Marinette

Marinette has a typical teen girl body type. I don't think that her legs and arms would be weak tho. She helps around in the bakery and has to keep up with Kim. Sometimes she even runs with him in the morning (he takes a slower pace ofc).

She does have neat handwriting when she isn't in a rush, which doesn't happen that often honestly. Sometimes her notes are readable sometimes not, it's a gamble. She tries to make them look nice tho, she has a few highlighters she uses constantly.

Chris

Chris has a sort of hourglass shape. I always drew him as slender and like. Why did I do that. It's a crime that I haven't drawn him chubby like of course he will be. Mf sits around all day and goes on a walk sometimes like bruh. Other than that he has really veiny hands, another thing he got from Arthur along with his baby face lol (although, Arthur’s veins are even more prominent, so much they're kinda concerning). I like how I drew them :]. The baby face is not gonna change soon unless he stops transforming which he definitely won't do. Btw, despite being the weakest of the trio as a civilian, he's actually the strongest while transformed (with the lion ofc)

As for his handwriting, it's not bad. Sometimes he squishes the words together to not waste space and it ends up not being readable.

Stephan

He's already pretty athletic, he used to do competitive gymnastics and ice skating in his free time. Used to, he sprained his wrist (mostly out of stress and to occupy his mind to keep him from thinking about Viktor,,,, it's just.. a thing he does). Then they moved to Paris anyway, so he just stopped completely. He gained a little weight so he started running in the morning, to also get to know the city better. He also starts going to the gym with Kim after a while. His freckles are mostly on his face and neck

Surprise, his name is Štěpán lol. Would Štefan/Stefan be more fitting? Yes, but I like Štěpán more. Anyway, his handwriting is really neat, he's left-handed btw (idk just vibes). His notes are also nicely organized so he's the one to go to out of the yellow group if you need them.

Alya

Alya, my girl, I love her. She doesn't do much physical activity, she usually just sits around doing something on her phone or laptop. But after The Butterfly appears she starts running around more, to get the footage for Ladyblog. Her stamina gets so good omg

Her handwriting is not that bad. It honestly depends on the day and mood, sometimes she can't even read it herself xd

Chloe

Chloe is another athlete, she did gymnastics, track running, ice skating and sometimes ballet and fencing. Her legs are so powerful you have no idea. I know that's a lot of sports and her grades reflect that which is why she needs a tutor. She stopped ice skating, fencing, and ballet when she was younger and now she just does them for fun, when she gets the time ( ,,, she honestly doesn't lol). But now she also quit the other ones as she went into lycee because her grades were too bad and Andre put his foot down (he mostly just told her that Audrey would be disappointed oof). Btw, Aurore’s mom was her ballet teacher :) definitely no rivalry there 

She writes in cursive? She does, to make herself stand out and appear fancy. It does look fancy but she focuses on that too much so sometimes she doesn't write everything down :/

Kagami

My girl is BUFF. Her main focus is on fencing, which is how she met Chloe :D. She has a private gym wherever she lives, so she trains there. She also has an interest in archery and sometimes ice skating so she does that but also just regular sparring. But again, her main focus is fencing, she's already one of the best but she can be better. Her freckles are mostly on her face (her nose to be specific) and are more sparse on her body

Her handwriting, like everything else about her, is bold.

Lila

What do I say about her? She cares about her appearance a lot and she knows she's pretty. She exercises at home but also goes to the gym sometimes (she has to watch out for her asthma tho). Her self-control fails when it comes to sweets but it goes to her thighs mostly which she doesn't mind as much. Her tummy and fingers annoy her tho

Pretty handwriting. She tries to make her notes pretty but gets so occupied with that, that she doesn't even pay attention to the lesson and just the appearance (wow really subtle lol)

Nino

He's the least athletic out of the three besties, he doesn't even try to catch up anymore xd. He can barely run a lap (same tbh). 

His handwriting takes up space and is sometimes unreadable. That's not really an issue because he remembers stuff more by listening so he doesn't take notes. He just looks at Marinette’s (or Stephan’s after they meet) if he needs to.

