so idk if i only liked it or if i actually put it in my queue but i saw a post that talked about a few pieces of tech that focus on user repairs and being sustainable (fairphone and frameworks laptop) and after doing some more research into what they have to offer i actually really excited that these products are finely hitting the us market and that people are moving away from the belief that super smooth streamlined glassy = the future. being able to reliably repair and keep what you have alive verse throwing the whole thing away when maybe all you needed to do is add more ram to your current laptop (something that i would do with my laptop to keep using it for a few more years if it wasnt glued shut and i was at risk of cracking the screen) or swap out a fuse.

i know big corporations dont like it but i truly do believe with how much tech we use on a daily basis that the way that we are going to be more environmentally friendly is to move back to tech that we can hang onto for as long as we can and to recycle and then reuse what we cant. like with the frameworks laptop. i saw that they just partnered with coolermaster to create a case specifically so that you can reuse you motherboard, cpu, etc and make a portable workstation. you could dual wield with the laptop you just upgraded if you want to dedicate specific tasks to one or the other. they also specifically mentioned that you could screw it into the back of a monitor and create your own all in one. guys thats cool as shit??? if you had a 3d printer and some time you could even create that yourself

on top of the actual hardware part moving to open source programs when your able. when i update my desktop i plan on running linux. it might have a learning curve compared to windows but in terms of performance??? ive heard that it runs smoother even on older machines, that its more efficient because isnt running stuff in the background that tracks your data and shit. now i understand that not everyone can do that because there are some programs that dont play nice with linux but for my needs at least it does everything i would need it to. and maybe a couple years down the road we do figure out how to run these programs on certain flavors of linux since its open source and people fiddle with it so much. (still looking for alternatives to like word and excel though, i use google docs since its free but i want to move away from them as much as i can too since they laid of their youtube music team (i believe?? it might of been a different branch) for trying to unionize)

if anyone knows of any other smaller companies that actually focus on sustainability and user repairability please let me know. theres certain pieces of tech that i think are now unfortunately behind a software repair paywall, things that used to be just machines and are gaining more bells and whistles like cars and refrigerators if that makes sense. but the more we push for these things to be repairable by us the consumers id hope that would change, or there would at least be options that dont need specific companies to repair them or else they blow up

I probably still wouldn’t have been a big fan of the game, but I don’t think I would have been NEARLY as upset about TotK if BotW didn’t seem like it was so obviously setting up plot points for a sequel. Like, you’re very clearly MEANT to wonder what malice is, and how Ganon became the Calamity instead of just the Demon King. Fi is awake again, where are they going either that? What’s the deal with the Triforce-shaped symbol on Zelda’s hand? There were a LOT of other things like that, and many of them had to do with overarching lore for the series.

I get it if they want to reboot the series, but “BotW 2” was the single worst game you could have done that with. It could have been an amazing conclusion to the original continuity.

botw felt like the introduction to a vast world with secrets and hints to things that were planned to become a bigger thing- a big giant game as a big giant set up, and then ... like totk likes to do alot, it lacks a pay off, and that is something it even does within itself, cosntantly, set up and no pay off, or set up and the most boring and uninspired pay off you can really not even call that, from the bigger things like the whole dragon thing being hammered into your head as irreversible and then it IS reversible.. out of nowhere without you having to do fuck all, the whole thing with the ancient hero beign a big mystery with lots of interesting ideas attached and then its some weird ass dog creature that doesnt resemble any other race with, of course, sonau armor, bc there nothing that isnt sonau in that game, even finding the old treasure maps you can find that then lead to amiibo stuff from botw id call that

botw wasnt that great with rewards either but exploring the world and wondering about those, surely intentionally, placed mysterious and intriguing designs and places did alot for making it so interesting to think about, totk fumbles it all and even the new stuff doesnt even come close to that environmental storytelling botw was so great at, sonau ruins? ha they look entirely different than in botw actually, bc those were built by hylians you see, the actual sonau stuff is in prime condition considering the time thats passed and its all the same blank blocky blocks that serve no purpose but to be a place for you to find a thing or exchange some currency- the most you can think about it is ... that the sonau hollowed out the entire underground of hyrule, every inch of the map, ... which is WEIRD and doesnt exactly make them look that good but ... thats all there is

at least with the shiekah it made somewaht more sense and it felt much less .. invasive? and you didnt have anyone from that time to talk to, other than dead monks whos only purpose is to give you their last piece of their own spirit, but in totk ... raurus ghost and mineru too are both just there to talk to but DONT tell you shit but vague hints that were already clear, the sky islands used to be on the ground? oh you dont say, you see them there in the stupid memories! and dont get to know how they got up there and theres nothing that can clue you in to that, its just sonau magic yet again i guess

