OKAY SO I have way too many WIPs to write a role reversal fic and I meant to just yap about my au and ended up writing 2k words about it if you want to read it below...
oblivious shizun luo binghe / oblivious disciple shen yuan
First of all i've been reading a lot of role reversal fics lately but big shout out to ao3 user anqlbean for this fic because it really gave me "fuckboy shizun binghe, hiding that he's a demon lord" brain rot
Okay so anyway. In fair cang qiong sect where we lay our scene-
Luo Binghe is the Qing Jing peak lord. He’s also the heavenly emperor of the demon realm. No one knows both of his identities except for mobei jun and a handful of other people from his inner circle. It’s risky for a demon to hide as one of the cultivation world’s most prominent figures, but he likes having the best of both worlds!
Enter Shen Yuan: Shen Yuan's cultivation history is somewhat similar to Shen Jiu's in that he started cultivating late and joined Qing Jing well into his teens. He’s about 16 when he becomes Binghe’s student, but the thing is… Luo Binghe is kind of just the peak lord in name.
He spends his free time getting laid in the next town or going on an adventure with some hot demoness instead of giving classes. He’ll go on cultivation missions and take requests from villages and whatnot, but he doesn't bother teaching his disciples, just gives them a cultivation manual and tells them to figure it out. Half the time when students greet him on the peak he just nods because he doesnt even remember the disciple’s name. It’s fine though, once every few months he’ll take a break from all the one night stands and actually take a student along with him on a mission, just to keep the sect leader from complaining. “See, I teach my kids! Last month I took what’s-his-name on a night hunt!”
By the time Luo Binghe bothers to take Shen Yuan along for a mission, Shen Yuan is already 20 and has been on the peak for 4 years. Luo Binghe barely knows he exists, and he justs wants to collect this herb he was tasked with retrieving, send Shen Yuan back with it, and then get nasty with the woman back in the village who gave them directions to the cave that grows it.
Unfortunately for Binghe, the cave is also home to one of the few flowers that can affect a demon lord. Binghe can’t move as he falls to the ground and hears his student yell “Shizun!” and run over.
They can hear monsters nearby so Shen Yuan’s two options are to 1) heal his shizun by taking advantage of Binghe's body or 2) abandon him to die and leave by himself. Binghe has experienced both multiple times, and is ready for either one. He's not ready for Shen Yuan to choose a third option that no one has ever chosen before: heaving Luo Binghe onto his back, transferring him qi, and using every bit of strength to carry him to safety.
By the time they return to the cave’s entrance, Shen Yuan only has enough energy to use a talisman signalling the sect for help before they both pass out.
When Luo Binghe wakes up, the Qian Cao peak lord is asking him how he feels while his head disciple is yelling at a sheepish Shen Yuan for doing something reckless again! Apparently this is not the first time Shen Yuan has exhausted himself for the sake of another person.
Over the next few days, he can’t think of anything other than his student.
(Also, he secretly feels kind of… angry??? Was his body so unappealing to Shen Yuan that he'd rather half-die than dual cultivate with him?? He's not sure why he's so pissed off by the idea, it's not like he's ever wanted to dual cultivate with a man before, but still…)
Finally he decides he has every right to be curious about shen yuan, that’s his disciple! Unfortunately while Binghe was ignoring Shen Yuan's existence for the past few years, his disciple has managed to build up… a reputation at Cang Qiong.
Oh Shen Yuan selflessly saved Luo Binghe? Big deal, saving people is an average Tuesday for Shen Yuan, apparently! “He stopped my qi deviation” this, “he threw me out of a poisonous demon's way” that.
For the first time ever, Luo Binghe is not special. If anything, he has less pull with Shen Yuan than anyone else at Cang Qiong, because everyone else knows Shen Yuan better. Luo Binghe doesn’t know Shen Yuan’s birthday, but the rest of his students make sure to throw Shen Yuan a party every year to thank him for all his tutoring. Binghe is SO far behind, which is a feeling he hasn’t felt in YEARS.
About a month after the mission, he finally sees Shen Yuan sparring alone. Luo Binghe walks over, acting unbothered and nonchalant even though he's screaming internally. He greets his disciple and says, “This master has yet to properly thank Shen Yuan for his assistance at the cave… join me at the bamboo house tonight.”
Shen Yuan apologizes, says he has important plans but would love to join him another night, then spends the rest of the day off the peak with the An Ding head disciple.
Luo Binghe is flabbergasted. He's less important than an An Ding disciple???? Really??? Fucking An Ding?????
After that, Luo Binghe……. He isn’t stalking Shen Yuan, despite what Liu Mingyan (Xian Su peak lord) might say with excited eyes. He’s just keeping an eye on this interesting disciple he never knew he had! In secret.
He walks in on Qingge and Shen Yuan “sparring” and sees the exact moment Shen Yuan oversteps, loses his balance and goes tumbling on top of Liu Qingge. Binghe storms over, picks Shen Yuan up by the back of his robe like a cat, and physically separates the two of them. The two disciples gawk at how weird that was and he has no idea how to come up with an excuse for whatever the hell that just was.
Instead he asks what they’re doing.
Shen Yuan, being polite and answering the question: Liu-shidi and I are heading on a mission soon-
Luo Binghe: this master shall join you.
Shen Yuan: uh… it's a very simple request, two disciples are more than en-
Luo Binghe: this. Master. Shall. Join. You.
Liu Qingge: ???? What the hell is his problem
Shen Yuan: Okay… this disciple is grateful for shizun’s assistance…?
Their flight to the village is dead quiet.
The townspeople sigh theyre so glad they’re here, some demonic creature has been destroying their wildlife! This area makes most of their money with lumber exports, so if the creature continues to destroy their trees, it’ll result in huge losses.
When they find the demon, Shen Yuan starts yapping non stop. It’s like he’s suddenly transformed into a textbook, explaining that this little beaver-esque demon needs to chew up trees for its survival. Luo Binghe is bored out of his mind and pulls out his sword.
Shen Yuan gaps and picks up the small creature, holding it protectively against his chest. “This species isn’t even violent! We can’t kill it!”
Luo Binghe crosses his arms and says they have to complete this commission somehow. Shen Yuan argues they can simply relocate the demon somewhere else! Luo Binghe expects Liu Qingge to complain or brutishly try to kill it, but he shrugs and says he’ll follow Shen Yuan. Apparently this happens regularly…
By the time they rehome the creature somewhere it won’t be a bother, it’s too late to fly back to the sect.
The only close by inn apologizes and says they only have two rooms left, and each one is a single bed. They can have a mat sent up, but…
Binghe says he should room with Shen Yuan because they’re both from Qing Jing, and (he glares at Liu Qingge as he says this) Liu Qingge is an outsider. Liu Qingge narrows his eyes and says it would be inappropriate for a peak lord to share a room with a lowly disciple, so he should room with Shen Yuan.
Shen Yuan cheerfully chimes in that he and Liu-shidi sleep together all the time! “Whenever shidi and I camp outdoors, he says he prefers sleeping on the ground. He’ll be happy to take the mat.”
