How did I never know you’re a makeup artist??😭 that’s so cool!! I have to ask though, do you have a favorite colorful eye palette? I’m getting into having fun with my makeup and not just doing whatever is “trendy” ig. But I can’t find a good, affordable colorful eye palette 😭😭
yes yes!! I’m a professional makeup artist, working on getting my esthetician license 💪🏻💪🏻
(Putting my recommendations under the cut bc im a yapper and like, this is my favorite thing to talk about ever)
AND FUN MAKEUP MY BELOVED OH MYLANTA OKOKOKOKOK- so here’s the thing. When it comes to affordable, colorful makeup, Colourpop is THE way to go. I love their nine pan palettes and their 36 pan palette. Not to mention the sales they have CONSTANTLY. You can get them in ulta if you don’t want to pay for shipping, and the quality for the price is something you can’t go wrong with.
Another great one is Juvia’s Place, and their pans are so big, they can also be used all over the face!
Glamlite is another super nice one, and their palettes go on sale a lot too! Plus they’re usually themed, which is super fun to display 🥹
THAT SAID!!!
Blendbunny is my favorite brand of colorful makeup. Their palettes are a little more pricey for sure, but the colors are pigmented, they blend like butter, and their “blends” palette has basically every color you’d ever need (also some of their palettes get marked down like. A TON). Shipping for me takes two days, and it’s a brand I constantly get eager to reach for.
IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT ANY OF THEM LMK WHICH ONES YOU LIKE THE BEST BC I LOVE TALKING ABOUT MAKEUP MWAH MWAH
#also bear in mind that some palettes will say ‘pigment’ or ‘artistry’ palette#and basically that just means that IN THE US#they are prone to staining because it is a CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT dye instead of carmine#they won’t hurt you or make you go blind#but they can stain so I just like to put out the lil disclaimer 🤭🤭

How / what to makeup
(I feel so silly making this post but well if there's one place that's good to feel silly it's here, right? It's been fuckin' forever - as in, pre-COVID - that I've bought makeup, and Irather follow suggestions from real people like y'all than advertised posts)
Dear people - what kind of makeup brands are we using these days? Ideally stuff that's kind of affordable, because I need to start from scratch.
I'm gearing up - hopefully - for job interviews, so I'm thinking a good eye color palette (Colourpop? Or are any of those large palettes on Amazon decent? I like bright colors but it's good to have some more neutral tones too obv), some eye pencils/liners, a red and a pink lipstick or gloss, mascara (Covergirl still or are there better ones for the same price?), a translucent powder (I think E.L.F. was the last I used) or just a light foundation (Fenty was awesome but too much $$ atm), and a simple blush.
Please throw your recommendations/faves at me! Here's some Pedro (and Coco) tax for your attention. <3

