TiNY KiSS! [of appreciation] ♡ rindou haitani
gn reader works a retail job <3 so heavily based on my own experience lmao otherwise, no warnings

if you have a blank blog [no bio, no user, no header or profile pic, nothing reblogged, etc] do not interact with my content. you will be blocked.
the darkened sky greets you as you clock out, jacket slung over your shoulders and drink for the day half-empty in your hand. you blink, letting out a yawn as you venture to the car waiting for you. the backdoor opens, "[name]."
"hi, honey," you crawl into the car beside rindou, planting a kiss on his cheek. tired eyes look to the front, soft smile still painting your lips. "hi, boys. good day?"
ran turns in the drivers seat to grin your way. "all good with us, future-in-law!"
shion sniffles in the passenger seat, rubbing under his nose. he pouts your way helplessly, "gettin' sick, [name]! need your tea."
"hmph," rindou puts an arm over your shoulder, bringing you as close as the seatbelt would allow. he narrows his eyes, "you'll survive without it."
ran sneaks a glance at his brother with a teasing grin as he starts the car. the plan is simple - mucho is making dinner and, as rindou's partner, you've been invited. the tenjiku crew had always been nice to you anyways — you never minded spending time with them.
you stretch as you exit the car, your stuff still occupying your seat. the work shirt [technically your uniform] has been taken off, leaving you in regular clothes. you let out a small groan as your arms pop. rindou holds his hand out to you, "good?"
"tired," you send him a smile, lacing your fingers in his. you plant another kiss on his cheek, leaning into the responding one he leaves on your head. "a little hungry. ready to see everyone, too."
rindou hums against your temple, "think they like you more than me."
you grin, "maybe!"
kakucho answers the door, allowing the four of you in stiffly. he waves your way before leaving to the kitchen, mumbling a recipe to himself. mochi waves at you as he samples a piece of food, leaning away from mucho as he swats at him.
you feel eyes bleeding into you one second and then the leader is in front of you the next.
“bad day?” izana leans forward at the waist, wisteria eyes planted on you. they widen a bit, venegeful malice coloring them. “want me to have a talk with anyone?”
“no,” you grin at the threat. with a small, delicate hold to his hand, you squeeze it before dropping it. “i appreciate the thought, though.”
izana watches you for a second more before nodding. he lifts his nose into the air, "just say the word."
"i'll keep that in mind!" your grin doesn't fade as you spot the newest addition, kokonoi, keeping to himself. you wander up to him with your boyfriend in tow. "hi, koko. doing okay?"
the boy nods, face controlled and centered into a dull expression. "doing well." his gaze flickers to rindou before coming back to you. "that looked scary though. boss threaten you or something?"
"never," you snort. you lean in to stage whisper — the right side of rindou's mouth quirks up at the comical view. "he likes me too much. they all do."
kokonoi only smiles for a brief second, but you see that as a win.
——♡——
you plop onto the couch beside rindou as you're finally back home. your stomach is full and sore from the amount of laughter you shared with your friends. you let out a sigh and pat your stomach as rindou sits next to you. he tugs at your knees, pulling your legs up so that they're slung over his own.
you flex your ankle, wiggling your foot from side to side. you tilt your head, “think my compression socks are sexy?”
“super hot, babe,” rindou plants a kiss to your head. he taps your knee a few times before sighing. "don't wanna get up now."
nodding slowly, you purse your lips, "same."
rindou clicks his tongue a few times before speaking. "shower time — you wash my hair and i'll rub your back?"
"…deal."

why i found the conclusion of this trilogy quite disappointing: a rant
this is of course just my personal opinion, if you enjoyed it i’m glad for you
spoilers below
i wrote "conclusion" and not "fear street 1666" because i actually really enjoyed the 1666 stuff, my problems lies with the fear street 1994 part 2 only. I enjoyed 1666 because it was engaging and scary, i enjoyed the main characters, so let's talk about them. Sarah was great, the bit where she was "they think i'm a witch so i'll be one" was so good, i was on board because i could understand her motivation. She wasn't free to be with the woman she loved, she was accused of witchcraft for it, lost her brother, her father too if you think about it, she was about to be hanged with her lover, tbh a pact with the devil for some good old well deserved venegance sounds good Now let's talk about the other main Solomon, a psycho for sure, but it actually made sense (lack of better words i'm sorry english is not my first language). What I mean is, he lost his wife and child, the woman he loves doesn't, i guess those are "good" reasons as to why he lost his marbles to think that making a pact with the devil was the right idea. Also he choose as the first victim the pastor? You mean a symbol of God who he probably tought had failed him, ence why he went and offered himself to the devil, maybe it was casual idk but it felt symbolic and deep. He made a good villain, he got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
But what we end up having in 1994 is just so lame? Nick Goode's motivations are so meh? He sacrifices people because  so he can be sheriff and his brother mayor, oh wow cool I know Sunnyvale ended up being this perfect place because of the curse, and the city, and the Goode's family prospered because of it, but it doesn't change the fact that the main villain is doing all of this so he could be sheriff? It's oversymplifying it, i know, but that's basically it, and it's boring Nick started being part of the curse in 1978, and he was quite obviously conflicted by it, what happened then? He suddenly started being okay with all the killings because he grew up? Uh... ok... Also why did he leave that note to Ziggy? They didn't speak for 16 years and he informs her about the curse happening again for what reason? Why Ziggy had alarms all over her house? I guess we will never know. Also about Ziggy, a rand in the rant: it was so damn stupid how they had her hesitate to help when shit was starting to go really bad, i don’t care that she ended up shooting Ruby and saving Josh but  i refuse to believe Ziggy Berman would suddenly stop figthing to end the curse and kill the man who she just learned was literally the reason why her life was miserable, the reason why her sister died, the one who had just tried to kill her???? Make it make sense. Honestly had they kept Nick like he was in 1987, conflicted but "having to do it anyway" it would have been so much better? Idk in 300 years no one in the Goode family thought about not killing people? What would have happened if one of the Goode's decided that he didn't want to do it? Would the curse revolt against the family? I just think there were so many way to explore this curse and how it worked but they ended up giving us the most basic, boring outcome ever. The whole Sarah Fier's legend going around the two towns was so much better then what we got??
