ooh just gonna do a rapidfire rundown in no particular order other than the one in my head. and also staying away from romantic bc i like to stay silly:

Nyx:

Liara is her best-est friend and tbh it was actually a bit of a slowburn bc I don't think they entirely got along at first but they eventually became each other's most trusted confidant

also anderson ;-; the closest family figure she ever really knew ;-;

Artemis:

APOLLO SCOTT!! HER BROTHER!!! ugh in my mind he's the one who was like more diligent in training and school, but it just came to artemis easier and there was always this like unspoken tension but they just loved each other so much that it never fully divided them

peebee is her bestie

Celeste:

Alistair becomes like a baby brother figure to her, which does mean she pushes him to take more responsibility and step up, but she cares greatly for him

Avis:

What are your OC’s views on parenthood? Do any of them have kids or decide never to have them? How are they as parents?

Oooh great question, great question.

i don't have thoughts on this for everyone, BUT for the ones I do, I have THOUGHTS

Nyx and Celeste both do not want kids and have firmly decided that by adulthood. Nyx takes on a sort of big sister/cool aunt role to a few wayward teens and helps them get their life back on track. I've flirted with the idea of Celeste and Zevran picking up an orphaned child later on in life, but not sold on it.

Isadora came from a big family and her fondest memories before being sent to the Circle are of her siblings. So she knew she wanted a big family and Cullen also wanted a big family, so they have five kids (two boys, three girls). She dotes on them and embarrasses them and tells them marvelous stories. She and Cullen kinda take an equal role in being the disciplinarian but I do think they're ultimately very gentle with their kids.

Delvyre is super indulgent as a parent and both she and Gale spoil their kids but at the same time they have super high standards for them, especially academically. They're the kind of parents who raise kids who have a favorite opera and opinions on modern art by age 10. They have three kids (two girls, one boy), all planned, which come like almost a decade after they get married.

Avis has always wanted kids and a family, but life did not seem to want her to. And she'd accepted that till... surprise! After returning to Anders after Adamant, she found out she was pregnant. This was a shock for both of them and they honestly considered not keeping the baby, but ultimately decided to (and baby ended up being babies). They have the hardest time being parents, both because of what they've personally been through and also because of the circumstances, but Hawke kids are tough. Avis is a very playful and relaxed parent, but she always pushes her kids to do the right thing and nurtures their curiosity. She's the type of parent where if she gets a teacher call about her kid swearing in class she'll be like "what the fuck, kiddo? we talked about this."

I know Artemis and Liam have twins. I'd have to think more on Vanya. And I don't really have defined thoughts for anyone else just yet!

Which of your OC’s went through the most changes when being created? (such as going from dainty and blonde to muscular and dark haired - or like from shy and nice to blunt and mean)

Also for their storyline who do you consider went through the most character development? Also, who’s character developments (even just a mini arc) for your OCs did you personally enjoy the most?

oooooooooooooooooooo -- ok so fun fact is that Delvyre actually started from a VERY short lived D&D campaign that only lasted like 1.5 sessions, and in that one she physically looked completely different. I kinda split that Delvyre into Nitara (one of my current D&D characters) physically and the current iteration of Delvyre for her name and personality

Also! I almost made Celeste like 5'2, but decided to make her tall. Not a huge change but I like the fact she's so statuesque so it's funny to imagine her tiny now

Isadora also was a fun situation, because my first playthrough of DAI I kinda just made a self insert, so when I decided to replay it with the idea of making an OC I molded her a little more to have her own personality -- she went from being someone very shy and softspoken to more playful (albeit still introspective and quiet)

AND lastly, my D&D character Araiya started out as the "lets play knights in the backyard" character my cousin and i played when we were like 10, so yeah she's gone through a lot of changes

AS FOR CHARACTER ARCS -- Probably Isadora tbqh! she goes from someone who has low self worth from how her family rejected her and keeps her head down to someone who embraces who she is and tries to make a difference

Avis also I really love bc she goes from someone whose first priority is her family above all, to that definition of family expanding till it's basically the entirety of Kirkwall/people who can't fight for themselves

vanya's sexual self discovery arc tied with delvyre realizing that she's not too much for people who really care about her <3

Camille is probably the one I personally think is the hottest, followed very closely by Delvyre............... i'd say isadora too but she is also the one who is most closely a physical self insert and i dont wanna be THAT vain sksksk

as fair as pairings go, i think they're all hot but the ones who have the freakiest (compliment) sex are Avis and Anders, Isadora and Cullen, and Delvyre and.... well everyone really <3 <3

i dont mention it a lot but i do think isadora, artemis, and delvyre all casually hook up with multiple people in their respective in-game parties/npcs before they DTR with their partners (though depending on the partner, that also means some threesomes etc <3), and avis and isabela had a purely casual thing going on for a few years

i'd say camille and reese have hot sex but lbr it's gonna take reese a bit to get to that level <3 the same goes with zevran and celeste but she's the one who needs to build some confidence in the bedroom

Shiva hasn't tried a lot of food. She was basically raised to be a living weapon and thus it was never a priority to get her to try anything more than typical dwarven fair. Varric is the one who is usually make her try food.

