the one good thing about my spotify wrapped being warped by me forgetting to turn off auto playlists is that there is only one man in my top 10 and that man is george michael
#top 15 actually#16 is timbaland who i'm also ok with#the rest of the list is garbage tho. unfortunately not the band garbage#i listened to such much garbage (the band) this year!!! where are they!!!!#sorry i'm quoting my rant in the tags from the other post now#but why the FUCK is usher there. i fucking hate usher#is there a way to turn off automatically playing the next song in the queue. niche preference i know#because i swear spotify queues the worst songs it's ridiculous#i don't think songs that i have never finished should show up in the top 100 actually. i don't think that counts#if i have to fumble to get to my device and then only skip the song after half a minute. then i still don't think i listened to that song#sorry i'll shut up about it

I might be old-fashioned, but I like listening to albums. Spotify seems to always be fighting me on this.
I like experiencing a collection of songs all at once, played in the order chosen by the artist. I especially like doing this when I discover a new artist: I want to get a feel for what their music is like outside of their one or two hits. You know who doesn't seem to get that? Spotify.
Now, my experience is subjective, and I'm not saying I don't like Spotify. I really love having almost every album I can think of just a few keystrokes away. But I can't help but feel the service isn't made with album listeners in mind. For one thing, when an album ends, I like having silence until I decide what to listen to next. Spotify prefers to fill that silence by playing a stream of algorithmically selected "related" music.
And those choices seem odd, at least in part because of my album habit. My theory is that the habit of listening to complete albums is niche enough that Spotify assumes someone would only do it if they were truly obsessed with an artist. The result is that random tracks from the middle of an album—not even my favorite tracks from that album—end up inserted into such autoplays, and even playlists, just constantly.
I can't be the only person experiencing this! There must be countless others who mostly listen to full albums on Spotify. If you’re one of them, here are a few settings you can use to make the experience better.
Disable Autoplay
I mentioned Spotify's autoplay feature earlier, which keeps playing like-minded songs after you’ve reached the end of an album. You can turn this off, and it's not even particularly hard. Click your profile icon, in the top-right corner, then click Settings. You'll find the Autoplay option toward the top. Switch it off and you're done: Albums will now end with silence instead of a random stream of music. You can always turn the feature back on later if you want.
I wish there were more options here. For example, it would be great if the end of one album could result in the start of a similar album, or if I could turn the feature off for albums and on for playlists. Still, it's nice to have the choice, and I choose to keep this off.
Listen to Multiple Albums by the Same Artist in a Row
I sometimes like to queue up albums by the same artist. There isn't a straightforward way to do this in Spotify, but it's not impossible. Head to the profile page for any artist, then scroll down to the Discography section. You should see a Show all link in the top right.
Click this and you'll see all albums in order. Click Play on the top one and Spotify will play through every track in every album, from most recent to oldest. You can filter out singles and EPs if you want; just click the arrow by the word All in the top-right corner and select Albums.
Again, this isn't perfect. I'd prefer to listen to an artist’s catalog in chronological order, as opposed to starting with the most recent album and working my way backward. The only way to get that is to make a playlist, or to search for a playlist made by someone else.
Look for Playlists That Aren’t ‘For You’
You might think that playlists are the same for everyone, but that's not true. Many are built automatically by Spotify using your playback history, which, if you're an album listener, means the playlist is crammed with a hodgepodge of tracks from whatever you've got on regular rotation at the moment. This can make all playlists feel the same, but there's a trick to staying out of this rut: Look for playlists that don't have the "Made for" marker at the top. These are public playlists curated by actual human Spotify users, not something influenced by your personal listening habits. I find this method of avoiding the algorithmic For You playlists helps me discover new music instead of just rehearing familiar tracks.
Search for Albums Without Using Your Mouse
Finding an album in Spotify using just your mouse can take multiple clicks. Everything is a lot faster if you use the keyboard shortcut Control+K on PC or Command+K on Mac. This will bring up a search bar. Just type what you want to listen to and use the up and down arrow keys to browse to a result.
From here you can hit Enter to open the album, artist, or playlist page. You can also hit Shift-Enter to immediately start playing the current selection. It's the fastest way to find and play something, albums included.

Checklist for Face Day
While you wait around today, please use a QUEUE on YouTube instead of a playlist, as this is the last day of tracking for Set Me Free Pt. 2 and it takes too long for playlists to count. Here's a good one.
Around 8pm EST, you need to start playing Jimin-discography playlists on Spotify to set him up with a high position on their Daily Global Artists chart.
Later tonight, Jimin's interview will appear on Jimmy Fallon, on NBC at 11:35pm EST--approximately 25 minutes before the Like Crazy Music Video Premiere. If you cannot watch it in your region, Our Magic Shop on Discord will be hosting a stream of it under the magic-shop-media thread.
Jimin may also go live on WeVerse before the premiere drops. You're gonna wanna have a few screens around you tonight so you don't miss out.
It is crucial you use another device while all this is going on so you can tune in for a clean stream of the Music Video Premier because those views will be added for the charts and it is extremely unlikely a premiere video will be frozen or deleted.
Cometh the hour, you watch the crap out of the music video--you like, you share, you send it to all your friends and social media accounts and encourage folks to watch it.
Next you're going to want to go to all your pre-sale emails and actually go in and download your purchases. If you do not download your sale, it does not count for the chart.
Then you're going to go into every iTunes and Amazon account you have and you're going to order a digital copy of the FACE album if you haven't already.
One credit card or gift card = 1 account = 1 album purchase. Buy as many as you can afford. There is no faster, cleaner way to chart an artist than to buy their digital album.
Then it's time to actively stream on your premium accounts.
TURN OFF YOUR VPN!
FACE will feature five original songs in this order:
“Face-off”
“Interlude: Dive”
“Like Crazy”
“Alone”
“Set Me Free Pt.2”
In addition, the tracklist will be bolstered by an English-language version of “Like Crazy.”
Stream the whole album but our main job is to prioritize Like Crazy Korean and English versions.
You know the drill. Search manually on YouTube for the first 24 hours. Play it all the way through at 51% volume. Click around on other Jimin or BTS music videos for about a minute. Search again. Play again.
Prioritize both versions of Like Crazy but build in diversity, pause, adjust things, act like a human. You can listen to it 50 times, then you need to switch to another premium account.
Because YouTube is being a little bitch and fucking up the stream count for Jimin right now (don't stop using it--every stream is critical right now, but you can be grump about it while you do), I also signed up for a free trial of Apple Music today and have liked Jimin's profile there.
DO NOT ADD HIS SONGS TO YOUR LIBRARY. If you bought FACE songs from iTunes, go into your Apple Music account and delete them from your library for now. If they are in your library, Apple Music will automatically play from there and it won't count for charts.
Just go under Jimin's profile and play them that way. You can keep playing them from your main account without having to switch Apple Music accounts. No limits on number of plays, just click around on other songs for 30-60 seconds from time to time and don't loop. This is gonna be critical for supplementing YouTube handicaps.
While you're working on that, you gotta fire up your premium Spotify accounts. Make sure all your accounts are following the artist as a monthly listener.
You know you can play something 20 times on Spotify and then you're done with that account for that song for the day. So keep an eye out for how many times the songs of FACE play in your list and set an alarm so you can switch to the next premium Spotify account and keep working.
There are two ways of charting FACE on Spotify. You can play the album all the way through, with the songs all in order, or you can prioritize the title track and use the rest of the album and other BTS songs as filler.
I'm gonna be following JRJ-OT7's lead on this because Jennifer has more than earned my trust when it comes to chart goals, but if you want to tailor your own experience, here are examples of how to flesh things out (album order vs. title track priority):
If you're making your own lists and queues and whatnot, please remember to include fillers like On the Street, Smoke Sprite, and Vibe as new releases and the Astronaut, Wildflower, More, Fake Love, and Sweet Night for milestones. Please also add in Left and Right, Dreamers, and Stay Alive as we only have four days left to help Jungkook break the 1 Billion Record.
So to recap:
*Watch and share the hell out of the premiere video.
*Prioritize the title track Like Crazy (English and Korean versions) but it's a short album so hit all songs in your playlists.
*Download your pre-sale purchases.
*Prioritize making digital purchases today. Make new accounts and use gift cards if you need to.
*Premium streaming accounts count three times as much in the charts. Use free trials for YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Stream the album like crazy on all of those. (If you have premium accounts, you can open all of those in their own browsers and hit 'em all at once on one device if you have to--headphone recommended so you don't go nuts.)
*Delete Face songs from your library in Apple Music first.
*Search manually the first 24 hours on YouTube, then switch to playlists.
*Shazam the songs as you play them.
*Never loop. Never shuffle. Never use VPN.
*Ignore the bullshit from antis and drama queens. Today and tomorrow belong entirely to our artist. We focus on Jimin and only Jimin, and we encourage each other with a positive attitude, good humor, and sheer grit.
I intend to be awake and stream actively for 24 straight hours starting at midnight EST tonight, so I'm going to hop offline now and get some rest.
If you have questions, you might want to take a look at the BTS Tutorial masterlist.
Good luck and God's speed, puppykitties! Let's lift our boy up!

