FIRST DATE + KAIJU NO.8 MEN
where they would take you on a first date ft. hibino, ichikawa, narumi, hoshina & isao shinomiya
info: finally writing for one of my favest dilfs hehehe ily isao i can b ur new wife pls one chance; not proofread as always + requests are open!!
kafka hibino is a simple man. he would enjoy a simple cafe or restaurant date, but during the day. hibino wants to have lunch with you, talking and getting a break from your day—it would be extremely relaxing for him. if you two still have time to spare even after finishing, he would take you to a walk, trying his best to subtly show you he wants to hold your hand. in the end, it doesn't matter if you two kiss or not; just spending time with you was enough for him.
reno ichikawa is extremely nervous about going out with you for the first time. he planned it all, asked you out and made sure everything was perfect, but he still got a annoying feeling on his stomach and a buzz on his ears. when you arrived at the museum he suggested, thirty minutes early, he was already there, holding a flower bouquet of your favorite color—if you asked, he would say he had just arrived too, but he would be there two hours earlier. the date ended up being perfect, everything from the museum itself to the way he treated you would be magical.
it doesn't come as a surprise, but gen narumi would drag you to an arcade. he would spend more time trying to win in every single game you two play together than actually anything date related—it makes you wonder if he forgot that you two were supposed to be there as a romantic thing. if he notices you're not having as much fun as him, he would try to get a plushie you want from a claw machine; your fun would come in the form of narumi failing multiple times to get any plushie at all.
soshiro hoshina would take you to the theater for a first date. he wanted to watch a comedy movie, his smile never leaving his lips as he talked about how he liked the actors in it. if there's another movie you want to watch too, he wouldn't mind watching both, so it could be a enjoyable night for both of you. he insists on paying for everything and grabs your favorite candies and beverage; but if you don't watch out, he might eat it all by himself.
isao shinomiya takes you to a fancy restaurant. the thing is: he gets a reservation for the whole restaurant. when he comes to pick you up at your place, he compliments your beauty—he still have the serious expression he always wears, but you can see how his eyes soften up a little—and opens the door for you. at the restaurant, you find it odd that only two waiters are working and there's no one there (you know it's a very good place, so it's even stranger). as if he read your thoughts, the man would whisper that he reserved the whole place so you two would be able to have a little more privacy. the whole night would be amazing, he would hear and ask questions about your day and life, even giving you a soft smile and chuckle if you said something funny that happened to you.

♡~Making Gintoki Sakata flustered!~♡
This is how I imagine Y/n stealing a kiss from Gintoki when she wants to annoy him ;)
Hope you enjoy<3
(I love him<3)
*Y/n smiling softly at Gintoki*
Gintoki: *was trying to read Jump*
Stop staring at me like that you idiot *all flustered and red*
Y/n: Aww you're a little tsundere sometimes (^w^)
Gintoki: I'm not a tsundere! I'm just annoyed that you look at me with those eyes that makes my heart skip a beat.
Y/n: Then do something to stop me
Gintoki: *grabs her chin*
Maybe I should shut you up then.
Y/n: Maybe you should yeah
Gintoki: Tch...you're such a pain in the ass, you know?
*Presses his lips against hers*
Y/n: *smiles in the kiss*
Gintoki: *pulls away from the kiss*
That'll shut you up for a while...
*Confident*
Y/n: Mmm, I'm not sure, I don't think that was enough...
Gintoki: Not enough, huh? You're such a pain.
*Grabs her and pins her against the wall before kissing her again*
One thing is for sure, Gintoki definitely didn't finished Jump that day.

May I ask first date headcanons for Sougo and Kondo? Thanks!
A/N: I had kinda went a bit overboard on Sougo’s part, since it had gotten far too angsty than I had initially planned. Just wanted to apologize if this wasn’t entirely what you were asking for.😅 But I still made sure to end it with enough fluffiness to make up for it! At least I hope I did.
Ft: Okita Sougo & Kondō Isao (Gintama).
Okita Sougo
➵ Okay, so first things first. Sougo is not the type to just ask his s/o out straight off the bat. The two of them had most likely ran into each other far too many times in the most inconvenient moments. It had probably been situations that made most people believe they had already been on a date.
➵ But after realizing that he didn’t mind spending time with them like this, he decided to make a move. Though, I’m gonna be frank. Knowing Sougo, there was obviously nothing romantic in his approach. Perhaps the most comical of it all, was the fact that the previous little coincidental “run intos” were much more romantic and pleasing than the real deal.
➵ Being a sadist is literally a part of his identity and whether his s/o likes it or not, they’ll just have to deal with it. Their first date is probably going to be a bit more extreme than the following ones (if his s/o is willing to endure it and decides not to dump him—if that really is the case then they must be an angel sent from heaven).
➵ Why? It’s just that the guy will only soften up to them with time. He’s still going to be a menace, but it’ll be more tolerable and stop resembling a torture session.
➵ I can most likely see him take his s/o to an unusual restaurant or some other adrenaline eliciting place. This depends on their preferences—what they dislike the most that is.
➵ Depending on his s/o’s food preferences he’ll might just choose the restaurant that’ll fit perfectly into their very own interpretation of what a personal h*ll is. If they hate sweets, then expect a pastry shop. If they dislike spicy foods, then he’ll find literally the hottest dish on the menu. If they’re not that picky, fear not. The b*stard will still find a way to make his s/o cry at the end of their visit.
➵ Just like I had previously mentioned, a restaurant is not the only variant that he has on the list. Adrenaline inducing places is another one. He’ll probably even make it seem romantic, only to hit on the most vulnerable spot. Is his s/o afraid of heights? The Ferris wheel it is. Or let’s go bungee jumping if that’s not enough of a scare.
➵ He’s not mean enough to force them into a state of panic whatsoever. If he notices that they’re about to have an attack or are close to passing out, he’ll make sure to get them away from that place.
➵ By the way, he might not admit to it, but he actually enjoys it when his s/o clings onto him like a frightened koala. It’ll make him feel accomplished, but he’s also secretly happy since their actions show him that they really do trust him—and this sadistic baby is actually very touch starved.
