watching Bakemonogatori was like this:
-beautiful shot composition
-closeup of a high schooler’s suddenly-lipglossed mouth as she says a single word
-resonant and emotionally literate conversation
-high schooler’s boobs or underwear
-rapid fire shots of typed script/summary/internal dialogue on solid-colored background
-main character beats up and gropes a middle schooler. isn’t he silly? this is normal and friendly behavior
-the world is empty except for us (the narrow lens of adolescence)
-this time it’s snakes— what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck
-SHES LIKE 12
-STOP IT
-martyr complex
-why am I relieved that we’re back to objectifying high schoolers?
-cool action sequence
-I’m serious cut that shit out

*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*.·:·.✧
It had been one week and three days since the couch incident, which is what you’ve lovingly taken to calling whatever happened between you and Mike. One week and three whole days of Mike dancing around you and the elephant in the room.
The morning after the couch incident he practically ran out the door taking Abby to school when you tried to bring it up. The next time you attempted to have “the talk” he stuttered out an excuse before retreating to the safety of his bedroom, so you gave up.
You know that there’s something between Mike and you that crosses the line of just friends, you both felt something change that night, but getting him to face his feelings and actually admit that will take work.
It's another night of sitting on Mike's couch mulling over what to do about the whole situation when you hear the front door open. You're shocked at first, usually you're asleep by the time Mike gets home. Sure enough when you check the clock it reads 6:33 in bulky red characters. Apparently, time flies when you're obsessing over how to get your friend turned complicated-accidental-one-night-stand to admit they have feelings for you.
You try (and fail) not to listen in on every move Mike makes in the kitchen, fighting to keeping your gaze trained on the TV as he makes his way to the living room.
In your eyes peripheral vision you see him begin to make his way to the couch, but he hesitates when his eyes fall on you. He awkwardly hovers between the two rooms for a few seconds until he takes a breath and walks over to the couch.
Mike sits next to you on the couch with a soft grunt. You wrestle with the need to look at him fully, but you can see out of the corner of your eye he's taken off his work boots and vest. His hair is sticking out at weird angles, curls frizzy and unruly. Your hand twitches against your thigh with the want to run your fingers through them.
You can feel your heart beat faster, struggling to sit still in the thick tension surrounding the two of you. You flick your eyes back to the TV in a vain attempt to focus on anything other than Mike.
Eventually, you lose the fight with your screaming inner monologue and chance a sideways glace in his direction. You're beyond surprised to find him already looking at you.
You stare back, a deer caught in headlights. The dim light coming from the TV highlights his eyes. Mike opens his mouth to seemingly break the silence but he stops himself short of actually speaking. You can see him fiddling nervously with the hem of his shirt.
It’s silent for a beat before you decide to speak up.
“Hi.” You say, it's a whisper but you might have well just yelled with how it cuts into the air between the two of you. Mike lets out what might be laugh, it sounds forced. "Hi." He replies stiffly.
"Home later than usual." You point out, fidgeting with your nail. Mike's home a little after 6: everyday, him being home 30 minutes late is odd.
Mike nods, he lets his head fall onto the back of the couch allowing his eyes to slip closed as he does. "Yeah," He replies, the position of his head allows you to get your greedy fill of his sharp jawline. "Jobs been hell."
You don't respond, but you know. Mike's been haggard recently, and not just because of the couch incident. The bags under his eyes have gotten worse, he's been forgetful, not to mention how much more neurotic and paranoid he's been.
Mike has been a wreck these past couple of days, and you want nothing more than to help him feel good. If not for just a few minutes.
You take a chance, and move to let your hand rest over his jean clad thigh. Mike tenses up immediately but doesn’t move to run or push your hand off.
"I could help you,” You say quietly, forcing yourself to keep eye contact. Mike's wide eyes flit rapidly between your eyes and lips. “Help you relax…” You trail off, voice barely above a whisper.
Your offer hangs heavy in the silence that settles. Mike just stares at you, after a while you start to regret making such a bold move. There’s an apology’s on the tip of your tongue, but when you start taking your hand off Mikes thigh he quickly grabs your wrist.
Your eyes snap back up to meet Mikes. His pupils are blown out, black encompassing warm brown. His tongue comes out to swipe across his bottom lip.
“You can...” Mike says simply, guiding your hand back to his thigh. Only he places it much higher up, high enough that you can feel the rough metal of his zipper brushing against the tip of your pinkie. "I need it." He breathes out desperately, eyes big and pleading. You allow yourself a second to just watch Mikes face before you start to move with a purpose.
You snake your hand lower, finding the already hard length of his cock through the rough material of his jeans. Mirroring what he did to you those ten days ago, you start to grind the heel of your hand against him.
Mike shudders, eyes fluttering shut at your touch. You can physically see tension slowly exit his body, leaving him slack and relaxed enough to sink deeper into the couch cushions.
The sight of him at ease and comfortable lights a fire in you. You feel a deep primal need to care for him, to make him feel good.
Patience wearing thin, you reach for the button of his jeans. Even in your arousal induced haste, you take a beat to appreciate the swell of Mike's cock pressing up against the denim. If this was any other time, you'd want to draw it out. To tease Mike until he can't take it anymore, but now is not any other time.
You pop the button to Mike's jeans, dragging the zipper down swiftly and pulling the flaps of his jeans open to frame his lewdly tented boxers. You can hear Mikes breath hitch, unable to keep from squirming under your intense gaze. The thin material leaves nothing to the imagination, the length and girth of him on display. There's a growing wet patch near the tip that's turned the light blue fabric dark and slick. An ache starts deep in your core, anticipation making you feel warm all over.
Slowly, you tug his boxers down enough for his cock to spring free and smack up against his stomach. "Ah! Shit," He hisses, hands balling up into fists by his sides.
Mike's dick is perfect. A nice length and girth you know will have your jaw aching in the best way later. The tip a soft pink color, and steadily leaking a stream of pre-come.
"I want to blow you," You say softly, getting close to Mike so your lips brush over his ear with every word. He shivers, mouth dropping open in a quiet moan. "Will you let me?"
Mike nods his head frantically. "Please," He pants, chest rising and falling quickly. "Please, I want it."
His begging is music to your ears.
You slide off the couch, kneeling between Mike's spread thighs. His straining cock makes your mouth water in anticipation. Holding the base in your hand, you lean forward to lick a board stripe from root to tip. Moaning at the heady taste and velvety feel of him on your tongue.
"God." Mike groans at the feel of your tongue.
You pull off with a slick pop, breaking a small thread of saliva trailing from the head of Mike's dick to your lips with your tongue. You lave over the tip, looking up to find Mike staring at you flushed and dark-eyed. You keep the eye contact as you sink back down, beginning to build up a rhythm.
Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Mike raise his hands before hesitating, and dropping them back down to the couch cushion. You can tell he wants to touch you, but he’s unsure of himself. You take his hands in yours, and place them on the top of your head.
At first he just sort of holds your head, overthinking what to do even with your permission. You’d laugh if you weren’t so busy preening over the feel of his unfairly big hands holding your head delicately, like he might break you.
“Fuck, your mouth…” Mike whispers, his words trailing off as he watches your lips work over his throbbing cock. His confidence grows, finally allowing himself to run his fingers through your hair and gather it in a loose fistful. Your moan of encouragement has him tightening his grip just a touch.
“Jesus,” Mike breathes quietly, you give him a lick underneath the head of his cock in response. "Fuck. Feels so good.”
You hum in response, working Mike's cock faster to draw out more of those whimpers that he can't hold in. Hollowing your cheeks and sinking down towards the circle of your fist still holding the base of his cock with wet, slick slurping sounds.
Mike's noises have gotten progressively louder by the second, you can feel his pulse beating wildly against your tongue through the vein running up his cock. You know he's close, and you're desperate to make him come.
You give him one long languid suck, swirling your tongue over the head as you pull off. His cock is slick with your spit, pulsing warningly. You use the wetness of your saliva as a makeshift lube to start stroking over him slowly.
"How's it feel, Mike?" You purr sensually,
When you sink back down, you don't break eye contact. Mike's eyes roll back into his head, the way his lips part on a sharp gasp, how his back arches off the couch, how his fist tightens even more around your hair.
Above you, Mike grunts, "Oh fuck, baby," His back arches, a rough gasp torn from his throat. The hand in your hair tugs sharply as he chokes out, "Gonna come, shit, gonna fucking come."
Mike shouts hoarsely, hips stuttering as he starts to come. His cock gives one final twitch in your mouth before he pumps load after load of warm come into your mouth. You moan loudly at the taste of his release coating your taste buds, swallowing what pools on your tongue routinely.
You continue to work your mouth over his cock, bringing Mike through the aftershocks of his orgasm, reveling in the broken sounds he keeps making. You lave your tongue over him savoring the taste of him, until he's tugging at your hair to pull you off his sensitive cock.
"C'mere, c'mere." He whines desperately. You’ve barely come up for air before Mike is bodily dragging you into his lap and kissing you like he needs it more than air.
His hand darts down your body and into your sweats. Mike moans in your mouth at the feel of your lacy panties absolutely soaked with your arousal. He wastes no time in finding your clit, rubbing tight circles over it with his thumb drawing a loud moan from your lips.
"Shit," You exclaim, nails digging into Mike's forearm. Your hips buck up into his touch, chasing his touch. "Mike..." You whine, needing him to do more.
"You drive me fucking crazy," He whispers roughly against the side of your face, sliding his pointer finger through the slick wetness of your folds. "I can't stop thinking about you."
“Oh god, Mike.” His fingers feel amazing, rubbing you in all the right places, his words lighting a fire in your stomach.
Mike gathers your wetness before pushing his thick middle finger in your tight heat. Your own moan gets drowned out by his guttural groan at the feeling of you clenching down on his finger.
“Fuck, you’re so wet.” He moans, thrusting his finger in and out of your aching pussy slowly. "You're so perfect, so perfect for me." Mikes lips trail kisses down your jaw as he adds a second finger into your dripping pussy, brushing against the spot inside you that sends white hot sparks of pleasure zinging up your spine.
"How's that feel?" He asks roughly, throwing your earlier teasing back in your face. You moan wantonly, hips moving grinding down as you ride his fingers in earnest.
Mike angles his hand in a way that lets his fingers thrust into you, hitting your g-spot all while the palm of his hand grinds into your clit
“I’m gonna come, Mike,” You whine desperately, hips stuttering as you tip over the edge. “I’m coming.”
"Yes, come for me." Mike whispers, lips brushing over your cheek.
Your chest heaves as you come down from your orgasm, collapsing against Mikes chest. You're an absolute mess, thighs shaking and sweat dripping down your back. A hiss escapes your mouth as Mike eases his fingers out of your twitching pussy. "Sorry." He whispers softly, kissing the top of your head tenderly.
You allow yourself to lay on his chest with his strong arms around your waist, keeping you close. So close you can feel his warm breath puffing out against your neck.
You don't want to let it, but reality sets in. "Are you gonna run away in the morning?" Your voice is so quiet you don't know if Mike even heard, and you can't force yourself to look up at him.
It takes him a second to register your words, you don't have to look at him to know he's wincing. "I," Mike starts, trying to find the right words. "I don't know." He admits, lips brushing against your hair.
The anger mixed with shame and embarrassment is quick to come, you scoff pushing off Mike's chest so you can go home. "Of course." You spit bitterly.
"Wait!" He rushes out, arms tightening on your waist to stop you leaving.
"What?" You bite out bitterly, whipping your head around to stare daggers at Mike. It backfires on you almost immediately, forcing you to stare into his big sad dumb eyes. He falters, mouth opening and closing as he fumbles to say anything.
You can't help that the look in his eyes tames your anger ever so slightly. The way he's silently pleading with you to stay, his brows drawn in concern and lips pulled down in a frown. Your steely resolve crumbles pathetically.
"What?" You repeat quietly. Mike flounders for a second more, before he finally gives in. "Please stay." He exhales softly, hands planting themselves on your hips, giving them a light squeeze..
Maybe it's your shitty resolve, maybe it's the post orgasm afterglow clouding your judgement, maybe it's the earnest look in Mike's eyes that keeps you from pushing out of his grip and out the door, but you just can't bring yourself to leave.
You stare back at him wrestling with your thoughts, but it's a losing game and you know that.
"Okay," You whisper slowly, settling yourself back down into his lap. "I'll stay."

