Regicide
(A little bit of inspiration drawn from @sweetest-honeybee s Kingceit doodles)
What do you MEAN you won't?!" Deceit stood cold, frozen, immobile. He seemed to refuse to believe what they had just requested. "You can't just STOP! What about me?! About us?! What about what we had?!"
Roman attempted to avoid eye contact, but found it difficult once Remus had shoved him forward and ducked behind him.
"We just... we've been doing this so long now, and we all know it's not what anyone wants."
"Who knows that?! Who said I know that?! It IS what I want! It's what he wants!" Deceit bared his fangs as he shouted, a hiss from deep within his throat mixing with his words.
"But..." Remus peered over Roman's shoulder. "It's NOT what he want's. It's not because of you, he just doesn't want to BE anymore. He almost isn't him, and it's about to feel like an act to keep going."
"Then let him act!" Deceit gritted his teeth at his own words. They tasted sour in his mouth, but the thought of losing him for good was even worse. "I love him!"
Roman shook his head and reached out for Deceit's arm, but he quickly jerked it away. Roman sighed. "You won't love him. You loved him. But he's not gonna be the same anymore. I know it, Remus knows it, he knows it. And I know you know it. Trust us, it's less painful for everyone this way."
"Nothing could be more painful than this!" Tears sprang to Deceit's eyes. "You're KILLING him! You're MURDERING my King! And you expect me to just accept that?" The anger in his voice quickly drained until nothing was left but grief. "Please... I need him. I'm begging you, you know I don't beg..."
"I am partial to begging..." Remus met Roman's eyes and wiggled his brows.
"Cut it out! Not the time!" Roman sharply shoved his brother. Remus coughed and looked at his feet.
"Yeah sorry I uh... it's how I lighten the mood..." his voice was uncharacteristically soft and apologetic. He looked back up at Deceit. "We do care... but it hurts to be King. Like the bad kind of hurt, painful hurt. It's like trying to hold your head together as it's splitting down the middle." Remus demonstrated, a crack running down his skull and his head falling open to expose red goo and grey matter. Deceit jerked back. "But way less fun."
Roman chimed in: "Every time you see him, he's in pain. He hides it because he loves you but... it's getting unbearable. Remus and I, we're not parts of a whole in the slightest, and King can tell. We used to be the good and the bad, we could click together like puzzle pieces. But we're... rounded. And the pieces don't fit anymore."
Deceit clenched his fists and squeezed his eyes shut. "I... undersss.. ssstand. But.. pleasss..sse... at leassss-ss-st let me ssse-sssee him one lasss-st-st time? To sssay goodbye?" His voice broke. His hiss had worsened in his hysteria, each S a struggle, slowing his sentences to a sluggish pace, but the brothers were patient. It was the absolute least they could do.
"Um..." Roman wrung his hands nervously. "I-uh... we don't... I mean..."
"Of course we will! Ain't that right Lame-miserables?" Remus elbowed Roman sharply in the ribs without breaking eye contact with Deceit. "The least we can do!"
Roman looked up at Remus. He finally noticed something he hadn't before. Unmistakable love. His smile was anxious but soft, his gaze warm and sympathetic. It wasn't quite clear what kind of love it was, but Remus cared immensely, more than Roman had seen him care for anything in a long time. It clearly changed Roman's heart, because before he could stop himself he was agreeing.
"Yeah, of course we will, we want this to be as painless as possible for everyone."
"How long do I have?" Deceit grabbed Roman's shoulders. Roman had never seen him this emotional, without his usual calm collected exterior.
"Um..." Roman looked at Remus, who shrugged. "Ten..." Remus frantically gestured to raise the number. Roman grimaced but complied. "Twenty minutes. Twenty minutes to say what you need to say."
Roman had never known exactly what Deceit and King talked about. All he retained was a feeling, a distinct lack of the fear regarding Deceit that the other lights seemed to have. When Deceit acted tough or collected, Roman couldn't quite take what he was saying at face value, could feel his more personal motivation, the feelings Deceit had about his contributions.
He was overall more quick to open himself to Deceit's side, and from that he'd realized that Deceit must talk often with King about his deeper feelings and ideas. He would only open up like that to someone he felt extremely close to. He was very secretive in general, and the act of revealing even the smallest bit of personal information seemed incredibly intimate to him. Roman wasn't quite sure what Remus experienced from King, but he always assumed it might be similar.
"And then...?" Deceit gripped Roman's sash and twisted it around white knuckles. His eyes were pleading, hopeful.
"And then we're done." Roman gently lowered Deceit's hands. "I'm sorry."
"Monthly! How about monthy?! Every other month? Yearly?" Deceit looked to Remus.
"We... will think about it." Remus's smile was strained. He couldn't operate on the spot, pinned by Deceit's desperate stare. Roman had to be the bad cop, no matter how backwards it seemed.
"NO. We won't think about it. Do you REALLY want a relationship monthly, or every other month, or yearly, where you get twenty minutes with an in pain and slowly fading shell of who you really want to be with? You need to let him go, rip off that bandaid rather than slowly peeling it off over... who knows how long you want to keep this up?"
"But Remus just said-!"
"Remus is an idiot! You're hysterical if you're hung up on what he said!" Roman took Deceit's shoulder. "Look, don't think about this now. Just enjoy your last bit with him."
Deceit slowly loosened his grip and the desperation faded, replaced now by a sort of empty acceptance. "I... okay. Let me sssee him."
Roman nodded and looked to Remus. "Ready?"
Remus fell into Roman without a second thought, eager to give Deceit closure. His tentacles wrapped Roman's waist and shoulders and Roman resisted his instinct to recoil. He leaned in and touched their foreheads together. His brother's breath smelled awful and he could feel himself getting more disgusting by the second. His final thought, before he lost himself, was how relieved he was that would never have to bare a fusion again.
King woke with a splitting headache. He rubbed his temples as he slowly opened his eyes, the light sending more piercing pain through his skull.
"King!" He looked down in time to see Deceit barrel into him with open arms, knocking him to the ground.
"Woah! You're hardly a hugger..." He rubbed Deceit's back.
"I am when you're DYING jackass!"
King winced at the volume. "Aw, cmon, I'm not dying. I'm just... not gonna be around anymore."
"That's no different!"
Deceit pushed his face into King's sash and flicked out his tongue, drawing in his scent while he still could. King was the only one who knew most of Deceit's "embarrassing" habits and reflexes, though he tried to convince Deceit that they were adorable. In turn, Deceit was the only one who knew some of King's secrets, such as;
"I don't know what I'm going to do without you Tiberinus..." Deceit spoke softly and gripped King's sash.
"You're going to be the best goddamn side in the mindscape, you're going to get your points across, you're going to open yourself up, you're going to SMILE and you're going to do anything else you damn well please because you're DECEIT and your your own wonderful amazing sexy person."
