"I'll see you later, Sakura!" I droned with satisfaction, giving her a one-armed hug as she did too, our arms filled with only a couple of bags while doing it.

Sakura released herself from the hug after a few seconds, still donning that warm smile plastered on her face. "See you tomorrow, yeah?" She asked.

"For what?" I replied in confusion.

"Lady Tsunade said she'd like to meet up with us," Sakura said, taking this in characteristically.

"I think she does miss us, but she doesn't say that," I said with a chuckle, leaving my glossy lips open. "I guess I should not drink too much news here tomorrow night."

"I'll see you, {Y/n}," She said while waving walking away.

"Bye, love!" I replied.

I pulled my keys from my bag and slid the key into the lock that was positioned on the traditional sliding door. With an exhausted chuck, I stepped in, slumping down on the step up into the house; slipping the ninja shoes off, placing them on the rack, seeing another pair—male pair.

I opened my lips as I started to wonder whose they might be, my heart flattered at the thought of Sasuke having to be back, its long past a day, absolutely late into the night—who knows for how long he has been back.

I nibbled on my bottom lip again. Sasuke has come to visit three times in the two years he's been out. When Sasuke came back a few months ago he said he wouldn't be coming back for a couple of years and now look at him, he's here. It's odd, I wonder if something had gone wrong?

I place my bags next to the stair case that leads up to the bedrooms.

I have yet to see Sasuke up and around our house; by now, I assume that he is soundly asleep and probably tired. I pushed the door of our bedroom open, and right in front of me is my lover, soundly sleeping in his deep sleep on our bed, with the dark blue cover across his full body as he snuggles into the sheet. It brings a sight that only brings a gentle smile across my lips.

I silently walk over to Sasuke's side of the bed. The hand itself was placed coquette-like on the cheek exposed to me. I bent down so that I could apply a warm, tender kiss to his forehead. I could feel his body easing into the touch of my hand and smiled, because even from a kiss, that feeling had been transmitted to me.

I had just started on the way to the bathroom when, literally only a moment before I could remove my hand from Sasuke's pale cheek, I was holding another hand. Turning back to look, I see Sasuke's weary eyes peering into mine, and I immediately frown in worry.

"Sorry, dear," I murmured quietly, leaning down to look into Sasuke's eye's. "I woke you."

"Don't stress," Sasuke hummed back with a tired sigh.

"'M just going to go have a shower and I'll be right back," I bumbled on, but Sasuke wouldn't let go of my hand. "Are you all right, my dear?"

Sasuke hummed in response, showing he was fine. "I won't be too long, Sasuke," I answered. "But it will take longer if you don't let me go," I added with a soft smile.

I watched Sasuke as he got up slowly, still holding my hand, his head drooping to my stomach for a moment of silence, showing he was tired. My other hand brushed the hair out of his face, and I placed a kiss at the top of his head.

"You wanna come with me?" I had said, and he had nodded his head tiredly against my stomach. "Alright."

"You go ahead, I'll be there in a second," Sasuke mumbled, drawing back from me and looking up at me with those onyx and purple eyes.

"Okay," I smiled softly, and Sasuke released his grip on my hand.

"I figured a bath would be better; you seem really tired," I hummed as I watched Sasuke slump down on the stool beside the bath, leaning his head against the wall.

I let out a sigh and turned back before going to the cabinets under the sink to grab some bath oils and some vanilla scented body soap. "My love," I muttered as I realized just how tired Sasuke is. I had no idea as to why he would be that tired, as the last few times he came back home he seemed normal.

Maybe that's it—something happened to Sasuke, and I just didn't catch it, and now he can't manage. Man, I really am a horrible girlfriend. So stupid.

I rummaged for some facial lotions and serums for myself, but such a funny thought came across my mind. Sasuke won't mind if I apply these things to his face, now would he?

A smile rose to my face, and I saw Sasuke look at me through the mirror, his expression suspicious, and I simply let out a soft giggle. Watched him shake his head and lean it back onto the wall, a small smile on his face. Well, whatever it is I'm doing sure cheers him up.

"Ah, are you hungry, love?" I asked and added salts, oils, and body lotion to the bath.

"Eh, a little bit," Sasuke mumbled.

"That means you are. What would you like for dinner? If we go outside, we could go out to a fancy restaurant. Or I can cook something," I replied sarcastically, adding an eyeroll about his small fib.

"I'll stay in," remarked Sasuke as he stood up. Heck, much to my surprise, he stood behind me, wrapped an arm around my waist, and whispered sulkily against the side of my neck, "Beef tomato curry." I smiled, but of course he couldn't see me. "Okay."

I chuckled softly. "But it's gonna take a couple of minutes. That's fine?"

"Yeah," Sasuke hummed shortly.

"Okay, then. Enter," I said, walking around gently in his arm. "I'm going to start dinner, and then I'll come in with you." Sasuke gave me a soft kiss before pulling away, his hand moving from my waist to cupping my cheek. "Don't be too long," Sasuke mumbled.

"Ten minutes, love," I said. "I just need to slice things and put them in with broth.

Back into the bathroom I went, well ten minutes later, by that time I was pretty good at cutting up a bunch of stuff in a hurry. The door slid open with a soft push, and my eyes landed on Sasuke. He was nearly asleep in the bath; at the sight, a soft smile touched my lips. My tired boy.

I peeled off my ninja clothes and stacked them next to Sasuke's grey sweats, as that was all he was wearing. I put the serums and facial creams on the rim of the bathtub before I slid into the warm water.

In forty five minutes dinner will be ready plus another ten minutes to cook the rice.

And I press myself down over Sasuke's lap and watch him open his eye, with the rim of the Rinnegan just peaking from under his fringe. My hand cups his cheek as I look down at his skin. The condition of his skin feels pretty dry. I had been planning to use my serums and my skincare anyways, but then again, Sasuke had first dibs.

I squeezed some of the serum out onto the tips of my fingers and started applying the thick liquid, brushing over his features, my fingers slipping under his fringe. I knew quite well he didn't like me pushing it up, though his nose scrunched ever so slightly when I did it, which I found rather cute.

"When did you come home?" I asked calmly.

"At about midday," he repeated. "I had hoped you'd be at home."

"I'm sorry, Love. Was out shopping," I replied, and remembered the bags downstairs; I had left them full, not only with groceries but with some new clothes.

I smoothed some of the moisturizing lotion across his face, just marveling at the beauty in front of me—it was just so flawless. "You said you wouldn't be coming back for a while," I said through a mumble, and Sasuke's hand just covered mine over his cheek.

Sasuke sighed before replying, "Nah, I wasn't feeling too well-" "What? Are you sick?" I asked, worried. My other hand went to his forehead, but I found that he did not have a fever and a temperature attack. Sasuke is acting funny. "Well," I went on, "you look tired, Sasuke. Please relax for me."

He nodded once more and began to hum as he clipped his eyes contently while I continued to clean him up. I noticed that he was actually really clean, though his skin is very dry.

"My love?" I asked as Sasuke gently opens his eyes.

"Yeah," he mumbled.

"Did you shower before I got here?"

"I would've done that," Sasuke answered. "I wasn't gonna go in bed dirty, I know how much you don't like the sheets getting dirty too fast."

'Yeah,' I smiled before letting my hands rest soft against the skin about his shoulders and neck. The quiet lasted longer than a few moments, though my lips parted and I asked again, 'Sasuke, why did you come home early? You said—you said you would be gone for a couple of years.

"I missed what home felt like," Sasuke replied and I saw the lump he swallowed in his throat.

My brows furrowed in confusion. "Don't worry, Sasuke. Home will always be here, wherever you go," I murmured, leaning my forehead against his.

"I missed my home," Sasuke repeats and I cupped his cheeks.

My lips ghosted over his as I spoke, "You're home, love."

"I want you to come with me," Sasuke said.

"What?" I said breathlessly.

"I want my home to come with me."

Understanding dawned on me. He wasn't talking about our house; Sasuke was talking about me.

His arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer, and I let out a small gasp. "I'll come, Sasuke," I hummed as I closed my eyes and let my lips grace his own.

He tasted like frustration and anger, but with an underlying flavor of caramel; peculiarly, that was him.

It is only the lip balm I had put on that had not made his chapped lips hurt.

I was his home, and he was doing all these wanderings, and I don't know where without it—without me.

Something in me just took over, and I kissed him. Really kissed him. I got a little animal groan from him when my tongue slipped on in. His hand moved, tightened around the back of my waist, and drew me inexorably closer into him than I already was.

Pooled heat in my stomach as Sasuke's dick pressed up at my entrance, and I let out a breathless sigh into his mouth before I pulled away. "Let me touch you," I asked as I nipped at the skin below his ear, only leaving subtle red marks in its path.

"You don't have to ask me for anything," moaned Sasuke. "Do what you want."

When they made some kind obscure noises about my thanks, my hands slid down his arms, shoulders, and toned abs. Sasukes head lolled back, leaning against the edge of the bathtub.

"You're s'beautiful," I mumbled in between breaths of me marking up the base of his neck.

His arm tightened further around my waist, and he pressed me down as much as he could to his dick, and I let out a moan against his neck, while Sasuke let out a sigh of content.

"So beautiful."

If there was anything Konoha did best, it was celebrating.