head, shoulders, knees and toes || MORUCK
tagging: Morgan Weston & Noah Puckerman
date & time: September 21, 2024 at some point in the day idk
location: Morgan's Place
warnings: man pain
summary: Morgan's shoulder hurts and Puck tends to it. Maybe a little talking has but it's mostly just two men in pain.
word count: 4,968
PUCK was so fucking confused by every aspect of this thing him, Eva and Morgan were doing. Normally when shit was sun and casual, he was fun and casual and that's what they were, right? I mean, he'd thought after their original talk they were agreeing it was more than a one time thing, but that it wasn't an exclusive thing. Now, he's kinda pissed at and hurt by Morgan and he was annoyed knowing that Eva was out doing whatever she planned on doing out in that dress from the other night. And it doesn't make any sense because they didn't do anything wrong, technically. Yet, Puck went and slept with someone else because he didn't want to be the only one not seeing other people and he's been feeling like a dick about that because he basically used Kurt to put some distance between himself and his feelings, whatever they were, for Morgan and Eva. It didn't really work though, obviously given the current situation he was is. All of this was way too much to be thinking about in line at Target. So he just tried to zone out and move on auto-piolet to get himself to Morgan's place. Thankfully, that worked and now he had a Target bag full of first aid shit as he walked through the door to the living room almost exactly 45 minutes after he left his place. Squatting down so he was level with the other man laying on the couch, he put the bag down next to his feet. "Hey, man, can you sit up for me?" He asked his voice as gentle as he could make it.
MORGAN lay face down on the couch, his shoulder throbbing as he tried to breathe through the pain, his thoughts tangled up in more than just the pulled muscle. He’d been out in the barn doing what he always did - working, staying busy - but all it took was one wrong move, and now here he was, feeling helpless and confused about everything else on top of it. He heard the door open and the sound of Puck’s footsteps, feeling a strange mix of relief and guilt at hearing his voice. Puck had been distant lately, and Morgan could only think of one reason; his date with Serena. And Morgan only did that, because he was under the assumption that Puck and Eva were both already seeing other people too. It was like they’d all gotten their wires crossed somewhere, but he’d thought they were all on the same page from the beginning. Morgan let out a grunt and tried to push himself up when Puck squatted down next to him, the Target bag rustling as it hit the floor. “I can try,” he mumbled, his voice muffled by the pillow. Slowly, with a groan, he attempted to sit up, but without any luck, and he fell back down, face planted into the pillow, and he let out a heavy sigh, feeling defeated. He turned to look at Puck, and something twisted inside him. The concern in Puck’s eyes hit harder than the pain in his shoulder. “Thanks for comin',” he said softly, his fingers toying with a string from the throw pillow. “I figured I just pulled somethin’. Been haulin’ hay bales all day.” He paused, chewing on his lip for a moment before getting into addressing the elephant in the room, because that was a whole different kind of pain.
PUCK was trying really hard not to be effected by how much Morgan was genuinely struggling. It was actually really difficult to see this big and strong man not even be able to lift himself up to sit up. That soothing voice tinged with pain as he spoke, the groan the escaped the man as he tried doing as Puck asked and the subsequent flop right back fown into the couch when he failed to sit upright. Puck couldn't help it when his hand reached out to run his fingers through the other man's hair, removing his hand only when he turned to face him. Nodding in response, not trust himself to speak on anything but the injury right now, he simply kept his mouth shut. Readjusting so he was on his knees and could get a better look at Morgan's shoulder, Puck resisted the urge to kiss the top of his head and he reached over, one of his hands resting on his back gently just below the hurting shoulder blade. No matter how annoyed or hurt or whatever he might be with Morgan right now, he cared about the man, and Puck was never going to be okay with someone he cared for being in any kind of pain. So he actively tried to avoid putting any pressure on the actual Shoulder for now. "I'm gonna have to apply some pressure in places okay? It's probabyl gonna hurt and I'm sorry alright, the second you make a pained nose I'll back off so don't just try and breath through the shit, say something, I just need to figure out how bad it is." Puck explained before his free hand came to rest in the space between his shoulderblades. "One... two... three." With that he starting to apply a little pressure in various spots on the effected shoulder. Stopping when he heard Morgan respond or felt the muscles contract.
MORGAN let out a low groan as he tried to brace himself for what was coming, feeling the warmth of Puck’s hand resting just below the sore spot on his back. The gentle touch of Puck’s fingers in his hair had been oddly comforting, though Morgan couldn’t bring himself to say anything about it. It was just one of those things Puck did that made everything feel a little less overwhelming, even if it was only for a second. He squeezed his eyes shut as Puck started to explain what he was about to do, trying to focus on his breathing, but every word just reminded him of the deeper ache he’d been trying to ignore. Not just the pain in his shoulder, but the whole mess between the three of them. When did everything get so damn complicated? He thought they'd all been on the same page, and now he just felt like he’d done something wrong without knowing exactly what it was. “Alright,” Morgan muttered, nodding slightly as Puck’s hand settled on his back. He tensed as Puck counted down, bracing for the pressure. “Go ahead,” he grunted, trying to prepare himself. As Puck pressed on the sore spots, Morgan let out a sharp hiss, clenching his fists against the couch cushions. It hurt, no doubt about it, but he wasn’t about to say anything yet. He’d dealt with worse - ranch life didn’t exactly allow for much complaining, and the amount of injuries he’d gotten from doing rodeos couldn’t be counted on both Morgan and Puck’s hands - but this was different. This wasn’t just physical pain. There was something about the care Puck was showing him, even while being pissed off, that made everything hit harder. He forced out a shaky breath, trying to speak through the discomfort. Morgan flinched slightly as Puck hit another tender spot, but he gritted his teeth and kept going. He winced as Puck applied pressure again, then let out a defeated sigh. “We gotta stop, it hurts too damn much.” He breathed out, trying to steady himself through the pain.
PUCK wanted to stop at the first sign of Morgan's pain. The idea that he was causing it, made it really hard to do what he needed to do to assess his shoulder. With everything muscle contraction and every wince and groan, Puck let out an apologetic 'I'm sorry.' Almost under his breath, he wasn't sure if Morgan could hear and as he moved along the wounded area he was relieved when the other man finally called it because he didn't think he could cause him pain for another second. Taking his hands off of his shoulder he tried to resist the urge to run a hand down his back and failed miserably. "I don't think it's dislocated or anything too bad. Just overworked, sore and maybe bruised." He sat back on the heels on his boots as he reached into the Target back and pulled out a bottle of extra strength Tylenol and a water bottle. Getting two pills out for the cowboy, he opened the water bottle, before handing the pills to him. "Take two of these every six to eight hours for the next three days. If the pain is still this bad after that you'll need to go to am actual doctor." Puck wasn't certified in much more than first aid but there were some things he had to learn on the battlefield to keep civilians, his fellow soldiers and himself alive. "In about fifteen minutes, I'm gonna help you sit up and it's probably not gonna feel all that great and I'm sorry about that." He said, but the he moved to sit on the floor his back against the couch, his legs out in front of him, he told his phone to set a timer for fifteen minutes before looking at his lover and feeling that damn flutter in his chest. Gos damn, his dad was right. He is weak. "How'd you manage to fuck up your shoulder doing something you've done a million times before? Don't you know your limits?" He was concerned but trying not to sound to harsh even though he was still annoyed at the other man, he didn't want him running himself broken and ragged.
MORGAN let out a low grunt, more from the ache in his shoulder than anything else, as he turned his head slightly to look at Puck sitting on the floor next to him. He appreciated the help, even if it didn’t feel too great right now. The way Puck’s fingers had traced down his back - despite the pain - was comforting in a way Morgan hadn’t expected. The guy had a softness to him, even when he was annoyed, and that just made everything more confusing. He swallowed the Tylenol without a word, letting his cheek press back into the pillow as he took a deep breath, trying to focus on anything but the nagging ache. “Thanks, man,” he mumbled, his voice low, though he wasn’t just talking about the pills. Puck didn’t need to be here, didn’t have to take care of him like this, but he was doing it anyway. Morgan tried to laugh off Puck’s concern, though the sound came out weak and strained. “Hell if I know. I guess I was just pushin’ it without thinking.” He shifted a little, wincing again as a sharp jolt ran through his shoulder. “I’ve been movin’ those damn bales for years, never thought I’d pull somethin’. Maybe I’m finally getting old.” He could feel the tension between them, something unsaid still hanging in the air. That was what bothered him more than the physical pain - this invisible wall that seemed to have sprung up between him, Puck, and Eva. He stared at the back of Puck’s head for a long moment, wondering how to approach it. But he wasn’t great with words, especially when it came to stuff like this. He didn’t even know how to begin asking what had gone wrong between them, or if he’d misunderstood everything.Morgan exhaled slowly, the weight of it all settling heavier than his own body on the couch. “I don’t get it, Puck,” he finally muttered, voice barely above a whisper. “I thought we were all good... I thought you and Eva were seein’ other people too. So what happened? Why’d everything go sideways?” His eyes flicked up toward Puck’s face, searching for some kind of answer. There was a vulnerability to Morgan’s tone that he didn’t show often - hell, he barely even let himself feel it most of the time. But lying here like this, unable to do much more than wait for the pain to pass, he couldn’t stop it from creeping in.
PUCK had spent way too much time in his own head the past couple of days, Gabe having made an appearance definitely hadn't helped. Even though it had been cathartic to punch him in his fucking face, it seemed that wasn't a cure all for the psychological damage Puck had endured for thirty years thanks to the unkind words of his father. Having too much time to himself usually led down a dark self loathing path where he started to not only hear the cruel and mean words of his father but he also started to see truth in them. So, of course, when he started to think more and more about Morgan and Serena, his mind convinced itself that the moment they'd shared had only been a moment for him and just sex for the cowboy. That maybe if he was Eva, things would be different. That if that moment had happened with Eva, Morgan never could have gone out with someone else. Now, with how mad Eva was at Morgan, would she have even cared if it had been him? Was he just in the thing in the middle of their great love story. The odd man out, the third wheel. I mean, Puck had never been the guy you fell in love with. He was the guy you fucked until you found the person you fell in love with. His dad was right, a bright smile and fuck was all he was good for. As he sat there, looking anywhere but at the other man, he understood his feelings for his two lovers. Understood it was more than sex for him, there was a deep care and appreciation there. A need, for the time, for their attention, for them. Maybe it was more than care and appreciation, but he wasn't willing to open that door, not when he was so sure it would be slammed in his face. He could hear the words coming out of Morgan's mouth, but he felt like he was outside of his body right now, just there and not there. Why did he come? All this was doing was making him feel more and it fucking hurt. Sitting there, he let the questions process in his head and he brought himself back to his body again. "We're good, man. And this thing between you and Eva, y'all will figure it out. I ain't got no doubts about that. You just gotta talk to her. Listen to her, maybe be honest about how y'all feel about each other." A part of him wanted to express his feelings for the man, for Eva, but he just didn't want to be in the way anymore.
MORGAN listened to Puck, feeling the weight of the other man's words sink in. There was something off in the way Puck said they were 'good' like he was pushing everything down, trying to make it sound simple. But Morgan knew better, could hear the pain beneath the surface. He was face-down on his couch, in physical pain, sure - but now his heart was twisting too. He wasn’t sure how everything got so messed up between them, and it killed him that Puck seemed to think he was the odd one out in this whole situation. He winced as he shifted his head slightly on the pillow, staring at the floor, his voice soft. “I ain’t just in this thing with Eva. I care about you too, Puck.” He groaned as he tried to push himself up a little, the strain on his shoulder making him stop almost immediately. "I don’t know if I’ve been clear enough ‘bout that." Morgan’s voice cracked slightly, a rare moment of emotion breaking through his usual calm, easy-going demeanor. His heart pounded as he said the words, unsure of how they’d land, but he couldn’t hold it in anymore. Puck needed to know, and maybe Morgan needed to admit it to himself too. "I don’t know how to fix this," he continued, quieter now. "I’m not good with... talkin’ about feelings. Hell, I barely know what I’m feelin' half the time, that’s why I take so long to figure it out. But I know that you’re important to me. And I hate that you’re feelin’ like you’re in the way, ‘cause that ain’t true." Morgan placed his free hand on Puck’s shoulder, his fingers softly moving to caress his earlobe to get his attention, and he finally lifted his head just enough to look at Puck, his eyes soft with both pain and sincerity. "You’re not just some... third wheel in this. And I don’t want you thinkin’ I don’t care, ‘cause I do." He swallowed hard, hoping the words were enough. "I don’t know what’s gonna happen with Eva and me, but I want you in this too, Puck. Not just as a part of it, but as someone I care about."
PUCK heard Morgan's words and they sounded nice until that voice in his head weighed in. 'You can care about somebody and not wanna be with them, son. Don't be so stupid.' The sound of his father's voice had never been so loud as they were right now, drowning out everything else. Hell, Puck hadn't even noticed Morgan trying to push himself up, he was so focused on looking the floor in front of him. Of course once Morgan started talking again, there was the sound, his father's laugh. Laughing at him because the cowboy's words filled him with hope, his touch made him want to give in and tell him everything, tell him he cared about him too, that he was importnat to him that all he wants is to matter to him and to Eva, that he wants them to be together. Exclusively, he doesn't want them to date or fuck anyone else. Want to tell him about Kurt.... that he couldn't fuck him because of his feelings for injured man next to him and their goddess. But before he could muster up the energy and the courage, there was that fucking voice again, louder than ever. 'He's just being nice being you're being fucking pathetic and he's too hurt to tell you to fuck off.' And the laugher just filled his mind, until he took a deep breath and finally looked at the other man. "There's not to fi-" He was cut off by the timer. Jesus, had it been fifteen minutes already? Getting up, he positioned himself so Morgan could throw his good arm over his shoulders. "Hey, we're gonna sit up now so I can get you some topical pain shit and then wrap up your shoulder and put some ice packs on it for abouot 15 minutes." He explained, "Just put your good arm around me okay? It's probably gonna hurt but I'll make it quick, promise." Shit he was now realizing, that Morgan's shirt as gonna have to come off and both the cream and the wrap were gonna be... intimate. Shit, shit, shit. "You ready?"
MORGAN could feel the hesitation in Puck’s movements, even before he said a word. Something was off, and the silence between them, thick and heavy, didn’t sit right. Puck’s voice seemed distant, almost like he was on autopilot, going through the motions. Morgan wasn’t the sharpest when it came to reading people, but even he could tell something deeper was eating at Puck. He groaned as Puck helped him sit up, his shoulder burning with pain, but his mind was more focused on the sudden distance he felt between them. The idea of stripping off his shirt with Puck this close should’ve felt normal, comfortable even, after all they’d been through. But now, it felt like there was a wall between them, a barrier that neither of them knew how to break. Morgan rested his good arm around Puck’s shoulders as instructed, wincing at the effort. “Yeah, let’s do it. I’m ready,” he said, trying to keep his tone light despite everything. He couldn’t help but feel like the physical pain was the least of his problems right now. He let Puck do his thing, waiting for the inevitable sting of the cream, but what hurt worse was the distance he could feel growing with each second of silence. It gnawed at him, making the ache in his shoulder seem trivial in comparison. He had no idea how they got here, how things got so complicated between them, between him, Puck, and Eva. He didn’t want to screw this up. But hell, he was already feeling like he might’ve done just that. Taking a breath, Morgan finally spoke, his voice softer, more vulnerable. “I don’t wanna hurt you, Puck. Not you, not Eva.” Morgan wasn’t good with feelings, wasn’t good at navigating this kind of emotional terrain. But Puck mattered. He had to try. “You’re not a third-wheel. You’re in this, with Eva and I.” He glanced up at Puck, hoping the man would believe him, hoping he hadn’t already lost him before they even really figured out what they had.
PUCKwrapped his own arm gently around Morgan's back to offer some more support as he slowly helped the other man up. There was no way to make it painless but the pain killers should be helping a little bit, so he didn't have to feel so bad about making him move so much.Thankfully, having something to focus on helped his head stay quiet. Quiet enough to hear Morgan's words and not immediately have them dismissed or reasoned away by his negative thoughts. For a few minutes he could just try to believe what he was saying was true. But he still wasn't sure what to say or how to respond so he just got the cream and the wrap and the ice packs out of his back. The ice packs had come from his house and were still frozen even after twenty minutes out of the cooler. Putting everything on the nearet surface, he stood in front of the other, moving his good arm to remove it from the sleeve of his shirt, then pulling it over Morgan's head and slipping it the rest of the way off by sliding it gingerly down the other arm. Trying not to focus too much on his naked torse, Puck just sat down on Morgan's injusred side and got the cream and started applying it. Trying to be as gentle as possible, apologizing along the way when he knew he had hit a particuraly sore part. He wanted to place little kisses accross his skin, but he felt too paralyzed to do that. Instead he sat back to give the cream a few minutes to work before doing the wrap. "It's fine man." He finally managed. "Just... saw my dad this weekend is all. It got physical." This was true and he still had the bruises on his ribs to prove it. His knuckles were basically all the way normal again.
MORGAN flinched as Puck gingerly pulled his shirt off, the sudden cool air on his bare skin making him shiver a little, though it was more from the nerves than the temperature. Having Puck this close, his hands gentle but steady as he applied the cream, made Morgan’s mind race. He didn’t know how to handle the mix of emotions swirling inside him - pain, confusion, and something softer, warmer, that he still didn’t have a name for. When Puck finally spoke, the words cut through the haze of pain and uncertainty. ‘Just… saw my dad this weekend is all. It got physical.’ Morgan felt his chest tighten, a different kind of ache blooming now. He knew Puck had his demons, that much had always been clear, but hearing it put like that, so casually, made Morgan’s heart twist. He didn’t know the full story, but the idea of Puck dealing with that kind of pain - physical and emotional - while he’d been too wrapped up in his own confusion to notice, hit him hard. His own problems suddenly felt small, trivial. Here he was, lying face down on the couch, stuck in his head about feelings and misunderstandings, while Puck had been dealing with something real, something raw. Morgan wanted to reach out, to offer more than just words, but his body wouldn’t cooperate, his injured shoulder making sure of that. Instead, he turned his head slightly to look at Puck, his voice softer than usual. “I’m sorry. But y’know, whatever he said, whatever he did, there was a reason behind your motivation, and it was all him.” He let the silence settle for a beat, watching Puck’s hands as they worked. “Look, I know we ain’t always great at talkin’ about stuff, but you don’t gotta handle this alone, alright? I mean, we’re in this… whatever this is, together. And I’m here, if you want me to be.” Morgan wasn’t sure how to say what he was feeling - hell, he wasn’t even sure what he was feeling - but he knew one thing for sure: he didn’t want Puck to feel like he had to carry all this by himself.
PUCK just tried to focus on the task at hand and not think about anything else, not even about the man whose shoulder he was tending to. Of course, he was utterly failing at that, mainly because it was impossible for the former Marine not to have his mind consumed by someone who was shirtless in front of him, trusting him and reaching out to him. It didn't make any sense that Puck was feeling how he was, but he couldn't help it. Maybe his vet group was right and he did need one on one help. Also known as therapy but Puck would never call it that. Before Morgan even spoke, he knew the other man would be supportive and kind, but the softness in his voice. That he hadn't been expecting and honestly, he didn't deserve it. But as he starting wrapping the shoulder up and getting the sling out, Morgan spoke again and it was exactly the right thing to say and he knew the cowboy meant every word, and yet, he found himself rejecting every syllable. This, right here, was the same reason he didn't talk to his mom after a Gabe run in. It was too kind, too caring, too understanding, to loving and Puck just didn't feel like he earned that from them, that he didn't deserve it from anyone. So he didn't respond right away and just finished wrapping the arm and then draping the ice packs over Morgan's shoulder. "Ice this, fifteen minutes, four times a day for four days. Wear the sling for a week. Which means no work, no using the shoulder at all really. You should go see an actual doctor though. Take care of yourself so you don't have to deal with a bum shoulder for the rest of your life." He sighed because he knew he was going to have to reply to everything Morgan had said before, he just didn't know how. "I know my dad isn't a good dude and that he's just an addict and an asshole. And I know I've got people." He said the last part softer and looked Morgan in the eye when he said it. "I'll be fine, man. I always am. Focus on gettin' that shoulder healed up." He said with a small smile, trying to make the mood a little lighter, maybe.
MORGAN felt the weight of silence linger between them, the air thick with unspoken words. Puck’s careful hands wrapped his shoulder with a tenderness that made Morgan’s heart race, even as he fought to push the feelings away. It was easier to focus on the pain, the ice, the practicalities, than to confront the mess of emotions swirling inside him. “I appreciate you, you know,” Morgan finally said, his voice steady but soft, searching Puck's eyes for a sign that he understood. “It’s not just about the shoulder.” He paused, glancing at the ice packs. “You’re always there.” He could see the tension in Puck’s jaw, the way he avoided letting those words settle. Morgan wanted to reach out, to bridge the distance, but he also understood the barriers they had both built. “You don’t have to carry everything alone,” he added, a hint of urgency creeping into his tone. “We’re in this together. You’ve got me, and you’ve got Eva.” The slight smile on Puck’s face felt like a lifeline, even if it was a fragile one. “I know you’re used to being the strong one, but strength can come from letting people in too,” he said, trying to keep it light. Morgan leaned back slightly, studying Puck, the way the sun caught his features, highlighting the conflict behind his eyes. “You matter to me, Puck. Just don’t forget that, alright?” It was a small step, but he hoped it would encourage Puck to share more, to lean on him just a little. “Thank you for comin',” he said genuinely, hoping to ease the weight between them with a soft smile. Reaching his other hand out, he put it on Puck's own healthy shoulder, giving it a little squeeze. He wanted so badly to caress that cheek of his, show him that he was there for him, but he also wasn't about to take it a step too far, if he was crossing any boundaries. So he kept it on the shoulder, and smiled at him, grateful. “With your help, it'll be just fine."