My summer makeup – what I use and why.
My summer makeup routine is quite simple, mainly because I live in the humidity equivalent of a rice cooker. I deal with high humidity and high temperatures all summer long and most of the time, the makeup is just there to make me feel a little more pulled together. So here’s what I use.
Matte concealer – NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Concealer
Depending on the day, I will or won’t let this concealer with a powder. Some days I don’t and the concealer sets on it’s own beautifully, and some days I do since it’s so moist outside that if I don’t it will just come off my face. A matte concealer works to counteract the sweating and humidity that I deal with. If you are looking to emulate this, I would definitely suggest a thin, matte concealer, that way when you do sweat and if the makeup gets broken up, it’s not in thick layers on your skin. The name of the game is thin layers that don’t weigh down your skin.
Highlight – Tower 28 Beauty SuperDew No Shimmer Highlight
I am not a massive fan of powder highlight unless I’m going to be photographed, so I like having a “wet” highlight. This one doesn’t clog my pores or irritate my skin, so that’s why I pick this one. If I get sweaty, the highlight pulls together the (un)intentional dewy look. You’ve just gotta work with the sweat if you live where I do. This highlight looks the most natural on me while still being noticeable. The name of the game with wet highlights is not being able to feel them once they’re applied.
Mascara – elf cosmetics lash ‘n’ roll mascara
Mascara pulls my looks together for me; if I only want to wear one bit of makeup, it’ll usually be mascara. This one is affordable for me, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and wears well. I haven’t had issues with humidity effecting the mascara beyond drooping the eyelashes. I personally go for a more natural lash look without clumping and with tapered length effects on the lashes.
Shimmer eyeshadow – colourpop shadow palettes
I just like shimmer eyeshadow. I go for chunky almost glittery eyeshadows, which make an illusion of moisturized skin from a distance. This is a way to get a ‘wet’ look without actually having sticky eyelids. I like colourpop (eye)shadow a lot, it’s never irritated my eyes or skin, and it’s affordable for me. I reach for Deja Brew in the summer a lot and Petals en Pointe in the winter. I really like one color all over the lid and blended out and these are good for me to do that. You can use literally any eyeshadow though. I would stress having one that you know doesn’t irritate your eyes so that if any sweat gets into your eyes, you can naturally cry/rinse it out with limited irritation.
Matte Lipstick – merit signature lipstick
Soft matte lips are low maintenance and flattering. I personally don’t wear nude lips or natural-coloured lipsticks since I find my lips to be pigmented enough as they are. I’ll normally wear coloured lips if it’s something like a red. The right soft matte lip will feel like nothing on the lips and wear down better than a balmy formula. It also eliminates any stickiness on your lips that may cling to hair or add more weight to your face when your sweating. The soft matte lip isn’t the 2016 caked on matte lipstick, instead it’s a thin layer of matte lipstick or a thin layer of blotted off satin lipstick. This leaves a barely-there feeling while having pigment on your lips.
Lip Oil / Balm – Merit Shade Slick lip oil / Merit flush balm
If you do want that extra slip on your lips, I would still suggest wearing something lighter than a lip gloss. You totally can if that’s what you’re used to, but I find that lip oils and balms tend to be lighter and less sticky. Shade Slick has no fragrance and very flattering shades while the Flush Balm also has no fragrance and has a comfortable balm slip to it. It’s just whichever you prefer. It totally does not have to be these lips that I mentioned; Burts Bees has a really nice tinted lip balm, the drug store has some great lip oils now, and you can even just get a matte lipstick and layer on a little balm on top for the same look.
Overall, this look is just meant to be a little bit more than nothing. It’s for the days where you do want to wear something, but you don’t want to have to lock it down like drag makeup to keep it in place. An aspect of this routine is that it will wear off, just evenly wearing off. Feel free to take this routine and make it your own with what you prefer/what works best for you, and let me know if there are any summer products you swear by.
Happy travels – Annie, the crosseyed cricket.

ooo do you have any recommendations for lip liners? i’ve only ever had one and i lost it lol
Before I recommend, I want to stress the importance of making sure the companies you’re purchasing from are not funding or supporting the genocide taking place this very minute in Gaza by contributing to Israel’s funds. I haven’t purchased a lipliner in like 6 months because I buy a lot at once, so I haven’t checked up to see if these brands have been contributing. Please do your due diligence before supporting any of these big brands. one liner can easily equal one bullet.
nyx USED to be my tried and true, until they “reformulated” their lip liners because my old liner colors are not matching up to the new ones even though they’re the SAME SHADE, but i’m afraid of change so i bought like 22 of the same liners 7 years ago, so i’m good for a few more years. their shades now are still good, but i can’t promise the shade you get will always be the same shade so if you like one, nab a bunch.
colourpop is another favorite of mine, even if they’re stupid fucking liners literally escape the pencil after the first use. they’re so good that i just pick it up and put it back in the pencil lol
tower 28 is quickly climbing the ranks of my fav liners and glosses.
mac used to be one of my favs until i found out they’re not cruelty free (still have a couple of old liners, since they last a good chunk of time, i’m talking years for me)
lime crime lip and charlotte tilbury also have good lip liners but i don’t like to break the bank for them often.
above all, beauty supply stores have like THE best lip liners and they’re ridiculously cheap.
**more recs in the comments** 💋