To end on a good note i'll mention some of my favorite scenes from the movie, aka the ones that had me crying: when they found the children, it was chilling really (couldn't they let my berman's sisters be happy for once?) also Solomon being so scared seeing the consequences of what he did, so good? And ofc the hanging scene, honestly it was terrible in good way (or good in a terrible way?), Sarah's sacrifice had me in tears, and the burying too, there where many theories as to why her body wasn’t where it was supposed to be but this was so sweet :( 1666 just was a really nice movie overall, creepy, with a nice story and interesting characters, 1994 part 2 was just flat.

Traits People in the Fandom like to give Dream that instantly turn me away from their comics.
Wow, that's a long title. Okay, did you ever just want to hear me complain? If so, you came to the right place!
Im on a little salt bregade right now with my exasperation at lack of enjoyable Dream content in this fandom so this isn't some in depth analysis post or some if you give Dream these traits, you're a bad writer and need to stop. No. This is just a: here's some character traits people commonly write Dream with that severely conflict with the character I love him for, thus making me incapable of enjoying whatever 'Dream' they're writing because to me it doesn't look like Dream at all. And also why I don't like it and why I think this happens so frequently. And because this is just my opinion, you can either agree or ignore me. (And I mean, second one is a good option lol)
Jerkish - The classic asshole Dream. The one that says 'all this bad things that happened to me? Pffttsgsf I don't want to be a better person so I'm going to be a dick to everyone else.' This is probably the most common and usually comes with a lot of the other traits I'm about to mention
Sarcastic - This ones not that bad and if it's the only one I'll usually be fine with it, but he isn't sarcastic or passive aggressive, his closest trait to this is that he's stubborn. He's not going to shoot back something to make someone upset or because he's mad at them, even Nightmare, he's going to say something that might contend with someone for the purpose of making that person think about the bad or negative thing they're doing and won't stop until the person is either rethinking their originally negative position or is growing too negative for it to be rational to keep pressing and will try something else. In one it's a good intention, and with sarcasm it's this 'I need to get back at them and I don't care if it helps the situation or makes it worse' intention. And Dream is always the former.
Violent - The Dream that's always ready to get into a fight no matter what. Talking calmly? what's that?
Unsympathetic/Insensitive - this one is super easy to slip by the radar of a lot of people, so I often get people who ask me why I don't like certain ways people write Dream and it's usually because of this. This is him not understanding or sympathizing with someone else's situation even if it differs from his own, mainly for harmless things. People not wanting to do something because they're uncomfortable and Dream being written as trying to get them to do it to the point they get upset. A negative or toxic stubbornness, so to speak. Which really sucks because Dream is one of the sweetest most sensitive character I've seen and it gets rid of all that nuance.
Egotistical - :( I really don't like this one. It's your typical, I'm better than you, (usually toward Nightmare). It makes me sad. Combine unsympathetic and egotistical together and you get the jerk Dream that hates negativity and thinks negative people are bad.
Ableist - Hear me out, this isn't the same as people saying canon Dream is ableist for like, not being friends with Ink? (Wheeze). it's the type of Dream that purposefully targets someone's mental illnesses in cruel or unfair ways, usually Nightmare.
Neglectful - The Dream that says fuck protecting positivity lmao. And I need not say more.
Cowardly - The Dream that either won't own up to the problems he caused, pretends he never caused problems, and/or won't do anything to stop problems occuring.
Underhanded - the type of Dream that won't talk shit to someone's face but will make either subtly or blatantly mean comments about them behind their back.
Stupid - The type of Dream that makes decisions that will clearly cause the suffering of a lot of people for stupid reasons and/or the type of Dream that couldn't solve a 2x2 rubix cube and relies on everyone else to solve things for him because people think lack of knowledge = stupidity in the original. Which isn't true.
Selfish - The type of Dream that makes decisions that will clearly cause the suffering of other people for selfish or self absorbed reasons.
Controlling - I see this one so much and it hurts me. It's most likely due to people trying to make his desire to do good negative in this way, but directly conflicts with the fact it does no good if he becomes a toxic asshole with it. It's the type of Dream that won't let anyone do anything he doesn't deemed 100% positivity approved and becomes a toxic, controlling, manipulative asshole. Usually with a relationship bonus. ;')
Dense - Another negative stubbornness. A Dream that can't see when something's clearly making someone upset.
Overbearing - a branch of insensitive and stupid. the 'Everything is great! Isn't everything great! You're suffering? No! Everything is great and happy, be happy! I'm ALWAYS happy' Dream. Toxic positivity.
Irritable - The Dream that gets really angry at people for some reason? Normally because they're being negative or just not taking him seriously. This contends with Dream's canon in the sense that instead of getting angry he gets more sad/upset rather than some dry anger, and only when someone is being really cruel. I never like seeing a purely angry Dream. I'd rather him break down into tears, asking quietly why someone is doing this, instead of scream insults at them. Because we all know taking your anger out on someone helps solve problems and doesn't escalate situations.
Venegeful - The Dream that won't stop until the people who have wronged him or are doing wrong are either punished or dead. What's helping people be better, am I right?
Unforgiving - The Dream that never forgives people for wrongdoings and/or actively brings up past mistakes for no good reason, or just to get back at someone, usually to Nightmare. Often used as some moral superiority complex.
Smug - whenever he's right, he'll make sure you know it.
Overlycompetitive - the sore winner that wants to challenge people all the time, that'll rub it in their face when he's better. A subcategory of smug. This isn't to say canon Dream is never competitive, its just to say he isn't a dick about it.
I think a lot of people give them these traits because they think he's not 'flawed' enough. Like, they don't see to understand that 'good' traits can be flaws, or as we've seen here, think Dream's other good traits should be made into even more flaws, which directly conflict with his core morals and motivations.
I know a lot of people just write him like this for fun, and that's fine. I like Swap Dream by song-song-a actually, I think he's cool. There are a couple of exceptions where it's set up well enough that this isn't the Dream I know that I dont get fucking whiplash while reading. I'm not saying its wrong to write him like this, I'm just saying it's not enjoyable for me.