Random DR thoughts Part 34.5 - jk. Latest thoughts -
Who do people keep saying Daniel won't be back or this is his last F1 race ever? He needs the year off - he's explicitly said so. I hope even Jenson Button (clearly cares for DR but also hasn't helped by criticizing him publically) seems to finally get it. Loved how passionate Jenson is about him and his belief in Daniel, but he should just be a friend or speak privately) or publically acknowledge nobody knows what could happen. You can just see and hear it in Daniel's interviews. Man is ready to take a 2-month nap.
The truth is the same teams that are avail currently like Haas, Williams (and more) will still be there. For them to get someone of Daniel's caliber, the door will always be open. Daniel specifically said it isn't about Haas/Williams. And has stated if he gets in a car now, and doesn't have the spirit and fight needed and ends up in another failed campaign, his F1 career would be over anyways. He admitted he can't keep on weight from the stress. For the 10 years before he handled the stress beautifully, clearly this is an outlier. Can people please listen to him?
Clearly trying to maintain professionalism for the team/this year is taking its toll. Notice he did not thank or mention Zak or Andreas in his letter (nor did Zak post about DR today). He's started to slip by mentioning the contract situation during interviews - like we can't avoid talking about it. The truth is everyone's tired of maintaining everything's ok. Again - do I wish McLaren or even journalists would acknowledge McLaren's role more? Only Sebastian Vettel has dared to make such a remark. Everyone dances around it. Much easier to critize Daniel, then hold the team accountable for having gone about the process so terribly. No one wants to make enemies so everyone just skirts around. He, again, like a grown up, accepted responsibility for poor results. What is heartening is clearly the McLaren team love Daniel. I love that he and Lando found a way to, it seems, have a genuine friendship! In any event, EVERYONE is tired of maintaining the elephant in the room.
He just needs a break.
If Magnusson and Hulkenberg can bump into these team sideways and manage to find seats after 2-3 years away, why wouldn't Daniel have a chance to do so? I'm sure a DR at 100% in 2024, should he decide he wants to, will be fine. I kind of can't wait for him to be a menace during specific races in 2023 once he's had some time! Of course, his choices at top teams are limited, but the market will always have movement, and while re might not be better, one can only hope!
I saw some takes on here that did make me sad. Daniel should be able to have the same kind of send off as Seb or Kimi -it's true. Heartbreaking. I'm choosing to believe this isn't the actual end. If they started the send offs now, it would feel like a true ending. He does however eventually deserve a proper send off!
Fantasy thinking (for fun, joke): Max wants him back as a teammate, he'll clearly make it so!! I mean, that hug today 🥺?? Alonso and Stroll Sr and Jr will for sure have issues. Don't think Alonso thought through this move. If he's already pissed about Alpine/Esteban - why put yourself in a place where you have to work with your boss' son?! As sometime who has to work with a nepotism hire, trust, you can't win! Starting to feel like I’m writing 2023 DTS scenes. Ha. Someone said a lot of people on the grid need to be on their best because Daniel is a good option - and they do!
People forget F1 isn't singularly about the sport/results. It is a money driven business, and Daniel's value - in addition to his skills -come into okay as well. It would be curious to better understand how impactful it is.
(Ok, off soap box. Even as this entire day has been a dumpster fire of emotions.)

Distracting Thoughts
Prompt: Stranded On A Boat
Characters: Beelzebub x Fem!MC
Content Warnings: Masturbation, MC has thalassophobia(a fear of the ocean and other large bodies of water), MC fantasizing about Beel, lots of smutty good times with Beel
(I like how there is a word for how I feel about large bodies of water. Did not expect it to be this long ass word though.)
Another fic for @voltage-vixen ‘s Summer of Smut challenge! Enjoy!
“How on Earth did I end up in this mess?”
A heavy sigh left your lips and you buried your face into your hands.
Right now, you were stuck in the middle of the sea on a boat that Lord Diavolo had outright purchased. Not everything was going so bad, but you wouldn’t be feeling so slighted if everything was going good either.
Oh no, no. It was simply terrible.
For one thing, while you weren’t in immediate danger, being stuck in the middle of the freaking ocean was downright terrifying! All you could think of was scary scenarios of you drowning in this never-ending sea. Like the boat could sink and you could drown, you could fall over the edge and drown, or you could fall over the edge and a nearby shark could see you as a tasty snack and that could be your end. Your mind just kept coming up with the most exaggerated and impossible one-in-a-million chance scenarios that really did no good for you.
You hated being anywhere near large bodies of water, but there was one thing that kept some of the thoughts at bay. And that was you weren’t entirely alone.
You sat on the back deck of the boat Diavolo had purchased, far away from either edge that you didn’t want to be near, and before you was the ever-so lively Demon Brothers of the House of Lamentation. In short, your lively roommates who just make everything so much better...sometimes. Lord Diavolo and Barbatos was there as well but they mostly kept to themselves with Diavolo mostly sunbathing.
Your mind felt more at ease with the guys around since you knew if any of the scenarios did happen, they would not hesitate to immediately step in to save you. Though you still hope it would never have to come to that in the first place. You felt most safe around Beelzebub, the sixth born.
Your eyes caught him in the pool that was several feet away from you. He was joined by his twin and locked in a fierce game with the second and third born. Well, you say fierce but its clear that Beelzebub is the victor. Mammon and Leviathan were no match against Beel’s pure strength. And had Belphegor been with anyone else besides his twin, he definitely would not have stood a chance against a team up of his older brothers.
You weren’t too interested in their game play, however. Your eyes were trained on Beel. Even before this boat fiasco, your eyes have never strayed far away from the gluttonous demon. For a long time, you didn’t know if it was a crush or if you’re just naturally drawn to his sweet nature.
“Or maybe that chiseled body of his.”
The tips of your ears grew hot as the thought crept in, replacing your previous anxiety-ridden thoughts. Your mind soon became riddled with images of Beelzebub’s torso. Mostly of his glorious pecs and washboard abs because this demon was built like a freaking Greek God. God knew exactly what he was doing when he made him, but him being a demon made his appeal so much greater! It was, in every sense of the word, sinful.
You were brought back to reality when you heard a large splash and some yelling. You looked up in time to see Levi and Mammon getting flung out of the pool by Beel, all while Belphie napped out on a floating donut. The whole thing brought you to tears as you laughed at the ridiculousness of it all. Mammon had caught you laughing and scolded you.
“Hey, (Y/N)! Don’t laugh, it ain’t funny!,” he yelled, but you continued to chuckle. You felt a little bad, but it was so unexpected as Beel had grabbed them by their feet and literally threw them out.
“(Y/N) witnessed our defeat...how uber lame,” muttered Leviathan as he rubbed his now aching back.
Wiping away your tears, you let out an amused sigh and went off on your own to explore the boat. You were unaware of Beel calling after you as you walked away.
________________________________________________________________
You thought it would be a good idea to explore the boat since Lord Diavolo had bought it and anything he buys is always luxurious. And it was but...
As you wandered the halls, you suddenly understood what sailors meant by sea legs. Although the boat was mostly steady, there would be an occasional gentle rocking of the boat. And had it been anyone else, it would have been fine but no! It completely unsettled you and your thoughts once again became filled with disturbing scenarios of that all ended in you meeting your end in some extreme way or another.
“Oh why did I think it was okay to go off on my own?,” you thought.
Feeling sick to your stomach, you thought it best to just retire to your room and calm your incessant thoughts. You flopped onto your bed and buried your face into your pillow. You hope this day would end so you could finally get off this nightmare. You tried to refocus your mind on something else, because even with you running through every possibility of drowning in every way possible, you were aware that you were in safe hands. None of the brothers would ever let you meet such an end in this never-ending sea full of wonders and mysteries.
You thought back to earlier and found yourself thinking of Beel once more.
The images from earlier made you kick your legs as your face became hot and flushed. You groaned into your pillow with frustration.
“Fuuuuckkkk!,” you screamed internally, feeling slightly ashamed for thinking about Beelzebub in such a manner. But thinking of him did make the other thoughts fade away to the background. Plus you may have a crush on him, so..was it totally wrong to fantasize about him showing up to your room, body dripping with water and looking at you with lust filled eyes?
....Okay, hold up, that actually is kinda hot.
It was the most prevalent image in your head. It made you wonder if you would have the chance to actually have Beel in your room and let him take you. Or maybe have the courage to be that daring?
You felt a tingling sensation between your legs and rolled on your back, blushing. You dwelled on the thought a little more to the point that it became a fantasy. And you imagined Beelzebub crawling towards you on your bed until his face was a couple inches away from yours. His rough hands were on your thighs, lifting them up so your clothed sex could feel the hardness of his bulge clothed from the thin material of his swim shorts.
The heat within your core began to grow and before you knew it, you were already trying to calm the growing heat with your hand. You were craving for the imaginary touch that only existed in your mind. Rubbing against your clit, the fantasy progressed into Beel removing your clothes and pushing his shorts down to free his hardened member. You imagined him stroking his cock against your sensitive slit that was getting wetter and wetter in reality.
Your breathing became heavy and you brought up a free hand to go under your shirt and bra to twist at your nipples. The fantasy continued as you imagined Beel dipping his fingers inside of you, stretching out your pussy to prepare you for him.
Moans started to escape from your lips as your hands worked on your body to bring you the stimulation and release you desperately searched for. You weren’t aware of it but you were also moaning Beel’s name. Apparently you were being a bit loud, because you failed to hear the knocking at your door and the sound of it opening until...
“(Y/N).”
You snapped out of your fantasy-filled haze when you heard your name. Suffice to say, you were extremely embarrassed to find a blushing Beelzebub in your room, half-eaten snacks in his hands. You quickly covered yourself up with a shout, but it was much too late. You were sure that he had saw everything. He probably even heard you too.
“Waah! I’m so fucking embarrassed! Oh my God,” you cringed, trying so hard to fold in on yourself so you could disappear.
“Ah, (Y/N)! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to barge in like that,” he apologized profusely. He saw your covers move a bit but no sign of you poking your head out. You whined as you stammered out, “It’s fine! I should have locked my door. I didn’t mean for you to see me...like that...so.”
Ahhh, if anything was more worse than drowning in an ocean where your body likely won’t be found, it was definitely having your crush walk in on you masturbating to him. Ok, maybe not that much worse but still! Tears began to well up in your eyes and you fully expected for Beelzebub to walk out as this situation must have been a bit awkward. But instead you felt your bed dip in a bit as another weight was added. A hand was placed on your back and started rubbing in circles. Your lip trembled as your tears fell, because WHY WAS HE SO FREAKING SWEET!?
Yeah, you were definitely crushing on him. This is why he was the only one on the crush list.
Beelzebub could feel you trembling and his face was still red from walking in on you. Though if he had to admit it, seeing you like that really turned him on. And to hear you moan his name so wantonly was like music to his ears. But he still felt bad because it was your private time that he interrupted. All because he wanted to hang out with you since he wanted to do so earlier, but you didn’t hear him calling after you.
But now there was a massive elephant in the room and neither of you knew how to bring it up without it becoming more awkward. Or your in case more embarrassed.
“(Y/N)?”
“Yes, Beel?”
“I’m still sorry for earlier. I wanted to hangout, but do...do you want me help you a bit?”
You shot up like a rocket and turned wide-eyed to face a startled Beelzebub, who was feeling a bit pervy for asking you that question. But to you, he didn’t need to feel like that because this was the moment you were thinking of earlier! You started to laugh at the irony, causing Beel to become confused which you noticed.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I’m not laughing at you, Beel!,” you chuckled out. “It was just that earlier I was thinking of what would I do if I had you in my room all to myself.”
At that, the gentle giant smiled at you, understanding why you were laughing. He crawled towards you, his face a few inches from yours. You were smiling but your face grew warm.
“So is it a ‘yes’?,” he asked, though his lips were drawing in close to yours.
“Y-yes-mmph,” his lips had closed in on yours and you felt his hands come up to your shoulders. Sliding off the covers from your body, Beel gently laid you back on the bed. You wrapped your arms around him as he coaxed your mouth open with a bit of prodding from his tongue. You could taste the sweetness of the snacks he had earlier as your tongues became entangled. You gasped when he pulled away.
Beelzebub set his focus on leaving kisses on your neck, starting a trail. He got to your breasts and cupped them in his hands, firmly squeezing them. A squeal escaped from your lips when you felt his wet tongue teasing your nipple. He sucked it into his mouth, pulling before letting it go with a pop.
"Ahhaaa, Beel! Please," you pleaded as he devoured your chest. You couldn't take it with him pulling, twisting, and sucking on your sensitive nubs. Your hands had moved to his forearms and you held a firm grip on them as Beel sucked away.
With a final tug, he left your poor nipples alone, going back to his task of leaving butterfly kisses on your body. Your body trembled with ecstasy but soon jolted from a shock when you felt a wet appendage lapping at your swollen clit.
Once Beel had finished leaving you kisses, he came across your pussy, still wet and glistening from when you were masturbating to him. His eyes darkened as his mind drifted back to that scene of you pleasuring yourself, seeing your delectable juices dripping your core.
He just knew that he had to taste you. To devour such a pretty, pink platter that was meant for him to sample. As soon as his tongue made contact with your clit, he felt you jump but he continued to lap at it, enjoying the taste and fragrance you gave off. You squirmed and your pants started to fill the room. Your toes curled and your feet had a hard time not slipping off your sheets as you encouraged Beel to keep going.
His tongue parted your puffy, pussy lips and he noticed your legs trembling. So he hooked his hands underneath your knees, spreading them further to her better access. He let your legs rest on his shoulders, all the while keeping his mouth on you.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck," you chanted over and over as your back arched, wanting to rub your sex over his tongue. You could feel yourself coming undone and on the verge of cumming. Beel's member twitched against the thin fabric of his swim shorts as he could tell your release was imminent, but...
Reluctantly, he pulled away from your pussy. He really wanted you to release all your tasty juices over his cock. He wiped away the mix of his saliva and your own cream from his chin.
You groaned but it turned into a squeak when Beel crawled back on top of you. Your legs were still over his shoulders and so you felt your body being folded in half but it wasn't too uncomfortable. But it aroused you more as you could feel his bulge heavy against your sex. You wanted it inside, for it to stretch your walls as you take every inch Beel gave you. For you to cream all over it so you could lick it off him and he could do it all over again.
Beelzebub's lips pressed against yours and you wasted no time parting your lips so his tongue could share the taste of your pussy. You could feel Beel's hands fumbling to pull down his shorts to let his cock finally breath. His lips never left yours, even as he guided his cock to your hole. You had braced yourself but was pleasantly surprised when he sanked into you with ease, but it still raised a moan out of you as your wall stretched to accommodate him.
Beel broke the kiss to let out a hissing sound as your pussy took him in so smoothly. He could feel you clenching around him, wanting to greedily take in more. But he was fully seated inside you, his balls pressed firmly against the plumpness of your ass.
"Shit...(Y/N), you feel so fucking amazing," he said as he recaptured your lips with his and rocked his hips to get a little friction going. He pulled back until only half of his dick was inside and slammed back into you. He repeated the action a few more times, drawing out moans that ended up getting swallowed up by him.
You pulled away from the kiss to cry out freely as he set a hard, quick pace as his hips connected with yours repeatedly. The slapping sound of your skin colliding overcome the sounds of your moans and cries. Beel couldn't help but groan at the way your pussy tightened around him with every thrust. Your body trembled against his as the heat became overwhelming. Your hands scrambled to grip at something, changing from scratching at Beelzebub's back or balling up your sheets into your fist, as you feared that the pleasure was going to take you away.
The seams were tearing and Beel could feel you were close as your pussy convulsed around him. So he sat up, holding your legs up, and pounded away at you. Your moans turned to screams and chants of Beel's name as his cock wrecked you.
"Beeeeel! I'm cumming, cumming!," you screamed, but it didn't deter him even as your released overflowed on his cock. The consistent clenching of your pussy finally drove him over the edge and his seed coated the inside of your walls, a deep growl erupted from him as he pressed his cock deep inside you.
With the both of you spent for the moment, Beel slipped out of you and collapsed beside you. However, he wrapped his arms around you to bring you closer. You sighed contently, feeling very much satiated as well as Beelzebub.
You felt lips pressing against your forehead and giggled before giving Beel a chaste kiss on the lip.
"That was amazing," you smiled. You saw his cheeks redden and the hug tightens.
"I-I would like to do that again...maybe sometime," spoke the blushing giant as he looked into your eyes.
The tips of your ears turning red as you agreed.
You figured this boat nightmare wasn't too bad as you snuggled up to Beel's chest, wondering if you had the courage to say you like him.
You saved the thought for another day to ponder later.

