Is it unfair for me to think Americans are being overdramatic? It’s not like taliban took over. USA is still a free and democratic country.
I think people have the right to be upset when the political party that doesn’t believe trans people have the right to live is now in control of all branches of the federal government

i do wonder why fandom is so insistent on proving that "gale could eventually change his mind" when it comes to fatherhood.
if children are something you ideally want in your romance - that is completely valid and luckily for you, there are several romance options in the game that can provide just that. wyll, lae'zel, and halsin. even shadowheart briefly mentions that children might be a possibility for her in the future. 4 options total that either already have entire adoption subplots or are open to the idea.
meanwhile, fandom is bending over backwards, bringing up aspects of gale's arc that are completely irrelevant to the topic at hand and claiming that any statement coming from gale or any boundary he sets should forever be questioned because... "he has been known to have inferiority issues"?!
gale is a character who is very likely in his 40s. he isn't some 20-something college boy who is still trying to figure everything out. i personally never felt like there was any point in the context of gale's relationship with tav where he was unsure about his desires. quite the contrary.
gale is also very vocal about what he wants. not wasting any time in proposing to tav after the big bad had been defeated. i am pretty sure there would have been instances where gale expressed his desire to have children (whether that may mean immediate or somewhere down the line) if larian had intended to include this aspect in his romance as well.
...but instead all we have to go on when it comes to the subject of children in general are lines like these:
Tumblr media
player: gale... how would you feel about having another person in our relationship?
gale: what, like a child? i'm not quite sure i'd consider myself father material, plus our current lifestyle isn't exactly what i'd call settled...
Tumblr media
tara: this is why mrs. dekarios and i will be waiting an eternity more for grandchildren.
gale: psst! shoo, tara.
nodecontext: shooing away tara like one would a naughty cat.
Tumblr media
gale, upon spotting oliver during their game of hide and seek: ah, i have you! just a shame i don't want you.
EDIT:
adding for clarification

Anon who asked me about my most unpopular Death Note opinion please come back. My actual most unpopular opinion is I like this shirt that Light wears during his Sister Kidnapping Vacation in LA. Even in the coloured manga.

"#are they sleeping in separate rooms still or is phils closet just in another room for no reason" I mean if they both have a lot of clothes it kinda makes sense to use a closet in another room rather than trying to cram it all into one no? My own personal theory is the green room is "Phil's room" as in the room where he keeps his clothes and maybe other stuff but it's not necessarily his bedroom
but it’s the fact they they designed the house that makes me so curious!! i can understand if they just moved into a house that they’d just put things where they can fit, but having built and designed a home, IF they’re sharing a room why not have both closets in the same room? bc based off the pictures we’ve seen from this bedroom, the shelves by the desk has trinkets from the both of them
it just seems like such a hassle to design a whole house to let yourself be doomed to go to a whole other bedroom just to get changed
it’s just so interesting and they’re never gonna tell us and that drives me a little insane i fear

augustine sycamore would never divorce lysandre. augustine sycamore would keep trying to save their marriage until it was so utterly in shambles that they'd both have alienated everybody they know. augustine sycamore would tirelessly explain to their marriage counselor that they can still fix it they can still make it work and he knows this in his heart and nothing will ever change his mind.
lysandre would 100% divorce augustine for his own good though

i think a lot of my difference w/ popular ashe fanon (other than really just not finding him that compelling as a trans narrative sorry) is that i don't really think of him as like, Very Online in the twitch streamer genshin player overwatch vc type beat that i feel like i've seen a lot of? idk.it just doesn't vibe for me personally. he's a music nerd........ posters big ass speakers big ass headphones drumkit.... u know he's spending hours beating every single track in rock band. 2 me. idk. i think he spends a lot of time in like forums & researching cryptids & hero shit or on wikipedia i don't think he has a discourse twt. u know?

want to give my two cents on the AI usage in the maestro trailer--
i think seventeen doing a whole concept that is anti-AI is very cool, especially as creatives themselves i think it's good that they're speaking up against it and i hope it gets more ppl talking about the issue. i also understand on a surface level the artistic choice (whether it was made by the members, the mv director, or whoever else), to directly use AI in contrast to real, human-made visuals and music in order to criticize it. i also appreciate that they clearly stated the intention of the use of AI at the beginning of the video
however, although i understand it to an extent, i do not agree with the choice to use AI to critique AI. one of the main ethical concerns with generative AI is that it is trained on other artists' work without their knowledge, consent, or compensation. and even when AI generated images are being used to critique AI, it still does not negate this particular ethical concern
the use of AI to critique also does not negate the fact that this is work that could have been done by an actual artist. i have seen some people argue that it's okay in this context because it's a critique specifically about AI, and it is content that never would have been done by a real artist anyway because it doesn't make sense for the story they're trying to tell. but i disagree. i think you can still tell the exact same story without using AI
and in fact, i would argue that it would make the anti-AI message stronger if they HAD paid an artist to draw/animate the scenes that are supposed to represent AI generated images. wouldn't it just be proof that humans can create images that are just as bad and nonsensical and soulless as AI, but that AI can't replicate the creativity and beauty and basic fucking anatomy that's in human-made art?
it feels very obvious this was not just a way to cut corners and costs like a lot of scummy people are using AI for. ultimately it was a very intentional creative decision, i just personally think it was a very poor one. and even if some ethical considerations were taken into account before this decision, i certainly don't think all of them were. at the very least i feel like the decision undermines the message they want to convey
i would also like to recognize that i myself am not an artist, and i have seen some artists that are totally on board with the use of AI in this specific context, so clearly this is not a topic that is cut and dry. but generative AI is still new, and i think it's important to keep having these conversations
#melia.txt#also want to add that as musicians svt are more directly threatened by AI generated audio than they are by AI generated images#and yet AI generated images is what was used in the video#and i guess the MV director/production company are the ones directly responsible for putting that in there#whether it was their initial idea or not#and they work in a visual medium so perhaps that makes it more 'fair' but idk it just feels like#the commentary is around music. which makes sense. and using human produced music/sound#but then taking advantage of AI images#idk just feels weird#i mean i don't like it either way#like i said in the main post i understand the intention behind the creative decision#and i'm still happy svt are speaking against ai at all i do think overall they're doing a good thing here#i just don't agree with the creative decision they/the production company/whoever made#edit: deleted the part about not boycotting svt over this bc ppl were commenting about boycotting bc of the 🛴 stuff#i meant specifically /I/ am not calling for a boycott because of specifically the ai stuff#was just trying to make a general point that im not making this post bc i want to sabatoge svt or whatever#bc kpop fans love to pull that catd whenever u criticize anything#so yeah just removed that bit bc i dont want ppl getting confused what im talking about#respect ppl boycotting because of scooter/israel stuff but thats not what this post was intended to be about#edit 2: turning off reblogs bc im going to bed and having asomewhat controversial post up is not gonna help me sleep well lol#may or my not turn rb's back on in the morning

I’m about to say something and I want to clarify I’m not hating on hen and totally get the heat of the moment/ emotions high because the other people are probably seriously injured/dead because of that guy but the “why do the drunks always walk away unscathed” (paraphrasing probably) line is just irked me out so much
Like not even kidding but like bobby is literally a recovering alcoholic and they’re having HEN -someone who’s so close to him- say something like that, it just doesn’t sit right with me
Like we saw something similar with the drunk driver in season 4 (?) and we already know that Bobby empathises on a DEEP level and recognises that that could’ve easily been him
I think (hope) that this is intentional as this is the episode where bobby is in danger and hen is instrumental in discovering the cruise ship disaster and that they make a point to tie it all in