Eunjae glared at the screen displaying boarding times like it was responsible for all of her life problems. Though in this instance, it kind of was.
With water dripping down her hand from the sweating plastic cup filled with coffee she held, Eunjae took a deep breath to stop herself from getting arrested by security for assaulting airport property. She’d already gotten lost multiple times in the obnoxiously large airport. And then once she finally found her gate to check in, the staff working at the desk politely informed her that the flight to Seoul was completely full. Therefore she would need to check her carry-on suitcase in with the rest of her bags because there wouldn't "be enough room in the overhead compartment."
Eunjae had been so tired up to that point, from the emotional farewell with her best friend to the long lines and early hours of the morning. She’d never been an early riser. In fact, the only way to even get her out of bed before eleven was if you bribed her with caffeine. And seeing as how her flight was supposed to leave at 6:54 am, she’d been wandering around half-awake like a zombie. After Eunjae'd gotten turned around in the airport for the third time, she finally caved and bought a ridiculously expensive iced coffee. Even though the side effects of First Touch turned the normally delicious drink into trash.
Taking another sip out of her rapidly draining cup, Eunjae tried not to grimace at the taste. If she was being completely honest, it tasted like she licked the walls of a dirty alleyway. But caffeine was caffeine and she would at least try to drink it while she could still stomach food. With a sigh, Eunjae slipped her vibrating phone out of the back pocket of her pants to read over the latest text from Hoseok. She’d sent a message off to him once she passed through security check to let him know that she would be on her way soon.
Well, she would have been.
Green straw pressed between her lips, Eunjae’s freshly manicured fingers flew across the keyboard. She wasn’t one to get her nails done routinely, since it would just get ruined when she worked on a new clothing piece. But Miles had forced her into getting a mani-pedi with him. Something about not letting her meet Bangtan with busted nails or whatever, but he’d volunteered to pay so she’d acquiesced.
A ding alerted her to a new text and she sent off a reply as she reluctantly trudged her way back to her gate.
Eunjae’s stupid flight had gotten delayed by almost six hours because of some storm raging in the middle of the ocean. She didn’t know if she was more angry at the fact that she now had so much time to fill, or that she could have still been asleep.
What the hell am I supposed to do for that long? She thought angrily as she slipped her phone back in her pocket. Hiding her glare behind the protective lenses of her sunglasses, she grumbled to herself.
Six hours and almost a season of Parks and Rec later, the call for her flight to start boarding came over the loudspeaker. WIth a final glance at the blank notification screen of her phone, Eunjae gathered her red mini backpack and boarded the plane. Hoseok had yet to respond to her last message, so she just assumed that he was super busy with his schedule for the day.
Settling into her roomy seat on the giant plane, Eunjae silently thanked Big Hit for getting her a first class ticket on a non-stop flight. Her seat was separated from the one next to her by a wall that rose over the top of her head. There was a small table right underneath the movie screen in front of her and she dropped her backpack on it before reclining in her chair.
As the flight attendant at the front of the plane began to read off safety instructions, Eunjae leaned her head back against the headrest and hoped that she’d at least be able to get some sleep.
With dark red nails tapping impatiently on the countertop of the help desk, Eunjae watched through tired eyes as the staff member manning it clicked away at her computer. The rest of the baggage claim was completely devoid of people and the notes of some slow song playing over the loudspeaker echoed hauntingly.
Eyes hooded with exhaustion, Eunjae spared a quick glance out one of the floor-to-ceiling windows lining the wall in baggage claim. It was too dark to see anything properly so her hunched over reflection greeted her through the glass. With a sigh, she ran a hand through her hair and straightened the hem of her cut-off black hoodie. The material fell right underneath her bellybutton and the top of her black joggers prevented any chance of seeing skin. Eunjae toed the tile floor with the tip of her white, platform Puma sneakers and sighed.
The bad luck of the day (days?) was apparently never ending. After falling into a weird, fever like sleep on the plane where she woke up confusedly every hour, Eunjae was greeted after landing in Incheon International Airport by the news of the airline losing her bags. It was almost three in the morning and she couldn’t even call Sejin to let him know the issue since her American phone didn’t operate in South Korea. The man was probably wondering where the hell she was.
“Ah,” the voice of the female staff member drew Eunjae’s attention. The middle aged woman looked up from her computer with an apologetic smile. “Your bags are currently in Beijing.”
Eunjae could only respond with a slow blink as her tired brain tried to process the information. She’d been lucky that the woman at the counter could speak English. She didn’t even want to imagine how the conversation would go with a round of charades.
“Beijing?” She parroted back stupidly. Her voice was still a little groggy from her attempt at sleep.
“Yes.” The woman bobbed her head, her brunette hair brushing her shoulders with the motion. “We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience."
Eunjae just nodded slowly. “When can they get here?”
“In about three days or so. If you write down the address of where you’re staying, we could have them send your belongings straight to you.”
Eunjae filled out the slip of paper robotically, pen jotting down her new address quickly. Luckily she’d memorized it from the amount of times she’d had to write it down on boxes to ship out. None of those boxes, unfortunately, carried any of her clothes. Eunjae hadn’t sent any out until two days ago. The rest of her clothing was in the bags lost somewhere in Beijing.
She silently cursed her past self for being so stupid. But she’d needed clothes to wear back at home, damnit!
The rest of the interaction passed by in a blur and Eunjae walked out of baggage claim with only her mini backpack and a copy of the form she filled out. Luckily, the signs in the airport were labeled in both Engilsh and Korean, so she had no trouble finding her way out.
As she went through the empty queue at immigration and rode the escalator down to the main floor and entrance, Eunjae gently slapped her cheeks to wake herself up. She’d been on the receiving end of one too many stares on the journey and couldn’t wait for the bruises to heal. Stepping off at the ground floor, Eunjae immediately spotted Sejin pacing back and forth near the escalators. His hands were stuffed deep in the pockets of his thick brown coat and a white face mask was pulled down to his chin. Eunjae shifted her backpack higher on her shoulder and cleared her throat.
“Hey.” She didn’t need to raise her voice since the airport was empty anyway.
Sejin’s head snapped up from where he’d been staring intently at his shoes, and a look of relief twisted his features. Stepping closer, his tense shoulders relaxed. “You’re here. I was starting to worry.”
“Yeah, sorry about the wait.” A large yawn interrupted Eunjae mid sentence and she covered her mouth with a sweater paw. “They lost my bags.”
“Ah.” Sejin frowned. “How long until they ship them to you?”
Eunjae waved the flimsy paper in her hands, the edges fluttering with the movement. “Three days. So please excuse my homeless-chic appearance until then. What I’m wearing is all I have.”
Sejin shook his head and gestured for her to follow him to the door. “We’d initially planned for you to meet Bang PD-nim and the rest of the members tomorrow morning--well now this morning. But we can arrange for someone to take you shopping first.”
The automatic doors swished open and Eunjae frowned at the cold wind that bit across her cheeks. Hands shoving into the pouch of her hoodie, she looked around the empty passenger pick-up area. The bright lights from inside the airport’s floor-to-ceiling windows gave them plenty of light to see by as she followed the man down the wide pathway.
“I don’t really have a lot of money to spend on clothes.” Eunjae’s words puffed a white cloud into the winter air. Unfortunately for her, it was just as cold in Korea as it was in New York. She could already feel her cheeks starting to freeze.
Sejin sent her a weird look as they crossed the empty street towards an even more deserted part of the pick-up zone. Eunjae could just barely make out a parked van through the darkness. “You wouldn’t be paying.”
Eunjae snorted in amusement through her slowly reddening nose and joked, “less than an hour here and you’re already planning a robbery on some poor clothing store. Shaking my head, Sejin. You’re a bad influence.”
The lack of sleep was beginning to get to her.
Rolling his eyes in good humor, Sejin gave a fake, put-upon sigh. “You’re going to fit in with the boys great.”
She simply raised an eyebrow at him and watched as he slid a keyring out of the pocket of his jeans. The van was close and Eunjae picked up her pace a little at the thought of gaining solace from the freezing wind. Her short legs had to work almost double time to keep up with tall Sejin.
“Like I said before,” he began, clicking a button on the keyring to unlock the vehicle; its lights flashed twice. “Big Hit will cover all of your expenses while you're here. That includes anything and everything you might need.”
Eunjae grimaced. She really didn’t like the thought of being dependant on someone for so long. Even if that someone was a millionaire like Bang PD. “I don’t want to just be given things without working for it. That doesn't sit right with me.”
The tall man paused in his steps, causing her to stop as well. Staring down at her seriously, he held the keys in his hand tighter. “You’ve just moved out here to a completely different country; you’ve given up a lot and we recognize that. So let us at least try and make up for it.”
All Eunjae could do was blink at his statement. Sejin patted her shoulder twice and stepped off again leaving Eunjae with no choice but to follow in silence. They were at the van now and she stepped up next to Sejin as he slid the backdoor open for her. Why he didn’t want her to sit in the passenger seat, she had no idea. But the question answered itself as soon she slid inside and the door closed behind her.
Leaning against the opposite door of the row’s seats sat Jung Hoseok. The hood of his chalk grey coat was pulled up over his dark, wavy hair and a small gold chain hid beneath his neckline. With the silver zipper pulled halfway down his chest, the soft cotton of his charcoal covered shirt stretched across his chest. Hoseok had on his own pair of black joggers and Eunjae silently wondered if always accidently matching clothes was a soulmate thing, or if they just had the same taste in fashion.
The second the door closed, Hoseok pulled down the black face mask covering the bottom half of his face and gave her a smile so big that the tiny dimples on his cherub cheeks popped into existence. His dark eyes turned into adorable half moons as he spread his arms wide open with flapping hands. “You’re here!”
Eunjae just about died on the spot. From the scent of his masculine cologne in the air, to the sudden warmth of escaping the biting wind, to his cute accented voice. Her tired brain was beginning to short circuit from all of the input.
Returning his smile with one of her own, she responded, “I’m here.”
As she slid the backpack from her shoulders, Hoseok tilted his head to the side in confusion and sent a glance back towards the still empty trunk of the van. Turning back to her, he waved a hand at the backpack between her feet.
“No more?” His brows pinched together in bewilderment.
The driver side door opened then, and Sejin slipped inside and started the van quickly, likely wanting to warm up just as much as she did. The car rumbled to life and the vents perched on the ceiling of the vehicle flooded the space with lukewarm air.
Shaking her head at Hoseok’s question, Eunjae answered him as the automatic door lights shut off and plunged them all in darkness. A soft glow from the center console at the front cast his face in shadow as Sejin finally pulled away from the curb. “My bags are somewhere in Beijing right now.”
Hoseok’s eyes widened comically as he seemed to grasp the gist of what she was saying. He leaned closer and Eunjae had to almost physically stop herself from reaching out to touch him. Soulmate or not, they were still strangers and Eunjae wasn’t comfortable enough with him to invade his personal space. So no matter how much his body called out to hers, how much the blood in her veins sang out for him, she shoved the feeling of longing deep into the recesses of her mind.
“What? Why?”
Eunjae had never been so grateful for her ability to retain information that she crammed into her brain last minute as she easily translated Hoseok’s Korean. Miles had been giving her random pop quizzes at all times of the day to try and help. Even though he had no idea what he was saying and ended up pronouncing half of the words wrong anyway. Scrunching her nose in thought, Eunjae pulled up the virtual dictionary floating through her exhausted brain. She didn’t know a lot of Korean vocabulary and the rules of sentence structure confused the hell out of her. So she wasn’t confident in how coherent her response was.
“They lost them.”
Eunjae wasn’t sure if Hoseok’s reaction was because of what she said or the fact that she’d spoken it in his language. Heart shaped lips spreading into another smile, his long fingers came up to frame either side of his face. “Your Korean is good!”
“Ah, I don’t know a lot.” A pout formed unconsciously on her face as she shrugged non-committedly.
“Still.” Hoseok beamed. One of his hands moved as if he were going to touch her before he seemingly thought better of it and dropped it on the seat between them.
A few beats of silence overtook the car that hovered over the soft music playing from the speakers. It wasn’t quite awkward, but it wasn’t comfortable either. It was the kind of silence that reared its head when two people didn’t know what else to say. Maybe it was because they were both tired, or perhaps it stemmed from the fact that they barely spoke each other’s language. But the invisible barrier between them appeared more solid without the ability to communicate via texted emoji.
“We still have a long drive ahead of us.” Sejin finally broke through the quiet from up front. “If the two of you want to get some rest, now would probably be a good time. Today’s schedule starts early.”
He repeated his suggestion in Korean so that Hoseok could understand and Eunjae felt her fatigued body scream out at the thought of another early morning. She instantly felt guilty, however, as she glanced over at Hoseok. Even in the lack of light she could see how worn out he was, even though he was trying his best to scrape up whatever energy he could find for her. The fact that he’d even chose to come pick her up when he could have been sleeping spoke about what kind of person he was.
Whatever exhaustion she was feeling after a day and a half didn’t even hold a candle to the years that he’d felt the same way. With a frown pulling at her lips, Eunjae slowly reached out to gently pat the hand lying on the seat between them. She tried to ignore the instantaneous reaction as the electrifying energy buzzing between their skin warmed her veins. Hoseok’s hand twitched under hers and Eunjae had to stop herself from curling her small fingers around his longer ones. It wasn’t in a romantic sense. Her body was just reacting to whatever science it was that drew soulmates together, so not all of her reactions were completely in her control.
“Sleep.”
Hoseok’s tired eyes peered at her through the dark as he sent her a grateful smile. He flipped the palm of his hand over to softly squeeze hers and Eunjae was almost surprised when the static the gesture sent through her wasn’t visible in the air between them.
“You too.”
As the van drove down the virtually empty highway, a strip of light from the streetlamps lining the road flashed through the tinted windows of the van. Hoseok’s eyes were already closed, his long eyelashes brushing against the apples of his cheeks. How he’d managed to fall asleep so fast, Eunjae didn’t know. But what she did know, was that his hand was still holding onto hers in the warmth of the voiceless, dark car.
The sound of a car door shutting forced Eunjae’s eyes open. It was either that, or the sudden rush of cold air brushing against her skin. When her eyes had fallen shut in the first place, she wasn’t sure. But as the overhead car lights flickered off, they drifted closed again. The comfortable heat pressing against her side threatened to drag her back into unconsciousness.
And it would have if the door to the backseat of the van hadn’t slid open. Eunjae groaned as the cold coaxed goosebumps from her covered flesh. The soft material her face was pressed into shifted as if sensing her annoyance. Stuck somewhere between the land of dreams and that of the conscious, Eunjae wasn’t sure if the warm breath that brushed the top of her head was real or not.
A light chuckle breached through the darkness of her closed eyelids. “Wake up you two. We’re here.”
The lights on the ceiling of the van were getting harder and harder to ignore. Slowly, the weight that she’d barely processed over her shoulders shifted as her pillow mumbled incoherently. The deep, sleep filled voice set off familiar bells in her head, and Eunjae peeled her eyes open with the speed of a sloth. It always took her at least twenty minutes after waking to fully fall into consciousness.
Her eyes blinked leisurely as her brain tried to process what was going on. The first thing she noticed was that she was confusedly on the other side of the car than the one she’d been sitting on. The next was that she’d somehow grown four legs, two of which were larger than hers. It could have taken her two minutes or two hours for her brain to process it, she wasn’t sure.
However, it wasn’t until she lifted her head from where it’d been comfortably pressed into Hoseok’s side that she finally came to the realization. Sometime, somehow, over the course of the drive her body had acted on its own accord and snuggled itself into his side. He had one arm thrown across her shoulders while his other hand sleepily rubbed through the wavy hair under his hood. Hoseok’s eyes were half lidded as his lips parted in a wide yawn. Both of their bodies, it seemed, had answered the other’s call while they were unconscious.
It be ‘ya own body. Eunjae thought half drunkenly, resisting the urge to ignore everything and go back to sleep. Turning her head to the side, she saw the light washed figure of Sejin standing at the open van door.
“You guys going to stay in there all night? Or are you going to come out?”
While she couldn’t make out his expression, Sejin sounded very amused. Eunjae knew enough Korean to be able to get the gist of what he’d said, or at least she hoped she did.
“Mmm. Yeah.” Hoseok grumbled, lifting the arm from around her shoulders to rub at his face. If he was at all phased by how he woke up, he didn’t show it. His voice was deeper than normal, vocal cords still coated with sleep.
Eunjae was still barely processing what was going on around her, but she was awake enough to slide across the seats and scoop up her bag. Sejin moved out of the way as she swung her legs out the door, pausing a moment to blink rapidly from the bright lights overhead. It appeared like they were in some underground parking garage. The frigid air pulled a small whimper from her throat as she hopped out. The garage wasn’t super huge and it looked like Sejin had pulled the van around to park in a darkened corner. By the way it was just pulled to the side and not in a parking space, Eunjae figured that this wasn’t his final destination.
At the sound of Hoseok’s shoes hitting the concrete behind her, Eunjae shuffled out of the way so that he wouldn’t fall over her as he got out. As he stretched his arms above his head, she quickly averted her eyes as the hem of both his coat and shirt raised to reveal a strip of golden skin.
God, what K-drama is this? Eunjae just barely resisted rolling her eyes at the universe. I think we’ve hit just about every cliche by now.
“I’ll show you to your apartment.” Sejin spoke, his voice echoing off the walls of the empty garage. Eunjae looked up at him and narrowed her eyes at the bags under his. The man looked completely and utterly drained. Like he was two blinks away from falling asleep standing up.
“Just tell me the code and how to get there, I’ll find it.” Stuffing her hands into her hoodie pouch, she rocked back and forth on her feet in an attempt at warming up. The winter air was slowly starting to shock her body into becoming more and more awake. “You look like you need some sleep too.”
Chuckling, Sejin ran a hand down his face. “I’m not going to have you wandering the halls. It won’t take long.”
Eunjae refused to back down, however. With a head jerk at a yawning Hoseok, who looked like he wasn’t even trying to follow the conversation, she asked, “does Hobi know the way?”
At the sound of his name, Hoseok turned from where he was closing the van door and shuffled over to them. Hunched against the cold, his hands were shoved deep into the pockets of his now fully zipped coat.
“Yes.” Sejin admitted.
“And the door code?”
The taller man let out a deep sigh, his warm breath puffing into the air. “Yes.”
With a smile of victory brightening her sleepy face, Eunjae rocked back onto her heels with a nod. “Cool. Then he can show me, right? And you can go home and sleep?”
Sejin’s narrowed eyes lacked heat as he finally relinquished. “You’re stubborn. But fine.”
The man reluctantly translated for Hoseok, who’s lips twitched as he sent Eunjae what looked to be a thankful glance. His response went completely through one of Eunjae’s ears and out the other, his deep voice causing her tired eyes to fall shut momentarily. She was always a sucker for the groggy voices of men who were still half asleep and the sound made her yearn for her bed.
“Someone will come grab you in the morning to take you shopping for some clothes.” The statement was directed at Eunjae and she nodded in acknowledgement of Sejin’s words. With one last glance back at the pair, the taller man made his way back to the van and slipped inside.
The brush of Hoseok’s fingers against the middle of her back brought her attention back to him. With a nod towards the elevators in the middle of the garage, he let his hand drop. “This way.”
The ride up to the eighth floor passed in silence. It was more comfortable than the one in the car and it seemed that whatever skinship they shared in the van chipped away a little at the invisible barrier between them. It was still standing strong, but Eunjae didn’t feel quite as awkward as before. Maybe it was because she was half conscious, or perhaps it was because she’d been snuggled up to his side less than ten minutes ago. Whatever it was, she wasn’t going to complain.
With a quiet ding the elevator doors slid open and Eunjae followed Hoseok as he walked straight down the hallway. The beige colored walls and carpeted floor passed them by and at the end of the hall was a T-shaped intersection. Hoseok peeled left, but slowed down as he pointed a thumb in the opposite direction.
“Bangtan’s that way.” Eunjae turned as she glanced at where he was pointing with a hum. He stopped a few feet down in front of a white door with the numbers 821 embedded in a small plaque above it. Hand fluttering at the door, Hoseok spoke again.
“This is you.” With a glance down at her, Hobi made sure that she was watching as he slid up the code panel and slowly typed in a five digit code. The light above the numbers flashed green and a gently beep sounded as he twisted down the handle. He pointed from the panel to her, and back and tilted his head with a small smile. “You understand?”
“Yeah.” If she was going to be on the receiving end of his eye smile every time she spoke Korean, then she was going to find herself fluent, and soon.
Hoseok stood in the doorway with his back propping the door open. He didn’t enter, seemingly not wanting to invade her space. As she brushed past him to step through the threshold, the soft call of her name caused her to turn back towards him mid-step.
“Call if you..,” He trailed off, lips pursed as he searched for the correct words. The hood had fallen off his head sometime from getting out of the car until now and Hoseok reached up a hand to run through his wavy locks.
“I will.” Eunjae smiled at him reassuringly and he sent her back a grateful smile. “Thank you, Hobi.”
Beaming at her once again, Hoseok reached out and gently ruffled the top of her head, unintentionally sending tingles running a path down her spine. “You’re welcome! See you tomorrow, okay? Goodnight.”
"Goodnight." Her voice followed him softly as the door closed behind him, taking both the scent of him and his warmth. Eunjae pressed her forehead against the cool wall closest to her. The apartment behind her was still shrouded in shadow as she sighed into the paint. Tomorrow she was going to meet both Bang PD-nim and the rest of the members of Bangtan.
“No biggie.” Her voice muttered sarcastically into the dark, silent apartment. “No biggie at all.”

