Do you ever think how Series 5 is defined by Merlin seeing that vision of Camlann, of Mordred stabbing Arthur, of Arthur falling?
Much like how Morgana changes when the Cailleach tells her about Emrys, paired with her own vision of Camlann, Merlin changes when he is given a similar vision, similar knowledge.
Merlin is darker already after the 3 year time skip, but the entire series you see him slip into this version of himself that is hardly recognisable, even when you compare him to his characterisation in S4.
But it's that vision, the actions he takes with Mordred, how he behaves with Uther's spirit, with the Disir, with brainwashed!Gwen, with Gaius when he tries to prod at what Merlin has become, even with how he acts around Finna...
It's something that knocks me down every time I watch a bit of Series 5, any scene with Merlin feels like I'm watching a man at his very limit. Like he's so close to straight up murder I think.
Much like how Arthur says in S5Ep1, betraying their beliefs is what would destroy everything they've strived for.
And if you look at Ep5, Ep11, yeah, yeah that's exactly what happens with Merlin. He's so darkened by his destiny, so determined to do almost anything to protect and save Arthur, that he betrays himself.
And that ties into how Merlin is the light to Morgana's darkness. Where Merlin changes because of love and his will to do good overall, Morgana changes because of hatred and her will to do everything to succeed, even hunt her own - which includes her search for Emrys.
It's just !!!!! because I love how Merlin acts in Series 5. It's the little things too, like the way he puts on his jacket when sneaking out to meet with Finna, the way he's so smug when he says Mordred has beguiled them all, the way he stares at brainwashed!Gwen when she's about to accuse him, the way he snarls at Uther's spirit.
I love him, I love him so much, I could talk about Series 5 Merlin all day, he's just perfect!

Ohhh. No. Hate the 'entire back story in 1 minute' play.
Let people learn through watching the show imo.
Intrigue them to watch more by opening up little by little...

UNIVERSITY CHALLENGE BAYBEEE
Tumblr media
I'm gonna be on University Flippin' Challenge!
Tune into BBC2 at 20:30 on New Year's Eve to catch me representing my alma mater St Andrews in the Celebrity Christmas Special!
It'll be available on iPlayer afterwards too!
-------------- TRANSLATION FOR BAFFLED AMERICANS ------------------
University Challenge is a quiz show on the BBC, it's been going since 1962 and it's a British institution. Viewing figures are usually measured in the millions and it's a huge honour to be invited on. It's famously super difficult. There's no prize money and after I'd paid my makeup artist and manager I was actually down fifty quid lmao; you do it purely for the love of the game

i'm very disappointed in the decision to air doctor who at a time that is very much not convenient for people in the country where it was created. while the family viewing aspect is retained by its later airing on bbc one, it does feel like it premiering at midnight on iplayer is designed around american watchers, not british ones
twinning it with eurovision is also not great, given that many people are calling for a boycott of eurovision given that they are featuring an israeli entry