it doesnt help that really, i dont feel like the sonau were set up either, they were a tiny part in botw, really only serving to make the world seem more ancient and more full of history, having ruins from a past civilization there you know nothing about and cant find out more is so good, its compelling and sad and makes the world feel more real, just shoving them into everything, being the center of attention all of thes udden and not even the architecure fitting feels so ... forced, i really truly believe the og sonau werent meant to be more than that, but in their fear of the game being too similarly looking like botw they took the sonau to replace the shiekah with them- imo the shiekah were the ones set up to be deeper explored in botw, with their whole misstreatment by the royal family in the past, monk miz kyoshia reacting the same way a yiga commander would was deliberate and brings up even more interesting ideas, the comments about where the mysterious energy the ancient shiekah used to power everything being concentrated in certain regions?? thats a big ass set up, the fact that the center of what is signaling everything to reactivate being below hyrule castle? the fact the whole arena thing was BUILT INTO THE CASTLE or it on top of it is so??? cool??? and sso damn intriguing, we are scratching the surface of their history- but then no, actually, the sonau are the cool new shit those other ones just uh ... disappear, also the sonau did everythign the shiekah did but even better wayy before them haha

its like they didnt want to tackle the more complicated stuff with the shiekah, their relationship to the royal family and how the yiga ... have a point and a good reason- so they replaced them with entirely new purely goodest good guys that did the same stuff before them with none of the history attached :))

non-animal leather is actually worse for the environment. Since animal leather generally comes from animals that also bring other products (meat, milk, etc), the enviromental impact of leather as a single product is much lower than the alternative. n-a leather is most commonly made up from plastics like pvc and has to be fully constructed. So it's per product more energy intensive and even aside from that has a longer negative impact due to micro plastics. I hate that it's like this. I want lab meat and sustainably created envo-positive leather and lab cheese that tastes good :(

things i want to see in DMC 6 if DMC 6 ever happens (or even just another installment into the franchise in general):

1: Vergil adopts a black cat and he names it Shadow after the familiar he had as V, and even though its really obvious thats why he got the cat he swears up and down that isn't the reason why he got it

At the same time Dante gets a dog specifically a lab and names it woozy after the force edge in dmc 1

2: while the shit twins are on their escapade in hell, they encounter some true horror shit more akin to RE than DMC but of course enemies are still dealt with in typical stylish fasion. Body horror, psychological horror, a real exploration of the twin's traumas through environmental, visual and audio storytelling

3: Kyrie is back and she actually gets a role that isnt damsel in distress or background character. Let. Her. Fight!!

Adding to 3: Kyrie gets her own custom weapons courtesy of Nico, maybe a sword based off of ones in the Order and a gun to match Nero's Blue Rose. Possibly in an angelic theme, wings and such having a strong motif while also being just as badass as we all know post-dmc 4 Kyrie really is

4: nero gets his own lineup of bosses and he actually kills them all himself, without any outside assistance from other characters. (The only boss he's killed himself is Malphas.)

5: with the shit-twins in Hell theres a fully implemented co-op mode, either split screen or over two machines, where one can play as Vergil and the other as Dante as they travel throughout hell. However if the player so chooses to go it alone, they can choose to play as either of the twins and can switch between them at places like a divinity statue.

6: more exploration into Trish and Lady as characters. Trish by the shit-twins are in hell and can find some stuff regarding her creation perhaps, and Lady by Nero as she helps him out on the surface while the shit-twins are in hell.

7: Vergil gets his own Devil Sword Vergil after Yamato is used to seal the portal between the worlds, but it has to remain as a katana like Dante's remained as a double edged sword.

8: Dante struggling with control over his SDT while they're in hell and Vergil helping him through it

9: cerberus puppies.

10: nero gets his own devil arms that he can use alongside his buster arm mechanic and red queen stays as his default weapon

11: lore exploration on Sparda while the shit twins are in hell

hey, here’s the complaint about genAI that isn’t “theoretical”: it uses a horrendous amount of water (source) despite the number of times the globe has entered a drought in the past several years. obviously, it isn’t just genAI using it, but it is an industry which has faced tons and tons and tons of growth in the past year and thus has become one of the big things sucking away our water, which often is freshwater due to the locations of these plants.