Deceit scoffed. "Yeah, I'm sure..."
King stuck him with a stern look. "You're going to SMILE. Because you have the most radiant smile and the sickest fangs i've ever seen, and it's not fair that I'm the only one who gets to see that with any regularity. It's absolutely sinister."
"I'm sinister." Deceit hissed.
"No, honestly right now you seem pretty sniffly and cuddly. And in any case sinister people still gotta smile from time to time. Look at the joker."
"Oh, the joker! What a fun and convincing comparison!" Deceit rolled his eyes.
"You get what I mean though, I don't want to be the only one you can talk to because then you'll stop talking altogether. You have so many amazing things to say, and as much as I love being your outlet, if you keep plugging everything into a single outlet your house is bound to burn down. And if you only trust that one outlet and it burns out, you'll be some idiot sitting in the dark surrounded by perfectly functional outlets upset that you can't read your book. Comprendo? "
Deceit let out a lengthy sigh. "What if my lamp can only reach one outlet?"
"Then you move the lamp. You may get some weird shadows and you might have to sit at the other end of the couch. But you'll still be able to read."
Deceit slapped King's knee in frustration. "See?! You can come up with these perfect metaphors and figure out feelings so easily. I'm not good at that."
"Patton is good at that. And Logan, and sometimes even Roman and Remus. I don't get it from nowhere. You're gonna be okay."
"Who's going to act with me?"
"Roman."
"Who's going to help me when I'm sick?"
"Patton."
"Who's going to make me laugh?"
"Remus, Roman, Logan... they're funny if you ever tried talking to them. You need to think outside your tiny me-centered box. You just have to try a little. Honestly... this might be for the best."
Deceit bolted upright. "How can you say that?! How could this possibly be for the best?! You're DYING!"
"Okay, yknow what? I'm breaking up with you."
Deceit paused. "What?"
"I'm breaking up with you. Looks like you have to move on now. And you're not going to see me anymore. Because we're broken up."
Deceit blinked. "What are you doing?"
"Look, what's harder? Your beloved dying, or never again having to see that awful ex you hate? So I hate you, and we're through."
Deceit stared a moment before breaking into laughter. King relished the last time he'd hear that laugh.
"Fuck you!" Deceit shoved his shoulder.
"That's the spirit! I hate your guts!"
"Go to hell!"
"See you there!"
"I hope I do so I can kill you again!"
"You gotta kill me first you coward!"
Deceit fell into King's arms in fits of laughter.
"God I'm gonna miss you Tiber...I dunno if-"
"Nah. Not allowed. Chin up, Scales. You got this."
King suddenly felt a dampness on his chest. Deceit shook with sobs, gripping King's waist until it was almost painful. He placed a hand on Deceit's trembling back and trailed his fingers down his spine, softly, slowly, as he got it all out.
"Shhh... yeah, I know..." He wiped Deceit's wet cheek with his thumb.
"I don't want you to go... I know you think I can handle it, and I probably can I just... I still don't want you to leave me."
"I'm not going anywhere. I keep saying, it's not like I'm dying. I'll still be with you, and not even in a cheesy spiritual way, all that makes me up is still inside Roman and Remus. I know it doesn't seem like me, and I know it's way different from talking to me, but I'll always be there. I'll know what you're up to and I'll be watching. In the creepiest way possible. So you'd better not mope around once I'm out of here because I see all."
"Comforting..." Though it was sarcastic, King could tell that he'd managed to calm Deceit a good amount. His head ached from being together so long. He looked up at the clock on the wall.
"Twenty minutes. Looks like it's time to- Ow! Shut up! We agreed- You're disgusting!" He gripped his head. Deceit looked up at him anxiously.
"Tiber? What's going on?"
"Ah, just... bickering." King forced a smile. "Twenty minutes is up and they really want to split."
"Oh." Deceit took a deep breath and wiped his eyes. "About that... does it really hurt you? Have you been hurting? And keeping that from me? I would have wanted you to tell me... this might have been less unexpected."
"Oh so you're the only one who gets to keep secrets?" Deceit pulled back at the jab and King felt immediately guilty.
"Sorry, I'm just... headache. I wanted to hold it together. I wasn't planning this, I thought I could handle it. Because I love you, and I didnt want to do this to you. But I finally realized that it would be unfair to both of us if I ended up something that... wasn't me. I know it was selfish...I had some warning, I helped make the choice, so I got a head start on the mourning. But you only get... twenty minutes..." King hissed at the sharp pain in his skull. Deceit studied his face.
"Honestly... truly and honestly... I wouldn't have wanted you to tell me sooner. That would have just prolonged the inevitable. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy what I did have with you without worrying that everything we were dojng would be for the last time. And there's no use being mad anyway, I've lost any time I would have had to teach you any lessons."
"Eh, I don't learn anyways. uGH SHUT UP!" King covered his mouth and squeezed his eyes tightly shut to ward off his headache. "Sorry... I need to go."
"I know." Deceit helped King to his feet and wrapped his arms around his waist. He stared a moment. "Know that every second I spent with you makes up for this moment."
"You sappy snake..." King leaned his forehead against the top of Deceit's head. "One more for the road?"
"Like I'd let you go without it."
King tipped Deceit's chin up with a knuckle. He savored his last look into his lover's eyes, one a radiant yellow and the other a warm honey brown. He tried to burn the image into his mind, wherever it would end up. Only once he was convinced that he had it did he lean down to meet Deceit's lips with his own.
For that moment, he forgot about the pain, and he could ignore the taste of salt on both their lips. It was bliss, the kind he would never have again, the kind that was so perfect that he didn't need to.
He felt his body begin to warm, then a buzzing, a tingling throughout his skin. His headache built to a dull pulse. He pulled Deceit tighter, for what he could tell was his final second.
And then he was gone.
Roman woke with tears on his face and a rapidly beating heart. He looked up, first at Remus, who was no better off then he was, then to Deceit.
He was trembling, fingers poised over his lips as though he were afraid to touch them directly. His eyes were vacant and upturned, as if he hadn't quite noticed that whatever he'd been looking at had since left his line of sight.
Roman debated, for a moment, whether to speak or to leave him to his own thoughts. After weighing his options, he decided on the latter. He looked to Remus, who had already lunged forward to wrap Deceit in a hug, and had been returned with a shaky hand slowly closed onto his back.
Roman gulped and made his way over. He let his knuckles brush Deceit's as a gentle invitation. Deceit quickly accepted, intertwining their fingers and squeezing tightly.
"Can you feel him?" Deceit's voice was nearly inaudible. "Is he there?"
Roman stared at Deceit's soft profile. A warmth grew in his chest, a feeling that could have been his, but not quite. And it was clear.
"Yes. And he loves you a whole lot."
A ghost of a smile pulled at Deceit's lips.
