ok i have to think about this rationally & stop panicking so I can finally sleep. gonna talk to myself in the tags for a bit.
#ok so. no more 'but what if I'm faking it'. If I feel bad I Feel Bad. and I Feel Bad.#doesn't matter what my mom thinks or whatever I Feel Bad and definitely not good enough to ride a train for a few hours on sunday#and then go to school every day next week for multiple hours on a row. and walk to and from school. absolutely not.#I will simply have to call the doctor again and maybe show up for an appointment and we'll see what he says.#maybe I can convince him I actually don't feel good. I'll have to do that bc I don't have another choice ig.#who cares what the ppl at work think if maybe in 2 weeks I still don't feel good enough to come back.#I can't come to work if I feel bad. I couldn't fucking do anything there if standing up for a bit makes me dizzy!!#and if it takes multiple months or whatever. Then that's how it is. I can't be the first apprentice ever to get sick. There must be rules#and stuff for when this happens. I'll figure it out. Gonna take it one step at a time.#And the first step is to not go to school next week bc just the thought of it is making me sob uncontrollably.#good. i think that was everything i was worrying about. just hope my mom will be ok with me not going to school.#and I just have to be brave and call the doctor again on monday and send more emails and stuff.#but I have done it before I can do it again.#doddie redet#ok NOW good night. 🌃#is having trouble sleeping a symptom as well bc I've been having trouble sleeping since the beginning of this week...

Sorry if this is against the rules, but can I get HCs of Kokichi, Sonia, Tenko, Hiyoko, and Mikan with a fem!S/O who has Huntington's Disease? It's totally cool if not!! Totally understand this is a squick kind of topic!! If not all those characters, then Just Kokichi and Sonia is fine, but again, no pressure!! <3
ooo i would love to write this one!! ty for requesting it, i've never gotten sm characters in 1 req before! i'll organize them alphabetically :3c
danganronpa characters x fem!reader with huntington's disease !!
im sorry if i didnt portray it properly! i researched to the best of my ability!
+ ° . ୨ ♡ ୧ . °
╰╮🩰🧁〣 ♡ 〢🥛
hiyoko saionji
when you first meet, she kind of just makes fun of you, not quite understanding that you can't control the twitching and moving
hiyoko, being hiyoko, will make fun of you at first (bc of course she would)
however, once you explain everything, she'll make an effort to understand!
if you forget something, she'll politely remind you (if she remembers)
might tease you if you forget something important, but nothing too mean
rlly tries being patient, which is hard. but she loves you so much that she tries anyway
kokichi ouma
he rlly doesn't question it too much when you first meet
he's met a lot of different types of characters, being the leader of D.I.C.E and all, so someone with Huntington's? not a big deal
might tease you from time to time, but nothing too mean
he knows you can't always control the way you move, so he tries not to dwell on it too much
keeps an eye on you while you're eating, given that having trouble swallowing can be a symptom
if anyone looks at you weird, he'll fight them! or at least try to
mikan tsumiki
like kokichi, she doesn't seem to mind or be too bothered by it
she's a nurse; she's seen a lot of things and is well aware of what Huntington's is
the occasional jerk or twitch might startle her if she's not expecting it; but overall, she doesn't mind too much
very wary if your hands are twitching, just because of her past traumas
however, if it's your face that twitches more, she doesn't care too much
if it's getting frustrating or too uncomfortable, she'll gladly comfort you!!
doesn't mind if you forget things; bc she does too
if you have a wheelchair, she'll push you around wherever you want to go, even if she's not that strong
startled at first; but after asking a few (million) questions, she'll understand
since she's been sheltered most of her life, she doesn't understand a lot of outside experiences, but she is more than willing to learn
will ask you how you cope with it all, and will assist the best she can!!
she'll happily drive you to physical therapy in her expensive sportscar, making sure you're happy and comfortable the whole way there
you are spoiled like a little princess <33
tenko chabashira
immediately sees you as someone she needs to take great care of
a girl? with an incurable disease that causes her to twitch and forget things? yeah, she's all over you, helping out the best she can
writes things down for you, even if it's something you know you can probably remember yourself
sometimes she just needs a strong "no, im ok" or a "no, i can do this myself" to remember that you've got everything
will 100% carry you if you get tired, or just don't want to walk!!
tries to do her best to support you physically
knows insomnia is a symptom, and will take naps with you just to make sure you go to sleep
she's ready to wake up when you do <3