I'm a baby goth who really wants to get better at makeup and more specifically eyeliner similar to what you do. Do you have any products or tips you reccomend for getting started? I try to look up advice online but it's overwhelming and it's kinda embarrassing to ask for advice irl.. ty in advance if you decide to answer this.
hi !! idk how good my advice will be but ill do my best to answer as well as i can !
as a heads up i freehand everything but i have seen people use the tape method to keep their liner/eyeshadow straight (which is just putting a piece of scotchtape on the side of ur eye where u plan to have a straight area of liner)
i found using water activated liner helped me a Lot when i started doing more graphic looks at the end of last year (since its water activated u can easily just wipe it off with a makeup wipe or wet tissue) but there is a difference in feel when applying it compared to using a liner pen (to me at least) ie the brush length makes it easier for me to do the smaller details as it gives me more control, but once i got a good feel for doing stuff like that it made using the pen easier. water activated is also much better if u plan on more colorful looks; liner pens do come in colors but they dont pop as well or as bright as the water liners.
as for making ur liner symmetrical… not sure how to give the best advice for that 🤔 the way i do it is ill line out one eye with the outline of what i want to do & try to match the other eye best i can. i have shakey hands but ive found planting my elbow on my desk table & my lining hand on my cheek really helps to stabilize myself so my lines come out straight. to straighten out my lines (like if i made one side to thick) ill just wipe a smidge of it with a wet cotton pad with water liners, but when i use a liner thats waterproof i use micellar water or a make up wipe to fix it.
as for my lids i use a mehron skin prep toner (its the only product ive found that works for my Very oily lids, but its definitely not for everyone… stings like SHIT if its in ur eye especially since i am… not supposed to use it for what i have been 😬. adding that bc if i do t use it sometimes the oil will denature the liner & smear it all over my lids lol. on top of that i put foundation & whatever eyeshadow i want on top of that when the foundation is dry enough it wont smear. putting liner over whatever u layered on ur lids is a commitment & a little hard to fix if u want to put the liner on in 1 go which is why i recommend practice & playing around !!
dont be scared about it not looking nice at that start, just start with something simple to get that feel for it so u can work up to what u want 👍
as for products, i got my water inks from bymelolops (latina owned, based in puerto rico !) i bought this liner brush (and a few water inks as well) from gavissi. my eyeshadow is mostly sugarpill (i only buy when its on sale, its a little pricey but worth it) but if ur on more of a budget colourpop has good options. as for liner pens, ive been using the last of my nyx liner, but am looking for a good alternative (loreal supports isr*el) so im unfortunately not much help here as im Also on the look out 😮💨
i definitely suggest getting some cheap stuff to play around with !! many places like sephora & ulta also sell small sample sizes of liners so u can get one of those to try out before u commit to something. a lot of what i started with years ago came from the dollar store bc that was all i could afford at the time lolll

me and my girlfriends two year anniversary is coming up, she's been into makeup as of recent and I was wondering if there are any good yet affordable brands that you like to use or would recommend for others?
And while we're at it, what's the nicest thing anyone has ever gotten you for an anniversary? What's the worst?
Much love as always girly, hope you've been doing well
Hi little love, happy almost two year anniversary 🥹💕 I love anniversaries almost as much as I love weddings. It’s so warm and mushy and full of love. Proud of you two love birds.
My favorite anniversary gift was a weekend charter to Nantucket. We stayed in the most GORGEOUS East Coast, Blue Blood home on Nantucket Island. Played on the yachts. Watched the sailing races (it was during Figawi weekend) and spent entirely too much time in the bedroom 😅
Worst anniversary gift: he forgot. And I broke up with him. Fair exchange of gifts, yes? (The relationship was a disaster anyway).
Okay, time for girl talk 💋
First and foremost, I’d be a bad bestie if I didn’t hammer home that the underlying skin is the MOST important makeup base. The skincare: retinoid, AHA, moisturizer, SUNSCREEN. And Botox because plastic surgeon and wrinkles are against our religion 🙂↕️
Most days I love a good no-makeup-makeup look. So mascara, skin tint (with SPF), a little lippy (balm/mask). I splurge on skin base stuff (Chanel, YSL). So you can dupe everything else.
Best Mascara: Maybelline lash sensational IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST. I look like I’m about to take off the airport runway and it doesn’t clump.
Best lip: Morphe is an excellent dupe brand for expensive liquid and cream lipsticks/stains. You’ll be kissing it off anyway. Don’t waste your money on expensive stuff.
Eyeshadow palettes: COLOURPOP. Omg. For less than 10 bucks there are incredible shades, high pigment, very rich colors. Obsessed.
Blush: literally any strawberry drugstore pigment is fine enough
Happy gift shopping baby 🤍