"I know."

Let the Music Play: A Love-Letter to Our Live Venues.
My concert-going career started at a very young age. Barely out of nappies, I went to see the ‘tweenies’ live with my auntie in 2004. The Odyssey Arena, Belfast, now known as the SSE Arena, is Northern Ireland’s biggest indoor arena, and while it is dwarfed by the stadiums and concert venues of the Irish capital and Manchester city, the imposing presence of the arena has captivated me for about as long as I can remember.
The Odyssey complex is as old as I am, its doors opened in the year I was born and so, at the time, everyone was as enthralled with the venue as I was.
The most recent concert I went to at the SSE was twenty-one pilots in March 2019. There is something really endearing about the combined nostalgia of a twenty-one pilots gig itself, and a venue with fifteen years’ worth of live-music memories housed in its elliptical, grey walls.
The SSE arena embodies my generation of Northern Irish kids; we have this big central concert venue, one that our parents could only have dreamed of. Its evolved into a bustling hotspot of tourism, nestled in tidily between the main motorway to East Belfast and the now notorious Titanic Quarter. The word ‘anticipation’ has become almost synonymous with the landscaped gardens, taxi ranks and brightly orange-cladded walls of the arena. From standing in the snow eagerly waiting for a wave from Shakira in December 2009, to queuing in the rain for an allocated seat out of the sheer anticipation of seeing then-heartthrob Matty Healy in January 2019, the artists change, the company changes, but the venues stay static.
Walking into the colossal atrium of the SSE arena, the dopamine rush of the distinctive sound of a ticket scanner, the frustration of the crush on the stairs, or the hilariously slow walker in front of you, the relief and disbelief of being swept away from an old friend by the tsunami of people pouring into the venue, and later washing back out of it. The expected responses to big world events, the additional security of Summer 2017 after the tragic events in Manchester, both outside and inside the same venues.
The feeling of utter tininess when you step through the tunnel into the arena. The power of the crowd, all there for the same reasons, all having a brilliant time. The knowledge that so many of your friends are experiencing the same event you are, that same knowledge, that’s somehow even more captivating in retrospect.
And that is just one venue.
I grew up in a ‘musical household’ and all that really means is that my dad plays the guitar, my mum always has the radio on in the house, and it’s been this way for about as long as I can remember.
Consequently, then, my childhood summers were framed by a local music festival, happens the first week in August in our village. It is, as they say, the craic. It introduced me to gig culture, a culture that has adopted me as I’ve aged. Gigs are like concerts, but smaller. A lot more personable, usually with a lot more bands involved, usually, you won’t know or listen to every band on the set list.
Gigs are in bars, or town halls, or even student union’s – I’m looking at QUB and Glasgow here, LUSU is an office building, though it’d almost certainly be more use as a gig venue. While you find your friends at concerts, you make friends at gigs. You find new music through gigs. Gigs are the control-alt-delete of your social life, especially when you’ve been going to them since you were six.
In reality, I could write whole love letters about every gig in every venue I have ever been to, I haven’t not been to a gig for this long, I think since I turned fifteen.
But none of us have time for that, enjoy these quick-fire feelings about gig venues and gigs from over the years, at home and farther afield.
The Oh Yeah! Centre in Belfast – the gateway to the gig scene. The absolute heroes who were hosting all ages gigs that one time a year every year that you didn’t have to source an ID. Nestled in the Cathedral Quarter, it is a genuinely wholesome, beautiful place to be. From falling in love with a 17 year old Declan McKenna in the front row at 15, to nearly choking when you heard the titular female name of Cherym’s now lead-single live for the first time, it is a very happy place and one that is truly committed to local acts and musical education at its heart.
The Lurig Inn in Cushendall – We all have a bit of love for our local, don’t we? The Lurig was the place to go out when you couldn’t get into, or couldn’t get to, anywhere else. Being 16 in the Glens of Antrim is certainly an experience, and it is characterised by the intergenerational harmony of a night in the Lurig with your wee man off the X-Factor. They have converted their venue into guestrooms, and of course I have feelings about this, but they still have solid acoustic nights from local artists on a regular basis, and I miss coming home to it a lot.
The Stubborn Stag at Kelly’s, Portrush – When you catch yourself driving to a gig in jeans and a t-shirt while you watch your peers in tiny neon skirts getting turned away from the main club, you know you’re doing something right – or maybe very wrong. This is my local for ‘big gigs’ and is a very underrated venue in Portrush. It is a genuinely lovely bar to be in, and attracts names from across the wide and growing North Coast music scene. I’ve even heard its worth using that roundabout in Coleraine for.
Students Unions of the world – This is basically in memorium of the Mandela Hall in Belfast. However, the Manchester Academies and QMU Glasgow need their recognition. These venues are gross, they’re sticky, they’re not even overly cheap on gig nights. But they give you the opportunity to see IDLES, the Academic, Miles Kane (!) and the Front Bottoms up close, even when you’re underage. And for that, we salute them. I do miss being able to see yer man from General Fiasco and his guitar every Sunday at the Speakeasy if I wanted to too (but don’t tell anyone).
The Belfast Empire – I haven’t actually got the words for the love I have for this venue. It is practically perfect in every way. From their regular ‘Gifted’ nights, which platform young talent, to their annual general fiasco gigs, to their high ceilings and stunning acoustics, to the location in the heart of Botanic, the closest street Belfast has to ‘cool.’ While I have never had much love for Belfast city, my heart absolutely bursts for the Empire. I cannot recommend checking them out when they reopen.
My favourite carpark in Belfast is actually also behind the Empire but that’s a story for another day.
The Button Factory, Dublin – This is where I first made eye contact with Eli Hewson, it is a beautiful, very cool venue on the periphery of Dublin’s Temple Bar. Just a stone’s throw from Gay Spar too. What more could you ask for?
Yes! Manchester – This is technically four venues, on Manchester’s Charles St. It is effortlessly groovy, and consistently hosts the best up and coming talent from Manchester, the North West, and farther afield. It is where I first saw Eli Hewson, buzzed on VKs at 2.30pm on a crisp October afternoon. It is also home to ‘the Pink Room’ the most beautiful venue I have ever been in. Imagine being at an Inhaler gig in a Barbie house. Now tell me how I can ever expect to beat that.
Sandino’s Derry – It’s a socialist bar. They have MSF stickers on the walls. It’s the complete antithesis of the Yes Pink Room; but is two stories of positive vibes and freedom. An endearing little venue that occasionally hosts good gigs but will always be there to radicalise you, if only a little bit and to welcome you home.
Some of the most endearing memories of my whole life have been finding friends at concerts, screaming and crying along to concerts, getting lost at concerts, arriving late and leaving early, and getting abandoned. Getting stuck in the mud, quite literally, and stopping at the kebab shop on the way home; and being scared you’re going to be stuck in Preston bus station forever.