Compared to many of the other villages, the Leaf had some form of a festival almost every month. The first Sakura trees have blossomed? Celebration. The war is won? Celebration. The Hokage has a birthday? Celebration. 6 months without any outside threats? Celebration.

For the outsiders these constant festivities were both bizzare and a bit foolish. They could only imagine how much money were spend from the yearly budget, yet somehow the village blossomed economically. The other Kages tried to ask Lady Tsunade more than once in the past how exactly do they manage to do that, but they could never get anything more than a smug smile from her.

You, unlike your husband, loved a good party. During events like this everything felt different - the people were happier, the streets were busier, even the air felt more fresh! You have been waiting for the Spring festival for a while now - not only because you loved trying all the delicious street food, but also because this year you were taking your baby with you.

Being only a few months old, your son was an exact copy of Kakashi. His hair, his eyes, his nose, his lips, even the way he pouted was absolutely the same as your partner. There were times when you sat next to his crib, looking at him for hours, trying to find at least one thing in his appearance that he may took after you. While there were none, you found solace in the fact that he showed at least some traits of your personality - the main one being obsessed with Kakashi, of course.

As you watched your husband gently rocking your child in his arms and whispering sweet words to him, you couldn't stop the smile from spreading wide on your lips. Kakashi hasn't noticed your presence by the door yet, too busy booping your baby's nose and listening to his happy laughter.

He was definitely the favourite parent.

"I can't believe I carried him for nine months and I am still the second best in his eyes", you finally said, making Kakashi whip his head in the direction of your voice. He smiled sheepishly at you, his one free arm extending for you to take.

"You know that is not true, my dove", he tried to reassure you, his attention moving back to the bundle of joy who kept twitching in his grip, "No one can replace mommy! Isn’t that right, little man?"

Almost if understanding his words, the baby turned toward you, reaching one of his small hands toward your face. You immediately melted at the gesture, before carefully grabbing it in yours and lying numerous small kisses on his little fingers.

“Do we really have to go?”, your husband groaned, looking at you pleadingly. If it was up to him the three of you would stay in your house, enjoying a cosy evening just playing and goofing around the living room. With his new role as a Hokage, your time together was limited anyway and he liked to grab any chance he got to spend a few hours with you at home.

“You were the one that promised Naruto you would finally let him see the baby”, you cocked one of your eyebrows and Kakashi immediately shut his mouth, knowing he cannot argue further.

Even since you told Team 7 that you are pregnant, Naruto has shown an enormous enthusiasm about welcoming the baby. He self proclaimed himself “the best uncle to ever exist” and has bought dozen of plush toys and clothes before you even found what the gender is. Both you and Kakashi found this amusing, yet cute, promising him that he would be one of the first people to see your son once he is born.

However, things didn't go as planned and since he was on a mission outside Konoha for the last three months and a half, Naruto was now one of the last people to meet your child. Sakura has asked you countless of times during this period to let her and Sasuke come to your house, but feeling it was unfair to Naruto, you refused every single time.

Now that the blonde was back, however, all three were eagerly waiting to meet the young Hatake.

Kakashi gently passed you the baby, while he went to the corridor to grab the baby carrier wrap he liked to use. One thing about your husband was that he absolutely refused to use a pram.

"It is safer for them to be close to me", he often said, not even hiding his overprotectiveness. Despite your baby already being the village's favourite, he only allowed people to watch him, but never touch him or hold him. It was almost like your son was some kind of a rare jewel, which was so delicate, it had to be admired from a far. And while you found Kakashi's behaviour funny, he was being very serious about it, going as far as to glare and hiss a warning at Guy and Genma every time they tried to pinch your baby's chubby cheeks.

Once the little one was safely wrapped against your partner, you both made your way toward the village centre, where you could already hear music sounding. The streets were flooded with both adults and children, who were all eager to try some foreign food and watch special performances. Every year there were entertainers coming from different lands, performing traditional songs and dances from their cultures. While you knew you couldn't stay for all of them, since you had to put your child to bed quite early, you were excited to see at least some.

You felt one of Kakashi's arms wrapping around your waist, pulling you closer to him, while he shielded your son's body with the other one. While there were none real threats or risk for any of you, the amount of people made the man anxious. You were just about to grab his hand and try to make him relax, when Naruto's loud voice sounded from somewhere in front of you.

"Kakashi-sensei! Y/N! Over here!", he waved his hands energetically in the air, while both Sasuke and Sakura looked away embarrassed from his behaviour. Your smiled at the blonde, waving back, while your husband couldn't do anything else than let out a sigh.

Once you were a few meters away, the Uzumaki ran toward you, his whole face lighting up once his eyes met those of your son. He pushed past you, without even paying any attention to you, before leaning his head close to the baby's.

" Kakashi! That's your twin, dattebayo!", he shouted and moved his finger between his sensei and your son. Kakashi flicked his hand away, glaring harshly at his student. You sniffled a laugh, before you felt Sakura's hand on your shoulder. Turning around, you offered a smile to both her and Sasuke.

"Don't touch, step back and only watch from a distance", Kakashi instructed, his eyes narrowing at Naruto. The blonde, however, didn't acknowledge his words in any way, instead turning toward you.

"Can I hold him?", he asked, his blue eyes sparkling.

"No!", Kakashi immediately answered for you and you rolled your eyes at your husband, before moving toward the males.

"Of course you can!", before your husband can protest, you gave him a stare and he reluctantly picked up your son from the carrier wrap. He held him in his hands for a few more seconds, eyeing Naruto with suspicion.

"Be very, very, VERY careful!", he said, while passing the wriggling baby to the boy's stretched out arms, "And make sure to support his head! No, not like that... Naruto, I swear to Kami-"

You cut off the white haired male's rambling by wrapping your arm around his waist and placing your head against his shoulder. The Uzumaki was doing just fine, but Kakashi being Kakashi started to panic just at sight of someone else holding your little treasure.

The baby seemed to like the blonde, as he giggled, stretching his small hand toward his face. Sakura, who has been patiently waiting for her sensei to relax a bit, immediately rushed to her teammate's side, uncapable of controlling herself longer. She wriggled her forefinger in front of the child's face, her heart melting once he caught it.

"Hello, little one! I am auntie Sakura!", the baby grinned at her with its toothless smile and she let out an "aww" sound, before turning to you and your husband, "Kakashi-sensei, he really is your exact copy! Y/N, are you sure that's your child?"

You laughed at her joke, before shrugging your shoulders and pressing yourself closer to Kakashi.

"Trust me, I ask myself that every single day!"

Finally tearing your gaze away from Naruto and Sakura, you looked over to Sasuke, who remained frozen in his place. His eyes were focused on the little baby and there was a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, but unlike his teammates he maintained a safe distance. Feeling someone was watching him, he turned his head in your direction, his cheeks going bright red once he realized you caught him staring.

"Sasuke", you smiled at him and everyone's attention went to the Uchiha, "Do you want to hold him too?"

The dark haired male gulped, his eyes widening. He nervously scratched his shoulder, his gaze going down to his feet.

"I...", he became silent, stealing one more glance at the baby. You found it almost amusing how he was a fearsome ninja that could take dozen of enemies at the same time, yet he felt scared to hold a tiny human.

Looking over at Naruto, you nodded your head, signalling him to pass your son to Sasuke. The blonde let out a huff, dragging his feet toward his teammate.

"Be careful! And hold the head!", he warned the Uchiha, who rolled his eyes in response.

"I know how to hold a baby, dobe! I am not stupid!"

"Language!", Kakashi warned next to you and you looked up at him, only for him to shake his head. It must've been hard dealing with these two for so many years, yet you knew your husband wouldn't had it any other way.

At this moment, surrounded by so much love and happiness, you felt like you finally had everything you wanted in life - an amazing husband, a healthy child and enormous support by anyone around you. If you could choose to re-live only one moment of your life, it would be this.

"You okay, my dove?", Kakashi whispered and you nodded your head, laying a small kiss on his covered chin.

"Never been better."

Unbeknown to you, all of Team 7 smiled at both of you, admiring how happy their sensei was. After decades of suffering and loss, Kakashi took the leap of faith and opened his heart to you. While he was unsure in the beginning if he was ready to be with someone and have a family, looking back he was glad he did.

Pulling down his mask, he laid a soft kiss on your forehead, before nuzzling his nose against it.

"I love you."

"I love you more."

He's Worried About You | Gaara x Reader

Summary: You are a powerful kunoichi of the Hidden Leaf Village and you are in a long-distance relationship with the Fifth Kazekage Gaara. When the Fourth Great Shinobi War began you became the captain of the Special Forces Unit and have been working yourself to the bone as the youngest captain. Gaara has watched over you from a distance as he takes on his duties as Regimental Commander of the Allied Shinobi Forces and Captain of the First Company and when heavy rain forces your two divisions to meet he comes to confront you about how much you have been overworking yourself.

Notes: I made a few small changes to the Fourth Great Shinobi War making it so that the war has been going on for months instead of a few days. Also, this ended up being A LOT longer than I expected so enjoy! :)

You stood inside of your tent extremely stressed out bent over a map of the battlefield- your thoughts running every which way. Lady Tsunade had entrusted you with the position of Captain of the Special Forces unit at the young age of sixteen. You didn't expect the sudden promotion but accepted it nonetheless wanting to serve your village well and do your part for the war effort.

However, this position was a lot more than you expected. Yes, you knew that this job would be very demanding, but this was just too much for you as a perfectionist. You worked extremely hard to ensure your division had no casualties and so far you were the only captain that maintained no deaths.