A review of my first full week off from school.
daylist: celtic music renaissance saturday night (concerto, celebration, lute, cottagecore) [it was not celtic at all (except maybe for some bardcore) but very.. slow, chilled, indie, minimalist.. lady vocals]
The Target near me had a bunch of Colourpop on uber-clearance so of course I went and picked up some things and I'm kind of floored? One of the items was this plum eyeshadow palette and normally cheap palettes don't have much payoff on my skin but I swatched the colors and they all showed up so well??? And then I got this black cherry colored lipstick by them which is super hydrating and has such excellent staying power and I got two more the very next day. Definitely an easy swap for the deep red butter gloss I'd been using (and somehow lost today lol).
I had a chat with my postdoc early in the week about summer lab goals and I'm so excited! I think we should be able to build a really good set of preliminary data that I can use for my qualifying exam (this time next year--eek!) and potentially even for a fellowship application. My advisor thinks we have perhaps too many goals, but there's nothing inherently wrong with a bit of ambition, and he's generally quite supportive of what I want to accomplish this summer.
Kind of took it easy all week, got into lab a bit but didn't push too hard. Next week I'll begin the online bioinformatics course I found, and I'll work on getting my old data and code out of my undergraduate accounts.
For dinners this past week I was eating GOOD. I baked salmon (tried some new spice mixes~), made rice, and made this summery fruit salad salsa thing off the cuff and it was excellent (1 mango diced, 2 nectarines diced, half a lime juiced, half a red onion diced, an arbitrary amount of cilantro (didn't want to add things like strawberries bc I knew it'd have to be stored and didn't want it to get soggy)). A warm-chilled temperature dynamic with yum-yum sauce, sesame seeds, and nori strips for garnish UGHHH SO GOOD but next time I need to get higher quality salmon though, I think.
I started reading Hawkeye 2012 and it's pretty enjoyable! It's been years since I've read any comic with the intent to finish the full run, but this has been really fun. Stylistically, it's.. "scratchier" than what I'm accustomed to (I read AvX like four times in middle school), but I'm definitely feeling the pull to get back into comics and graphic novels; there are several on my to-read list. Best thing was that I was able to borrow it on Libby!!!!
Speaking of content, I binged Loot on AppleTV, that was fun.
So I mean it was a great week. And today I'm thankful for that.
still need to clean my room tho

hii! im another bimbo and was wondering what your favorite glosses are? esp if u have any plumping glosses you love <3 im itching to try more but not sure what to commit to~ love ur content!!<3
Thanks for this ask and the follow up one, I'm going to use this one to share way more info about glosses (especially the ones i have that are available at sephora) than anyone would expect from me. lol. I like got on a computer to like really type this up.
Lip Glosses! In no particular order that I have that are currently sold at sephora thay I like 💖Glossier Lip Gloss - I really like this one.It feels like kinda thick and not too sticky. Just makes me feel like my lips are soft pillows. There's a sparkly one and you can't feel the sparke much which is nice 💖Pat McGrath Labs Lip Gloss - these feel slippier and thinner than the glossier ones, it's comfortable. 💖Buxom Lipglosses - i have so many of different buxom lipglosses, they just feel like the standard to me and can be easy to find sets with minis. Not as heavy as glossier, and thicker than pat mcgrath. You can feel the sparkle in them a little bit more than others. Theyre plumping ones but not like extreme, it's def a minty tingly feeling 💖GXVE Lip Gloss - these smell sooo yummy, like a vanilla cookie.Feels like a yummier smelling less slippy version of pat mcgrath to me 💖Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss - These feel thinner and slippy, it's minty but less than buxom. Feels pretty similiar to the pat mcgrath. 💖Too Faced Lip Injectioin Power Plumping Hydrating Lip Gloss - the main selling point is the princess vibes, they're alright but you can feel the glitter and not a lot of plumping for what it is 💖Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme Hydrating Lip Plumper - This feels very thin and slippy, like almost makes me think of more of a like a lip serum when you compare to other glosses. The most stringy and plumping of this list by far. 💖Grande Cosmetics GrandeLIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper Gloss - i used to have this one, it think it reminded me of the glossier, with plumping, didn't like the applicator as much, it was a weird rubbery thing. Stingy minty plumping but less than the too faced extreme 💖Makeup by Mario MoistureGlow Plumping Lip Serum - these feel like tingly and minty for plumping, they just make my lips feel soft and pillowy. I have two and light pink one is kinda milky and will gather in any lines. I don't like how you can't turn it back down if you push it up to far 💖Lawless Forget the Filler Lip-Plumping Line-Smoothing Tinted Lip Balm - this is the newest on this lsit to me. It feels more like applying chapstick w a bit of minty. I feel like this seemed hyped up some and I don't get it so far
The couple other not sephora plumping glosses (not all) that i currently own: 💖Makeup Revolution Pout Bomb Plumping Gloss - on the thicker side, not very minty/tingly.I have a really light color and it applies well which can be tricky 💖ColourPop So Juicy Plumping Gloss - thick, minty, a bit stickier than others. nostalgic feeling cuteness 💖Nyx Filler Instinct Plumping Lip Polish - the stickiest and otherwise very meh
TLDR; My top used are the too faced extreme which I use almost everday as a prep step in makeup. Like using it before I'll choose a lipstick. And the glossier, it's such a basic good pillow-y gloss. They have different purposes for me and are great. But you def can't go wrong w buxom, I'm thinking of picking their gloss in white russian since my mini is used up

