BABA DHANSAR
Article publié pour la première fois le 08/04/2017
BABA DHANSAR
Jammu is the city of temples because much of the tourists are attracted towards jammu city because of the holy shrines and temples. One of them is BABA DHANSAR. Baba Dhansar is another holy place in the Jammu region. The presence of the age old Shiva temple at this place is the primary reason for the fame of the place. According to mythological beliefs, when Lord Shiva went to Amarnath to reveal his powers of immortality to Parvati, he left his serpent king Sheshnag at Anantnag. Sheshnag later took a human form as Vasudev and bore a son named Dhansar, who turned to be a saintly person. The place is named after this son of Sheshnag as Baba Dhansar. The major attraction of Dhansar, however, is a gushing spring which emerges from the rocks and disappears into a thick grove of trees, later re-emerging as a number of small waterfalls forming a pool flowing into the valley. It is quite a breathtaking sight to catch. The splendour of the valley blending with the spirituality of the place makes Baba Dhansar a perfect tourist spot that people from all walks of life can enjoy.

Buy Dried Morels
Article publié pour la première fois le 29/03/2016
Buy Dried Morels
Morel mushrooms are among the most expensive edible fungi in the world for the obvious reasons that they are not only delicious, but also have many health benefits. In fact, just a dried pound of morels will cost you a hundred of dollars but what you get is priceless. Even though morels are among the mushrooms that are easy to identify, you should know that a few look-alike exist, which might be either toxic or benign. Therefore, it’s important to know how to identify morels.
You might be asking yourself why it’s recommended that you buy dried morels. That’s why we thought it wise to outline some of the few health benefits of morel mushrooms. First, when morel mushroom is exposed to either sunlight or UV radiation, it becomes a great source of vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol). Studies have consistently shown that dietary D2 from morel mushrooms is just as effective as vitamin D2 and D3 supplements as far as raising and maintaining 25(OH)D levels is concerned. To be precise, you should buy dried morels because of the following health benefits:
Antioxidants
If there is one internal damage you must stay away from, then its stress. Many health conditions such as diabetes 1 and 2, cardiovascular disease as well as Parkinson’s disease are linked to oxidative stress. It’s therefore important that you consume antioxidant-rich food such as morel mushrooms. Again, studies have shown that antioxidants from morel mushrooms manages lipid peroxidation, which is a process that involves tissue damage and if it’s left unchecked, it might lead to inflammatory and cancer.
Protection against drug side effects
Some drugs such as gentamicin (an antibiotic), pharmaceutical as well as cispplatin (a chemotherapy drug) are notorious when it comes to creating side effects. When these drugs are given to mice, they have the ability to deplete the internal antioxidant system and cause kidney failure. Experts have confirmed that an aqueous-ethanol, which is an extract from morel mushroom, has the extraordinary ability to boost the internal antioxidant defense system and in that way, it protects you against toxicity that is caused by the antibiotic drugs as well as the chemotherapy.
Liver protection
Many disorders of the kidney and the central nervous system are associated with carbon tetrachloride (CCl4), which is an organic compound. Research has it that when you administer CCl4 with ethanol to animals, it will cause a lot of problems such as damaging their liver as well as depleting internal antioxidant stores. However, when Carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) is supplied along with an extract of morel mycelium, the liver will be protected from damage and at the same time, antioxidant reserves can be restored. Therefore, you should buy dried morels because it will provide therapeutic use especially as a liver-protecting agent.
Enhancement of immune system
Another reason you should buy dried morels is its immune-stimulatory property that is brought about by its special polysaccharide. It has a unique polysaccharide known as galactomannan, which is actually 2% of the dry morel mushroom. Galactomannan not only work on innate immunity, it also works in adaptive immunity through enhancing macrophage activity.

Chashme Shahi Gardens
Article publié pour la première fois le 23/05/2017
Chashme Shahi Gardens Chashme Shahi Garden, meaning ‘The Royal Spring’, is situated at the foothills of Zabarwan Mountains
in Srinagar. Covering an area that is 108 metres in length and 38 metres in width, this garden is
the smallest amongst the three Mughal Gardens in the city.Chashme Shahi, also called Chashma Shahi,
is one of the Mughal gardens built around a spring by Ali Mardan, a governor of Mughal emperor Shah
Jahan in 1632.The exquisite creation of the Mughals is remarkably reflected in the parks and gardens
of Srinagar. One of them is Chashme Shahi garden. As you enter the Garden the sound of water flowing
will attract you. Rows and columns of beautiful and colorful flowers lined up all around the Chashme
Shahi make a beautiful landscape. There are three Chasmes (Springs) in the Chasme Shahi. The biggest
one is at the entrance, the other two small ones seem to be at the adjacent sides of the main Spring.
There whole of the area has been made out of rock cut stones, layered to give a perfect symmetry. The
garden is located in the Zabarwan Range, near Rajbhawan (Governors house) overlooking Dal Lake in
Srinagar, Kashmir. The garden is quite famous for spring of energizing digestive mineral water inside
it. Chasma Shahi Garden of Kashmir, India, offers a striking view of the scenic Dal Lake and the
neighboring mountains. Chashme Shahi is the smallest of the three Mughal Gardens in Srinagar but not
less beautiful or charming. According to English writer and traveler Aldous Huxley, Chashme Shahi is,
“architecturally the most charming of the gardens near Srinagar.” The garden is built around a fresh
spring, from which it also gets its name. It was named after the clan of a saint woman, Rupa Bhawani
who found the spring.Spring water ran down through the garden and kids enjoyed in the several small
fountains, built in Mughal style. Though there are Chinars and many beautiful flowers, the main attraction
of the garden is the fresh spring and the stylish house built to shelter it.The best time to visit
the Chashmashahi Gardens are the months of May and June. The plants and the trees are at full bloom
during these months adding to the beauty of the garden.