You wanted to keep this record causing you to run around your company's camp helping wherever needed causing you a lot of unnecessary stress.

Gaara had heard about this through Temari and a few other Hidden Sand shinobi that were stationed under your command. He frowned as soon as he read the letter from his elder sister about how you were holding up as of late.

You and Naruto had been the ones to pull him out of the darkness during the Chūnin Exams and had been there by his side when he got revived by Granny Chiyo. The boy lived to see you smile and his love for you grew everytime he saw it.

Now, it seemed as though you were too focused on others to ever think about yourself- it worried him. His beloved girlfriend was too selfless for her own good. It had taken him two years for him to even realize the love he felt for you after the exams let alone confess to you.

The Kazekage had just asked you to be his partner a little under two years ago when you were both fourteen and your relationship has been long distance ever since. It was already hard not seeing your face every day and the last thing he wanted out of this war was for his girlfriend to die from her being too exhausted to fight properly. If you died, he'd lose a part of his soul and he wasn't sure how he would cope- he didn't want to think about such a dark possibility.

Unfortunately, he couldn't just go to you he had his duties as Kazekage and Regimental Commander to take care of and he hated that fact. He remembered all those times where you used to put your hand on his shoulder and smile at him praising him for his improvement on his journey of becoming a better person. You were the reason even though he didn't see it at the time why he tried so hard to improve- and now that was at risk.

He wanted to hold you in his arms and take care of you as you had done for him. He had offered many times for you to move to the Hidden Sand where he could take care of you properly. He was the leader of the entire Land of Wind at the age of sixteen; you could easily just move into his estate, and he could provide for you giving you easy missions to keep you out of danger.

However, he knew how much you loved being a Hidden Leaf Kunoichi and loved you as you were never wishing to take that away from you. You rejected him each time he offered anyway not wanting to be a burden. He never held this against you though as he could never be upset with you besides, he understood your reasoning.

But, as luck would have it, heavy rain on the battlefield forced his division to meet with yours to exchange supplies and when he arrived, he immediately looked for you after making sure his unit was settled. He met with Temari who told him you were inside of your tent bent over a map of the battlefield. He sighed thanking his eldest sibling before looking for your tent.

When he found it, he walked inside and noticed the bags under your eyes instantly. Lack of sleep was normally his problem as Shukaku had kept him from sleeping most of his life still causing him problems to this day even though the One Tails was removed from him. He hated seeing you exhausted to this degree though, while he had learned to adapt to lack of sleep- you hadn't.

It made him wonder what else you had neglected in the time you two were separated in favor of taking care of your division. While you two sent letters back and forth every two days you avoided talking about yourself to avoid him worrying about you. He knew this and wished you could just let him take on some of your burdens.

He approached you with a worried expression on his face and his green eyes held a look of love and concern that he reserved only for you. You sighed giving him a weak smile as he placed a hand on your shoulder as he spoke.

"Are you alright?" He asked as he leaned his forehead against yours. You had helped him get used to showing physical affection over the years and he slowly got the hang of it. However, he kept physical affection reserved for only you and on occasion his siblings.

You stayed silent for a moment sighing as you closed your eyes enjoying the feeling of having your lover so close after a few months of not being able to see each other due to the war.

"Sorry for not meeting you when you arrived I have been stuck looking over the plans for the upcoming battle." You said giving him another weak smile as you opened your eyes.

"But I'm fine." You whispered and he knew it was a lie. You weren't fine you had been given a huge responsibility and he didn't doubt for a moment that you could handle it. He knew you could, but he also knew how much you cared for others so much so that you could get yourself sick by worrying about those under your command too much.

As a result, his look of worry didn't fade instead it depend as he placed two fingers lightly under your chin tilting it slightly upward so the two of you could meet eyes. "No, need to apologue. You never have to apologize to me." He replied kissing your forehead before continuing. "And I know you aren't fine Y/N." He started. "I can see it in your eyes, it's the same look you had during the battle at the Akatsuki's hideout when you came to save me. A look full of both love and exhaustion. You are stretching yourself too thin." He whispered softly, and you looked away for a moment your eyes looking down at the map once again.

He moved his fingers from your chin to your cheek cupping it in his hand. You leaned into his palm as you looked back at him.

"You need to let your shinobi help you, you don't need to take care of every issue that arises in your camp. You are young and you can let those around you support you in areas you need assistance in." He added, and you shook your head at him as you went silent once again.

You had never stayed silent for this long, like Naurto you both wouldn’t keep your mouths shut for a long time unless there was something wrong and this worried him even more as you gathered your thoughts together.

“You are young too Gaara, and you are in charge of way more. You the leader of an entire nation. The Kazekage.” You said pausing before continuing. “And I’m only in charge of one division. I’ll be fine I just need to work harder because if I fail. . .” You stopped your voice trailing off as you looked to the side unable to meet his gaze once again. “What would that say about me? What would that say about Lady Tsunade who gave me this position to begin with?”

The Kazekage grimaced on the inside as he felt his heart sink at your words and how you couldn't look at him when talking about your insecurities. It hurt him to see you this stressed to see you compare yourself to him, and he thought of the proper words to say to reassure you just as you had done for him so many times before.

He decided to act rather than speak at first pulling you into a warm embrace as he placed your head to rest on his shoulder as he finally choose the right words to say to you.

"You won't fail." He stated as he rubbed your back gently with one of his hands the other on the back of your head caressing your hair. "You are smart, talented, and most of all you are kind and care about doing the right thing. As long as you remain like that, you won't fail and even if you do, I'll be there to support you."

You smiled softly feeling the Kazekage's gentle touches on your back and head. His warm words washed over you like warm water as the tension in your body started to subside. However, your mind was still clouded with exhaustion from your heavy workload as you spoke back.

"Promise me you won't overwork yourself either." You replied with a small chuckle as your spirits lifted.

He gently ran his fingers through your hair as he listened to you, cherishing every moment of this intimate moment with you nodding in response to your words. He smiled at how you were laughing once again. It made his worry subside for a moment as he admired how you thought about him over yourself. It was one of the many reasons he loved you- your unwavering selflessness. "I promise, as long as you do the same." He responded as he pressed his lips against yours giving you a quick peck before continuing. "Now, let's get some rest together." You nodded and the two of you fell asleep cuddling close to one another inside of your tent taking advantage of your divisions still being forced together due to the rain. As he fell asleep, he made a mental note to send Kankuro to watch over you as well- just in case.

There's no way I can analyze the Team 7 dynamic before saying a bunch of stuff about Sakura.

Most vital parts of her character in relation to the theme of the story get completely overlooked in favor of #GirlPower, making her just part of a ship or hating her without taking a moment to really dive in how she exists on the Naruto world.

What do you mean you can't remember Haku's speech on how in the shinobi system people want to become tools for the people they love and how it connects to Sakura later becoming a medic nin?

What do you mean you can't see how she was not given proper continuation to her Naruto classic breakthrough in the Chunning Exams + after the Sasuke Retrieval mission? And before someone can say her only realization was has been useless all that time, it's even more important!! She knew she had been unfair to Naruto for treating him so bad and expecting him to shoulder all her burdens like nothing, that she did a disservice to Sasuke too by not acting as her teammate but basically asking him to rescue himself and Naruto it failed. She makes a promise to herself to grow for her and not someone else, to become a kunoichi and focus on her career instead of letting times drag her around, she makes herself a promise that she won't be powerless anymore, because her friends deserve it and she deserves it.

Naruto Classic even makes a point of letting her go back into her old ways out of stress and the minute she notices what she has done, what she did to Sasuke and Naruto, she apologizes to him (Naruto) and promises to burden the weight of the promise he made with him— that's why, back then, Shikamaru and Tsunade were able to smile to both Sakura and Naruto, seeing their courage in the face of Sasuke leaving.

Shippuden just repeats and exploits those scenes in new ways, bringing Sakura back at the start for the sake of drama or ship baiting. What Sai told Sakura and how it leads to Sakura fake confession makes no sense given the hospital room scene!!!! She knows she hurt him, she saw it back then!!!! She knows he suffers for her and that's why she promised to go after Sasuke with him next time! She apologized for her behavior and she worried about Naruto's wellbeing and she ran to ask to be Tsunade's apprentice because she knew!!!!

It makes no sense!!!

Her arc in the Classic is supposed to be about how she doesn't have a definition of herself that she feels belong in the world, so she hides behind pretences. During their presentation, you learned more about Sasuke than Sakura. She was on the same level of Kakashi revealing nothing about her life. The Chunning Exams start with Kakashi all worried that her lack of confidence/independence would force her into the exams. She realizes how little she has truly work on her own self during the Sound shinobis attack and cuts her hair, swearing she'll do better. It's her sense of self HIDDEN SO DEEP WITHIN HER, what break a technique that is not supposed to be capable of being broken.

The Classics portraits Sakura as being annoying and naive and causing damage through ignorance but it always Sakura to grow. She learns and she's able to keep that knowledge. She's neglected by Kakashi in her training, but she's able to seek a sensei for herself —and that's an important thing for her! She's not waiting for someone to teach her or recommend her! She has agency now! She has gone so far, evolved so much!