SIT ON ME
a/n: heavily inspired of the time when a girl actually asked him the question i used in this fic lmao. also maybe a part 2 might be good for this? let me know if you’re interested in one!
pairing: Sebastian Stan X Assistant!Reader
word count: 1.5k
masterlist
Tumblr media
Fixing the collar of his shirt one last time you pat on his hard chest, breathing out shortly as your eyes flicker up to meet his icy blue gaze that was already examining you.
“Just try to… not say anything stupid, okay?” you tell him, hopeful that he will take you seriously just once, though in the back of your mind you already know it goes in one ear and slips out the other usually.
Sebastian nods, a small, coy smile tugging on his lips as you fold your arms on your chest, checking the time on the clock on the wall across you, only minutes until they are going on stage. It’s another day, another panel, you have no idea what the event is called anymore, you lost track of even which city you are at right now. You’ve been on the road for weeks now, going from one hotel to the other, jumping from events to appearances, trying not to lose your head, because if you do, that means Sebastian’s head is lost too. Being a personal assistant means that you’re responsible for two people at the same time, you can’t afford falling apart.
“Five minutes, everyone!” a man shouts as he runs down the hallway and Mackie drops a joke about him, but you don’t really catch it, because Seb’s hand touches your waist as the two of you wait patiently for the start.
“Can I get a good luck kiss?” he smirks down at you, leaning closer to your ear so no one can hear him, only you. His hot breath tickles your skin and you try to hide your pleasant shudder at his closeness.
You can’t push the smile down that tugs on your lips as you peek up at him, that boyish glimmer in his eyes never fails to stun you. He is such a beautiful person, inside and out and it’s hard to resist his charm when all he does is trying to wrap you around his finger. He knows the effect he has on you and he doesn’t hesitate to use it. The relationship between the two of you has been a bit blurred these past months, you both could feel the shift when after his last birthday, drunken and totally worn off from his party, the two of you ended up sleeping in the same bed, tangled in each other. You stayed completely clothed, yet the intimacy was burning and the flame hasn’t really disappeared since then.
However you haven’t let it go farther yet, trying to maintain the slightest bit of professionalism in the midst of the madness your job is, though Sebastian doesn’t seem to care about that at all. It’s been a cat and mouse game ever since that night.
Reaching up you cup his jaw in your hand and pulling him closer you can see the surprise in his eyes when he thinks you’re about to kiss him, but then you turn his head and your lips end up on his stubbled cheek, an airy chuckle leaving his lips.
“I think you missed it,” he slyly smirks down at you, but you just roll your eyes.
“Behave, Stan,” you warn him.
The remainder of the time flies by fast and the boys walk out to the stage to the cheering crowd, taking their places, ready to answer any and every questions thrown in their way.
You watch from the sidelines, laughing with the audience every time Mackie cracks a joke, or when Sebastian gives a funny answer, you feel like one of those fans sitting in front of them, you totally understand why they are so obsessed with them. It’s hard not to love them, they are just amazing people.
“Alright, let’s see the next question!” the lady on the stage announces, turning to the girl who has the mic this time.
“Hi! I’m so happy to be here and see you guys!” the girl beams, making the men on the stage smile gratefully.
“We’re happy you’re here too!” Sebastian answers her, definitely making her blush at the sweet response.
“So my question is…” she starts, taking a deep breath. “Sebastian, this is for you. If you were a chair, who would you want to sit on you?”
The question makes the whole room erupt in laughter and you can’t hold back yours either. You can tell Seb is shocked at the blunt and quite dirty question, but you also know that he is definitely gonna answer it, no matter how inappropriate it’s going to be.
“Wow,” he chuckles into the mic, while he is trying to keep his act together, Mackie on his left is fighting back tears at this point. “What an… interesting question,” he huffs, making everyone laugh again. “Um… Okay, if I was a chair, I would want…”
His eyes wander over the crowd until they find you at the side, your gazes melting together for a split second and you already know what his answer is gonna be, just from the way the tiny wrinkles around his eyes appear. And there’s nothing you can do against it.
“I would want my assistant to sit on me,” he answers, a round of howling and screaming washing over the room as you cover your face with your hands in embarrassment. Did he really just say that? In front of all these people?
When you glance up next time, you catch his eyes again, that smug and pleased look in his face is almost annoying, knowing how much he is enjoying putting you into this situation.
“I’m going to kill you,” you mouth to him, but he just chuckles.
“Damn, Sebastian,” Mackie huffs. “You ain’t playing anymore!”
“No, no, it’s all just fun,” he explains. “I just like to tease my assistant, don’t take it seriously,” he adds, trying to save the situation, though it’s useless. His answer has been captured on hundreds of cameras and it’ll be all over the internet in a matter of time.
The conversation on stage carries on and you patiently wait for it to be over so you can murder Sebastian yourself. When they finally say goodbye and head off the stage you’re waiting for them already, trying to look serious and a bit mad about the stunt Sebastian pulled, but when his gaze meets yours you simply can’t keep up the act. You are so soft for this man, he could do about anything and you wouldn’t stay mad at him at all.
“Uh-oh, you are thinking about killing me,” he smirks, not even an ounce of regret or shame for himself present in his voice.
“I am, yeah,” you nod, arms folded on your chest as he stands in front of you, biting into his bottom lip as he cocks his head to the side.
“What can I do to earn your forgiveness?” he asks in a dramatic tone, before his hands find your upper arms, pulling you closer until your front meets his chest and he can wrap you into his embrace.
“Stop being such a flirt,” you prompt, raising your eyebrows at him.
“Oh, I don’t think I can do that, sorry.”
“Of course,” you roll your eyes at him.
When everything is said and done and you can head home, you and Sebastian make your way out, only to face the huge crowd that gathered around the building just to see a glimpse of their favorites. The car pulls up to the entrance and you follow Seb out through the crowd that’s being held back with two rows of security guards, but you need to be fast, because they are starting to lose their shit. Sebastian gets into the car and someone pushes you from behind when you are about to follow him, making you fall and end up on his lap in the car, the door shutting behind you as the driver leaves immediately.
“Shit,” you breathe out, holding onto his shoulders for leverage and his strong arms wrap around you as an instinct, catching you from falling further. A second passes and he smirks at you, arching an eyebrow at you.
“See? You did end up sitting on me,” he smugly points out and you just shake your head laughing as you climb off of him, sitting next to him on the backseat.
“If only we had HR, you’d be in so much trouble,” you warn him, though you can’t keep a straight face as you point a finger at him that he just easily grabs and pulling your hand to his lips he kisses your knuckles with a smug grin on his lips.
“Good thing it’s just you and I then,” he shrugs, keeping your hand in his hold in his lap and you don’t even try to pull it back, you just huff amused, sliding down in your seat, leaning against his arm, your head coming to rest on his shoulder. Sebastian hums contented, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head as you both ignore the elephant in the room and pretend like you can go like this forever.
But deep down you know you can’t.
Thank you for reading, please like and reblog if you enjoyed it!

The Singer Household
Summary: Courtney tries to adjust to living with Bobby
A/N: This is part 2 to Becoming a Singer. As always please be kind! :)

Adjusting to living with Bobby was hard. Don’t get me wrong, it was a lot better than what I was used to, but it was still hard. I thought it would be easier to adjust because I knew that I was safe, but it was just… different.  At Bobby’s house, I ate regularly and always had clean clothes. I didn’t have to worry whether someone would take care of me.  Bobby taught me how to cook and it was really fun. He had so many of his wife’s old cookbooks lying around so we never ran out of recipes to try. But at night, when it was quiet, that’s when things were hard.  No one talks about just how hard it is to adjust from an abusive situation. Bobby knew what it was like though. He was very patient with me. Bobby’s dad was an abusive drunk so he understood.  He knew it wasn’t going to be easy taking me in, and yet he did it anyway.
I often had nightmares that would wake me up with my own screams. Without fail,  Bobby would always come and sit with me until I was okay. Some nights we would just stay up and talk or he’d read me some of his favorite books. Sometimes we would even get up and start baking cookies.  Bobby’s cookies always made it better. He didn’t force me to talk about the nightmares.  I wasn’t ready to talk about them at first.  He let me sit with them.
The Winchester boys didn’t know that I was having nightmares or the real reason why I moved in with Bobby. I still remember the first time that they were there when a nightmare happened. They had come to stay with me and Bobby while John was out on a particularly dangerous hunt. It was the first night that they were there. All day I was worrying about what would happen that night. I was worried that they were going to find out. I was scared to fall asleep.  I tried staying up reading but it just made me even more tired. I had fallen asleep at some point and didn’t realize it. Then the dream started.
Dad was talking about the hunt he was about to leave for. I was crying and begging him not to because I knew what happened on that hunt. The hunt that changed everything. The hunt that killed him. But he wouldn’t listen to me. It was like I was talking to a statue. That was one of the worst nights of my life. That was the last time I got to hug my dad. I was a sobbing mess in the corner of the room as I watched everything happen in slow motion. After what felt like 30 seconds and an eternity, we got the call that he had died. I started crying immediately. Mom had put on the front of the mourning widow until she hung up the phone.  It took her less than a minute to drop the mask.  That’s when shit hit the fan. She started screaming at me, telling me how she regretted the day I was born. She told me I was just a burden and that I always would be. I was crying so much that I could barely breathe. It felt like there was an elephant sitting on my chest. I could just faintly hear someone screaming my name. It wasn’t Mom. The voice sounded so familiar but I just couldn’t put my finger on who it was. The voice sounded far away.
Next thing I know, I’m awake. I’m at Bobby’s. I’m safe. After I realized that I was at Bobby’s, I did in fact hear someone screaming my name. It was Sam. Sam, Dean, and Bobby had all rushed into my room after hearing me screaming and crying. Sam was sitting on the edge of the bed next to me with his hands on my shoulders. He had been shaking me trying to get me to wake up. It was silent for an eternity, aside from my sniffling, before Dean piped up and said, “Courtney, are you okay?”
I looked at Bobby and he just gave a slight nod and I knew what it meant. It meant it was time to tell them.   I cleared my throat before saying “I think it’s time I tell you guys the truth.” The boys looked between me and Bobby and Sam said, “Bobby, what does she mean?” and Dean said “Yeah, what have you not been telling us?” Bobby looked at me and said “Do you want to tell them or do you want me to?” I sat up straight in the bed and said “I think this should come from me. You guys might want to get comfortable, this is going to take a little while.”
I scooted to the middle of the bed.  Sam sat on my left and Bobby sat on my right while Dean sat at the end of the bed. And so I told them. I told them everything. I refused to look up from my lap the whole time. I was scared to see their faces. I knew how they’d be looking at me. I knew that their eyes would be full of pity. But to my surprise, when I looked up and made eye contact with Dean, his face wasn’t full of pity. It was full of anger. I looked over at Sam and he had the same look. The only difference was that Sam had tears on his face.
I looked at Bobby and saw a few tears had fallen down his cheeks. He knew how hard that was for me and he was so proud that I finally told them. It was quiet for so long. I finally spoke up and said,“Somebody please say something.” Dean cleared his throat and kinda shook his head and said, “Why didn’t you want to tell us?” I looked at them both and said, “I didn’t want you to look at me any differently. I didn’t want you to think of me as damaged goods.”
At that moment, Sam grabbed my hand from where it was resting on my lap and said, “Courtney, nothing could make us think that you were damaged goods.” Bobby spoke from beside me and said, “See kiddo, I told you that they would understand.” I nodded and smiled. I guess I had been worrying for no reason. They took it way better than I thought they would. Out of nowhere, Dean said, “I’m still confused by one thing though.” I kinda tilted my head in confusion and said, “And what’s that?”
He said, “So you’re not just clumsy? Because I’ve definitely seen you fall in the salvage yard plenty of times and you’re constantly tripping over air.” At that, I busted out laughing which then made everyone laugh. After laughing until all of our stomachs were hurting, Bobby got up and said, “Well, we’ll let you get back to sleep.” Everyone left and the boys were already halfway down the hall before I said, “Now you know that there is no way in hell that I’m going back to sleep after that.” Bobby laughed and said, “Let me guess: you either want to watch a movie or bake cookies?” I giggled and started getting out of the bed saying “Why not do both?” Dean yells from down the hall, “Did I hear something about baking cookies?” The rest of the night was spent laughing and I realized that no matter what, this was my family. This is where I belonged.

