This is Ishita! Despite the fact that she is an expert in alchemy, she is awful at cooking. She can slap together a sandwich or bake a popoto no problem. But anything more extensive than that and she flounders. It's baffling to everyone since alchemy and cooking are basically the same thing when you break it down to its basics. XD
I'm stuck in bed trying not to get depressed from pain, so if you see this PLEASE reblog with screenshots of your FFXIV character(s) and tell me a fun fact about them!! Can be anything, whether it's something about their story or background, or their favorite food, or which NPC they would fight first given the option. Anything goes! Bless my eyes!

Are you almost ready? The sun is starting to go down, I don't want to miss out on choosing a pumpkin to carve- ...... What's up? Do you not like the costume I picked out for you? [...Are you sure I don't, stand out too much? I just feel like I look..... Silly. Sorry. And you spent such a long time getting something that fit me as well....]
Ishi belongs to (and was dressed by) @candycryptids
Ishi does in fact quell Kizuna's anxiety about standing out too much, and feeling silly putting on an outfit(even in dark brown Kizuna feels like its too light). It's just that Kizuna doesn't like it- like a lot of things- and it's difficult for him to even admit it bothers him in the first place since it's not something he can necessarily change about himself, so he just has to make peace with it (Like, a lot of other things.) Ishi's kind of good at making him forget about all of that, though.
Kizuna's right hand is signing "Are you sure" in the first pic and "Sorry" in the second one.
Aaaand here's a full body of one very large boy who is also very good at making himself small

🏆 for a screenshot associated with victory or triumph.
Hi oh my god sorry this took so long 🥴💖
In honor of Miqo March heres Ishi
[Spoilers in text for Post ARR]
Tumblr media
After Moenbrydas abrupt sacrifice it was kinda a huge hit to his mental health, he fell back on bad habits (drinking, gambling, retail therapy) to try and drown his feelings out (without much success really) and ended up pushing away his dearest friend at the time who was ALSO trying to cope with Moenbrydas death but ALSO the loss of G’Raha (Ishi didn’t do Crystal Towers, he was drinking and Gambling. Kizuna did it without him because his way of coping with grief was to throw himself into More Tasks)
Ishi ends up buying 1 (one) jumbo cactpot ticket on a whim and ends up actually Winning the whole kitkaboodle much to his shock (he’d been on a lucky streak but he hadn’t expected to WIN)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is actually what shakes him free of his depression long enough to think about the future again :T because I know in game MGP =/= Gil, but I feel like canon lore is MGP=Gil like in actual casinos :/ so he comes into a Ton Of Money all at once and uses that to. Buy a house. (Lucky bastard won the gamble on the housing lottery too and that’s why HE HAS A HOUSE AND CHUU DOESN’T WOOPS LOL. I didn’t realize you couldn’t have more than one house per world at the time 🤪 it’s ok that’s what Makeplace is for. My horrible house decor habits for character development can continue)
Also Kizuna is the special-est guy in the whole universe and belongs to
-> @zombiesockfuckinglovescardfight <-
Thanks for the ask 💖💖💖💖 [Prompt List]

i love ishi but i cant help but be genuinely affected by his depiction in fanon. it makes me terribly uncomfortable and distances me from him when im already focused on another piece of media at the moment. why do people have to be so weird and gross about him. why cant you just leave him alone? treating him like some kind of traumatized crybaby dress up doll :/ thats not my ishi. thats not him.

Initially Ishita started out as a Lalafell, because I first came up with her as a halfling for D&D. I don't remember exactly when I fantasia-ed her into an Au ra but I believe it was at some point during late Heavensward/early Stormblood. I did the switch because I was losing interest in the game and I didn't feel like I was having fun as a Lala.
What race is your WoL and what made you choose it?