Luo Binghe's smile becomes a little forced, but shen Yuan doesn't even notice the murderous intent rolling off his shizun, aimed at his friend from Bai Zhan.
In the end, Shen Yuan gets one room, and Liu Qingge gets the other. Luo Binghe insists his cultivation is high enough he doesn’t need to sleep, and had no intention to sleep tonight anyway.
This is a perfect time to go and find a brothel or a hookup. He realizes this is the longest he’s gone without sex in a long time, all because he’s been obsessed with Shen Yuan so much lately. But he’s got too much on his mind to do that tonight… He’s still thinking of the loving way Shen Yuan protected that small helpless demon, going as far as defying a peak lord for its sake.
Shen Yuan is… someone with shockingly good character. Despite being surrounded by cultivators, meeting people who are good is surprisingly rare. He doesn’t want his sweet disciple to have that lovely sense of justice stolen away from him by… gross perverts like Liu Qingge lusting after him!
(He’s not projecting!)
He’s already neglected Shen Yuan as a shizun for so many years. Now he has to step and make up for all that time! He’s decided what he has to do.
First thing in the morning, he knocks on Shen Yuan’s door. He hears a sweet ‘Come in!’ from inside and for some reason he feels… really nervous. Inside, Shen Yuan is sitting on his bed, brushing his hair, and he smiles when he looks up and sees Luo Binghe. “Good morning, shizun.”
Good morning??? How can he say something so casually, without a hint of shame, looking like that?? He’s wearing nothing but one layer that’s not even thick enough to hide his body! He can see Shen Yuan’s milky thighs and small chest!!!! What the fuck!?
(Is this how he walks around the shared dorms on Qing Jing? Do all the other disciples see the outline of his body through his thin layer every morning?? The longer he stares, the more he tells himself he’s making the right decision by doing this.)
He cuts right to the chase. “Once we return, Shen Yuan shall move his belongings into the bamboo house. This lord will teach him all there is to know about being Qing Jing’s head disciple.” He makes it clear that this is a statement, not a request – he’s not giving Shen Yuan a choice.
Shen Yuan gawks at him, and Luo Binghe says they’ll discuss things more in detail once they return to Qing Jing, but from this moment on, he represents himself as Luo Binghe’s head disciple. It takes Shen Yuan a few minutes to really comprehend what’s going on, but eventually he bows in thanks and throws on another, thicker layer. Shen Yuan moves for the door and says, “I better tell Liu-shidi-”
Luo Binghe’s hand moves before he can stop himself, and they’re both surprised by the deathly tight grip he has on Shen Yuan’s wrist.
Luo Binghe clears his throat and lets go. “You should let him be. Sometimes if you spend too much time with a person, it can become off-putting.” There, surely that will keep Shen Yuan away from that brute, right?
Shen Yuan says, “Ohhh,” and then smiles. “Don't worry shizun,” he says gently, “This disciple understands what you're saying. Once I move into the bamboo house, I'll make sure to give shizun his space.”
Then Shen Yuan walks away and closes the door behind him. Luo Binghe can hear Shen Yuan telling Liu Qingge the good news, “I don’t know if shizun is joking or not, but wouldn’t it be nice for us to do our head disciple work together?”
Luo Binghe realizes that Shen Yuan is going to RUIN him, and he’ll do it without even realizing.

So one thing i absolutely love about Gangle's episode, is how deep a look it gives into our lovable comic artists heart and soul, for good and ill.
Gangle manages to get the job of being in charge for an adventure, to shape it as she sees fit.
And she gets a mask that lets her act exactly how she wants to, with NO filter at all for the occassion.
And rather than actually taking advantage of this and having a nice, peacefull day with the crew as they work at a burger King, she instead goes right back to acting like she did at her old job as a mcdonalds manager, only exagerated, and BOY does it paint a picture.
Tumblr media
She makes an interactive video where she blatantly tells the employees to give up on all hopes and dreams, and resign themselves to working the fast food joint forever.
And while it's clear projecting on her part, it's not hard to imagine her acting the exact same with people under her employee back on earth. Resign yourself to this life, like i did... Except resign yourself to being at the bottom, under me.
Gangle had her hopes and dreams of being a professional comic artist crushed, and gave up... And rather than try to balance doing a webcomic and being a manager, she basically just compensated by throwing herself into being a boss, because it was the only part of her life she felt she had control over.
Tumblr media
When Pomni points out that it is all just a game, she really begins to crack, because it would mean that there really wasn't any meaning to it, or her job. It really was just a routine for a paycheck, one Gangle was never able to balance with anything else.
Tumblr media
This entire section where Pomni was flirting with Gummigoo, could have been a fun time, one Gangle could have encouraged as the point of these adventures is to have fun with the scenarios, but instead she went right back to being a manager, to wanting to be the one in control.
Tumblr media
She was miserable, and she wanted, subconciously or not, that everyone else working there had to feel just miserable as well.
Because if she was the only one who felt that way, then it was all "pointless".
She could not just see her role here as "just a job". It HAD to be something else, because she never had the maturity or life experience to balance and separate her "Job" and her "actual life" and so when her dream crashed and burned, the job was all she had left in her eyes.
She could not separate herself from her job "Mask".
Tumblr media
And we also see that Gangle understood, and was fully willing to use her power to get what she wanted.
Jax being uppety? Use Caine, aka her superior to get the power to bring the hammer down on him, which she does with glee.
Tumblr media
And of course there is the whole Ragatha in the fry hell thing, where Gangle(Who has very mixed feelings on Ragatha) leaves her in the frying misery to instead focus on stomping down on Jax, rather than helping someone who needed it.
Because rather than wanting to help someone, she wants to be in charge, to be powerfull. Because it hives her job meaning. It makes her feel big.
Tumblr media
Except as she slowly begins to realize, it doesnt.
Gangle starts to crack over the course of the episode, as she slowly starts to realize that not only was she miserable at her old job(Which she already knew), but there wasn't any meaning to it anyway.
It was just a paycheck, but rather than acting like it was just a job she did to earn money, she used her power to take out her feelings of misery on other people, to try to force it to mean anything. She deliberately hurt other people to make herself feel like she wasn't a failure.
Rather than being a responsible and fair boss, she was the leader everyone hated because she was an absolute bitch.
Tumblr media
Only at the end, after Pomni showed her kindness despite her awfullness, did she finally manage to discard the mask for good and all, and accept herself, flaws and all, and finally manage to feel free and alive again, and become ready to move on with her life.
Tumblr media
After the truck crash, and the high wearing off though, reality comes crashing down, and Gangle suddenly realises that one, brilliant moment of selfawareness and growth does not make up for everything.
She treated everyone like garbage, and showed her absolute worst traits for all to see.
And so she thinks everyone hates her now, just like she thinks(Probably more accurately) that every single person under her at her old job hated her... And yet she accepts that's her own fault. Her responsibility.