Disturbance
Tumblr media
Alfie Solomons X Reader
Summary: Alfie visits a group of sisters who recently lost a loved one and finds out that the oldest one is rather intriguing.
He’s come around again.
The morning is filled with screams and little giggles stemming from the younger ones. The kitchen’s a mess, not more so than usual as the sun quietly seeps in from the half closed blinds. Essie, the youngest of four, is screaming bloody murder as she walks around with a wooden spoon on her hand. Lily, the second youngest, isn’t much better as she runs behind her baby sister. Emily is somewhere in her room, trying to put on lipstick for the second time in her very young life.
And you’re just staring.
It hasn’t been long enough, the entire situation of you being on your own. The door knocks once more but you ignore it, trying to swallow down the knot on your throat from the conversation that’s about to come. You yell towards the upper part of the stair for Emily and scoop up Essie in your arms. Lily sits down on the sofa in the living room with milk all over her and you make a mental note of cleaning her up before opening the door.
There he is again.
He’s standing as tall as he did last week with a gentle smile on his lips, something out of pity, you gather. His golden beard shines under the morning light and Essie almost reaches out for the wiry bundle before you reposition her on your hip bone. You look up to meet his eyes, still the same broad man who’d come around during the funeral.
He reminds you of your father, which only makes you angrier about the entire ordeal but you push the thought back.
“Mornin’, lass.” he speaks, much like he has in the weeks that he’s come around.
He comes around often since the funeral and since there’s no one else to greet the gangster, you have to talk to him. You don’t shy away from his gaze but simply feel very agitated. He comes around to see if the fridge is stocked and if you’re doing okay but you figure it’ll all die down in a couple weeks once the grieving part is done.
Essie waves at him at his words and smiles, Alfie waves back with a softer smile while your unamused gaze doesn’t leave him. Your words are curt, almost rude but he knows they come from a place of anger so he doesn’t budge too much. “Have you come for a chat again?” you speak, no greeting or whatsoever but straight to the point.
“Came to fuckin’ see how you lot were’ doin’, right.” he speaks but your eyes widen at the curse words and you look down at Essie while speaking.
“Watch your mouth around her, Mr. Solomons.” you speak and open the door to let the man in.
There’s no point in fighting him, you’ve gathered. He only comes in the living room, talks to the girls for a bit and leaves. He also looks at the state of the house, not so subtly and if he ends up seeing anything missing, sends Ollie to get it for you by sundown the same day.
You don’t know if you’re thankful or annoyed.
Your father had been working with him, the shop was a joint profit source for both him and Alfie and seeing as he’s gone now, Alfie chooses to keep his promise to the dead man of looking out for his girls. He knows you’re just a kid yourself but sees the maturity your father had given you, it’s evident in the way you speak to him.
You put Essie down on the same sofa Lily was sitting a minute ago but is nowhere to be seen now. Alfie sits down next to the youngest girl and watches her, intently while you leave her with the gangster to go look for Lily. You find her under the stairs with sticky milk all over her and drag her gently by the arm towards the living room where the gangster and the little girl are having a staring contest.
He looks out of his element, and it makes you smile.
“Sit down, please.” you whisper to Lily as she settles, doesn’t fuss as much as the youngest kid and Alfie watches as you clean the sticky substance off of her hands and mouth.
“Thank you.” Lily whispers and you plant a small kiss on her forehead before going to the kitchen to clean up.
And that’s when hell breaks loose, right in front of him.
Essie starts screaming at a piece of dust, thinking it was a bug that now resides on her leg. Lily is no better, crying at a slower pace once she realizes that her sister’s upset. Emily comes down at the same minute, evidently made a mess of her lipstick with tears on her eyes as she looks for you to fix it.
And Alfie just watches.
“Oh, god.” he watches you whisper as you emerge from the kitchen with a ruined apron due to Essie’s mess she’s made in the morning.
You take Essie into your arms and kiss her leg to show that the dust was now gone. Lily wants a hug too so you take both of them in your arms, bobbing them up and down as you whisper sweet words into their ears to calm them down. Emily’s teary face comes into your vision and that’s when you tell her to go to bathroom next to the living room and that you’ll be there in a sec.
And your stare falls on him but you find that he’s already staring.
Alfie had seen you in your father’s shop for the first time, right when you’d become a young lady with rosy cheeks. You’re still a kid, he sees that but can’t help but realize the burden is now on you. Your hair is messy as you rock your little sisters, apron a mess and the dress underneath is no better. He sees the slight rings under your eyes but doesn’t say anything.
“Hold her for a minute for me, please.” you say and hand Essie to the gangster. There’s no confusion on his face, for he thought he’d have to do this at some point with the ways things had been going.
He sits Essie down on his lap and the girl giggles at the man, no longer crying like she had been just a second ago. Lily follows, murmuring nonsense questions as she climbs up the sofa to sit next to Alfie and you hear them conversing about elephants when you leave the room to get to Emily.
Once you’ve fixed the oldest one and wiped her tears away, you find Alfie on the sofa as he tells the little girls some story about a dog. You watch as Essie laughs and tugs at his beard, the man doesn’t wince but gently takes her hands in his to get it away from his face and he keeps telling on the story.
Like a damn expert.
He senses you watching and shoots a smirk your way, one that makes a light tint of blush rise up your cheeks only he can notice as Emily goes up to change her dress once more. You look at the time and realize it’s time for you to drop them off at school and go to work.
You shoot Alfie a concerned look but he looks at you for a split second as to say he’ll be fine with the kids. You nod and go to your room as quickly as you can to change. The brush is harsh against your hair as you run it through the twisted strands and ten minutes later, you’re walking into the living room, much more put together, to dress Essie for the day.
“Lily, go to the bathroom with Emily, please?” you speak to the little girl and she nods while speaking.
“Yes, ma’am.” leaves her lips and Alfie chuckles at the little girl.
The entire time, Ollie’s waiting for the boss outside.
Fifteen minutes pass: filled with screaming and cries from the inside rooms as Alfie checks the time every two minutes. Emily comes down, dressed properly with some light make-up you’d applied to her face and carries Lily down with her in a wavy blue dress. She walks towards Alfie and starts speaking, her toddler non-sense filling Alfie’s ears as Emily goes to the kitchen.
“Who are you?” Lily asks, innocence booming through her voice as Alfie looks down at the little girl.
“’m a friend, kid.” he speaks, refraining from swearing as he looks down at her brown orbs.
“Y/N’s friend?” she asks, eyes curious and Alfie realizes she has no concept of what’s going on.
“Ya’ could say that, right, but I don’t think she’d agree with ya’.” Alfie speaks, in a softer tone than usual and Lily nods as if to say she’s understood.
You walk in with Essie perched up on your lap, looking very clean and pretty as she flashes a smile at Alfie. She likes him, for whatever reason and Alfie feels fondness towards the little rascal, too. He then realizes you have changed, too. A light cream colored dress and golden earrings he makes out, face shining under the morning light as you dress the girls in their coats.
“Is there anything important you wanted to discuss, Mr. Solomons?” you speak as Emily walks out the door with Lily’s hand in hers and the driver Alfie had given you picks them up for school. Alfie watches them leave as you get ready to do the same with Essie slowly following you but before she can, Alfie takes her up in his arms and holds her with a gentle smile while you lock the door.
“That was fuckin’ mental inside, right, Is it like that every fuckin’ mornin’, lass?” he asks and you narrow your eyes at the curse word before taking Essie from her arms and start walking down the street.
“That was a quiet one, actually.” you speak with an amused voice and he mirrors your slight smile.
“Fuckin’ hell.” he whispers and you’re about to protest the cursing but he speaks before you can. “My bad, lass.”
“So?” you ask, walking towards Essie’s school as she quietly observes the man next to her. You remind Alfie of your previous question and see his eyes change for a second.
“Yeah, there ‘s actually.” he says and you nod, urging him to continue. “I got a fuc- a job for ya’, if you’re interested, pet.” he speaks and you ignore the pet name as you nod.
You already have a job but the gangster seems much more profitable to work with.
------
“You’ll pay me double?” you ask with a whisper to your tone.
You’re sitting on his office, legs crossed as he tries not to stare at your exposed calves and collarbones but fails almost miserably. His hands lock into yours then, a whiff of a smile as Ollie watches with a curious gaze. Your feet moves up and down, catching his gaze before he clears his throat.
You’re only twenty, he reminds himself as he looks at you and shakes his head to get his mind out of the gutter.
“I’ll pay ya’ fuckin’ triple, yeah, if ya’ come work for me, that ‘s.” he speaks, finally having the opportunity to curse as he wants and you nod your head before speaking.
He watches the way you wet your lips and speak, too soft for a man like him. “Are you doing it out of pity?” you ask, knowing fully well you’re going to take the job anyway but you decide on teasing him.
“I promised your father, yeah, that I’d look out for his fuckin’ girls and that’s all ‘m doin’, pet.” he says, calmer this time and watches you nod.
“I get to keep the driver?” you spoke, talking about the driver that took Emily and Lily to school every day so that you could take Essie since they went to separate schools.
“Course, right, and if ya’ fuckin’ need another one for the little one-” he starts speaking but you shake your head softly.
“That’s okay. I don’t think your men could handle her.” you speak with a wicked smile on your lips and it earns a chuckle from deep his chest.
“One driver it ‘s, then, hm?” he speaks with a smirk on his lips and you sit up, as much as you possibly can.
“I'm not keen on doing any of the dirty work.” you speak, knowing fully well what Alfie’s business included.
You’d be his secretary and keep some of his books but he’d make sure that was it. “No, lass, I got fuckin’ Ollie for that, don’t I.” he speaks and watches you nod hesitantly.
He watches as the gears in your head turn and you think about everything that goes into it. The pay, your sisters, your education and their schools as well. You think about the perks it will have and also the risks and realize this is the best offer you’ll be met with so you speak.
“When do I start?”
-----
*A month later*
“Essie, please!” your shout can be heard as Alfie follows behind with Lily in his arms. Emily has their bags as you walk out the front door of the apartment.
This has been the routine for the past two weeks. Alfie comes in, barging with a smile on his handsome face as he takes the girls into the living room so that you can clean the kitchen and get ready. While he distracts the girls, you dress them one by one and Emily gets ready on her own and hops into the car with Lily.
“What happened?” you ask Essie as she cries, wails almost like a little baby in your arms after her sisters have left.
She screams then and Alfie winces before taking her in his arms and the moment he does that, she hushes. You scoff at the act, not liking that your baby sister has taken a liking to a gangster but it doesn’t matter as long as she’s quiet.
“Sorry.” you whisper as Alfie puts her in the car and gets in himself too, after offering his hand to you as help to get in the big machine.
“No fuckin’ need, pet.” he speaks and looks down at Essie in your arms. You look much too young to be having all this on you but he knows it’s not by choice. “Not your fault she screams like a fuckin’ banshee, aye?” he asks and earns a smile and a nod from you.
He’s grown fond of you, he thinks.
He watches you each day as you walk around his bakery with a faint smile on your lips, all the men have grown fond of you in the span of a month and he feels the need to gauge anyone’s eyes when they look at you. He’s seen you at work, smarter than any other bookkeeper he’s had and he thinks if you were given the opportunity, you’d be someone very important.
He also sees you with your sisters. He sees the mother hen in you as you shout at them, gentle afterwards as you wipe their tears from their faces. He sees the kid in you as well, as you become a kid with them every morning when you play with them but he sees the weight of it too.
He then stops the car after you drop of Essie, parking it on the sidewalk and doesn’t get out.
You throw a curious stare his way, eyebrows furrowed and a pretty pout at your lips as you look at him. Your words are measured when you speak but you’re more sure of yourself. “Something wrong?”
His heart sinks.
You’ve made him so weak in the short span of a month and he marvels at that. A thought crosses his mind as he turns to look at you, only to find your curious orbs staring right back at him.
“I want ya’ to take some time off, lass.” he speaks and hears you scoff.
“Mr. Solomons-”
“’s Alfie.”
“Mr. Solomons, it’s only been a month since I started and I don’t see why I should take time off.” you speak with a curt tone and he sees the anger wash your features. Fuck she looks pretty when she’s angry.
“It’s a fuckin’ order, yeah, it ‘s.” he nods at his words and watches you look at him suspiciously.
“Why?” you ask, genuinely curious as to why this man was pushing you to take time off.
“With your fuckin’ sisters and all that ya’ gotta take care of, right, ‘m allowin’ ya’ to take some time off..” he trails off and meets your eyes once more. “..for yourself.”
But you don’t want it.
You conclude, after the first week of working for him, that you like being around the gangster. He’s intriguing to say the least, stubborn and absolutely cruel but not to you, only to those who need it. He’s been nothing but kind to you, gave you everything you asked for and checks on the girls regularly, along with helping you in the mornings.
“Can I trade the days for something else?” you ask after a while, he smiles at your words and the way your mind works before nodding at you.
“Go on.” his voice is heard inside the vehicle before you speak.
“Get me housekeeper for a few weekdays instead, I’d much rather have that than a few days off.” you say with confidence and he laughs, nodding at your words.
“The house needs a proper fuckin’ cleanin’, lass. It does.” he laughs and you join him.
“I know and it’d be much more helpful.” you speak and notice him stilling for some reason.
He wants to say something.
You’ve grown accustomed to his behavior now. The way he shouts when he’s frustrated or the way his eyebrows lower down a bit when he’s confused. If they shoot up, it means he’s interested and if he tugs at his beard, it means he’s contemplating.
“Ask me.” you say, voice a mere whisper this time as you look at him with curious eyes.
“There’s a match, yeah-” he starts speaking without looking at your eyes and you cut him off, out of morbid curiosity.
“A match?” you ask, sweetly and he swears he’s about to kiss you right there but holds himself back.
“A boxing fight, yeah, my fuckin’ cousin is in it and I was wonderin’, yeah, if ya’ want to accompany me, lass?” he speaks, treading lightly as you measure the words.
You don’t know if he’s asking you out or not, you don’t have enough experience to know the lines between pleasure and business.
“Uh...who’s going to watch the girls?” you ask, the first excuse that comes to your mind.
“Ollie will fuckin’ watch ‘em, pet, he will.” he says, a seed of hope planted on his chest since you didn’t say no, not just yet.
You nod at his words and smile a little after and he swears he’s going to lose his breath. You look up at him through your lashes and speak with a playful tone before getting out of the car to get into the distillery.
“I’ll let you know at the end of the day.”

Note
Heya. I know that requests are closed and I totally respect if you ignore this because of that. Two hours ago my dog had a seizure and my mom and I are currently in the parking lot of the emergency vet waiting for an update. I’m normally “the rock” for my family (if that makes sense) when shit hits the fan, so I feel like I need to hide my panic so my mom doesn’t worry more. I claimed to need to use the restroom (there’s those portable bathrooms outside) but I’m actually just having a panic attack on a stairway nearby. Most of my friends are asleep or offline right now so I don’t have anyone to help ground me. I know my mom would, but she’s already dealing with enough. Your writing has never failed to calm me down or cheer me up, so I was wondering if you could maybe make headcannons or something about how texts or a quick phone call with the SBI would go and how they would help a teen friend who’s going through this situation.
I don’t want you to feel pressured to do this because of guilt or anything of the sort. I understand that requests are closed, but I thought it was worth shooting my shot. So it’s completely okay if you ignore this.
(A/N): I wrote this as fast as I could, so there might be a few mistakes here and there. I really hope your dog gets better soon and nothing major is wrong with them, I’ll keep you guys in my thoughts. If you wanna talk about it, my DMs are always open love <3
Warnings: mentions of dog seizures, vets, panic attacks
Your pleasant day had gone so wrong so fast
You had a blast hanging out with your neighbor and childhood friend Techno and his brothers
You spent most of the day at the park hanging out and generally goofing around
That was until you received a phone call from your mother
She was in a panic telling you to come home, telling you that there was something wrong with your dog
You quickly excused yourself by telling them that your mom wanted you home as soon as possible suddenly and ran home in tears when you were out of their line of sight
When you were running you could feel yourself being filled with dread
Your chest felt tight as you fought off a panic attack, you needed to be strong for your mom
You were her rock
It was only natural to comfort her, she helped you so much with your anxiety and panic attacks even when facing her own troubles and stress
So you did your best to stifle your panic
When you got home, you could hear the loud sobbing of your mother, the faint sound of heavy breathing, and rustling
The sight in the living room broke your heart
Your beloved pet was on the floor having a violent seizure while your mother was looking on in horror
You quickly took action, moving the stuff around the dog away from it
The only thing you could do was wait it out, so you made quick work of comforting your mother
After the seizure, your dog was looking around confusedly and whining slightly
He seemed very tired
Doing some research, you found out that it was best to let the dog rest after such a seizure because it takes a lot of energy out of it
The nearest emergency vet was about ten minutes away so you picked up your dog and escorted your mom to the car
You drove to the vet, your mom was too distraught to drive
The vet immediately took him in and got to work, leaving you and your mom in the car waiting for an update on the pooch
She had calmed down for the most part, but you could still feel the panic brewing in your chest threatening you with a full blown panic attack
You held it off so you could be strong for your mother, but you were spiraling and fast
When it got to the point where you couldn’t hold it back anymore, you quickly excused yourself to the portable bathrooms
You ducked into an abandoned staircase and the panic attack quickly reared its ugly head
Your breaths came out in short hyperventilations, your chest feeling like an elephant was sat on it
You couldn’t breathe
When it got to the point where you were dry heaving, you knew that this one wasn’t one that you could calm yourself down from
You had to call someone
Your mom was immediately out of question, even if she would gladly help you
In your point of view, she had enough to worry about
Your best bet would be to call Techno
You had extreme difficulty finding his contact because your vision was tunneled and blurred and your hands were shaking, but you eventually found it
He and his brothers should still be at the park
You felt guilty for calling, but you knew you needed help and Techno and his brothers were your best bet
“Hey (y/n), uh is everything alright with your mom? You left in a hurry.” Techno saw his twin and Tommy look at him in question. He wove them off.
He was only met with heavy breathing and sobbing from your end, which worried him to no end. He knew damn well about your anxiety and panic attacks, in fact he was the one that encouraged you to open up to your mom about it and ask her for therapy sessions. He’s calmed you down from enough panic attacks to know exactly what to do to help you.
“Hey you’re alright,” he cooed to you in a soft voice, “take deep breaths. Where are you?” His brothers looked at him in alarm. They also knew about your panic attacks as you were basically like another sibling to them. Wilbur grabbed the car keys and the three made a dash towards the family car.
“Techno…” Your breathless and strained whimper on the other end made his heart break for you. “Where are you?”
When you told him that you were at the nearby emergency vet, he could feel his heart sink. Your dog was growing older and older and his health was declining. That dog was with you two through thick and thin when your family got him in middle school. You were seniors in high school now, so that dog was old for his breed.
“We’re on our way, just hang on tight buddy. What’re five things you can see?”
After you got through the 5-4-3-2-1 technique, you still were in the midst of an intense panic attack and it worried Techno to no end. Usually you would be calmed down by now. Luckily, they arrived at the vet and quickly found a parking space.
You could hear running coming towards you and looked up to see the brothers running towards you. Techno kneeled next to you and attempted to give you a smile, “we’re here. Is it okay for me to touch you?” At your nod, he grabbed your hand and put it on his chest. “Breathe with me, okay? Do you think you can do that for me?” You didn’t respond to him. Your hazy eyes darted to his face when he gently called your name and asked you again. You nodded making him smile at you, “good, we’re gonna do the 4-7-8 breathing technique,” he told you softly, “do you remember that? You breathe in through your nose for four seconds, hold it for seven, and exhale slowly through your mouth for eight. I’ll do it with you,” he took in a deep breath through his nose and you tried to follow suit but failed. Your breathing was just too erratic.
“Tech, I-I can’t. I…”
“Hey you can do this, I know you can. Let’s try again, it takes time to even out breathing.” He said something to his brothers you couldn’t hear and they ran off. “Deep breath in,” he breathed in and you tried to follow him, “hold,” you held in the breath for about two seconds, “and out,” the breath ripped itself from your lungs. “You’re doing so good, I’m proud of you (y/n).”
The breathing continued for a bit with you getting nowhere before you heard the boys return. They had a couple of ice cold water bottles in their hands. Techno let go of your hand and grabbed one of them. He turned to you with an encouraging smile, “okay, we’re gonna try something new. I’m gonna have you touch this, is that alright?”
You reached out with a shaky hand to touch the plastic and jolted slightly at the temperature, a gasp ripping itself from your lungs and your eyes focusing slightly better than before. “I’m gonna run this up and down your arms, focus on the feeling of the temperature and the feeling.” As he ran the bottle down your arms, you could feel your heart rate drop at the temperature and your heated skin cooling down. Your breathing eventually evens itself out leaving you panting and shakily reaching up to wipe at your tears.
“Are you good now?” You nodded and leaned against the brick wall tiredly. An open water bottle was put into your hands. You drank it and relished in the feeling of the ice cold drink slithering down your throat. It even heightened your senses.
Wilbur sat on your other side and slung an arm over your shoulders, giving you a side hug. Tommy sat across from you while Techno sat on your other side holding your hand, lazily rubbing his thumb over your knuckles.
“Do you wanna talk about what caused this?” You nodded and told the three everything that happened today and why you were at an emergency vet.
After you finished telling them, Wilbur turned to give you a full hug. Your face was against his chest, faintly you noted that he smelled like grass with hints of earth. “He’s gonna be alright. He’s a fighter, do you remember when he ate that bee?” You nodded, remembering that even if he was swollen, his tail was still wagging and he was as happy as he could be. He recovered quickly from that, never once losing his excited and loving personality. You thought about how even in the car he was licking away your mother’s tears and nuzzling into your hand even though he was exhausted.
“That dog has lived through so much health shit,” Tommy chimed in, “a seizure isn’t gonna take him out anytime soon.”
They stayed there for a while with you giving you reassurances and reminiscing on stories of him until you felt better
Eventually you had to go back to the car to wait with your mother, so they left to go to their house
Your dog was returned to you and your mom with the instruction to give him some medicine and come back for further examination
They didn’t find the cause for the seizure, which bothered you but relieved you that he was alright
When you got home, it was late at night and you honestly felt so drained
The next day, your dog was still slightly tired but he was slowly returning to his playful nature as the day progressed
When you were laying in the grass in the backyard with him reading a book, you saw Techno poke his head over the fence and smile at you. “Hey, how’s (dog name)?”
You ran your fingers through his fur as he slept peacefully, “he’s doing better. The vet still doesn’t know what’s going on with him, but he’s still himself.”
“We’re having some cookies and lemonade over here, do you wanna come over? (Dog name) can come too.”
“You’re more than welcome, (y/n)!” You could hear Philza’s voice chime out from their backyard. You got up and (dog name) followed you into their backyard slowly. They were sitting at the picnic table that was there since you and Techno were kids. The paint had long since chipped and faded with each year that passed. Tommy loudly cheered while Wilbur and Philza gave you gentle smiles as you walked next to Technoblade.
You sat next to Techno and a glass of lemonade was placed in front of you. (Dog name) laid at your feet and resumed his nap. You grabbed a cookie and took a bite, humming at the taste of your favorite flavor dancing across your tongue.
Being with the family was something that always made your worries fade away into nothingness and get replaced by lighthearted and refreshing happiness. You spent most of the day laughing with the family and petting your sleeping dog. Everything was going to be okay with them.

