Rapunzel and Flynn
MY BABIES. ULTIMATE OTP. I WILL PROTECT THEM WITH MY LIFE.
I have so much love for Rapunzel and Flynn/Eugene’s relationship, especially now with the series well under way. When I first saw the movie, I fell in love right along with Rapunzel. Eugene is one of the best Disney men in my book because he is so dynamic and developed. He and Rapunzel compliment each other so well, and they genuinely love each other with all their heart. When he came to save Rapunzel from Gothel, they each were more than willing to sacrifice their lives for one another so that their beloved could live their dreams and be the best person they could possibly be. I love the twist that she saved him in the end, as well, but overall they really saved one another from the paths they were both following.
I came into the series thinking it was going to be just another happy go lucky Disney Channel cartoon about a happy go lucky princess like the way The Little Mermaid series was– like yeah, there was adventure but it was very serial and contained. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that that wasnt the case with Tangled the Series/Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. All the people working on the show have just done such an incredible job doing justice to the film, and I love how they’re developing Rapunzel and Eugene’s relationship even more. They face some hard times, it’s not always honeymoon stage happiness. They struggle in their relationship, they struggle individually, and they struggle with the world around them. No matter what, though, they are always there for each other to try and help even if they don’t fully understand what the other is going through, even if the other person just needs some space, even if the other person doesn’t see themselves the way that they see them. I love seeing these two cuties embarking on so many wonderful adventures, learning about one another, learning about the world, learning about how to handle whatever tough situation they come across, learning to work together. It’s just an absolutely magical and beautiful and wonderful relationship and I just ugh I love them so much, OTP for life

Susan and caspian?
Okay, so obviously this wouldn’t have occurred to me in a conscious way going off of just the books, but I actually like it pretty well. Having not seen Prince Caspian in a while, I’m not sure if I’d like their dynamic as well as I did, but I think I would. The age gap thing is obviously a little funky since Susan is from Narnia past and Caspian is older in actual years, but I tend to give weird age gaps a pass when one of them is immortal, so I guess I’d put this in the same category.

@istillliveinnarnia replied to your post “I’m sorry but the fact Cor lived in Calormen for more than a decade...”
Well, in Susan’s defense, Cor was pretty dirty just then and she might have thought of that. And she was being threatened with a marriage she didn’t want and trying to find a way to escape.
Oh, that post wasn’t bashing on Susan or any of the characters. It was a jab at the biased and racist stance the narration has in The Horse and His Boy. Love the book, hate the execution.
Can we appreciate the fact Corin looks unkempt so often that Edmund, Susan, and Peridan don’t question it anymore?
“See that dirty-looking boy?”
“Same-ish build, same-ish face--yup, that’s Corin. Let’s get him, of your courtesy.”
-Chapter 4, The Horse and His Boy, probably

“The director of the first film, Andrew Adamson, was very focused on preserving real emotion, on seeing things for the first time, and having, like, a real sense of wonder. So he didn’t actually show me the set of Narnia where the lamppost is until we shot it. I was blindfolded and guided into my place, and he told me to just walk around, that the camera would follow me. And so I turned around and I saw it for the first time.”  — Georgie Henley on filming Lucy’s first entrance into Narnia