➵ In addition, this may not seem relevant, but I’ll still say it. If his s/o really reminds him of his sister, then expect him to act the exact same way with them as he did with her.
You’re beginning to regret ever accepting this—whatever this is. There’s no way you’ll acknowledge this as a date anymore. You should’ve known that there was a reason behind his sudden sweet behavior. A part of you feels like crying, because you had truly looked forward to your first date. But now, a part of you is beginning to question his so-called “feelings” for you.
Maybe you were just being overly sensitive. After all, it had never been a secret that the guy found some sick enjoyment in tormenting others. But a part of you was hoping that he’ll act differently with you. He had been the one to ask you out, for crying out loud! You’re pretty sure that when a person asks you out it means that they like you, maybe even find you attractive. Sougo, however, had been sending you the exact opposite signals.
“I think this was a mistake.”
You weren’t looking at him as you spoke. In all honesty did you not think that you’d have the strength to. You were already close to tears. God only knows what will happen once you make eye contact with his gorgeous maroon colored eyes.
Whatever it had been that Sougo had been talking about came to an abrupt stop as soon as he heard your quivering voice. Sure, he might have been a bit mean this whole time, but up until this point it didn’t seem to bother you that much. He might not look like it, but Sougo is actually very observant and perhaps he now realized that he might’ve gone a bit to far with his antics.
“Oh? Is [Name]-chan tired already? Do they want to go home?” There was a teasing edge to his voice that you mistook for mockery and were about to leave, until the male reached out for your shaky figure to cradle you in his arms.
“Awe, don’t cry. We’ll go somewhere else next time, alright?” Sniffing, you decided to look up, no longer hiding your face in his chest. He was still sporting that infuriating smirk on his handsome face, but it was much kinder this time.
“Promise?” Your lips had formed into a childish pout, a small part of you still upset over the way he had been acting so far. But you were glad that he had paid enough attention to you to notice and did not straight out ignore like you had expected him to do. You knew he wouldn’t apologize, but the effort that he was putting was enough to make you understand that his feelings really were genuine.
“Promise. Wherever you’d like, your choice.”
Kondō Isao
➵ There is one big difference between Sougo and Kondō when it comes to romance. Both suck at it, but for major different reasons. Unlike Kondō, Sougo is actually capable of creating a romantic atmosphere if he wants to. Kondō, on the other hand, simply does not know how to. Which is quite amusing to be honest, since the guy is a big romantic.
➵ He loves anything that would usually be considered cliché and has so many ideas running through his mind. It just makes it all the more hilarious how he’s just incapable of making it a reality.
➵ While Sougo had just bluntly told his s/o that he likes them, Kondō would probably confess in the most embarrassing way possible. I swear! This man was practically yelling at his s/o from across the street to go on a date with him.
➵ Like any rational person they obviously rejected him a few times before finally accepting. There’s nothing mean behind his s/o’s actions, they were just genuinely weirded out by him and had a hard time comprehending what was going on.
➵ When it comes to planning their first date, he’d probably make use of his stalkerish tendencies. This was before his s/o had even met him. His s/o was truly convinced that there was a gorilla roaming around your neighborhood until he had decided to yell out his confession.
➵ That was also his s/o’s moment of realization. In other words: The day they had found out that he was actually a human and not just some random gorilla-looking amanto, stealing bananas from the local shops.
➵ So like I said earlier, the man has tons of ideas, to which he also adds his s/o’s likes and dislikes so that he can avoid any possible disaster. Problem is, it’s still going to turn out into a disaster. But it’s the effort that counts.
➵ The absolute first date will most likely be some kind of festival or amusement park. Because who doesn’t like festivals and amusement parks? Kondō can truly not comprehend the thought that somebody might in fact not like them.
➵ If his s/o does, then congrats. If they don’t, then he’ll probably be disappointed that he didn’t manage to come up with something that suited their taste. But if that really does happen, then he’ll just ask them what they would like to do and then just go with the flow from then on.
➵ Surprises! Don’t forget to expect tons of surprises! And it’s probably during one of these surprises that the long awaited disaster finally happens.
The date wasn’t horrible per se. You had truly found it adorable how hard the man next to you was trying. Always prioritizing your needs before his. It made your heart melt. You had seriously started questioning why you even rejected him all those times to begin with.
“Are you alright Kondō-san?” Despite how comical everything looked, you couldn’t help but feel slightly worried. The man did take quite a blow after all.
“There’s nothing to worry about [Last name]-san, I’ve taken much worse hits than this.” Even though his words were meant to ease your nerves, they somehow managed to worsen everything instead. A part of you was wondering if it had been those previous “hits” that he’s got from work that made him like this. Maybe he should rethink his lifestyle? Living like this could be rather damaging for both his brain and his body as a whole, after all.
“I still don’t understand what made you think it was a good idea to pierce your thumb with that needle?” A blush was dusting his cheeks as the question was voiced. You couldn’t help but giggle at how adorable he was right now.
“I just noticed the way you were looking at the fish tank and wanted to catch them for you.” This enticed another laugh to come out, since you thought his explanation was utterly ridiculous. However, despite that, it was still very sweet of him.
“I wonder just how much knowledge you must carry with you to know how bloodthirsty those amanto-fishes truly are.” Although the male did seem to manage to show off his knowledge, it still did not make the act in itself any less foolish. Kondō was aware that this peculiar species has an exceptional sense of smell, yet he still underestimated just how aggressive they could get. He had simply not expected them to jump out of the tank and attack him.
“I swear that our next date will be much better than this one!” He then exclaimed with a determined expression, aready planning where he would take you. You, on the other hand, smiled with content, not minding if it would turn out the same way this one had.
“I’m looking forward to it.”