Tumblr media
Despite his frustration with finding out he was breaking way more than just company protocol, Bucky’s attitude simmered and eventually fizzled out as the day went on. You’d bet seeing you uncomfortably directing security where to put your lab equipment while Bucky’s cum stuck to the inside of your thighs had an impact on his mood.
The rest of the day went by surprisingly well, all things considered. You took the day to set up your at-home lab while Steve got groceries and cooked, Sam installed security cameras in all the common areas, and Bucky searched your place for any bugs or wires. No one was weird about things, aside from Bucky when you first arrived. Sam was his usual goofy self and Steve was a dad stereotype.
That night, however, Steve sat everyone down in your living room for a little chat. Steve and Sam sat on the sofa across from you and Bucky, almost like they were concerned parents talking to you before sending you to prom.
“Okay, time to address the elephant in the room. Who knew about who you are before it was leaked?” Steve asked, elbows propped on his knees and that signature crease between his brows.
“Other than dad, Pepper, Rhodey, and Happy, just Monique,” you shrugged. “But it wasn’t her. She has nothing to gain from telling anyone.”
“Well, unfortunately we’ll have to look into her anyway,” Steve sighed. “But if it’s not her, it won’t be a problem. And you’re sure there’s no one else?”
“What about that boyfriend of yours?” Sam asked.
“It’s not him,” you said meekly. “I never told him.”
“Are you sure he couldn’t have found out?” Sam pressed.
“Yeah, I’m sure.”
Sam nodded but added, “We should still talk to the guy —”
“I didn’t know,” Bucky interrupted from beside you.
Sam looked confused, but Steve next to him was smirking, clearly trying to hold back a laugh.
“What?” Sam asked.
Bucky leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees, his stance wide and fingers intertwined in the middle. If the situation wasn’t so serious, you’d be even more turned on.
“I didn’t know,” he repeated with a forced, tight-lipped smile. “I found out this morning and I was just as shocked as you were.”
“I said I was sorry!” you groaned, tossing your arms in the air in exasperation.
Bucky leaned back to wrap an arm around your shoulders and pull you into his side. When he slid his arm over your neck, you instinctively gripped his forearm but the giggle you let out showed you weren’t trying to pry him off you.
While you wiggled in Bucky’s grasp to get comfortable, Sam’s eyes darted between the two of you in a mix of shock and curiosity.
“Man, how the hell did you get a girl like that?!”
Steve finally let his laugh out at this. Bucky just tightened his arm around your throat, making you moan quietly, just barely loud enough for him to hear.
“Trust me, she’s a pain in the ass,” Bucky teased. You giggled again and squirmed out of his grasp to straddle his legs, now that everyone in the room knew your secret.
“You can always be a pain in my ass,” you smirked as you draped your arms over his shoulders and scooted forward so your pelvis was pressed against him. He groaned in frustration and tossed his head back, gripping your ass cheeks in an attempt to ground himself.
“You better watch your mouth before I fuck you right here, right now, princess,” he practically growled. You bit your lip to tease him just a little bit more. He had only called you ‘princess’ twice but it was definitely doing something for you.
“I hate to be a buzzkill,” Sam started, “but her dad would skin you alive if he heard you saying that.”
“And then filet what’s left if he saw this,” Steve added.
“Bucky’d probably taste pretty good though,” Sam shrugged. “Especially if we got to the thighs.”
“Yeah, I’d go for the thighs,” Steve agreed, making Bucky roll his eyes.
“I’d go for something else,” you piped in.
“Okay, let’s end this before it gets out of hand,” Steve said. You frowned but plopped back onto the couch next to Bucky instead of on top of him.
The rest of the night was spent mapping out who knew about you, who might’ve figured it out, and what any of those people would’ve gotten out of leaking your secret. You adamantly ruled Monique out; she didn’t need the money or the attention and already knew the type of stress your secret put on you. And her concerned texts begging you to believe it wasn’t her and vowing to castrate whoever told the media helped support your case. Unfortunately, it led to a lot of dead ends. You knew it couldn’t have been Happy, Rhodey, or Pepper, but that left literally no one as a suspect.
Halfway across town, your dad, Rhodey, Happy, Pepper, and Bruce were going over their own documents and information to get to the bottom of it. None of the news stations were willing to divulge their source, claiming it was “anonymous” so they didn’t know who said it, but Tony wasn’t convinced. He was worried about you, but he also knew your temporary roommates were solid protection for you.
He just didn’t know the additional protection you’d need with one of those roommates.
•
Bucky was always great about your period. It usually only lasted a few days because of your birth control and was on the light side, but he had no issue with laying down one of his “safety towels” before laying you down during those three days. He even set reminders in his phone so he knew to be prepared. So when his reminder popped up on what was usually your final day, he walked in with a towel while you lounged in bed, but he was confused at your own confusion.
“Why do you have a towel?” you laughed.
“Babe,” he whined. It amused you to no end when the big bad Winter Soldier whined at you. “I’m horny.”
You laughed again as he tossed the towel onto the bed beside you and settled his weight between your legs.
“Okay? Why does that involve a towel?”
Bucky furrowed his eyebrows at you.
“Aren’t you on your period?”
It only took one second for the realization to make your breath catch in your throat. It took one more second for Bucky’s entire body to grow tense.
“You’re on your period, right?” he asked. The urgency in his voice did nothing but stress you out more. You pulled your body out from under his and ran into your bathroom, rummaging through the drawers looking for an old test you were sure you had lying around somewhere. You had personally only ever taken one as a joke, but you knew Britt had panicked and taken more than a couple at your place before she got married.
“[Y/N].” Bucky’s voice behind you as you crouched on your bathroom floor made you pause your searching. “Talk to me,” he pressed.
You didn’t look at him as you spoke.
“I’m late.”
He let out a huff behind you but quickly crouched beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders because if he thought he was scared, he couldn’t imagine what you were feeling.
“Okay. We’ll go pick up a test and cross our fingers in the meantime,” he said quietly.
“How are we supposed to get a pregnancy test, James? Everyone knows who I am now,” you snapped.
You hated how easily you could tear up because you didn’t want to cry over your situation, but the stress hit you too quickly for any other reaction to kick in first.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” you muttered quickly, pawing at your face to wipe away stray tears. “I’ll call Monique and have her pick one up.”
“Okay.” Bucky was treading lightly, you could tell. “Do you want to be alone or do you want me to stay with you?”
You bit your lip and took a deep, shaky breath to push more tears back.
“I think I want you to stay.”
Bucky let you sit between his legs while you called Monique.
“Hey, what’s up?” she answered almost immediately.
“I need you to come over,” you said, trying and failing to cover the panic in your voice.
“What’s going on? Are you okay?” You could hear rustling in the background and knew she was already sliding on shoes to rush over.
“I kind of need you to pick something up for me.”
“Anything.”
“Um… I need you to grab a pregnancy test.”
“A preg—” she paused. “A… okay, yeah, I’ll pick that up and swing by soon.”
“Thanks, Momo,” you replied quietly, tossing out the nickname you gave her after you two rewatched Avatar: The Last Airbender a couple years prior.
“See you soon, love you,” she said as you heard the slam of her door.
“Love you.”
True to her word, Monique knocked on your front door less than 20 minutes later. Since Steve and Sam practically interrogated her just a couple days before, they didn’t hesitate to let her in. She proved she wasn’t one to just let them toss around unsubstantiated accusations.
“Hey booboo,” she cooed as she stepped into your room. “I grabbed three different brands just to be safe and threw in a bottle of sparkling grape juice and a bottle of champagne, depending on what results we get.”
You couldn’t help but finally laugh at the cross between a cringe and a smile on her face. You practically lunged off the bed to give her a hug. She held you a second longer than usual and started leading you to your bathroom. When Bucky started to follow, she turned sharply.
“Uh-uh. You stay put. You’re the whole reason this is happening.”
“Monique, it takes two,” you chuckled behind her.
“And he’s the one who ejaculated in you.” You scoffed and grabbed her arm to tug her into the bathroom with you.
“We’ll be out in a few minutes.”
Bucky loved seeing how easily your best friend could immediately lift your spirits, but hated being sequestered in the bedroom.
The minutes ticked by even slower for you. Monique tried to keep you occupied as your phone and her phone counted down until the results would appear. One only took three minutes but the other two took five, so you anxiously stared at the three-minute test lying face-down on the sink until Monique’s phone beeped.
You breathed out an early sigh of relief at the test that read “NOT PREGNANT.”
“Two more,” Monique reminded you.
Those last two minutes felt even longer than the first three. But once your phone dinged, you and Monique each grabbed one of the two remaining tests. Judging by Monique’s squeal, you had the same results. You peeked over just to make sure and barreled through the bathroom door, startling Bucky as he sat on the edge of the bed.
“Not pregnant!” you screamed in excitement.
You ran and tackled him, sending him onto his back on the bed.
“Do I need to remind you two what caused this in the first place?” Monique laughed behind you two.
All of your heads turned when your bedroom door swung open to reveal both Steve and Sam looking even more concerned than usual.
“Did you just say what I think you said?!” Steve asked.
“What do you think I said?” you asked, sitting up onto Bucky’s lap.
“We heard ‘I’m pregnant’!” Sam shouted.
“Not pregnant!” you clarified and held up the test you were still gripping. “No babies yet.”
“Yet?” Bucky parroted.
“Uh… yeah…?” you replied hesitantly.
It was something that seemed so far into the future for you two that you never discussed it, but you did want a kid or two someday. And judging by the scare you just had, it was something you should probably discuss soon, just in case.
But Bucky’s reaction pretty much answered your unspoken question. He moved a hand to the back of your neck and pulled you down for a forceful, heated kiss. He easily slid his tongue into your mouth and squeezed your ass — until Monique cleared her throat.
“You should probably use these next time,” she said as she tossed a box of condoms at you.
Bucky pulled away quick enough to catch the box before it hit you, but the rest of the room still laughed at your expense.
“You really like giving Stark a reason to kill you, don’t you?” Sam asked Bucky, who groaned out loud and collapsed back on the bed.
“I didn’t know!”
•
That night as you and Bucky were lying in bed — just a couple hours after your period finally started — you forced your nerves away and asked the big question.
“Hey, what were you feeling today? Before I took the tests, I mean.”
Bucky continued to stroke your arm, unfazed by the topic.
“Initially, fear. And then the more time passed, the more that fear turned into... excitement, I guess? I mean, I always wanted kids back in the day, but now I’m kind of worried, you know?”
“Why?” you prodded, propping yourself up on Bucky’s chest so you could look directly at him. He propped his head up with his hand to look back at you.
“Do I need to remind you that I was the deadliest assassin in the world 10 years ago?” he smirked.
“Well yeah, but not anymore!” you smiled back. “You’re my Bucky Bear now.”
“Mm, keep saying cute shit like that and I’ll actually get you pregnant next time.”
You giggled at this but shook your head.
“Monique got us condoms for a reason.”
“Do you want to use one now?” Bucky smirked.
“I gotta be totally honest,” you started slowly. You felt weird saying this but, “I don’t think I want to use them at all.” That cute little wrinkle popped up between Bucky’s eyebrows as he silently questioned your answer. “I just… I like feeling you.”
You swung a leg over his body to straddle him and pressed your body to his. Your lips attached to his neck before trailing up to his ear.
“I’m not against them if you want to use them,” you said softly. “But you should make that decision soon.”
He made up his mind real quick.