BBC and Netflix release first-look at forthcoming drama The Bombing of Pan Am 103
“This was an act of war, and now we are to find out who we’re fighting.”
Six-part series shares the untold story of the Scottish and American investigators who sought to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Tumblr media
The untold story of the Scots-US investigation into the bombing of a passenger flight over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988, and the devastating effect it had on the community and the families who lost loved ones.
The BBC and Netflix have released first-look pictures of The Bombing of Pan Am 103, the forthcoming drama based on the true story of the bombing of a passenger flight over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988 and the quest to bring the perpetrators to justice.
On 21 December 1988, flight Pan Am 103 was en route from Heathrow to JFK when a bomb exploded in its hold over Lockerbie, killing 270 people, including 43 British citizens and 190 Americans. It was the worst-ever terror attack on British soil and the first major act of terrorism against US citizens.
Tumblr media
Made by World Productions, with lead writer Jonathan Lee, the six-part series follows the untold story of the Scots-US investigation into the attack and the devastating effect it had on the small town and the families who lost loved ones. From the initial exhaustive search for evidence on the ground in Scotland, via the US and Malta to the trial at Camp Zeist in 2000, the series leads up to the upcoming new trial in the US. The Bombing of Pan Am 103 also highlights the human impact on the investigators, the families and the Lockerbie community as it sought to rebuild and connect with bereaved families around the world.
The cast includes Connor Swindells (SAS Rogue Heroes, Sex Education), Patrick J. Adams (Suits, A League of Their Own), Merritt Wever (Unbelievable, Severance), Peter Mullan (Ozark, Payback), Tony Curran (Mary & George, Mayflies), Douglas Hodge (The Great, Catastrophe), Eddie Marsan (The Power, Ray Donovan), Nicholas Gleaves (After The Flood, The Rising) Lauren Lyle (Karen Pirie, Vigil), Andrew Rothney (The Undeclared War, Traces), Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey, Guilt), Cora Bissett (Annika, Shetland), Kevin McKidd (Greys Anatomy, Six Four), Parker Sawyers (Spy/Master, P-Valley), James Harkness (The Sixth Commandment, The Victim), Molly Geddes (Dinosaur, Where We Stop), Khalid Laith (Vigil, Cobra), and Amanda Drew (The Gold, Wolf).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alongside acclaimed novelist and screenwriter Jonathan Lee as lead writer, two episodes are written by Scottish screenwriter Gillian Roger Park. The 6 x 60 series is produced by World Productions (United, the story of the Munich air disaster, and Anne, the drama about Hillsborough mother and justice campaigner Anne Williams) in association with MGM Television (The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes, Fargo) and Night Train Media (Rogue Agent, Catch me a Killer). The Bombing of Pan Am 103 was initially developed by MGM Television and Night Train Media.
The Bombing of Pan Am 103 is coming soon to BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, followed by Netflix globally. The producer is Julia Stannard (United, War and Peace, Anne) and Michael Keillor (Chimerica, Roadkill, Best Interests) is the director.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The project was developed by filmmaker Adam Morane-Griffiths whose research includes extensive interviews with Scottish police officers and representatives from United States investigative agencies, many of whom have never previously shared their stories. Producers and writers also spoke to many of the families and loved ones of the victims. Their stories revealed the impact the bombing had on their lives and the heroic activism that followed - resulting in lasting change to the way authorities approached security, safety and duty of care towards those involved in mass fatality incidents.
Filming took place on location in Scotland, Malta and Toronto.
The executive producers are Simon Heath and Roderick Seligman for World Productions; Steve Stark and Stacey Levin for Toluca Pictures, Adam Morane-Griffiths, Sara Curran, Herbert L. Kloiber for Night Train Media, Jonathan Lee, Michael Keillor; and Gaynor Holmes for the BBC. The co-executive producer is Joe Hill. Mona Qureshi and Manda Levin are leading for Netflix. The Bombing of Pan Am 103 is produced by World Productions, an ITV Studios company, in association with MGM Television and Night Train Media.

The Bombing of Pan Am 103 was previously announced under the title of Lockerbie.