For the most part, it turns me away from the comic, or au, or am, almost instantly. I'm not interested in reading about Dream becomes an asshole edition 600. and it wouldn't be a problem for me if almost anyone wrote him well like every other character gets the liberty of.
Like, I also hate Chibi Blueberry but at least there's a ton of good Swap content out there so I'm not here talking about Chibi Blueberry lol.
Anyways, I'll probably add more traits if I think of any, so if you're trying to write Dream close to canon, you can use this as a what not to do post I guess. Otherwise enjoy my rant xD.

Things we deserved to get from the Naruto manga and anime that we never got -
• JONIN NARUTO -
Tumblr media
We followed him around as the lovable Genin knucklehead. Now it goes without saying that him being a Jonin is just a rank and honestly doesnt mean much. Rescuing Gaara, going after Kakuzo, Mount Miyaboku were all A & S-rank missions.
But I would liked to have seen him doing missions post war in a slightly more mature yet typically knuckleheaded manner instead of the passing phrase he made tonShikamaru about being too busy doing missions for the next 6 months.
We grew up with Naruto and now that he's older and stronger we dont get to see him in action.
• A Happily Married Kakashi & Shizune-
Hatake Kakashi has led a deeply traumatic life. His mother died when he was very young, his father committed suicide when he was 6 causing him to distance himself from everyone around him. The first person he opened up to and formed a bond with died moments later protecting him, the girl he deeply cared for and probably harbored feelings for which he was too afraid to confront died at his hands as he desperately tried to protect her, a year later his sensei died protecting the village. When he became a sensei to Team 7 he felt he was on a path to finding inner peace by ensuring these children avoid his traumas but his prized pupil went rogue shattering that hope. After all this I’d hoped he would’ve finally found a happy ending.
Why Shizune? Well I considered him and Kurenai getting together and him helping raise Mirai but Shizune has always felt like the only Kunoichi in Konoha who has her shit together. She is perfectly at peace with where she is in life. She is incredibly mature and level headed as she helps run the village with Tsunade. Someone who is at peace with herself and her aspirations is the perfect anchor for a man with a whirpool of trauma brewing in him.
Alas it seems like the showrunners have no intention of a romantic arc for Kakashi and the Hatake name will die with Kakashi.
• The Uzumaki Clan
Within a span of 3 months Naruto meets 3 Uzumaki clan members. Nagato, Karin and his own mother. While speaking with Kushina he finds out about the dark fate of the Uzumaki clan. How they were blessed with unimaginably high chakra reserves and were gifted in Sealing Jutsus, longevity and how it led to them being targeted by those who feared them leading to their village being wiped out and scattered across the shinobi world.
Instead of turning the Naruto saga into the Uchiha Chronicles Id have preferred a deep dive into the Uzumaki clan. Maybe even have a Sasuke-like venegeful figure who wants Konoha to suffer because they failed to provide aid to the village they called their strong allies in their greatest hour of need.
Like Sasuke this villain would’ve witnessed his fellow clansmen cut down, unlike Sasuke however he wouldn’t have had the likes of Naruto, Itachi or Kakashi to anchor him in the light leaving room for redemption.
This could have been the one villain that was so far gone in his pain and hatred that no amount of 'talk no jutsu' could have changed his mind and would've pushed Naruto to the very brink until he finally had to choose between killing his clansman or protecting his village.
Naruto would make the ultimate sacrifice for Konoha and this would all the more set his resolve to pulling Sasuke back from the darkness or dying with him.
An Uzumaki villain gifted in Fuijutsu and the use of the Uzumaki Kekkei Genkai, the Adamantine Chains along with massive chakra reserves would be the perfect power scaled villain for Post Pain Arc Naruto.
Instead we got Uchiha chronicles where everyone did whatever the fuck they thought of doing and chakra limits were all but history. This one really disappointed me. Which brings me to my next disappointment.
• Naruto Killing a Villain
Now I know it seems like an odd hang up. Naruto? Kill? But he is so fixated on redemption. That is exactly why I wanted this to happen. The series has gone out of its way to make sure Naruto hasn’t killed a character. The worst of it was against Kakuzu. The kind of attack unleashed upon Kakuzu SHOULD by all means have killed him. Yet somehow he was left in a ‘dying state’ and Kakashi was the one who did the deed.
Naruto being forced to kill a villain as a last resort and making a choice between saving someone dear to him or tainting his hands with blood was the ultimate moral conundrum for a shinobi whose biggest goal was rescuing his best friend from the dark. It would take him back to Itachi’s words where he asked Naruto what he would if Sasuke decided to destroy the village.
Instead we saw Rasen Shuriken and Rasengan getting scaled down to a point where they always injure and opponent but not kill him. For an S-rank jutsu, Rasen Shuriken happens to be quite lenient.
• Neji beoming the head of the Hyuuga Clan
Tumblr media
This pisses me off the most. Neji was supposed to be to the Hyuuga was Naruto was to Konoha. I always expected Neji to overcome all the obstacles and get recognized by Hiashin who would then redeem himself and disband the branch system once and for all. Hiashin as a character was never redeemed. Here was a man who let his brother get executed to avoid punishment (albeit he was against it but it did happen), constantly abused his kind daughter and belittled her for being too soft and put her down to a point her personality was underdeveloped and she had deep seethed confidence issues.
Disbanding the branch system and making Neji the leader would redeem him in the eyes of the readers/ viewers and would clean up the Hyuuga clan.
Instead Neji was scrapped aside to give Naruto and Hinata a bonding moment. They had a bonding moment, it was when she almost died saving his life. Neji didn’t have to die for them to get together ffs. What a wasted potential.
• NaruSaku
Tumblr media
Now I’m not a fanatic shipper. In fact when I read and watched the original series I absolutely HATED Sakura. My hatred for her reached it’s peak during the Zabuza arc when Naruto ran at the S-rank villain, got kicked away and got up to show he went in for his forehead protector. “What do you think you’re doing Naruto? Even Sasuke-kun wasn’t a match for him.” I just wanted Naruto to turn around and tell her to stfu in that moment. As the series approached the time skip I was well and truly content with NaruHina.
