#it doesnt matter if there IS a conspiracy. if it was faked. staged. whatever.

Note
There is a theory that the whole exchange between Jared, Jensen and Erik was just staged to ensure interest in the prequel.
For example here:

What do you say to this ITK ? It sounds quite logical to me what she/he says, but it would mean that Jared (and Jensen) did not tell the truth. Even though I can imagine that a lot of what is posted on social media is fake, it would still sting me that Jared and Jensen played with us fans like that.
I went cross eyed reading this and by the time I got 1/3 of the way through I’m thinking, “This is a J2 fix-it fic, I thought the Anon said it’s from an ITK…..gawddamnit I did just read a fix-it fic”.
This may sound “logical” to you for the same reason why conspiracy theories exist, to try to make sense out of the chaos. Remember, fiction has to make sense, but real life often don’t. It’s why conspiracy theories tend to flourish during crisis.
"whatever the purpose was, it worked out". Oh really, how convenient that the “itk” didn’t know what the “purpose” was but they know for certain “it worked out”. Okay there buddy. Do you know where the only time that is true? In the Bible!
First, IF it all was staged, then a real ITK who are on the side of J2 & EK would never tell you it was staged in the first place because fans would be furious. Second, saying this is staged is like saying the YANA trainwreck was stage. YANA wasn’t successful and all but forgotten except by the walking wounded fans still suffering from wartime flashbacks. Third, staged feuds don’t start and end in 12 hours, they get dragged out for at least a week to give MSM time to notice and pick it up for free PR. Most times “feuds” don’t “end” but left “unresolved” so fans will keep talking about it and drum up hype and buzz.
For better or for worse, the ‘prequel gate’ was just bad PR, Hollywood is littered with graveyards of bad PR ideas and even worse marketing ideas.
