It'll probably be a long while before I write any T3 02-03 stuff because I really gotta figure out where their heads are at, but small angst idea that hit me today... Compared to all the others, they're the only two who haven't been up close/touching a dead body before. (Funerals are different because it's been long enough after death to prepare yourself and also there's no injury or blood.) Not only are they going through the emotional turmoil when the three prisoners die with varying degrees of violence, but there's the added trauma that they've never experienced this before. Plus, neither wants to look childish/squeamish/afraid in front of the others, so they have to bear it alone (or with each other, if I were to write something <3)
#milgram#yuno kashiki#fuuta kajiyama#depending on interpretations mikoto could fall here as well#i saw that art of yuno discovering mahirus body and it hit me that they didnt get that with their own victims like everyone else did#(not that one murder completely desensitizes everyone but you know - very first time must feel different)#and like... no matter how bloody the scene of the crime fuuta knows theres no way in hell he can show any weakness when 'a little girl of#all people' was the one with enough stomach to do it#oughh sorry for popping back in just for the angst 😭#im hoping to post something short and sweet for 2/3! no promises but i really want to! i miss them ;--;#analysis/thoughts

Order of Attack (part 4)
The second trial begins!
Warning: Jackalope is very callous about the prisoners' lives. Other than that, there's are descriptions of violence, injuries, and Amane's cult mindset.
Once again, I'm posting this ahead of the AO3 version, and I'll look over it again before I post there.
(Anything in the ellipses is pretty much the same as the original.)
Second trial commencement notice
Rise and shine, Es. So much within Milgram has changed since your little slumber. Allow me to enlighten you on what you missed around here. …
Prisoner No. 2: Yuno Kashiki
… With this verdict of “innocent”, she has tried to isolate herself. However, as cold as she may be, she checks on the “guilty” prisoners from time to time. Something about them must really strike a chord in her.
One fateful day, a certain Mahiru Shiina sought her out. And so, while the rest of the “innocent” prisoners were going around doing who-knows-what, Yuno was close enough to witness the attacks and call for help, keeping Mahiru away from harm while she was at it. She’s a hero. She’s not the most fond of the title and would rather stay away, but she’s not going to turn her back on a friend in need.
Frosty girls with a soft spot. I like- hey, don’t give me that glare.
Prisoner No. 3: Fuuta Kajiyama
Because he was found “guilty”, he’s lost that fire in his blood. Trapped in the never-ending darkness of his own guilt and regret, he wonders if he even deserves to live. A certain Amane Momose has been visiting him frequently, trying to help him out of this slump.
Huh, you’re surprised about how he looks? Oh, because you found Prisoner No. 10 Kotoko “innocent”, she went and attacked the guilty prisoners. Now Fuuta is broken in both body and mind. Fortunately, Shidou treated what he could, or else Fuuta would be dead. Lost.
But see if I care. It’s not like you showed him any mercy either.
Ever since the attacks, he’s gotten closer with Amane. That was bound to happen since she was the first witness. Let him lean on that kid, won’t you? What’s the worst that could happen?
...
Prisoner No. 5: Shidou Kirisaki
… He’s the one who treated Fuuta and Amane after the attacks. If not for him, they would both be dead. But they don’t seem to be particularly grateful. Their loss.
Prisoner No. 6: Mahiru Shiina
Because she was found “guilty”, she lives in a painful state of shattered norms. Looks like she’s going to have to rethink her definition of love a lot now, romantic or otherwise.
Thanks to some miraculous factors in play, she was able to avoid being attacked. But now she’s wracked with an intense survivor’s guilt. No matter how you slice it, she should’ve been attacked before Amane. Even so, she’s constantly looking over her shoulder, wondering if Kotoko will finish the job. Trapped between two turbulent states of mind. Is this what she deserves? Well, that’s for you to decide.
Prisoner No. 7: Kazui Mukuhara
… Regrettably, he arrived to late to save Fuuta and Amane from serious injuries, but he put an end to Kotoko’s attacks. Better late than never, am I right? Who knows how much more damage she could have caused if not for him?
Prisoner No. 8: Amane Momose
Because she was found “guilty”… no no, she hasn’t learned a thing, at least not in the way you intended. Especially after Kotoko’s attacks, Amane has only leaned into her faith more intensely. She’s gotten closer with Fuuta over their shared injuries. Also, she’s completely hostile to Shidou, going so far as to reject or sabotage his care at every opportunity. Something about his actions must really tick her off. That’s incredibly self-destructive of her. She knows she needs that treatment to survive, right? Well, it’s up to you to endorse her actions or not… whatever that means for you.
Prisoner No. 9: Mikoto Kayano
… He got into a real dogfight with Kotoko. In the midst of her attacks, no less. Who knows what he was up to, but you can’t deny that it was well-timed. If he wasn’t around, Amane would have sustained fatal injuries; even Shidou wouldn’t have been able to save her then.