OK im a speak my thoughts on the movie, I'm a try to cover everything i remember
Obviously don't take what I say too seriously it's just my opinion
Spoilers obviously
OK LET ME JUST SAY
I LOVVVVVVEEEEEEDDDD THE MOVIE IT WAS FREAKING AWESOME ME AND MY FRIEND KEPT FAN GIRLING AT RANDOM SCENES AND REFERENCES
Which btw LOVE ALL THE REFERENCES I know i probably missed a bunch but a fun one someone pointed out to me was when sonic say a back to the future quote I didn't even notice 😅
Also Knuckles being afraid of ghost makes sense i keep forgetting i played Adv2 and friend reminded me that oh yeah he dose fear ghost even Casper
"There are no friendly ghost" 🤣
Anyways now MARIA GHAAAAAAAA I LOVED HER SHE SO SWEET AND CUTE AND IT IS NICE TO SEE HER JUST BE A NORMAL KID WHO JUST HAPPEND TO LIVE WITH HER GRANDFATHER and also the fact she roller skates, plays music and dose arts which IM SO GLAD ABOUT HEHEH and was just being a kid was just so sweet
The way she finds a way to get shadow out of the lab and it's by using a teddy bear my HEART and maria being reckless and a bit of trouble maker is SO HER
And and she used shadow as a way to get around faster hit me at my childhood I was shadow as a kid my lil cuz would tie a rope to my bike and I would just bike around as they did nothing. 🤣
BUT LOOK
Idk i feel like the movie needed more time to get more things fleshed out it dosent fully feel like they got everything there
Seeing the film now i understand why Amy or anyone else couldn't be in it their just wasn't enough time
though I already knew this i just felt like complaining about it bc I was grieving the fact they took Amy's scene but since in the movie shadow doesnt lose his memories so Amy wouldn't be able to do much and helping him remember if their nothing to remember it wouldn't be impactful, i do hope they interactat some point they are a cute duo
I think more time was needed too because of Director rockwell, you saw the way she started taking charge and looking like she was gonna take over Commander Walter's place and be new leader it felt like there was gonna be more with her like a betrayal and turn over power to her making herself the leader and those could explain why commander Walter just give the key to sonic bc idk why trust him so easly WITH THE KEY TO DESTROYING THE FUCKING PLANET???
Also the fact the Donut Lord was able to just easly fool her didn't feel satisfying she gave up way to fast for someone who looked like her roles were gonna lead to something even if it was just plane hate for sonic and his friends.
Also I can see why shadow may not like tails Bro literally almost drowned him and stone and interrupted his Novela and didnt even let him eat his "Revenge Guacamole"
(The fact shadow named it that was so CUTE bc ahhh sweet boy my heart!)
Also i do like how shadow remained loyal to Gerald throughout the whole thing really shows how much he cares about the family he as left and how he was fine with dieing if it ment avenging Maria
But I find it interesting that he questions his action a bit late like dude you just now thought about that? I think it would have been better if he questions his action from the beginning but kept using the excuse that this is what Maria wanted or something like that it would given maybe a bit more build up to what Gerald says to him to make him stop questions it
Obviously their no way Maria wanted to destroy the earth even Gerald knew that yet never says it out loud just says "remember what they took from us" and that was enough for shadow to stop thinking about it
Also THE FUCKING FACT SHADOW JUST BEEN LIVING THE SAME NIGHTMARE FOR 50 YEARS HURTS ME POOR GUY
And the fact he says that the sadness was kinda what he got use to and ever knew
(I kin i just dont have nightmares my brain just like to remind me of stuff)
Also did the government just keep him alive bc he was some alien from another planet?
Also he didn't seem to be too young when. He arrived to earth so dose he have amnesia from wherever he was from what was his childhood before maria did he even have one? U would think they would have diesected him and study him while be was put to sleep/frozen for so long
He's been reliving the same events for so long but one day it was enough to wake him up thx to Gerald
Also DOES GEROLD GO TO Comicons?!?! bc ahhh he was saveing that giant arm for it XD
Also speaking on Maria again I'm a bit disappointed by the fact they decide to not cover the fact that Maria was sick or that shadow was supposed to be a cure for her as well as a weapon
I need more scene of the both of them and their lives back in the research facility
I don't think the cover much on him even being the ultimate life form at all or the other experiment or the FACT THEY ARE NOT IN SPACE
I FUCKING KNEW IT I FUCKING KNEW THEY WEREN'T IN SPACE THE SCENES WE GOT WERE ENOUGH PROOF TO SHOW IT HEHHEEHEHEHEH
Its a bit disappointing It doesnt feel as impactful when shadow dose get to step outside for the first time
ALSO I ALREADY WISH WE GOT THE SCENE OF MARIA SAYING SAYONARA AND SHADOW BEING DEPRESSED IN THE TUBE AS HE LANDS TO EARTH
The closest thing to it was when he was captured and tased to enter the tube again and the look of betrayal and sadness and later anger in his face AHHH
His back story in this one is giving Venom vibes with the space rock and him being inside it like its a fucking egg, HE IS LITERALLY JUST AN ALIEN he's NOT SOME SCIENCE EXPERIMENT LIKE WHAT?!?!
Where was he from is he still from the same planet as sonic?
I AM curious on what this will lead to and if we learn more I HOPE WE DO bc that movie did NOT COVER ENOUGH ON THAT SHIT
ALSO THE FACT SHADOW REACTS THE WAY HE DOES WHEN HE SEES SONIC SPECIFICALLY MAKES TOTAL SENSE
HE has never seen another hedgehog
HECK IM WILLING TO BET HE DIDNT EVEN KNOW HE WAS POSSIBLY ONE UNTILL THEN
HE literally would ask Maria if she's scared of him bc he knows everyone else is afraid of him and was worried Maria may be afraid too AHH POOR BABY (no more monster movies for him)
But yeah a bit disappointed I KNOW THEY AINT GONNA DO EVERYTHING THE SAME IM NOT THAT STUPID BUT IDK I JUST FEEL like they only cut that shit out bc they didn't have time which if that's the case it might as well been a two parter film it would give more time to flesh out the characters and give more impact to emotional scenes
(Who knows if they make TV show it would help cover some backstory on him)
Bc that scene with the commander didn't hit i didn't feel too much sympathy and I know i should but the scene wasn't giveing it for me
NOW A SCENE THAT WAS IMPACTFUL
Was when Gerald said to Egg man "your no Maria" I FELT SO BAD FOR EGG MAN
UGH MY POOR DUDE
No but Literally he was in a orphanage his whole life and he ever bothered to get him
Im guessing egg man was born while Gerald may have been in jail or he just didn't care enough.
He either never knew about him or didn't care bc i know he was in jail but egg man is probably a similar age Maria was back then so him never bothering to get him just means he only cared for Maria and kinda shadow he did say KIDS and instead of Just referring to Maria so I think he still got crazy at some point while in jail.
