     There's a penguin staring at him.

     It's really quite disconcerting, in an awfully surreal way, but Corvo is just as still as the animal is and there's a strange sort of disconnect between the revelation that this is the real world in a giant city and there is a penguin staring at him. Last time he checked, he wasn't in the right kind of biome for a penguin; but last time he checked, he also wasn't prone to staring contests with animals.

     (Aside from the white rat living in the trash outside of his home -- but he is an exception. A very nice rat, all things considered. Very large, however; at least he gets enough to eat.) 

     He doesn't move. The penguin doesn't move. He checks his phone for any recent zoo escapes. There's nothing to be found, and out of the corner of his eye the penguin is slowly inching away so Corvo looks back up at it until it freezes again.

     The penguin is, all things considered, gross. There's mud and what appears to be some kind of sewage coating its wings, and Corvo can't say he's perplexed about this; after all, they're in an alleyway and there's an open manhole not more than twenty feet away. So he does something perhaps a little strange and takes the towel that's slung across his shoulder (he was going to the gym, sweat is a serious problem with Corvo's usual routine) and holds it out to the penguin.

     Who scurries a little closer.

          And a little closer still.

               Then takes the towel, runs as fast as a penguin can run, and leaps down into the manhole again.

     Corvo calls Jessamine and asks, please, if they can go on vacation soon, maybe.

Send ☂ for a FOOD headcanon.

Joshua is capable of cooking fine meals. His motto goes, ‘anybody who can read can cook,’ because when he first started out, he started on recipe books and has never had major problems following recipes. He’s so in-tuned with food now that he knows off the top of his head what to substitute ingredients for if the particular supermarket he’s in doesn’t have what he needs. He is also discerning in that certain recipes have over-flashy ingredients which just aren’t worth buying for him, especially if he’s being moody about work, and he cuts them off that recipe for that day.

When he works in the kitchen, he’s exceptionally efficient —— he has a natural ease that allows his movements to be precise and energy-conserving. One never sees him rushing around or making huge messes except when he occasionally makes his own pasta from scratch (very, very rarely, almost never).

He has a penchant for cooking. Unfortunately, all that is wasted because work hours can be long and always come first. He usually cooks quick and simple meals, only if he has to cook at all.

Joshua strives to be mentally healthy. He has his lows when stress becomes difficult to handle, but he tries his best not to let it show for the sake of professionalism. In his recent years, he’s tried taking a few weekend getaways but he’s realised that his passion and commitments are truly at KSI, meaning that he enjoys his job. He’s thankful for that, and tries to tide the difficult days through.

      I really love playing golf and started about a year ago.

      So a couple years ago in 6th & 7th grade, I was really really into the penguins and their show and it’s kind of awkward thinking back to it but then somewhere along the lines of school & what not, I sort of forgot about the fact that these penguins existed…. but anyway then I saw you on the dash and I got really excited and followed you from a bunch of my other blogs & then I sent you an ask about how you’d feel if someone made another one of the penguins? so because skipper was probably one of my favorites of the madagascar characters, i picked him & yeah !