Sakura offering herself as a puppet to Chiyo is not about lack of independence, it's Sakura showing that she acknowledged and accepted the Shinobi philosophy of being a weapon. She's still Sakura, too sentimental, too willing to jump to shield the life of another, but now it gives Tsunade's energy. Those women turn weakness into power, love and fear into determination. Sasori allows them to kill him because the battle was never about the knifes and always about the dispute on points of views.

It's a battle of philosophies: Chiyo and Sakura won

But after that? There are moments of importance and coherence, but the story starts regressing her progress in favor of some angst with Naruto or Sasuke and it kills their dynamics. The storytelling is messy —not cohesive enough. Contradictions start to appear everywhere. It's not even a form to being depth into her characterization, it's clear it's nothing but indecision, confusion, too many lines to take so you take several and end up mixing it.

The Sakura from the Classic was unknowable for her teammates. Naruto couldn't see her struggles because he was too young. Sasuke could see it, but he didn't want to engage with it 'cause he had his own agenda. They had their dreams and they were her dream. They were far more developed and on a different stage of their storylines, while Sakura was far behind, a late bloomer.

Her whole story is about her trying to catch up with them not in power, not in importance, but merely on the idea of having work on herself enough that she can't stand on her own and do something on her own and mean something of her own, without them, outside of them, so their dynamics can mature too.

Must mention that I'm not talking about romance at all, but you can't avoid it a lot because romance is one of the obstacles in their relationships. The love triangle and later the nostalgia encourages them all to see the others through the lenses of idealization or through memories. It's not until the end of the Classic that the masks fall, with Sasuke forcing it. He forces Naruto and Sakura to grow, the same way the violent reality of the Waves arc forced them to face the nature of the shinobi life.

The main conflict of part 1 is that they were kids.

Then Shippuden (with all the love in the world, I love Shippuden so much but wait a minute) goes the coward route. It pretends to be all mature and political and then avoids the real problems, never continuating that personality traits presented in the Classic that would lead Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke to take different decisions that what they took later on the manga.

Naruto wanted to semanticsize the word shinobi after Zabuza! Sakura questioned the system right then and Kakashi had to give a speech about it!!!! The real context of Sasuke leaving is not "oh no, Sasuke you can't be a rebel!!", it's the knowledge that Orochimaru wants to experiment on him and he already has without Sasuke's consent and he (Sasuke) was in real danger by going forward with the cursed mark! The other kids only knew about Orochimaru through the tell of how he killed the Hokage, but Sakura and Naruto fought with him on the Forest of Death!!

Sakura says all she says to try and stop Sasuke for leaving because it is a director callback to their conversation after Naruto transformed in Sasuke and tried to kiss her. Sasuke said Sakura made him sick because she didn't know what how lonely was horrible and dared to talk about it without knowing and saying stuff like she would be better without her parents. So Sakura tries to tell him on that night, look! I'm feeling it now! If this is how you were feeling then stay! Or take me with you! She plays with the fact he must remember that conversation. This time she's not thinking "I want to overwhelm him with sex appeal", mouth full of words she doesn't comprehend. She's saying "I love you!" because she still doesn't comprend how Sasuke feels, but she knows how she feels now.

She's gone a long way, but she still has further to go and Sasuke would never mess with her own development. He would never do that to her. He can't talk to Sakura, she won't get it, she still has to learn about the world, so he won't waste more words. So he thanks her. Who knows what for, but he thanks her. Her ignorance's annoying to no end but he appreciates how she, despite the barriers, tries to reach him anyway. She lacks the words or the method or the strength, but she tries anyway.

For him.

It's very much the same with Naruto. She turns herself into a weapon for them both and she even internalizes the cruelty of the shinobi world, that she had to treat Sasuke like the enemy and fight him like the enemy and stop him for commiting more crimes (view from the Konoha perspective), but she fails. She can't. She does the same thing Tsunade did to poison the people she loved and tried to solve it on her own, but in both cases they were lying to themselves. They wanted an easy way out. I kill you, it's over, I don't have to deal anymore with the pain your own decisions bring me because I can't stop you, you're your own person. They KNOW it and the fold under the knowledge of it, okay?

Naruto is a jinchuriki and they are hunting him to kill him and she can't do nothing, because going on with those missions is Naruto's decisions and not hers. She's selfish in wanting them save and sound! It is bad and it is human! She is erasing them as their own persons! She loves them so so much! She acts several times on her desire to go back and pretend everything is okay and then her friends have to correct her, sometimes gentle or sometimes reprimanding her. As tempting as it is to close your eyes and pretend, it can't be. That's the only reason why she didn't fell for the lure of the Eternal Tsukuyomi: her whole life has been about learning why that living of illusions won't bring happiness to anyone.

Shippuden somehow traps her in that realization like a personal hell. I love you both. You are willing to sacrifice your wellbeing for your dreams. I can't do nothing. I can only cry and ask you to stop and do something reckless and try to use myself as a living shield. But I can't do nothing. You are your own beings and you will destroy yourselves if you want to. I can only sit, wait and see if I can mend you later. I can only deal with the afterwards. I can only control my reactions to your actions.

Making her a medic is amazing because she has to wait for one of them to start bleeding to come in the scene. They will never allow her to fight for them in the way they did for her in the Classic, for multiple reasons —including just how important is agency and free will for both Naruto and Sasuke.

When people say she's useless? Or have no place in the narrative? Or bring nothing to the table? Or speaks in no way about the failures and cruelty if the shinobi system? When people don't get that she's Naruto and Sasuke narrative foil in terms of her arc being narrated in a completely different way with different aspects? That's she's all they're not or can't be or can't have or weren't allowed to be? When people erase her from the dynamics of Team 7 and don't see the gaping hole they left in her absence?

It makes me utterly insane. All members of Team 7, the original and all the Shippuden versions, are relevant to the themes. All of them.

boruto era kakashi + godaime obito idea (with a ghostbito addition for the sillies)

omg guys hear me out, boruto era Kakashi getting into some shenanigans with a scroll and accidentally dimension traveling to a world where Obito is hokage and needs some help (minato, rin, and kushina r still kicking dwdw). I think in this other world, Obito would be the Godaime, he’s a little bit into the job- but still it’s new to him and he needs some help w it- but he doesn’t want to bug Minato too much about it / Hiruzen is not there but when is he ever lmao (interpret that as he already dead or just ready to peace out in a hospital bed). I think this could be obkk, but it’s much more explicit in the ghostbito addition. Obkk is like two birds on a wire for me, regardless of whether they are platonic or romantic, they will be together and no I won’t shut up about them.

So… Obito decides he’s gonna try some- interdimensional guidance, through the power of bs / tobirama what the fuck / hey this is fanfic don’t take it to seriously / help a boyfailure out here / minato’s well intentioned advice turned into the best or worst idea yet (bro could have added “this just my opinion tho” 😭😭😭) obito has himself an interesting little project. He finds one of Tobirama’s secret, personal projects. A scroll that erases itself everyday. Just kidding, a scroll that can communicate with other worlds (one that was never finished in his world, but was in Kakashi’s). While Tobirama never finished it, he speculates that in another world- he did finish it and if the scroll were ever finished in Hokagebito’s world, communication w/ that other world would be possible. He asks Kushina for advice without mentioning the scroll directly and raises her eyebrow, but ultimately just tells him bc she trusts Obito. Oh boy… so he gets the scroll working. Well done genius. “But what if it’s not another hokage?” There’s no harm in trying. Plus- the other person doesn’t NEED to know he’s the godaime- and worst comes to worst, he can just go RIPPPPP to that sucker lmao.

“Hey who this?” - Godaime. Nah im kidding, he writes a formal letter to the other side explaining that he completed Tobirama’s scroll, that he wants to see if it worked, that he needs… a friend. (Leaving out the fact that he’s the godaime)

Now, Kakashi gets the scroll in a very unique situation. Moreso- Tsunade gifted it to him on one of his birthdays (bc sakumo hung around w the sannin a lot) and was like “ur kid a little genius right, maybe he can figure out what this is for” bc Tobirama in Kakashi’s world never specified what it was for (or if he did, the note fell off). He’s never cared about it beyond “oh this was made by the second hokage!” (if u follow into the Tobirama is Kakashi’s grandpa theory, it’s a nice nod to his grandpa, I actually really like this head canon but I think I’ll leave it out of here). But it’s blank. Did Tsunade just-… gift him a blank scroll because the second hokage once touched it? For the next 30-40 years of his life, thats what Kakashi thinks and admittedly it’s really funny (and sweet in a way), so he keeps it on a shelf and looks at it whenever he needs to remember the simpler days.

And then, one day, the blank scroll has some writing on it.

Oh. It was- for talking with someone from another world? Okay… Kakashi’s seen weirder, still weird, but weird in a way he can somewhat comprehend. So he writes something on the other half of the scroll, and pretends that it doesn’t resemble Obito’s horrid writing (because what the hell?).

On the flip side, Obito is ecstatic, because it worked! Whoever wrote to him, must also be a hokage right? So he asks, “how did you get this scroll?”

“A friend gifted it to me”

“… you’re friends with the NIDAIME?” He has to be someone important then right?

“Not exactly.” Okay then, if he has the scroll, he has to be the current hokage. Because how could Tobirama let this scroll fall into just anyone’s hands?

“Who’s the hokage in your world?”

“Who’s the hokage in yours?” Wow, okay… and then “How many have there been in yours?”