Jacobi grew up friends in the tower with Anders, Karl, Jowan, and Michai Surana. He was kind of the Mom friend of the group, doting on each of them, but he was never as close with Anders or Karl as they were with each other (though, he knew they were far more than friends) nor Michai and Jowan who were inseparable since Michai came to Kinloch.

Alistair is the first real best friend he has and he'd do anything for him. They are so joined at the hip that Zevran has jokingly called Alistair his bonus husband.

👗 for a fashion headcanon

Isa. Doesn't. Wear. Dresses. She got married in white wedding armor. Isa is 7 feet tall and most dresses look positively goofy on her. It's not until after the events of DAI, when she meets Vivienne, who is the Divine (and boy do they get off on the wrong foot) does she find someone who manages to get her a dress that she looks good in-- one that resembles pre-Orlais Ferelden fashion.

Asaara is a dedicated worker. If there is a job to be done, he will do it quickly, efficiently, and exceptionally. He feels like he needs to do this in order to prove himself since most would see him as just another dumb Qunari while Qunari see him as a dangerous and violent Tal-Vashoth sarebaas, even when many of those Qunari are Tal-Vashoth themselves.

Wardens

Isadora Cousland - 7ft. Tall Warden-Queen. Alistair romance. Relies heavily on intimidation, especially with people she doesn't like, but is overall a good person. Once broke Thomas Howe's nose for calling her "Her father's half-qun bastard"-- proceeded to become fascinated with the Qunari and solidified her becoming a warrior. Tends to rush into things without a plan. Radically pro-elf and pro-mage. I made up a whole religion based on what we know of Avaar's religion and some irl Celtic inspired mythos for her bc I couldn't see her being fully agnostic but she can't stand the Chantry. Oghren taught her how to be a berserker. Sten and her are platonic kadans. Her favorite color is dark blue!

Michai Surana- As feral as Isadora, but keeps it more or less contained-- very good at The Game and knowing when to speak to his advantage. Incredibly intelligent and gets frustrated if he's outsmarted. Did call Cailin a shem to his face though. Alistair romance (he was my first bi mod) and helps his dear King in court. I have a whole tragic backstory about his first romantic relationship with Cullen that ended in tragedy (bc of the Kinloch stuff). In response, he decided to become everything Cullen would hate-- he outsmarts the desire demon and becomes a blood mage and then studies as an arcane warrior. Extremely close with Anders. Kieran is his son and he and Morrigan are actually very good friends who judge people together. His favorite color is goldenrod.

Jacobi Amell - Extremely shy and soft spoken spirit healer. Considers himself Wynne's apprentice. Immensely kind and empathic, cries easily when something is emotionally moving. Alistair and him are platonic soul mates. They are every bro meme. They are ride or die. Zevran marries Jacobi and basically gets Alistair as an eternal third wheel. Keeps Alistair a Warden and chooses to trust Anora. His favorite color is purple.

Hawkes

Garrett Hawke - Is Garrett really an OC? I feel like the standard purple mage Hawke is kind of his own character but he is a Fenris-mancer Force mage. Carver becomes a Grey Warden (and Isadora's right hand man!) and, while he sends Anders away, he spares him. Grows to regret that as Anders was part of his found family. His favorite color is also purple, based on his personality!

Ash Hawke - Oh Ash. Ash is non-binary mage who is starts purple but has an easy to switch to red temper. They are a force mage mainly. They were super close with Carver growing up and is fiercely protective of him. After they encounter Corypheous, they decide to leave Carver behind when they go to the Deeproads. Rivals Aveline as they blame her for Carver signing up with the Templars bc of her actions that barred him from the guard. Romances Fenris at first, but doesn't wait for him as they're not that kind of person. Ends up romancing Anders and approves of the Chantry explosion. Later, Fenhanders gets together around Post-Inquistion Era. Their favorite color is red.

Aurora Hawke - So. I tend to favor purple mage Hawke and Aurora is no different. Aurora is very good at pretending to be a proper lady like Leandra wants, but she's extremely raunchy and loud with her friends. Somehow, Sebastian falls for this-- though, they are a rivalmance that gets broken when Aurora spares Anders. Another Templar Carver timeline and you can see this and her featured in my fic Winter Rains if you like Canders. She does get left in the Fade. Her favorite color is a fiery orange.

Aingheal Hawke - I'm including her bc while she's less fleshed out, she's my warrior Hawke. Fiercely protective of her sister Bethany who ends up in the circle as well as her wife Merrill. While she sides with the mages, she kills Anders in an effort to keep them safe which... like none of my other Hawkes do. Her favorite color is black.