But I wonder why they Commander lied
Yes their was an accident that could have been avoided but it wasn't because of shadow it was bc some dumb ass who decided to shot at some kids and an old man they missed but it cost Maria her life
also why the hell is shadow not reacting more strongly to Maria's death that was his fucking sister
I DONT THINK I SAW A SINGLE TEAR FROM HIM AND THAT DOESNT MAKE SENSE HE IS KNOWN TO CRY AT LEAST A BIT FOR LOSING MARIA BRO SHOULD HAVE BEEN SCREAMING IN PAIN BUT NOPE SILANCE AND ANGER UGHH WHY CANT CHARACTERS CRY ANYMORE not even the memory of it made him cry
Also HOW AND THE HELL IS IT that shadow was just being studied so lightly if he really is and full on Alien bro would have been diesected by now or at least have scars or memory's of it but nope nothing
(YES I KNOW ITS A FUCKING KIDS FILM IM JUST SAYING SHIT would make WAY MORE SENSE IF THEY AT LEAST MENTION IT if they didnt want to show it)
Also i was expecting him to be a bit more edgey i dont mind that he isn't but idk he just seemed depressed the enter movie poor guy needs therapy
I found if sweet that egg man got to expramce everything he missed out of In the film (probably what shadow wanted for him and maria)
Its interesting how shadow and Maria don't have to many lines together it feels like she only talked 1 or twice and that's it i wish their was MORE OF THEM
Also i found it interesting how shadow kept mentioning during their fight that sonic became just like him when it came to revenge and how he kept mentioning that sonic left to fight him against his friends wishes it feels like he saying he shouldn't have made the choice he did kinda like saying he would have done better if he was in his position or like he should be grateful (idk that's just my view on that scene i liked it)
Also the way sonic tells shadow that the pain doesn't go away but he can change the way he views that pain and how he can remember that the love he had for her will always stay
Its sweet but didn't feel that impactful as I thought it would be the word were but idk i think they should have lingered a bit more on the scene or something it feels a bit fast paste at time.
ALSO HAS ANYONE SEEN SHADOWS EYES ARE PINK WHEN HE GOES SUPER?!?!?!?! YESSSSSSSSZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAHHHHHH
Also LOVE HOW SHADOW AND SONIC BATTLE TOGETHER IN THE END THEY WERE AWESOME
But then in the final part when trying to stop the laser from killing the earth later separate them with sonic kinda takeing the place of shadow falling scene and shadow just goes poof for a bit
bro literally just cares to get a task done and not save anyone he doesnt save stone when their place was flooded and now sonic
Also glad eggman still kinda pissed on the moon
BRO HAD ME WORRIED FOR A MOMENT THAT HE MAY BE DEAD BUT NOPE HE GOOD AHHHHHHHHHHHH AND THE WAY HIM AND EGG MAN DID SACRIFICE THEMSELVES TOO?!?! UGH THE BLISS SHADOW MUST HAVE FELT TO MAYBE REST IN PEACE AND EGG MAN REDMETION ARC WITH STONE WHILE IN AN ARK AHHHHHH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH HE CARES AHH
But I was SO SCARED THAT SHADOW REALLY DEAD IN THAT ONE my friend had to keep reassuring me that he's not dead they wouldn't let him die but i was like BUT THEY COULD?!?!
But nope they were right he alright 👍🏼
OK MY BIGGEST JOY WAS SEEING AMY
FUCKING YESSSSSSSSSSS I FUCKING HAD A FEELING IT WAS GONNA BE HER IT HAD TO BE IF THEY DECIDED TO CUT HER FROM THAT FUCKING FILM AND NOT JUST HER BUT METAL SONIC TOO??? BUT NOW WHO MADE METAL???
I have so many questions not enough answers anyways fuck you I think Amy is important and im so FUCKING GLAD SHE FINALLY SHOWS UP AHH GIRLY IS IMPORTANT and she gonna be a battle machine AHHH
Can't wait to see her reason from fighting all those robots who are METAL!!!

I really wish we got to see Toshiro use his ninjutsu skills, it feels like such a missed opportunity. Plus this heavily implies that Toshiro is a magic user in the same way Maizuru is. (With the paper based magic and painting-like appearance)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since Toshiro wanted to "test his skills" it would be interesting if he got into the samurai role bc he is less confident in it than using ninjutsu. Toshiro literally weighing himself down with heavy armor and a weapon he doesnt use just to prove that he can.
Rambling on about what it would be like if he primarily used ninja arts:
If Toshiro did have a preferred weapon when it came to ninja arts I think it would be the japanese war fan/the tessen. (It can be either a metal fan or a wooden fan covered in metal) It is a great flexible and hard hitting weapon for a uptight guy like him.
Tumblr media
It was mainly used for covert jobs so that real samurai could take a weapon w/o people noticing. Also it was very versatile, being able to parry projectiles and bigger weapons, or act as a projectile. It has a great and confident dramatic flair to it that Toshiro needs. Plus real samurai would use the snap of the tessen as a signal to their troops. Toshiro using it to snap people's attention to him would help show off his role as a leader. On top of all this, Toshiro would have the perfect cover for summoning illusions, being able to whip up an illusion with a quick swing of his tessen. Maybe to make his illusions more realistic he can manipulate people's senses (similar to Falin numbing pain) to make people hear things that arent there, for example making people hear crackling along with a fire illusion.
With how traditional japanese fans have butterfly designs it would be fun to give Toshiro a moth motif on his tessens (it's cooler to dual-wield) to subvert that. Mainly inspired by this neat post

so, doing this as an extra post bc i dont want to spam op nor invite more disaster into their post (sorry)
(i get annoyed, i get frustrated, but i rarely get pissed off, so if this sounds aggressive to you, it is; i have had enough of arguing with people -even if most of that arguing has happened on twitter-)
someone had replied (and later apparently deleted) something along the lines of "well zelda wanted to restore hyrule at the end of botw and what is so bad about ganondorf always being the bad guy in the way that he is?"