In your opinion is colourpop worth the money? I'm looking for a good eyeshadow palette
I have the Colourpop x Sailor Moon palette and I really love it! But that’s my only experience with colourpop stuff.
Anyone else have any thoughts on them?

cannot seem to find good answers for this online so i guess i’ll take it here. i bought 2 colourpop freckle pens online a week or two ago and they arrived today, the packaging was pretty shoddy (like dilapidated cardboard that disintegrated into gray dust in my hands) and when i try out the pens the dark one is like dark-gray-almost-black, not a natural brown color at all, and the lighter one has barely any visible pigment at all (and i’m, like, really pale). i wanted to buy them because i really love my ulta lime crime freckle pens but their tips are really soft and fragile and i kinda ruined them by using them over moisturizer, but these new ones from colourpop are totally dried out and basically just horrible. is there any way to fix them or anything or do i just have to get new ones (obviously i will not be ordering from colourpop again)? thankssss

lollipop, cupcake, and watermelon!
hi!! sorry this took a while to respond 😅
lollipop - favorite makeup products?
I don’t really wear too much makeup (or any at all really), but a good mascara is SO important to me. right now I’ve been using the Bad Gal Bang by Benefit and I love the amount of volume & length is gives me. Mad Lash by the balm cosmetics is another one of my all time faves. I’m obsessed with Halsey’s makeup line, about-face, because I adore them. (not me totally not wearing Halsey merch as we speak). their cheek freak blush in Cowgirl is my fave!! also Urban Decay’s brow pencil & Colourpop’s boss brow gel are my go-to’s for brows!
cupcake - are you a good cook?
the jury is still out on that because I don’t cook as often as I should 😅 I do love cooking and baking though and I have a bunch of recipe books and aprons for when I eventually move out lmao
watermelon - do films ever make you cry?
oh absolutely they do. I’m a crier in general because I have so many emotions in my big ole body. the *teensiest* amount of emotion in a movie will make me cry. I can’t help it 😂

3 Makeup Brands That Lost Their Luster
Images from Colourpop, Urban Decay, Anastasia Beverly Hills Hi friends! This post has been rattling around in my brain for months, and today is as good as any. I want to talk about makeup brands that have lost their luster for me, brands I’ve kind of lost interest in. an introduction: I’ve been doing a lot of reflection and reassessment over the past couple of years. And an intention I have…

