisingly, it’s not a thing that happens a lot so don’t come at me. we’re being wholesome

Lucien’s incredibly intimate and his love language is touch. Yes, he has a way with words but he’s also a really good manipulator

he’s used his words for evil too often and therefore can’t trust words anymore. so he uses physical intimacy as a way to show love.

Lucien has a skincare routine of dermatologically approved products. a double cleanse, serum, essence and moisturizer. he uses anti-age sometimes to prevent later wrinkles.

they’re also one of the reasons why he smells clean and fresh

will tickle you when you’re rinsing your mouth. you’ve sprayed water all over the bathroom mirror before. he loves the reaction. 

if you’re having a day off, you’ll probably just wear sweatpants and a t-shirt or a sweater. Lucien’s closet is relatively plain but clean. he has the best cable-knit sweaters/cardigans though.

your breakfast consists of western things like yogurt or oatmeal. Lucien likes having fruit at the start of the day

the rest of the day is spent relaxing and lounging, walking in the park, biking, reading, drawing, whatever you’d like

maaan...i wish i had more days off

Gavin

Gavin’s actually a decently laid-back person on weekends

like, sure he has to work a lot, but his job doesn’t necessarily force him to work from home, so you pretty much have his full attention at home but also he can’t bear to not give you his full attention so what are we expecting

the nasty thing about Gavin being a police officer is that sometimes, he gets called up and needs to work at unconventional hours

also, he gets injured. most of his injuries are minor, but that doesn’t stop you from worrying.

but anyways, he’s not a total busy bee when he’s at home, and relaxing isn’t exceptional

sunday mornings are...well...active. Birdcop goes on a run/hits the gym every morning, so he’s awake by 6am. what did y’all think i was going to write

afterwards, he takes a quick shower and joins you in bed again. 

Gavin sleeps in a pair of basketball shorts and a singlet. he’s somewhat shy about sleeping shirtless, and god forbid he sleep naked. but it’s all good and he respects your boundaries. besides, he’s comfortable in his sleep and that’s all that matters.

you spoon in your sleep. sometimes, he’s the big spoon because he likes being able to ‘protect’ you in his sleep. other times, he relishes in the comfort of being the little spoon and feeling you pressed up against his back. 

very important headcanon! you’ve learnt to sleep with the bedroom window open. on workdays, Gavin gets home late and jumps right into the bedroom. it’s become a typical habit for you two, although you used to be grumpy about not being able to sleep with the noises of traffic. 

you’re usually awoken by the sound of the shower and Gavin’s humming it’s canon that he hums now, bitches. also I bet his singing voice is amazing

so it’s less ‘sleeping in’ and more ‘lounging in bed like the lazy bastards you are’ i’m kiDDING

if he’s able to, Gavin might convince you to go on a run with him....but let’s be honest, you rarely agree

Gavin’s a total cuddlebug though, so be prepared to spend the next forty-five minutes in the tightest hug ever (to be fair, you’re not complaining)

he’s completely soft for you and you’ll have to wrestle out of his grip to get to the bathroom

you don’t shower in the morning, so everything’s pretty quick

Gavin doesn’t actually have a good skincare regiment tbh...he’ll slap on some cream and that’s it. probably washes his face in the shower with body wash...AND HIS SKIN STILL LOOKS AMAZING

you like making funny faces in the mirror while brushing your teeth and making Gavin laugh while he’s watching you in the doorway. he loves how you just make his day with the smallest things.

you guys both dress in really casual clothing, like hoodies and shorts/sweatpants/pj pants unless you’re going somewhere