Director Jealous- I Mean, General
Fluff
Isao Shinomiya x gn!reader
Warnings: none
A/n: I made up the Platoon Leader character, just fyi :)
You sighed, setting your lunch tray down with a bit more force than intended, the loud clunk of plastic hitting tabletop reverberating through the dining hall. It was another fine day at the Ariake Maritime Base but you were so exhausted that you decided to take your second meal break early. Being Chief of Staff was certainly no joke—you always had meetings to attend, battle plans to write out, training to keep your body in top shape. You loved your job, though, because it made you feel like you were truly making a difference in the Defense Force. It certainly didn’t hurt that rising up the ranks allowed you to spend more time with Director General Shinomiya, who you considered a coworker, and was the man you’d been hopelessly in love with for an embarrassingly long time. You didn’t mind pining from afar since the prospect of approaching him with a topic of anything but anti Kaiju tactics was much too scary. You also weren’t worried that someone else would confess romantic intentions to him before you ever could because his gruff demeanor and no nonsense attitude certainly weren’t causing people to fight for his affections.
Not that people were lining down the block to steal your heart, either.
You sighed again, this time taking some food to your mouth in an attempt to enjoy your meal. The saying is correct that it’s lonely at the top: you’d worked so hard in your career that you had no time for a significant other and you rarely saw your family due to other obligations. Even friends were slim pickings here at headquarters since most people in First Division wouldn’t chance talking to a superior like yourself in such a casual way and the rest of your peers were either gone on business trips or holed away in their own offices nonstop.
“L/n, right? Chief of Staff?”
You turned your head to face the person standing next to you. You recognized the smiling man as a First Division Platoon Leader. You nodded, allowing him to continue.
“Wow, I never see you high rankers out here! Can I sit?”
He motioned to the seat next to you and again, you nodded. He was right that the higher ups weren’t in the dining hall too often. You usually chose to eat in your office, trying to get as much work done as possible at all times. Today was a rarity for you in that you really needed a break. You also really needed a friend, so you let him talk your ear off as you munched away.
“I’m Kiyoshi Kato, Platoon Leader. Of course, you probably already knew that. Anyway, I’ve been working on this idea for a smoother evacuation plan…”
Kiyoshi then delved deep into his well thought out plan. You wanted to be frustrated that you couldn’t escape work in the one place that no one ever gets work done, but you had to admit, his idea was genuinely smart. You saw where improvements could be made, but overall, it was pretty solid.
“I’m impressed, Kato,” you said, giving him a hearty pat on the back, “you made some really good points in that idea of yours. Why don’t you type up a proposal and run it by my office later?”
You had never seen someone’s eyes light up quicker than his did in that moment.
No one had ever seen a man’s eyes darken as quickly as Isao Shinomiya’s did when he saw you speaking with and smiling at a subordinate. As he stood in the doorway of the dining hall, an unfamiliar squeeze of his heart was harshly felt. He had come by your office earlier, hoping to catch a glance of you and exchange pleasantries, but when you weren’t there, he frowned deeply. Where could you be? You were always in your office. In fact, he walked by there so often he inadvertently learned your schedule. It was only 11:30am; you usually didn’t leave for lunch until 11:47am. Lo and behold, he found you at the dining hall, much too early and off schedule for Isao’s liking. He wanted to walk forward and break up whatever moment you two were sharing, but he found himself unable to move, his gaze frozen on the scene in front of him. You had been smiling that wonderful smile of yours, but something was horribly wrong—your hand was resting on the back of another man. Isao’s own hand was clenched in a fist by the time you moved away from the mystery man, and his boots hit the ground with a heavy thud of each step as he finally reached your table.
“L/n. When you’re finished with your meal, I need to speak with you.”
The words left his mouth before he could convince himself it was a bad idea to approach you. What he was going to speak to you about was yet to be determined, but he knew he couldn’t stand seeing you with this other man for another minute.
“D-director General, sir! I was just leaving, sir!” the man saluted nervously, turning to you and saluting you as well before clearing his tray in a hurry. Isao wanted you to have friends, but you deserved to be around someone who actually understood you, someone who was of a higher caliber and rank.
Someone like him.
“I think you scared off poor Platoon Leader Kato,” you joked, letting out a laugh that rivaled the lightness of a feather.
“Hm. If he’s that scared of me, he shouldn’t have that job,” Isao said, his harsh tone holding more disdain than usual, but you didn’t seem to notice.
“I’ll be on my way. Enjoy your meal,” he told you, quickly turning on his heel and all but running out of the dining hall. He needed answers, quick.
“Narumi! What do you know of a platoon leader named Kato?”
The Director General found himself in the middle of the disheveled room of the man who knew almost everything about everybody in the First Division—Gen Narumi. That is, if this Kato guy was powerful, anyway—if he was a weakling, Narumi wouldn’t have the slightest clue as to who he was. Isao didn’t know whether he preferred the guy to be strong or a bumbling fool.
“Huh? Why are you being so loud so early?” Gen questioned, emerging from a pile of blankets with his handheld gaming system.
“I don’t have time for your games, Narumi, this is important.”
“Fine, fine,” he groaned. “Kato, huh? Name rings a bell. He’s smart but his strength could use some work. Why, what’s going on?”
“Nothing,” Isao snapped, way too fast to avoid suspicion by the dark and light haired man.
“Oh, really?” Gen asked, a sly smile working its way on his lips, “‘cuz I think you’re lying.”
“I’m leaving,” Isao said, walking away, but Gen spoke up once more.
“This is about y/n, isn’t it?”
Isao stopped dead in his tracks. “Don’t use our Chief of Staff’s first name. I won’t tolerate that kind of blatant disrespect.”
Gen raised his hands in surrender. “Alright, sorry. This is about L/n, isn’t it?”
Isao’s silence was all Gen needed to know his assumption was correct.
“He didn’t try asking them out, did he?” Gen wondered, his eyes wide.
“He better not have,” answered Isao, his blood pressure steadily rising. “Did he mention doing such a thing?”
“No, it was just the first thought that came to mind.” Gen was furiously slamming the buttons on his gaming console. “Now that I can see you’re clearly jealous for whatever reason, would you care to tell me why?”
Shinomiya wanted to be surprised that Gen guessed correctly, but he figured that he was being much too obvious about his interest in you that even the man who never took his eyes off the screen in front of him could see right through the lovesick director.
“I’m not talking about this with you, Narumi,” Isao grumbled. “I actually have to get back to work. Unlike someone.”