Things I Wish I knew living on my own
This is gonna be pretty short at the moment (I'll add more later) because I haven't been living on my own for very long and I think there's still plenty that I still have to figure out. I'm also drunk as I write this so this might be rambling.
This is gonna be chock full of really obvious stuff for most people but stuff that really confused or stressed me out when I did it. It's also gonna have that obvious stuff that's not so obvious because no one really talks about it until you are on your own and you haven't the first idea how to start.
First things first. Money. You're gonna need it, so look up a bank that is in your area and look into the process of setting up an account. Some banks have this online, sometimes you need to walk into the bank and do it in person. In both cases, make sure you have a passport, birth certificate, or other ID on you, as literally everything you know about your financial state prior to this. Ask your parents if you need to, or someone who knows this, because they are gonna ask a lot of questions. Once you've got the account set up make sure to confirm your ID. I set up an account online, and since I forgot to do this step, I have now had my account deactivated and I need to start all over again. Don't be like me.
If you're in a foreign country like me, make sure you understand how the currency works, and set up a method to transfer funds without having to pay the tax every time. Set up an app like Wise or something similar so people can transfer you money and you can move it to your bank account. Make sure you have a rough idea of how much something is worth in each currency. I'm still adjusting to using pounds, and things would look really cheap until I realized that a pound is worth slightly more than a dollar.
Services. I mean stuff like wifi and tv and stuff. If you're a student, than your wifi is fine, just make sure you set it up right. Euroroam is a bitch, so make sure you google how to do it right and just follow it step by step. Ask for help. Just ask someone. I'm so serious. Another thing I'm struggling with is TV. In the UK you have to have a license for BBC iplayer. Don't listen to your British friends when they say you don't need it. You do. If you don't have it you will get prosecuted. I don't wanna get prosecuted. It's super easy, even if it's kinda expensive, and hey, you get access to everything BBC. Just google tvl.co.uk and something will turn up. You can use that super handy bank card you got when you signed up for the bank account.
Transport. buses, trains and shit. First of all, make sure you download all the apps and inform yourself on how they work. It's gonna be confusing especially if your an American country hick like me so nows the time to learn. Get the maps. Get the bus schedules and routes. Pin them on your wall. Also, There's often some super cool discounts you can get if you sign up. Where I am in Scotland at the moment there's such a thing as a YoungScot Card, where you can get bus fair free if you're under 22. If you're not in Scotland, chances are there is something like that if you look. Transport can add up. Don't get Uber or a Taxi unless it's your only option, in which case, GET THE UBER. It's better to pay a butload of money for transport than be stranded somewhere alone. Your safety is more important than money.
Printers. You will need them. Often, there will be documents that you need to sign on paper, and so a printer will be needed. Google places where you can get things printed. If you are a student, make figuring out how to print things at your campus library a priority. I'm about to invest in my own printer just so I can skip this process because it's exhausting.
Voting. Just because you're not in your own country, doesn't mean you shouldn't vote. I'm from America, and care very much about the results of the next presidential election. If you're already registered to vote, try and get an absentee ballot.
Which brings me to mail. Get some stamps, and make sure they are the right ones. There will be postcard stamps, and mail stamps, and international stamps. Get the international letter stamps for your ballot and put them on because mailing is not paid for outside of the US. Then fucking mail it! (I'm swearing at myself so I remember to do this part when I'm sober)
Phone number. You will need a new one. Get an Esim card (should be in your settings if you have an iPhone) Make sure your friends have your new number and test it out to make sure it works when you're in a new country. One thing about Europe, is that the old buildings really suck for phone reception. Also, if you want to make this simpler and can't remember numbers very well, use Whatsapp or Instagram to message people.
Mess. You may go into this with certain ideas of granduer when it comes to personal organization. Be real. You won't be any more organized or tidy on your own than you were with other people. Just make sure that the essentials are accounted for and forgive yourself for the rest. Keep a drawer or a basket for all that important shit like bank statements or that letter that says they're opening an investigation because you haven't bought a tv license so it's all in one place and you don't lose anything. If it's urgent, pin it on your wall (get a bulletin board for this). Do your laundry. If you have your own washing machine and dryer, good for you. I don't, so figure out how the system works with the communal washers and get on that. Once again ask for help. Wash your sheets. Wash your pillowcases. WASH YOURSELF.