Gavin has them grey sweatpants, if you know what I mean okay I’ll chill, sorry~

you wear his shirts a lot because they’re super big on you and Gavin secretly not-so-secretly thinks you’re adorable in them (a good thing about Gavin is that he’s easy to read; he blushes rather quickly)

i see Gavin as a ‘bun for breakfast’ kind of person. he picks them up at the stall a couple of miles away when he heads home. sometimes he does so running, other times...well he’s not called Birdcop for nothing

you guys have 2 buns each for breakfast because they’re delicious 

lounge time is often spent gaming or cleaning the house (you’re both busy people and Gavin tends to get messy because he just chucks clothes on the floor after a hard workday)

you make the most out of your sunday, hoping Gavin doesn’t get called in

Kiro

Kiro, unsurprisingly, has an incredibly busy schedule

one that, similar to Gavin, isn’t really decided by himself

i suppose his situation is a tad bit worse than Birdcop’s, since his workdays don’t even actually end when he gets home. he constantly practices choreos, singing, etc. at home

so, full days off are few and very, very far between

this makes them extra precious

it helps to have a lazy morning once in a while though (in Kiro’s case, lazy sundays are most likely a bi-weekly thing)

you wake up first! Kiro needs his beauty sleep, and damn this boy can knock in 16 hours of sleep if need be

you’ll probably lay in bed for a while and then attempt to get up and ready for the day

until...you feel Kiro’s arm tugging you back

for a skinny, lithe boy, he’s remarkably strong. he pulls you back to bed with the groggiest, cutest sleep-laced voice EVER 

“Mmm, Miss Chips, it’s not time to wake up yet, is it?” 

he snuggles into you and refuses to wake up unless you give him kisses

during the night, Kiro sleeps in actual pyjamas with cute characters on them. when he feels lazy, he’ll probably just slip on a t-shirt and some boxer shorts, but he likes putting in the effort to wear matching couple pyjamas

Kiro cuddles with you 24/7, and sleep makes little difference here. he’s often the little spoon because he does like feeling your presence and your grip on him. he moves around when sleeping, so you might end up out of each other’s embrace, but Kiro subconsciously always touches you in some way or form, like holding hands or intertwining legs. he’s a man with many identities and needs your presence as a reassurance that he’s still the man that you love

he loves to pepper your face with kisses after getting home from rehearsals/concerts, claiming that it gives him energy

you do the same in the morning, anything to hear that sweet giggle of his

he’s deceptively cute though, and innocent morning kisses tend to spiral into...something more let’s just be honest, his stamina is something else entirely i’M SORRY 

morning exercise? check. Hotel? Trivago. non-sponsored~

you guys don’t shower in the morning. Kiro’s used to showering after practice, which is late at night, and you shower in the evenings to help you relax

however, on a rare occasion, you’ll draw a nice bath together and play around with bubbles and scented bath bombs so fun and relaxing

Kiro totally has a 14-step skincare regiment. you don’t get that beautiful baby-smooth skin without some effort.

he has the best ‘mid-range to high-end’ products on the market, and loves sweet and floral scents for his skincare and makeup. you guys try to line up each other’s routines to be able to do them together every morning.

Kiro also has a huge bedhead in the morning! it’s your job to get this sleepyhead styled for a fun day

even Kiro’s casual loungewear is top-notch hip and trendy. he has fun sweatpants with chains, belts, patches, you name it. he likes holding a little fashion show with you, no matter what you two are wearing

old jeans? strut it. thrifted shirt? vogue, honey.

Kiro’s on a strict diet, so usually he has a smoothie and some tofu pudding for breakfast. on occasion, you’ll indulge him in something decadent, like French toast or pancakes. on moments like these, you swear he loves you juuuuuust a little more but don’t tell Savin!

you guys are a relatively active couple, so unless you’re inside gaming or busy working, you’ll spend some time in thrift stores or karaoke bars, arcades, fun fairs,...

just thinking about Kiro brightens my day...

Well, in the meantime… Since we’re not going out too often at present time, why not enjoy ourselves with their delicious food at home? The local cuisine from the largest and northernmost prefecture of Japan is simply mouth-watering and often a perfect plan for cold days. Today we will make one of their undeniably wonderful dishes: Ishikari Nabe.