Gig-going and concert going have given me anecdotes to last a lifetime, and I am not the only one. Let the music play.
I wasn’t sure where I really was going with this post, I didn’t at all plan it. But I truly hope it has encouraged you to support your local gigs and artists, and especially your local venues.

IT MUST HAVE BEEN FATE (A BEN HARDY STORY)
Summary: A story about how Cora and Ben become intertwined in this thing we call fate.
*I thought I would give this a try. This is also my first fanfic.*
Tumblr media
Chapter 1-The Stars Align
Have you ever had woken up one morning and you just had a strange feeling your life was about to change and you had no idea how or why it will. Then the whole day you just become really anxious. Then when that moment finally happens do you grab it or do you let it fly away? When your life does change after that moment do you ever find yourself at a crossroads wondering if you made the right choice or the wrong one? As Albus Dumbledore once said “Soon we must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy”. Well what if fate intervened then in that moment, what would you do?
It was the day of the Bohemian Rhapsody movie premiere. Cora and her best friend Lily were going to go and try and see all the stars hit the red carpet at the SSE Arena, Wembley in London and maybe if they were really lucky they could see Roger Taylor and Brian May.
“Cora, have you seen my light blue lace dress anywhere?” Lily asked from the other room.
“Yeah, Its hanging up in your closet where you last left it.”
“Thanks I found it!”
“You almost ready to go? We have to leave in 15 minutes if we wanna make it on time! Cora asked
“Let me just put on the finishing touches with my makeup and I’ll be ready.
“Sounds good!”
After finishing getting ready Cora and Lily took a cab from their apartment in South Kensington to SSE Arena. The SSE arena was decorated like you couldn't believe from the start all the way to the entrance. The carpet was purple and along the sides there were walls propped up with the different colors ranging from purple to pink to even gold in glitter with the title of the movie. There were barricades set up for the fans and the press and also the photographers. It wasn't anything Cora had seen before and she was just in awe of the whole thing. Cora and Lily luckily managed to find a spot right in the front of one of the barricades. On both sides Cora and Lily are surrounded by fans. A little farther down to the left would be a row of photographers and members of the press awaiting the arrival of the stars.
Soon some of the stars started hitting the purple carpet. Cora and Lily saw Mike Myers, Tom Hollander, Aiden Gillen and Allen leech, Joe Mazzello, Gwilym Lee. Then a few minutes after Gwilym passed, Cora heard high pitched screaming coming from down at the start of the carpet but Cora couldn't see what all the screaming was about. Then all of a sudden this young man walked in her line of vision and Cora could feel her jaw drop. This young man had short blonde hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing a black suit with a sheer button down shirt under the jacket.
“Who is Mr. Dreamy?” Cora heard Lily ask
“I have no idea.” Cora answered back
“His name is Ben Hardy. He plays Roger Taylor in the film” an older women had said right next to you.
One would say that fate must have intervened because in that moment Ben had stopped and stood in front of a photographer to have a photo taken. Right as the flash went off Ben looked away from the camera and locked eyes right with Cora. It was as if someone froze time and Cora and Ben were in a trance and everyone around them turned invisible. The noise all around them was drowned out and all Cora could hear was the pounding of her heart beating. She could also feel her hands getting clammy. Her face even had a slight blush to it and Cora could tell because of the warmth coming from it. It felt as if she couldn't look away and someone had put her in headlock but she didn't want to leave that headlock feeling. Then the trance was broken all of a sudden as Ben looked away and started heading toward an interviewer. It felt like she could breathe again. Cora let out a little gasp could not believe that a moment like that had happened to her. She has never had any luck when it comes to life. She then thought moments like that don't happen very often and maybe that was a way for life to give her something and then pull it away. It was probably a good thing that he walked over to the interviewer because she doesn't know how she would have reacted if he were to walk right over to her in that moment. Then again she wasn't even sure she would be able to speak to the man. Cora then turned her head to see if Lily had noticed the moment but she was just looking down at her phone most likely answering a text or posting a photo to her Instagram about the premiere and being completely oblivious to everything around her. Cora was thankful that Lily missed that little moment because if she hadn't she would have demanded that Ben walk right over to them and possibly flirted with him. Who is Cora kidding Lily would have flirted the night away with him. She was not one to be shy around men that she had an attraction to. While Lily was more of the extrovert, Cora is more introverted. Lily would be the one to go out and party till morning while Cora loves to read curled up on the sofa.
What Cora did not not notice was right when she turned her head and started talking to Lily was that Ben a couple people down from her while being interviewed had taken a quick second to see if he could spot her. When he did he cracked a small smile.
__________________________________________________
After the premiere Cora and Lily headed back to the apartment to change and just relax after all the excitement.
“Hey you want me to make you some tea?” Cora asked Lily while she was standing the the kitchen.
“Yes please. Thank you!” Lily answered while turning on the television in the living room. She turned on the news and all the news could talk about was the movie premiere.
Later that night while laying in bed Cora couldn't get to sleep because her body was still buzzing from the excitement and also from her special moment with Ben. Her brain kept thinking back to that moment. It was on continuous repeat.  She just couldn't get over the fact that they had both made eye contact and kept it for a couple seconds but in that moment it felt like minutes. Cora deep down a small part of her wanted to believe that maybe he had made eye contact with a person next to her and it just looked like he was looking at her. Now her mind was just going crazy and coming up with excuses. Cora should know because she was letting her insecurities take over big time. Her insecurities have always gotten the better of her and she hates it! Especially during times when her and Lily go out to pubs. She just has that aura that people just want to be around and cling to. Cora sometimes has guys come up to her but in the end they turned out to be losers and just want one thing. She along with the next person enjoy having sex but Cora doesn't want to spend anymore of her life just just finding someone to hookup with. She wants to find someone she could have a conversation with and who would take her out on dates and be proud they are dating a her. She also wants that man to come home after a long day at work and be excited to see her even though they are exhausted. The list could go on and on but was it too much to ask for instead of just being another girl at the pub who falls hook line and sinker to a horrible pickup line. Cora then started to compare herself and Lily. Cora is petite and has short blonde hair and brown eyes. She also wears glasses. Lily on the other hand is a little taller and has that beach blonde hair, her eyes are blue like the ocean and has skin that without even trying get perfect a beautiful tan can get one.
After a while once Cora had enough of her insecurities getting the better of her she came to the conclusion that she was in that moment of time was enough for a man like Ben Hardy to make eye contact with not with her friend Lily but with her. A smile then spread across her face knowing that she finally got that moment that a lot of girls would fall over to have with him. She had that moment and nothing was going to get in the way.