“Five”

“Seven”

And so on. It’s like an online friendship in a way, except they’re chatting with someone worlds away. Eventually, Obito begins asking for advice (advice that’s thinly veiled as work advice (really it’s hokage work but he tries to mask it as something else)). Not because he knows the other was the Rokudaime, but because the other has become a bit of a… friend. Kakashi however, sees through this and when something only a hokage understand slips, confronts Hokage Obito “You’re the Godaime”

“Ah. Was it… obvious?”

“For the Rokudaime, yes.”

Oh. Obito becomes even more excited, and they begin signing off on their letters with Godaime and Rokudaime. Obito assumes that this Rokudaime is younger than him and apologies for asking so much advice (because if he’s the Rokudaime, the Obito in that world must have retired now). It’s just- this Rokudaime is so wise, knowledgeable, a bit of a know it all… reminds him of Kakashi. (Kakashi who he misses with all his heart, who should have been there to watch him become Hokage, who should have been there to help him with the damn papers.)

(Kakashi, whose death weighs on him heavier than any boulder).

Either way, he lets his age slip one day. On the other side, Kakashi just laughs “No, you’re younger. The kids over here have started calling me old man. How rude.” It goes on like that for a little longer. A few months into it, Minato, Rin, and Kushina find out what he’s been doing. They tease him of course, but they also worry. Obito says there’s nothing to be worried about, but still it’s some stranger right? On occasion, Rin watches as Obito writes to the stranger and wonders who could be on the other side. Kushina is worried but also upset that Obito never told her about his success! This is huge! How could he not tell her!? Minato is proud, worried, and calming down Kushina who goes on a tangent. One day, they decide to all see one of Obito and mysterious Rokudaime’s chats themselves. In some freak accident, there’s a bright glow. And then Obito’s gone, with only the scroll. Kushina obv begins to reverse engineer that crap to bring back Obito-

On the other side, Obito finally meets his inter dimensional pen pal.

What the fuck.

“YOU’RE THE ROKUDAIME?” “Obito?” That shuts him up really quickly, because Obito hasn’t heard Kakashi’s voice in such a long time. Aside from that, he’s never heard it in such a tone. “How?” Obito asks, “Was this a bet between us? Congratulations- I feel bad for this version of me though-” Kakashi makes some sad sound at that, his brows kind of furrow in a way that make’s Obito’s stomach twist. Obito can’t help but run up to this Kakashi and hug him. It’s not… too weird right? Technically they’re friends. And technically they did know each other! So, they sit on the blanket of grass, a bright clear blue sky day that Kakashi has decided to enjoy under a tree and one of jiraiya’s pervy novels??? They talk for a minute, two, three, then for about an hour until Obito can feel himself being pulled back. Before he is, he apologizes. For everything, for burdening Kakashi, for making him save Rin, for letting Kakashi fall apart, and for… Kakashi’s death.

Kakashi is in shock, but he assures Obito that… if it was him, truly him, then he had no problems with it.

When Obito returns to his world, he returns a little bit more confident, but also… he returns with tears in his eyes. Happy. Sad. Hopeful.

“I saw him. The Rokudaime. I saw Kakashi.”

Now… I could end this here. And, if you like leaving it at that, then it ends with the scroll being destroyed as a result of Kushina’s interference to bring Obito back. HOWEVER- if u like ghostbito / actual, solid not up to interpretation obkk have I got a pitch for u

GHOSTBITO IDEA

The scroll isn’t destroyed, rather, it gains a new attribute. Being able to travel between worlds, and when Obito is yanked back… so is Kakashi. Whoopsies! Cue, really really emotional scene, omg Kakashi grew up! OMG KAKASHI BECAME HOKAGE- and also cue, Obito showing Kakashi around his Konoha (which is sort of the same, but with many differences. For one, the Uchiha are still around. For two, Minato, Kushina, and Rin are alive. For three, Obito was Team 7’s sensei). Yeah it’s sort of a date, but Obito won’t admit that and Kakashi is oblivious bc free vacation (out of Obito’s salary).

When it’s time for Kakashi to go back, they decide. Maybe, they’ll keep seeing each other, keep being friends. Now they’re not, exactly each other’s Kakashi and Obito, but they can be new friends instead. A new introduction is needed, so they reintroduce themselves. Okay now, Ghostbito is def still looking out for Kakashi. Yeah he’s enjoying the afterlife w/ Rin, ofc, but sometimes… he can’t help but take a peak into Kakashi’s life. Now, seeing that Kakashi had a pen pal was exciting, fun even. Until he sees who the pen pal was, and until he (who’s attached to Kakashi) is also dragged into the dimension travel. Because NO! Kakashi is his teammate! That Obito is not him! It’s childish and Obito has 100% stopped being like that ages ago, but also he can’t help it. That Obito didn’t give Kakashi his eye, he did.

And he sees it, the things Kakashi misses, the way this Obito blushes around Kakashi like how he did around Rin all those years ago. The way this Obito offers his hand in jest (but not really) to drag Kakashi to all of his favorite spots. The way Kakashi looks happy-, oh. Kakashi looks happy. Who is he to ruin that for Kakashi? No, he won’t. Not again. And it’s not like he has beef with Kakashi… no, he has beef with… himself??? Well, he has beef with this Obito!!!

Cue, Godaime Obito getting haunted as ghostbito starts beefing w/ himself from another world. Both of whom, have feelings for Kakashi albeit only one of them can actually pursue him. I think Ghostbito wants Kakashi to move on, but like… NOT LIKE THIS 😭😭😭 in his opinion it’s like a downgrade like why couldn’t Kakashi just be w literally anyone else? Gai, Iruka, Anko, Yamato, Mei, Shizune- literally anyone else!!!

Feel free to add on, I just had a crack idea and began to roll with it. This also led me to another idea, but instead of Ghostbito and Godaimebito beefing it’s Jonin/about to be Godaime Obito and Post-war Obito beefing (w similar plot points being the dimension travel). I just think Obito having beef w every alternate self he encounters is really funny, that man doesn’t play, especially if it’s about his teammates like 😭😭😭 also the idea of Joninbito AU! Obito and Kakashi meeting Postwar AU Obito and Kakashi is funny, I’ll write it later methinks

Sakura feels slightly better the next day, and almost normal, if tired, the following day. Sasuke is happy that the antibiotics worked and that Sakura is awake again.

Tsunade's words are still in his mind but it's very easy to forget them when Sakura smiles at him and her green eyes shimmer like the sunset over the sea. He tells himself that he will think about it later, get to know Sakura when she feels better and try to guess what her intentions are in the coming weeks. She surely would already have attempted something against him if she really had malicious plans, wouldn't she?

Now he is happy just to come home after work and see her up and healing. She floods his bathroom a couple more times, he stops trying to ask her not to. She is still too weak to try to walk again but she regains her appetite and is strong enough to talk to him in the evening.

She now happily tells him what her favorite foods are. Naruto asks him about his exorbitant fish market tabs and Sasuke just says he had guests over. She refuses to eat vegetables but she tries chocolate and makes herself queasy eating too much of it at once.

She reads a lot of books from his dusty shelves and asks him about the human things she reads. He could listen to her for hours, watching her put her hair behind her ear and bite her lip as she looks over a page to read a sentence to him.

At the end of her first week since he found her, she welcomes him home with an unusually suspicious attitude. She moves to the farthest side of the bed when he enters the room and he wonders what changed since the day before, when she was eager to nestle against his chest to be carried to the bathtub.

“Are you ok?...” he asks.

“I know why you're squishy down there,” she says with an accusatory glare at his pants.

His confusion deepens. “... What?”

She waves a book in front of her. “It says everything in there! It says the things males of your species do to females!”

“What book is that–”

He squints at the cover when she stops shaking the book and he understands. It’s the last volume of Icha Icha Paradise, which Kakashi gifted him a few years ago and he was using to wedge his headboard into place.

“How did you find that?” he asks.

“I read all your other books. I do not want you to… to…” she says as she leaves through the pages to find her words, “'thrust your hot flesh sword into my tight moist tunnel'!” she reads.

Part of him wants to laugh but she seems to be genuinely upset and he honestly cannot blame her for distrusting men after reading this rag of a romance novel.

“Noted,” he says calmly. “I'm not sure you should read this book it's not really–”

“You will not convince me with flowers or jewelry!” she adds like she fears it was his next move.

He shakes his head slowly. “I won't try to. It's not a good book, it doesn't show real relationships, it–”

“If you do, I will crush your squishy parts like a crab claw!” she threatens.

He can feel his privates flinch at this thought. “I'd like to avoid that.”

For a long moment she looks at him like she’s trying to judge him. “Really?”

“Sakura, I won't do anything you don't want me to do. I'll stop carrying you around if you don't want me to touch you.”

She seems confused when she realizes she might just have stopped him from doing her favorite thing. “I still want you to carry me in your arms. But I don't want you near my…” she leaves through the book again and reads a sentence, “my 'sensitive love cave'!”

“I will not touch you anywhere you don't want me to but please stop quoting this book.”

“What about when the mating season comes?” she asks with squinted eyes. “You won't try to mate with me if I'm the only female around?”

“No?”

She finally seems to relax. “... Ok.”

“When is mating season?...” he dares to ask.

“Some time next month.”

“So you… You want to go back to the sea to find a mate?”

"No. I just lay my eggs somewhere then I leave. None of these disgusting things happens,” she says as she waves Icha Icha Paradise again.