Tumblr media
But Shippuden changed things. The hints towards Sakura’s changed feelings were sprinkled all over the series. One moment that stands out for me was the Clone Training arc where Sai tests her by abusing Naruto and she goes on a rage rant about how great he is. Let’s not forget that in her darkest hour, as she saw a ruined and destroyed village the only person she thought of and cried out to was Naruto. Not because she felt he could save the village (she was as shocked as Shikamaru as she found out he was facing pain alone) but because when things when bad for her the only person who she felt comfort around was indeed Naruto and that is indisputable.
Tumblr media
She goes as far as ruining her friendship with Naruto, a bond she truly cherished as it was all she had left after Sasuke abandoned the village, and confessed her feelings to manipulate him. Yes manipulative, scheming and downright a bitch of a thing to do. But it was all she could think of to make Naruto stop chasing after Sasuke. She, more than anyone wanted to see Naruto become a Hokage and realize his dreams and dying while rescuing Sasuke was a risk she couldn’t take and she decided she’d have him hate her than die. Wrong yes. But oddly noble.
Tumblr media
This combined with all the blatant attempts to establish her being like Kushina and Kushina saying she wants Naruto to find someone like her changed my mind from NaruHina. I still adore Hinata. She is a wonderful character. But organic plot progression is far more important to me than my ships being canon.
Tumblr media
A Naruto-Sakura family would’ve been incredibly entertaining and the dynamics would be perfect. We’d see a Minato-Kushina couple on screen for the next series. Which brings me to my next disappointment.
•HinaShino
I don’t know if that’s the official name for the pairing but I always felt these 2 would make a great couple. They are both people of a few words and are both incredibly intuitive and understanding individuals. Shino would accept Hinata for who she was and vice versa. Being with someone who was happy with the person they were would go miles in helping them come out of their shells.
Altho this isn’t a massive disappointment for me. I’m happy that Hinata ended up with Naruto. But like I said organic plot progression matters to me and if Naruto ended up with Sakura I’d prefer Hinata to end up with Shino.
•Hiraishin No Jutsu
Tumblr media
Sadly as the series progressed Naruto had become so OP that not letting him master his father’s improved version of Tobirama’s jutsu was a great decision. It would’ve just made him senselessly OP.
However instead of giving him all those God Tier power ups which he just gains in single training sessions I’d have preferred him working hard to master the Hirashin. Instead of sending him off to an island and treating him like a fucking idiot and asking him to survey animals I’d have preferred if Tsunade gave him an impossible task.
“You can’t fight in the battle. But I will only allow it if you can master your father’s jutsu.”
It was a period of 6 months between Danzo’s death and the start of the shinobi war. Ample time to show him training hard to learn a jutsu that for once required him to study. Hiraishin deals not just in physical acts of speed but also mastering seals.  Seeing his friends go off to fight in the war as he was left behind would have only added to his frustration and motivated him more.
Showing Naruto training hard like they showed him training for Rasen Shuriken would’ve only made us cheer all the more harder when he’d make a badass entry on the battle field as Tobi came close to killing Kakashi and a three pronged Kunai swished between the two, an orange flash appeared and Naruto kicked Tobi away.
Sadly this was swapped for Pokemon evolutions where arc after arc Naruto levels up just like that. The show’s entire premise was based on hard work and guts.
Sasuke was the genius who gained his power through natural ability. Sure he trained hard but his strength came to him with ease. Naruto had to slog. He manged to make the Rasengan after nearly 15 episodes of training and even then he had to get stabbed to be able to use it. It wasn’t until another 10 episodes that he properly used it. His training for the Rasenshuriken took an entire season to yield results and even then he didn’t learn to throw it until he trained for another 3 seasons till the Pain arc.
Post pain all this is tossed aside. He sits at the waterfall twice and beats the darkness. He sits in the room once and tames Kurama. Later Kakashi and Guy are in trouble, he has an inner dialogue with Kurama and suddenly he mastered the two man team with no prior training. Rikkodu Sennin touches him once and suddenly he’s learnt how to grow eyes, stop death and fly just like that.
The series stopped being the Naruto series we grew up with post Danzo and it saddens me.
• Naruto Sensei -
Tumblr media
And finally my last and greatest disappointment of all. Not seeing Naruto as a sensei. We’ve seen glimpses of his nurturing side in his interactions with Konohamaru but I’d have loved to have seen 40-50 episodes of him leading his own squad of genins. A perfect combination of Kakashi and Guy as he’d wow them with his brilliance and equally embarrass them in day to day interactions with his goofy tomfoolery. His genins would be in awe of him. Naruto Sensei - the hero of the war.
His students could have an arrogant son/daughter of a feudal lord who insisted he be trained by the war hero, Naruto and Kakashi had to cave in for diplomatic reasons. Naruto refuses to take anyone who doesn’t work hard to get where they are but after the bell test sees potential in the child. A child with no ninja background. His parents were farmers outside of Konoha who were very poor. His sole aim is to be a ninja so strong that he’s always assigned big missions that will help him ease his family’s financial burdens. A genin from the Inuzuka clan (or any other clan, maybe even Hanabi if the show wanted to push more Naruto-Hinata interactions) who thinks he’s better than the other 2 because of his family background but is taught humility by Naruto.
Sadly another development in Naruto’s life we were denied.
Well that’s my rant essay. I know a lot of people won’t agree with what I had to say but I wanted to get it off my best anyway. Why?
Because I wanted to dattebayo!

The Power of the DM is a terrible thing
So last night I made one of my players and friends have a break down close to the end of our session.
I’ll set the scene: The party of 6 (8 with animal companions, and 10 with NPCs), in the last session had beaten a group of 9 Cult Fanatics, sparing 1 after he’d surrendered, and found a treasure trove of gold, items, and jewelry. With the help of the two NPCs were able to figure out what most of them did. They were given intel from the surrendered Cultist that their master was down in the basement finishing some ritual. With that in mind the group spent a half hour attuning to some of the items. This would prove deadly for the group. Afterwards the group had the reformed cultist lead the bard, one of the clerics (who wanted to tag along as muscle and wanted to kill some cultist) down to the basement.