Hygiene. I hate it too, but it will make you feel better about yourself if you are clean and your teeth are brushed. This is the first thing to go when you feel in a slump. I know. I hate showers. I hate brushing my teeth, but not doing it makes my self-esteem go down the drain and my depression goes on a victory lap. Just do it. If you can't do anything else on this list, or you feel like everything is too overwhelming, do this. It will make a lot of other things feel doable.
Food. Okay, scratch that. This might be the most important thing. I am currently making a late night dinner of dried mangos and wine because I didn't have the motivation do get dinner tonight which is a prime example of what not to do. Because now I'm drunk and hungry. Get a fucking fridge! Get a microwave! Go to the grocery store and buy food. Even if it's ramen or mac and cheese. At least it's food. At this point, don't worry about eating healthy, just eat. Since I'm not allowed a mini fridge or a microwave, I have to time my meals so I get into the dining hall on time which results in this... So if you're in a similar case, set alarms for meal times, and GO TO THEM! If you miss it. Find a place that has cheap takeout that you will eat as a fall back option.
Groceries. Find a grocery store that has the things you need, and see what kind of membership or regular discounts you can get. You will need it. Don't worry about buying too much food, or buying too much junk food. If you're gonna overspend on something, better it be this and not something else. Eventually, you will get a sense of what you actually like to eat and what you don't. But for now, don't be afraid to buy something just to try it because it might become your new favorite food. Make a running list on your phone of what you need to buy and don't worry about overbuying. If you buy something you don't eat or don't want, give it away! Your neighbors or classmates or friends might want it and food is always a good way to meet people and form connections. At my old school, I became known as the one who would always have a bag of storebought cookies on me in class if anyone was hungry and didn't have any other options. I was proud of that reputation.
Don't restrict your space. It can get easy to walk the same path every day, and never venture outside of the area you know well. But every so often, try and use that bus pass you got, and go a little further afield. Just wander. You don't have to have a goal. Just explore. Living in a new place is the perfect time to do this. I recently ended up in a random church just because the gate was unlocked and the door was open. I ended up accidentally eavesdropping on a late night discussion of eleventh-century catholic manuscripts or something I can't remember and came home with a pamphlet for the catholic church I'm never going to join but it was an experience. Make awkward conversations with the people you haven't met before because maybe you'll end up crushing really hard for her even though she's straight and has a boyfriend and you'll spend the next week hopelessly pining but at least it will be something to mark the passing of time, creeping at this petty pace from day to day. Maybe the way she describes how she's learning to dissect cadavers and the way her eyebrows tilt will inspire you.
It's okay to be lonely. It's hard to adjust to living in a new place. Especially if you're a student at a new school. It may feel like everyone is making friends but you. That may be true. You may find that your neighbor has already met a guy and they are really cute together, and they no longer really want to hang out with you. You may find that the person you connected with really well now longer remembers your name but that's okay. It is a superpower, knowing how to be comfortable on your own. It's something you must learn before you can make a lasting connection with anyone. Those people who are making friends so fast are doing it because they are afraid to be alone. You aren't afraid.
Don't overcomit. Sometimes, you might feel so guilty about not donating to a freind's program to help survivers of domestic abuse in africa that you offer to design a website for them. But yuu're swamped. You have three essays due next week and you need to have an opinion about Homer's portrayal of Ithaka and you're terrified every second you spend not working on your essays, so that yiu ccan't relax even during breaks because you're constantly thinking you're behind but now you have to design a website. Don't fucking do that, What were yoy thinking you fuckin idiot. Just give your freind the money and tell her you can't do it.
Keep in touch with people. Don't fall off the map. There are people you love who are still out there. Your gramma wants to know how you're doing so give them a call, but not when you're drunk that will just make her anxious. Call your freinds from your old school. Ask them how they're doing. When tey tell you they're going on a date be happy for them and don't think bout how single you are. Fuck.
Invest in your projects. Don't forget what you love. Join that Good Omens fanfiction group even though it's one of the few things that you're not obligated to do. Don;t forget your hobbies. Watch the thing that David Tennent was in even though you don't have any prior interest in true crime and watch yourself fall into another spiral of hyperfixation.
Read Shakespeare. Relate so hard. Spend an inordinate amount of time memorizing the Yoric soliquiy from Hamlet. Spend a fortune on tickets to see David Tennent play Macbeth in the west end. Let it be your light. The only thing you are looking forward too at the moment.
You'e on your forth glass of wine. You havent neber been this drunk before becuse you are a syupid American who has just moved to the Uk unserpivused. and you're stressing about exams. You were supposed to be working.
Goodbye!