Kim

Another athletic fella. He does track running and swimming. He did track sooner than swimming but he likes swimming more and wants to focus on it (it's also how he and Ondine met). And like I mentioned before, he runs in the mornings and then starts going to the gym with Steph. So yeah, another strong legs lol

His handwriting takes up SO much space. He goes through so many notebooks, it's also not that readable xd and it's not like he can focus on the study sessions with Nino and Marinette, they usually just end up playing UMS3. (he always loses if you're asking)

Juleka

Jules! She's pretty thin. She walks around a lot and forgets to eat sometimes. Especially when she's studying. Her collarbone is really prominent, she also has bony hands.

Her handwriting is small, sometimes unreadable

Luka

He has a belly button piercing!!!! (very important information imo) That's it. bony hands also

Sabrina

Just an average teen girl's body, she exercises at home at least once a day.

Her legs are strong, she just flies around all day. She skates to school every day (which is like 45 mins on foot). Then she goes to a skate park or a roller skating rink.

Her handwriting is somehow worse than Luka's, like it's completely unreadable, just cat scratches.

Mylene

She loves walking around, just taking in the atmosphere and nature

She has really small handwriting, the words look lonely on the page

Max

He sits around a lot but he makes sure to exercise to make sure his body is healthy. He also watches his diet.

His handwriting is the best out of the class but his notes look less nice than Sabrina’s. He always writes down his full name

Rose

She has a hard time gaining and maintaining weight (even if we ignore her allergies) so she eats a lot and doesn't exercise much. Her chronic cough also doesn't help

He's a lot like Chris, except he gets forced to do stuff by Alix

You think the Miracle Kids ever get annoyed that there is just merch of them? Like since they have secret identities, their hero forms are in the public domain so anyone can use and make merch for the heroes. But the kids will never see a cent of the profits made from that.

Miraculous Adventurer Au 3: Time to spill the tea!

So...anyone remember back here when I said "this AU is still alive and kicking"? Yeah it's kicking alright. Kicking and screaming as I drag it out of my WIP pile! Welcome back to the show everyone, it's been a while! If you guys want a recap of what this Au is about (+ the Origins episode) I highly encourage you to go read part 2 of this Au here. Yes, I did just link it twice. No, I don't care. Anyway, this is just an info/idea dump for this AU, because it was in my head yesterday and refuses to let me write anything until I rant about it!

First off, I wanna explain the magic system a little better. People don't have actual "classes" like DnD, they just happen to be good at certain things and not great at others, just like real-life proficiencies! There's plenty of types of elemental magic like Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Thunder, Light, Dark, etc. but not all of them can be casted by humans. Some magic subtypes are excusive to certain races (for example plant-related Earth magic is a druid-only thing), and others are very very rare, to the point where only a few people in the whole world can use a certain type of spells. It doesn't really need to go beyond "medieval fantasy magic", so I'm trying not to overcomplicate it. You're here for the characters and the lore, anyway.

Secondly, let's talk characters! I have almost everyone from the Miraculous Cast making an appearance in this AU, some as adventurers who encounter the Core 4 party (Ladybug, Chat Noir, Carapace and Rena Rouge), some as other roles! Here's a short list to give you an idea of what everyone does! Oh, and I should mention that everyone is in their early to mid twenties here, concerning taverns and the like. The legal drinking age in Medieval Fantasy Land is 18, so we're all good.

Marinette: Adventurer and aspiring fashion designer, travels with "Team Miraculous", including Chat Noir, Nino and Alya. Her adventurer name is Ladybug, and she really didn't mean to get wrapped up in all this hero business. Turns out wanting some extra cash can really go arwy if you tango with the local cat enthusiast. Marinette is the daughter of two bakers from a backwater village, and has always dreamed of being a famous seamstress in the Capital. Now an adult and having saved up for the trip, she ends up in a small town not far from her own home. Wanting additional funds for when she eventually arrives at the city of her dreams, Marinette decides to offer her services to any adventurer whose clothing might need adjustment or repair. Surely this won't lead to her signing up with the Guild, right? Cue the Origins episode from part 2.