Basically, Ishikari Nabe is a traditional hotpot recipe that brings together the best ingredients from the seas and land of Hokkaido. Mixing salmon, potatoes, corn, as well other assorted seafood and vegetables, the dish is served in an appetizing butter miso stock.

The origins of Ishikari Nabe are most likely connected to the fishermen from Ishikari River in Hokkaido – it is possible to trace a connection between the dish and another traditional recipe called Sanpei Jiru (三平汁), a miso soup with salmon cut leftovers and cooked vegetables.

The Kindaitei (金大亭) in Ishikari city is known for being the first restaurant to serve Ishikari Nabe on their menu. Other often recommended seafood ingredients are shrimps, crabs, mussels and white fish fillets. Of course, as I usually say, look out for what is fresher and more available in your area.

For the shime (also known as the “end of the meal”), well… What goes best with that amazing broth? It’s very interesting, when you google it, the online debate on which is the best shime for ishikari nabe is quite never-ending.

Traditionally, Hokkaido nabes uses udon noodles or zōsui. However, nowadays many people prepare/order ramen noodles for shime, since the worldwide famous Hokkaido miso ramen is also very beloved dish. Another even more modern approach is… pasta noodles! Ingredients

1L of dashi stock (katsuobushi and kombu)

2½ tbsp miso

2 tbsp sake

2 tbsp mirin

Salt, sugar

20 g of butter

100g of boneless salmon pieces

50g of scallops

50g of oysters

25g of salmon roe

1 potato, cooked until soft

1 corn cob, cooked and without the cob

¼ of hakusai (chinese cabbage), cut in slices

1 carrot, cut in slices

4 shiitake mushrooms

a bunch of shimeji mushrooms

White portion of negi, cut diagonally

Half square of tofu

Ramen noodles

Steps

First, prepare the dashi stock.

Stir in the miso, the mirin, and the sake to the dashi. Taste test and adjust seasonings to taste.

Prepare the ingredients. Cut the carrot and the negi in diagonal slices, cut the tofu block in bite-size cubes.

Arrange the ingredients in the pot.

After that, turn the heat on to medium-low and add the hot stock.

Place the butter on top and put the lid on.

Let the ingredients cook until done.

Finally, add the scallops and the oysters, letting them cook very briefly (until tender) in the broth.

Serve the dish with salmon roe and white rice.

Tips

If you have a whole salmon in hands, try using the head and the bones for an extra flavorful dashi stock.

Do not let the seasoned dashi stock boil, as this affects the miso flavor.

It’s very easy to overcook some of the seafood included in this recipe – for instance, pay a good attention to scallops and oysters. Also, do not add the fresh roe directly to the boiling broth, overcooked roe is not flavorful as its fresh version.

Instructions

Crush the peanuts with mortar and pestle or use a food processor to ground the peanuts. Set aside.

In a small bowl, add the tamarind pulps plus 1/4 cup warm water. Set aside for 15 mins. Squeeze and extract the juice from the tamarind pulp and discard. Keep the tamarind juice.

Chop the Spice Paste ingredients coarsely, transfer to a food processor and blend until very fine. Add a few tablespoons of water to help blending.

In a sauce pan, heat the oil on medium heat and add the spice paste.

Add the remaining two strips of lemongrass in the spice paste. Fry the spice paste until aromatic and smell spicy.

Add the ground peanuts, water, tamarind juice, salt, sugar, coriander powder and sweet soy sauce. Stir to combine well.

Reduce the peanut sauce on medium-low heat, stir continuously for about 5-10 minutes or until the peanut sauce thickens to your desired consistency, or until the oil and the peanut sauce separates.

Let cool at room temperature and serve with satay.

Lena was displeased with how quickly her own power had worn her out. Her capability had started to go into her head, as Pepper often told her happened to Tony. The amount of stamina it had taken had forced her to feel like she had not slept in days. She was lucky to have Peter to get her somewhere safe. She woke up in his arms, happy that his presence had almost guaranteed her a dreamless sleep.