New Year, 2024.
website post here.
Happy New Year everyone!
For this upcoming year, I intend on growing what I started last year. I’ve already started the new year with a family trip, to extend the Christmas holidays, and I have intentions of growing my art portfolio. I already have subjects in mind for what I’d like to create and do.
My art is going to be a large focus of this year; I fully intend to continue my education and get my bachelors and maybe even masters, but I also want to be able to jump on growing my footprint in the art world if I’m given that opportunity. I have a grasp on tumblr and it being an area where I can grow my name in art. I’ve been thinking about the thought of selling art prints of my art, and I’ve been looking into that since then. That way, I could have acrylic, watercolor, and my oil paintings available. I am not ignorant to myself, I am very aware that I get attached to paintings, so this way I could still sell my art while keeping the original for myself. I also think that would workout well for larger works, such as Two Sturgeons, which is 24” x 24”, and that would be terrible to mail to a customer. But, if I could downscale that to a 8” x 8”, 12” x 12”, or 16” x 16”, it’s much more manageable to ship. Plus, prints are much cheaper to purchase than originals. I feel like I personally have a disconnect from the “buy art as an investment collectable” area of the art world. I had professors who whined and griped about how prints or smaller works would reduce the price of my name, and mess like that. But honestly, I don’t view it like that. I don’t view art like a stock. I’m too sentimental for that. Art is a lot of things, but it’s not a financial investment in my opinion. So I want to make prints, so that whoever wants them has a more financially accessible way to experience that art. Art takes money. Original art takes a lot of money. But prints take less than originals. Plus, I can still sign them and write any information about the painting on the back of a print. So I’ve been dancing that thought around my head recently.
This recent trip has once again ignited my desire to paint. I feel like most creative avenues take the ebbs and flows of highly creative and impassioned, creating a work, then needing to recharge after completing the work. So I’m in that recharging stage currently. I’ve been dabbling in digital art, but I don’t particularly want that to be my focus. This area always ignites me. It just does. I don’t think I could explain it if I tried. Granted, this trip was not nearly as relaxing as any previous trips have been. I would never claim that. Externally, the water and area has been peaceful. Within the trip, it’s been stressful. Aside from that, I’ve been enjoying the shoals. I love winter. I just do. I know some people aren’t the biggest fans of winter, but I certainly find it to be wonderful. At the same time, though, I love layering my clothes and my fashion of choice is sweaters. So. That tends to lend itself to winter.
The south normally doesn’t have intense winters, but these last few years have been more and more intense it seems. I’ve been having to wear actual winter clothing for once. While we were in the Shoals, it was quite obvious how certain parts of the community were not prepared for 30 degree days. Which is certainly understandable. Personally, I’ve been expanding this area of my wardrobe with nicer pieces from Quince. I’ve been loving their cotton items. I also got one of their cashmere pieces, the cashmere skirt, and it is wonderful in this colder weather. I love it. I think that for the price, with the materials being used, it is a very good purchase.
On the thought of my trip to the Shoals, I feel like it should be noted that I, obviously, had to pack, and I actually used the Glossier “the Makeup Bag” for my makeup. Now, I took the organizational insert out of the bag and used that main area. I brought my Pat McGrath Labs palette, two 9-pan Colourpop palettes, one 12-pan Colourpop palette, six lipglosses, a concealer, a lot of brushes, mascara, highlighter, powder, liquid blush, and an eyelash curler, all in that bag. Plus, I put my little bracelets and hair ties in the outer pocket. And honestly… I really liked it. I really liked how it was packed, I liked how it laid in my luggage, it kept everything intact and sound. I actually dropped my luggage down the stairs and it landed on my arm (oops), the luggage had to sit on top of a collapsed dog kennel, and I opened my luggage a bit aggressively, and through all of that, everything in that bag stayed safe and sound. So I would like to redact my review on the Glossier bag and revise it here; It is a very good bag, however, it is a bit expensive. If you have the money and really want it, then I think you would love it. I think you can find comparable for a lower price, but I don’t think this is a bad bag. I think if you want it you’ll enjoy it.
I really hope to be able to travel more this year. I want to be able to paint more and create more paintings, I want to be able to share more of my travels through that, and I hope that I’ll be able to grow into that. I hope to do more than I did last year, and I hope to grow as I do it. I hope this blog will be able to grow with me, too.

i have a whole list for you anon! almost all drugstore :)
primers: (you can just use your regular moisturizer) but it you want a primer i like the nyx plump right back primer. super moisturizer and not heavy!
foundation: i am not a foundation girl, but i do like skin tints. almost every big brand has some version of a skin tint so i would start there.
concealers: the elf hydrating camo concealer or the maybelline fit me concealer. the elf concealer has more coverage and i prefer the hydrating version just because the matte one i think is too dry, and if you’re just starting it would be harder to work with. also the milani concealer is good too.
powder: expensive, but the laura mercier powder is 100% worth the money. there’s a mini version and it lasts forever and is half the price.
bronzer: nothing crazy, i like the milani matte bronzer. if you want a warmer look you could get a baked bronzer with some shimmer.
blush: nyx has a good one, elf has good liquid ones, and colourpop has a nice cream one.
everyone is different for brows and mascara, but the l’oreal brow lamination gel is the best eyebrow gel on the market. and for mascara i like the maybelline lash sensation :)