This is a write-up regarding the situation in the North as of the last book A Dance with Dragons regarding the Starks and their claim to WF and the North. It’s a rather long post with book quotes that looks at why each character has a claim to the North/WF and how much support they have for that claim going from the character with the strongest claim/support to the weakest.
Contenders currently in the North:
Bran Stark: Currently in the lands beyond the wall with the 3ER. Prince Bran Stark was the Prince of Winterfell and the Stark in Winterfell when King Robb Stark was campaigning in the South. He ruled over the North until Theon’s betrayal and attack wherein Theon became the Prince of Winterfell with his father Balon Greyjoy as King. Ramsay then sacked Winterfell and Roose Bolton took over as Warden of the North with Ramsay Bolton as the Lord of Winterfell, by way of marriage to ‘Arya Stark’.
Rickon Stark: Currently in Skagos. Next in line to Bran Stark. Has the support of the powerful Wyman Manderly to become the Lord of Winterfell/Warden of the North under King Stannis Baratheon as per the deal made with Stannis’ envoy Davos seaworth. Robett Glover also agrees to join Stannis’ campaign if Davos brings back Rickon safely from Skagos and sends weapons and hunters to Stannis to help in his march on Winterfell against the Boltons. Davos is currently headed to Skagos to bring Rickon back.
Characters that know that Bran and Rickon are alive: Theon Greyjoy, Wex, Wyman Manderly, Robett Glover, Stannis Baratheon, Davos Seaworth, Samwell Tarly, Gilly, Osha, Hodor, the Reeds and the Liddle of the mountain clans.
Additionally, Bran is communicating with Jon, Arya and possibly Rickon through their wolf dreams and in Theon’s case through the WF Godswood. Jon sees Shaggydog eating a unicorn in Skagos through Ghost. He sort of ‘knows’ that Bran and Rickon are alive through the direwolves communicating with each other.
Jon Snow: Ned’s bastard son only comes into the picture through Robb Stark’s will. So let’s take a look at this will. Before his death, Robb Stark creates a will to ensure that the Northern kingdom does not die with him. At this point, Robb thinks that Bran, Rickon and Arya are dead. First, he needs to make sure that the Lannisters don’t get the North:
By law Sansa is next in line of succession, so Winterfell and the north would pass to her.” His mouth tightened. “To her, and her lord husband. Tyrion Lannister. I cannot allow that. I will not allow that. That dwarf must never have the north.”
“No,” Catelyn agreed. “You must name another heir, until such time as Jeyne gives you a son.”
Robb and Cat seem pretty determined that Sansa, her husband and any children they have will never get the North/WF. This indicates that there is a provision in the will where Sansa is explicitly debarred/disinherited from getting the North. This seems to be a pretty popular idea as, up North, Stannis is of a similar mind –
"Lady Lannister, you mean? Are you so eager to see the Imp perched on your father's seat? I promise you, that will not happen whilst I live, Lord Snow."
So anyways, Sansa is out. Next, Robb decides to legitimize Jon Snow and he trusts Jon so much that he decides to do this before even knowing whether his wife Jeyne Westerling is pregnant or not. Catelyn is so distressed over this, that she would rather Robb select some cousin from the Vale to be Lord of WF/KITN than Jon Snow because she thinks that Jon will steal Robb’s child’s birthright. And that once Jon is legitimized it cannot be taken back. They argue over this:
He is set on this. Catelyn knew how stubborn her son could be. “A bastard cannot inherit.”
“Not unless he’s legitimized by a royal decree,” said Robb. “There is more precedent for that than for releasing a Sworn Brother from his oath.”
“If you make Jon legitimate, there is no way to turn him bastard again. Should he wed and breed, any sons you may have by Jeyne will never be safe.”
“Have you considered your sisters? What of their rights? I agree that the north must not be permitted to pass to the Imp, but what of Arya? By law, she comes after Sansa . . . your own sister, trueborn . . . ”
“ . . . and dead. No one has seen or heard of Arya since they cut Father’s head off. Why do you lie to yourself? Arya’s gone, the same as Bran and Rickon, and they’ll kill Sansa too once the dwarf gets a child from her. Jon is the only brother that remains to me. Should I die without issue, I want him to succeed me as King in the North. I had hoped you would support my choice.”
From all this we can speculate that the Robb’s will has provisions that disinherits Sansa, legitimizes Jon and makes him KITN if Jeyne does not have a child – since the only uncertainty at the time the will is written up is whether Robb will have a child or not.
The following lords are signatories and witnesses to this will: Jason Mallister, Raynald Westerling, Greatjon Umber, Galbart Glover, Maege Mormont and Edmure Tully. We don’t know where this will is – it’s speculated that Galbart Glover and Maege Mormont are in possession of the will and were last headed for Greywater watch, the residence of Howland Reed.
If Robb’s will comes into play, then Jon goes from Jon Snow to Jon Stark and that automatically pushes him to the head of the queue as the eldest Stark, even if Bran and Rickon are alive. Of course, ultimately it all depends on which houses will support Jon Stark and which houses will support Bran, Rickon or Arya stark.
Contenders currently outside the North:
Because much of the North and house Stark is patriarchal, the girls come further down the line when it comes to their claims to WF and the North.
Arya Stark: Currently in Braavos. She is involved in the Northern plot in the book through Jeyne Poole – who marries Ramsay Bolton as ‘Arya Stark’ to help the Boltons hold the North. With Jon’s help, Stannis engages with the Mountain clans and they agree to fight under him to defeat the Boltons and free Arya. As Big Bucket Wull explains:
Winter is almost upon us, boy. And winter is death. I would sooner my men die fighting for the Ned’s little girl than alone and hungry in the snow, weeping tears that freeze upon their cheeks. No one sings songs of men who die like that. As for me, I am old. This will be my last winter. Let me bathe in Bolton blood before I die. I want to feel it spatter across my face when my axe bites deep into a Bolton skull. I want to lick it off my lips and die with the taste of it on my tongue.
So the clans and Stannis are fighting to save Arya. While Stannis himself is not interested in Arya as a heir to WF (he wants to rescue Arya for Jon’s sake and send her to him), the clans and some of the Northern houses in the game – who don’t know about Bran and Rickon being alive – could be plotting to get rid of house Bolton and restore WF/North to Arya as Queen in the North. Even Roose’s so called Northern allies are not pleased with the way ‘Arya’ is being treated.
Barbrey: The bride weeps ... Dressing her in grey and white serves no good if the girl is left to sob. The Freys might not care, but the northmen ... they fear the Dreadfort, but they love the Starks.
Theon: Not you.
Barbrey: Not me, but the rest, yes. Old Whoresbane is only here because the Freys hold the Greatjon captive. And do you imagine the Hornwood men have forgotten the Bastard's last marriage, and how his lady wife was left to starve, chewing her own fingers? What do you think passes through their heads when they hear the new bride weeping? Valiant Ned's precious little girl. Lady Arya's sobs do us more harm than all of Lord Stannis's swords and spears.
“Night work is not knight’s work,” Lady Dustin said. “And Lord Wyman is not the only man who lost kin at your Red Wedding, Frey. Do you imagine Whoresbane loves you any better? If you did not hold the Greatjon, he would pull out your entrails and make you eat them, as Lady Hornwood ate her fingers. Flints, Cerwyns, Tallharts, Slates … they all had men with the Young Wolf.”
“House Ryswell too,” said Roger Ryswell. “Even Dustins out of Barrowton.” Lady Dustin parted her lips in a thin, feral smile. “The north remembers, Frey.”
Meanwhile, Lord Commander Jon Snow at the Wall has send Mance Raydar – the King beyond the wall – to rescue his sister. After he receives a letter from Ramsay Bolton informing him that Stannis has failed and that Mance is dead, Jon rallies the Wildlings to go attack the Boltons and save Arya. He is assassinated at this point.
So while all this is happening in the North, the real Arya is in Braavos. How would she connect to this plot? Well, if Jon is dead at the wall, fake Arya/Jeyne Poole may end up going with Justin Massey to Braavos – where Stannis has send him to get more mercenary soldiers and men to fight against the Boltons. Imagine Arya’s surprise when she comes across Jeyne masquerading as Arya in Braavos while Arya is walking around with someone else’s face?! This could very well be the spur that pushes her to make a trip to the Wall or the North. The only obstacle is of course that Winter has come in the books and the snowstorms are so bad that Stannis and his army is stranded unable to march even to WF. It’s not going to be easy for Arya to get North at this point. It’s possible that Arya therefore travels to the Riverlands or even the Vale since weather wise that’s easier to do.
Sansa Stark: Currently in the Vale. She is LF’s nominee for the North/WF. The major obstacle for her getting the North is her marriage to Tyrion. Currently she is still married to Tyrion as of the last book. This marriage can only be annulled by the high Septon in KL – which means there should be a regime friendly to Sansa in KL before this can happen. Or Tyrion should die. This is what LF is hoping for - that Cersei somehow manages to kill Tyrion. LF’s plans depends on both Tyrion and SweetRobin dying. Hence why Sweetrobin is being given dangerous levels of sweetsleep, despite the Maester’s warnings. LF also thinks that Bran and Rickon are dead.
So according to LF’s plans, Cersei kills Tyrion, SweetRobin dies, Sansa marries Harry the heir and is unveiled as Queen in the North/Lady of Winterfell. She gets the North and the Vale in one swoop.
But unfortunately for Littlefinger, the North is moving full speed ahead with their own plots and games. Bran and Rickon are still alive, some Northern houses are pushing for Rickon, others support Arya and Robb’s will basically disinherits Sansa Lannister. LF does not know any of this. There’s also the fact that with winter coming to Westeros and the snow storms, no army is going to be able go North any time soon. No single person would be able to do the same. Alys Karstark nearly died riding from Karhold to the Wall. So Sansa is going to be stuck in the south for a while yet.
So with Sansa in the vale, Arya in Braavos and Bran beyond the wall, the closest contenders for WF and the North location-wise are going to be Rickon and Jon. And Jon is still lying dead in the snow. So it’s very likely that we will get either Lord of Winterfell Rickon Stark if Stannis wins or KITN Rickon Stark if Stannis dies in the next book.

