The first and most important victory was the demise of Mahammad Diab Ibrahim al-Masri (known as El Deif, or "The Guest"). Masri (pictured left) was a founding member of Hamas' armed wing, the Qassam Brigades in 1987. He was behind a wave of suicide attacks in 1996 that killed 65 people in Jerusalem & Tel Aviv. After the previous leader of the Qassam Brigades was killed in 2002, Deif became its leader. He has survived 7 assassination attempts in which he lost an eye. His nickname was "The Cat with Nine Lives" - and he just lived the last one of them.

His alias "The Guest" was given because he moved from hide to house almost every night in order to evade capture. Both Israel and the EU have him on terror blacklists.

The 2nd person killed in Israel's strategic attack last Saturday was Rafea Salama (pictured right). Salama is the commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade, considered to be the deadliest of Iran's militant Islamist proxies. He was the head of the most prestigious UN academic institution in Gaza ("Al-Hurani Prepatory School"), before he volunteered to become a leader of an Islamist military wing, dedicated to murdering and committing genocide against Israelis. His uncle is Adib Jawad Abu Shamala, the person who was the closest aide to Hamas founder Yahya al-Sinwar.
