IT Nightmares
I dreamed last night I was accidentally locked in a room at my old job, with IT. No one had ever locked the door, and I was the only one who had the code for the door lock, but they wouldn't let me access it because it was archived with the rest of the files that were Windows 95. It reset the code whenever a code we tried didn’t work.
Can someone tell me what this dream means? It was a nightmare.

That phrase, "Is it plugged in?" Is up there with, "did you turn it off and back on again?"
Tumblr media
A user at a remote site said they could not get online, and the computer was, "off the domain." According to them nothing had changed, it just stopped working.
So, I now make 1.5 hour drive in the middle of an incredibly busy day to discover they removed the VoIP phone that was at this desk.
For those unfamiliar with VoIP desk phones, it basically acts as a 2port switch so that you only need the one connection. Wall jack to phone, phone to pc, both have network access.
So when you unplug and remove the phone, you leave the pc disconnected from the network unless you plug the cable from the wall back in.
This is not rocket science, networks are not magic; despite what Apple tries to say, nothing, "just works." Devices need to be connected to be on a network.

It says "Fatal Error," think that's important?
Direct quote from an email that came to us today:
"I did get an error message in between somewhere, but I exited out of it and I'm not sure if that's what caused [the problem] or what the deal is, but I cannot get it to work."