Me, I’m Not Myself Anymore
Trigger Warning; - minor/major injures (descriptive) - violence - major character death
Character(s); - Original Male Character (Just a random dude) - Psychopath!Bedbanana (Referred as Tanner) https://archiveofourown.org/works/19479043
A violent swing to someone's neck was all that Tanner needed right now. The sweet release of destructiveness from having blood spilled all over the floor or on his hands was a great need as his stress was all under his skin, crawling at his throat and emotions with the feel of irritation and frustration bottling up in his chest.
It was a night that didn’t go as planned. Everything seemed to crash on top of Tanner’s head, making him work harder and harder until his breaking point. He needed something to calm down. Whether or not he could take the easy way by just working out in the gym, go outside for a jog, play video games, or talk with friends, but he thought the sight of blood being smeared on a knife or bat was his only option.
It hadn't just started with a bloody site in his living room, he was a busy man even before the violent outcome he's done. He had errands to finish, a book to read and a song from Andrew's playlist to listen on repeat, but of course that all cut short when madness spewed inside his brain, letting in a psycho, crazy feeling to Tanner's day.
He managed to finally tick, his vision being blurred with redness and his hands had a mind of their own. He wasn't in-control of his body. The amount of pure hatred and vicious thoughts that ran into his head was abnormal for the guy. Even if playing games had made him play that part of a crazy killer, it never really meant he wanted to do harm to other people. Yet, he was bloodthirsty. A man who wanted to see blood spilled upon his hands.
His first victim was someone he spotted at a bar he went to, seeing as it was the easiest to approach someone and catch them off guard in a busy environment. It took some patience, but with steady conversations and Tanner’s charming looks being easily portrayed towards the boy, which had told him his name; Quentin, was one of his deadly ways of letting the other trust Tanner.
With a slip of some powdered substance that he spilled in the others drink when he had turned away to watch a dancer, he finally got his victim.
All it was now, for Tanner to convince the drugged victim to come to his house. It was easy, since the man’s head was all clouded within seconds of nonsense and the feeling of being extremely intoxicated was especially overtaking the boy.
Tanner raised the mask that hid his identity when Quentin began growing conscious from the substance that Tanner had slipped into the man's drink at the bar. He had a wide, twisted smirk laying on his lips, hidden away from his hostage when the man finally focused on Tanner with his eyes quickly widening. The mask was handmade by one of his trusty friends. It was a cat mask, almost like his icon everyone sees on his social media but more so in a Japanese-esc style.
“O-oh, God.. What’s happening? Who are you!?”
The other was shaking like a frightened puppy in a thunderstorm almost instantly, his voice was high with fear as his eyes roamed around the room and back at Tanner, though not before a quick glance down to Tanner’s weapon in his hand.
Tanner didn’t say anything, only standing there with the bat lifting and falling into the palm of his other hand, in a threatening but also fun manner. His eyes were filled with anticipation for what was going to happen.
The amount of blood he’ll be seeing and the sound of a cracking skull was thrilling to him that he couldn’t wait, but… at first, he wanted to tease the hostage, just for a little bit.
He approached Quentin in the chair, which of course got him riling up, he kept pleading towards Tanner, wanting him to spare his life even if it was too late to say that. Tanner already caught him, like a fly in a spider’s web, and even if he managed to get his sanity back, he still wouldn’t let Quentin go.
That’s risky.
Tanner stopped playing with the bat, pushing it out of his other hand’s palm and raised it, getting a reaction from Quentin as he flinched and whimpered, though Tanner didn’t dare hit him yet. He put down the baseball bat against the chair that Quentin was trapped in.
Instead, Tanner moved to grab a cloth that was lying on the floor. Before he would abuse the boy, he needed to shut him up. He didn’t want his neighbours hearing the commotion of screams in his house, so he wrapped the cloth around Quentin’s mouth, acting as a gag.
Before he could even wrap the piece of cloth around the boy’s face, he tried biting Tanner’s fingers.
“Ow-ah, hey! Now, now, Quentin… that’s not very nice,”
Tanner chuckled under the mask he wore, ruffling the others hair before forcing the others head back with him pulling at the blond locks, and stuffing the cloth into Quentin’s mouth.
He accidentally pushed too far since Quentin gagged, making Tanner pull back.
"Oh, so sorry, baby~ didn’t mean to do that. Not yet at least."
As if Tanner wanted to go easy on the poor lad. Even if what Tanner had heard from the bar about Quentin's life, he seemed like a chill guy, maybe too chill, but that didn't matter anymore.
Quentin whimpered into the cloth that was balled up in his mouth.
"Okay… Don't you dare spit that out, you fucking got it?" He threatened with a finger pointing at Quentin, close to his face and wiggling, "you don't want to make me angry, do you?"
There was no response from the boy, other than a teardrop going down his cheek and a muffled sob being heard.
That's all what Tanner wanted. To see someone scared out of their mind for their life. It was riling him up that the pressure of finally seeing bloodshed was rising up too much, he was basically bouncing up and down.
Going back over to his coffee table where lied multiple objects such as knives and some brass knuckles that he stole from his friend, Jared's place. Tanner hummed a song, a happy, child-like song that made his toe tap on the wooden floor as he contemplated on what weapon he wanted to use. Eventually, he grabbed a small kitchen knife, one to use for cutting steak. A chuckle was heard from Tanner as he raised the sharp object to his peripheral view and began walking back towards his hostage.
That's when Quentin started squirming in the chair. With all his might, he tried escaping his abuser, though the ropes that hugged his wrists, chest and legs were tightly tied, so tight that the ropes were almost able to cut circulation.
Tanner waved the knife in front of his victim, glistening from his lamp shining against the sharp point of the weapon.
He went closer to Quentin's skin, the tip dipping slightly into his cheek as he gently scraped the edge of the knife down the boys face, down to his neck and chest. It wasn't pushed far enough to make Quentin bleed, only to rattle the other. “ You are so pretty, Quentin… Too bad I’ll have to torture you.” The steak knife finally punctured through skin at the edge of his torso, on his side just below the ribs, the first layer being broken and the blood cells trying to protect the open wound but spewing out of the indented cut mark. Tanner noticed the instant shock that Quentin went through, his face turning pale as a ghost and his eyes becoming red with hot tears rolling down his cheeks and onto his chest. A sharp, muffled scream escaping his throat from the throbbing sensation of having a knife being inside him.
A chuckle was breathed out and Tanner lifted up the knife, only to drag it to a different spot, this time, the blade’s tip cutting through until he found a good spot to forcefully prick the knife into the other side. It was a rough impact, more blood dripping out and fully covering Tanner’s weapon.
Cries were the only sounds in the room, which started to bother Tanner, pulling out his knife and threatening at Quentin’s Adam's apple, an animistic growl coming out of his mouth.
“Oh my god, can’t you just stay quiet? You’re so annoying with your fucking crying and shit …” He muttered under gritted teeth, “ Fuck. Here, hold onto this,” and with that, Tanner placed the knife into Quentin’s leg, letting it pierce through the tough layers and letting it stick out without him holding it, even though he did demand him to do so.. The other screamed, his face turning now greenish, becoming sick from the pain and his bloody sides and leg.
Tanner walked away from his hostage, his back away from the other for a few minutes as he went to his home speaker, his phone being clicked into the aux cord so he could blast some music out-loud, only to drown out Quentin's annoying, girlish, screams. Oh! He almost forgot, he needed to listen to Andrew's new playlist. Guess now is the best time for it, so with going into Spotify and clicking on the saved playlist, he shuffled it, letting whatever was the first song to automatically play. Knowing the classic rock song that was playing, he hummed to the beat, his gaze becoming more narrow as he looked over at his victim, seeing the mess of his facial expression. He was already losing conscious. Wow, what a weakling. Before he even approached Quentin again, he went back to the coffee table, picking out a bigger weapon than the steak knife, as the little, sharp, object wasn't really pleasing him as much. Fingers dancing along the blade's sharper side. This was all fun and games, his grin was wide, cheeky and malicious.
Cutting closer to Quentin again, he kept the knife in his leg, letting it stick there.
"Wow! What a good boy you are, you didn't drop the knife!" He chirped excitedly, talking in a baby-like tone. His fingers walking from the machete and up to Quentin's hair, running his slender, soft fingers in the wavy locks before gripping at them again, "you better stay with me, dear, I'm not done messing with you yet."
A ghosting whine interrupted his hearing after the short song stopped and went on to queue up the next upcoming one. Tanner inched away from Quentin, his hand no longer on top of his head and the Kukri machete scraping against the boy's forearm, the long, slightly bent weapon managed to not scratch the bare arm, until Tan went down to the man's fingers, the broad tip, scratching Quentin's knuckles. Clearly, Quentin was clenching his hands into fists, but that certainly didn't stop Tanner from gripping with his other hand at the boy's fingers, letting them spread out on the chair's arm.
"Look at those finger's of yours..." He purred, his head tilting to the side in fake awe before he held onto the pinkie and slashed the digit off, a thump being heard as it fell to the floor, blood spraying and spewing out of the now missing finger, "too bad you're losing them~" and with that, Quentin gagged, threatening to throw up due to the amount of panic and pain going through his system, but he was weak. He had no strength anymore. He couldn't even cry. Tanner began cutting off the rest, starting over with the thumb and working back to the ring finger.
With nothing being on Quentin's right hand anymore, he continued to do the rest on the other hand, though, with Quentin fidgeting for the last time in awhile, urging him to stop, he grew irritated again, finally infuriating him to an extent and cutting the entire hand off. This made blood spill more blood spraying onto his already bloody shirt and mask. The red substance was everywhere now. A growing puddle forming under the chair that Quentin was strapped in.
Quentin was finally giving in, his eyes were white, rolling back, and turning lifeless, his face was pale as ever and his body now limping from the extended suffering he had to endure, but Tanner wasn't done. He wasn't complete yet. He still needed more blood. More blood to splatter everywhere.
"Jeez, hold tight for one more moment, Quentin."
Tanner rolled his eyes under his mask. This guy really couldn't last that long, but honestly, Tanner never really inquired to actually kidnap someone and torture them. It was his first.
The knife in Quentin's leg was finally pulled out, and it was certainly held in his leg for a really long time as it took a few tugs to have it free again, it was stiff and covered in disgusting substances, but that didn't stop him from abruptly slashing at his thorax, a bunch of stabbing marks being made at the middle of Quentin's chest, repeatedly being forced into his skin until his arms became tired and let the knife drop out of his hand and onto the floor.
A big exhale was made from Tanner, catching his breath for a quick second before finally reaching out for the bat that was knocked down due to the commotion of Quentin moving a lot. The bat had already been covered in gooey redness, the liquid dripping down and onto the gripper as Tanner lifted it up.
"You know ... It was nice meeting you, Quentin. You were such a fun guy. I hope you don't haunt my place though after I kill you."
He teased, though it didn't really get recognized by the other as he was already fading from existence.
So, it was finally time to end this. With Tanner raising the bat into a ready position that batter's go into to his ball, he swung the metal sports object at the other's head, instantly knocking out Quentin with a large thud at the cranium. A cracking sound finally blissfully filling Tanner's ears as he hit the now lifeless persons head again. And again. And Again...
After being out of breath, and bones sticking out of the boy's head, the brain being slightly shown on the side, he called it quits. Letting the bat down, with a tired sigh.
"Goodnight .. Quentin. " He muttered under his breath, his mask being lifted off of his face and placed on Quentin's lap, letting the bloody cat mask stay put there as he went over to the speaker once again, picking up his phone with bloody, dripping fingers as he dialed a number; a familial number.
"Hey! Lawlman, yeah, I have some cleaning I need you to help me with."