This is where the plans unraveled. The reformed cultist was attacked by the leader and the final battle began. The boss battle was a Necromancer Gnome level 14, who remained Invisible for the entire battle, and a Marilith that was tweaked a little. Over the coarse of little under an in combat minute 1 of the 2 animal companions, the rouge, 1 NPC, and both clerics were killed (3 were slaughter by the Mariltih). The Fighter tried her best to keep the heat on her as she could Rage (Barbarian multiclass) but due to a cursed Greataxe her AC wasn’t the highest as she needed two hands for this weapon, but was knocked down quickly after a save against an attempted Plane Shift from the Necromancer, and kept being knocked down so the group, bless them, poured potions into her to keep her on her feet. The Rouge ran around and tried to figure out if there was something controlling the Marilith and if so could he or someone else control it, no such luck, and did his best to keep people up on their feet. The Bard tried to push the Marilith into a hole in the middle of the room or to keep it away from everyone so they might be able to regroup, this proved fatal to the Nature Cleric as the Marilith was forced to move away from the bard...toward the Nature Cleric. The Ranger, with venegence toward this creature for killing his companion unloaded as much damage into this fiend as he could, striking the final blow on the Marilith and seeing it fall into the pit. The Gnome was still a problem as he unloaded small AoE spells on any group of 2 or more within 10ft or each other, killing the Rouge and NPC Sorcerer, and knocking the Fighter down any chance he could.
At this time the group, Fighter Half-Orc, Tiefling Bard, and Dragonborn Ranger, formed a new plan: Grab our friends and GTFO! So they did, taking ranged magic attacks from the Gnome as they left, stuffing both clerics into a Bag of Holding each and carrying the Dragonborn Rouge up a narrow set of stairs. The Fighter was targeted as she was the only living thing in range, nearly dying herself. The Bard found the other NPC, a Gnome Artificer, and with a bit of new blood were able to turn the tide on the Necromancer, using all the charges of Magic Missile Wand and a 4th level Shatter the Necromancer died. After this an Adult Black Dragon, feeling slightly shitty that people he sent here died, resurrected the Nature Cleric and Reincarnated the Rouge and Trickster Cleric.
In between the Nature Cleric dying and the end of the fight we had to take a break as my friend was barely able to speak, having a panic attack, and crying uncontrollably. I felt like crap, I didn’t want that kind of response from any of my players. Two of the other players took her outside to help her calm down. During that time I didn’t know what to think, had I made the right decision? Setting a Deadly encounter for them as the Boss Battle? They’d done very well up to that point and I started to think they could handle it. My other players, the ones still in the room, said that I was okay, to not beat myself up over it. The take away from this is try not to make a too stressful environment for your players otherwise you may have one of them shutdown and the game may end right the and there with no continue. I’ve learned that the hard way. And though I will still be making high risk/high reward encounters I’ll be a lot more mindful on the state of my players minds.
As a side note I had intended to bring them back after the battle was over, and they could decide if they wanted to come back as their birth-race or something else.

I Will Let You Down (I Will Make You Hurt)
Summary: Cassian takes the bounty on Jyn’s head - she gets what she deserves after the things she did to Krennic. But when he sees her - nothing has changed between them.
Rating: Explicit
AO3
A/N: Thank you to @rogue-stars for making amazing edits and graphics cause this was inspired by her assassins one. I’m so very happy with this. also, this is a belated birthday present to @senatorrorgana cause she deserves this hahaha. have fun.
When the bounty went out for her, Cassian wasn’t the least bit surprised. He read the listing on his phone - everyone had their own chance at her, no hires, just a hit. Jyn was reckless sometimes, but when she killed Krennic, she was meticulous, she made his death perfectly hidden as money related. Yet, there were those that knew the truth, that Krennic’s death was at the orphan he left behind through killing her parents. Cassian knew her all too well and this was going to take him everything he had. He was going to get that bounty.
Pinned up in his suit, Cassian slid his two pistols into the holsters inside his jacket, his handgun fitting into the holster on his hip. Though he was a speciality assassin with a sniper, pistols would do just fine for these circumstances. Weeks. It had been weeks since her last sighting, Cassian consulted his board to be sure. Scattered across his wall, pictures of Jyn and locations over the last three years since he last had contact with her. She had changed looks and locations numerous times, but to know your target, you really had to know where they had been. So, Cassian now had a wall full of Jyn Erso - the woman he once may have…
Tracking her was easy enough, when she would lay low, she would get antsy for about two weeks and resurface. However, it had been three weeks and Cassian was getting worried. If he was to find her, she may be dead. Taking to the streets, he wandered around, finding places she may have gone and asking about her. Some saw her the week before, others said they saw her running from some men. At least this was the spot where she’d go.
Making his way out, he kept walking, avoiding the main streets as. There was the sharp sound that Cassian knew as a silencer. It was faint, and not many people knew the sound, mainly tossed it up to a tyre bursting - never something more sinister. There was a tug in his chest that told Cassian to move, told him to forget the path that he was taking and just move to find the source of gunfire.
Moving swift to find the sound, Cassian turned the corner, seeing a woman kick off her shoes before sprinting down a long alley way, turning to look over her shoulder. It was Jyn. He saw her running down the alley, her pace eager to get out of the dark and back to her safety. Cassian chased after her, Jyn’s breathing harsh and erratic. Cassian stopped before shouting. “No more running, Erso,” he called. She stopped, her shoulders shaking as the small laugh escaped her. She seemingly knew his voice because her body relaxed, though there were small tremors running through her body still.
“You know me, Andor,” she started, turning back to Cassian. Her dress was torn from the left side, half revealing her bra and along her right side at the bottom hem, there was a jagged tear and something on her leg.  “All I’ve known is running,” she replied. The look of fear should have said it all, but as the light hit Jyn, Cassian saw what she was afraid of. There were bruises across her arms, her lip bleeding and small swelling of her right eye. Cassian stepped forward on instinct. Jyn raised her gun up, her hand shaking as the fear in her was overwhelming. “Don’t think I won’t,” her voice shook but Cassian kept moving.