“You lay eggs,” he repeats, trying not to sound too surprised.

“Yes.”

“How many?”

“Not many. Five or ten thousand usually.”

“Cool.” This will be a problem.

“When is mating season for you?” she asks.

“We don’t have that. We do it whenever we want, I mean when both people want to do it.”

“Well, I don’t want to," she says, "so keep your…” another glance at the book, “ ...'velvety love stick' away from me.”

He can’t help a loud sigh as he curses Kakashi for gifting him this.

“Give me this book, I’ll burn it.”

You've been friends with Tsunade for a long time now, and when you first met her you were taken aback by how fuzzy your chest felt when you first saw her

You're introduced by a mutual friend, Jiraiya, who you had a friends with benefits situation with

Jiraiya said he needed a wingman, and since he was paying for the drinks, you obliged him and dolled yourself up for a night at the club

You warm up with a few shots, tossing back a second shot of tequila when you see her

She's speaking with Jiraiya at one of the couches, and at first you think he's already gotten his bag

The way she punches his gut, however, proves you wrong

Surprised, you rush over to check on Jiraiya, who laughs through his pain and introduces you to his assailant

"This is my longtime friend Tsunade."

Tsunade analyzes you with her warm, amber eyes. You find your throat to be dry and lick your lips, turning your head so you don't have to feel her gaze as harshly

"Hm... You're much too pretty to settle for Jiraiya's hookups."

Jiraiya makes an offended noise, but she ignores him in favor of taking your wrist. "We'll be drinking!" She tosses over her shoulder to Jiraiya, leading you back to the bar

She orders a round of shots after asking your preferred poison, smirking when you respond with tequila

"Oh, we'll be friends in no time if you keep this up."

You two get to know each other that night, and once you've fulfilled your promise to Jiraiya to get him laid, you pull out your phone to get a ride home

Tsunade takes your phone and adds her number in. "I like you. Let's do this again sometime, but without the sleeze next time."

You smile and you hope you're not outwardly showing your adoration, as your insides are warm and overjoyed that she wants to be your friend

You two are indeed fast friends, both having military experience. She on the medical side, you on the engineering side

Your personal interests overlap as well, and oftentimes you and Tsunade go out for small vacations, or new movie releases, or just about anything

Your interest in her skyrockets, and Jiraiya looks bored one night at dinner as you talk about her and your latest trip to Vegas

"So did you hook up or not." He deadpans.

"W-What?" You stop mid-story, cheeks burning with embarrassment

"Yeah, yeah, the whole 'stays in Vegas' thing, I get it."

You frown, and he perks a brow right at you. "You look awfully confused for a simple question."

"Why would I have sex with Tsuna?"

If looks could kill, you'd be Yamcha right now

"Because, I dunno, she's beautiful, sexy, you have a crush on her... I could go on but I won't for fear of her spawning out of nowhere and putting me in traction for a year."

"I..." You blink and really think about your friendship with Tsunade. And how you've always felt so fond of her, even from that very first moment you saw her. And how those feelings have lingered for a long time

"I've never loved a woman."

"You do now." Jiraiya smirks. "And what a woman to fall in love with, hm?"

"Oh my god..." You whisper to yourself. You really do love Tsunade Senju

When Jiraiya drives you home, he smiles gently at you. "For the record, I think she's gonna be a lot more receptive to your love than mine."

You look into his eyes and realize he's probably loved her his entire life, and he's still 100% supportive of you trying your luck with her because of how much he loves you too

You smile back at him and lean in for a hug, kissing the corner of his mouth. "I love you too, Jiraiya."

He laughs softly and kisses your temple, making sure you get inside safely before he drives home

You're nervous the next time you see Tsunade. It's been around a week since you went out with Jiraiya, and she's finally got some free time after the Vegas trip

She invites you over for a sleepover, and you realize just how much effort you've been putting in for her with your clothes and makeup choices as you pack a bag

You're greeted with her brightest smile and hug when you get to her place, and you rest your hands comfortably on her hips

"It's been so long." She whines softly in your ear. Her breath against your ear makes you shiver

"It's been ten days, Tsuna." You laugh softly

"Too. Long." She whispers before pulling you by your hand into her house. She's got the living room set up with snacks and saké, and lots of pillows and blankets on her sectional couch

You chat for a bit to catch up, though Tsunade's doing most of the talking

You just can't stop focusing on how beautiful she is. Her lips look so soft, her skin is flawless and her hair is perfect every time you see her

Eventually Tsuna starts pouring alcohol while you focus on putting on a movie. You settle on some rom-com and lean back into the cushions, taking the drink Tsunade's delicate hand holds to your mouth

And just like every time you two get together and drink, you both get tipsy after some time

You're watching her as she watches the movie, your chest feeling full and like it would burst with how much you want this woman

Tsunade turns her head, gazing back at you with that little smile on her lips. Her cheeks are flushed from the saké and her eyes have a mischievous glow in them

She turns her body to face you more and you swallow thickly, forcing your eyes to stay met with hers. And it's difficult because she's wearing a tank top with no bra underneath and you're lit up from the alcohol

"When are you going to kiss me?"

"Hwhat." You deadpan.

Tsunade smirks and moves to her knees, leaning forward so her lips are a hair's breadth from yours

"I'm tired of waiting for you to make a move."

You swallow and gaze into her hooded eyes. "If you want something right, do it yourself." You dare to challenge back

Tsunade never did back down from a gamble

She presses her soft mouth to yours, both of her hands coming to your head and kissing you like a pro

You've never responded to someone so viscerally like you to do Tsunade kissing you. You shiver and your body is littered in goosebumps, and you swear she's smirking against your lips

She straddles your lap without ever breaking her momentum on your lips, pressing her chest to yours and looping her arms loosely around your neck, grinding her hips lightly as she slips her tongue into your mouth

You shudder at the heat she brings, tentatively putting your hands on her thighs

Tsunade kisses you til you're almost breathless, literally

You have to pull away or you'll suffocate, though dying because Tsunade Senju is kissing you is one of the best ways to go out

She steals a few quick smooches anyway, settling the movement of her hips

You get your bearings back and look her dead in the eye. "I am in love with you."

"Good." She winks at you and reclaims your lips, murmuring between her warm, messy kisses. "Otherwise this would be awkward."

When you wake up in the morning, you can't even feel the hangover. You're on top of Tsuna, head pillowed on her chest and enveloped in the smell of her as she's got her limbs locked around you

She's asleep still, drooling and snoring with her messy hair and all, and even then you still find her to be absolutely perfect

You kiss her chest softly and settle back in, smiling to yourself

She's grumpy when she eventually wakes up, but giggles and blushes so beautifully when you silence her complaints of a headache with a kiss

Maybe they didn't get along because Kakashi was a jerk in his younger days, and in his anbu years he was worse so him and y/n really hated each other but when they got older they were forced to do missions together by the hokage and they fell in love naturally? I could imagine after spending months together they fell in love lol

Kakashi X Reader | When He Was Jerk To You

Kakashi has been your mortal enemy since the very beginning. Your ninja way was that everyone in the team comes first, and then the mission. Which, as we all know, was opposite to his ninja way.

So you both always used to quarrel since the very beginning about this. And as you heard about what happened to Obito, you sympathized with him. But as soon as he got into anbu after that, he was even more rude and avoidant to you. So you decided it was best not to show him any sympathy since he didn't deserve it.

Little did you know what he was going through you can't help it. He was hiding it all way too well.

But this one time, you both got a mission together as you two became adults. You were agonized to have been assigned a mission with him, but you had to do it anyway since Tsunade, who was more or less your mentor asked you to.

So you agreed. The mission was very quiet. You two set the ground rules and shared very few words. It was all going smoothly until you both came across a random outcast and you were in danger.

As you lay there on the ground, you saw him running away. But through blurry eyes you could see some figure running towards you, you flinched but you recognized his chakra and felt safe and confused at the same time. Was this the truth or the lack of blood has made you hallucinate?

It was confirmed, once you woke up in the hospital bed and not in some cave. Kakashi saved you.

"But why?" you asked yourself. "Talking to yourself? Hmm, maybe you need more rest I'll come back later." you saw the gray-haired guy standing at the end of your room.

He was about to exit through the door when you said, "Why did you save me?". He turned around, gave his famous one-eyed smile, and said, "Why wouldn't I? We're on the same team, right?"

You were in shock but kept quiet and watched him walk away. That's when you were startled again by a voice in the background," He's changed y'know." Your mentor was there for you even in illness.

"What do you mean?" you asked, confused. "He..." she sighed heavily, "...has been through a lot. Something you and I cannot dare to imagine. As much of a slob as Jaraiya is, he told me all about it with every detail."

You didn't question more. You know you cannot get anything out of it since it is not her place to tell you, so you ended the conversation with a hmm.

Later you decided to talk to him about what happened on the mission. You were a little hesitant that he might make you look small again like he used to do back in his teenage years. But your mentor's words stuck with you. He told you all about it and even complimented you here and there.

That is when you started to open up a bit to him and started talking to him more often. You didn't realize when this rivalry turned into friendship which led to something even more.

Until one day, you found yourself giggling like crazy as you are making dinner at his house and he is ranting about how tough it is to sign all those paperwork as Hokage. Giving you occasional kisses on the neck and hugs from behind whenever he finds your giggle cute.