Holy Shit, Oh My God, This Is a Long Ass Lore Post
Alrighty then. Thank you to @hikari-ni-naritai for the absolute plethora of questions. To be honest a lot of these are questions I never really considered before, so I gotta do a bit of digging around in my brain meat.
Tumblr media
2.) How did they acquire their Echo?
I never thought of this before, but I now want Ishi to have acquired it after going on her investigation in Kugane to find her parents. She looked/asked around for an Auri couple for what felt like an enternity and one night as she went to sleep after a particularly fruitless day of questioning she had an incredibly vivid dream. A woman's voice, stars raining down from the sky, etc. The next day after walking through the Ijin District she witnessed a Garlean accosting some random passerby and she experienced her first Echo vision. She saw the same Garlean accusing her parents of espionage and took them into custody. The only lead she had after that was that they were taken somewhere called Castrum Abania.
---
3.) Does their Echo function like it does in the MSQ? Or is there a twist to it?
I think Ishi's Echo would function like the one we have in game for the most part. But, I LOVE the idea that the Echo allows the character to see the different battle mechanics that we, the player, are able to see and that is why our WoL is so hard to beat in combat.
---
5.) Where are they from? What was their childhood like?
Ishi grew up in The Tail Mountains, the home of the Angura tribe, with her mother (Veda), father (Ashish), and step sister (Willow). She was a bit of a know it all and super arrogant when she was little because all of the adults in her life would heap praise on her and call her a child prodigy because of her natural aptitude for magic. After her parents found Willow abandoned and took her in she mellowed out a bit, but was still a bit prideful. She didn't have many friends because of her attitude, but the one friend she did have, Varun, saw the good in her and he was the only person she could be completely vulnerable around.
 ---
7.) How did they deal with Haurchefant’s death?
.:Stars Align:. Ishi didn't personally know him that well. The only frame of reference she had for his character was through U'tala and how his death impacted her.
.:Diamond Aegis:. Ishi thought of him like another brother, very similar to Varun, both men being very bubbly and their strong willingness to defend the innocent. When he died she was devastated, but she didn't have time to mourn him properly so she was fairly cold and distant, she cut herself off from her emotions to an extant in order to continue on with the pursuit of Thordan.
---
11.) Were they more sympathetic to the dragons, Ishgardians, neither or both?
100% sympathetic to the dragons. In my .:Stars Align:. timeline she straight up joined the heretics because Ysayle showed her the truth to the Holy See's transgressions. Though she did come to the conclusion that it was wrong that the innocents of Ishgard were going to be the ones to pay for the consequences of their ancestors deeds and that the Church was content with that if it meant Thordan stayed the Arch Bishop.
---
13.) Are they close with any of the other Scions? Who do they get along with the best?
Ishi get's along with basically all of the Scions, but she is closest to Y'shtola, G'raha, and Alisaie. Y'shtola she sees as an academic rival and love's having intellectual conversation with her. G'raha is her platonic soulmate, they bring out best in each other. Alisaie is her pupil, in my canon Ishi was the one to teach her Red Magic, with X'rhun's help of course, put Ishi was her primary teacher.
---
17.) Who is their favorite Alliance leader? Who do they get along with the best out of them?
I'm just gonna say that anytime I see Aymeric pop up on screen I act like a giddy school girl and leave it at that.
---
19.) What do they think of the Heaven’s Ward?
Bastards, the lot of them. Thordan's perosnal goon squad and nothing more.
---
23.) Are there any side quest storylines that you’re particularly fond of or think of as being canon to your WoL’s experiences?
The Hildebrand Quests are all canon for Ishi. I used to be of the opinion that the quests were too silly, but my partner and I did them all together and I was able to see the heart in them and have fun with the silliness.
---
29.) Did your WoL suspect anything was amiss with Urianger or the Crystal Exarch? Did they feel betrayed? Upset? When the truth finally emerged?
She believed Urianger up until she overheard the argument between him and Y'shtola, if Y'shtola was able to tell something was off then it warranted concern. She even opened the door and joined in on the conversation too, if this concerned her safety and the safety of the group then she felt she should be privy to any information Urianger had.
The Exarch was a little more complicated, though Ishi did have her suspicions that he was in fact G'raha Tia she didn't push him on the matter. Hells, the last time they interacted she didn't even know if G'raha saw her as anything more than a work colleague or that he cared enough about her to keep secrets from her. So her initial interactions with him were very professional, but through his actions she could see that The Exarch was a genuinely good person. When she saw that she was right about The Exarch and G'raha being the same person it initially hurt, this person she cared about lied about who he was so she wouldn't try to stop him from killing himself to save everyone, to save people he would never get the chance to know.
---
31.) What were their first impressions of Hien?
Ishi thought Hien was going to be another super serious noble who only cared about his royal duty, but seeing his warmth, kindness, and playful banter with Yugiri and Gosetsu made her reconsider that stance.