warnings: none
summary:  Seeing your ex-boyfriend, Taehyung, in the crowd as you perform brings an onslaught of emotions.
--♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡--
Feeling the lights of Seoul Olympic Stadium shine onto you, you couldn’t help but feel that you’d finally accomplished your dreams.
Winning a daesang, performing at the MAMA’s, what more could a girl ask for? Anyone would be lucky to have a fraction of the success that you have had and you definitely felt grateful. However, you couldn’t shake the sense of longing as you looked out into the crowd. Especially as you saw his face.
Continuing to sing, you couldn’t help but reminiscence as you sang the lyrics you write about him.
I should be over all the butterflies but I'm into you
You could still remember the way it felt to have his arms wrapped around you. The way he’d wake you up with forehead kisses and beg for you to stay in bed with him the whole day. The way he’d sing for you by the waterfront with the moon as the only witness to your love.
And even baby our worst nights, I'm into you
Then you remembered the fights. The way he’d storm out of your apartment at 2am going to god knows where. The way he’d leave you broken and alone, sobbing on your kitchen floor. The way he’d make you cry for days on end.
Let 'em wonder how we got this far, 'Cause I don't really need to wonder at all
The 3 years you spent with him seemed to pass by in an instant as you replay all your memories. The way you acted like a shy schoolgirl when you first met him. The way he used to surprise you with flowers and call you my “forever”. But then things changed. You don’t know how, or why. But the sweet texts started to dwindle, the arguments started to get bigger. Things got out of hand.
Yeah, after all this time I'm still into you
He was your first love. You don’t think you’ll ever forget him. You hope he’ll never forget you.
You only hoped that all those emotions came across as you locked eyes with him in the crowd. The whole performance seemed like a blur as the memories flooded through your system, you almost couldn’t believe that it had flown by so fast. The cathartic experience of being able to belt those lyrics out not only to the world, but to him, made it feel like a weight had been lifted off your chest.
The song soon came to an end and you could hear the roaring crowd giving you a standing ovation on all sides. There was only one person’s reaction that you truly cared about though.
Taehyung was right there at a table by the front of the stage, looking you in the eyes and clapping while a soft smile graced his face. You wondered if he was feeling all those memories that you felt too.
-♡-
As the hustle and bustle of the awards show died down, the adrenaline was still pumping through your veins as you were with your team preparing to go home. Whispering a quick message to your manager, you left to quickly run to the bathroom.
People usually fled from awards shows as fast as they could, so it was no surprise that the hallway was completely empty, the only sounds you could hear being the cheers of fans lingering outside the venue and some idols doing interviews.
Until you could also hear him. He came out of a room like a surprising gust of wind, blowing himself right into your path.
Coming face to face with him made your breath get caught in your chest.
“Y/N,” he spoke softly, as if he was afraid his words would shatter you.
“hi, taehyung”
You don’t know what you expected when you thought of meeting Taehyung here. You didn’t even know how he’d felt about you since you broke up. For all you know, he could hate you.
You and Taehyung made a point to only talk about pleasantries and regular things : the weather, JYP’s risque performance today (it made you both the tiniest bit uncomfortable), and the rest of the awards show. But soon, the small-take came to an end, and neither of you seemed willing to deal with the elephant in the room. Feeling the conversation come to a natural end, you didn’t know how or what to make of anything. Taking one last gaze at Taehyung, as if trying to keep a mental photo of him that you could treasure forever, you said what you thought would be your last words to him.
“Goodbye, Taehyung.”
It was stupid really. There was another awards show next week and you’re sure that even if you used every bone in your body to try and keep yourself away from him, fate would probably find a way to make you meet. But with the performance today, the look you shared, something felt final. Something felt like goodbye.
Turning around, you continued on your route back to your dressing room. Not hearing Taehyung’s footsteps moving the other way, you couldn’t stop yourself from taking yourself
What you didn’t know was that Taehyung’s internal monologue was begging him to say something to you. He had almost let you slip away without saying anything, but now that he had an opportunity since you had turned around again he couldn’t stop the words from pouring out of his mouth.
“I’m still into you,” he professed almost breathlessly, as if the confession took the wind out of him.
You froze in your place. There’s no way he said what he thought you did… right? You couldn’t stop your jaw from slightly dropping open.
“What did you just say?” you said, with an air of franticness but also hesitancy in your voice.
“I’m the one that the song “still into you” is about, right?”
Right. That definitely made much more sense than what you thought he said.
“Uh, yeah” you said as you cleared your throat - “so I guess I should say thank you for the Billboard #1 or something,”  You tried to muster up a laugh to clear the awkwardness with the joke, but you don’t think it worked very well.
Taehyung looked at you sheepishly.
“I know how much of a dream that was for you, so I’m happy for you. You deserve it.” he professed, failing to hide his pride in your accomplishments.
It was good to know that he still remembered all those little moments you all shared together. It was funny, there was a time where you and Taehyung were lying in bed, talking about your dreams and he said that he would walk all the way from Seoul to Busan to get a Billboard #1 for you. I guess in a way, he did help get you that #1.
You felt a pang of longing as you looked at him across from you. Although you and Taehyung were physically the closest that you had been in months, you couldn’t help but feel farther than ever from him.
Your phone dinging brought you back to the fact that you should be with your manager giving interviews right now.
As you turned away from him, continuing back to your initial trek back to your dressing room, you heard him speak one more time.
“Are you- “
He took an audibly deep breath.
“Are you still into me, Y/N?”
It seemed like time stopped for the two of you. The sounds of the backstage had faded into nothingness and all you could hear was the sound of your pounding heart and Taehyung's laboured breaths. Taehyung truly was asking the million dollar question . You had imagined this scenario so many times, but you had not managed to prepare yourself for what this moment would feel like.
Turning around, you began to speak.
“Yknow Tae, I thought for the longest time that I was. It took me a really long time to think about this, to figure this all out. When we first broke up I didn’t even understand why it was happening. But now I see it all, I think.”
You paused to collect yourself and look him deep in his eyes.
“So no, Kim Taehyung, I’m not into you anymore. But thank you for everything you taught me, and I’ll cherish the memories we had together forever.”
Taehyung nodded in understanding. You could see the gears turning in his head and you don’t blame him  - this whole interaction was a lot of process.
“I get it, I think. I don’t know what we both would be like if we were still together, but I’m so proud of the person that you’ve become and I’m really happy for both of us. I know things between us are different and will never be the same, but I’m always going to be your fan.”
You couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face. No matter what happened between you and Taehyung, his opinion still meant the world to you.
Grinning responsively, Taehyung continued.
“This doesn’t have to end here yknow, with whatever we are. I get that we’re not meant to be Y/N, but I’d like for us to be friends if that’s possible.”  spoke Taehyung meekly, feeling shy at the admission of his request.
What Taehyung was asking for was a lot. Welcoming him back into your life seemed like a very scary situation. You didn’t know what to expect. The whole time Taehyung and you were dating, he felt like your best friend, but you’d never actually been just best friends with him. Was that even possible? Before making any choices, you left Taehyung carry on.
“Plus, the boys miss your tuna kimbap. I’ve tried copying your recipe but they yell at me for messing this up every time.”
You feigned a look of shock.
“I see your ulterior motives right now, Tae. This was all about kimbap?” you accused with a fake look of judgement.
For a second there you saw Taehyung’s face tighten up with shock and anxiety.
“No I-. Like-, Um, I just-”
“Tae, I’m joking with you. Chill out”
Taeyhung’s melodic laughter (which you desperately missed) rang through the hallway. It felt good for both of you to be joking around like this, and you almost swore the room got brighter as the tension between you two cleared.
Giving your manager a quick text to tell her you weren’t doing any more interviews tonight, you had snuck away in Taehyung’s car to drive the boys’ dorm, making a quick stop for groceries on the way.
The cheers that you heard as the boys saw you walk through that joy made your heart swell with joy. No matter what happened with you and Taehyung romantically, you knew that these seven boys were like a family to you. And families fight, families argue, and families disagree, but above all, families are always there for each other. And watching all the boys’ faces stuffed with your tuna kimbap, laughter and conversation freely flowing across the table, there was no place you’d rather be.

This is my first headcanon ever. It's kind of a headcanon anyway.. This is how I think the Feral Boys would react to (f!) Reader getting mad over something stupid while she's on her period.

Dream
It was about midday and {Y/n} had to force herself to get out of bed to retrieve food. She decided she would get cereal and return straight to her blankets. Once in the quite kitchen, she reached up in a cabinet and grabbed a bowl, however she accidentally set it down way too hard and the brittle glass bowl shattered everywhere.
She was absolutely enraged. All she wanted was a bowl of cereal and *this* is what she gets? It didn't take long after to hear the thomping footsteps of her boyfriend coming down the stairs to see what the commotion was about. {Y/n} stood with her arms crossed, about to make a move for the broom. "Fucking damnit." She cursed, unbelievably mad at the smallest event.
Dream ended up beating {Y/n} to the broom, sweeping up the shards of glass that littered the tile. He was being extremely careful and thinking his words over before speaking. He knew she was in her period, and that meant she gets angered easily and doesn't like being clung onto by anyone during the week. However, he recognized that she still appreciates his presence.
He steps a little closer, giving a small forehead kiss to his girlfriend before resuming the cleaning. "Baby, if you want too, you can lay in my bed while I edit. I'll clean this up and bring you some cereal." He suggested. "How did you know I even wanted cereal?" She asked. "Because, that's normally what you crave." He answered. She thought for a moment before deciding to take him up on his offer. "Thank you, baby." She mutters before heading upstairs.
George
The relationship between {Y/n} and George was still fairly new, this being their third month together. Therefore, he still isn't exactly sure what his girlfriend needs during her special time of the month. However, he's sort of getting the idea. It's just a bit tricky for him to know for sure when she's going through it, because she doesn't tell a soul. She leaves them guessing, taking pride in it even.
But this time was a little different. She was laying down in bed, trying to read the book "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen, when the realization struck her that she was currently using her last (pad/tampon/other). She didn't want to leave her bed, much less her house. She angrily closed her book and slammed in down on the nightstand, thinking over her options in her mind.
George just happened to be passing by her door whenever she slammed her book. It startled him a little, but he entered her room nonetheless. Although she heard him come in, she refused to tear her focus away from her thoughts. George knew something was up a couple days ago. The possibility of her monthly happening was a thought, but he wasn't 100% sure.
"Is everything okay?" He asked, walking over to the edge of the bed before sitting down. "No." She immediately answers, crossing her arms over her chest. She still didn't really want to give in that easily, though. She still had her pride, despite her situation. "What happened?" He wondered. "Nothing." She replied, avoiding his careful gaze.
"C'mon, Love, we both know that isn't true." He says, softening his tone of voice. She almost instantly melts into his stare. She huffs out a breath, however desperate to keep her silence. He treads lightly, brushing a strand of messy hair from her face, whilst caressing her cheek in the meantime. She finally gives way, breaking through to him as if a dam just broke. "Fine." She states.
He smiles, knowing he won without asking the question that would set him up for failure. "I'm on my last (pad/tampon/other) and I don't want to leave the house." She explained. George breaks into a small fit of laughter. "Was it really something that simple? That's nothing compared to what I thought was wrong. But I can get you what you need, Love." He says, after narrowly avoiding a harsh glare. "Would you like anything else while I'm gone?" He wonders. "Hm.. Maybe some chocolate... Please." She answers. He nods before giving her a swift kiss.
Sapnap
Sapnap.. Is quite the special case, to say the least. He does n o t pick up on hints very well... Which leaves him very lost and confused when his girlfriend all of the sudden starts acting a lot different than normal and suddenly more distant with him. She didn't exactly mean too, it was just what happens during her period.
He was scared that he did something wrong because of this, but he couldn't come up with a reason why. Did he leave the toilet seat up? Maybe he accidentally ignored her? What if he forgot about something they were supposed to do? Dear God, did he forget their anniversary or her birthday or something? Despite what he thought he did, he wanted to try and "make things right."
He entered her bedroom as she watching a John Mulaney special on Netflix. He stood beside her bed. "Hey, could we play PokĂŠmon together?" He asked. "No. I don't feel like it." She didn't mean to add the annoyed tone to her voice, but she did. She was just annoyed in general. "D-Did I do something wrong?" He asked, scared of her answer. It was then when she realized she was being short with him and distant.
She sighed, knowing she owed him an explanation now. "I'm sorry, Darling. I didn't mean to come across like that. I'm just... cramping really bad today, and I'm really really really craving some ice cream, but I don't want to get up either." She explains, rambling just a little bit. He blushes a little when he realizes what was going on, but he quickly retrieves some ice cream for the both of them, before joining her in bed and finishing the John Mulaney special together.
Karl
Manz is prepared. I'm talking, he's got a secret box in his closet filled with everything she may need, from pads, to tampons, to chocolates, to a heating pad, he has it all. He's so dedicated to making sure he does everything right that he has a period tracker app on his phone to know when she's about to start. Therefore, he knows when he needs to back up and give you some breathing room.
So one day, when his girlfriend got very upset just because her phone died, he knew exactly why. "Do you need absolutely anything? I brought you a chocolate bar." He says when he hears the ruckus from her room. She softens up almost immediately, always touched by the way he knows what to do and say.
"Thank you.. Could you plug my phone up, please?" She asks. He happily jumps on the simple task, despite her charger literally being right beside her. "And maybe... could we cuddle for a little while too?' She wonders. He smiles brightly. "Definitely." He agrees, before slipping in bed with her as they start to watch Hamilton for the third time.
Quackity
Quackity seems to think it's comedy gold whenever his girlfriend gets infuriated by the tiniest things. He was sitting on the couch, watching something on the T.V., while {Y/n} came out of her room for the first time since today. She came to get a snack herself, not wanting to bother her boyfriend much.
But what she failed to notice as she was walking through the Living Room, was the Thanos doll that Quackity completely forgot to pick up earlier. And of course, she stepped on the damned thing. She yelped, almost falling over thanks to the toy. In a fit of rage, she picked the doll up and stomped over to one of the open windows, throwing it as hard as she could into the outside world.
Quackity could not stop laughing from the moment she stepped on the plastic toy, now laughing harder than ever because of it. "Shut up! It's your stupid fucking fault the thing was left there anyway!" She cursed, clearly displeased. He didn't listen, of course. "I-I'm sorry." He said through his laughter. As much as she wanted to stay mad, his laughter was contagious.
She ended up bursting with laughter as well, their voices mixing like milk and honey in the atmosphere. {Y/n} joined Quackity on the couch, laying across his lap as he played with her hair, the two starting to talk about random topics. She always went through a few days on her period where she was just a little more clingy than the others, but Quackity just learned to accept that. He wouldn't say it exactly, but he did actually enjoy it.