Prisoner No. 10: Kotoko Yuzuriha
… Kotoko attacked three.
Prisoner No. 3: Fuuta Kajiyama. He’s severely injured. Bedridden. He would be dead if not for Shidou.
Prisnoer No. 8: Amane Momose. She has fewer injuries in comparison, but she would’ve been beyond saving if she sustained any more.
And lastly, Prisoner No. 9: Mikoto Kayano. They were evenly matched, and their fight was broken up by Kazui. Thanks to Mikoto’s spectacular timing, Amane was saved from further injury.
A strange order of attack, isn’t it? Well, that’s interpersonal dynamics in this prison for you.
…
And that’s all that happened within the prison thus far. It would do you well to keep in mind how the prisoners interact with each other when you make your judgments this time around. I’m counting on you, Es.
Let the second trial of Milgram begin.

Do you have any headcanon about Hope's Peak Academy's Student Council, like talents? Soshun is Ultimate Student Council President, and the others is unknown.
Personally? No, but I do like the talents @a-student-out-of-time gives them:
Aiko Umesawa: SHSL Dollmaker
Asukasei Hino: SHSL Shamisen Player
Daiki Kubo: SHSL Babysitter
Karen Kisaragi: SHSL Secretary
Kiriko Nishizawa: SHSL Hairstylist
Kotomi Ikuta: SHSL Sharpshooter
Shoji Yoko: SHSL Guitarist
Taro Kurosaki: SHSL Actor
Tsubasa Kamii: SHSL Botanist
The only ones missing from the list here are Ryota Someya, Sosuke Ichino, Suzuko Kashiki and Tomohiko Goryoku. I've only seen DR3 once, so I don't have the information/enough regular thought about the characters to have a crack at their talents myself. Nor do I really want to see that part of DR3 again, it was kinda disturbing even by Danganronpa standards.

Milgram First Trial Personal Judgements
I’m going to try and set my personal feelings aside for the characters and rule based on my personal understanding of the crimes.
Sakurai Haruka - Innocent
Something tells me that there’s more to his story. I am not entirely sure what he did, but he definitely doesn’t seem 100% lucid when he killed his victim(s).
Kashiki Yuno - Guilty
I don’t really have a theory for what she did so I’m not sure what to conclude yet. Kinda using the “guilty until proven innocent” logic for my decision right now.
Kajiyama Fuuta - Innocent
In my personal h/c he suffers from some sort of delusion and so confused reality and fiction when killing. If that is the case, then in my eyes he’s innocent but needs help.
Kusunoki Mu - Innocent
Poor girl went through a lot. She needs a friend and lots of therapy, not prison.
Kirisaki Shidou - Guilty
I feel like he was letting patients die and/or killing them simply because he grew apathetic. It’s your job, bro. Even if you don’t rly care about the person, you’re getting paid to save them, smh.
Shiina Mahiru - Innocent
I truly believe something bad happened on day 12 of her personal blog thing. Sure, maybe she was stalking the dude before, but I get the feeling that the guy took advantage of that and she acted in self defence.
Mukuhara Kazui - Guilty
I know it’s not proven yet and some people theorise against it but I feel like he was being disloyal towards his wife and I don’t approve of that or murdering his wife. Maybe it’ll turn out to be smth else but for now, guilty.
Momose Amane - Innocent
Why was she voted guilty? Mind you I have no idea what she did, but it seems like she was manipulated in some way (some people suggest it was a cult) or it could be a similar situation to what I speculated for Fuuta.
Kayano Mikoto - Guilty
Similar to Yuno, I don’t really have enough information to go off of. Sure, we do see him kill, but it seems like they’re suggesting it was because of DID and an ‘evil’ alter is the one who did the killing, but something tells me there’s something else going on. So for now, the ‘guilty until proven innocent’ ruling applies.
Yuzuriha Kotoko - Guilty?
So I get that Kotoko seemed to be acting as some sort of vigilante and saved the girl, so a case could be made that she was acting out of some ‘Good Samaritan’ logic of thinking. Equally though she seemed to enjoy killing the dude, so it’s this grey area of did she kill to protect the girl or to satisfy some secret desire to kill? I think it’s probably the former but the moral lines began to blur. Another guilty until proven innocent since I need more info.
These are all just theories and opinions. Please take what I say with a grain of salt since I could have completely missed the mark. These thoughts are purely based off of the first trial music videos. My verdicts may change as more information is revealed.

Order of Attack (part 3)
I have returned from disappearance! Wait, I have to report to work? I guess I won't be picking up the pace just yet...
So have part 3 of bad-things-happen-to-Amane! (Previous parts on AO3 here.) I'll want to revise it again before posting it on AO3.
Did I say this was 736 words? Well, now it's 846. Behold the writing juices.
This one is centered on Shidou. I spent so much time trying to figure out his priorities, Mikoto/John's state, medical care that wasn't glaringly inaccurate... Sorry if I still get something wrong.