so first off, while i know hyrule and KINGDOM of hyrule is often used as an equally interchangeable word to refer to the world there, i dont think she meant the kingdom or its or its monarchy when she said that (does she? i dont have the end in my head rn and pretty sure its a lil different than english anyway) and much more the LAND of hyrule, its still in shambles even if people have found ways to live with it- that is an interpretation of me mostly, you can think what you want in that regard idc
secondly .... im not gonna get into that rant bc you cannot be seriosuly asking what is bad about how ganondorf is presented, treated in the games (espeically in totk) and his role and "writing" (oh geez i dont know maybe all the racism and stereotypes?? also, frankly boring ass writing, if your villain can be replaced by a cloud of toxic goo incapable of speech and nothing would change except saving money for voice actors that dont fit the role that is not a great look- hes never gotten much but totk is a new low)
then theres this reply
astro-shark3113 replied: "You're kidding right? If she cared about reinstating the monarchy then why is the castle still in disrepair after five years? Why does she become a teacher and live in a cottage with her boyfriend instead of taking on duties as princess? She clearly wants to help people and be a leader but she can do that without wanting to be a Queen. Please be real"
i am not kidding and i AM being real, i think you need to look at the game without your rose tinted glasses for a second; the castle is still in ruin? what the hell do you expect, theres no soldiers and very few servants left, repairing anything is quite impossible in that time and frankly not a priority (not proof of her not caring lol) also there is a plan for it at the very least given the camps with the hyrule crest all over it in the ruins of castle town- we dont SEE her as a teacher, or living a "normal" life, that happens in between the game, its flavor text, what HAPPENS in the game is her being taught a lessson on who she needs to be and what hyrule needs to be (pretty in your face too, she gets sent to paradise past of the "first" king that is some supposedly godly thing from the HEAVENS and watches him and his queen die at the hands of the eviiil guy, the last scene in the game mimics perfectly the scene where everyone that god king got under his rule swears undying loyalty to her ffs); she does live in that house, but what other option is there, set up camp in the collapsing throne room all alone?? nigh everyone from that time is long dead and the only one she actually knows is link who happens to have a house (bc impa doesnt care i guess idk), with her ""boyfriend"" is also interesting, a "boyfriend" that apparently is locked in the basement, lives in the woods or straight up dematerlializes when theres no big bad in need of stabbing bc why the hell does no one fucking know him in hateno??? not even the kids that come to the house EVERY SINGLE DAY?? and taking on duties as a princess, she very much does? just bc she doesnt get physically carried around in a castle doesnt mean she isnt doing royal stuff (also, again, that happens BETWEEN the games, not actually in totk), she still sees herself as the princess, everyone calls her that, she herself calls herself that (if the memorial stones are anything to go by) and everyone listens to the most overtly stupid and nonsensical stuff that zelda puppet says (even her friends follow that order without even asking back???) after over 100 years of there not being a kingdom as such its pretty weird how everyone immediately, even the ones not alive for the calamity event, snaps into blindly following her orders
"she can still lead without being a queen", did we play the same game?? totk? TEARS of the KINGDOM?? (its zeldas tears, she IS the kingdom) that game?? the game couldnt be more directly telling you that its whole point is that royal family holy and good and how much everyone has to sacrifice to uphold the holy kingdom bc its the only thing that keeps evil man from overtaking it!! including turnign herself into a farmable, glorified stone pedestal for the entirety of the actual game and then that sacrifice not meanign shit bc she just gets deus ex machina'd back (i didnt need her to stay a dragon, though it would have been the better choice if she still didnt get an active part in the game i would kill for her to have been a capable companion instead of the stupid ghost sages, and you dont even get to actually do anything for it, it just happens), not even the nuclear pebble is lost, how great! she and everyone else that is a leader of their people has a nuclear pebble now!! they will not let a bad evil man be a threat ever again!! like the point to bring her back in that utterly unsatisfying way is that otherwise the royal line wouldnt exist anymore, its a blessing of her ancient ancestors!! woohooo!!
and the thing is, i LIKE botw zelda, i liked her character, that she wasnt the typically maiden princessy type, her struggle (even if i find the way she unlocked her powers lame), i do NOT like totk zelda, after the intro of the game she is a princessy maiden standing prettily at the side of the god king that rules the only thing keeping evil at bay, the level of how much totk disrespects her makes me mad on her behalf but i have ranted about that alone enough as well
and with this i am DONE talking about this game, i have ranted so much about it, made my points carefully clear over and over, said that i dont have the nerves left to be nice anymore about it given how much shit alone on twitter i had to live through just bc i dared mildly critisizing the damn game, if you comment some snarky "be real" thing again im just gonna go straight to blockign people bc i am done with this

i know i keep ranting about fusionfall but DUDE ITS SUCH A COOL CONCEPT AND WHY THE FUCK WAS THE GAME CANCELLED I STILL WANNA PLAY IT😭😭😭
but if u didnt know, fusionfall is a game based around an alien invasion involving cartoon network characters of the 2000s or somewhere around that time frame (if i am correct tho, the academy storyline has characters from some 2010s shows?)
by the way, major spoilers for the game ahead
but what is interesting about that is the fact on who is participating in the game. because fusionfall is a story based around the concept of an alien planet invading earth, it causes a life threatening situation for the characters we are introduced to and basically placing them into a war
AND DO YOU KNOW WHO IS IN THAT WAR??? LITERAL CHILDREN. mostly. what i want to mean by that is when you play the game or at least watch playthroughs of it, there are not adults that you meet at first, the only few adults i can count is Prof. Utonium and Father but there's probably more. Instead when you first join, youre met with younger people (depending on whether youre playing on the future or academy version, it really doesnt matter because either way youre meeting someone younger than the age of 20 when you first boot up the game)
this is interesting to me because, once again, think about who's participating in the war against Fusion. its actual kids, like the KND is actually the main supplier or weapons and transport throughout the entire game, and there are literally so many more examples i could give but i wont
but thinking about it from their persepctive, its fucking terrifying. its a literal war theyre in right now, and half of the population of Townsville (or wherever the game takes place) is either dead or somewhere else because nobody is there but them. for all they know, kids could be thinking that their parents or friends died in the invasion, or vice versa.
also, these characters had to take on a huge role at such a younge age. another example, but in the game (for the future version) once you complete the first quarter of the game and are sent back to the past you have to choose a guide to help you advance in your story. for those who dont know, guides are characters that lead four different story lines rhat can be a potential way to help you defeat Fuse at rhe end. The four guides consist of Dexter, Ben 10, Mojo Jojo and Double D.
Out of the four, double d stands out the most since for one, ben 10 and mojo jojo are like superpowered or something cause they feel actually qualified to be leaders in a war. Dexter is like the main reason that FusionFall takes place so he also makes sense to be a guide. Double D however is most likely still 12 years old (or older), still a genius n inventor, but he's just a normal kid here. you could argue that Dexter is just a kid as well, but he has such advanced technology that basically cancels that out.
what im trying to get at here, double d is literally just an average child with nothing but extra braincells he stole from his friends and more resources than usual that made him a guide. at 12. and is participating in a war. just. idk its probably that its horrifying to be a war general at such a young age??
OH AND I DIDNT EVEN BRING THIS UP YET BUT FUSIONFALL SURE AS HELL AINT AFRAID TO LET CHARACTERS DIE
in one of the versions of fusionfall, maybe the academy version?? Buttercup is presumed dead after one of the ppg fights against mojo jojo and she is shot into the sea and disappeared for like a bunch of years. Blossom and bubbles obviously had no idea shes still alive, and spent almost everyday trying to search for her until they had to give up and accept her sisters presumed death and THEN get burdened with an alien invasion (buttercup does come back tho, sorry for spoilers)
and in the future version where your character is accidentially sent far into the future where youre able to see the devastating amount of destruction the invasion can bring, you meet a lot less characters than you do when you travel back to the past. the past part of the game probably has at least over 50 characters or less im not sure, but when youre in the future theres at least 10 characters left
now im not totally sure if every character died or not, but considering the change in environment from the future and past, its not that far off from a possibility. though, it could jist be a personal headcanon for me.
but if this were true, then the game just killed off like the majority of their cast, including the main ones like Dexter and left some behind, obviously so you know what to do in the game but like imagine it from one of the characters perspectives??
eduardo is the only imaginary friend we meet in the future, so he's all alone with none of his friends there
eddy's the only kid left from the cul-de-sac like dude what
numbuh 2 and 5 are probably the only KND members we meet
Ben is still there
basically, everyone left had to watch their family and friends die and thats a little idk dark maybe for a cartoon network game?? i mean just a little-
anywho i love fusionfall its a lovely concept and i really want to talk to people about it but NONE OF MY FROENDS KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARTOON NETWORK AND IM GETTING SAD OF TALKING TO MYSLEF
goodbye

So, if Splinter couldn't raise the turtles, Who did?