I can't tell you how annoyed I am at fucking 20-year-old antifascist types like this.
you find them all over radblr and they are the bane of my goddamn existence. you cannot attempt to stigmatize every single negative opinion someone has just because it concerns the business dealings of fucking companies having their cosmetics produced in China because it's cheaper.
she ranted for a good few minutes about sinophobia and how it's not necessary to mention that something is made in China as if you're trying to insinuate that's why something is low quality (to be honest, the makeup made in France or Italy or the US that I've gotten has had minor issues so the problem isn't where it's made, the problem is the budget or mid range brands are relegating quality control as a thing of secondary importance. although seeing glue outside of the underside of like, a single pan in a palette made in China was :/).
I've never seen so many quality control issues as that coming from ColourPop, tho. The caps of pencils just sliding off, eyeshadows sitting askew in their little palettes for some weird reason, The plastic palettes not closing properly, people's gloves brushing over eyeshadows sometimes and leaving little marks that I never see in the pics temptalia shares, etc,. etc.
everything ColourPop sells is made in the US and they have all these issues.
that said, everything the brand who reposted this video sells looks like gimmick central. they have weird putty looking pots of lip and eye products they call mud which looks inconvenient, and any brand that is small or that is not owned by L'Oreal or any of those huge companies is at much higher risk of having contaminants and sketchy ingredients in their products than something like Revlon or Mac. basically all this stuff is 'use at your own risk'.

joey jordison in 2000.
october - what month were you born in?
july. my birthday is on the 26th. you should send me a gift <3

i don't have anything against it, but i don't exactly care for it.
poppy - favorite pastel color?
green. shades like this:
dimples - most attractive features of a person’s face?
eyes are the obvious choice, but an interesting nose shape, long lashes, or unique scarring/coloration is captivating me lately.

i like almonds, and i like chocolate, and i like dried fruits. so trail mix is the obvious choice, but i don't actually eat it all that much.

a few, yeah. the one i use the most isn't physical, though.
cupcake - are you a good cook?
i'm an alright cook. the food i make is better than edible, but i wouldn't say i go out of my way to learn complex or new recipes. i can take care of myself and my housemates don't get sick of my cooking. i've never gotten any complaints.

i used to have a more extensive one, but i find simplicity is really king. now that its as desperately hot as it is, it's really cut down to just washing my face with antibacterial soap (yes u heard that right). i use a cerave moisturizer (not the kind in the bottle, the kind in the jar).

yes. kisses are gross, i've found.
nightlight - do you read before bed?
no, but i tried at some point to see if it'd help the insomnia. not really, no difference, i've found.
shampoo - favorite scent?
i'm a fragrance slut, so this question is the best way to get me to prattle on for a while. i love the smell of white florals such as lillies, jasmine, frangipani, meadowsweet, and honeysuckle. when it comes to rose, i prefer a rose oil smell over the flower itself, but its still nice on the whole. i enjoy herbals and incenses like clove, patchouli, myrrh, and frankincense. i recently got a perfume that smells like nag champa and flowering cannabis, and its much nicer than it sounds. i love leather smells, gasoline, motor oil, and industrial plastic scents. but most of all i love earthy and green scents, such as concrete, stone, dirt, and petrichor. a good overturned soil scent literally makes my mouth water.
my favorite perfumes are chanel no 5, moss maiden by alkemia, saint louis cemetery no 1 by alkemia, flora gardenia by gucci, and gold rush by paris hilton (the odd one out). among many many more.

sanrio. i love keroppi and deery lou.
cream - frozen yogurt flavor?
i don't have a good relationship with froyo. we're not on speaking terms. once during a vacation, all the quick service venues were closed except for a froyo place, so it's all i ate for two days straight.
watermelon - do films ever make you cry?
yes, almost every time.
sapphos - favorite poet?
ocean vuong.
plush - how many stuffed animals do you still own?
too many to count.