Could you please give us some hc about the way itachi and sasuke grew up? The whole teen criminal parents deal sounds really interesting to me.

Besides the crimes, they had totally different early childhoods

Itachi was the “group project”. Basically he was raised by his parents, his mom’s friends, and the school nurse

If they knew there was going to be a serious fight, Mikoto would leave him with Kushina with his food, stroller, some clothes, and enough cash for a train ticket

She knew the drill; if she or Fugaku didn’t at least call her within 24hrs, she needed to take Itachi to the address provided at tell the old woman Mikoto sent her

So he had a lot of aunts and uncles that looked out for him

Some of whom had kids he could play with

It made not having much seem like he had it all

Fugaku always knew he was sharp witted kid and bragged about it with his friends/gang

Once he started school and it was confirmed that he was a little genius, he got to skip a grade (Fugaku did not shut up about this)

He didn’t think anything of his parents and their friends being so young until other other kids pointed it out

Which by the way he was too smart for his own good and would state facts about his schoolmates parents too

Such as; he never saw one of their fathers, the one and an older brother that clearly had a different mother, etc.. which would have gotten him in trouble

And his dad was too blunt to not point out Itachi was technically right and maybe those little bastards need to mind their own business

Which got both the boys in trouble with Mikoto

When he found out that he was going to be a big brother was around the same time his parents moved into their nicer and bigger home, so she was really excited

It didn’t take him long to catch on to the tings his parents did

Their tattoos, having to go into his room when Izuna came over, the genuine fear in some people’s eyes when they saw his parents, this blonde girl named Tsunade tending to wounds in their home rather than them going to a hospital, etc..

he also cracked their safe to find stacks of cash, some pictures, and a gun that he promptly closed back

After some time, Izuna approaches him and asked him if he knew what his parents did

He didn’t know completely, but he knew enough to know this was some sort of test

So he told him that his father was bouncer at his club and his mother was a manager (their cover stories)

And Izuna gave him a cold smile and told him “good job”

It left an impression on him meeting one of the most respected Uchiha and receiving his praise

After that meeting, he took it on himself to sort of guide Sasuke away from the things he could and warn him about the things he couldn’t

Sasuke’s childhood was a lot different in that he was heavily guarded. His earliest memory was an Uchiha gathering wearing a suit and tie that people were complimenting him on it

He didn’t get a sugar coated upbringing at any point. He knew his family was Yakuza

No one messed with him, especially because they feared his parents

A lot of those aunts and uncles Itachi had were either dead or moved away

more often than not it was just his family, their associates, and the Namikaze-Uzumaki’s for his lavish birthday parties

Their father would take the boys for ice cream every Saturday and wherever they wanted to go any other day. Their mother would help them with homework while they were young and planned most of their bigger vacations with the boys in mind

Both boys were self sufficient and clear minded rather early and didn’t require much hand holding

This lead Fugaku and Izuna taking the boys to actually see what the Uchiha (under Izuna at least) do when Hyuga’s try to deal in their territory

But it didn’t really bother Sasuke as much as it seemed to bother Itachi even though he was older

And Izuna noticed

He told him that these men would do the exact same thing to his little brother and parents if they went into Hyuga territory acting like they owned the place

They have to send a clear message

And Itachi was old enough to help with that message

From then on, whenever Fugaku got a call, he took Itachi with him

Itachi slowly got desensitized to the violence and developed a partnership with Madara’s ward, Shisui. An Uchiha around his age that clearly didn’t getting his hands dirty

He also obviously had his own agendas, which made Itachi always questions what this guy was getting out of it

This eventually lead to Mikoto finding out about Itachi acting as an active member of the Uchiha when he showed up with Shisui to a meeting

Yes, she scolded Fugaku about Itachi being too young (13). But he pointed out that they both did MUCH worse at his age and that Itachi was keeping his nose fairly clean when it came to his involvement. She couldn’t expect him to stay out of what they’ve raised him in

Sasuke was given a clear choice; forget what he’s seen and he can live with Kushina and Minato (be a good normal kid), or he can follow in his families footsteps (crime)

Sasuke wanted to do what Itachi did and that was that

Mikoto made sure her boys knew what to do in case of them becoming orphans, who to avoid/suspect, which officers were with them, what not to say, and that they actually completed school

I suppose it depends on what you deem as abusive. But I, personally, think constantly belittling your kid is just as abusive as slapping them around.

Sakura's mom, multiple times, has called Sakura a pig or a slob for such little things as not folding laundry right. And her father has no backbone and will agree with her mom.

When Sakura became a Chunin, instead of congratulating her, or saying anything positive, her mom called her a pig and said she would get in everyone's way. Sakura looked pretty deflated over that and was like "Did you have to say that so loud?" Imagine training for years under someone as famous as Tsunade, and becoming a Chunin, and your mom still not having something nice to say. That's pretty fuck imo. No wonder Sakura has 0 confidence in herself.

When Sakura was 8 and told her dad she made a friend, he responded with "Wow! You have friends!" and looked surprised. Then asked if her friend was cute and if he could meet her. I know this was probably supposed to be viewed as wholesome but it came off kinda mean and weird to me.

Her parents look uncomfortable and off put by Sakura hugging them. Like they don't want her touching them.

Ino has stated she doesnt like being around Sakura's parents, or Sakura being around them.

Sakura finds excuses not to be around them.

If you look at her childhood room, it's completely empty of things. You would think a kids room would have posters, or pictures on the wall. Or to own at least plushies. She has none of that. She has a bed, a mirror, a dresser, that one outfit we never see her wear, and at one point a picture of Team 7. That she hides sometimes. Like she's not allowed to have it displayed.

A lot of the time Sakura is shown at home, she just looks sad and miserable.

Sakura won't let her parents watch, or be alone with her parents and instead will trust her with Iruka instead as a babysitter.

Idk, maybe I'm reading too much into it but a lot of these actions look real shitty. And if you pair that with her insecurities, some things start making a looottt of sense.

grief and how (not) to process it

a/n: yeah i don't know what else to say other that my naruto era is making a resurgence 🤡

So, no one takes Jiraiya's passing well - Naruto's as he is in the series, Takashi isn't much better than Naruto but alot more emotional, Tsunade's just barely on the cusp of falling back into destructive habits if not for the fact that she's Hokage, Hyou's just trying to keep everything together as always, and Tae's currently in denial of his grief entirely, claiming that there's nothing TO grieve for a man he never knew. They're all miserable.

On top of his denial, Tae's also pushing people away and lashing out - nothing explosive, just small bursts he immediately regrets and makes himself spiral worse. Everyone else mentioned above has at least some support network to fall back on but Tae isolates himself and avoids anyone trying to reach out. It gets to where Shizune really wants to get through to him because no one else could up to that point, but when she gently reaches for his arm he yanks it away and tells her to just let it go.

Eventually Naruto pulls himself into a decent enough state to hand something over. They look at each other from a small distance away and they both look awful. Tae asks what it is, Naruto says he doesn't know but Jiraiya wanted him to have it in case anything like this happened. Tae asks what about his brother and Naruto says he doesn't know again but angrier, they part ways.

It turns out to be some kind of puzzle but Tae's in no state to decode it. He fiddles around with it for a few days, ignores it, then eventually throws it in the lake before he immediately jumps in to find the damn thing. He comes home soaking wet with it in a death grip. Parallels a scene when he was younger coming home from the rain after ditching a ceremony where Jiraiya was supposed to be given some sort of award.

When he does finally crack the code, it opens up to reveal coordinates. Tae requests time off to see it through and Tsunade grants it without a second thought, but Genma's out on a mission at the time.

Kotetsu and Izumo cut in and say that they'll go with him as he turns to leave, they all but beg Tsunade not to let him go alone - she agrees to these terms too and they're an official 3-man team for this temporary expedition. If Tae's disappointed or relieved it doesn't show, his face hasn't moved from the blank slate it's been since they were given the news that Jiraiya was killed.

The trip there is tense and quiet aside from the boyfriends trying their best to lighten the atmosphere to no avail, it's thankfully short. When they get there Tae recognizes it from one of the few positive memories he had of his father; it was very infrequent, but Jiraiya used to take him and his siblings to this waterfall in the summer.

What they're actually here for is behind the waterfall, a cave hidden by complex seals only two or more people could've undone. Kotetsu and Izumo stay near the entrance out of courtesy but they can see quite a bit inside.

It was almost like makeshift living quarters in there, only that everything was caked in dust and hadn't looked like there was a living visitor in years. Probably somewhere Jiraiya could hunker down and stew in his ideas for a while. Tae finds old manuscripts for his father's novels, notes for his travels, even plans for tracking Orochimaru's whereabouts to bring him home. This place was OLD old, then.

Just as he's about to leave, Tae spots something under the mess of papers and decades old empty sake bottles. He undoes the seal on the floor and a compartment reveals itself with a medium sized wooden box inside. In it, are two scrolls labelled "brats", and "mine".

Tae goes for the second one first, finding more of Jiraiya's unfinished drafts and cheesy writing - seriously, he doesn't know what appeal Kakashi sees in those books - but he also finds pictures of his father's youth, old photos of Minato and Kushina, of the Sanin Jiraiya couldn't quite bring himself to throw out even after all this time. It's all, predictably, very personal. Taeru puts everything back.