Love Laid Down (Part One)
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Female Reader Rating: M Words: 2K+ (this part) Summary: You and the boys are working a long-term case in Indiana that requires you go undercover. It also requires that you and Dean pretend to be married. Author’s Note: This is my first multi-chap on this blog! I’ve tried my best to write the majority of it beforehand, but please be gentle if I don’t upload super regularly. I’ll queue up what’s already written and try to get the rest of it done ASAP. Thanks for reading! (PS - title comes from the song of the same name by Green River Ordinance.)
“No.” Dean says, firm, his voice echoing loud in the library of the bunker.
“Don’t worry about hurting my feelings, or anything…” you mutter quietly, and Sam sighs.
“Can the both of you relax? This is a good plan. It’s only going to be for a week or so, anyway.”
“It’s not our kind of thing,” Dean argues, crossing his arms over his chest. “People go missing all the time.”
“Four people in the last month? All of whom went to the same church in this one small town? That’s weird, Dean.” Sam says.
Dean has that look on his face that he gets when he knows he’s wrong, but doesn’t want to admit it. You look at Sam. “So,” you start, “What does that have to do with us going undercover?”
“The parishioners of that church are mostly married couples. This isn’t the type of town where single people move to for work or something. People move here because they’re trying to start a family.”
You try not to gulp, looking back over at Dean, who is still glaring at his brother.
“How are we going to explain you being there?”
Sam grins. “I’m the super supportive younger brother helping his newlywed brother and sister-in-law move into their new home.”
“This is going to be a disaster.” You say brightly, your calm tone betraying your words. You’ve done undercover with the Winchesters before. It almost never works out as planned. Someone always slips up, or forgets they’re supposed to be someone else for longer than a day, and then you’re left scrambling not to get caught by the local PD. “When do we leave?”
.
.
.
You’re packing some clothes and whatever you’ll need for a week along with your hunting supplies in boxes (“it’ll look more realistic if you’re moving boxes”, Sam said) when Dean knocks on the frame of your door.
“Got a minute?”
“Sure.” You say, shoving a box over so he can sit on the edge of the bed.
“If this makes you uncomfortable, we don’t have to do it.” He says, and his face is so earnest, you can’t help the laugh that escapes you.
“Dean, it’s a fake marriage. It’s fine. We live together anyway.”
“Make sure you pack nicer clothes. For church.” He clarifies, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. You glare - you hate dressing outside of your comfort zone.
You sigh. “Fine. Since when are you so on board with this, anyway?” You ask, and he shrugs.
“Didn’t want to hear Sam bitch about it anymore. Besides, how hard can it be? I’ll hold your hand and we’ll suffer through an hour of church on Sunday, and kick ass the other days.” He tries to grin at you, but it’s forced, and awkwardness settles over the room.
“Are you going to get a suit?” You ask, and he grimaces.
“Why? I already have one.”
You roll your eyes. “You can’t wear your fed suit to church. It’s old.”
“I hate shopping.”
“Just get a new jacket and pants. Wear the blue button up. It looks nicer on you.” You say, folding a few more shirts. You don’t really think about it before the words are out of your mouth, but a lack of response from Dean has you looking up, meeting his eyes.
He grins at you, his head tilted, and you groan.
“Shut up.”
“I didn’t say anything.” He saunters back towards the door. “Just glad you take a few minutes out of your day to check me out. That’s all.”
“You are literally the worst. I hope you know that.” You say, flinging a throw pillow at him as he heads out the door, the sound of his laugh echoing in the hallway.
.
The next day, the three of you pile into the Impala and head for Indiana. You and Dean have shiny wedding bands on your left ring fingers, and you sort of hate the way your heart stuttered when Dean handed yours to you. There wasn’t any fanfare about it, he just mumbled something about getting this out of the way and took your hand, sliding the ring on before you knew what he was doing.
He barely looks at you after, and there’s something familiar about the ring he slides on his own hand. You’re hardly able to take your eyes off your hand, the added weight unfamiliar but somehow comfortable.
The car ride takes the entire day. It’s pretty much a straight shot to the other side of Kansas, through Missouri and Illinois, and then you’re in Indiana. Sam says that an area hunter close to Indianapolis pulled some strings with a realtor to find a house right in the middle of the quaint downtown.
Dean pulls into the driveway just after nine, and you’re not surprised to see the town already looks like it’s closed for business. Towns like this don’t have midnight operating hours. The house you’re staying in is just how you pictured it - an old style craftsman home complete with painted shutters and a wraparound porch.
“Probably should have brought a less conspicuous car,” you think out loud, and the glare Dean sends your way as he grabs your bag out of the trunk makes you shrink backwards. “Just a thought. Calm down.”
“Let’s get some sleep.” He says gruffly, and you feel a pang of guilt - he drove the entire way, only stopping a few times for gas and snacks, and you can see how weighed down his eyelids are. “We’ll come up with a plan in the morning.”
As promised by the realtor, the key is under the mat, and Sam unlocks the doors as you look around, feeling a prickling on the back of your neck that usually lets you know someone’s watching you. “You feel that?” You murmur quietly to the brothers, and Dean clenches his jaw.
“We’ll salt the doors and windows, just in case.”
Inside, you take a minute to look around. You have to admit, the house is a lot like the one you always picture in your daydreams about living a normal life. You know it’s stupid to even waste time thinking about a life where you’re not constantly surrounded by monsters and death omens, but every now and then you do think about it.
“There’s three bedrooms, so take whichever one you want.” Sam interrupts your thoughts, and you nod at him. “I’m going upstairs. Lock up behind you,” he says, smiling gently.
You notice that Dean has already gone to bed, and sigh as the faint light from the moon catches on the band on your ring finger. This is going to be a long, awkward couple of days, you think to yourself.
.
.
.
In the morning, you wake up as the sun starts to creep into the room, and you jolt upright. You never sleep this long. You get up and stumble into the bathroom attached to your bedroom, trying to familiarize yourself with the space. You shower and brush your teeth before getting dressed and head downstairs, mouth practically watering as you smell breakfast.
Dean’s at the stove, spatula in hand, and the corner of his mouth turns up as he sees you. “Sleeping beauty,” he says, handing you a steaming mug, and you scowl, taking it from him.
“Someone should have woken me up.”
“Not like we got a whole lot of plans today, sweetheart.” He says, dishing up three plates of potatoes and scrambled eggs.
“Where’s Sam?”
“Went for a run. This whole suburb thing is perfect for him.” Dean says grumpily, and you smile, trying not to laugh.
“You do any research yet?”
“Not yet. Just brought what we had at the bunker. Thought today you and I could go introduce ourselves to the Pastor at the church.”
“Is that how it works?” You make a face. “I thought we could just show up on Sunday.”
Dean sits next to you at the kitchen island, and you automatically hand him the salt and pepper shakers as he hands you the ketchup. “I’ll case the place a little bit while you’re there telling him all about our domestic bliss.” He smirks, digging into his eggs.
“Yeah, okay.” You agree, not liking the idea of splitting up before you know what you’re dealing with, but you figure the church is the easiest place to start.
When Sam comes back from his run, he showers and changes and tells you and Dean he’s going to the library to see what else he can find out about the missing church-goers. The three of you plan to meet up at a diner you drove past on the way in after your meeting at the church, and Sam tries (and fails) not to laugh at you as you struggle to get comfortable in the sundress you packed specifically for an occasion where you need to look like you have your life together.
“Ready to go?” Dean asks, giving you a quick onceover. You nod, and he continues, “Thought we could walk. The church isn’t too far.” Then, quieter, “And you’re probably right about the car being obvious.”
“Score one for me.” You say, nudging his ribs with your elbow, and he rolls his eyes, smiling fondly at you.
“Come on, Mrs. Winchester.” He says, and you make an excuse after you stumble a little bit, the title sounding so strange coming out of his mouth that you don’t really know what to do with yourself.
Dean’s right - it takes a quick five minutes to walk through the downtown and get to the church - five minutes during which Dean goes through a complete transformation. He smiles and says hello to everyone you pass, and even stops to help an old woman load groceries into the trunk of her car.
You’re staring, you know, but it’s just so weird. Not that Dean isn’t a good person. Despite what he thinks, you know he’s one of the best men you know, but it’s never this overt.
“Just trying to play my part, kid. You could try it, you know.” He grumbles when he catches your wide-eyed look.
“I don’t think I could do a better job than you. You’re being more than neighborly enough for the both of us.” You tease, and he flushes.
“Good morning,” a voice calls from in front of the church, and you look up to see a middle-aged woman with pruning shears in her hand coming towards you, a smile on her face. “I’m sorry for being so nosy, but I don’t think I know the two of you.”
“We’re the Winchesters,” you say, introducing yourself and Dean.
“I’m Melissa! I work here at the church doing… well, all sorts of things.” She says, smiling, and that feeling of being watched comes back to you almost worse than it was the night before.
Dean’s smile is tight, but it goes unnoticed to Melissa, who keeps talking about how nice it is to see new faces at the church.
“We’re hoping to speak with the Pastor, to introduce ourselves before the service on Sunday.” Dean says, and Melissa positively lights up.
“That is so nice of you! He’ll be so happy to meet you. Let me go inside and make sure he’s not busy, and I’ll be back in a jiff. You can wait right in here, in the lobby.” She says, leading you inside the classic looking church.
As soon as she’s gone, Dean is looking around warily. “Was it just me, or does she seem a little Stepford to you?”
“She does all sorts of things?” You ask. “Am I just being paranoid, or does that sound super creepy?”
“Definitely creepy.” Dean whispers, looking up to see Melissa coming back with a well dressed man who you assume is the Pastor.
“Hi there,” he says, holding out his hand for Dean to shake. “I’m Pastor Williams. Melissa tells me you’re new to town?”
“Just moved in this weekend.” You say, smiling. “We were hoping to come to Sunday service, but didn’t want to intrude.”
“Nonsense! We’d be happy to have you.”
He starts asking Dean about work and the move, and you zone out for a minute, taking in the surroundings of the church. It just seems so… dark, inside. For a building that has access to this much natural light, it seems strange that the interior doesn’t match the bright outdoors covered with beautiful landscaping.
Dean says your name, and your gaze snaps to his, where his face is tinged with impatience. You want to roll your eyes, but don’t. “Thank you,” you say sweetly, to Pastor Williams. “We’ll be seeing you Sunday, then.”
“Don’t be strangers,” he replies, shaking Dean’s hand. “I’m sure I’ll be seeing you around town.”
Dean leads you out the front door, his hand hovering over the small of your back. As soon as you’re outside and out of earshot, you turn to him.
“There’s something weird about that place. Did you notice how dark it was in there?”
“So what are you thinking? Spirits?”
You shake your head. “Have you ever met a spirit that kidnapped people?”
“We’ll have to do more digging. We don’t even know if these missing people are alive.”
“Can we eat first?” You complain, your stomach growling on cue.
Dean glances sideways at you as you walk down to the center of town. “We had breakfast a half hour ago.”
“Come on. I’ll buy you pie.”
Dean grins, laughing. “Now you’re talking.” He slings his arm around your shoulders as you walk to the diner down the street, and you laugh with him, trying to ignore the feeling you haven’t been able to shake since the night before - someone is watching you.

TGIWednesday ... are you caught up in destination addiction?
TGIWednesday News
We’ve all been caught up in this at one point... the thought or belief that your next car, next romance, next job, next place, next trip, next purchase or program will somehow “finally make me happy”. It’s referred to as 'destination addiction'. Make every effort to be happy right where you are in the here and now and it will allow happy to find YOU. Every day is a process where we’re thinking and overthinking about 90 percent of the same thoughts as we did the day before. As much as I can, I simply stop “thinking” and move in a flow/cadence/rhythm to the next movement as if I was in a song. As much as you can - just for today - STOP thinking about the past, be fully present in this moment and lean towards your future. I know this can help/contribute to you and your life!!! We're putting the final touches on our newest audio mp3 release MyBeliefWorks™ for Inspiring and Igniting Your Creative Spark, aka 'The Creatives'. This is for those of you who are artists, musicians, performers, writers, intuitive healers and empaths and it can assist you in getting unstuck, releasing brain fog and getting your creative juices flowing again! This audio WILL raise your vibration and attract new opportunities that could open up that next BIG opportunity for you! Look for this to be released the first week of August! Here's what a few of the early listeners have said: "After listening to the recording, I felt all anxiety around my book melt away and was able to approach the page with neutrality and then curiosity and then positive excitement. Pretty quickly I was actually being compulsive about writing---which is something I've always dreamed off. Thanks Jimmy!" - Ann Pope "Just when it does not seem possible, Jimmy produces yet another stellar offering. I had some sales calls to make and thought what needs to be more creative than a sales call? The meditation was literally out of this world. My body started vibrating shortly after the start of the program. Jimmy has such a soothing voice that just instantly puts you into a calm hypnotic trance. I just loved how I felt it was my higher self/soul being guided. Tears rolled down my face at the end of the meditation...not crying..it was a knowing. I received a profound idea for my sales calls immediately after the meditation which will truly be another great service to offer these potential clients. Thank you!" - Kathryn M.

From the Fish Box
"Hey Jimmy! I started the prayer service again 9 days ago to help my dad, as I was telling you he had just returned home from the hospital after suffering from a 3rd recurrence of cellulitis in 4 years, plus congestive heart failure. But once he was back home, the cellulitis came back even worse with his legs breaking out in huge blisters which became very red and raw and continued to leak fluid. This was going on for days and it looked like he was heading right back to the hospital when I contacted you. No joke, the very next day after the prayer service started he began feeling better! Things improved VERY quickly (so much so that 4 days into the prayer service the nurse who does his therapy commented on how quickly things were turning around)! He continues to make more progress every day, too. Thanks so much Jimmy, I have no doubt at all that you and Spirit made all the difference here! Just like it did for my mom years ago when she broke her hip! Thanks, just thanks for everything buddy!" ~Kevin M.