Missed a Ticket? How to Watch Wimbledon on TV 2025
Tumblr media
2024’s Wimbledon finals delivered everything fans craved. Alcaraz and Djokovic savaged expectations in a thriller, backed by electric crowd support. For Alcaraz, it was about defending his crown. For Djokovic? Proving his greatness, again.
Fans are expecting the two players back on the Centre Court this July. It has always been a battle between youth and legacy when the two players meet.
Alcaraz is widely known for being fast and having a fierce shot, while Djokovic has experience, having been in the industry for years. But is this Djokovic’s last run at Wimbledon? Let's wait and see.
Another player that we can’t ignore is Jannik Sinner. He has excellent endurance and is able to redirect pace. Don’t discount Briton Jack Draper either, who's working hard to find traction just after a Murray-esque coming-out party.
Women’s Draw: Experience vs. Ambition
Barbora Krejčíková left us stunned last year during the women’s match. She outfoxed Jasmine Paolini with her crafty net play. Even though Barbora still sets the bar for finesse, this season, all eyes will shift to World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Aryna is bent on mastering SW19 after past near-misses.
Get ready for top-flight rallies, unexpected angles, and fierce baseline wars under those iconic Centre Court skies. Also, keep an eye out when Coco Gauff steps on the court. Her earth-shaking serve, relentless grit, and the roar of her American crowd power a player who refuses to back down.
Also,Read: How To Spend The Perfect Day At Harrods?
Tournament Schedule
The tournament begins on June 30 and continues through two weeks. The tournament concludes on July 13 with nonstop excitement. The women's singles championship will determine its winner on Saturday, July 12, before the men's final takes place on Sunday, July 13. The outside courts will host matches starting at 11:00 am but the official start times remain unknown. The familiar tip-off time seems highly likely to continue.
How to Watch
Every shot and serve will air free on BBC One and BBC Two. Streaming options are available on BBC iPlayer, the BBC website, or the mobile app. The BBC sports digital coverage will ensure fans can follow the championship in real time. talkSPORT will provide live updates on both its radio stations and live blogs online, with coverage available via the talkSPORT app, DAB radio, smart speakers, or AM frequencies.
Ticket Information
It has always been challenging for fans to get Wimbledon tickets, which are on high demand. There is a ballot every year when fans have to sign up and try their luck. Note that the ballot is closed this year, and only successful applicants will enter Wimbledon.
The unlucky ones? Anyone can still join The Queue, a daily line of hopeful fans who can buy one show-court or ground-pass ticket each. Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until each court hits capacity. There’s no ironclad promise of entry, but queuing has become an essential slice of the Wimbledon ritual. For full details, check the official Wimbledon website. And if you're planning to stay nearby, Presidential serviced apartments in Kensington offer a convenient and comfortable base just a short ride from the tournament grounds.
Where to Buy Last-Minute Tickets
Fans who are excited to watch the live game still have a chance to buy tickets. You however need to be quick, noting that the seven-day countdown has already begun. Due to the high demand for tickets, the ballot has already closed down meaning the unlucky fans have to queue for tickets.
Currently, there are only a few places where you can buy official Wimbledon debenture tickets. At the time of this writing, the Wimbledon website outlines over 2,500 debenture seats that are still available on Centre Court and 1,250 on the No.1 Court. Prices start from £1,899. For those attending from central London, staying in Kensington apartments offers a stylish and well-connected base, just a short journey from the Wimbledon grounds.