________________________________________________
After the Bohemian Rhapsody movie premiere on Tuesday it was finally Saturday. Cora was glad to finally sleep in after a long week. While she was just being lazy in bed she was suddenly over come with this strange feeling. It started to bug her and she could not figure out why she was feeling this way. After a while she decided to get up and grab a shower because she needed to go out and pick up a few things. Thankfully it was a beautiful day out and one should not waste it. Right as she was about to walk out the door Lily stopped her and asked if she could pick up more tea.
While walking to the store a couple blocks away from the apartment Cora saw a coffee shop had just opened and she thought she might as well give it a try and see if it was worth her wild. Once she stepped into the coffee shop it was like all hands were on deck. The place was packed like she couldn't believe. While waiting in line she heard random conversations that ranged from talking about ones week or about the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. After she ordered her drink and stood to the side to wait for it to be made. A few minutes later she heard her name called to come and get it. Once she stepped to the counter and grabbed it her foot slipped on some spilled coffee from a previous customer. As she was slipping she thought she would have an embarrassing moment but someone had managed to catch her in time.
“I’m glad I caught you or that would have been completely embarrassing wouldn't it but it looks like we meet again.”

Didn’t know that Pintabians were fixed but excited to hear that. Finally do champs again. Anyways. This has been an issue for a while and I think it’s an inherently bad policy SSE seems to have about bugs. They’ve gotten better at it, but it’s been an issue forever.
For context for those who don’t remember this/didn’t play, when the gen 2 American Quarter Horses came out, they were stupidly fast. Like level 1-2 quarters were beating the top times on servers fast. A patch and a high score reset came out pretty quickly after, fortunately, but SSE’s public statement about it was because players were “perceiving them as going fast,” and not that there was hard physical evidence that these horses were fast in the old high scores. And I did send in recorded evidence of this myself and got the same response before the patch. Which is incredibly demeaning to your players who are trying to help make the game fair.
In a more recent example to show it’s still an issue, I found a bug with weekly reset where if you logged on earlier on Sunday than you did on Saturday, your daily quests wouldn’t update and relog wouldn’t fix this, which is an issue for training obviously. It took me three different replies and techs, with like a page long step by step walkthrough with time stamps and the offer to repeat the bug to get an actual response to the issue.
Now, as someone whose partner works in IT, I’m not blaming the techs. I would like to repeat that sending issue reports through their contact info with as many details as possible is the best way to get things fixed, with visuals where you can. However, this becomes a problem when you consider SSO’s main demo and the average ability to communicate what is a bugged feature. And this highlights a number of problems with SSE’s infrastructure.
One, their support line is going to be inundated with bad reports all the time because of the target age group. It’s been in beta for Swedish players for so long but reporting issues, both players and bugs, in game needs to be added and this should be pushed as higher priority. Those log reports can speed along reports with actual data to solve it faster.
Two, SSE needs to openly communicate that their game has bugs and that’s ok. I don’t remember the last time their bug report logs were even updated now but every update should be released with a plain text list of bugs fixed in the patch, not the funky Sims version we used to get in the monthly report logs that are given in bubbly language. Simple explanations of problems and their fixes. Games have bugs. It’s the nature of coding. And communicating that bugs happen, that’s part of dev time, would go a long way for showing all the team is actually doing weekly.
Three, this is my soap box, SSE needs to slow releases to monthly at least. More time between content means more time to bug fix in QA and for tech support to properly sift through reports to get backlogged support. Also the whole weekly release cycle they have is crunch culture slightly repackaged, and it’s probably incredibly damaging for devs to have to see every single week not only their content go live and the anxiety of that, but also a mass of complaints of bugs the devs couldn’t catch or fix in time to push release. MMOs have lots of bugs, that’s in their nature. But it’s also not good for self esteem to be in the criticism spot every week, or worse, to be forced to tune all of it out to maintain that self esteem.
So, yeah. Social media managers have no ability to fix these issues, contact support first before making a hashtag. But SSE also has an ongoing issue about transparency when it comes to plain communication for an audience that doesn’t have the tech literacy to understand what they’re saying or when they’re being misleading. If I had any guess about why it’s getting fixed now, it’s probably because the Pintabians are up on the slate to be removed and once they can’t be bought or “get bug support,” that would effectively kill the competitive scene because no one new could buy that horse after retirement and so it’s become a now issue instead of a later issue.
I'm just confused about why it took SSE so long to fix the Pintabian problem.
Did no one ever explain clearly to them that it was the jump animation causing the issue, not the base speed?
I keep saying that if we want them to listen, the best way is to send suggestions from the website, not to whine at their social media managers, and we need to be detailed and specific.
It's been common knowledge for years that the Pintabian was faster because of its jump animation. It's ridiculous that it took SSE this long to understand that. I really don't know what to think of it or who to blame.

How to Bypass Matlab’s ‘Cripple AMD’ Function, Restore Full Performance to Ryzen, Threadripper CPUs
One of the difficulties of CPU reviews is that they represent the best time to evaluate new features and software — while simultaneously representing the worst possible time to attempt to do a deep dive on any specific piece of software. Sometimes, reviewers adopt tests because a vendor has recommended them, without considering whether the test will perform identically on an Intel versus an AMD system. Sometimes, the vendor fails to disclose that an application is compiled in a manner that will lead to tests running much faster on one platform as opposed to another. This is one of those times.
When I published Matlab data in our Threadripper 3970X / Cascade Lake X joint review, it was because Intel had recommended this test and workload as a showcase for Intel’s HEDT desktop line. I specifically asked for recommendations, hoping that Intel would have some applications in mind that would show relatively light scaling at or above the 18-core mark with AVX-512 integration. Even professional apps don’t scale perfectly forever, and I knew going into this review that there was going to be a performance “island” for Intel to stand on at the intersection of higher clocks and lightly threaded applications. “Lightly,” in this context, should be understood to mean “apps that don’t scale all the way to 64 threads” as opposed to “apps that don’t scale past 4-8 threads,” which is usually what we mean when we call an app lightly threaded. It was obvious that Threadripper 3960X and 3970X were going to beat the 10980XE in every app that could scale to match their thread counts, especially in the 3970X’s case. With that as a given, it was worth exploring the areas that had historically been the strongest for Intel to see how performance would compare.
Intel recommended four workloads for this review: AIXPRT, Adobe Premiere Pro, Matlab, and Sony Catalyst. I wanted to spend more time evaluating AIXPRT before I started running it on systems, which made it less appealing. Adobe now requires that you provide them with a credit card in order to launch a 7-day free trial of their software, so that’s right out. I opted to test Matlab and Sony Catalyst. I was not aware of this investigation and report by redditor Nedflanders1976, made some eight days ago.
He writes:
Matlab runs notoriously slow on AMD CPUs for operations that use the Intel Math Kernel Library (MKL). This is because the Intel MKL uses a discriminative CPU Dispatcher that does not use efficient codepath according to SIMD support by the CPU, but based on the result of a vendor string query. If the CPU is from AMD, the MKL does not use SSE3-SSE4 or AVX1/2 extensions but falls back to SSE1 no matter whether the AMD CPU supports more efficient SIMD extensions like AVX2 or not.