“Whatever you say, Director Jealous,” teased Gen, wearing a knowing grin. Isao so desperately wanted to chew him out for being so, well, Gen, but he had to get back to his office before you got there. Without a second glance, Isao exited the room with a slight slam of the door. Walking down the halls, he pondered Gen’s words. Was he actually… jealous? The Director General, jealous of a platoon leader who dared to speak with someone Isao was fond of, but never declared himself to be? He scoffed internally.
I’m like a child with a schoolyard crush.
He checked his watch and cursed. You’d be arriving at his office any moment and he was still pretty far from his destination. He doubled down on his speed, eventually throwing himself in his desk chair, acting as nonchalant as possible with 30 seconds to spare.
“Director General? You wanted to speak with me?” you asked, knocking on the door.
“You may enter.”
Isao tried to calm his beating heart. It was from all the fast walking, of course, not from the prospect of seeing your lovely face sat across from him.
No, not that at all.
“How may I help?” you chirped happily, taking up a spot in the chair in front of the Director’s desk.
“What did Kato want from you at lunch?” he inquired, not wasting another moment to get to the bottom of this. The real question was, how would Isao react if Gen’s first thought was right—if Kato tried asking you on a date? He felt murderous intent slowly creep up inside him and he tried to shove it down while he waited for your answer.
“Oh, that! He had a fantastic idea regarding evacuation routes,” you answered. “I told him to prepare a proposal and we’d look it over when he was finished. Nice man. Very intelligent.”
“I’m sure he is,” Isao said, clasping his hands and resting them near the bridge of his nose. “He didn’t… ask anything personal, correct?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
You looked very confused. That was a good thing, meaning Kato hadn’t approached you with romantic intentions, but Isao didn’t know how he’d explain such an odd question. Was now the right time to tell you the truth?
“L/n, listen. I…” He stopped. You were looking at him with such kind eyes that he didn’t how to form a sentence. It had been many years since he fell for somebody, and now that a person has finally stolen his heart once more, he couldn’t remember how to act accordingly.
“I didn’t like how he encroached on your free time with talk of business,” he said, a half truth coming from his mouth.
“I promise he didn’t bother me, Director. I took lunch early anyway. He probably tried to find me in my office first.”
“No he didn’t,” Isao mumbled, but you caught what he said.
“How do you know?”
Uh oh.
“I know because… I was looking for you at that same time,” he admitted, trying desperately to suppress the blush that threatened to overtake his cheeks. He was a grown man, for heaven’s sakes, he shouldn’t become a bumbling mess when talking to a person he found attractive.
“Oh? You must really enjoy talking to me, then, if you were searching me out prior to my impromptu meeting with Kato,” you gently joked.
“I do enjoy spending my time with you, yes.”
You didn’t falter. “Well, I’m pretty fond of you as well, Shinomiya.”
“I didn’t like how friendly Kato was with you,” he finally blurted out, the silly confession making him wish he was anywhere but within those four walls of his office.
“Am I wrong to assume that you’d wish that was you taking my up time at lunch instead of him?”
Isao’s eyes widened slightly in shock. “How did you…?”
“I had a hunch, that’s all,” you said, wearing a coy smile. “Shall we discuss your jealous tendencies over a coffee sometime? Maybe, say, 11:30 tomorrow morning?”
Isao was never the type to be taken aback so easily, but it felt like his world was being flipped completely upside down right now. It was like being on a rollercoaster, but he didn’t think he ever wanted to get off the ride—not if you were there next to him.
“I’d like that, L/n,” he answered, his softened eyes betraying his normal stone-like expression.
“Good, I’m looking forward to it. If you’ll excuse me, I have to text Narumi a thank you.”
Isao resisted the urge to growl out profanities. He was gonna kill that meddling kid!

heatwaves ; inazuman style, arataki itto 𓆝
synopsis from the marine lover -> inazuma’s summer heat paired with a favor you’re doing for your boss, whatever could go wrong?
@lovely-josuke, this one’s for you hehe
phylum echinodermata -> genshin impact - inazuma
characters -> itto x reader, yoimiya and shinobu + the arataki gang appear throughout the story
word count -> 4.1k
content -> two parter; fluff - female reader
water levels -> all safe, no warnings — mentions of medicine
summertime in inazuma is beautiful, they say. by they, you’d be referring to the tourists.
“yeah right,” you mumbled, blinking away the sweat drop threatening to fall into your eye.
summertime in inazuma was beautiful, only when the summer festival was being held. besides that, it was just stupidly hot. you swore your archon must’ve done something to offend the pyro archon of natlan, because it was absurd how much the temperature increased in the summer. this was by far one of the worst heat waves inazuma has gotten this year. the only hope you got out of this was the summer festival coming up in a few weeks. naganohara fireworks are truly a sight to see. it's no surprise why you can quickly agree with tourists that summer is beautiful in inazuma. you never failed to be mesmerized by the beautiful fireworks exploding in the air. speaking of fireworks you haven’t had a chance to—
“heyy y/n! that’s you right?” yoimiya exclaims, running towards you, popping your bubble of thought.
yoimiya, nice to see you, was just thinking about you,” you smiled at the blonde, the lingering smell of gunpowder circling around her.
“so it is you! it’s great to see you! man, i wish i would’ve seen you sooner. i was testing out a couple fireworks and could’ve used a second opinion,” she said, hitting her fist against her palm.
you smiled at her, this girl’s energy really was contagious. “we’ve always got next time,” you pointed out to your friend.
“that’s right! we’ve gotta do it again sometime soon!” she jumped up. “you’ve been so busy— speaking of which, what brings you here?”
and you suddenly remembered why exactly you didn’t enjoy summer in inazuma.
“nothing special,” your smile slightly dropping. “picking up a shipment for the shop.”
the firework maker’s eyes slowly widened with realization, “wait, and you’ve gotta take it back to ritou? that’s an insane walk! and in this heat?!”
“yeah, you know how popular the stand gets in the summertime,” you sighed.
“b-but, can’t they just deliver it?” yoimiya stammered.
“no, unfortunately not. something occurred with the company and they can’t complete deliveries. but the shop really needs this shipment. miss sirona was going to come but she has to handle paperwork for the association so she asked me to come pick it up.” you sighed once again, wiping the sweat off your forehead.
the blonde smiled sympathetically towards you, “geez, i’m sorry. i would totally go with you and help but i’ve gotta help pops at the shop.”