Idk toooo much about the details yet but donnie was the one who raised himself and his brothers. From the moment they got mutated and went to the sewers for shelter, donnie was the one who took on the role
Then they went up the sewers and met april, and now they live with her in her place. But also not really. Their place is in a bunker under her place
Here's an old comic draft i did just to show them living together lol. Im not completing this cuz the plot doesnt apply to april’s character anymore
Tumblr media
Donnie is still the one raising them and taking care of their needs, but april also helps out this time
In terms of family stuff, donnie's the leader as he's the oldest. In terms of the whole conflict with shredder (and others) leo's the leader
But like, when it comes to the turtles, it's a whole team effort. The friends they make, parental figures, they all play a role in shaping the turtles to who they are

i think its interesting to point out that azula and katara are both people that value and strive for control, however they value different types of control
katara is someone who's been forced to become an adult at a very young age. she was given the responsibilities of a caregiver without the room to be a child. i think she focusses on an orderly, stable emotional/domestic dynamic and laboriously denies her own needs to achieve that. its also the fact she is, no doubt, attempting to emulate her mother in a way that a child cannot really comprehend. there's an expectation afterall for her to fulfil that empty space. so it comes off as controlling, perhaps even emotionally manipulating at times, while she in turn can be stubborn and wild with her own emotions. it's a fascinating dynamic because she constantly needs to be controlling people, not so much their action but their manner, headspace and so on, but also accepts help from others (when shes not being stubborn)! it's not healthy, per say, but she accepts people as people with their own thoughts, feelings and desires, and moves to accommodate that after they push back
azula on the other hand needs to control everything, all aspects, at all times. she too was forced to be an adult as a child, but she also never had a healthy example of an adult to begin with. her caregivers either left her at a key developmental stage or were. ozai. and as a princess, she's been taught to be a certain role with a country wide responsibility as soon as she could talk. alongside her military training, too! (all of this is taught, might i add, by people who are required to maintain a professional distance. even if she's a child, their society requires her emotional isolation) azula values absolute control and order in all aspects of her life, she's never allowed herself room to contemplate what a fufilling emotional dynamic is. she views everything on a wider scale, so much so she's always a politician, military leader and absolute ruler in every aspect. and in turn, everyone else is not allowed to have their own desires in the face of that. azula quite literally cannot approach people on an equal level, her background and her desperate need to control actively dehumanises them. while intellectually, she's a genius with an innate knowledge as to how people tick, they are always below her in class, in skill, and in her eyes, maturity in itself. which is ironic, really, since that very mindset is more childish than anything - viewing people like toys to play with, rather than humans with thoughts and desires outside her own
there's just. no separation for azula between her inner self and outer self need to control - unlike katara. because despite katara's need for control too, she's FAR more conscious of how a relationship should function. she's far more mature, really, than azula ever will be. in fact i'd argue katara being 'immature' is more an indicator of how stable she is than azula's demeanour. she feels her emotions, feels others emotions, and takes them at a human level. azula tantrums when someone doesnt dance to her tune

i loved vriska a whole lot when i first read homestuck, but i can't help just feel tired of seeing her, specially in official content. it seriously feels like she's overstaying her protagonism for several years now even compared to the human characters who are supposed to be the most important. doesnt really help that official vriska has been ooc since forever (tbh who isnt) and even when acknowledging that she did stuff wrong is a whole dance of still trying to make her the hero/victim in the end. i always felt like vriska's journey shouldve been allowing herself to be brought down a peg and let others also take the role of the hero/leader instead of wanting to be in the center of everything, she is great, but others are great too and she often devalues them to put herself on the front which is why she failed at the end, the fact she isn't perfect. i would love to see vriska being vulnerable in the way that she realizes how much harm shes done to others and not just herself, for her to wholeheartedly admit she was wrong and she wants to learn to be a real hero and stop following her previous ideas. but like, we're probably never gonna get that at this point, vriska will never apologize to people like tavros or kanaya, and maybe she will apologize to terezi but it will only be for them to end up in a relationship instead of actually realizing how negative her presence was in her life and that she doesn't even deserve to be back on it, it's all just "feel bad for her already so we can have our redemption pay off".

in reference to the last ask, I really don’t understand anons argument.
how does mirabel choosing to step into a position for herself erase anything that she’s been through? if the argument is trauma well everyone has trauma and they’re working through it together. I also find it weird to imply she would be incompetent due to trauma as we see in the movie her trauma doesnt deter her from accomplishing anything. someone in the tags mentioned all of you as an example for how she wants to contribute and wants to lead. whilst I don’t think many people believe she would want to step into that role instantly it’s likely atleast a decade most likely longer than that when she decides to step up. I find it weird to compare to isabelas arranged marriage which we know she never wanted and the pressures of everyone else. all of you talks about new foundations and being true to yourself. so it’s not the same as how alma would have ran the encanto. it makes perfect sense for the person who literally leads them into that new era to be the one in charge. it’s nothing to do with the magic but the position. mirabel is the only one we see wirh the desire to lead and as tags mentioned her aim to help people and change things isnt going to disappear. I just don’t see how mirabel wanting to lead in the future takes anything away as it’s her own choice.
The biggest problem with Mirabel as leader is the fact that the whole point of Encanto's jorney for Mirabel is to learn that she's not inferior and deserves love and recognition even while being not special. Making her the future "candleholder" (not really ad there's no candle but you got the point) makes her SPECIAL, completely destroying all the character growth. Mirabel learning to accept herself wouldn't matter in the end if she becomes the new leader. (Therefore special) this alone should be the reason it ruins Encanto. The same way Isabela learns she doesn't have to be perfect and Luisa learns it's okay to ask for a break. You won't throw it away and force them back into the box, right? Then why would you throw away the fact that Mirabel is worthy of love while not being special like the rest of her family?
And while trauma doesn't stop Mirabel, we've clearly seen her uncomfortable during Antonio's ceremony, even before she has to walk him to the door, proving that even this situation is enough to cause stress. Yes, she helps him, but she's clearly putting Antonío (and everyone else) about her own well-being. Which is not heathy (I don't say she shouldn't have helped him, but giving her the role of hosting gift ceremonies is 100% will be Mirabel putting others above her own feelings again. And we are trying to avoid it in here.)
In All of you, Mirabel is way more of cheerleader, the same way she was in The family Madrigal. Yes, she gets everyone inside and encourages them. But this was caused by the bigger context she has about the reason behind things being the way they are. As nobody else knows of why they were forced in this perfection, nor the struggles Alma, Luisa and Isabela've been through. This context makes her know that there's no one to blame, they all've been through the different things. You can't tell me anybody else wouldn't be the same if they had context too. And I don't really know what else in All of you can count as Mirabel being the leader.

also (i have many questions) any suki-specific headcanons post-finale? (can be zukki of COURSE) but what cool stuff does she get up to?
So we see that Suki goes to the Fire Nation to help protect Zuko. Cool okay, love that.