There’s a way to disable this behavior in Matlab. Flanders writes. If you are a Windows user with Matlab installed, create a batch file with the following data:
@echo off set MKL_DEBUG_CPU_TYPE=5 matlab.exe
Start the application using this batch file. You can make this permanent by entering: “MKL_DEBUG_CPU_TYPE=5” into the System Environment Variables. Nedflanders1976 also has details on how to perform this task for Linux. We played around with testing some variant ideas, including setting “MKL_DYNAMIC=FALSE” and “MKL_NUM_THREADS=64” to see if these settings would improve performance. They did not. Best performance was obtained using the settings above.
Updated Matlab Results
I have updated our Matlab results with new data, showing the impact of running the application in this mode. I display the total summary time for the entire workload at the bottom of each set of results. The top results show the performance of our three compared CPUs without any changes, the bottom chart shows the impact with the “set MKL_Debug_CPU_Type=5” flag. This may work for other applications that use the MKL library as well. It should be noted that in many cases, the CPU is only ~53-55 percent loaded during this test — a load level that correlates to 17-18 processor threads. In this case, however, these settings proved faster than forcing the MKL to use a higher number of threads. Telling the machine to use 48 or 64 threads only increased total execution time on the 3970X.
AMD’s performance improves by 1.32x – 1.37x overall. Individual test gains are sometimes much larger. Obviously these results are much worse for Intel, changing what looked like a narrow victory over the 3960X and a good showing against the 3970X into an all-out loss.
When Is It Alright to Test These Sorts of Applications?
I was not aware of Matlab’s behavior when I agreed to benchmark the application for the Threadripper 3960X / 3970X / Cascade Lake launch, but this is an excellent time to discuss the topic. The fact is, Matlab ships in a configuration that is automatically biased against AMD: It refuses to run SIMD code on an AMD CPU, even though the CPU supports the SIMD code in question.
It is not wrong to benchmark a real-world application. The performance of a real-world application you have to use may well be relevant to the hardware choices you make. If your job depends on running workloads in an application that heavily favors Intel microprocessors, you’re likely to buy Intel CPUs, even if you’d prefer to buy chips based on ARM or AMD designs. People deserve to know how the software that they run actually performs on the hardware that they use, and Matlab is a major piece of software used by more than 3 million people. The fact that Matlab favors Intel CPUs doesn’t mean Matlab users don’t deserve to know how the application performs. Of course they do.
But when we pick tests for a review, we’re intrinsically saying that you should pay attention to these specific tests and extrapolate general performance comparisons from there. MathWorks has every right to ship whatever software libraries it chooses. But if Matlab is going to ship using libraries that run SIMD code on Intel CPUs but refuse to run that code on AMD CPUs, we need to know that before we agree to test the application in a review. This is non-negotiable. We use review applications to give people an idea what performance will be like in other apps that serve the same market. Implying that AMD does poorly in Matlab raises the question of whether AMD CPUs
Tumblr media
perform well in applications similar to Matlab. That’s not a fair implication to make unless we simultaneously disclose that Matlab generates code that is intrinsically optimized in ways that tilt the playing field in favor of Intel.
Flanders asks that you contact Matlab to make a feature request if you want a solution to this problem, but you’ll need to be a Matlab subscriber already to submit anything. Regardless of whether the company changes its approach, we feel end-users need to be aware of how to bypass this issue and restore full performance to AMD CPUs.
I might have included the Matlab test even if Intel had disclosed that it would use Intel-specific optimization paths; I was looking for tests that favored Intel to compare against AMD’s much-higher core count. I had no intention of positioning these tests as anything other than what they were — best-case scenarios for Intel, but realistic scenarios nonetheless. I tested y-cruncher 0.78 for this review specifically because it’s an example of an AVX-512 optimized application where that SIMD set gives Intel a significant speed boost. I don’t have a problem with showcasing Intel or AMD CPUs to their best advantage. I just want to know when I’m doing it.
Readers will ask why I haven’t jumped down Intel’s throat based on the historical facts of the “Cripple AMD” compiler issue. Let me reassure you, I’m fully aware of them. The facts of that situation are why Intel should have made certain to be careful of which tests were recommended and what it communicated concerning those tests. But I also don’t have copies of every scrap of Intel guidance on the last few HEDT launch cycles, and can’t say the test was added for this cycle rather than being a program Intel would’ve also recommended in previous cycles as well. Even if Matlab wasn’t mentioned in previous public benchmark guidance for earlier CPUs, I had specifically reached out to Intel to request data on tests that might incorporate capabilities like AVX-512. Intel should have practices in place to make sure reviewers know about pitfalls like this — but I can’t say for certain that this wasn’t a mistake.
With that said:
Readers should be aware that I also scanned Sony Catalyst using the Swallowtail patches capable of removing the “Cripple AMD” function from executables and found no sign of any pro-Intel bias after they had executed; the Threadripper 3970X executed the Sony Catalyst workload in the same period of time after the application had run. At this point, however, the Swallowtail patches are 10 years old. While I’ve confirmed that they work on old software, it’s not clear that they are capable of detecting the methods still being used to prevent code from executing optimally on AMD processors. I am no longer certain if Sony Catalyst Edit represents the kind of lightly-threaded app I was hoping to test for the 10980XE review, or if it uses as-yet undetected preferential code paths to improve performance on Intel CPUs. At the very least, I’m not as certain as I’d like to be.
I will say one more thing on this issue. As far as I’m personally concerned, any piece of software that claims to support AVX, AVX2, SSE, or any other SIMD code should prominently state whether that code executes solely on supported Intel microprocessors. Failing to inform customers that your software won’t execute ideal code on their platform due to hard-coded limits in your application ought to constitute false advertising. AMD advertises its CPUs based on factors like AVX2 support, but software vendors are under no obligation to inform you whether you’ll be able to use features you literally paid for. This should not be the case. Multi-million dollar software developers are capable of performing the due diligence required to be honest about their optimization practices.

AKALI’S FIRST VLIVE
"Yah- I don't know how to work this. Do I wait until the first greeting comes on?"
Akali opened the camera at such an awkward moment, flipping on the filters almost immediately. Her face showed genuine confusion before her nose scrunched slightly, as she shuffled around backstage at some sort of schedule and finding a place to sit. “I look cute with the angel filter. I like this.” Speaking as she brushed her bangs back, she stared at the screen with her lips propped open slightly. “I had my fansite owner post it on the forum, don’t look at me like that. I’m stupid but not that stupid. Fans will come, I’m sure.”