In the first, he finds yet more drafts - they're strewn in-between what seemed to be letters never sent and pages torn out of a notebook. The scene changes to Minato peering over his sensei's shoulder, jittery and giddy because he's just received news that he's going to have a baby. Jiraiya's almost as disbelieving as Minato is. The more Tae reads, the more scenes from the past we, the audience, get to see.

Kaoru didn't plan to have any more kids after Hyou but much like her first kid that's just how things shook out, Jiraiya was nervous but ready to dedicate himself to being a parent, he started planning to write a children's book for his nin on the way (and gets laughed at but it doesn't deter him), discarded manuscripts for this were among the contents in the first scroll. It sounded like Jiraiya really was excited for all of this.

After Kaoru's passing when the twins were just a few weeks old, the notes became scarce and haphazard. What few excerpts were chicken scrawl. Jiraiya was obviously in pain.

Tae read through his father's regrets, his fears, his conflict between staying with him and Takashi and potentially bringing more danger to their door or distancing himself to lessen the likelihood of another attack. The latter was what he picked but reading his father's thoughts at the time shifted his view on things a bit.

Finally, Tae got to the last untouched thing from the first scroll. A book with poorly drawn cartoon characters on the first page. It started out as a children's book, talking about how his father wanted to dedicate this to his unborn child, but eventually turned into Jiraiya apologizing for his missteps if the boys ever found this; regretting not holding them so much closer to heart and being too much of a coward to tell them how he actually felt. He couldn't bring himself to do it in person, but the least he could do was put down his feelings here.

Kotetsu and Izumo ran in at the sound of Tae's wail, finding him doubled over in front of that book and clinging to a picture of Jiraiya holding his newborn boys. Tetsu and Zumo stayed with him as Tae cried it out, rubbed his back while he screamed it raw and helped pack up when night fell and they needed to head back.

Tae was too exhausted to move but Kotetsu carried him on his back without complaint, Izumo guarded that wooden box and its contents like it held secrets to shake the five nations.

A few days later when Kotetsu and Izumo come to check up on him again, Tae's a lot more level headed and closer to what they're sure is "normal" for him; still flat faced and understandably upset, but no traces of that scary "autopilot" look he had the whole time. Tae invites them in and apologizes for his behavior properly with tea and cut fruit, the chunin tease him for being so formal, they're friends, aren't they?

Kotetsu does admit, however, that it was a little nice in a way since Tae hadn't needed their help that much since they were all the same rank. And even though he wished it could've been found through better circumstances, how he missed that. They both then resolve to be reliable friends that Tae could lean on more often again.

Tae takes a second to stare at his friends, then hugs them before either can get too skittish and change their minds or the subject. They're too busy fussing over the sudden gesture to comment about the smile Tae hides in their shoulders, along with more tear stains.

Sakura’s depressed in Boruto and nothing can change my mind

In Naruto/Boruto anime, Sakura seems like a happy person, but in Kishi’s manga (aka canon), she’s depressed.

I am also depressed so I would know. But my depression’s worst than Sakura’s (she hasn’t harmed herself yet, not that I know of anyway).

Being a single parent with a job and having a husband that's always away on "missions" doesn't help with her depression. But she did chase after Sasuke for 500+ chapters/episodes and that led her to being a single mother with depression.

Anyway, signs of depression are:

Suicidal

Feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and/or emptiness

Angry outbursts, easily angered, frustrated, irritable, even over the smallest things

Loss of interests of hobbies and/or interests

Not sleeping properly or sleeping too much or other sleeping problems

Tiredness and/or lack of energy

Weight loss/gain

Anxiety and/or restlessness

Relying on alcohol and/or drugs

Slowed thinking, speaking, and/or body movements

Mood swings

Withdrawing from close friends and/or family

Feeling of worthlessness and/or guilt

Trouble thinking, trouble concentrating and/or trouble remembering things

Fake smiling

Now, here's why Sakura's depressed (tell me if I'm wrong in some of these):

Suicidal:

There's nothing on this topic and hopefully there's never anything on this topic, because Sakura's a good female led (if only she was written better) and if she killed herself in Boruto, that would leave Sarada an "orphan" (because Sasuke is a criminal now again) and there is a wild theory going around that Sasuke was killed by Code (and without the Rinnegan, I wouldn't be surprised).

2. Feeling of sadness, hopelessness, and/or emptiness:

Her introduction in Gaiden is enough said. Kishi made everyone else look normal, yet why did he make her look tired and empty? (This photo will come back in two more points)

3. Angry outbursts, easily angered, frustrated, irritable, even over the smallest things:

Her child asked one fucking question and she goes and destroys the fucking house? She didn't need to go that far, did she? Over a mere question?

This pic is enough said.

4. Loss of hobbies and/or interests:

We don't really see her much to determined if she has hobbies and/or interests and whether she has lost interest in those things.

5. Not sleeping properly or sleeping too much or other sleeping problems:

Shizune has confirmed that Sakura has always had a habit of fainting, meaning she could've started her depression back in the original Naruto.

6. Tiredness and/or lack of energy:

But then again, she does have a job and is a single parent, it's really no surprise she's sleep-deprived.

7. Weight loss/gain:

I haven't seen any of this other than when she was pregnant with Sarada. So she's good in this part.

8. Anxiety and/or restlessness:

They are a lot more (literally every time she appears), but there is a limit on pics you can use a post, so yea... In all of them, even the pics above, Sakura's sweating, which is a common symptom of depression.

9. Relying on alcohol and/or drugs:

Luckily, she does not rely on this like Tsunade does (pretty sure she's depressed throughout the entire series, anime and manga. I mean, you can't blame her, Kakashi & Itachi, too).

10. Slowed thinking, speaking, and/or body movements:

I have not seen any of those, she still has fast reflexes. But as the manga goes on and Sakura gets more appearances, it might show, might not.

11. Mood swings:

Yes, this woman suffers from real bad mood swings. She destroyed her house over a question! She went from calm, to angry, to apologetic, to calm again.

12. Withdrawing from close friends and/or family:

She has not done this, after all, she does need to raise Sarada. But Sasuke, he never shows up so we can't really determined if she has. Her parents aren't shown in Boruto (anime and manga), so we can't really determined with them either, but I'm assuming she just cut them off after marrying (which would be bitching and make the fandom go off on her so I hope she didn't do it). Her closest friends are Ino, Hinata, and Naruto (maybe Lee). We see her often going out to drink with Hinata and Ino, but rarely interacting with Naruto, but that's probably because they have their own lives and families to raise.

13. Feeling of worthlessness and/or guilt:

In some pics above, you can tell by the facial expressions that she has the feeling of guilt or sometimes worthlessness, but guilt is the one that appears the most.

14. Trouble thinking, trouble concentrating, and/or trouble remembering things:

She couldn't even remember if the man she chased after for 500+ chapters wore glasses. You'd think she'd be able to remember a detail like that, after all, she's his ex-teammate, wife, and baby mama.

15. Fake smiling:

She has a lot of pics fake smiling, but there's a limit pic on a post.

I'm not saying Sai, Inojin, and Mitsuki (or anyone who fake smiles) is depressed, but I know that I fake smile when I'm depressed and Sakura fake smiles A LOT.

She is also the only Naruto female from her generation in Boruto to have wrinkles, bags under her eyes, and messing hair. Even Tsunade doesn't have those and she's 50+ in original Naruto!

Just a final thing, Sarada's literally the only happy person there. I feel like if Sarada wasn't there and never existed, SasuSaku would've been divorced (as a SasuSaku shipper, it would be a bit sad).

Sarada's just happy to have her family altogether and ignoring the fact that her father looks like he just wants to be sent on another mission and enjoyed dodging family time and was forced to be back in Konoha and her mother's depressed and tired. But I would expect this from Sarada, she only cares about her well-being, and she's terrible at reading people (Boruto, Sumire and Mitsuki, for example. Sumire's supposed to be one of her best friends, yet she couldn't see that she's blinded by rage like her own dad, that Mitsuki was in trouble and needed help, and Boruto was going through more than her and just needed people by his side, yet she sticks to downgrading him for her own pleasure. Shikadai in the manga and Sumire in the anime had to tell her to cut him some slack since he's depressed. I should do one about Boruto being depressed. I'm off topic...) This is NOT a Sarada-hate post, I apologize if it sounds like it is.

But yes, Sakura's depressed and nothing will change my mind.

tsunades grief means so much to me. it's the absence of something made tangible. she carries dan and nawaki with her everywhere, around her neck. she tries to drown the grief in alcohol and gambling. her bitterness becomes an abrasive exterior to scare people away from getting too involved. shizune sees right through, and she's impossible to shake. she keeps her distance from the life she once knew because she cant pretend it will ever be the same. watching her grow around her grief without ever losing her fierce love for those she lost is so powerful, and it's what i aspire to. she sees nawaki and dan in naruto, but never lets projection overcome her ability to see him as his own person... which is so much more than many of the adult figures in konoha could do (cough cough). she respects naruto's wishes and always encourages him to make his own choices. her giving him her necklace signifies a new chapter. she isnt letting go of her grief but she is passing on the love she had nowhere to put. she is allowing herself to be vulnerable again, to care again. she is a powerful kunoichi and a legendary sannin who honed her own jutsu and medical procedures. she wrote the textbooks. she is the MOMENT!!! She is a patient teacher to sakura, a strong leader, and a ferocious fighter. her love and loyalty are strong enough to shape destiny.