All My Idols Ch 31: Let’s Do It
“Is what I’m hearing true?” Seunghyun tumbles into the small dressing room the staff provided for me. I jump, wrapping my arms around my torso to cover myself from who ever busted into my room. Once I realize who it is I let out a breath of relief, letting my arms drop revealing my lacy black bra to the man but I don’t care and neither does he. Seunghyun, being one of the few people I know doesn’t have any sort of romantic interest in me, is allowed to see more than the others.
I sigh, “No I am not doing a stage with JYP, Ikon yes, and let me just repeat, JYP no.” The minute I accepted Ikon’s proposal to preform with them the news spread like wild fire. JYP heard and automatically called me and asked if I will be joining him in his stage as well, I shut that down faster than I’ve ever done anything. He’s is a nice guy but a perv.
“Thank God,” TOP sits down on the love seat not far from where I sit at the make up table. “I thought I was going to have to hide you or something. That man is nuts.”
I chuckle, pulling on a white t-shirt I plop down next to him, resting my head on his shoulder, “Good to know I’m not the only person who thinks so.”
He wraps his arm around my shoulders and pulls me closer, “How are you feeling? We haven’t been able to talk since last night.”
“I’m still a little mad,” I admit. “I want to forgive him and go on but how can I just ignore something like that?”
“I’m not trying to make excuses for him at all but you need to remember is that Seungri is basically a child. He feels as if any new person in your never ending group of friends is going to steal you away from us and be your new favorite.”
“But he went and talked to someone else first.”
“Because he wanted to make you jealous.”
“What?”
He sighs, glancing towards the door as if Seungri is eavesdropping on the other side and is going to bust in, which has happened. “He started talking to that girl because he wanted to make you jealous, but since he’s an idiot he didn’t think you would find someone else to take your attention, you got distracted and he got mad.”
I face palm, “He is such an idiot.”
“I know, I know but he is our idiot.”
“Did he really think I would get jealous?”
“That boy hopes and prays that you will feel anything towards him. You can say horrible things to him, you can be violent towards him, he can take a lot but there is one thing he can not do. He can’t handle life when you ignore him.”
I sigh, “I know that, but Oppa I was just so mad, I had to get back at him a little bit and ignoring him this morning seemed like the easiest.”
“It’s a fair punishment but please don’t keep it up for long, I think maybe twelve hours is the maximum amount he can go without you without having some kind of melt down.” He strokes my head affectionately, resting his head on my own.
“Okay, I’ll talk to him after the show.”
He kisses my cheek, “Perfect, also…”
“I will perform with you guys next time, I promise.”
“Great, I already said you were anyway, the fans some how got a hold of the fact you were preforming with Ikon and got offended on our behalf. So I just annoyed that we are doing a stage together so they don’t need to worry.” He gives me a cheeky grin as he pulls out his phone. “Look! It is already trending on tumblr!”
“Oppa!”
“It’s going to be great! I have to go change, I’ll meet you out there okay?” He doesn’t even wait for my response before jumping off the couch and rushing out the door.
I chuckle as I run my hands through my hair, my life is such delightful chaos.
“Ready?” Jinhwan knocks on the doorway, smiling softly at me.
“Lets do this before I convince myself I’m an idiot for thinking I can preform on the same stage as actual idols.”
“You are going to do great, okay? Half of it is just the look, speaking of which,” He pulls a black leather jacket from behind his back, holding it up I can see that something is written on the back. He turns it around revealing Princess scrawled across the back. “What do you think?”
I can help but grin, “It’s so cute! How did you guys find this on such short notice?”
“We got in in Japan and figured this would be the perfect opportunity to give it to you.”
I jump the small man, nearly taking him to the ground if not for Junhoe appearing behind him, “Woah there Noona.”
“Thank you guys so much for the jacket!” I beam up at them.
“You are welcome, now we should get going before we miss our queue!” Junhoe takes my hand, I grab Jinhwan’s, and drags us down the many halls to the main stage area. Just as we reach the stage I’m tackled by a cute young man.
“Noona!”
“Kookie!” I giggle at the silly maknae, regardless of the glares we are currently getting.
“Not now kid,” Jinhwan tries to pull the giant boy away but fails.
“We are having our time with her,” Junhoe joins in on the fight and manages to get Jungkook away.
“Kookie you can’t just do that,” Namjoon appears, scolding the boy.
Jin appears above me and offers me a hand that I happily accept, “Sorry Charlie.”
I shrug once I’m on my feet, “I’m so used to being tackled now it doesn’t even come as a surprise anymore.”
“That’s concerning,” Jin fixes my hair and straightens my jacket.
“That’s new,” Yoongi notes as he gives me a nice side hug.
“Ikon got it for me,” I grin once again as I stare down at the jacket.
“I thought we weren’t allowed to get you presents,” Jimin pouts as he joins our growing group. I hug each member as they appear.
“You aren’t,” I deadpan. “I’m allowing them this time because I’m going to destroy their reputation tonight by making a fool of myself on stage.”
“That reminds me,” Hobi appears next to me, pushing Junhoe out of the way, “Shouldn’t your birthday be coming up?”
I tense.
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
Jinhwan snickers, “That’s right, Big Bang took you out of town about this time last year so no one else could spoil you.”
“Are you going to have a party this year? Pretty please!” V and Hobi beg.
“I will see,” I deadpan. “I don’t want to make it a big deal so if any of you tell anyone about my birthday I will find you and I will kill you, got it?”
They nod.
“Good! Now lets go out there so I can make a fool of myself.”
“Any chance you want to preform with us?” Jimin offers with an almost irresistible smile.
“Hahaha, you are hilarious. I’ve practiced with these guys a few times which is the only reason I’m agreeing to this. There is no way I could preform Not Today. Blood, Sweat, and Tears, maybe if I tried hard enough.”
“Come practice with us some time! We can teach you each step so we can preform together!” Hobi beams at me.
“I think a few people are in line a head of you now,” Hanbin informs as he comes in. “Big bang is next, a few others have taken a number so you are probably number 5 at least.”
“You guys need to stop telling people I’ll preform with them! As much as I would enjoy messing around I don’t want to make a big mess on stage.”
“We can talk about your future performances after your first one, okay?” Donghyuk offers.
“Okay, lets go.”
“You are going to do great,” BTS cheers for me.
I shake the tension out of my shoulders before following Ikon on stage. We get into our places in the dark before the lights start flashing and the music starts. We start moving, pumping our fists and doing exaggerated hip thrusts. They toss me the mic as they did before I’m so absorbed in the fun I go along with all of it like before and deep down pray that I’m doing as good as I think I am. The fans are screaming so I can’t be doing that bad right? In the idols section I notice that almost everyone is standing, clapping their hands and dancing to the music along with us. It’s honestly one of the most thrilling moments of my life.
When the song is over I feel a little sad but it only last for a moment before Rhythm Ta starts playing. I look over at Hanbin confused but he and the others just quickly move to their spots, I follow on their heels to get in my own. Yet again I go through the motions and join in randomly during the song, ignoring the fact that I shouldn’t be allowed to join in with the actual vocals. It’s over just as quickly as the last song, the lights go to another side stage allowing us to slip off without much notice. The minute we are off stage I’m bombarded by Seventeen who look like they’ve never been so excited in their lives.
“Noona that was so cool!” They all yell together like they practiced.
“Thanks guys but don’t you have to preform soon?”
Hoshi completely ignores the question, “When did you learn to dance? You should come dance with us!”
“Next time I come and visit okay?” I offer.
“Yes! What song do you want to learn or should I just teach you a little of each?”
“Why do you get to teach her?” Chan whines.
“Because I’m the leader of the dance unit!”
“Well you guys figure this out I have to check in with someone, I’ll text you guys later okay?” I give them a quick smile before rushing off to find a certain someone I was planning on avoiding a bit longer but decide I’ve tortured him enough.
I peak into their dressing room to discover it’s mostly empty except for some bum blond lying on the couch. I sigh as I walk in and flop myself on top of him. He jumps, “What the hell?”
“Is that how you greet someone who is trying to forgive you?” I tease snuggling into his side.
Realization creeps in and his arm wraps around my waist, holding me closer, “I’m sorry.”
“I know, I forgive you.”
“You shouldn’t, I was a real ass.”
“Again, I know but I don’t think you really meant it. You aren’t capable of such mean things.”
He kisses the top of my head, “How in the world can you be so amazing?”
“I would never describe myself as such but if I have to give a reason it’s because I have such amazing friends they are starting to rub off on me.”
“I have to go preform,” He groans glancing at the clock.
“It’ll be fun.”
“It would be better with you.”
I scoff, “I did my performance already, it’s my turn to go sit in the crowd and cheer.”
“You promise to cheer really loud for us?”
“Of course!”
So much fluff I don’t even know what to do with myself, I know this is short but I hope you all enjoy!

London and Me.
To be honest with you, I am still not over London. Like, I am still so happy every single time I think about it. I waited 10 years to see this band and they did not let me down. It has honestly taken me this long to formulate my thoughts and I’m not sure they even make sense.
Here is just a collection of things that I felt on that day:
Leaving Oxford for London is an experience. It’s raining and my hair is pretty wavy/curly at the best of times. Good Start.
The Bus we were on took us through Mayfair (If anyone plays UK monopoly that is the dark blue really rich area - Yikes)
Finding a Bus from there to the club was an experience - Londoners are rude af. If you pulled the shit they did up here in the Scotland ...my god. First - turns out you cant buy two bus tickets on one card, and if you dont have contactless you are not getting on. Second - “You can get a ticket up there” is not helpful in the slightest when you don’t tell us where “Up there” is. Third - Yes I do have a Scottish Accent thank you for pointing that out I had never noticed it before.
Finally got a ticket and the correct bus let the good times roll.
Okay when we see the Hamilton Signs on the way back that’s where we get off the bus.
Those two girls at the front of the bus are going to the concert too I can feel it.
Finally found the club, and by found I mean walked round the corner.
I did say if you arent here early you are at the back.
Now we wait.
It stopped raining, things are looking up.
Hello new line friends. Im doing a survey on your queuing experience as we enter hour 4.
I think the population of Spain is in this line. Hola, sorry about the greyness. But you know..UK.
Half of these girls are wearing stilettos, your feet are gonna hurt by the end of the night. But as a literal hobbit - I understand.
Ah movement! Oh its the 483 people. We are running a little behind. Thats okay. First show - teething problems are expected.
Oh are they calling for scream?? Move to the right and line over there, perfect bring on the soundcheck.
Okay now move back to where you were and don’t get inside - that was utterly pointless.
Don’t yell at my new line friend - Mr Club staff man. Its not her fault you dont know how to manage a good queue.
Line Bants, Line Bants. All about those line bants.
Finally Scream time! Soundcheck me up!
Aww a Cute Lanyard and a signed poster! This is already the best concert I’ve ever been too.
They are pre-gaming this soundcheck.
Finally into the club for our soundchecking experience.
The SUSPENSE!
OH MY GOD ITS THEM! They are there! Right in front of me. He’s 10 feet away...
Why Oh why oh WHY oh why are they still so good looking in real life.
It should be illegal for Bill to be so pretty in real life.
And tall - so very very tall.
This is less soundcheck and more private performance. I am totes here for this.
Oh god we made eye contact! He smiled while maintaining the eye contact. Am I red? Im red. Goddamit I thought my Bill fangirling days were over. I was so so so wrong.
Picture time. Group 2, easy to remember.
Friend - Friend why are you putting your poster down your top??
Line friend dont you start doing it too!
Geo is looking at this display of poster toppage - I dont know either Geo and I’m friends with them.
Our groups turn
Oh god I am literally so close to Gustav.
No friend - I wont smile in this picture.
If Gustav doesnt have to smile in pictures then neither do I!
Okay maybe one smile, just a small one.
Okay a big one!
I am satisfied.
Back outside to my beloved queue.
Wow even more people are here!
LINE FRIEND YOU HAVE WINE!!!!!!
Circle time with wine.
Oh even more friends! French Friends from inside hi come stand with us!
We ran out of wine! But we have selfies and that’s all that matters
TIME TO GO IN!!!!!!!!!!
Wow we are crushed in here. I cant lift my arms at all.
Here we go!
Oh god people please stop with the pushing!
Something New - Obvious choice but totally fitting. Those outfits. I am so here for 80′s B-movie space adventure. Its like my entire aesthetic!
Boy Don’t Cry - I really love this song. Line Friend if we could actually move we’d be Tanzen like we were in the line!
Feel it all - Im feeling it all. I am feeling everything. Joy, pain, these girls arms. That guys leg. Mostly joy!
Bill’s dancing is actually better in person. It looks way less awkward than it does on film.
Also Georg. Just Georg. I appreciate all of everything to do with him.
Love Who Loves You Back - Legit my fave song from the last album. Apparently the person next to me loves it too. I feel you random concert girl.
I have lost my friends in this crowd. I dont care. Look at my boys go!
DarkSide of the Sun - Based purely on the amount of versions of this album I own I would say Humanoid is my fave. Also I was like 14 when it came out Music has never and will never sound as good as it did in that time.
The Heart Get No Sleep - glaring grammatical error aside I love this. I don’t think my heart will be sleeping at any point soon either. Go Bill - you sexy dance/touch yourself on stage. Its all good from where im standing.
Better - Getting them Stormy Weather flashbacks. But this song just gets better the more I hear about it in the aftermath of the concert. No one liked you anyway indeed.
Cotton Candy Sky - I know something you dont know, people who werent in at soundcheck...just wait. Aaand there it is - that is Tom singing-ish. The Screaming shows the appreciation for this moment. Fun fact - this song has ended up really growing on me. I thought I would hate it! Im glad that I don’t.
We Found Us - I call Bullshit on that - I cant find any of my friends in this damn club. I have literally been pushed two rows back from where I started (honestly my view is better.) Still cant find my friends though. On the Upside I can see Gustav now! Look at the lil drummer boy go.
Hang on a minute - where did Bill go?
Why is Tom coming down?
Are those Drumsticks?
They are!
DRUM BATTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now normally I dont say such things about Tom ‘cause his ego does not need to be boosted ever....But oh my god did he look sexy in that drum battle!
Oh Bill is back and its time for Run Run Run. I remember the #drama when this song came out. Good times.
Black - Turns out I dont remember the English lyrics for this song. The rest of the crowd are singing though so everything is fine. This might be the one place he wont be harassed for singing it in English.
Easy - Now on the rest of the album the “getting high” references could possibly be interpreted as being high on life, or love - you know if you squint really hard and ignore context. But here literally “we smoked weed in the backseat of your car” there is no other way to interpret that one. So go with it! Im a Uni student, make your own assumptions about what I get up to.
FRIEND! Friend where have you been? Are Line friends still alive? Stay with me friend! Yes I do see Georg’s arms. Yes they are nice. No, I dont think he’ll strip more.
Girl got a Gun - Lets face it this song is just a bit of fun. All I can ever think of is my mother trying to get the lyrics in the right order “Girl got a gun bang, gun gun, bang gun, bang bang, gun gun, bang.” Indeed mum, indeed.
Automatic - my love for this song knows no bounds. The KOS people look so happy - and possibly drunk. The tech peeps have very nicely turned down the sound for when Bill lets the girls sing. If I was up there I would appreciate it very muchly.
As Young as We Are- I adore this song - anything that says “So let us die!” is right on the money. Hit me with your tourbus on the way out please. “This is the last song” the fuck it is. You haven’t played the lead single that is a dead give away. You and every other band in the history of ever do encores - we know this.
Apparently some people do not know this. Where the hell are those people going?
Yes yes do the fake leaving the stage - gotta keep the illusion alive!
Get back on this stage you aren’t done yet!
What if - well you made us wait for it didn’t you. This is my friends fave song from the album. As I said before I am here for a good 80′s theme so lay it on me! Aww look at my baby giraffe dance. What a cutie.
Durch Den Monusn - You know it takes talent to get a room full of English (Scottish, Spanish and French also included) people to sing in German but they bloody managed it. I didn’t know that even remembered the lyrics to DDM its been so long. But sure enough I do remember -pronunciation notwithstanding.
Stop, Babe - And here it is. The actual last song of the night. My favourite song from the new album. To be fair for having the least time with the new album to learn the lyrics everyone has done well with the new songs.
CONFETTI. Confetti and Tears! I would totes name am album Confetti and Tears if I had any semblance of talent that would lead me to be making an album.
If Gusti gonna do the wave?
No. No he is not. That’s a shame.
Time to crush our way out of here! Friend hold my bag and do not get lost!
Outside in the fresh air. No merch. Feet too sore to wait.
Can’t find our Line friends - but we love you line friends.
Now where is the bus stop?
No we arent meeting the artists - chance would be a fine thing (fuck you treehouse - taking my humanoid out of my basket, then doubling it, then kicking me off the site when I tried to pay!)
Ah the bus! I am so sore.
So happy!
Hamilton signs. Off we get
Now walk to the posh part and bus it back to Oxford
WAIT MR BUS! You arent scheduled to leave for 3 more minutes let us on!
Okay not on that bus. Half an hour till the next one.
I want to cry - im so happy. So so Happy. 10 years- all of them worth it for this one night!
On the bus. How can you be falling asleep random person? I may never sleep again!
I had a Scream upgrade and let me tell you, I could have left after the “Soundcheck” (Read: Private performance of a few songs) and been completely satisfied with the whole night. I would have considered it money well spent.
Now being in London I was not expecting there to be as many people as there were, and people showed up and bought tickets from the box office as we were standing there.

