-not like he would show any type of much reaction if you told him he'd be like "okay and?"

-sitting down beside him and telling him.

-he'll listen, sure. he'll be understanding, i guess. but his face remains neutral

-"and how am i supposed to help?" maybe he hurts your feelings js like that sometimes he will apologize with night cuddles

-but overall, he would help you. even tho he'll say he wasn't being all that nice at all but you know that deep down you keep that little bit of happiness in him

-if you're upset and go nonverbal, he will try his best to understand you and help you calm down, taking it seriously. he's really good at it

-he just wants to make sure that you're okay, nothing else matters to him.

basically so the plot is thag two of the batkids become gods in a relaly specific manner where no one knows they have powers and one of them wants to stop everyone everywhere forever from dying. and the first step he takes is eliminating all viral diseases. and this is obviously Very Bad and causes poison ivy(who is tuned in to like, plants n shit), to go bonkers because she feels it all die. and so like, everything has a purpose in the ecosystem, mosquitoes sistribute resources from the top of the food chain back down to the bottom and by being annoying they force certain patterns of behavior that benefit the ecosystem, and similarly viruses dont just exist to make life so sucks they effect patterns of behavior and keep populations in control. the cycle of life and death is really important to the ecosystem and just killing all viruses is really really reallay bad. and so i was thinking, ok what could this character do to enforce his view that all death is bad and should be prevented, without messing up this whole Thing where um. things that cause death tend to be, important.

and then i was like well, he could make an afterlife but he already didnt like that idea. and then i was like oh well he could create reincarnation where each person's consciousness is stored and then replicated in a random newborn, but then i was like wait thats a horror show. a world where reincarnation doesnt provably exist until a random newly minted god creates it in the 21st century by brute-forcing the idea and instead of the soul being wiped clean to make them a blank slate for new experiences and to create an individual unique new human, instead someone will always just be an extention of someone else, and when does the realization come? at birth? when theyre a few months old? when theyre ten? when does the personality of who that being was Going to be get overwritten by someone else? obviously if this dude is finding permanent cessation of existance to be bad he's going to want to preserve people how they are so it wouldnt be reincarnation in the traditional sense where you forget. so like imagine the sudden shift of waking up one day and realizing your toddler is a 37 year old man who died in a car crash and misses his wife deborah and they USED to be TIMMY who loved coloring. and timmy is just dead now. timmy's brain is infected by a parasitic being that will never allow the original personality to exist ever again. timmy is dead and never coming back. because timmy wasnt born with a soul, timmy had a consciousness forcably shunted into his brain at birth by a mad god that couldnt respect the natural order

and the thought of that kind of reincarnation that i invented based on a fanfic which does not feature, the thing i invented, was so "holy shit thats fucked up" that it made me stop and get horrified by reincarnation as a concept (<- not the thing i made up)