Akali spoke with confidence towards her assistant who just stared at her blankly, before leaving the blonde in peace. “I don’t know if I like my bangs like this. Curled is pretty harsh, my forehead is big.” She spoke, more to herself than anything with a slight American accent as she realized the first of many fans were beginning to float in. “I’ve eaten, I had bbq before this, and Soju but I’m not drunk, promise, it’s too early to be drunk but I have to drink with CEO Kang.”
Akali spoke, a bit too fast as she watched the questions begin to float in. “I’ve not rested well, actually. I’m bad at resting. I’m very bad at resting; after the showcase, I went home and tried to clean my apartment drunkenly.” Long digits played with her hair as she squinted towards the screen before she complained. “Too fast, too fast. My eyes can’t keep up. I wear lens.” Reaching up to bite the tip of her thumb, she picked out the first real question.
“Please ask questions, I will answer all honestly.” Akali waited for a few moments before a question caught her eye. “Oh this one is interesting, what song was your favorite on each album to write and produce? It’s hard because all of them are parts of my pain and past, I write them from experience. On Sovereign, it was Mind Games to write and tailor to Baekhyun’s voice. He fit it very well, and was very easy to work with. Monarch, I can’t pick between Sociopath and Despicable. I think the drop in Despicable though.. very good.” There was a hint of a smile as she spoke. “Fight back on Majesty, because I worked very closely with my brother to finish that song. It was the last song on the album to complete.”
“SSE SSE SSE was the best of QUEEN, considering Reign was working together again for the first time in a long time, but not the last.” The chat began to move at the speed of light once Reign was mentioned, mostly filled with fans freaking out that Reign will work together again and they had not disbanded.
“Do you relax more staying at home or on vacation?” Her tongue ring clicked against her teeth as she thought, with a scrunch of her nose. “I have a studio in my home, so I don’t relax there well. I don’t relax well in general. I’m always trying to work on something, but I do better on vacation. I like traveling, and seeing new places so I tend to distract myself better when I’m on vacation. I’d like to relax at home though if I could learn not to enter my studio while I’m there. Traveling every time I relax is expensive.”
Leaning back on the couch, she brought her legs up to tuck underneath her leaving the phone propped on the table. “Do I listen to other idols? Absolutely, it’s part of my job. I have to know what is popular and what other people are doing so we also don’t do anything too similar. If we are talking about personal favorites, I tend to find myself listening EXO and 24k, I listen more to one song from different groups but those two I like multiple songs from there. Most of my favorite girl groups have disbanded, however. CLC’s Hobgoblin was very good though.” She paused before nodding. “I know many idol dances, I know Growl, Rockin’ by Teen Top, I learned Fire from Jimin, BTS you know what I mean. I learn a lot of them because they are good practice and helps me choreograph for when I need to. I learned Growl many years ago though, don’t laugh. I learn a lot of male dances more than female dances, I like being aggressive so maybe that’s why.”
“Currently I am learning uh- more american dances than korean dances, I’ve been practicing at 1million studio! I go to practice a lot. I don’t want to learn my ability in dance.”
“Will we be seeing you more often in the music scene?” Akali gave the camera an interesting look, one where she knew something that they didn’t. “I promise I will be coming out of my office and my house more soon. I have more planned. Please wait for me.” Again, the fans blew the chat up in excitement, leaving Akali the ability to only laugh as she read the many I love yous, and the showcase was awesome, or how they bought the entire box collection. “I will be getting more stock of the box collection as soon as I can, I did not expect to sell out so soon. I promise.”
“I choose the people I collaborated with because I knew I could work with their talents. I knew I could showcase them well and make something very good with them that was outside of the music they are performing with their groups. Though, some of them were also my friends and labelmates, as well as my brothers. I wanted to showcase everyone well as well as showcase myself well. That was a lot of the same word, but my Korean is so-so, I don’t know what else to use.” Akali laughed at herself, showcasing a little bit of her uncomfortableness in front of people and talking. There was a reason she never was seen in public much, and she certainly didn’t do many variety shows or shows in general.
“I’m horrible at keeping resolutions. I make the resolution every year to stop drinking and have a proper diet, but I do not. I’m sure I’ll make the same resolutions this year, and break them within a few days. Don’t be like me.” Leaning into the camera, she blinked, squinting a little. “No more variety shows, I’m bad at talking, I’m too blunt for them. No no, not a variety god. My Korean is so-so, I don’t always understand, and I like to curse too much.” The fans were telling her that she would be a god at variety before she shook her hands slightly.
“I want to work with many more people, as producer or composer. I have many more pains to write about, it helps me cope. Writing in my therapy.” As she spoke, the chat was beginning to swell with people and worries about Akali’s health. Unnie~ be okay! Do not worries all over the place as she nodded. “I’m okay~ I’m okay~.” She tried to quell the worries of some near hundred thousand people, nowhere near the numbers of say other people but a lot of people tuning in to see what exactly Akali was like off stage after listening to their favorites perform her songs.
“In ten years, I hope to still be doing music. I have 177 credits to my name, all over the world. In America and Japan, as well as Korea. Under both Akali and VINsao, I hope that will expand by many many more. I probably won’t be dancing anymore, my knees probably won’t be able to keep up, but who knows.” She spoke casually with a shrug of her shoulders, before fiddling with her long red sleeves. “Unnie is not in love! I wrote a song about love, it means nothing! Yah- must you guys ask such things.”
The fans brought up a good point, that Akali had once claimed that she would not write about love unless she experienced it. “I’ve been in love, yes. Once. Moons ago, but I am not in love right now nor am I dating. I’m a bad dater, and a bad girlfriend. Would you be mad if I was dating?” Some fans expressed disinterest with her dating, however, some very bluntly told her that she was getting old and she should marry soon. “I’m not that old!” Her hidden hands came to cover her face as she spoke, offended by her fans telling her to get married soon because she was aging. “I don’t even have wrinkles yet, you are all so cruel. I’m too selfish to be a good girlfriend.” She seemed outright exasperated.
“If I wasn’t doing music, I’d be dancing. I’d be in France, doing ballet like my mother did before me. I still do dance now, but a different type of dance. Yes, my mother was famous for dance in France and New York so I would have followed her footsteps if I hadn’t picked up the violin when I was young.”
“How long have I been live.”
The fans immediately told her about fifteen minutes before she asked quietly how long do people usually go. “Should I do these more, I’m bad at talking to people. I’m rude because of that?” She stated bluntly, as she watched the comments flow. “So many of you, I expected only a small amount but why is there so many. I’m getting stage fright.” Leaning forward, she pressed her elbow into her leg and rested her chin in the palm of her hand.
“My mood right now is Ignite! From the Sovereign album. I feel on fire, ignited.” There was a groan from behind the camera before Akali got offended and pointed at the source. “Yah! It was a good joke, don’t do that. My stylist is making fun of me!” Her jaw slacked a little before she looked down again and went back into the position she had been in a few moments ago.