The shared dream that they had was unsettling. Neither of them brought it up because they could mutually feel the odd feeling it placed in the back of their throats. It could be a smart idea to mention something about it to Tony, as it was a form of premonition she had never experienced before. Previous to this, she could explain everything they went through together, but this was oddly out of place and misshapen. She wanted to make sense of it, but there was a roadblock preventing her from that.

Her face was buried in between the bottom of his chin and the curve of his shoulder. Her eyes were closed, but she was not asleep. She was still not a fan of sleep, and it seemed to be the only state she could maintain for the past few days, but they had proved to be the most intense thus far out of her career fighting crime. It was strange to desire something that usually repulsed her. Lena let her thumb trace the outline of Peter's top lip, going back and forth until he stopped her, grabbed her by the waist, and used some force to roll with her off the bed. With a light squeal and a thud, his body took most of the impact, leaving her lying heavily on top of him.

Strands of hair fell onto his face, and he laughed softly while swatting them away. She placed a gentle kiss on his nose and stood, knowing that they both still had a lot of homework to get done, and it was probably past dinner time by now. Realizing she was still in her suit, she pressed its release button and let it rid itself of her body, falling into a small pile on the floor. Already knowing where to find Peter's lounge clothes, she pulled on one of his three Midtown Tech hoodies (how many did he need?) and the pair of sweatpants he had accidentally shrunk in the wash one time. She still had to tie the drawstring pretty tight, but it was better than them almost falling down.

Lifting her bag over her shoulder, Lena wandered into the dining room, Peter following close behind. Aunt May was in the living room, eating out of a takeout container and watching a movie Lena recognized but could not place a name to. It filled her with a bit of excitement. That was a perfectly reasonable and human thing to do, something that Peter did quite often.

"There's teriyaki in the fridge, kids!" May called, eyes still glued to the television.

This meal was common in the Parker household, and Lena knew that despite not having been there for a while. Peter had once told her that the people that pick up the phone practically know their orders by heart, and often liked to throw in free potstickers or rice because of how loyal their patronage was. Lena had only eaten this takeout once with them, but she remembered it fondly.

Among the many tendencies of humans that confused Lena, their eating of other animals, especially fish. She could not stand to think about the idea. Of course, eating had not been a habit of hers until she moved onto land, but when the carnivorous ways were explained to her she found it repulsing. Tony called her a vegetarian, so she told other people that was what she was too. In her mind, she was just caring for her fellow living creatures.

May never forgot that Lena did not eat meat, and got her what was called "tofu fried rice," which was a large plate of vegetables, rice, and compressed noodles designed to replace meat. Lena opened her American Politics textbook and laid it to the side, skimming the words while spooning rice into her mouth. Peter silently ate his dinner while doing math problems. It was a silent routine that they had followed before, but this time they could exchange thoughts to each other and even help each other out. It had taken a minute for Peter to accept that she was his academic equal - it was almost unbelievable how quickly she learned - but they became more productive once he did.

A thought crossed her mind, and it sat behind her lips, begging her to bring it up to Peter. She gave her best effort to hide it from his mind, but he caught onto the way her mood felt off and stopped writing, the pencil's squeaks coming to a halt and getting her attention. She lifted her eyes but not her head, looking at Peter who had set his pencil behind his ear.

"Everything all right?" he asked, leaning back in his chair, arms folded across his chest.

"What promise?"

"Hm?"

"You made Tony a promise. What was it?"

Peter laughed slightly, grabbing his pencil and leaning forward again, continuing to write, giving off the energy that it was not a big deal, but she would beg to differ. It had been a prominent thought in his mind that had been loud enough to almost disable her.

"It's really nothing, Lena. Mr. Stark made me promise he would call him if we encountered the Arsonist again, so when we saw him, I panicked and had to call him pretty quickly. That's all."

But that was not all. She felt the wall Peter was putting in front of the missing piece. She pried at it, needing to know. After their monumental kiss, Peter had quickly discovered through the new mutual connection how to only navigate Lena's mind, and also prevent her from seeing what he did not want her to. He had every right to his own privacy, it was just new to not have complete access. It was never a responsibility she abused, but she did not like it when Peter kept things from her.