“nah don’t worry about it, thank you though. i’m gonna get going, the heats only going to get worse if i keep stalling,” you laughed sarcastically.
she softly whined, “alright then…i’ll totally come visit later if not tomorrow!”
“i’m looking forward to it!” you waved her goodbye and started walking towards the store to get the package. now this you weren’t looking for.
finally, you reached the entrance of ritou, after what felt like forever. the walk was unimaginable, the sun’s rays were unforgiving towards you. you put the box down, taking a moment to breathe before the final stretch to your workplace. at least the supply store took some sort of pity on you and gave you a hefty discount for the inconvenience.
you picked up the box once again, “alright, almost there.” you mumbled to yourself.
you walked through the plaza and greeted others as you made your way to your workplace. ISAO was located closer towards the docks. while that did bring in more customers, you sure did wish it was closer inland right about now.
you could finally see ISAO from a distance. you were approaching the stairs to head down, mindlessly looking around and thinking about how nice it would be to be under the shade. you weren’t paying attention and suddenly, a large figure ran into you, sending both you and them onto the ground.
the impact into the ground wasn’t hard by any means, it was more of an instinct to groan in pain. you looked to the side to see small, tan colored beads scattered throughout the ground.
“this cannot be happening, great, just great!” you said irritated. you just dropped the box of supplies.
“hey, watch where you’re going!” a boisterous voice cut through your complaints.
“excuse me?” you exasperated.
“yeah, you heard me. you know i’m the one and oni, the leader of the…” he said, his words trailing off as you glared up at the perpetrator who made you fall.
“i-i mean, ahem! hi there! you, uhhh,” he stammered as he kept looking at you.
“listen here you! do you have any idea what i went through to bring this here— are you even listening?” you scolded as he watched you, mouth agape and eyes widened.
miss sirona was so going to kill you. even if it wasn’t your fault technically speaking, these were important to prepare for the next day.
you and the man stared at each other for a couple of seconds. this gave you a chance to actually observe who he was. he had slicked back white hair with red tips, and red horns adorning the top of his head. there was a cape like fabric adorning his shoulders, clad in purple, red, white and black accents. red tattoos painted on his chest and an intricate belt around his hips.
after giving it a second thought, he was pretty handsome. that little realization quickly washed away once you remembered the situation you were in. before you could continue your rant, the tall man looks at the ground panicked before taking a handful of the tan pellets and stuffing them into his mouth.
“woah are these chocolates? what a lucky day for me!” he said through a mouthful. “these are, ahem, a little funky tasting though, with uh a little bit of a weird texture, but uh, still good! still goooood!” he smiled closed-mouthed, before coughing loudly into his hand.
“yeah they taste like that because—“
“you really gotta thank me!” he said, interrupting you while stuffing his mouth with more of the tan pellets, coughing in the process, “saved you from some stale chocolates!” you swore that you could hear a wheeze in his voice, but that wasn’t your main concern at the moment.
“i’ve been trying to say that—“ you said, getting interrupted once again. however, this time it wasn’t by the man in front of you. the interruption came from a group of 3 guys running towards you two. they were all adorned with the same symbol on top of their heads.
“BOSS! BOSS! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?” one shouted.
another followed by saying, “WHO DID THIS TO YOU?”
the final guy was going to shout as well until he stopped in his tracks, looking between you and their ‘boss’ like a deer in headlights. the other two followed suit, looking at each other and back at you two. they began whispering to each other, something along the lines of: ‘isn’t that…?’ ‘did the boss actually…’ ‘what a brave man our boss is!’
“CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME TALK?” you shouted exasperated. the three guys straightened their backs, there was a moment of silence until it was interrupted by more coughing. however this time, there was a definite wheeze in the cough.
“m-miss! how can we help you?” one of the guys spoke up.
“you idiot!” one exclaimed, smacking the other guy, “the boss and the lady are on the ground! boss clearly protected his lady against an attack!’
“you bigger idiot! boss hasn’t—“ the last one spoke.
“ENOUGH!” you shouted, “IT'S WAY TOO HOT FOR THIS!” you got up from the ground, sighing angrily. the summer weather was clearly getting to you, that and the situation you’ve been put in.
“do you guys know who he is?” you said through your teeth. “he made me drop a shipment of soybeans my store needed and for some reason decided to start eating them and calling chocolates. i don’t think you understand how much of a—“
“DID YOU SAY SOYBEANS?” one of them shouted, quickly sounding panicked.
“YES!” you shouted back, you were so done with this whole interaction, with the heat, with everything.
“the boss…” one started, “is allergic TO BEANS!” the other finished.
“what…?” your eyes widened as you heard their outburst. along with the panicked looks on their faces, these two things combined quickly wiped away your fatigue.
“soybeans?” the guy on the ground asked through a hoarse voice, you turned to him to see his face had gotten significantly swollen and red, almost enough to match his tattoos. the wheezing and coughing from earlier wasn't your imagination. before you could react, the guy fell from his sitting position to falling onto his back.
“how allergic are we talking?” you asked, voice slightly filled with panic as you quickly kneeled down to the ground.
“DEATHLY!” they all yell in unison, starting to pace around.
you feel your heart drop at the revelation on how badly the man was allergic to beans. your previous concerns were quickly washed away with the current issue at hand. it was evident how severe of an allergic reaction the man was having. you took his arm and checked the wrist for his pulse.
“it’s there, if we get help fast he’ll be—“ you turned around to speak to the guys, only to see them running away, bumping into each other and stumbling, one of them falling in the process only to quickly get up and continue running.
there was faint screaming along the lines of, “get shinobu, she’ll know what to do!” “why are you coming? stay with the boss!” “we don’t know where shinobu is exactly, three are better than, well, not three!” slowly, their voices disappeared as they ran off.