Show only tweet I just saw:
I'm a show only and I'm half way through s1 and they should've already explained what the point of the Dragon is.
Maybe I'm misremembering s1 but was it not addressed in literally every episode in s1? Including the first half?
1x01: Moiraine explains that the previous Dragon and his 100 Companions broke the world in the previous Age. She tells the EF5 that one of them is the Dragon
1x02: Rand talks about how it's said the Dragon will either save or destroy the world
1x03: Dana tells Rand and Mat how the Dragon has the ability to help end all the suffering in the world and break the Wheel (granted she is a Darkfriend and is an unreliable source but she's telling the truth about Ishy's endgame though the audience doesn't know that yet)
1x04: Logain says the Dragon is meant to save the world or destroy it and how the last Dragon broke the world but he means to bind it. Again, maybe some people don't see Logain as a reliable source but when he talks to Moiraine she doesn't contest it just tells him he's not the Dragon
Oh and Alanna talks to Moiraine about how what would happen if they Gentled the Dragon Reborn before he led them against the Dark One in the Last Battle.
There's plenty here in just the first 4 episodes so I'm confused as to what more this person wants? (And I'm probably missing some things too)
Are people just not paying attention, want everything spoonfed to them, or want all the lore explained right now immediately?

Was talking with a moot and they were saying how they don't feel like the show is doing a good job of explaining the lore. How right now we don't know what being the Dragon actually means, what ta'veren are, what the Dark One even is, what does he want, why does the Dragon fight him, how all of these mythologies are built into the worldbuilding in the books but aren't as clear in the show/feels disconnected. Idk I feel like the show is just introducing these things at a slower pace than the books did and that's not necessarily a bad thing
i just don't get these arguments because most of these lore points literally have been explained in the show???? do these book fans just miss it when lore is incorporated via natural dialogue or via Showing Not Telling instead of via somebody sitting us down to do an infodumping monologue for 5 minutes? i swear to god so many readers just don't pay attention to the show and then whine that it's missing stuff it did in fact include.
dragon stuff: this has been abundantly explained in both seasons, meanwhile in the books the concept of TDR wasn't even introduced until book 2. we will get more specifics at the same time rand does in upcoming seasons, just like in the books. at this early stage we don't need to know any more than "the dragon is a chosen one figure whose purpose is to fight the dark one and lead the last battle."
what the dark one is: a bad guy (duh) but otherwise left intentionally vague to build up mystery, just like the books did. we don't have the slightest conception of what TDO actually is until his first onscreen "appearance" in book SIX.
what does he want: to break the wheel and end existence. ishy's literal entire season 2 storyline was about this, and it went into way more detail than books 1-3 did. i'm not sure we got much of this stuff in the books until moridin came on the scene.
ta'veren is the only one i'd agree the show hasn't gone into much (though it DID explain the concept in 1x08), but, again, do we need to know that much about it right now? we know that our EF5 are Special, and that's enough if you ask me.
(i also wonder if the show might go a bit lighter on ta'veren than the books. idk, some of the stronger Main Character Energy stuff like plot armor and convenient coincidences and people blurting out secrets around them might come off a bit silly, and as for the stuff relating to the pattern controlling ta'veren's paths, it's interesting but it's pretty deep lore and the story doesn't really change whether or not we're explicitly aware that the events that happen to our gang are predestined. like, we'll obviously get plenty of predestination stuff with rand's dragon prophecies and min's viewings and likely the finn, so how necessary is it to also go into great detail on ta'veren predestination?)
having watched both seasons with my show-only non-fantasy-literate mom, i can attest that there is SO MUCH information for newcomers to wrap their heads around and i think her brain would have exploded if these seasons had tried to squeeze in any more than they did. she made me take down notes she could review between episodes! you should've seen her poor eyes glazing over at all the lore & worldbuilding stuff getting thrown at her in 2x05! this also goes for stuff like the whining about the show not yet using the words saidar & saidin - if they'd been throwing those around constantly since day 1, my mom would've had no fucking clue what they were talking about because she really struggles with remembering fantasy jargon, whereas consistently referring to it as "the male/female half of the source" in these early seasons is way more intuitive and way more effective at teaching her how this magic system works.
at the end of the day, the show simply is not ever going to flesh out the lore and mythology as deeply as the books do due to limitations of this different medium, and people need to accept that. it will explain as much lore as is necessary to understand the story and not much more than that, and that's absolutely fine. show-onlys are understanding the story just fine with the information the show is choosing to include, and lore nerds can knock themselves out rereading the books anytime they want.