"You kept a lot of things from me," he winked and kept doing his math. She rolled her eyes.

"You know why-"

"Yeah, yeah. You're right," he sighed, "Mr. Stark gave me the 'dad talk,'" he put air quotations around "dad talk." She saw a recent memory flash across Peter's brain; a menacing, middle-aged man in a car, and Peter's body filling with rage and fear. Even with the memory, the term completely lost her.

"Your da-I mean Mr. Stark. Mr. Stark doesn't want me to get you hurt in any way. So-"

"Why would I get hurt? I can take care of myself."

"No not physically hurt-"

"Is that not kind of odd to assume that I cannot take care of myself?"

Peter hesitated, struggling to find what he was trying to say, "Neither of us meant it like that. You make a great point, though. You're very capable of taking care of yourself."

"Then how did you mean it?”

"Emotionally. Negative emotions can be painful. You've seen all of those romance movies with May and me," Peter's lips were growing tight.

She recalled the genre, specifically remembering a film where after getting broken up with, a young woman spent three months of her life in a depression. She cried, isolated herself, and essentially ruined her own life. She never wanted to become a shell of a human. Life had become refreshing for her, and Peter played a large role in that. He was a part of her purpose in life. Every bit of her DNA was meant to be with him. Anxiety took ahold of her as the thought of him leaving her sat in her brain.

"No! Lena!" he grabbed the hand that had been sitting in her lap, "I'm not going anywhere."

The anxiety faded, and a softness replaced it, Peter's kind eyes confirming that everything would end up working out.

...

Lena made it back home by 10:00 PM, knowing that she probably was not going to fall asleep that night. Typically, at the most, she spent 4 hours sleeping, and that still felt like a lot.

On her way up to her bedroom, Tony's AI, F.R.I.D.A.Y. spoke up, almost startling her.

"Miss Potts, Mr. Stark would like to see you in his garage."

Lena frowned, wishing to spend some time with just herself. She plopped her bag onto her bed and took the elevator to the main floor, walking outside to get to the building where Tony kept all of his cars, his Iron Man suits, and the AIs that operated whatever his current project was. There were nights where after Lena had finished her fight training for the day where she would come and sit in the shop: sometimes silently, sometimes asking questions about what he was doing. It bonded them in a subtle way.

"Kid," he said as she pressed her hand on the sensor to get into the room.

"Tony," there was an edge to her voice. She had not liked the way he and Peter had argued on the Midtown Tech football field, and she was wedged in between their silly fight. There was no side for her to take, she just wanted them both to get along and work together.

"You sound ticked. Everything okay?" Tony was concerned, but Lena could not decipher why.

"I am okay. Is there something you needed from me? I have homework," it was a white lie, but a lie, still. She just needed to relax in her pool, let her mind meld with the water. She did not want to spend her free time getting lectured.

Tony kept working, not looking up at her, "Take a seat."

She let out a sigh and sat, watching him hammer into a piece of metal. Looking at him, still frowning, she took the nanotech bead that she had put in her pocket and let it tie her hair up, annoyed with it continuously falling in her face and sitting on her neck.

"You're smart, kiddo. I don't want you seeing me as the bad guy."

"I do not-”

"Peter and I go back and forth because we are both passionate people," he gave the metal a final whack and set the hammer down. He wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead and made eye contact with Lena. "One day, I'll teach you how to drive. You'll take driver's ed. They're going to drill it into your head that the only way to get better at it is through experience," he was making gestures with his hands, using it as a method to get his point across. "My point is that sometimes it's hard for him to see the big picture. Where I see you two getting hurt, he sees a new mission. Which will be great once he's had more experience, but all he needs is that experience."