Manic Monday || Self Para || Part Two
Summary: In which Tink falls down a rabbit hole of self hatred and despair and is saved by Kuzco. She then repays that kindness by disappearing for a night and reverting back to who she was nearly a year ago.
Alternatively...
Tink chases a ghost of her former self only to find that girl doesn’t exist and she needs to make some changes.
Trigger warnings: self depreciating thoughts, drug use, brief brief mentions of sexy times.
For an entire week, Tink Bell did not leave Kuzco’s room. She was asleep when he left in the morning for work and when he returned she was snuggled deeply underneath the multiple comforters he had. Her clothes didn’t change despite the rather large bag she had brought with her and more and more she began looking disheveled rather than the put together picture business owner she normally was. But she didn’t care, not really. She was wallowing, depressed, and not ready to deal with a single thing.
Now that she had stopped, confessed almost everything to Kuzco, it was harder to keep all the thoughts and doubts away. They ate at her, gnawing away at her will and desire to do a single thing. Peru was no longer a place to fight her demons. It had instead become a place where she would succumb to them. It no longer mattered that Kuzco had assured her she wasn’t a terrible person, that Dodger had told her that she deserved to be happy. Or even Sophie, sweet Sophie, who had told her that there was no reason for her to hate the fairy. Her mind told her that they were lying. That everything they said was only meant to placate her. She didn’t deserve to be placated. What she deserved were the thoughts that were attacking her. That she was better off alone and no one truly needed her. Timon could run Pixie, Sophie would have Lou or Ber or any of the friends she had made, and Dodger would have his family from New York. Everything would be fine and she could just fade to some obscurity; become nothing more than a passing thought.
It was on the eighth day that Kuzco came home early and witnessed Tink staring blankly at the wall and crying that anything changed. “Come with me,” he’d said, reaching for her hand and pulling her up. Tink had gone willingly, having no real reason to refuse, and followed him to the balcony. She remembered it well, remembered the pool that you could watch the sunset in. It had impressed her on her first visit, now she stared at it as if it was nothing more than another destination. She was completely shut down… until Kuzco pushed her in. The cold shocked a scream out of her and when she finally resurfaced she had the first hint of an emotion on her face since she’d arrived on his doorstep. And Kuzco was relieved. Shocked, then angry, then finally a laugh that was loud and boisterous and led to her pulling Kuzco in with her.
That day they spent in the pool, swimming and laughing and enjoying the rather nice weather. When they grew tired they’d lounge on the balcony just talking. More and more Tink seemed to return to herself and whenever that darkness threatened to wash over, Kuzco was there to wipe it away with a well timed joke or a new action that would keep her mind occupied. And by the end of it, when the sun set and Tink was so tired she could barely keep her eyes open, they retreated back inside to that bed that felt more like clouds than anything else.
And the next day Tink decided that she would explore. Whatever spell had been over her was broken almost the moment Kuzco had thrown her into the pool. She woke when he did, dressed shortly after, and left as he did with a promise she’d call if she was going to be out too late. And Kuzco had gone to work feeling better than he had the previous week.
Tink adventured for the first time in what felt like years. Like a kid in a candy shoppe, she walked the streets of Kuzco’s home with a skip in her step and wide excited eyes. There was so much to do and so many thing to see and experience. The glutton in Tink wanted to experience it all. It felt as if she were finally alive, all thoughts of the things that had happened back home erased by this new found sense of adventure.
She’d later remember that her therapist had called it blocking. But that mattered so little in the moment.
She stopped by various little shoppes, picking up knicknacks (Jim’s fantastic snowglobe she’d promised) and various items that she liked. Keepsakes, she told herself, something to remember this trip by (as if she’d ever be able to forget it).
With so much to see and do, Tink barely noticed as the sun began to slope. What she did notice was the night life that had begun to trickle out. People dressed the same way she was, torn jeans and band tee’s, brightly colored hair. And they were all heading, mostly, to the same place. Pulsing music and bright lights. Probably one of the hottest clubs in town judging by the crowd. Briefly remembering her promise, she sent a message to Kuzco letting him know she was fine and still out enjoying the town, before stepping into the queue and waiting.
Inside it was just like she imagined it would be. There were bodies everywhere, loud music blaring from speakers, and an enthusiastic DJ commanding it all. It made something inside of Tink come alive. As if the pulsing lights and the loud music was her heartbeat and she was coming home. Her body moved with the music, eyes slipping shut as euphoria moved over her, and a small smile fell on her lips. This was where she belonged.
She barely noticed another body dancing with her, dancing behind her. There were so many people in the crowded space it seemed as if everyone was dancing with each other. But then there were hands on her hips and her attention was on that. They were warm, though they felt almost cool against her heated skin, and large. They seemed to span the width of her hips and Tink instinctively moved back towards the person in question. Whoever it was, they had control of their movements, of Tink’s movements. Their dance was slow, sensual, and it made Tink tingly in all the right places. It was why she turned towards him, her arms circling around his neck. “All the boys here just randomly dance with pretty British girls?” She smirked, their bodies pressed close together as the song changed. It was slower and her body reacted automatically, her movements becoming slower and more deliberate as she moved against him. His reply came along with a teasing smirk and a slew of words so fast that she didn’t understand.
What she did understand, however, was the subtle nod of his head away from the dance floor. If she’d been in right mind, or listened to the very tiny voice in the back of her mind saying ‘No! Go back to Kuzco’s!’, she would have realized that this scene was eerily familiar. Replace it with a lavish house and a bunch of people from the Next Town Over and it would have been the same scene that had landed her in rehab nearly a year ago. But she didn’t. She was chasing the ghost of someone that no longer existed.
So she followed the boy, pressing close against him as he held tight to her hand, whispering all sorts of sweet nothings to her with an accent that had her head over heels. It was the mystery, the danger that came with what was going on. She didn’t know what was going to happen. Didn’t know if he was going to hurt her but she was ready to find out. If she needed to get away she could, she had her wings and an attitude that could push off even the worst of men if she really wanted. She pushed forward into that great unknown, up a flight of stairs that didn’t seem to end. The pulsing and the booming music faded and was replaced with something else, a different sort of pulsing and booming. It was tinny as if coming from something or somewhere far off. It excited her. Reminded her of house parties when she was much much younger.
Before they could reach the door, though, her mystery man pressed her back against the cool wall, making her shiver, and reached into his pocket. Tink watched with interest as he produced a tiny pill, the shape of a cupid’s bow pressed into the center, and then held the finger it rested on to her. Without thinking she closed her lips around the tip of his finger, sucking the pill into her mouth, before pressing her lips to his. The kiss was hot and sloppy and between them the pill dissolved. It would take some time before she would feel its affects but her eyes were still heavily lidded as McDreamy pulled away from her and pushed the door open.
Before her was the rooftop of the club they had been in previously. Currently housing a dozen bodies and what would look like a tiki party set up for a college party. A DJ, not nearly as energetic as the one downstairs, played music from speakers that were just loud enough to drown out the booming music of the club. The couple were welcomed into the crowd easily and Tink soon found herself sandwiched between two men, both lean and muscular, and between the press of their bodies, the heat, and the drug rushing through her system she found it all too easy to lose herself in the moment. Her head rested against the shoulder of her partner from downstairs who was dancing behind her and her hands fisted in the shirt of the man dancing in front of her.
And when the man in front kissed her, another of those little pills on his tongue, Tink kissed him back readily, groaning softly as she felt the lips of the man behind her at her neck. It was a sensory overload but Tink welcomed it, her fingers moving to fist in the silky black locks of the man in front of her. Both men’s hips ground into hers, her own returning the friction in good measure. Everything was hot and sticky with sweat but it didn’t matter. What mattered was the press of both bodies against hers, their hands roaming every inch of her skin while hers did the exact same thing. It didn’t matter that there were other people around. They were all in their own worlds anyways, drug and alcohol induced worlds in which they were the only people. The display being put on by Tink and her companions was nothing. Not when everyone else was in the same haze.
“Take me home,” she whispered, turning her head to press her lips to the man behind her. She didn’t know where home was, what home even meant, or if they would understand her, but she knew that she didn’t want to be here on top of a club. She wanted to be sandwiched between them elsewhere, somewhere private.
Thankfully, one understood and they were soon moving, hands never leaving bodies as they kissed and groped and fondled their way from the club. In the taxi, headed amazingly towards a beach, they melded into one; able to give attention to all parties involved seamlessly.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~Time Jump to After the Sex~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Tink woke up to sun burning her eyes, her phone vibrating madly somewhere on the floor. There was a slight ache in her body and two arms wrapped around her midsection. Groaning softly she pushed at the bodies, not feeling panicked but rather groggy and weirdly sated. They moved with groans of their own and she was able to move from the bed (not quite as comfortable as Kuzco’s) and grab the clothes that littered the floor. Pulling on her panties and shirt, she dug around in her shorts for her phone and frowning when she was the missed calls and messages.
One or two were from Jim, another couple from Dodger, and the rest (all fifty-two of them) from Kuzco. Groaning, she made her way to what she hoped was the front of the house and dialed his number, turning the volume down as low as possible so as not to worsen her headache. Settling in one of the chairs on the porch, she sighed as Kuzco’s frantic voice sounded over the phone. “Where are you? Why didn’t you call? You were supposed to call, Tink. Are you alright?” She bit her lip as he spoke quickly, his accent thick, and closed her eyes. “I’m fine, Kuzco. I’m…. Well, I’m not sure where I am. I know I’m on the beach. But that’s… That’s about all,” she answered quickly, easily, hopefully sounding better than she felt. She knew her voice was hoarse, she could remember enough of the previous night to know there had been plenty of vocals on her part. But it’d be better soon. Just like the ache in her bones and the slight pounding headache.
“Why didn’t you call, Tink? You were supposed to call. I was up all night worrying.” His sounded… He sounded scared. Worried beyond belief. “I-- I forgot, Kuzco. I didn’t mean to worry you. I got caught up.. I met some people and--- and we were having such a good time I just-- I forgot,” her voice was small now, feeling ashamed. “Do you have to work today? Maybe we could.. We could get some lunch. Talk.” She suggested it hopefully, not exactly ready but knowing that she couldn’t put it off much longer. Not after the stunt she pulled the night before. She owed him now. “I found this cute little diner place along the boardwalk. I can meet you there. I don’t think I’m far from it.”
“Do you want me to bring a change of clothes?” Kuzco asked it with a worn voice, defeat. It was all Tink needed. She’d apologize. Tell him everything he wanted to know. Then she’d ask him what would be the most important question she could think of. Would make an offer for him as well. All would be good. They just had to make it through lunch first.