Some Notes from Real Life:
We have had many visitors of late. My in-laws were talking about a bloke they've discovered called Steven Moffat, who wrote the sitcom Coupling and "that thing with Benedict Cumberbatch in". I would like to watch Coupling actually because I know some of my besties were watching it while I was away teaching in 2012, but vaguely remember that the first DVD of S1 went missing. This lead to me wondering if I have somehow had it this entire time. But I doubt it, because I would've known I'd borrowed it for The Abroad at the time.
My husband collected his Next shirt, which gives the overall impression of the same dark purple as The Shirt of Sex (of which he knows not), but a little sadly is actually woven from navy and pink threads. His comment: "it just looks purple to me."
In other marital news, it turns out that my husband has already watched most of The Responder starring Martin Freeman. Last year, with my mum! Not really, I was having a particular extremity of health crisis at the time. But they never finished and now I'm waiting for him to figure out how much he's seen so we can finish it together. Still though, is it not just a bit cheeky to have watched most of a series starring an actor I didn't yet know I cared about?
My husband has agreed in principle that when we finish House MD we can watch Fortysomething - a British sitcom in which Hugh Laurie plays a troubled British doctor. For fun, I have not mentioned that Benedict Cumberbatch plays the son. We're also watching the second season of The Traitors UK. Americans please be advised that it has a VERY different vibe to the US version, with all contestants unknown members of the public and teamwork actually expected!
My online film group has voted to watch the classic Clue this month. I'm looking forward to it, and thankfully the other members have agreed to basically just watch them chat on Zoom like a TV programme and submit my comments the next day. This is due to me constantly getting overexcited by it and giving myself a subsequent and dangerous ME/CFS flare.
As for sole viewing, I have begun the BBC miniseries of Dracula by Moffat and Gatiss (available on Netflix but not iplayer, somehow.) I'm enjoying it but can't help feel frustrated at the egregious amount of ignored opportunities to bloody well stake him. Growing up with Buffy really spoiled me in that regard. I am much looking forward to being able to watch @victorianpining 's Youtube video on it when I'm done.
However, given that I have less than a month of my free AppleTV+ subscription remaining, I need to focus my viewing efforts there. I've started Ted Lasso and have sampled The Studio and The Morning Show. I realised this morning that I've also got exactly one month of my National Theatre at Home pass remaining, so I need to watch as much theatre as possible! We really have been trying, but we're both always exhausted so it's just so tempting to stick The Traitors or House on again of an eve. Today I'm starting Present Laughter, because Andrew Scott.
Most dramatically, it turns out I might be getting an additional viewing partner soon.
In the process of messaging my enby femme friend the other day they revealed that they're about to become mostly bedbound too, for at least a couple of months. Initially I panicked, but the only reason I could think of aside from double leg breakage by drug dealers or some such, which seems extremely unlikely, was bottom surgery, and I was right. It's they/she now as well as Nickname/Femme Name.
I admit I was a little surprised, as she/they had told me initially that they considered themselves more at the feminine end of the spectrum, but I just didn't realise something so dramatic was on the cards. Sadly I've barely seen them in years because of my horrendous health and because of geography. We've never really talked about them being trans, aside from me asking if we were they/theming them or what the craic was going forward ahead of a big birthday party- which I was then too ill to attend.
Said friend has always been gender non-conforming, and after a brief visit during which said friend had a slightly different physical presentation and made me watch Project Runway until 3am, a mutual friend told me they'd come out as non-binary. I'll spare you the whole shebang no pun intended, but their presentation has become more and more femme and they've apparently been on hormones for several years. Including the time I visited and was like "so... I thought you were just doing flares forever but now it's skinny jeans eh? When did that happen?" and we watched an American present a dress made of birdseed.
Anyway, I've been researching the surgery and trying not to think about that period film in which Eddie Redmayne has a womb implant and subsequently dies- it's based on a true story. Even with the miracles of modern medicine, it really does baffle me how anyone can think that adults with full mental capacity would go through such a process on a whim, were that even available! I have to say that while I absolutely support my friend and trust their judgement, the thought of someone I love having such an extreme operation and recovery period is slightly harrowing. Especially because I honestly, perhaps ignorantly, didn't know they wanted it.
Anyway, learning of the intensive recovery period that may be needed has made me feel useful in being able to give tips on becoming mostly bedbound at least. I've also offered to invite said friend into my online film group and to watch and discuss a series with them. Perhaps they'll want to watch Coupling again!