He moved the gun out of the way, his hand reaching up to her face and his thumb nudging at the edge of her lip. As her bottom lip came down, she winced - the cut deeper than just a scrap and must have been somewhat painful. “What happened?” he asked, tilting her chin up to see anymore damage. Jyn rubbed her nose with the back of her hand, shrugging to his question.
“A bounty is out on me. People gotta what they have to,” she said coldly. Cassian licked his lip, the conflict of contract and conscience taking him for a spin. Slipping his jacket off and placing it over Jyn’s shoulders, tugging at his tie and guiding her - conscience won.
“Come on. I’ve got a place nearby,” he told her in a hushed voice. Rushing them both out of sight, Cassian kept his eye over his shoulder as well as guiding them both.
Taking them up to his apartment, he sat Jyn down on a stool, gathering his first aid kit together. Jyn sat and watched Cassian, the overwhelming urge to still run was still inside of her, but the odd sensation of Cassian being a home was holding her steady. He gathered up some gauze, grabbing another stool and sitting opposite Jyn. She looked frightened still, and Cassian wondered if she feared him like she did the others - she didn't. Letting Jyn wrap his jacket around her tighter, he helped aid her, clearing the dirt and blood on her body.
Cassian dabbed at her lip, letting the blood seep before applying antiseptic medicine to it. He didn't warn Jyn, and she hissed at the brutal sting. Cassian let himself back away from her briefly, giving her room.
“Sorry,” he apologised.
“It’s okay,” she shrugged, pulling on the jacket again. Cassian continued to dab at Jyn’s lip, until it stopped bleeding. As Jyn sat up, Cassian had his eyes on her, tilting his head as though he was noticing something he hadn’t before. Jyn tapped at his knee to get him to stop the look he had on her, the one that always had her blushing like she used to.
“Your hair is different from the last I saw you,” he said, tugging at his tie before it became loose and the strands fell on each side of his shoulders.
“It’s longer,” she said, tugging at the ends and shrugging. Cassian laughed in response and shook his head.
“Do you remember the last time I saw you?” he asked. Jyn tucked hair behind her ear, biting at her lip as she recalled when Cassian held her and kissed her sweetly.
“I just remember how you whispered my name against my neck,” she laughed. Cassian shook his head, pointing up to the wall.
“You were blonde,” he stood, hands in his pockets and their attentions focusing up to the wall. The pictures from three years ago were scattered across the wall. Bright blonde hair and short against her jaw.
“I cut it off once things got a bit too much,” Jyn explained.
“I know,” Cassian replied plainly.
“If we weren’t in this line of work, I’d think you’re creepy,” Jyn joked, laughing slightly. Cassian didn't.
“I missed you when you left,” he said bluntly. It was very rare for Cassian to express his feelings - his mystery always intriguing Jyn. But this - this was an open and expressive Cassian that she had never seen before. Cassian felt exposed but he stopped caring about that; only caring for the woman he had longed for.
“You shouldn’t let people know that,” Jyn spoke softly, licking at her lips before looking up at him again. He scowled at her, a resentment held for her like a flame.
“You left,” he continued.
“Things got hot, I had to leave,” Jyn shrugged.
“You didn’t say a word,” he said, tightening his hand around his folded arms.
“Like that mattered. We met on a rooftop and began fucking from that day on,” Jyn cursed at him, the memory of that night folding into both of them.
“It was more than that,” Cassian said back in return. Jyn turned away, taking in a deep breath and letting it out - both hearing the shake it left in her.
“I know,”
Cassian took in a sharp breath before asking Jyn the most important question of all. “Heard you killed Krennic,” he stated. Jyn looked up and had a look of intrigue in her eye. “How was that?”
“Therapeutic,” she replied, no feeling or sensation of gloating.
“I heard you did horrible things to him,” he said, watching Jyn walk to the window. She let the coat drop around her feet and she held herself tightly - she didn’t have the heart to face Cassian in that moment. She’d done things in her life, most of which Cassian knew, but this was all different; this was scary and new and she didn’t want to….she didn’t want him to look at her differently.
“What did you hear?” she asked.
“You cut off his fingers and made him eat them,” he replied. That was only a rumour, others saying that she threw him out a window until every bone in his body was shattered.
“Oh no,” Jyn shook her head. “I cut out his tongue first. Made sure he could never speak again,” she cursed. Cassian straightened, listening to the broken woman, who was not satisfied with her venegence. “Then I cut off his fingers and his toes and made sure every time my knife went into him, he felt the pain I went through,” she said, turning, just in time for Cassian to see the tears slip down her cheeks and for her to wipe them away like they were never there.
“Jyn. You’re better than this,” Cassian said softly.
“No, I’m not,” Jyn retorted, turning back to the window.
“Come on,” Cassian persisted, not letting Jyn shut down again. Jyn took in a deep breath before turning back to the man she once...
“When I met you, I was the same girl I am today. You were on a rooftop staking out my next assignment,” she reminded them both. Cassian was perched on the edge of the roofttop, his gun almost ready to go. Jyn tapped his leg and they both wathed as Cassian pulled the trigger and their target fell to the ground. “How many hours before we were rolling around in your sheets? You got the bounty. I got three times that,” she tried to joke. The reality of it was, they barely made it to the door of the roof before Cassian was trying to slip his hands underneath her shirt as their kiss became frantic.
“Are you okay?” he asked cautiously. Jyn nodded.
“I’m fine.”
“Jyn,” he persisted.
“I just,” she stopped herself, sniffing as she held back everything.
“I know,” Cassian reassured her.
“Show me you missed me,” she asked. Cassian hesitated, watching her take in a long breath and huff it out confidently. Taking two steps forward, Cassian slipped his arm around her back and pulled her in. Jyn focusing her attention directly to their lips, hands gliding over his cheeks and wrapping around his neck.