Adrien: Son to Gabriel and Emilie Agreste, Prince of the Kingdom. Isolated in his childhood to be protected from political scheming, Adrien has only a few friends that he can rely on. His cousin Felix, and a rich noble girl named Chloe Bourgeois who took an interest in him when they were children. A few months ago, he recieved a marriage proposal from an eastern kingdom, and his parents introduced him to Princess Kagami, a stoic but passionate girl who he becomes fast friends with. But one day, tired and suffocated by his palace life, Adrien seeks to live out his own life away from rules and regulations. With the help of his betrothed and cousin, he and Felix switch places, allowing Adrien to don the mask of Chat Noir and freely travel as an adventurer.

Alya: A girl from a small village in the outskirts of the Kingdom, Alya has a high potential for magic powers. Unfortunately, no matter what type she tries to cast, she has great difficulty with even the simplest of spells, leading her to develop a desire to discover mysteries and the arcane as a way to try out new methods of manifesting this supposed potential. During an encounter with Ladybug and Chat Noir, Alya finds out she's proficient in Illusion Magic, for which a caster hasn't been seen in at least a century.

Nino: Childhood friend and later boyfriend to Alya, who happily supports her mystery solving and looks after his fiery and lovable girlfriend. Has a talent for music and defensive magic, and is a local bard. He knows their small village won't keep Alya occupied forever, and once she manifests her illusion magic, decides to follow in the footsteps of the adventurers who saved her and travel the land at Alya's side.

Chloe: Daughter to a backwater Baron, she's been spoiled her whole life in lieu of any parental attention. Her mother is famous in the world of high society, and so Chloe often gets invited to balls and functions where she presents herself as cold and untouchable despite her techincally low station. Once meeting the young prince Adrien, Chloe felt he was unprepared to deal with the "snakes" of the royal court, and took to being an overprotective friend through their childhoods. She still has unresolved anger issues regarding parental figues, and is extremely jealous of a village girl named Marinette, whose town her father's manor happens to be near, for having the loving parents she's always wanted.

Felix: Cousin to Prince Adrien and son of the late Duke Fathom of Lunden. Coming from a prestigious family and looking almost identical to his cousin due to the Graham De Vanily family having historically superior genetics, Felix is not much different than other nobles in terms of attitude. Cold, calculative and extremely cunning, he thrives in situations where backhanded compliments and polite threats are the norm. Having been isolated from the world by his father to be moulded into the "perfect heir", Felix lacks proper social skills, making up for this fault with sarcasm and quick wit.

Kagami: Princess to one of the Eastern Kingdoms, Kagami Tsurugi is the daughter of a queen despised by her people. Perhaps using her last bit of sense, Tomoe Tsurugi has sent her away to be married off to a western prince, who surprisingly turns out to be quite sweet and kind-hearted. However, while she could see herself and Prince Adrien becoming great friends, there exists no true spark of love between them despite his parents' enthusiastic support of their engagement. Kagami is stoic and prefers those who refuse to hesitate or mince their words...and happens to fall in love with exactly such a man. Adrien's cousin Felix, who quickly falls for her in turns during the few short weeks of wedding preparations. Explanaing the situation to Felix's mother and Kagami's fiance, the four devise a plan to ensure everyone gets their happy ending. With Adrien hurrying away to a life of adventure, Kagami is left to adjust to court life with Felix at her side, needing only to ensure Gabriel and Emilie don't realize their son is not who he seems...

