Not to be pedantic about niche internet content but!
An ARG: Requires that you, the viewer/reader, participate in order to move the story forward. It is easy to remember because the G is for Game
An Unfiction Product: Is a piece of fiction presented fully as reality, be that police documents, footage, etc the story moves based on its narrative alone

The Analog/Digital Horror Recommendation Post
A lovely follower of mine asked for recommendations on Analog Horror series to watch since I mentioned I'm a big fan of the genre. I figured it would be best to just make a big post about it all!
This post will be split up into three sections: 1) Direct links to Analog/Digital Horror series with series that I have actually engaged in being in red bold 2) Links to analog horror commentary Youtube channels that do a great job of breaking down and explaining series because they can get kinda confusing 3) Some particular series breakdown videos I highly recommend.
Direct Links to Analog/Digital Horror Series
Angel Hare
ChezzKids Archive
Gemini Home Entertainment
Gilbert Garfield
Harmony & Horror
Hypnogogic Archive
Lacey's GamesĀ (I couldn't link to the playlist because the creator hasn't updated it with the latest video; just look for the Lacey videos on their channel, as of October 2023 there are 3)
Local 58
Mandela Catalogue
THE MONUMENT MYTHOS
Mystery Flesh Pit National Park (MY FUCKING BELOVED, also not a video series but rather a blog of in-universe promotional materials, documents, photos, etc. I will be linking to an explanation video)
Needlem0use
Vita Carnis
The Walten Files
Welcome Home (artist is here on Tumblr)
Winter of '83
This list will be updated as I watch more Analog/Digital Horror series! In the meantime, you can refer to the Analog Horror page on TV Tropes if you want even more recommendations.
Youtubers Who Dissect Analog Horror
Pagan Valley
Wendigoon (some videos haven't been added to this playlist so I recommend checking out his general channel)
minaxa
Wowman
Nexpo

ARG/Unfiction Analysis Playlist (400+ videos)
ARG/Analog Horror Explained Playlist (80+ videos)
My Fave Explanation/Analysis Videos

Inktober Day 31: Landmark. 5 minutes. A crow from Monument Valley! This requires a bit of explanation: my sister suggested Monument Mythos, which is an analog horror series about strange events occurring near monuments around the world. I thought that was a bit too spooky for the vibe I was feeling at the time, but it reminded me of Monument Valley, a game I simply adore. Does it match the prompt exactly? Perhaps not, but that's okay.
Special thanks to my wonderful reference:

Some fun facts:
ā€¢ It has no eyes. Not even blank ones like Ancient Greek or Roman statues often do. There are eyelids, but nothing inside them.
ā€¢ Contrary to what it may look like at first glance, it isnā€™t holding a sword. Itā€™s an extinguished torch held downwards, representing the extinguishing of human life
ā€¢ Although it is often referred to as female, that statue was not created with a gender in mind. (We love a spooky agender icon! šŸ’…šŸ»)
ā€¢ It guards the grave of Francis Haserot and his family. Francis was a German emigrate and a businessman in the canning industry, and commissioned the statue after the death of his wife. His business lives on today as Northern Haserot, but he was nowhere near as prominent as other residents of the cemetery. AKA: There is literally no reason for why he had to go so hard with this statue.
ā€¢ The cemetery it resides in also houses the graves of President Garfield and J.D. Rockefeller. (It is literally less than half a mile from President Garfieldā€™s tomb)
ā€¢ (the cemetery also houses one of the most famous men you never knew, Cleveland DJ Alan Freed, the man who coined the term ā€œrock nā€™ rollā€. His headstone is a life-size jukebox. Please find it as funny as I did when I learned that this horrifyingly beautiful angel statue is located only a few hundred yards away from a fucking stone jukebox)
ā€¢ It is essentially life sized (photo by Tim Evanson)

One head-canon I've always had about Spider-Verse (ATSV)
Intro:
It comes from my only "dislike" - cause it's not a big deal - about the movie. Which is the weird idea that every Spider-Person is on board with the plan to let canon events take place.
Granted, the assurance that the Universe is dying because of it is quite the deterrent, however many agree it is the only thing that feels "off" for the characters.
I'm absolutely on board with the idea that Miles can remind everyone what's up, and I'd love that for him, but that still doesn't answer how everyone got there.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if someone already said this, but I didn't look, soooooo it is technically an original thought of mine... That I've had since the movie came out but never shared, so better late than never I guess.
- Actual Theory:
I think that the Spider Society recruits are all fresh after a big canon event - or maybe most are - probably not on purpose, but it has indirectly helped the cause and reduced resistance after the exposition dump about their multiverse.
-
Gwen was recruited after one, and although it wasn't through a malicious way, it technically did happen to line up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spectacular Spider-Man, who for many is a perfect Spidey, also shares the Society's goals, which as seen in lots of fan art, sits oddly with people. What if he also just went through a Canon Event?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Peter B. Parker being an older more experienced Spidey could simply agree out of weariness, but I don't disregard the possibility of something happening to him either.
When Miles insists that Spider-Man always does both and Peter replies with "not always", I could see it also come from a recent scar, even if the scene is clearly referring to his monumental existing experiences.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"If it wasn't for Uncle Ben most of us wouldn't be here".
Maybe so, but that just sounds like an excuse at that point. One than in most Spider media would be pointed out, even if the statement is correct and valid.
- Counter Argument:
I don't think having this confirmed is necessary for the story, especially given that on its own, it's already a good exploration of grief and pain persisting even after the immediate shock has passed. As well as a lovely challenge to the Spider-Mythos.
They deal with monumental amounts of trauma, it's okay if they feel comfort in understanding a shared pain and even in the idea that by - in this case - inaction, the sacrifice of one cop, one father figure, one uncle, one aunt, one friend, one lover... Is vital to the safety of a whole Universe.
Now that makes their deaths feel like they weren't for nothing huh?
-
Anyway just wanted to get that off my chest... Months and months later after the movie came out šŸ¤£

One thing that I really like about Chainsaw Man is the lack explanation for nearly anything !! then you generated a lot of pseudo explanations for stuff !! such as, is this a piece of the gun devil ??! but wasn't he dead ?? there were more piece of him ?? so the Gun Devil that appeared in part one was just half of it ??! just chuck these questions with the part one questions such as : Was Makima that summon The gun Devil in the first place ??
Also The second that I saw this I thought about the Monument Mythos, the analog horror series, I saw Wendigoon talking about and I did find a little to silly for me, the whole thing of that series is that all these monuments in America have some kinda of eldritch being inside of then !! Is these might be a direct reference, then do think that Fujimoto watches other analog horror series ?? do you think that Fujimoto likes Vita Carnis, Do you think that Fujimoto likes FNAF ???