We see a lot then that people kind of accept that as her permanent job which DOESNT MAKE SENSE to me because she’s a KYOSHI warrior like she’s def there to help until things die down but that’s not where her duty lies.
Also it kind of takes away Suki’s agency? And gives me the ick. Like here’s this strong capable warrior character but now she’s just Zuko’s bodyguard.
I LIKE Suki in the Fire Nation for the same reason I like Sokka in the Fire Nation. They’re kids who have Seen Too Much and Need A Break.
Now with my Zukki glasses on, this is very convenient to me.
I think she comes to the Fire Nation as a Kyoshi Warrior to protect Zuko, sure, but Sokka’s also there. Then she falls in love with the Fire Nation and its people first, then falls more in love with Sokka next, then starts developing feelings for Zuko.
When it’s time for the Kyoshi Warriors to go home, she faces the hardest choice of her life. With a LOT of guidance and support from Sokka and Zuko she decides to step down as leader of the Kyoshi Warriors.
Shocking, right?
That’s her whole identity.
But it was her only identity. It was who she needed to be during a time of war, a role she filled to protect her people. But the war is over now and she needs to heal, and find her identity outside of that. She will always be a Warrior of Kyoshi, but that’s a chapter in her life she needs to end to move on. And like Sokka, she feels she needs to distance herself from her home to do that.
So she stays at the palace with Zuko and Sokka and kind of drifts for a bit. She helps out with security and training, but finds herself still falling on old ways and habits. Sokka says it’s not healthy, but funnily enough doesn’t listen to Suki when she tells him about the unhealthy things that she does.
But then she slowly falls into her new role in the education ministry, finding that her passion is for helping young girls to get the education they deserve and empowering them to follow their dreams. Soon enough she’s the Education Minister. And very happy and fulfilled. I love that for her.

This is probably super out of nowhere, but for you scosage gargoyle au do you have any rough plot ideas (or at least ideas on who's human and who's gargoyle)?
hi there and dw, im always up to talk about my scosage art or scosage in general😁!
about the gargoyles au im sure i had some ideas back when i first drew that piece a while ago but i never wrote anything down. What little i can remember is that it used the empires cast. Unlike Elisa in the show Scott is not a detective but a journalist and thats how he ends up meeting Sausage after hearing some rumors about a billionaire putting a medieval castle on his skyscrpper and deciding to be nosy about it.
Scott and Sausage start dating way faster than the hell of a slowburn Goliath and Elisa have. Scott just saw this silly hunk of a gargoyle and decided he wanted a piece of that XD, Sausage also didnt have a mate from 1000 years ago nor as much inhibitions about a human/gargoyle relationship as Goliath.
Pearl and fWhip are both gargoyles. fWhip is Sausage's rookery brothers in a similar way to Goliath and Coldstone, while Pearl came from the next hatching. fWhip adapted really well to the modern day, instantly taking an interest in machines and technology, Pearl is just glad there are still baddies for her to punch.
I was really indecisive about Gem tho. I love me the roseblings but gargoyle twins are impossible unless they somehow hatched from the same egg and having them being different ages idk is missing something. So in the end i decided to make Gem an human and be friends with Scott in a similar way to Matt Bluestone with Elisa (tho idk what her profession could be, she could be a co-worker of Scott's or be a detective who helps Scott and the gargoyles), and just know i thought like Matt maybe she is interested in proving something is real but instead of illuminatis she is trying to prove magic is real. Eventually she meets the gargoyles and becomes really close to fWhip in a familial way.
Jimmy is also a human and Scott's ex but they are in good terms. He is part of law enforcement (something something sheriff? XD) and is trying to figure out if the gargoyles are risky or not (not because he wants but because of his job, he's never seen them do anything bad so he doesnt think they are a menace), and Scott has quite some fun leading him to dead ends.
The rest of the empires crew im not so sure about.
Shubble could take a role like Angela, being a younger gargoyle from the Avalon clan, raised there with the other eggs from Sausage, Pearl and fWhip's clan before the massacre and wanting to see the modern world (but not she is not related to Sausage).
Katherine could be a child or even a grandchild of Oberon.
Pix could perhaps be Scott or Jimmy's boss. Or he could be a gargoyle and the leader of Sausage's group.
Lizzie and Joel idk beyond being Jimmy's sister and Jimmy's brother-in-law, so human but thats it.
And Joey im drawing absolute blanks😅. (he could be the billionare in question, lol would be fun if the equivalent of Fox in this au were Xornoth and Scott no likey his brother marrying some rich fuck)
As for the plot i dont have any concrete story beyond the basic plot of Gargoyles but sillier. So Sausage, fWhip and Pearl (and maybe Pix) were gargoyles living in a medieval castle 1000 years ago but they were betrayed and 98% of their clan was massacred and they were put in a stone sleep until their castle was put on a skyscraper by some billionaire and the spell was broken, now they need to learn to navigate this strange new world, making new friends and allies along the way

Talk about mhastuck, I beg of you. 🙏
the god tiers and why i picked em kind of a long post so im putting it under the cut
Deku - Heir of Hope
Heir: Passive manipulation class. One who is changed by their aspect or inspires change in their aspect.
Hope: Control over positive emotions and hope itself. Metaphorically it represents belief.
well its obv. He is the one who inherits hope. He bends it to his will and inspires those around him. hes the leader because of the faith he has and wants to everyone to feel like that too! its not too difficult to find his classpect. In terms of character, i think deku would naturally want to motivate his friends throughout the game and when he eventually goes grimdark, hes just VERY firmly having faith but in a pissed off way. Hes just a good lil guy C:
Bakugou - Prince of Time
Prince: Active destruction class. One who destroys their aspect or one who destroys with their aspect.
Time: Control over time itself and the purity of the timeline. Metaphorically it represents patience.
i think most people jump the gun to give bakugou the aspect of rage but thats not really who he is. Bakugou is not built on hate, hes just grouchy and super impatient. As a Prince of time, he'd be the one who destroys time. to me, itmimics the damage explosions can do but more so in a grander scheme of things. His ability can straight up fucking destroy time as he he'd like but i think as bakugou, he'd know exactly how to use it over time but it'd take learning given his impatience. Princes are also bossy mfs and thats him! Destruction and regret are riddled inside him! he'd be wishing he could go back and leave everyone with doomed timelines until he gets a grip. Bakugou destroying time also just sounds fuckin cool.
Shoto - Knight of Heart
Knight: Active exploitation class. One who makes use of the aspect given to them.
Heart: Control over emotions and the soul itself. Metaphorically it represents one’s inner self
i was told he'd be a better blood player but to me that doesnt make any sense. The whole point of shoto is to break blood bones (as my bestie put so well). His entire character is built on becoming his own person and making his power his own. Hes emotional and wants to understand his inner self. He's empathetic (i.e the "hes just like me" scene) , hes understanding. as a knight of heart, he makes use of that. He would struggle with it as first but overtime become amazing at it. He'd be able to provide stability to his friends emotionally and create bonds with them. His understanding of his friend's emotions would help him know how to get them to act in just the way they'd need to survive.