Season 2, Episode 6 Liveblog
Elayne is getting a puzzle! :D this is such good enrichment for Elaynes
Rand’s secret little smile at ‘you can fight anyone’
“It needs to be healed” creepy but I kinda love it in a fucked up way
Not the pitcher :(
“That’s almost nice” WTF that’s so dehumanizing and so Seanchan
Well that’s almost entirely by the book
Compare/contrast these two chained up figures
Importance of chosen names
This is a much more effective mindfuck then whatever TGH Selene was attempting
Psssst Rand it’s bad when your new girlfriend separates you from your support network
Min you are harshing the vibe
“She broke the 3 oaths?” “Every single one” (Elayne took notes)
Names are a theme
I don’t think I want Lanfear doing me favors
“Many paths through the dark” I do appreciate leaning into the Lanbiguity
Suroth, if the Empress saw how you were toying with her Gardener she’d be very upset, those are Imperial property
Loial, have you considered: Stab them with the plant
We are about to have pitcher problems
The way the a’dam prevents a damane from using things they think of as weapons is a weird twisted echo of the 2nd oath. I’ve wondered if the Oaths would prevent Aes Sedai from making a’dam and I think it would depend on what the Aes Sedai termed a weapon that someone could kill another with.
Yeah this is pure book although the ‘you’re not a person’ line is an extra ouch
“Pour a glass of water” echoing horribly the water-cleaning from the tower
When you deal with the devil, that is actually how it works, I’m afraid
Temple of the Forsaken??? Y’all I need some fic set here. I need Dark Raves honoring Asmodean. I need therapy sessions that make you worse sponsored by the Acolytes of Graendal. I need Moghedonists whispering the sacred crypto wallet keys to each other.
Siuan is probs putting out diplomatic fires in Caemlyn now that they lost Elayne? Or attending Gawyn’s birthday party I guess
Oooh is it the trippy ~TGH dream sequence?
Lmao she calls him Ishy
“See the world as it really is in the World of Dreams” what a fascinating take
Do not ask about Egg!!! this is Lanfear she will make Egg into a flesh balloon for touching you
Smart Rand would be like ‘oh now I know you’re lying [about Egwene being Ishy’s]’ but Idk how smart he is
Oh this is heartbreaking she found the lost sister
Ooooooh are we going to see Bayle again so soon?
Nyneave like ‘I’ll allow it” but only because Elayne is saying what she would have
Elayne is getting a puzzle! :D this is such good enrichment for Elaynes
Awwww what a nice nosy boy who will repeat the contents of the letter
Watch she doesn’t stab you when you look away
Mommy issuessssss
I like the air knives
Because you want a legacy!
Ooooh lesson time. Everyone is barfing in this ep
Rand’s secret little smile at ‘you can fight anyone’
Oh god [MY BOYS!!!]
KISS!!! -ok moment’s gone
Mat and his lil grabby hand on Rand’s shoulder, my tactile boy
‘Some of the damane can sense people channeling’ guess we def changed the lore about how channelers sense each other, mildly annoyed about that, but it’s consistent within the show
That’s smart, trying to see the catch in the water like a mirror
Exercising power
Oooof that’s a new twist “I hope they told you at your White Tower how special you are”
Renna are you going to make her set it on fire??? The thing that comforts her? [post-ep I was thinking about the contrast in how the Seanchan command Loial and his tree powers- they are uncomfortable with it and have to ruin the moment. They don’t have the same power over him without tools.]
Well that was an uncomfortably sexually charged moment of excited panting [please tell me it wasn’t just me]
Proud of you, Egwene <3 Hah you made Renna mad good for you
Elayne: “I need a bestie real bad”
Mat gets it because Mat also has The Depression
RESCUE TIME
Min is like I am here to give you bad news, as is my fate
Mat’s good at bullshit detecting & does not handle betrayal well
This is very sweet but I feel like the subtext is “You will be eaten alive as king”
Pope hat
Oh my boys they are so sad
It’s time for… [Alanna and her posse corner Rand] OH SHIT IS IT HAPPENING?
I don’t think Nyneave does modulation
“It needs to be healed” creepy but I kinda love it in a fucked up way
Ooooof next time we see Ryma she’ll be with my Most Problematic Of Faves I guess 🫣😬☹️
This series loves to hang characters and if it can’t get Mat than anyone else will do
[Renna pours out the cup Egwene just filled] Oh fuuuuuuuck you Renna
You still won. You’re still alive
Our lost Blue Sitter coming in at the clutch