“I played all the instruments on the album, though Yoda also played for the song, Imma BEAST. Everything was done by me or the people on the song. I didn’t want any help.” She blinked, before looking past the camera towards the time. “I have to go soon, but I have time for a few more questions, please submit good ones. No silly questions.” The way she blinked was like she was forcing her eyes to close tightly before she waited for a good question to pop up, not looking for ones about her love life because some people didn’t believe her.
“Ah, I wear gloves because I do not like germs. I do not want to offend you guys, but I am very uncomfortable with being touched but I want to have contact with you guys so I wear gloves all the time. Please do not touch me otherwise, most of my fans from many years ago already know this.” She balled up her fist to cough into her hand, before tilting her head to the side, waves of blonde hair falling over her shoulder. “I will do more lives, soon. If you want me to.”
“I like sheet masks, for skincare. Since I don’t sleep well or rest well, I have to take very good care of my skin to make sure I don’t break out too much. I use a lot of the animal print sheet masks, I think they are cute. I also like animal filters.” Akali had a weakness for cute things, as she nodded. “I don’t have a cough, I quit smoking a long time ago. No more cough for me, it was a one off.”
There was someone talking in the background before she nodded, beginning to untangle herself from the couch and her child like position in it. “Okay, schedules call! Was it a good first vlive? Did I talk well? I’m so bad at these, I don’t even know how to turn it off. Yah, help me.” She spoke as she fiddled with the camera, and her stylist appeared in the view, letting Akali wave to her fans a goodbye before the camera cut to black. Cueing the end of Akali’s first vlive, the fans still flooding the chat with well wishes and good lucks, telling her that they want to see her again. Also wishes for her to eat well and rest, maybe take a vacation somewhere one day.

Ray normally understood he'd make it to the UFC | UFC &reg
One particular of the most surreal times in Stevie Ray’s UFC occupation occurred to him exterior the Octagon. Right after “Braveheart” fought, and beat, Ross Pearson past November in Belfast, a picture circulated on the web that showed the two rivals several years before.
In front of the Octagon, neat and collected, stood Pearson in a match, laying his arm close to a younger enthusiast who grinned vast-eyed into the digital camera that captured the instant he met a single of his idols in the activity.
“I understood back again then that I’d be combating in the UFC at some place but it is still surreal occasionally to appear back again,” explained Ray, who returns to the Octagon this Sunday to fight Paul Felder, practically 5 several years and as a lot of UFC wins later. “A whole lot of issues have occurred in excess of the past couple several years but I’m not finished however. It’s genuinely only beginning now.”
A whole lot has occurred, in fact. Owning presently sported a respectable document of eleven wins and 3 defeats at the time he had his picture taken with Pearson, Ray rattled off a different 4 wins in his future six fights. Just just after he had completed a 3-fight series with UFC veteran Curt Warburton, outdoing his rival 2-one, the major show came contacting.
Filling in on short notice, Ray pounded his way to a second-round TKO victory in excess of Marcin Bandel in the Polish submission ace’s house state in advance of excelling in front of his individual house crowd. His Efficiency of the Evening knockout in excess of Leonardo Mafra netted him a $50,000 reward, as effectively as the focus of the MMA environment.
Still, Ray is just as determined for a earn in 2017 as he was when he was starving to feed his family members in advance of getting identified as up to the UFC.
“To be straightforward, it hasn’t improved that significantly. Of course, I bought the reward and almost everything and I could find the money for a couple new issues, but with taxes and my 11-thirty day period layoff, I practically went bankrupt. If you’re not combating, you’re not building cash so I’m still just as hungry as I was when I bought to the UFC. It’s still that identical mentality.”
Ray had to sit out for practically a year just after his initially 3 UFC wins thanks to injuries and he immediately missing a conclusion to Alan Patrick in his return bout.
Getting the prospect to encounter Ross Pearson on short notice past November in Belfast, Ray bought back again on the successful track via split conclusion in advance of edging a different veteran by greater part conclusion in Joe Lauzon past April.
Ray will not settle for the notion that these modern close calls put further pressure on him to complete explosively, while.
“No, I really do not truly feel like I have to put a stamp on men (to continue on relocating up in the rankings),” Ray insisted. “The fights get more durable as I’m doing work my way up, and it is quite difficult to beat these men. A finish is just a reward.”
Right after looking at the fight versus Lauzon back again and getting had a talk with the veteran, Ray is confident that there is no controversy really worth conversing about in his earn at UFC Nashville.
“It might’ve been a draw at most but I’m reasonably sure that I won the fight,” Ray explained. “People are declaring that he won the initially round 10-eight. But a 10-eight round is provided when a single fighter has done big hurt or when the fight was practically stopped.
“I consider the hurt was not as decisive as individuals say. He landed really hard pictures, he bought to mount and he unquestionably won that round, but in the past round, with a different ten seconds, I would’ve finished it. If he bought a 10-eight in the initially round, you’d have to give me a 10-eight in the 3rd and I would’ve won the fight anyway. If they ended up the two (scored) 10-9, I would’ve won as effectively.”
The earlier will not make any difference a single way or a different when Ray returns house this weekend. Even while Ray would’ve preferred to receive key party remedy for his second Octagon appearance in as a lot of UFC situations in the Scottish cash, the Fife native explained that he is material with his spot on the key card opposite Paul Felder.
Still, “Braveheart” expects a different tricky outing versus “The Irish Dragon”.
“I’ve seen him close to and he’s a good dude,” Ray explained. “He’s tricky, but certainly I consider that I’m the much better fighter. He’s been in the UFC for a although so I hope he comes forward and delivers a show.
“He’s been a single of these men where I normally suspected I’d get matched up with him at some place so I’m psyched to fight him in Glasgow.”
He most probable shares that emotion with just about each and every enthusiast who will acquire a seat in The SSE Hydro this weekend. With the two lightweights currently being regarded as intense strikers who are capable to put relentless pressure on their foes, this fight has the prospective to steal the show on Sunday.
“With Felder currently being a tricky, skilled dude, of course I’d like to finish, but it could be a 3-round war. I’m ready for whatsoever. Enthusiasts must tune in due to the fact it is a excellent matchup, stylistically. We the two come to fight and it is going to be a excellent show.”
So, for now, amongst wreaking havoc in the cage and increasing 3 children at house, Stevie Ray does not have time to appear back again all also normally, until it is a picture with a long run foe.
Five wins into his UFC occupation, the 27-year-outdated does not plan on wasting his prime on his path to the best. Really should almost everything go effectively, he may possibly truly uncover a different connection to his earlier at the time he gets there: The gentleman Ray succeeded as the Cage Warriors light-weight winner vacated his title back again in 2013 to chase bigger fish. Conor McGregor is now the largest star mixed martial arts has at any time seen.