“what the hell is wrong with these people…” you pondered as you watched them run away, “no, what the hell am i doing? come on ‘boss’, i gotta get you down there,” you spoke to yourself as you slung his arm across your shoulders and began standing up. your destination became ISAO, your workplace, once again.
there wasn’t any hospitals in ritou per say, those were found in the mainland of inazuma. ISAO is definitely not a hospital, but it’s not too far from it. ISAO is a beverage stand, a quite popular one too, enough to rival Sailing Breeze. while ISAO is known for its beverages, the people of ritou consider this to be the closest to a hospital you’ll find on this island.
this is accredited to the medicinal properties found in the drinks. specific drinks made to target symptoms such as headaches, or go as far as treating more complex illnesses. on top of this, the stand sells pharmaceutical supplies, earning ISAO the nickname of ‘ritou’s hospital’. your boss, sirona feir, has medical experience from traveling across teyvat and her expertise is only increased with the help of her hydro vision. while she could be a renowned doctor across the nations, she decided to combine her love of medicine with her dream of opening a drink stand and open ISAO here in ritou.
you made it down the stairs as fast as you could and began running towards the direction of your workplace. you spotted the familiar stand and sighed thankfully, your feet moving faster towards your now visible boss.
“y/n! glad to see you back. you must be exhausted from the trip combined with the heat. once again i’m so sorry, please, come into the shade, i made you a cold drink so hurry—oh archons!” she spoke as she was mixing what you quickly assumed was a new medication, before dropping the container in shock.
“what happened to him?” she asked as she ran from behind the stand towards you, grabbing his other arm and supporting his weight on you.
“long story. but to sum it up, he's having a severe allergic reaction.”
“let’s get him into the shade. we can lay him down afterwards but it’s crucial to stop the reaction now before it gets more complicated,” she spoke, masking her worry with professionalism as you both brought him under the shade.
you sat him down as sirona rummaged through one of the drawers, looking for a medication to administer. she quickly found it and began preparing it to give it to the passed out man.
you were sitting in the backroom of ISAO on a stool next to the man laying down on the bed. miss sirona has a office in a spare storage room you guys use for patients who need to be more closely monitored.
his swelling had significantly gone down, and his breathing was more even now. miss sirona truly did have a gift with medicine, you could only hope you’d be able to help others as much as she does one day.
you looked down at the man once more, now with his face more relaxed, it gave you an opportunity to really look at his features. and you weren’t wrong earlier, he’s handsome.
“hey, y/n, quit ogling at the poor guy so much,” sirona said, leaning against the doorframe.
you turned at the sudden noise in the room, “very funny,” you said, cheeks slightly flushing.
“i’m going to head out for a second. i’m going to file a report to that company to the association, that was a safety hazard and it needs to be handled. can you handle taking care of him?” she asked.
“yeah of course, i got this.” you said as you glanced behind miss sirona, “nothing about the three guys?”
“no, i’m afraid not. i’ll stay the night here if anything.”
“miss sirona please, i’ll stay if anything. this is my fault rather than yours.”
“ooouh~ someone’s trying to make a move i see,” the medical practitioner laughed at your shocked expression.
“like i said, very. funny.” you gritted through your teeth.
“oh lighten up y/n!” she laughed as she walked up to you and gave you the follow up medication you’d have to apply in her absence.
she took one final glance at the man before smiling knowingly. with that, she turned and left the room.
you let out a deep sigh. at least the situation was under control and he’d recover. someone deathly allergic to beans…certainly wasn’t something you had heard of before, but it’s not the weirdest thing you’ve come across. the sun was slightly beginning to set, meaning the cooler night breeze was soon approaching.
it was about time to change the ointments, so you began preparing them. you turned to begin the treatment, expecting to see the man sleeping like you had seen him moments ago. except this time, you were met with red eyes staring at you widely.
you shrieked, almost dropping the bowl. thankfully, you set it next to you, “archons! you scared me, are you alright, do you need something—“
“are you an angel?”
…
“what?”
“you’re an angel aren’t you? granny told me angels are really pretty and well you’re pretty.”
“you must be out of it because of the medication,” you sighed as you grabbed the bowl of medication once more. “let me move this bandage real quick, then you should go back to sleep, you need to rest.”
“nahhh,'' he softly exclaimed, “i don't need no rest!”
you scoffed at his lighthearted attitude. a couple hours ago, it seemed like he was about to kick the bucket and now here he is, laughing about the whole situation, even if he didn’t realize exactly what was going on.
“do you even remember how you ended up here?” you asked, becoming more and more amused as he tried recalling how exactly he ended up here. his face contorted into a pensive expression, “cute,” you smiled.
“i’ve got nothin,” he said, raising his nail to scratch his forehead only to find a bandage in the way.
you moved your hand to meet his on his forehead, grabbing the corner of the bandage. “stay still, i’ve gotta change this one out too,” you said as you peeled it back, he hummed in agreement.
“whatcha doing miss angel?”
“for the last time—“ you sighed before deciding it was better to play along with the man's insisting. “well for starters, you had an allergic reaction.”
“no way, for real?” he exclaimed, his voice slowly getting louder and louder as he talked to you.
you giggled at his expression, “yeah, a pretty bad one at that too. you thought i’d be funny to eat soybeans that had fallen on the ground, going as far to call them chocolates.”
“wow, someone’s gotta be pretty dumb to do that, i wouldn’t wanna be them…” he pondered out loud. you looked at him with a deadpan expression. now was he being serious, or was he just delusional from the medicine? once again, you decided to drop it, not seeing much of a point in correcting him. instead, you found yourself laughing once again.
you hummed, “yeah i agree, it was a pretty dumb move. there were three guys there too, they left as fast as they arrived to look for someone, and then i brought you here.”
“the boys must’ve been pretty worried,” you furrowed your brows and rolled your eyes at the duality of this man, or better put the audacity. “they sure were,” you responded.
he nodded at your words and the room fell silent. you finished changing the bandages and stood up to throw away the old ones.
“you know miss angel, you look a lot like the pretty lady that works in that one stand,” he spoke, breaking the small silence between you two as you walked back towards him.
“pretty lady?” you asked.
“yeah! she’s really really pretty, and kind too! well, i’ve never talked to her, i’ve been meaning too,” he mumbled the last sentence.
“what stand does she work at?” you asked, slightly intrigued.