Mubarak Mandi Palace
Article publié pour la première fois le 10/04/2017
Mubarak Mandi Palace
Jammu city was ruled by many of the rulers.Dogra rulers were one of them. They build many places and constructed many of the buildings to make jammu as a tourist spot. Built over a span of 150 years, Mubarak Mandi Palace served as a massive palace for rulers of the Dogra dynasty. It was infact the main seat of the kingdom until 1925, after which Raja Hari Singh moved the royal seat to Hari Niwas Palace in Northern Jammu. Prone to earthquakes and fires, parts of this building, like the Gol Ghar, lie now in ruins, adding to the palace?s old world charm. The Pink Hall inside the palace has now been converted to a museum that holds several miniature paintings and emperor Shah Jahan?s golden bow and arrow, among other interesting things. The architecture of the palace is borrowed from European Baroque, Mughal and Rajasthani styles, bringing forth a unique blend of different cultures, that adds a distinct character to both the palace and the city.

woven with special needles called kanis, therefore become it name Kani Stole.Kani work is the laborious
and effort some work done with small sticks locally known as Kani. The threads are woven onto these tiny
Kani’s and then spun with hands to weave a complete shawl hence the name and an increased value that it
commands. The Kani work done in a stole or a shawl is so intricate and requires so much of patience and
focus, that a simple stole like this one, takes at least a year to be fashioned and brought to you as a

weave beyond an inch a day while being at the loom. The Kani Shawl being oblong in shape generally remains
in lx2 meters in size. Two craftsmen can complete a shawl within 2 to 3 years and in some cases the period
of weaving even stretches to 5 long years. The most exploited of motifs in Kani Shawl is the mango shaped
almond, known as badam in local parlance. Kairy is the Hindi words for mango, hence the reason for fame
that the motif has found in India under it. Some equate it with “Paisley” motif because it could not avoid

Which Saffron Is Best
Article publié pour la première fois le 30/03/2016
What every chef wants is to prepare the best foods for their customers and that’s why many of them have always asked the question, which saffron is best. I bet every home or commercial user of saffron has at one point asked the same question and that’s why we decided to write this article on the same today.
During my vacations, I like travelling across the world and I have asked many chefs to tell me which saffron is best. When I asked chefs in Spain this question, all of them said that Spanish saffron has no match. When I asked the same question to a chef in Iran, he told me without a second thought that Iranian saffron is the best. I went down to India and when I asked the same questions, the chefs there told me that their Kashmiri saffron is the best. So, whom do you think is telling the truth? Well, for me, I think all of them are right because the answer they gave me is what they believe is the truth. I bet that if I were to ask you the same question, you’ll probably tell me that the type of saffron you grew up with is the best. For me, all pure saffron, irrespective of the region it comes from, are good.
Nevertheless, in case we measure saffron based on its potency, then we’ll find out that saffron from some part of the world is more potent as compared to other types of saffron that come from other regions of the world. For instance, Kashmir in India has perfect conditions that support the cultivation of saffron and for that reason; it produces the most potent saffron as compared to those cultivated in any other part of the world. Because Kashmir saffron is the most potent of all the others, it’s also priced like no other saffron from any part of the world. Simply put, Kashmir saffron is the best.

How To Use Saffron
Article publié pour la première fois le 30/03/2016
So, you love saffron and you don’t know how to use it. Or, you’re a chef and your customers prefer that you use saffron in your cooking but you don’t know how. Well, sit back, relax and read along because this article is meant to explain just that. Grind or crumble the correct number of threads First, you must remember that you should not add saffron threads whole into the cooking but instead, get the required number of threads and crumble them first into a small container. Or, you can grind the saffron threads in a pestle & mortar until they are fine enough because the finer your saffron, the more the food will have the uniform yellow color. If you’re preparing pilau for example, you can crumble or grind your saffron threads into pieces that are 1-3mm long and in that way, the food will have a yellow background color with some hotspots of rich orangey-red. Make a saffron infusion Secondly, you need to make a saffron infusion. To do that, simply add just a small amount of pre-heated liquid either to a small container or to a pestle & mortar. Based on your recipe, the pre-heated liquid can be water, milk or stock. Leave it for about 30 minutes to allow its color and its flavor to fuse out. You can as well leave it to infuse for even 12 hours in your fridge. You should not strain out the saffron bits if what you’re making doesn’t have to be clear such as a jelly.
Get the right saffron quantities To get the right quantity of saffron for cooking, you can measure them in pinches, the number of threads or in grams. In case your kitchen lacks the laboratory scales, then you can measure the saffron quantities by counting the number of threads that your cooking requires. Counting the threads is actually the most accurate method of getting the right saffron quantity required.