New Whoniverse Spin-Off 'The War Between The Land And The Sea' announced at San Diego Comic-Con
Friday 26th July, the BBC and Disney Branded Television jointly announce their first brand new Doctor Who spin-off titled The War Between The Land And The Sea, during San Diego Comic-Con.
Leading the five-part series is Russell Tovey (Feud, American Horror Story: NYC) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Surface, Loki). The series will also see the return of UNIT alumni Jemma Redgrave (Doctor Who, Grantchester) who will reprise her role as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and Alexander Devrient (Doctor Who, Ted Lasso) as Colonel Ibrahim.
When a fearsome and ancient species emerges from the ocean, dramatically revealing themselves to humanity, an international crisis is triggered. With the entire population at risk, UNIT steps into action as the land and sea wage war. Created by Doctor Who showrunner and executive producer Russell T Davies, who wrote the spinoff with Pete McTighe (A Discovery of Witches, The Pact, Doctor Who), the series features the triumphant return of the Sea Devils, classic Doctor Who villains first seen in 1972.

Davies said: I’m so lucky to work with such a magnificent cast. And this is a huge, muscular, thrilling drama which will shake The Whoniverse to its foundations. When the Doctor’s not in town, the whole of humanity is in trouble.
Filming begins next month and will be directed by Dylan Holmes-Williams, director of two Doctor Who season one episodes: 73 Yards and Dot and Bubble. The series will air exclusively on Disney+ where available and BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K.
The War Between The Land And The Sea is produced by Bad Wolf, with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC. In addition to Davies, executive producers include Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter.

'Reunion,' the BBC Studios Sheffield Thriller With a Deaf Protagonist
“Reunion is an old-fashioned thriller that I hope feels like a classic ’70s American thriller but for the present day,” signs William “Billy” Mager as we are seated in an office in Sheffield, just around the corner from the set of the four-episode series for BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the U.K. BBC Studios is selling the drama internationally and launching it as a priority title at MIPCOM in…

i’ve heard before
(can’t say for sure whether or not this is true because i’m an american who sadly can’t access bbc iplayer to watch every single episode of classic who that has the master—i tried with a vpn and they still found me out and said i couldn’t watch it😔)
that during much of classic who the master is meant to be on their last regeneration, trying to find ways to stay alive and gain more regenerations. so i like to think that maybe (similar to the river situation) the doctor might not be seeing the master entirely in order. their childhood and growing up together and the academy obviously happened in order, but the modern series vs classic series? maybe an older doctor is seeing a younger master and trying to stop them from falling so low.
it’s unlikely that this is what the writers intended, if they did they would have made it much more obvious. it would have been the doctor seeking the master out rather than stumbling into each other every time. or the master making plans that incorporate the doctor.
i don’t know, i just hope they go into this idea more so. or go into why the doctor can’t go into the master’s past because it’s so tied with their own past. (though i feel like cutting off that story idea is kinda a bummer writing wise because it would be fun to see).

This is a gentle reminder that American viewers of Doctor Who are allowed to be excited for Doctor Who to drop on Disney+ at "prime time" just as the UK and Europe are allowed to be upset about it dropping it on iPlayer at midnight and having to wait 19 hours until it's on BBC One.
I've seen far too many posts hating Americans for this divisive decision made by BBC & Disney+. Please remember that if UK & EU residents didn't have a say in it, neither did the Americans. I don't remember having a choice. If Disney+ gave us an option to vote on it, I wouldn't have voted for this. I liked the 12pm CST/6pm GMT time slot for the 2023 specials; it seemed to work for everyone. If you need to blame somebody, let those somebodies be Disney+ and The BBC. It isn't the Americans' fault.
Do not let this divide the fandom. Remember, hate is always foolish, but love is always wise. Always try to be nice, but never fail to be kind.

yeah fuck the BBC for yet ANOTHER thing (we hate the BBC anyway on this blog, sorry).
the way they've done the release schedule for the new doctor who season is a fucking pisstake.
now I'm going to have to not go online for a whole fucking day to avoid spoilers because they'll be fucking everywhere. thanks, bbc. you're really fucking it up for your main viewers.
releasing it at midnight on BBC IPLAYER is not fucking good enough. I'm sorry, but it's really not. not everyone has iPlayer for a lot of good reasons, so making us UK lot wait another 18-17 hours just to watch it FOR FREE on TV is beyond just unfair.
Before anyone says anything, it technically isn't free because we all have to pay the TV licence because the BBC refuse to have adverts on their channels, so—
and for those who refuse or simply can't pay it for whatever reason have to put up with spoilers and other shit.
I really don't like how this is now american prime time and no longer british prime time. and me saying that has got nothing to do with america as a whole nor the people in that country, but it's literally a british show run by a major british network???
also can we just stop prioritising streaming services????? fml this is getting annoying. watch the viewership just nose dive