hey hey! i just realised it's been a while since i've sent you an ask, so i'm just here to check up on you! you sleeping well? not having too much trouble with school? taking care of yourself? that's all <3 - niko
Hello, Niko!! It probably doesn't help that I haven't been hella active. Some happenings on Twitter have taken a swing at me so I've been less active on social.
I am sleeping well bc I'm taking cold medicine
I have A's and high B's, so school ain't horrible!
I am. Trying to take care of myself. More physically. Idk why remembering to wash my fucking face is so hard tbh. Mentally, I'm more okay than normal.
I was able to quarantine for a month without any symptoms, so I'm home rn. My mom is putting finishing touches on our Christmas tree (earlier than normal since I have to go back on the 29th) and I made mochas for us :)
I hope you're doing good too (*¯ ³¯*)♡

Gosh this felt important so I'm writing a proper response
(For context I'm 24yrs old and got diagnosed in my early 20s. I've also been medicated since three years back and I assume you are as well.):
Yes. This is extremely common, both in your teens and into adulthood. My two cents is that the most important part is noticing that:
Yes, it does happen, and then find ways to work with it.
First step is to chart out your mood and energy levels.
You can use a mood tracker journal or an app with the same purpose. The main thing is it needs to be easy for you to use regularly and long term. (I use an app called daylio).
The point of this is to see when, why and how long you have these energy variations over time, so you can plan accordingly in the future.
Some likely causes:
Having a good energy day/week previously and using up too much energy, then running out very quickly the coming days, making your symptoms worse since you're tired.
Hormone imbalances, such as periods.
You're more stressed than usual.
There's not enough variation in your week and you're tired from sheer boredom.
Etc. Etc. (These are just the ones i experience).
Charting out your energy levels is also very important long term, because this aspect of adhd is sometimes misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder, so having these energy variations on the reccord can really help with future treatment. (Though there are ofc people who have both).
Then you need to find ways to mitigate the fallout of having less energy sometimes.
I noticed you're still in your teens, so your issues are going to be different from mine.
I have to hide money so I don't over spend, I have to prepare food so I don't suddenly go without, and I have to cancel meetings a lot to preserve energy.
As a teenager, though, I remember having a lot if trouble managing school and my own expectations.
Frankly, ideally, someone should help you with this but not everyone has that, so here are a few things I've picked up on:
1. Managing your schedule is very important, so being aware that a lot of ppl w adhd have time blindness will help tremendously with that:
Try to set up your week (visually) so that you value school/work as much as you do sleep and leasure activities.
Making sure you're well rested and not bored will help keep your energy levels stabile.
HowToADHD on youtube has a ton of good tips and resources. Highly recomend her channel.
2. Remember that Everyone gets tired. We just have brains that have a harder time managing the fallout of being tired.
It takes energy to mask your symptoms and it takes energy to mitigate fallout.
Starting on a task and ending a task takes energy as well, so scheduling in an hour or two between tasks (and leisure time/sleep) is pretty crusial so you don't do more than you're able.
3. Most importantly: be kind to yourself.
Thinking "why can't I do this today? I could do it yesterday" is sadly very comon. But frankly, being critical of yourself is much less usefull than acceptance.
Acceptance and knowlege is key in living with adhd I find. I hope this helps somewhat, and that it wasn't too all over the place.
(I focused a lot on scheduling bc i find it is essential to managing my energy, but you need to evaluate which aspects of life affects your energy levels the most).
hi fellow folks with adhd, do you sometimes get flare ups? like days where your symptoms just seem a lot worse and you're so much more understimulated and focusing and functioning just seeks so much harder
#yes#adhd#muffin rambles#man speaking of this#i soent too much time answering this i forgot to eat woops#hope ot works out for u op