“it’s this really cool drink stand, i see her pretty often actually, she’s…” he begins rambling on your features, and how he’s seen you help others frequently. a blush began to creep up on your face as you realized he was describing you. you were indeed the pretty lady he was referring to.
“a-and why haven’t you spoken to her?”
“well…i get scared okay! she seems so sweet, i feel like she wouldn’t like me. i don't even know her name, isn't that a little stalkerish?”
“i don’t think so, there’s no harm in wanting to get to know someone. i’m sure she’d love to get to know you, why don’t you introduce yourself?”
he scoffed as he crossed his arms, “no way! it’s gotta be a super epic introduction, it’s the least she deserves! plus you gotta take into account that i’m an oni, what if i scare her off?”
“i can assure you she would not be scared of you,” you smiled.
he raised a brow, “oh yeah? how so?”
it was tempting to just plainly say, ‘i’d know because i am her,’ but you decided against it, settling for another answer. “if she’s as kind as you say she is, why wouldn’t she treat you with the same kindness she shows to everyone else?”
“i guess, i guess you’re right…” he said, realization sinking in. “but still, it’s gotta be an epic introduction slash confession you know? between you and me, i’ve been close to executing one of the amazing plans i got but chickened out each time.”
“oh really—“
“but you’ve gotta promise it's between you and me miss angel! promise!”
“alright, alright,” your smile grew slightly bigger, “i promise.”
“phew, glad i got that off my chest, feels like a big ol’ burden was lifted off my chest,” he chuckled which soon got replaced by a yawn.
“you should get some sleep, the medicine is probably kicking in right now.”
“nahhh, i’ll be fine, sleep is for the…” he started before he began snoring, and loudly at that.
“so much for that, huh,” you smiled as the dim yellow candle light covered the eccentric man in a soft light.
his snoring was soon overshadowed by a small ding sound, followed by a woman’s voice, “excuse me, is anyone here?” you only assumed it was the bell the store had up on the front. you took a final look at the man before heading to the front.
you walked outside to see a young woman with green hair and a mask covering half of her face. her eyes slightly widened at seeing you, but she quickly composed herself.
“hi there, i’m kuki shinobu. i’m sorry to disturb you at this hour but by any chance a man named arataki itto is here?” she asked.
you smiled apologetically, “would you mind describing him? we’ve got a man back here who had an allergic reaction, but never got a name.”
“tall, white hair, wears no shirt, oni, and an allergic reaction? let me guess, to beans?” she asked as she sighed.
“unless there’s a doppelgänger, then yeah, he’s back here alright,” you said as you as opened the stand door, “follow me.”
she thanked you as you led her to the room where the now confirmed oni was peacefully snoring away. “the nerve of the boss,” she sighed as she looked over at you.
“boss? i heard three other guys calling him that earlier.”
“yeah it’s a little bit of story,” she scratched her head, “would you mind telling me what exactly happened?”
“i think we’ve got time for both,” you smiled as you pulled out a chair for her.
over a couple minutes, you learned a bit about the arataki gang and it’s members. the name was pretty misleading after hearing the shenanigans they got into that shinobu had to save them from. at the end of the day, they just were a group of friends having fun and trying to share it with others. you in exchange told her about the events that led up to your meeting with each other, choosing to leave out the small conversation you had with him.
“you know, i had a feeling i recognized you,” shinobu said as she waved her hand over the beverage you made her to cool it down, it had stress relief properties and was packed in a to-go cup, as per her request. “you’re the girl the boss keeps talking about.”
“really…?” you asked as she nodded, choosing to ignore the small blush creeping up on your cheeks.
“you know, he had this whole elaborate plan,” she said as explained the day he declared his mission. his plan sounded like the most idiotic but on brand idea that could ever occur to him. she was the first and only person to disagree with his plan, as the guys all cheered on their boss for being so ‘intelligent’. it seemed like today he was this close to going through with it, but the archons decided today wouldn’t be the day and landed him in this whole predicament. it was pretty funny now looking back on the events from earlier today.
“well, i should be off now, we’ve intruded far too much now. thank you once again.” she said as she began to hoist itto’s arm over her shoulder, the oni slightly murmmering.
“do you need help?” you asked, putting your cup down ready to help her.
“i’ll be fine, this is certainly not the first time ive had to do this, thank you though.”
“stop by again then, i’d love to talk to you more,” you offered.
“i’ll definitely pass by whenever those idiots are off doing something, it’s a nice spot to relax.”
“we’ll be waiting for you here then, on the house,” you smiled as she thanked you and headed outside. you quickly stopped her and grabbed a slip from under the counter and wrote something on it.
you handed her the paper, “give this to him when he comes to, yeah?”
“you’ve got it,” shinobu said as she took the paper in her unoccupied hand and began walking off.
a free beverage voucher was printed on the vinyl paper shinobu carried in one hand, at the bottom in handprint read, ‘for the one and oni, come by soon,’ signed with your initials, with both a heart and a smiley face next to it.
the young lady scoffed at the paper with a small smile not visible due to her mask, “the luck of this idiot.”
you watched shinobu carry itto away and thought about everything that happened today. you would’ve thought the heat would make your memory more foggy to what happened today but it was only the opposite, instead making it crystal clear.
maybe summer isn’t so bad after all.

Hi :) can could you do about Isao shinomiya pls?
Yes I absolutely can!! Thanks so much for requesting, I really hope you like this lil story I've written :) it's my first time writing for him so I'm praying I got the characterization down lol <3
Dreaming of the Director
Fluff
Isao Shinomiya x gn!reader
You feel disheartened when Director General Shinomiya tells you you're not doing well enough in training. Little did you know that the reason behind his harshness wasn't stemming from hatred...
Warnings: mention of hospital settings/medical tests/IVs (nothing graphic)
"You were sloppy; the wide steps you took were horrendous. Practice those moves again."
You didn't think your body could take anymore. You had been training under the guidance of Director General Shinomiya for many months now and today was no different than any of the other days you'd learned from him. Your routine consisted of spending every waking hour in the gym, doing cardio outside, or practicing fighting techniques and to say you were exhausted would be a complete understatement. You didn't want to give in to the fatigue as you knew it was an honor to be by his side in this capacity, but you were practically running on empty at this point.