Jyn wrenched the tie from around his shoulders, tossing it to the ground before she tore at the buttons on his shirt and leaving it open for her hands to roam his chest. Cassian pulled her up into his hold, her thighs going around his hips as he guided them both to the small bay window’s edge. Placing Jyn up on it, Jyn reached into Cassian’s hands, her hand finding his shaft easily as the other rugged at the zipper to free him.
Their kisses were laced with moan as their hands desperately held onto everything they could. Cassian’s hand went into Jyn’s underwear, playing with the nub that was her clit. Jyn moaned, breaking their lips to gasp and grip into Cassian’s shoulder - her other hand still gracing his shaft to get him to where he needed. Cassian smirked, sinking to his knees and letting his cock rest in his hand, stroking it as he looked up at Jyn, an eager bite to her lip on her face.
Moving her underwear to the side, his mouth found her core, kissing and licking at her entrance and his free hand aiding in small efforts to have her squirming - his thumb rubbing gently against her clit. Jyn bucked her hips, the feeling of an electricity running over her entire body. Jyn caught her hand on the window, scratching at the glass as his mouth ran over her. She wanted to speak, to tell Cassian to keep going - but god, she was so lost in the way his mouth felt against her, she couldn’t form coherent thoughts.
Hooking his arm around one of her thighs, Jyn pinned her free hand to the back of his head. Cassian felt the throbbing of his cok increase as he heard Jyn whimper and beg for him. Moaning against her, Jyn arched her back, her fingers tangling in his hair to push him against her. He didn’t need encouragement, letting his tongue move in and over her, pushing her to her edge. The soft pants of her orgasm were the only indications he was getting on his efforts.
When her heel pressed against the middle of his back, her pants getting more desperate and turning into hearty moans for more. Cassian quickened his pace, moving his hand from her clit over to her other thigh, tugging her closer for him to work more. Jyn began moaning louder and louder until it became shouts of pleasure and both of her hands was either in the wood frame of the window or the glass itself.
“C...Ca...Cassian, I need you now,” she shivered in the afterglow of her orgasm. Panting wildly, she tugged Cassian up, their lips meeting and Jyn tasted herself on his lips. She moaned, her arm slung around his neck as his cock was pressed up against her - more ready than Jyn thought he would be. She wanted to feel him like she used to - he wanted to be inside her, feel how she used to, just to feel at home within her again.
Picking Jyn up into his hold, he took them to the bedroom one room away, his feet quickly taking them there as Jyn aided in stripping them both out of their clothes; first it was his shirt than shrugging out of her destroyed dress before her bra came off. When Cassian placed Jyn down on the bed, she slipped out of her underwear and watched Cassian kick off his shoes and shuffle out of his pants easily. He moved over her, capturing her lips all over again. Jyn, still pressed up on her elbows, her neck craned to remain kissing Cassian. His hand slid to the back of her neck, pulling her hair just the way she liked it. She moaned, gracing her hand over the small ridge of his back and pulling him down to her. Letting his tip slide over her entrance, Cassian soon slipped inside of her and they both moaned.
Their bodies moved in sync, their hips bucking against each other and their moans becoming louder than intended. Cassian pulled Jyn in close, his arms wrapped around her with her chest flush up against his - he loved the feel of her body in his arms and against his chest. Jyn’s legs arched up, her knees high to try and keep Cassian within her at all times. Cassian caught her knee, using it as leverage as he pushed himself into her over and over again. Cassian kissed and nibbled at her neck, Jyn purring at the sensation. Keeping their bodies together, they felt perfectly bound to each other.
The friction that held them was electric and unrestrained, their bodies acting like they had three years before. They moved their hips in circles or gave deeper strides for each sensation to last as long as possible, their bodies unable to resist each other. “Do you remember Brussels?” Jyn panted, the thought of that night edging Cassian on.
“How could I forgot,” he said, kissing along her collarbone. Jyn whimpered slightly, her hands on his back and her nails tearing into his skin.
“I want Brussels. How it was that night,” she whispered. Jyn moved her hips, trying to get as much friction as possible and Cassian responded kindly, taking hold of her as his own end was nearing. Making his pace quick and unrelenting, he gave every ounce of himself to pleasing Jyn. When her brow knotted, he knew she was feeling it all, everything he was waiting to give her. Not quite at her peak yet, but just about. “Yes! God! Yes!” she yelled, her hands clawing at his neck and back, trying to keep their bodies as close as possible for their ends.
Making his pace faster, just for his end, he gave everything to Jyn and before she could recognise her own build, her orgasm broke over her, the feeling unbelievably sweet. She was speechless, unable to make a sound besides a soft gasp. Cassian took his time before he finally came, spilling into her like he had done in Brussels. That night was the best they had ever had - and this one would be a fresh reminder of the time they had lost since then.
Both panting and exhausted, they didn’t stop - just continuing to ride out their last moments of their orgasms, feeling the way they fit in with out another, just perfectly in sync even when they felt like falling apart. Collapsing down to Jyn’s side, they stared at each other, taking in their private moment of just them. Jyn let her fingers grace over Cassian’s collarbone, the way she had done the last night they spent together in that bed in New York.
“The hardest thing I ever had to do was leave you that morning,” Jyn confessed suddenly, shocking Cassian. He hadn’t realised they both knew she was doing the same thing she had done three years ago. “I hated myself ever since and I missed you every day,” she finished, looking up at Cassian. He smiled.
“No more,” Cassian whispered back, tucking hair behind Jyn’s ear. She shut her eyes, feeling peace wash over her and Cassian watched her sigh, a relief from the pain she had been carrying around - now forgiven. Curling them both together, they slept underneath covers, feeling perfect in one another’s embrace. How it all used to be.
Cassian woke up first, pulling on tracksuit pants and making them breakfast. It took Jyn a little longer to wake up, walking in with his button up shirt on, showering her figure in cotton. Jyn walked behind him, grabbing a piece of toast and eating the edge of it as she stood beside Cassian.
“How is your lip this morning?” he asked, turning to her, making her lip pout.
“A little bruised, but I think I can survive it,” she shrugged. Cassian furrowed his brow.