Luka: Travelling bard and former boyfriend to one Marinette Dupain Cheng, what Luka lacks in magical profiency is made up for with great empathy and a golden heart. Coming from the family of a famous pirate, Luka sought to venture the world by land, and make a legitimate living unlike his mother, Anarka. Trusting the retired pirate queen with the safety of his younger sister Juleka, Luka left home to travel, and happened upon a village girl he quickly fell in love with. Despite their mutual feelings for one another, Luka still had big dreams of performing in the royal capital someday, and asked Marinette to come with him so they could be together. Unwilling to abandon all she's ever known, she refused his offer, leading to a mutual breakup. Two years later, Luka happens to visit Marinette's home town again, only to realize she's left it behind. Determined to find his one true love, Luka sets out to find out where she's gone, making new friends along the way.

Okay, that's it for the main cast! I have some details about the secondary characters such as Alix, Kim, Mylene, Ivan, miss Bustier, etc. but I'll add them at a later post. If you're interested in someone specific, feel free to shoot me an ask!

Thirdly and lastly, the storyline! I'll be honest, it doesn't necessarily have to be concrete! Since Gabriel is a standup guy and his wife is very much alive, there is no Hawkmoth! I won't spoil if Lila is or isn't here, that's for a later post, but aside from her...there isn't really a villain here. The Adventurer Au is only meant to be a light-hearted slice-of-life type of story, with the occasional beats thrown in regarding the Lore. For example, Alya and Nino becoming adventurers and quickly joining up with Ladynoir to form Team Miraculous. Chloe calling them back to her manor for a job, and joining up with the gang as Queen Bee for a short time. Ladybug bumping into Luka at some point. The Team finally arriving at the Capital, where Marinette has to wrestle between staying with her friends or going after her dreams. Obviously much more, and I do have an entire plotline about what happens when they finally arrive at the Capital regarding Adrien/Chat Noir, Felix and Kagami! That's actually going to be the subject matter next time, since I really want to share it with everyone! Until then, Stay Miraculous!

As a huge Adrien fan who was horrified and disgusted by what the show has done to him (especially the season 5 finale) I am so grateful to have found your blog! I hope you don’t mind but I would like to vent my feelings a little to someone who understands.

As an abuse victim with a controlling father I connected with Adrien from the beginning and I was so excited to see his story play out. I thought it could be another Zuko type of character arc where he slowly overtime comes to realize he is being abused and that the way his dad has treated him is wrong and eventually stand up to him and break free of his dad’s abuse and control. I was eagerly watching and waiting what I thought would be such an amazing journey ahead of Adrien. I loved seeing him finally able to attend public school and getting a chance for freedom through his miraculous and being able to make real friends. I thought all of this would help him slowly build up that support system to help him continue to take more control of his life. I couldn’t wait to see Adrien slowly start to heal and gain a found family with people like Nino Alya and even Ladybug as Chat Noir (these were the early days when I genuinely thought they were a team). The episode where all of Adrien’s guy friends threw him a party was so much fun and I was happy to see he had made so many friends who had his back.

In that one episode (can’t recall the name right now) where Luka was making instruments and seeing Adrien a bit aimless and unsure of his future I remember thinking it will be so wonderful to watch him come to figure out who he is and what he wants to with his life outside of his father’s expectations. To see him forge his own identity (something he’d already begun doing as Chat Noir). I went through my own journey of discovering who I am and who I want to be after breaking free of my dad’s abuse. It’s beautiful and empowering and I couldn’t wait to see Adrien go through something similar.

I was a little worried by episodes like Chat Blanc and Ephemeral that showed futures where Adrien learned his dad was Hawk Moth and fell under his control due to his emotions spiraling out of control. It was completely understandable given such a situation and revelation. But I figured the reveal will just need to happen in a way that gives Adrien time to process and work through it before he goes to confront his dad as Hawk Moth and defeat him with Ladybug.

But then he quickly started losing his support system and friends. Things were never quite the same between him and Nino after Rocketear. Chloe became too awful and he had no choice but to cut ties. Ladybug completely disregarded his feelings and never listened to him and he was forced to be HER support system and keep his feelings and problems to himself.

I didn’t understand why this was happening. I stayed in deep denial about senti-Adrien right up until the finale because I just couldn’t fathom them actually doing something so completely horrific especially to one of the leads of the show. I didn’t understand why suddenly everything was regressing and becoming worse for Adrien. He lost his support system and friends. His dad became even more abusive and controlling than ever before in season 5 and then the finale happened.