As much ad I would love to say blue for Ishita, I don't think it is, at least not entirely. Ishita has a white almost silver aura with small swirls of a light shade of blue to indicate how much her aether is skewed toward ice, i.e. Shiva's affect on her aether.
FFXIV Daily Question n°40 : Alchemy quest told us about the color of people's aura. What color would be your character's aura ? ( Bonus : tell us why if you feel too. )

Winter Day 7 of Glamtober
As soon as they arrived at Falcon's Nest, Kizuna just took off. He'd been on edge ever since they got into Ishgard proper, but Ishi never knew how to ask him and the rift between them had grown wider and wider. Luckily Ishi could keep up as Kizuna headed straight out of the settlement, climbing jagged walls of ice and rock until he came upon a tree, sideways and nearly uprooted but still growing on the edge of a cliff. He'd never felt farther away as they stood there in silence and Ishi finally realized, I don't really know anything about Kizuna's past, do I?
Maybe I don't deserve to know, but he needs someone to talk to. I just have no idea how to ask.... -Ishi'li Jusumhi
Ishi belongs to @candycryptids
Shader is Neneko Haze[Red] and Neneko Frakenstein Glams/lore/bonus shots under the cut!
Kizuna, Warrior: Head- Werewolf head (modded) Body- Anemos Suspenders (Midnight Blue) Hands- Anemos Gloves (Kobold Brown) Leg- Summer Sunset Bottoms (Kobold Brown) Feet- Anemos Expeditionary's Boots (Kobold Brown) Earring- Menphina's Earring Main Hand- Giantsgall War Axe Ishi, Ninja:
Head- Ramie Hood (Plum Purple) Body- Ramie Poncho (Plum Purple) Hands- Peacelover's Gloves (Charcoal Gray) Leg- Ramie Slops (Gloom Purple) Feet- Lucian Prince's Shoes Earring- Purple Moth Orchid Corsage
After certain events post ARR, Kizuna withdraws and starts bottling up a brewing storm of emotions. Being back in Ishgard doesn't help either- this was his home once. A home he got chased out of, a home he didn't have citizenry to, a home that he couldn't walk the streets of freely without being seen as a heretic because of the way he looked. This was his home. This tree once stood in his yard, the only thing left not burned to the ground or buried under broken land and eternal ice. Kizuna remembers failing to help a friend, and blaming himself, and the consequences of spurning the head of a noble house. Kizuna remembers his past and gets angry.

I don’t think it’s quite that the show Forsaken can only be killed by balefire, maybe that they just have extra physical regeneration capabilities (they are literally thousands of years old!). But really, it’s not going to be lore-breaking considering how many Forsaken are alive at the end of series plus how those few who didn’t make it actually died.
Let’s recap the ends of those who we can reasonably assume will be in the show:
*full series spoilers ahead*
Lanfear: alive
Graendal: backfired Compulsion, but alive (I hope we don’t do Hessalam, but even then she was killed and put into another body as punishment by the Shadow)
Moghedien: collared but alive
Semirhage: balefired
Mesaana is probably not making it but she ends the books alive but braindead
The boys are less straightforward as we still don’t know who made it besides Ishy, but here’s a few stronger contenders:
For thoroughness, Ishamael pre-Moridin: stabbed with a magic “sword”
Sammael: eaten by Mashadar
Asmodean: killed by Graendal
Rahvin: balefired
M’Hael: reverse balefired
I really don’t think Aginor/Osan’gar is going to make it but he dies in Generic Magic Blast. Aran’gar gets super balefired.
Only Demandred dies from a physical, not magical, injury. Perhaps this could be explained by the degree of said injury although Lanfear was also stabbed in the throat. I’ve seen discourse that Moiraine not hacking apart Lanfear was a plot hole, but I mean she’s not trained with a sword so it’s not that easy to just. Cut her head off or something. Maybe Lan *could* do that in the duel with Demandred, but I’m also really into the speculation that Shara will be replaced with a split Seanchan faction, which would probably exclude Demandred from the story at that point.
The other consideration around resurrection is only Ishamael has it happen to him out of the non-balefired cohort anyways. Asmodean is seen as a traitor and Sammael just doesn’t presumably because his soul was eaten. Demandred also doesn’t get revived I’m guessing because the Dark One was preoccupied. So again not totally lorebreaking, he is the specialest little Chosen who gets to be brought back to life to do this again and again and again.