“Are you sure? Doesn’t need anything for healing purposes?” he asked and Jyn chuckled, biting her lip but stopped when the pain radiated over the wound.
“Were you always this sweet?” she asked and Cassian nodded.
“Yes.”
“I’ll take that healing now, thank you,” she said, gesturing him down. Cassian wrapped his arm around her back, pulling her in. He let his lips fall to hers easily and gently, not tempting any pain to come from it. When they parted, they just smiled. Outside, however, there was a sudden shine of light that rippled through Cassian’s kitchen - no bigger than a coin’s face.
“Get down,” he told Jyn before they both collapsed to the floor and bullets started to rain down across the kitchen. Cassian, being the overzealous assassin that he was, was always prepared with anything he needed. Scattered across his kitchen alone were pieces of an easily assembled rifle and two handguns underneath cabinets.
Jyn groaned, searching underneath his sink and letting her hand run under every cabinet she could. “Where the hell are your -”
Cassian pointed as he assembled his rifle. “Underneath -”
“Got it,” she exclaimed, checking the ammo. Cassian sat patiently at the side of the cabinet, waiting for his moment when the gunfire ceased to scope out everything. It all finished and Cassian looked down his scope, seeing two individuals. “Where are they?” Jyn asked.
“One is on your ten. Twelve degrees down,” Cassian replied before the gunfire started again. The bullets were ripping the kitchen to pieces and it wouldn’t be long before the whole place would have gone up in smoke. They just needed another opening and fast.
“Can’t even give me wind direction? What kind of sniper are you?” Jyn joked and Cassian chuckled.
“Oh, shut up,” he replied just as the firing stopped. “Now,” he called it and both of them came up, firing at their respective men and both falling with the ease of one bullet. They knew that the commotion would have set off all police scanners in the area so they needed to act fast. Cassian grabbed all his weaponry as Jyn gathered together all of Cassian’s notable belongings - his passports, any identifiers of either of them. They both dressed quickly - Jyn in Cassian’s clothes, and he wearing some lazy clothes just to get by. It became so frantic, they just packed everything they could in a few bags, just by the door as there were a few scattered and scared voices nearby. They needed to leave soon, but Jyn knew she needed to ask Cassian something.
“Are you with me?” she asked frantically. Cassian stopped collecting his things before he looked up to her. He was expressionless until he smirked and nodded.
“All the way,” he confirmed and they finished getting their bags together. They rushed straight out of the apartment, making their way to his car and driving out of there before there was even the sound of police sirens. They passed several police vehicles and ambulances, ignoring them as the pair tore past the landscape around them. Running was in their blood, but they had each other, the only thing that really mattered.
*****
When the men walked onto the scene where glass had shattered and a buildings exterior painted with bullets, no one knew how to take them. They weren’t police but they scared the police off enough for people to be frightened of them. One man, clad in black, walked in the middle of the men, walking up the stairs like he was royalty and should not have been contested or talked to unless it was completely necessary. He stood in the kitchen, the worst off room in the entire apartment, torn to shreds. The men that came in with him searched the apartment but there seemed to be no trace.
That was until one of the men found a photo, stuck underneath the couch that no one would have noticed unless they had the time to do so. He cleaned it off before rushing into the kitchen to hand it over to his superior.
“Vader,” one man came and showed him a picture of a woman, her hair short and blonde, just up to her jaw. The man scurried off before another man walked into the kitchen, the same conviction in him as Vader had. Tarkin. Vader had seen the woman in the picture before, though she was younger when he knew her. She was Jyn Erso and he knew that for sure.
“Find her. She’s the key,” he said, handing the photo off to Tarkin, and pointing to the girl in the picture. “I want her dead,” Vader said in a low tone, Tarkin barely blinked before he nodded and went off with a few other men, discussing what they could do to find her. Vader walked to the opening in the buildings side, no window to speak of, just an open hole that once could have been a window.  “Jyn Erso and those assassins need to be exterminated,” he said to himself, watching as the streets beneath bussell and amongst them some of the most skilled killers to ever exist.

rairaitoningu:
The conversation had indeed changed into something that even he wasn’t expecting. Why was he telling a complete stranger this? Perhaps it was because he felt like this guy was safe, comforting to be around. But there was only one person he felt like that around, and he was gone.
Maybe he should of kept his mouth shut.
Watching the cyborg and, seeing him face him fully, his silver eyes widened and he looked like a fight was going to happen, especially with how the other’s eyes looked. Those eyes, wait….he’d seen those eyes before. Long ago, he recalled those eyes, the same shade, same hue, as his dear friend. It didn’t look like he was going to think on it for long.
“M…My apologies f-for my words, I-I mean no trouble.” He murmured, almost looking like he’d slip into a panic attack. “M-My name is S-Satoshi S-Sunaka…a…and you remind me o-of a c-childhood friend of mine!” He stuttered and was shaking, trying to speak of the name of his friend, but the words fled his tongue.
Genji sighed at himself in mind. He tried to be subtle and still pushed a little too hard on the man - he seemed really terrified now. And scaring strangers to death was far from a peaceful visiting old home or nice meals. Even if he was just being cautious, he should behave less intimidating. Good job, mister Shimada. Well done, indeed.
“Hey, hey, I didn’t mean to scare you! Sorry about that.” Genji slightly raised hands in a giving up gesture. “I’m not used to making friends anymore. Big flaw of being a cyborg ninja dude.” He chuckled warmly. Well, this wasn’t a lie.
Satoshi. This ringed another bell. Satoshi, Satoshi... They met for sure, but when and how? Wait. A childhood friend? Is that possible after all these years? Hanamura isn’t huge town but people come and go after job a lot. But with every passing second Genji recongnized more details. They truly were childhood friends, weren’t they. How could he let the memories drown in his craving for venegance for so many years? Well, he won’t get a better chance to remind how it was once, despite a voice of reason screaming in his head that he should stay dead for the world as it was easier this way.
“Hi. I’m Genji. Nice to meet you...” A smile was wide and friendly. Maybe bit excited and little mischevious when he added smoothly: “after all there years.”