I truly felt physically sick to my stomach by everything that happened in the finale. It was such a slap in the face to me as an abuse victim. Seeing Adrien trapped in that room. Watching him completely stripped of all autonomy and not allowed to take part in the final battle. And then he never even got to know the truth about his dad and was made to believe his abuser was a hero who he should aspire to be like. He never learned he was a sentimonster never allowed to have any control over his life. He also decided he didn’t need to figure out what he wants to do with his life or who he is because all that matters to him is loving Marinette. It was awful. A living nightmare! The absolute worst show finale I have ever seen in my life. It was all a lie. Adrien was never going to get any kind of character arc or growth. Never get to confront his abusive dad, never get to be anything but Marinette’s satellite love interest. No goals or dreams of his own. And made into a sentimonster (I firmly believe that whole thing is a retcon he wasn’t a sentimonster in the beginning) stripping him of any agency or autonomy. Lied to by the person who is supposed to love him but instead treats him terribly. Forced to see his abuser as a hero.

I am sick, horrified, and devastated by what the show has done to Adrien. I saw so much of myself in him and he got the worst possible “happy” ending. Handed from one controlling abuser to the next with no hope of ever breaking free or even realizing that he needs to. The writers have given the biggest f you to all the abuse victims out there with such an abysmal heartbreaking ending.

It really is cruel how much more sympathy Miraculous directs at the abusers in its narrative than the victims. We get to learn all the reasons the abusers have for what they do, how they feel about everything, how they truly do care so the abuse shouldn't matter and they are the ones who get, not just forgiven, but vindicated, proven to be correct in a way that they don't need forgiveness. Right as Adrien is finally ready to say his father's treatment of him is wrong, has always been wrong, our hero shuts him down, tells him he is wrong for being so ungrateful for being angry at the man who saved her and the world.

Like, sure, it's a lie and Marinette feels really bad about it throughout the London Special, but it's not like that lie is ever going to be properly unpacked in the story. Even if Adrien learns the truth, the pieces have already been laid out so that he will instantly forgive Marinette, that he will understand her totally selfless reasoning and vindicate her. Abusers and abuse apologists get all the sympathy and vindication, and it's granted to them by the abuse victims of the story, whose feelings are always treated as secondary to what the people who harm them are thinking and feeling.

Even Emil’s introduction serves to further vindicate Gabriel. These two supposedly unrelated men are carbon copies of each other in looks and mannerisms, and the reason for this is to further enforce the idea of them as loving family men who just have difficulty with expressing their care and that means we should view them as victims of circumstance and celebrate the bare minimum they manage of not always being abusive. There's a difference between acknowledging that abusers are people and not always abusing their victims and celebrating abusers for these facts, and Miraculous does the latter with its constant insistence that people like Gabriel should be remembered for the good they did while the bad they did gets almost completely ignored.

Many people defending Miraculous say this isn't glorifying abuse, that it's just “letting them off too easily”, which just begs the question: how much further would a kids’ show need to go with its blatant abuse apologia to qualify as “glorifying” by this standard? Do we need a character to say: “man, it sure is good Gabriel abused Adrien into submission so that Marinette can enjoy a perfect, subservient boyfriend!” Because, like, no one might say that, but it's very much the implied takeaway.

What I want more than anything else in life, is for Nino to find out that Adrien is chat noir.

Adrien finally gets to talk to someone about it - literally one person knows his identity and it’s his girlfriends ex

Nino makes up terrible excuses to get Adrien out of the way to transform (while alya is doing the same for mari)

Nino and Alya actually have a secret between them that they cannot share, it’s somebody else’s secret. I imagine them both feeling bad they are keeping a big secret for each other

Nino remembering when he said all those terrible things about chat to Adrien 😰

Bonus: throw luka into the mix and have them all try to distract each other so Mari and Adrien can transform