"Director," you panted, sweat rolling down your back, "all due respect but I don't know how much more I have in me."
His face remained unchanged from its usual stone cold expression. "No excuses, Captain. Do it again."
And so you did.
Some (okay, most) days it felt like Shinomiya hated you. You tried to convince yourself that if he did, he wouldn't have kept giving you, a Defense Force captain, chance after chance to do better the next day, but your fears of never being good enough for him stayed at the forefront of your mind. You bent your knees and got back into position, ready to try the drill again. It felt like Shinomiya's icy glare was burning holes in your back as you bounced around, evading attacks from imaginary foe. When you were finished, you were afraid to meet his eyes, nervous to hear his feedback.
"L/n, are you even listening to any of the criticism I give you? You're leaving yourself vulnerable to the enemy with every punch you throw. Run it again."
You wanted to cry. Your muscles were on fire and you were so sluggish that it felt like your blood turned to cement in your veins. Still, you pushed on. You couldn't disappoint Isao.
"Yes, sir," you whispered, taking up stance once more. This time, you knew exactly where you went wrong all the times you practiced this prior. You readjusted your stance midway through the next move, but you realized you messed up again. Feeling your foot slip from beneath you, you tumbled to the ground, whacking your head on the hard floor. Dazed and enervated, you closed your eyes, savoring the cooling effect the floor had on your body.
"Get up, L/n," barked the director, but for once in your life, you ignored his order. It wouldn't hurt to rest for a second longer...
You felt strong hands grip your shoulders, your spent body shaking like a rag doll as you were pulled away from the oasis you created in your mind.
"L/n. Hey. Wake up."
You then registered the feeling of someone lightly slapping your face and your eyes fluttered open. Shinomiya was crouched over you, his bearded face just inches away from your own. His expression was mostly the same as always except this time, there was a new emotion present that you detected in his yellow eyes, if only for a moment--concern.
"You passed out. I'm taking you to the medic."
He was straight to the point as per usual. You really didn't want to inconvenience him or have him look down on you more than he probably already did, so you tried to convince him your condition was stable.
"No, sir, I promise I'm alright. That was a long enough break, I can go again."
His voice was stern. "You're going to the medic and that's an order. I'll write you up if you disobey."
You gulped, nodding in compliance. Isao swiftly lifted you off the ground, allowing you to lean on him as he walked you to the med bay. You didn't know if it was because of your tired physical and mental state or what, but having Shinomiya so close to you was making your heart skip a few beats; the tight, almost protective, hold he had on you certainly wasn't helping you breathe any easier either. You'd thought he was handsome since the day you laid eyes on him, but it was just a simple crush. He was so unattainable for you, being both the Director General and totally emotionally cut off from everybody and everything after the death of his wife all those years ago. You ignored the aching feeling of your heart in favor of focusing on the more favorable aching of the rest of your body. When you finally made it to the medical building, all the doctors rushed over at the sight of Isao, anxious to help the most important man in the Defense Force.
"You," Shinomiya said, pointing to the first doctor that had shown up, "give L/n a once-over, please. They were training too hard and passed out."
"Right away, sir."
You were immediately ushered to a big room with a comfy bed, all perks of being accompanied by the Director General. As tests were being run on you, you valiantly fought the urge to fall asleep on the bed whose cozy sheets were calling your name. Shinomiya said nothing the whole time, his gaze fixated out the window as he looked deep in thought. Finally, the doctor came back in with your results.
"You're just really dehydrated," she explained, reading the chart on her clipboard. "We'll start an IV for ya and you'll be good to go in no time. Sound alright?"
You nodded in agreement and she got to work. When your IV was pumping much needed fluids into your body, you laughed joylessly.
"All this was caused because I didn't drink enough water? I really can't do anything right, can I?" You slapped a hand across your face in despair.
"Don't speak like that," scolded Shinomiya, "you do things right most of the time. You're much more useful than you give yourself credit for."
You tried not to let your jaw hang open in shock. That had to have been the nicest thing he'd ever said to you!
"Thank you, Director," you breathed out, still not believing your ears. Shinomiya grunted in response, his attention turned back to whatever was happing outside your window. You craned your neck to see what he was looking at, wondering what outside could possibly pique the man's interest so much.
"If I do most things right," you spoke up after some time, "then how come I can't nail your training? There's gotta be a reason I'm never good enough for you."
You didn't mean to tack on that last sentence out loud but you were curious about why your training never landed you praise, even when you did well. You could tell Shinomiya was trying to choose his next words carefully.
"I think you're a very smart, powerful captain with a promising future within the Defense Force. I have to push you beyond your limit so when you’re sent out to neutralize kaiju you don’t…” He was hesitant, more so than you’d ever seen before. “So you don’t die. It’s our duty to lay our lives on the line for the betterment of society and as you know, I’ve lost many people close to me because of that.”
He sucked in a breath. “I refuse to lose you too, y/n.”
You were absolutely shocked for the second time in a few minutes. Shinomiya used your first name while basically telling you he cared for you. You were wondering if you were hallucinating all of this but the warm, comforting hand on your shoulder proved to you the situation you were in was all too real.
“Get some rest. I’m giving you tomorrow off but I’ll see you at 5am sharp the next day.”
He removed his hand and vacated the room, but not before you spotted something strange blossoming on his face.
The tiniest curl of his lips, indicating a smile.
You wore your own smile as well as you ruminated on Shinomiya’s admission. He would most likely never state his true feelings for you outright, but this was a very pleasant start and would serve as motivation for you to work even harder in your training. You absentmindedly stared out the window when something in the distance caught your eye. It must’ve been what the Director was looking at as well since it was a beautiful sight. Most of the military base you were on was made from concrete, but in one of the cracks grew the most glorious flowers. The blooms were a brilliant shade of yellow that reminded you of the hair color of Isao’s daughter, Kikoru. It was then you realized there were three flowers, two smaller and one big, and the large one loomed over the others as if it were guarding them, shielding them the best it could without stunting their growth. The world was full of metaphors and you chose to believe this one represented Isao watching over you and Kikoru. Your head fell back on your pillow, ready for much needed sleep, and the image of Isao smiling led you into many pleasant dreams.