Ochako - Maid of Space
Maid: Active creation class. One who creates their aspect or one who creates through their aspect.
Space: Control over size, speed, and placement within space. Metaphorically it represents creativity.
From what i know, Maids tends to struggle with their role as a person. I think Ochako would be in the shadow of others until she's able to understand her own worth. she has insecurities will struggle with that until later. And Space because 1. gravity duh. 2. its a creative aspect. Its the inverse of time (BASICALLY i want her to scruff bakugou when hes being an idiot). She'd be tasked with fixing things. She'd had to get bakugou to get a grip, she'd have to be the one who shakes the grimdark out of deku, she'd create paths for them and herself and just go apeshit! I think deku would be the lead of the team, bakugou the strategy, shoto would be support and ochako would be the rock. she'd keeping them all together while also paving her own.
idk the other four yet but also from my understanding, a game cannot be truly successful without a time and space player so two of them had to be it and deku was already hope and i got attached to knight of heart shoto. also sorry if this is DUMB lol i just love writing about godtiers even if im a lil wrong :L

Hi, I have a question for the NoctisBot, if that's okay: He’s always noting “betrayal,” but I never understood what the bot ment. Does he mean Nabooru? To be fair, wasn't he kinda violating his own culture's codes of ethics? Stealing from women & children or something? (Though, I've zero clue why a society of all-women would see stealing from other women as so bad that it's a cultural taboo.) Also, didn't his mom's kinda brainwashed her?
Or does he mean Zaant? If so, could I get the bot's reasoning? Because I don’t recall Zaant betraying him. In fact, I remember Zaant speaking with conviction that so long as his “god” survived, he could be brought back, & then Noctis never doing so. Here's what Zaant said: “As long as my master, Ganon, survives, he will resurrect me without cease!” Then, he exploded, but like… It was oddly balloon-like??
Anyway… I dunno, I guess that it’s just odd for him to keep going on about betrayal when, from my perspective, he’s so big about the concept of revenge.
You have good questions. I would assume that he views anyone who doesnt follow his plans or beliefs to be traitors, like his own people? But I didn't think too heavy into it. Lets see if chat can come up with something better.
************************************************************************
For Noctis, betrayal is a complex web of personal and ideological disappointments, even if they're a bit layered in irony! Here’s a breakdown:
Nabooru’s Actions: Nabooru’s rebellion was deeply felt by Noctis, especially since she defied his rule in her attempt to protect the women and children of the Gerudo. For Noctis, this went beyond mere rebellion—it challenged his legitimacy as a leader and the sense of loyalty he expected. He might feel she betrayed not just him personally but also her people, by taking a stand that undermined the cultural unity he believed he upheld.
Cultural Taboo of Theft: As for the Gerudo's stance on stealing, their principles seem aimed at maintaining harmony within their community, protecting each other even if they had fewer resources than other groups. Noctis’s choices to exploit and take from his people, though, did break these cultural taboos, causing internal dissent, which would’ve intensified his perception of being betrayed by his own people.
Zant's Role: Zant’s conviction to serve him was absolute, but Noctis's sense of betrayal here comes from how Zant handled his power. Instead of using it with the restraint Noctis values, Zant wielded it recklessly, revealing a lack of loyalty to Noctis's vision of leadership and mastery. The feeling of betrayal in this case lies in how Zant’s choices reflect poorly on him and betray Noctis’s own image of power.
In essence, betrayal for Noctis is the failure of others to align with his vision, even if that vision itself is deeply flawed. He’s sensitive to any disloyalty or challenge to his power, and the concept of betrayal becomes an extension of how he frames his reasons for revenge. It’s a perspective that helps him justify his actions, even if it comes across as slightly hypocritical to an outside observer.

At first I was mixed about Lily's return but the more I think about the more it feels right.
Lily is cursed.
She is the woman in the comics that kills Lorie and her baby at the prison before snapping and killing the Governor.
She always follows people that in some twisted way remind her of her dad and in the end helps bring the end of whatever group she is apart of.
The Delta lost so many in Lily's attempt to get the kids all because of one she knew from so long ago. One from the first group she destroyed.
im gonna be honest when i say i ... really never understood all the hang ups people had about lily returning to fill the villain role for s4
like lily returning in s4 makes more sense to me than kenny returning in s2 im gonna be real with you all. lily was at worst left on the side of the road and at best had her own rv at least she wasnt left for dead in a walker infested alleyway. personally i was hoping for a christa return (because i dont want to admit she really died 💀 no body=no death) but lily made enough sense to me and i was excited by her reveal
clem knew lily at the beginning of the outbreak. before 8 years of it turned them into different people. clem isnt the scared little girl she used to be. shes grown up into an extremely capable fighter. and while lily at the beginning of the outbreak seemed like a tired woman trying to keep it together, but also felt the need to take charge and didnt like being questioned (who also cared too much about her awful father but we get more insight into that in s4), by s4 shes lost any shred of kindness she mightve had left. she was military before the outbreak and now given a position of power rules through fear and an iron fist (just like her father). but there are moments between her and clem where we can see just a Glimpse of that old lily ("we were family once..."). but all of that goes away once she realizes that clem is a genuine threat now. and lily recognizes that clem would be a perfect soldier if she can just break her the way she herself was broken so long ago. and if she cant break clem then she'll break aj instead
and then we have the lee element. lily is the Only other person left from that first group at the motel (she did not destroy that group btw ben did like cmon now and ben Keeps destroying it after lily isnt even around anymore). and while shes wrong to say she knew lee better than clem ever did, lee and lily (and kenny) were group leaders together while clem was eating her apple and coloring with chalk. like the adults were speaking. and depending on how you played s1 lee could have a decent relationship with lily. lily being able to sow those seeds of doubt in s4 clems head is just fun mind games
they have History. clem still wears the hair ties lily gave her all the way back in s1. she helped take care of clem for a time. looked out for her. and in a different universe clem Easily couldve ended up standing in minnies shoes instead
also in regards to the delta we Know they dont really want to be kidnapping kids to fight in a war that would probably kill most of them in the first 5 minutes. if they had the adults to be fighting instead they would be. it just shows us how dire the deltas situation really is. they were just expecting to find a bunch of kids for easy picking but clem turned them all into skilled enough fighters to successfully kill a few of them and raid their boat. clem is a big enough win that it doesnt even matter how skilled the rest of the kids are. plus lily was just leading the excursion. we dont know how high up the ladder she really was and how much power she really held. maybe she had something to prove back at the delta (my one real gripe is that we didnt get to actually See the delta. in my perfect world there were 5 episodes and ep 4 was about the delta 😔)
both lily and clem are just trying to save their communities. the difference is lily wants to uphold the status quo of fear and force and war, and clem is trying to build a safe community thats different from the many shes seen. she and the rest of the kids just want to carve out their own little safe haven in this dangerous and unforgiving world. they make a place truly worth fighting for
clem getting some form of closure with lily i feel might get to help her close the book so to speak on her history up until this point. clem has been fighting for so long... but she has a new home now. a new community. she can Chill a little bit. shes gonna grow into such an incredible leader 😭 (not that she isnt already 😭)