The Dog Walker
Genre: Dog Walker!AU
Pairing: Hanbin x You (Female!Reader)
Warnings: None
Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 | Words: 2,022
Tumblr media
You gasped softly when you glanced at your watch and saw what time it was.
If you had waited even a few seconds longer, you would have missed it.
But, as it was, you still had some time. So, you leaped out of your chair and dashed to the window in the front room of your townhouse, using two fingers to widen the slot between the blinds as inconspicuously as you could.
Your gaze shifted as far down the sidewalk as your window would allow, and when you saw the small, brown dog rounding the corner, your stomach flipped over itself.
Because the small, brown dog meant that he would follow.
And, sure enough, barely a second after you saw the dog -- whom you had named Teddy in your mind since he looked like a little teddy bear -- there he was.
You had no idea who he was. You didn’t know a name, an age, a location, a personality -- nothing. The only things you knew about this guy were that he was a dog walker, he took the same route every day, and he was somehow incredibly cute and incredibly handsome at the same time.
His dark hair that fell over his forehead just right. His slightly rounded cheeks that were just so pinchable. His square jawline and chin that added the perfect touch of sexiness to his face. His full lips that screamed to be kissed (not that you would kiss him because you didn’t know him, but boy did you imagine it). His straight nose that fit perfectly amongst his features.
And his eyes.
Oh my lord, those eyes.
They were never focused directly on you, of course, but you had caught enough glimpses of them to know that if they ever were... you would most likely faint on the spot.
But it wasn’t just his face that made him so captivating and alluring. The way he dressed was so effortless but so cool. And the way he walked kind of made it seem like he was a bumbling idiot but also like he knew exactly what he was doing.
Plus, as he’d passed your window one day, you’d heard him talking to the dog he was walking and it had almost made your heart beat right out of your chest.
It had sounded like he’d been having a full-on conversation with Teddy, and his tone of voice had been just about the cutest thing you’d ever heard.
If you ever did meet this guy in real life, you weren’t sure you would survive. And if you did, you certainly would never see or talk to him again because you would undoubtedly act like such a fool that he would stay as far away from you as he possibly could.
So... best to never even meet him. Or go outside to get your mail as he walked past.
You pressed your lips together, holding your breath as the guy and Teddy approached your window. Some days, it seemed like they were both walking in slow motion and you had all the time in the world to admire your dream man. Other days, it seemed like someone had pushed the fast forward button and the whole thing was over in the blink of an eye.
Today, blessedly, was a slow motion day.
Your forehead wrinkled as he loped down the sidewalk, his stride casual but purposeful. You bit back a squeal when you saw his mouth moving, murmuring some unknown words to Teddy (or whatever the dog’s actual name was).
And your eyes followed him like your life depended on it. As if you would actually cease to exist if you stopped watching him for even a millisecond.
And then, a few moments later, just the same as every other day... he was gone. He turned the corner at the other end of your block and vanished.
It was the highlight of your day, and yes, this was all incredibly concerning and upsetting. You were fawning over a guy you had literally never met. Literally never spoken one single word to. Literally did not even know you existed! And yet your heart began to hammer when you knew he was coming, and it sank when he was no longer visible from your window.
It was kind of like he was a celebrity you fangirled over... except he was just a normal guy. A dog walker. One who presumably lived in the same town.
But he was definitely as handsome as a celebrity!
...Still, though. You knew if you ever told anyone about this daily routine of yours -- about your secret crush on a guy whose name you didn’t even know -- they would judge you. Harshly. And for a long time. Probably until you stopped spying on him as he went about his work.
So... you never told anyone. You didn’t even talk about it out loud to yourself. You didn’t write anything in your journal, either! This whole situation was something you would take to your grave.
With a soft sigh of disappointment, you let go of your blinds, turned on your heel, and shuffled back to your computer. It was right smack-dab in the middle of your work day, after all, and now that you’d had your daily fix of Cute Dog Walker Guy... it was time to come back to reality.
Tumblr media
You know how some people get into a very specific routine but they can’t even remember how that routine came about? Like, it just sort of happened one day and then it stuck and now it seems like it’s just always been a part of their life.
That’s not how it was with your routine.
You remembered exactly how it had first happened -- every little detail. Partly because you had the memory of an elephant and were extremely observant, but also because... I mean, how could you forget the first time you saw...
Was it too dramatic to say ‘the man of your dreams’?
Maybe?
Okay, fine, I’ll just say this: How could you forget the first time you saw Cute Dog Walker Guy?
Close enough.
It had all gone down about two months ago, on a Wednesday. You had just finished a particularly long, particularly stressful project at work, and you had stepped away from your home desk for a limb stretch and a brain break. And probably a snack.
The sun had been streaming in through the blinds, and you’d had a thought to go and open them, wanting to soak up a bit of vitamin D after being cooped up inside the entire morning.
And then you’d heard the barking.
If anything could put a smile on your otherwise grouchy face, it was a cute dog. And since you were the type of person to think just about any dog was cute, you scurried over to your window and, rather than pulling on the cord to lift the blinds up, you simply peeked through two of them to see if you could spot this yippy friend.
And, sure enough, you caught him trotting around the corner just in time.
You’d thought seeing this adorably fluffy brown dog would be the highlight of your day... but then the person walking him had come into view.
Basically, you’d known instantly that you were a goner.
The day after, you’d kept an ear and an eye out for both the dog and the dog walker, and much to your surprise and gratitude, you’d been rewarded.
And again the next day, and the day after, and the day after.
At first, you’d thought the fluffy brown dog belonged to him, but there were some days when he was joined by a scruffy tan dog and other days when he was joined by a smooth gray dog -- both of them so cute you thought your heart might burst. So, you had eventually come to the conclusion that he was a dog walker.
Many times, you had been tempted to try and look him up by searching for dog walking services in your area. But, somehow, you’d resisted.
First of all, you kind of enjoyed the mystery. Second of all, you didn’t have a dog, so there was really nothing you could do with any information you found on him besides stalk him on social media.
You already spied on the guy every single day. Wasn’t that enough?
Your plan was really just to continue waiting and watching as he walked by your townhouse for as long as he chose to walk by your townhouse. If he ever decided to take a different route, then... you would just move on, I guess? Maybe try to actually meet someone you might be interested in dating?
That sounded like a pretty solid plan.
But, as we all know, life very rarely ever goes according to plan. I mean, the instant any one of us thinks we’ve come up with a pretty solid plan, The Universe simply shakes its head and laughs.
Instead of watching Cute Dog Walker Guy go past your window every day, admiring him from afar and daydreaming about your life together, wondering how much time you had left to watch and admire and daydream...
Well, I might as well just stop trying to explain and actually tell you what happened.
It was Monday. You were slightly depressed because the weekend had been far too short, and honestly, who decided that a workweek should be five days long, anyway? You’d barely caught up on your sleep over the past two days, and now you were expected to work again? For five days straight? It wasn’t at all fair, and along with being slightly depressed, you were incredibly distracted.
Really, you were sitting at your desk waiting for Cute Dog Walker Guy time rather than actually even trying to work.
But such is life!
And when the time finally arrived, you were ready. You pushed your chair away from your desk, stood up, and tiptoed over to your window with a hopeful smile tugging at your lips.
Almost immediately after you peeked through your blinds, though, you knew something was different.
Instead of hearing the jingling tags of Teddy’s collar, you heard... yelling?
“No, no, no, stop!”
...That didn’t sound good.
Your eyes darted around, trying to see what could be causing Cute Dog Walker Guy (at least, you assumed it was him) to call out like this. And when your gaze finally landed on a squirrel scampering around on the sidewalk and climbing up up a stop sign, you couldn’t help but let out an amused giggle.
Finally, Teddy turned the corner, and he was joined by a brand new dog you’d never seen before -- a dark brown brindle dog who was tugging at his leash and hunting the squirrel as if his life depended on it.
Cute Dog Walker Guy stumbled behind, his brow furrowed deeply as he continued to call out after the dog, desperately attempting to get things under control.
Attempting... and failing.
The squirrel hunter had, apparently, tuned out everything in the world around him so he could focus on his prey and was now jumping up the stop sign pole and barking.
“No, please, be quiet!” Cute Dog Walker Guy pleaded.
The squirrel then jumped from the stop sign onto the trash can at the corner, and Squirrel Hunter leaped after him.
Cute Dog Walker Guy yelped as the dog yanked him forward, both leashes getting tangled up in the stop sign and the trash can.
And then Cute Dog Walker Guy fell to the ground.
Your eyes widened and your mouth fell open slightly, a soft but strangled yelp of concern emerging from your lips.
Oh, god.
What should you do?
I mean, obviously, your instinct was to run outside and help him! He was now sprawled on the ground, trying to keep hold of the two leashes while one dog was still wildly jumping and whining toward the squirrel.
But... wouldn’t that be weird?! If you just immediately showed up to help him?! He would know you’d been watching!
Although, maybe he wouldn’t care? I mean, it really looked like he needed help.
But what if --
“Owwww -- stop! Stop it!”
At hearing Cute Dog Walker Guy’s moan of pain, you fled from your window and skidded to the front door.

Be My Last - Iwaizumi x  Reader (Pt. 3)
Summary: You have trouble getting over a past relationship and it’s preventing you from moving forward. (~2.5k words)
Warnings: again poor communication!!! angst, no sex in this chapter
A/N: Let me know what you think!
Part 1|| Part 2 || Part 3 || Part 4 || Part 5
---
“Oi, you fucking bastard, you knew!”
Iwa losing his temper over the phone wasn’t exactly atypical, even if it had become a less frequent occurrence, but for once Oikawa was actually genuinely surprised to hear his friend this angry over the phone. Especially given that it was almost 2pm in San Juan, which made it the very early AM in Tokyo, so whatever had worked him up had also kept him up way past his bedtime, given that Iwa was now extremely careful about his sleep hygiene.
Oikawa took enough time to properly swallow the bite he’d just taken of his choripan before answering.
“What did I know, Iwa-chan?” He finally inquired, setting down his sandwich in the wrapper spread across his lap before leaning back into the park bench on which he was sitting. It was a wonderful sunny day, the type of day where it was a shame you were being yelled at, he mused briefly.
“About ___ and Ushijima.”
Oikawa’s eyebrows furrowed, not that Iwa could see the confusion on his face. There was a short pause which Oikawa broke eventually.
“Am I missing something or…?” His genuinely confused tone didn’t serve in any way to make Iwa less irritated.
“You didn’t say anything!” He hissed loudly enough that Oikawa winced, holding his cellphone a good distance from his ear before answering. “You used to tell me about that motherfucker’s every move, and now that it’s useful information, you have nothing to say?”
Oikawa frowned.
“Why are you blaming me for your communication issues, Iwa-chan?!” He all but whined.
When Iwa’s voice grew silent on the other line, Oikawa grew slightly nervous. But he was right. This was a particularly severe lapse in communication between Iwa and you that he was now projecting onto him, severe because clearly it had ended up being a bigger deal than it should have been in the first place.
As much as Iwa didn’t want to admit it, yesterday evening was evidence that something was very, very wrong in his relationship with you, or at the very least a residual tangled web of feelings to sort out, and it wasn’t exactly something he could easily fix or improve on his own.
Not that he wouldn’t try.
“What happened?” Oikawa finally asked, and Iwa retreated.
“Nothing. I’ll… talk to you later.”
The phone cut off on Iwa’s end and Oikawa sighed with mild irritation before returning to his lunch thousands of miles away.
On the other side of the globe, Iwa made his way from the balcony to the bedroom, setting his phone down on the nightstand and taking a glance at you who had appeared to be finally sleeping soundly, but betrayed by the intermittent soft hiccups of someone who had been crying just moments earlier.
He hadn’t meant to make you cry. In fact, he hadn’t even meant to force another discussion at all, but hours after the last guests had filed out, none the wiser about the fight that had just transpired earlier (even if Hinata had made a single innocent comment about the bruise blooming on Ushijima’s cheek), the elephant in the room had grown entirely too large for him to bear. Unfortunately, the simple demand for clarification had spiraled out of control and ended up with a shouting match which had culminated in you bursting into tears.
It wasn’t a good look for him to behave like this.
Even so, Iwa couldn’t stop thinking about how the subject of your argument had replied to his grumbled apology with the admission that he probably deserved the hit for all he’d done. Somehow, the persistent remorse in his voice made Iwa consider hitting him a second time for good measure.
That wouldn’t be the right move either. There wasn’t really a right move, was there? All Iwaizumi could do was hope that everything would blow over.
You loved him after all; he was sure of it.
---
you knew, didn’t you?
knew what?
You grit your teeth at the quickly returned text message, then set your phone down at your desk letting out a hushed but aggravated sigh, before picking it up again and typing furiously.
you texted me, ‘how’s everything going?’ right before all that shit happened.
that could mean literally anything??? What???
You didn’t know how much longer your friend was going to feign innocence, but it looked like not very long because once your eyes flitted back to the unfinished project proposal you had been working on, your phone quickly buzzed again.
By the time you had told her what happened this morning on your morning commute to work, she had grown a little too quiet, interjecting very little as you spoke and not asking any clarifying questions. You had assumed that she had just been being extra considerate, but now that it was early afternoon and there was a lull in your concentration, it occurred to you again just how clearly she must have anticipated the awkward situation.
YOU said you didn’t follow sports anymore + it’s been 3 years. HOW was I supposed to know you were going to overreact?
Overreact?
There was a small pause in which you saw her speech bubble pop up and then down, and then up again.
Not overreacting I guess, but I’m just confused… Don’t you and Iwa talk? How did it become a huge deal?
You decided you didn’t really have an answer to that. All you could do was return a noncommittal idk, letting the conversation die out and returning back to the task at hand.
---
“Mommy, why does he look like that?”
Ushijima glanced for a split second at the small child pointing openly at him, giving a small, understanding nod to the mortified mother trying to quiet her son’s whispers before continuing on his way back to his hotel.
His face didn’t exactly throb anymore, but the bruise he had been gifted with was very noticeable even if he had to be thankful he didn’t have a black eye. Iwa had hit him surprisingly hard, which was good. At the very least, he could count on him to protect you.
Getting hit in the face by your athletic trainer wasn’t ideal but he and Iwaizumi were both professionals. They could put it past them.
Even if they didn’t have a deep friendship, there was a sort of camaraderie since they’d met in California years ago. That relationship didn’t have to sour, he told himself.
He just needed to give you two a wide berth.
Even if he didn’t want to, he had to. It was the right, mature thing to do.
Even if he didn’t miss on the court, he’d missed a crucial set in life.
He had no right to demand a second chance.
---
You hadn’t traveled home alone in a while, you realized, as you set pace towards your apartment after a long shift. The subway was cramped as usual, but the closeness of the quarters felt more noticeable and uncomfortable now that Iwa’s hand wasn’t holding yours and keeping you close to him. He’d messaged you about an hour before you were about to leave work to give you a heads up that he would be returning late, and for a moment, you wondered if it were really true or if he was still mad at you.
But you knew Iwa well enough to be confident that he didn’t hold grudges, and if he were still uncomfortable he would tell you - he would never actively avoid you.
Then again, you hadn’t had a conflict like this before.
I don’t love him, I only love you, you’d said to him almost screaming, defensive because Iwa’s voice had sounded hurt when you failed to come up with the words to explain why you were so shaken still.
You’d meant that with your whole heart. So why exactly did you react so poorly?
Maybe it was the final death rattle of unresolved feelings, rearing their ugly head before being banished to whatever realm past hurts went once they were healed.
When you finally made it to your apartment, you stood for a moment at the entryway after flipping the light switch, taking a couple of seconds to blink away the fact that things didn’t look quite right.
For a moment, you couldn’t remember exactly when you had replaced your TV - was that before or after Ushijima? Had that couch always been in that position?
Fatigue even made you wonder where your houseplants had gone, until you remembered you had all but given them all away, telling yourself that those last vestiges of your relationship would have to vanish before you could truly count yourself moved on.
Now that the plants were gone, were you truly over it?
You let out a sigh and set your keys down before shooting a message to Iwa to let him know that you had made it home. That proposal wouldn’t write itself, and you could tackle it anew once you’d treated yourself with a warm bath and a modest glass of wine.
---
Seated in his soon-to-be minimally used office, Iwaizumi leafed through the short stack of papers before him, including prior athletic history and a formal written statement from the team physician. Satisfied, he gathered the documents and gently pushed them across the desk towards the silent, patiently waiting athlete sitting across from him.
“It looks like you’re cleared for practice tomorrow,” he said, offering a measured smile to Ushijima.
“Not that I expected any issues,” Iwa continued, compelled to keep speaking from the lack of response from the man before him. While he didn’t exactly sense hostile energy from Ushijima, it seemed like he was even more difficult to read than usual.
Then again, Iwa was unsure if he was projecting; he acknowledged that prior to this very moment in time, he had been more standoffish than usual, having avoided unnecessary interaction with Ushijima during the day’s orientation activities.
He took a surreptitious glance at the wall clock above his head. There were only two more members to clear after Ushijima and then he’d be done for the day and could go back home to you, maybe picking up sushi on the way home as a peace offering.
Ushijima didn’t exactly look like he was getting ready to leave, but Iwa hadn’t explicitly dismissed him.
The two sat in an awkward silence and Iwa wondered if he should apologize again to settle the stagnant air between them, not knowing that the man before him was considering the exact same thing.
What happens now? seemed to be the question du jour.
“How’s your father?” Iwa asked abruptly, shifting in his chair and leaning forward on elbows propped onto the desk, maybe a little too forward, in attempts to keep his mind off the fact that the volleyball player before him had also played with his love’s heart.
“He’s been well. Thank you for asking.”
Another pause ensued and Iwa was running out of ways to tell him politely to get out of his office for his next client, but for once Ushijima was the one to break the silence.
“I want us to have a good working relationship despite everything.”
The statement hung in the air for a second before settling and Iwa could feel irritation start to bubble in the pit of his stomach once again, but instead he forced a pleasant smile.
“Of course.”
---
With feet tucked beneath you, your laptop perched on the glass coffee table and a half-drunk glass of white wine (refilled once) atop the end table next to the couch, the sad truth was that you had only written about five lines in the past 45 minutes.
Instead, against all the advice you’d ever been given in your life, you had sleuthed your way into your ex’s Instagram and Facebook accounts, gleaning as much information as you could about what had happened after you were two, after you’d blocked him cold turkey on every social media application and vowed never to look back.
As expected, the pictures and life updates he posted were few and far between, but there were still some to learn from, especially when you looked through those snapshots taken by others in his life. You were initially surprised to see old pictures of you together still up if you went back far enough, but clicked past them quickly because the fact that you looked so happy was more irritating than sad at this point of time.
You took another sip of your wine, feeling a soft warmth in your cheeks and a light pleasant haze fill your head while you kept perusing. Some pictures you recognized from his prior team here, Schweiden Adlers, and then there were other promotional images from a new team, Orzel Warsawa... He had even traveled to Poland without your knowledge, you mused.
You took special note of women he looked all too close to for friendship as you browsed, noting a gorgeous, tall blonde in several pictures he appeared to have dated for a brief stint of a couple of months.
1 short relationship in three years. It was a shame, you thought. They could have had the prettiest kids.
And there, you finally realized your internal monologue was crazy. Why were you doing this again?
You threw back the final bit of wine and switched back to your Word document. Maybe writing while a little tipsy wasn’t the best of ideas but any words on the page were better than none.
…
It didn’t take long for you to doze off and your boyfriend to find you sprawled on your belly on the sofa, your glass empty and precariously placed at the edge of the sofa, and your laptop placed just inches above your head.
Iwa’s smile was immediate as he admired your silly position while setting down dinner, quickly walking over to gather you up for bed.
You murmured slightly as he scooped you into his arms, your face instinctively nuzzling his chest. He couldn’t help but think of how cute you were, kissing your forehead softly before tucking you under the covers. You had been so exhausted lately from work, so he’d let you get some early shuteye rather than disturb your peace.
Leaving the bedroom to eat dinner alone on the couch, he noted your laptop in suboptimal location, moving it to the table before sitting down to avoid a future accident.
It flashed on with the slight movement, revealing a lengthy document with heavy blocks of text, which he saved just in case because autosave failure would bring you to tears. He then clicked out, only to see the results of your cyberstalking session.
His heart may have skipped a beat or two but he closed your laptop instead, leaning back into his chair to finish eating dinner.
The uneasiness that filled his stomach instead had to be related to the raw fish he’d brought home.
There was simply no other explanation, couldn’t be.