Amane speaks a little bit.
Cw for canon-typical violence and descriptions of injuries (blood). Let me know if I'm missing a tag.
After Yuno debriefed Shidou on the situation in Fuuta’s cell, Shidou carefully pocketed a pair of scissors and rushed to his own cell. Resources first. Considering Kashiki-kun’s statement, we’re probably looking at several fractures, some likely in the ribs. There will also be a lot of blood. It’s best that I come equipped.
As he passed by Fuuta’s cell, he heard the scuffle inside, more labored than he expected—or maybe it was expected, if it had been going on as long as it took for Yuno and Mahiru to find them.
Shidou cracked open his cell door and reached in just enough to grab the medical kit right next to the door frame. This will have to do for now.
Just then, two yelps rang out in unison, followed by a “Knock it off!”, followed by some breathless swears. Shidou arrived at Fuuta’s cell just as Kotoko stormed out, and they collided. He barely paid her any mind as he entered the cell and she scrambled to her feet in a huff.
The first thing he saw as he pushed open the door was Amane curled up on the ground. Kazui was kneeling over her, folding a pillowcase with uncertainty. At the end of the room was Fuuta, unconscious and bleeding in multiple places. To the side was Mikoto, catching his breath.
“Allow me,” Shidou told Kazui as he knelt down to better assess Amane’s injuries. Several scrapes on her legs, and a few on her face. Her eyelids were barely open, but her left eye tracked Shidou’s movements with a contemptuous glare. Her right eye, bleeding heavily, did not follow suit.
“We’re going to need more hands,” Shidou told Kazui. “Can you get Kashiki-kun and Shiina-kun?”
He pulled out some wound dressings and antiseptic from the kit.
“Won’t you need help with two patients?” Kazui asked. “Or three?” He gestured towards Mikoto, who hadn’t moved since Shidou first entered the room.
“Yes. The sooner we get more hands, the smoother this will go.”
Shidou cleaned the area around Amane’s eye. She winced.
“Besides, we don’t want to risk them getting attacked by Yuzuriha-kun.”
Kazui nodded. “I’ll be quick.” Then he left the room.
Shidou realized too late that he should have asked about Haruka and Muu as well. The last anyone had heard from them, they were making crafts in the warehouse. Though he was concerned with all the attacks going on, he figured that they were outside of Kotoko’s attack pattern. He could just ask Kazui to get them once he returned.
Shidou looked over at Fuuta. Someone ought to stop the bleeding, but he was busy tending to Amane. Could he trust Mikoto? Kayano-kun has been so different lately, but… Even so, an extra hand would be indispensable right now. He wouldn’t pose a threat to the patients, would he?
“Kayano-kun? Could you lend a-”
Mikoto turned his head just enough to glare with an intensity that Shidou thought he was incapable of.
I hope the others get here soon. Shidou pressed the dressing over Amane’s eye.
“What… are…” Amane rasped.
“I’m making sure the bleeding slows down. I know it hurts, but-”
“Stop,” she said weakly yet forcefully.
“I’m afraid I cannot. You would lose too much blood.”
“It’s only a tr-” Her voice halted as if her air supply was pinched for a moment.
Shidou wrapped gauze around Amane’s head and glanced at Fuuta. How long has Kajiyama-kun been bleeding out like that? Should I have checked on him first? If only I could be in two places at once.
He wondered what was taking Kazui so long. Surely Kazui understood the gravity of the situation. Or… maybe a reasonable amount of time had passed, but the uncertainty of everything slowed time down. Shidou picked up the scissors and started at the oversized sleeves on Amane’s uniform.
After what felt like an eternity, Mikoto broke the silence.
“Where… am I?” Before Shidou could explain, Mikoto’s eyes widened and he let out a panicked gasp. “Why do I hurt all over? Why- Fuuta? Amane? Did we all just get-”
“Slow down, Kayano-kun. If you’re up to the task, I could use a lot of help.”
Mikoto paused and took a breath. “You need my help?”
“Yes. I need you to keep an eye on Amane for me.”
“Are you sure? I think she’s scared of me.”
“Am… not…” Amane responded, fury leaking from her ragged breaths.
“Just make sure she doesn’t get hurt more. I really need to check on Kajiyama-kun.”
Just as Shidou began examining Fuuta’s wounds, the cell door opened.
“Shidou-kun!” Yuno and Mahiru called out. Yuno walked over to his side, while Mahiru knelt beside Mikoto and Amane. Kazui followed in after them.
“Mukuhara-kun. Kashiki-kun. Shiina-kun. Was there a hold-up?”
“I don’t believe so,” Kazui replied. “It only took four minutes to get there and back. Is that not the typical round trip?”
Shidou sighed. It was a small relief that it wasn’t twenty minutes. For all the seconds that counted, he hadn’t lost as many as he feared.