There have been a lot fo sources that put ais water usage into context that show this maybe isnt as scary as it seems but thats completely beside the point, because this is taking about all data center cooling which is responsible for all Ai usage. AI image generation is very much not the bulk of where large scale corporate demand for Ai data centers lies and not likely to be a significant factor in the demand for it growing to a degree that has a significant environmental impact. I am very specifically discussing image generation here. Once again the fact that people online and shit correlate 1:1 everything under the Ai umbrella with image generation just shows how far this conversation is removed from being functional or productive

i think matt was the first to 'join' the red army. he was attracted to the resources they have. "look at how nice the rooms are!! the bathrooms... so luxurious!! and free food?... did you see the health care they provide? i could finally get my eye checked out" tord didn't really have to convince him much. and tom followed matt. i mean it was either that or stay with edd in a filthy shed with 1000 hoarded cola cans and a bunch of stray cats. neither matt nor tom really gave a shit about the whole cola issue... seriously man just drink something else..

my version of wtfuture matt isnt exactly part of the red army. early on tord got an inkling that allowing matt to handle weaponry isnt the best idea. matt is just a citizen of the red state. military service isnt required to join. he clashes with tord a lot on environmental conservation. and he's the curator of his own government funded aquarium! he's more interested in the quality of life for the average citizen. matts the only reason why they have parks and the like. he likes to tag along on toms fetch quests, which is about as involved in politics as he gets besides the environmental activism

they both did try to convince edd to stop being a maniac. the world changed suck it up. edd doesnt care about the government or anything like that. he has no political convictions. he only cares about the food regulations that got his diabetes speed run juice outlawed. so there really wasnt any luck with getting him to join the army or even just become a citizen

it seems like such a fascinating job, i feel like i would enjoy it but alas ive never been really good at the subjects required for it, but that doesnt stop me from daydreaming and looking at your posts about your job with like... is there a word for when youre kinda jealous of someone but in a kind and inspiring way? like "wow wish that were me!" but in a sweet way? haha im sorry, english isnt my first language and i just woke up and decided to send this

Not an odd question at all!

So, as for how I became a park ranger, I live blogged the process in real time when I was first applying. In short, get two years of college (ideally a degree), learn how to write a good federal resume (it's different), apply for 100 jobs (easy once you get going), and get one job offer. The first seasonal job is the hardest, then the first permanent job. Lateral moves are really easy once you have your foot in the door. The government doesn't want to take risks on hires, but once someone else has vetted you, you can go anywhere.

And I absolutely did not always want to be a park ranger! It's like the ideal job I dreamed of at age 5, but I didn't go to school with this in mind, I wasn't dreaming about it at night. I needed a job, and this seemed like a good fit, so I went for it! It's probably a 60/40 split at my park, people who fell into this versus people who went and got one of those "Parks Management" sort of degrees that are totally useless outside this career path (and tbh really not necessary IN this career path).

And you should totally apply. The NPS manages A LOT of sites focusing on a lot of topics, and even in sites that are irrelevant to what you actually study, you'd still be bringing good skills in. Among our permanent staff I work with directly every day, we have a Parks Management degree, a music degree, geology/environmental science, biology, spanish, economics, and film arts something or other. Our summer staff has even more diverse educational backgrounds. If you're willing to put in the work, and you give a shit about where you are, you'd be a good park ranger.

I have been seeing some blogs posting shit about you, saying how you are out there making nsfw content on idols and how disgusting it is or how you are using your psych degree to diagnose idols.

I really didn't wanted to answer this, but I will because I just want to make a few points clear.

A LOT of blogs (Kpop or for other fandoms) do nsfw content for entrainment purposes, mostly using their creative writing. Although I sometimes use creative writing for some blurbs/imagines, I use astrology as a creative tool to write those head canons. People getting pressed and angry for some writing made based on astrology is in my opinion stupid. astrology isn't 100% correct and there's a lot of environmental and biosocial factors to take into account. everything I write Is for entrainment purposes as well.

When it comes to monthly readings, that's the only moment I use tarot cards on idols (I have used tarot on other headcanosn but those are always mentioned on the notes before posted, so people can take it LIGHTLY and not take my words as the holy true). Again, Tarot isnt an exact science.

I am not responsible for what people think is true or not. I am not responsible for what people read on internet. I write what I write for entrainment, because I like astrology, because I like to share posts, because this blog is my safe space to share about things I love. If anyone doesn't like it ITS IN THEIR RIGHT! but instead of sending threats and/or spreading hate, the block bottom could also be used. Because why are you beefing with astrology? I can't change what astrology means.

"Diagnose idols" this is honestly the most stupid thing I have ever read. You can't diagnose people on internet and you surely cannot diagnose idols. Psychological or psychiatric diagnoses are only VALID if a health professional (psychiatric and psychologist) made the diagnoses through interviews and with proper assessments and questionnaires. Unless you have been professionally diagnosed, astrology, tarot, your friends and yourself can't make it, for others or yourself. end of the discussion.

But one could debate and say "yeah but in your readings you speak of mental health for some idols", I do, BUT I SPEAK OF ENERGY PICKS UP! its energy. Having a depressed energy doesn't mean you have a depression disorder. Again, environmental events and factors can push energies through and through. That doesnt mean that they are a diagnose.

I really hope it was able to explain myself. also please stop sharing hate, don't you guys think there's already so much hate in the world, so why pushing it? In any case, I won't be interacting with any hate post or any ill opinion about me. People are free to do and think whatever they want.
