if you reeeeeally think about it, leon wasn't a cop. like. he didn't even start his first day on the job. he was too busy trying to not die.
i mean, sure, he did the training and all that, but did he even get to work at his desk??? did he even put on the uniform??? i didn't think so.

okay after DNFing Winter's Orbit and going through like a daylong "I just don't want to read anything" crisis, I'm going to start The Copper Crown tonight. I've seen it described as "the fae in space" and that sounds like the kind of weirdness that might make my brain happy right now.

still bugged by the fact that in aoc hyrule knew the calamity would happen on zelda’s birthday and would hit the castle and neither evacuated the town/castle or had zelda journey to mount lanayru and so she could make her final attempt at unlocking her powers before the calamity struck
like imagine travelling back in time to warn people that the world is going to end on a specific day and the night before a meteor hits they’re making plans for brunch at the site of impact

I'm sure OP means well but this post is very misleading.
It's not that the FEDERAL government is doing nothing about it as they've recently approved a package of 50 Billion BRL of aid destined towards the state and - unlike reports which DIRECTLY ACCUSE THE GOVERNMENT OF LYING, something that had previously never been said about the bolsonaro administration even when they were actually fucking lying - accepted aid from Uruguay. The only aid that was refused were planes which currently have nowhere to land due to the widespread flooding the state is facing. The part of the government that has done, precisely, fuck all is in fact both the municipal government and the state government - led respectively by Sebastião Melo and Eduardo Leite. Both of whom are from right wing parties. The mayor of Porto Alegre has done incredibly irresponsible things such as not warning people that pumps that were helping contain the flood were being shut off due to risk of explosion. And the governor of the state had previously approved a budget of only 50 thousand BRL (a little UNDER 10k USD for a state with a population of 11 million) for disaster prevention. Not to mention the fact that something that has worsened the flooding immensely was the reduction of federally (environmental )protected areas close to the margin of lake Guaíba, and the expansion of building area since around 1970 both commercial and residential closer and closer to the water. With obviously catastrophic results.
The people who made this tragedy happen have names and faces and as is tradition in Brazil instead of recognizing them as guilty we turn to point the finger at the worker's party and Lula.
Anyway please, if you can spare it, donate to Rio Grande do Sul, and vote for politicians who will actually fund disaster prevention and the tools to deal with it wherever you do live.

God all you people ranting about how sabo is the responsible brother don’t know the truth.
(finally decided to post my sabo rant lol)
Look at him. LOOK AT HIM.
Tumblr media
This man ran away from high class society and rejected the government at age five. His dumb ass decided to befriend ace, who at the time was the equivalent of a feral gremlin child who beat up people in bars (rightfully so). He suggested that they kill luffy.
And then, oh then he was like fuck this and ran off and (died) joined the revolutionary.
AND YOU KNOW WHAT HE DID THERE. BEAT UP MORE PEOPLE. SAID FUCK YOU TO THE GOVERNMENT. PROBABLY BURNED DOWN A FEW CORRUPT COUNTRIES. CRIED A BIT.
Ace? The one you say is the irresponsible brother? He stayed AT HOME. And raised LUFFY. Learned MANNERS. Became a captain. Which means he raised a child who decided stabbing himself was a good idea and made sure he reached adulthood, tried to better himself to thank someone for saving his brother’s life, learned to be responsible for others, after taking care of Luffy, made his crew survive into the new world and sacrificed himself so his crew would get away.
AND THEN. He became a white beard! Lead an entire division! We see him asking for permission from Whitebeard to go after teach, or at the very least telling him what he was doing! A good boy! Trusts in his brothers! Cares for them!! Makes sure his brothers crew is okay for him!! Saves his brother!!
RESPONSIBLE!
NOW BACK TO SABO.
NOW LOOK AT HIM.
Tumblr media
THIS MAN MAKES HIS CAREER RUINING NOBLES CAREERS. HE REGULARLY IGNORES MEETINGS TO SAY HI TO LUFFY, DOESN’T TELL ANYONE. LOVES HIS BROTHER BUT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE. TOO MUCH GUILT. IF LUFFY ASKED HIM TO TAKE DOWN AN ENTIRE CITY HED BE LIKE FUCK YEA. ACE WOULD TOO BUT HED BE MORE CAREFUL. SABO? NEEDS SUPERVISION. ABSOLUTELY BATSHIT. IS ABSOLUTELY FERAL. WILL BURN DOWN EVERYTHING. ANARCHY IS IS GOAL.
Ace was also kind enough to let us know when he died sabos just a mystery which means he’s irresponsible as fuck.
does shit like this and doesn’t follow up. :/
Tumblr media
In conclusion;
ace is the most responsible brother of ASL, learned from older sibling energy and learning to raise luffy and protect his crew as captain. Sabo is a dumbass and absolutely not responsible, based on fucking off on his job which is based on saying fuck you to authority. Will burn down anything without question, regret consequences later. (In aces case, he will think about the consequences first, regret them, burn anything anyway.) Luffy is responsible for 9 people and the downfall of several government institutions. Luffy is not responsible. Sabo is not responsible. Ace is the most responsible. If you must write them (highly encouraged, you all are very talented) please take this into consideration. Thank you.
PS. This by no means means that any of the asl boys should be trusted with authority. They are in canon, and it is a disaster. the world is crumbling at their feet. I love them.

In the absence of a clear and obvious angle to attack Bushnell’s protest, most likely due to his status as a serviceman that would make outright insulting him or suppressing the news itself scandalous, discussions on Western shores have now taken on the familiar framing of mental illness. In Time Magazine’s write-up of Bushnell’s death, the article finishes with a link to the suicide hotline, and asks readers to contact mental health providers if they are experiencing a “crisis.” Mark Joseph Stern, a writer at Slate, seemingly unasked, also wrote on Twitter/X:
“I strongly oppose valorizing any form of suicide as a noble, principled, or legitimate form of political protest. People suffering mental illness deserve empathy and respect, but it is wildly irresponsible to praise them for using a political justification to take their own life.”
Conviction does not exist to the American. To be willing to die in a selfless act for what they believe in only exists for those outside America's sphere of influence. Many will recall reporting on those who self-immolated in protest in Iran and in Russia for instance where this sort of approach, unwilling to engage with the root of its cause, would not even be entertained, let alone written and published with sincerity. The Arab Spring began with a self-immolation. The self-immolation of Buddhist monks in protest of South Vietnam’s persecution became defining images of the war and its corruption. Within America’s walls however, there is a belief, unspoken and ingrained from birth, that democracy allows for everyone’s voices to be heard and that its representatives are inherently inclined to respond to the people and their widespread wishes.
Desperation at inaction or complicity in terror and atrocity need not apply. Everyone incensed by their government to such an extent must simply have something wrong with them. To be able to go about one’s day knowing that children are screaming from the hunger that is eating their insides and that pregnant women are eating bread made from animal feed, and that the United States is supporting Israel’s creation of this famine, is apparently the real sign of well-adjustment.