Gurtenfestival is placed in the capital city of Switzerland in Berne on the hill called Gurten. A proper citizen of Berne would call it „Güsche“. Now thanks to the advent calendar of Ticketcorner I’m able to go to the festival for 4 days and have some VIP amenities available too. I didn’t know beforehand how grateful I would be for that special treatment.
VIP area
Day 1
This year the festival started on Wednesday instead of Thursday. But still so many people queued up to get their ticket changed into a wristband. After that they had to wait another 1 ½ hrs to get to the Gurtenbähnli to bring them up the hill. Lucky me I could jump the queue and walk straight in. The VIP area is really nice and on Day 1 there weren’t too many people there either.
Rag’N’Bone Man
First main act was Rag’N’Bone Man who sang again very well. Although I couldn’t really hear that much because of the chatter of the people around me. I really don’t understand how people can spend that much money and waste it on chit chat. We went on to see Nothing but Thieves who were good but I cannot put my finger on what was missing in their performance so that I cannot say: „Ohh I would see them again“.
Nothing but Thieves
Royal Blood was the next act on the mainstage but they weren’t my favourite either so we chilled in the lounge area. Unfortunately it was really cold and windy and very uncomfortable. So we were glad when we could walk over to the tent stage where we saw an amazing Jack Garratt. He looks like a kid who didn’t get what he wanted but God he’s good and he is really funny too! He started to play very famous songs by Justin Timberlake or Michael Jackson and then stopped. It was kinda frustrating but also very funny. At the same time Dabu Fantastic a Swiss band was playing the forest stage. Since I knew how good they were I preferred to see someone I haven’t seen before. We only heard the last bit when we had to leave the tent to be early for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.
Macklemore
As always the two American lads put on a great show and the audience loved them. However I liked them better the last time I saw them at Hallenstadion when they had the full show going. At the end they held their traditional dance off with two random people from the crowd and wow they were really really good. Macklemore said it was one of the best dance off’s they’d ever seen and I have to agree. To finish the night we watched a bit of From Kid who were okay but couldn’t really catch my attention and so we headed home soon after.
From Kid on Waldbühne
Day 2
Pegasus
I was very looking forward to see Pegasus after I’ve seen them a week before on the ferry on lake Zurich. Again they didn’t disappoint. At 3.30 they had a lot of people in front of the mainstage and had them dancing and singing and waving and jumping. They are just an incredible live band! We then headed to a band from Zurich called Faber. They are Swiss but sing in German which is quite special. Next act on the mainstage was Lo & Leduc. I was really excited to see them in their home city at this brilliant festival. They were blown away by how many people turned up. They told us that they played one of the bars, then the Waldbühne, then the Zeltbühne and now the mainstage. It was an awesome 1 ½ hrs set until they finally had to make way for the next act.
Lo & Leduc with Manilio
We heard the last bit of Nemo who is a very young Swiss German Rapper but I really like his upbeat feel-good sound. It was finally time for Imagine Dragons. I’ve also already seen them at Hallenstadion like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis the day before and I also liked that concert better than this Gurtenfestival appearance. Maybe it was because I stood in the VIP area and not very close to the stage where I think the people had good fun. Funny enough after what felt like 20mins they turned off the lights completely on stage and for a very long time too. People thought it was already the usual walk off-walk on-encore part but I was like this is way too early. It turned out that it was some kind of power cut as the singer Dan Reynolds couldn’t hear anything in his in-ears. Few minutes later the show went on and like Coldplay’s bell I heard the drum sound in “Radioactive” really clearly for the first time.
Imagine Dragons
To round off Day 2 we decided to see Trust. This band has already very famous band members such as Stress and Gabriel Spahni from Pegasus. Stress was actually singing which is quite different to what he usually does. In the end the tired eyes won and we headed down.
Day 3
Lucky Chops
Unfortunately I had to work on day 3 so I only got up the hill for the 2nd main act Züri West. I thought the crowd would react similar to Lo & Leduc and create an incredible atmosphere but that wasn’t the case. The band didn’t interact with the audience and didn’t sing all their famous hits. Overall everyone was very disappointed. My concert buddy had the joy to see Lucky Chops before this main act. And she really liked them. They’re an instrumental band and good fun!
Casper
We also caught a bit of the performance of LP but we still don’t fancy her live voice a lot. Casper’s set must have been very good because when we reached the main stage the whole crowd did the usual rap/hip hop moves by moving one arm up and down. From my experience Hip Hop concerts have the best atmosphere. We headed to the tent stage next where we saw a German band called SDP. They had a punk rock feel and some very racy lyrics. I quite liked their performance and at one point they had huge beach balls bouncing off the audiences’ hands.

To finish this evening Fritz Kalkbrenner sang behind his turn tables. He started with: “Hallo ich bin Fritz und ich fang dann jetzt mal an!”. I’ve never heard a funnier start. He continued being funny throughout the set and he seemed very down to earth to me. I realized that his music is not my kinda cup of tea but I did enjoy his set and many other late night party dancers would agree.
Fritz Kalkbrenner
Day 4
The day I was anticipating the most and it turned out to be my favourite day! Somehow there weren’t a lot of people anymore even though it was a Saturday or maybe we caught the best time to get food and found good spots at concerts. Anyway it was a very chilled fun day.

We started front row with Saint Motel on the main stage. What an awesome band! They have good up-tempo music to dance to. The saxophone was great but my highlight was when the lead singer walked through the crowd to the sound tower on the other side and climbed up. It looked very funny. Another highlight and a speciality of this festival is the dancing security. You won’t find any grim unfriendly looking security here. They help you in any way they can and even start dance moves.
Veronica Fusaro on Waldbühne
Since Kate Tempest was late we decided to see Veronica Fusaro also a Swiss singer on the Waldbühne. What a wonderful setting. The stage is facing a steep part of the Gurten hill so people can sit down or even stand and everyone can see the artists down there. Veronica has a beautiful voice and good songs – perfect for the occasion, a hot sunny summer day. Close to the end we headed for Kate Tempest on the Zeltbühne – big mistake. We didn’t like her at all. She has a weird way of rapping and her songs seemed to me like she was trying to convince me to join a cult or something similar.

Seven was absolutely brilliant. He made everyone dancing, singing and clapping. It was an amazing show by awesome musicians giving their all to us. They visibly enjoyed playing and this is automatically transferred onto the audience. 1 1/2hrs of pure joy! Thank you for that.
Beginner
Unfortunately we couldn’t see Asgeir an Islandic musician but he is supposed to be very good. Next up were Beginner a hip hop combo from Hamburg who have been successful for years. They created a beautiful colourful set on stage and also gave a 110% on stage. What I personally liked was that they were actually promoting the next act Marteria as well. There was no visible competition between them. My favourite words from Jan Delay was: “We need all your energy – oh wait no – you need energy for Marteria too. This is what you’re going to do. Give us all your energy, then load it up again with all those energy stations around this place and be ready to give all your energy to Marteria again.” Loved it J
Death by Chocolate was too rocky for us so we went to see Walk off the Earth. Brilliant decision. They are an incredible live band. We loved their own songs and the covers they did. Awesome musicians who I would like to see again.

Finally, the act I was waiting for, took the stage at 12.30pm. Marteria absolutely rocked the 20’000 people at Gurtenfestival. I have no words to describe this. Before every song he said “Alle Hände” and all hands went up. We danced, we sang, we rapped, we jumped, we enjoyed every minute of this 1 1/2hrs set. During his song “Marteria Girl” he asked the guys to take all the Marteria Girls on their shoulders. At that exact moment I knew I needed to find a tall, big strong guy who will join me for Marteria’s concert in Zurich on Dec, 9th 17! J During the last song it was total “Abriss” which you can translate to “Go totally mental”. Marteria took off his shirt and asked everyone to do so as well and swing it above their heads. (Me being a pro I took a scarf with me… Hello I’m still a girl ;-)) During the final final 20 secs he created a mosh pit and on his commando everyone jumped into it.
Marteria is on FIRE
The party went on all night until the sun greeted us with an amazing sunrise which looked like painted by Bob Ross. The clouds turned purple and Marteria’s biggest hit so far “Wir bleiben wach bis die Wolken wieder lila sind” came true. Just a brilliant finish to a wonderful 4 day Gurtenfestival in Berne with amazing weather. I have to say thank you to Ticketcorner for this incredible prize and to Gurtenfestival for these many special moments with great artists and to my lovely concert buddy.
Wir bleiben wach bis die Wolken wieder lila sind
Gurtenfestival in Berne 12 – 15.07.17 Gurtenfestival is placed in the capital city of Switzerland in Berne on the hill called Gurten. A proper citizen of Berne would call it „Güsche“.

I Walked Into Bangladesh For 10 Minutes
A trip to the Umngot river took a sudden turn.
I went over to the other side. I would have gone swimming if it wasn’t for all the water. So now I can actually add Bangladesh to the list of countries I have visited, even if I was there for a fleeting ten minutes. It was a bonus over and above what I had set out for - a boat ride on the magnificent Umngot River, flowing seamlessly between the two countries.

The nooks and corners of the river during the boat ride
The moment I saw the photos of the river in the border village of Dawki, I bookmarked it to my wish list. And as things unfolded, I was there within a month.
The sparkling green river turns Dawki into a destination instead of a mere transit point, bustling with organised chaos. Smoky cross-border trucks wade through the tiny bazaar; a few dhabas are the only places to grab a decent bite. The border security forces remain mired in their daily routine, politely posing for selfies every now and then taken by amused tourists, including me.
Borders can be strange and yet there was an air of peaceful coexistence at Dawki, an unspoken bond, where the locals and tourists from both sides come to enjoy the non-motorised boat rides.

The water looks different from every angle
The drive to Dawki I hired a cab from Cherrapunji, a four-hour drive down Tyrna village, from where the trek to the root bridges at Nongriat starts.
Except for some bumpy roads, the drive was quite appealing as I passed through the valleys at the Mawkdok Bridge and the stately mountains harbouring virgin coniferous forests.
I had the same driver throughout, who charged me Rs.3000 for the entire route, starting at Tyrna, to Dawki and finally ending at Shillong. I thought it was a fair deal. The driver, Khem, was quite young and looked as if he had just got his license. His cousin had also tagged along for the Dawki trip. Well, more the merrier! I observed rampant quarrying of stone, sand and logs and wondered how much of it was legal.
We made some pit stops on the way and reached Dawki around afternoon.
At first, I was a little confused because the river didn’t look anything like the pictures. The aerial photos gave the illusion of boats suspended in mid-air over a sparking Umngot. In reality, it was an expanse of swathes of white sand, tributaries zigzagging through it that reminded me of river Nila in Kerala.
As I wondered if I was in the right place, the exotic part of the river surfaced, but it wasn’t until the boat ride that I would experience the true essence of the river.
By now touts were already trying to hustle me into taking boat rides. They were charging Rs.700. I wanted to check out the border and grab some lunch so I told them that I’ll be back if they offer me a better price.

The suspension bridge across the river can’t hold much
We drove across an ancient suspension bridge that had warning signs indicating its weakness – ‘One vehicle at a time’. Passing through the main market area, we arrived at the check post that was dotted with cargo trucks waiting to cross over. Khem and his cousin were there for the first time too and behaving like excited tourists.
There was an officer, Komal Singh, who was stationed right at the border and looked friendly, despite the automatic weapon slung across his shoulder. I went up to him with my best smile and enquired if I could cross the border. He said that depended on his Bangladeshi counterparts and allowed me to check with them. Even though their immediate response was negative, they eventually agreed. By being at the check post, I was technically already in Bangladesh.

I strolled into another country as if it were my backyard. I understood why there were so many illegal immigrants on our side. The border was too porous and it was just too easy.
I spent my ten sacred minutes in Bangladesh walking around and trying out street food. The vendors were friendly, although I wasn’t sure about the hygiene. After trying some pickled berries, we thanked the officers and crossed back to India for lunch.
We headed back to the river where I bumped into some Indian travellers I’d met earlier at my homestay in Nongriat. I found out from them that their boat ride had only cost Rs.400. The men around heard this conversation and offered me a ride at the same price, realizing they were had.

With Bangladeshi street vendor Mohammed
The boat ride was therapeutic. The calm green waters cut through weathered rocks on either side as it flowed relentlessly. A brief spell of rapids gushed into one end of the river, while the other end branched into a riverbed of white sand. Unfortunately for the Bangladeshis, their side of the river wasn’t this exquisite, which was separated by a rope across the river’s length.
I pictured the river as a stream of crystal clear water dotted with laidback anglers and solitary fisher folk, and realized how in the larger scheme of things a border was just a reclining spot for the people of two countries.
The drive back to Shillong was chilly and we helped ourselves to some smoked pork on the way. Shillong is lovely, especially the police bazar area. The streets were littered with shops selling food, jackets, shoes and other things. I had only one night there as my flight back to Mumbai from Guwahati was the next day. Luckily, I found a decent budget hotel inside a charming colonial building.

Local band belts out during the Coldplay tribute night
I decided to go with the flow and promised myself Khasi food at Trattoria. Before dinner, I hit a shady bar at the basement of a building. Getting drunk till closing time at 11 p.m. all I had was a plate of fries for company. Happily inebriated now, I walked into Cloud9, a nightclub instead of Trattoria. Hypnotized by the faint strain of a live band playing Coldplay songs, my gut followed my feet.
As the dark of the night descended on Shillong, I was high on a combination of Rum, Cola and a couple of joints, grooving to the great music and taking in the good vibes.
I don’t remember when I passed out and for obvious reasons. Next morning I took a shared cab for Rs. 500 from Shillong to the Guwahati airport. Guwahati functioning as if it were still 1987 had a host of panicked flyers, anxious families and pissed off people waiting in queues. Despite, almost missing my flight without any fault of my own, the scurry at the airport didn’t bring my spirits down, for I had just had a wonderful time and checked off Bangladesh from my list, albeit only technically.
101 Dawki 1. Always bargain for the boat rides 2. Walk into Bangladesh just for the heck of it 3. Carry a passport and necessary documents if you want to stay on longer than ten minutes 4. You could always persuade the boat guy to anchor somewhere for a swim 5. Catch a live act in Shillong
Act like you’re catching an international flight and reach the airport well in time.