Inquisitors

Shiva Cadash - From hardened killer to long suffering mom friend. Dwarf dual-wielding rogue. Shiva was trained to be an assassin from birth and doesn't know how to really relate to people at first. Varric especially helps her learn to be a person. She grows close with Cole, Dorian, Varric, and Bull but Vivienne becomes like a sister to her, with Vivienne buying Shiva her first dress something she never had before. Vivienne does end up becoming Divine. At first she has a strange relationship with Solas who isn't interested in her that way and eventually she pulls away as she catches on to his "even though you're a dwarf" attitude towards her. To both her surprise and his, she and Blackwall fall in love. Her favorite color is emerald green.

Asaara Adaar - Asaara lies about his origin, honestly. While he is Tal-Voshoth, his Tamarassan discovered he was a sarebaas at a very young age. She steals him and another imekari who was always protective of him away and names them Asaara and Arug (Arug is actually my friend's Inquisitor!). She marries another Tal-Voshoth who becomes their father. Is smart and hates being considered stupid and will verbally rip people a new one. Everything about Asaara's story tends to be about first impressions vs reality. On principle, he likes Solas and despises Cullen when they first meet. Iron Bull and him don't exactly get along at first. Dorian and him get off on a rocky start being a Qunari and a Tevinter. So on and so forth. But as he gets to know everyone and see their true colors, his opinions change and he even falls in love with Dorian. His favorite colors are turquoise and mauve.

Isadora is in a relationship with Alistair! They met as you would expect when Duncan told Isadora to go find him at Ostagar. The rest was history...

15. What was something their parents taught them?

Endrin taught Tyr how to swordfight when he was very young, starting him on wooden swords. Tyr was a very dedicated student mainly because he wanted to spend time with his father who would regale Tyr with stories of his mother when he was in a good mood.

25. What is their biggest flaw?

Yeah, Michai Surana legit overestimates himself. Most of the time it pans out because he is very smart, but there are a number of people who he would underestimate that could outsmart him because of that. His got a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

39. What does their happily ever after look like?

For this one, I'll do Aingheal because she's very goal-oriented. My other Hawkes are more or less happy to live day to day, that's their happily ever after. Aingheal would like to see Bethany freed from the Circle, Merrill (her wife) safe and out of the eye of anyone who might suspect she's a blood mage, and what remains of her family alive and well perhaps with a secluded house somewhere where she can rest on her laurels as she pleases. The safety, though, is really the key.

52. What is their body type? Are they muscular, chubby, skinny, etc?

For a rogue, Shiva Cadash is pretty short, stocky and muscular. She's a strong climber, can wrestle fairly well if she's disarmed of her knives, and can lift things that she really has no business being able to lift. Her muscles aren't well defined, though as she doesn't put effort into toning.

63. What is always guaranteed to make them smile?

Asaara has a brother named Arug-- a himbo warrior who is actually my friend's Inquisitor (we have different timelines where each one becomes Inquisitor). Arug is not always the brightest, but his protectiveness of his sarebaas little brother always makes Asaara happy. Usually that or Arug doing something silly will make him smile.

74. What weather is their favorite? Do they like storms?

Lady and Guin are actually sisters, so I'll do them both!

Lady loves fall weather, she likes a good cool breeze and the pretty colors. And, yes, she does love storms. Even if there's thunder and lighting, she finds them calming.

Guin loves hot weather. She likes to swim and enjoys the heat on her skin. She doesn't like storms when they're happening, but she likes the smell of the world after it rains. However, when she was little, she liked jumping in puddles when it rained.

89. What is their D&D alignment?

This one is easy so I'll do them both.

Icarus is definitely neutral good-- he doesn't always think the laws are right but isn't about to open the cages in a zoo. He's very dedicated to doing the right thing, though.

Berryl is chaotic neutral. She leans chaotic good, but she'll usually default to neutral if someone is pissing her off and/or she wants to fuck with them. She operates on her terms and her terms alone.

Dragon Age Questions 4, 5, and 6!

4. What was your first Warden (gender/class/race/personality)?

Serena Amell! Female/Mage/Human/Nuetral Good. She's basically my self-insert and I never actually finished her playthrough because her save got deleted when I switched laptops. (Alistair Romance)

5. What was your first Hawke like (gender/class/temperament)?

Garret Hawke, male/mage/purple! I really wanted to play default Hawke my first go around since I think Garrett and Marian are kind of unique characters. I still haven't finished his playthrough either whoops. (Fenris Romance)

6. First Inquisitor (gender/class/race/personality)?

Shiva Cadash! Female/Rogue/Dwarf/Serious but becomes a mother hen! I basically dared myself to pick a class that wasn't mage lol (this was when I made Warden Isadora Cousland as well as my "canon" timeline goes Isadora -> Garret -> Shiva.) She starts as a hardened assassin but her companions "soften" her into a long suffering mom friend. (Blackwall Romance)