She saw his point. She had seen his point even before he had spoken it. All she wanted was for Tony to say that to Peter, rather than get irritated in the middle of a situation. She bit at the inside of her mouth and locked her jaw. She was not in a particular mood to squabble. Her counter argument could be brought to his attention tomorrow morning.

"You are making sense.”

"Good!" Tony's shoulders released their tension, and he tapped a few times on the holographic screen in front of his face, then shut it down, it disintegrating. "School tomorrow?"

"Yeah. They are questioning all the kids that got sent home yesterday."

"What's your alibi?"

"I tranced them into thinking that we left before getting to the lunchroom. You pulled us both out of class for something that had to do with the press."

"Anything specific?"

"If I got too specific the trance would thin and be easier to see through. It is similar to lying."

Tony snickered, "Okay. If people ask, say it was your Teen Vogue feature."

"The one coming out next month?"

"Yeah. Teenagers generally won't question it."

"You are going to generalize all teenagers?"

He had been putting away his tools and calibrating some of his AIs, and hearing the combative phrase brought him to a halt, "I guess so, yeah.”

"The human brain is extremely various. Every thought process of each human being is so vastly different that it would be nearly impossible to generalize any sort of human population."

Tony smiled, a warm genuine smile and Lena felt the pride. It was strong and open, he wanted her to feel it. He did not fully understand her empathic abilities, but once in a while, he made extra effort to let her know how he was feeling. He was not skilled in verbalizing his emotions, but he definitely felt them.

"That's a good observation. That observation may question the entirety of what sociology is, but it was smart regardless.”

Lena let herself stare at the relaxed expression in Tony's face that was so extremely rare, then pushed herself out of her chair, standing.

"I am going to go to bed now.”

"Goodnight, kid."

Double Double

Located at the Empire Centre in Richmond, I had heard rave reviews from a coworker about their wonton noodle soups and congee. Immediately, Congee Noodle King came to mind so I set my expectations to a similar level...but boy was I blown away. I’ve found a new favourite spot!

As an aside, I did not order ALL of this in one go as that would be insane. These photos and experiences took place over the course of several visits. To start, we have Prawn Wonton Noodle Soup (7.90). It’s surprisingly difficult to find a bowl of this kind of soup around these days, so I found the strong prawn flavouring of the broth to be quite comforting. The wonton themselves had a decent crunch to them and the noodles had a good chew factor.

Next up, we have a plate of deep fried silver fish (11.90). These had a hint of garlic and were crispy and nicely salted. Keep in mind that for the most part, you’re just going to taste the batter more than anything as the fish are so tiny to begin with. These go well with a bowl of congee or within a noodle soup.

Thirdly, we have a small bowl of Pork and Preserved Egg Congee (7.50). The congee was decently creamy and was made even more flavourful with the addition of salted peanuts, the strong flavouring of preserved egg, and the salty pork bits.

Nothing quite goes as well with congee as a Chinese Donut (2.95). These were very crispy and not oily. Get dipping!

Another great congee pairing are Wok Fried Radish Cakes (7.50). These were crispy on the outside while managing to be super creamy on the inside. They’re topped with XO sauce and a pinch of salt.

Very similar to the Chinese Donuts as shown above are their Chinese Donuts wrapped in Rice Roll. Above is a half order (3.95). They’re still crispy on the outside and gently draped with rice wrapping on the outside and drizzled with a light sweet sauce.

Next on the docket are Deep Fried Tofu with Enoki Mushroom in Oyster Sauce (9.50). These were AMAZING. the sauce is so simple yet so delicious. Each egg tofu was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. even when they’ve been sitting in the sauce for awhile. There was a surprisingly decent amount of enoki mushroom here to give added texture.

The last dish that I’ve tried here is their Crispy Sweet & Sour Pork, Regular Order (14.90). According to the menu, it’s “So Good” lol. It definitely was too as when they arrived, they hit that delicate balance between retaining the crispiness of the pork while having it absorb just enough sauce to give it flavour. The regular sized portion may not look huge, but it’s a decent amount of meat here, especially for 2 people.
