got all the supplies to make my iron farm ready in the ground floor of my house. I went a few hundred blocks away to another village to install it, turned out pretty good even if its not that efficient its nice to know that I can get an extra bucket or hopper without too much work.

i definitely think minecraft won't be the game for everyone in the end and that's just how things are no problem but i do think *some* people who don't get the hype of it just need to play with their friends and build a house with them. its also for doing things like this.

Death Run - Going Solo 3 (03)

I'm moving into the ancient city. I'm packing up my villagers and setting up a few useful farms including veggies and an iron farm.

On top of that I need to expand my farms to include a melon and pumpkin farm. That means I need to make trip into the nether to get quartz and a few other fun things…. It doesn't go well.

(For context, I’m playing a mod called Ad Astra, and I recently restarted to play with a friend. And wow t this mod needs lots of iron.)

i think the sacrificial lamb take on evbo is nice and very cool to play with but might i offer my cent?

evbo is a calf.

there is something inherently holy about the sacrifice of a lamb. it is innocent and pure and you give up its life in worship. there is nothing holy about what the iron swords do to evbo. they open the door, they torture him, they slaughter him. they farm him. cattle are farm animals.

some calves are born to be killed for veal. there are multiple different ways veal calves are raised, with a range in ages at which they are slaughtered for their meat. one process for raising veal calves, which is particularly inhumane (and really quite disgusts me), involves placing the calf in a small pen and feeding it barely sustainable food until it reaches around eighteen weeks old. they are then killed for veal.

there is no worship when it comes to slaughtering the trembling calf staring down the barrel of your gun. you simply watch as it falls limp to the ground, blood pooling beneath its body, before you drag it off to be turned into the meat that sits on your plate.

why would you ever worship the creature that only ever lived to die?

Iron Age Seeds from Southern Britain

These 2300 year old Iron Age seeds were only preserved because they were partly burnt or charred. The bacteria that cause decay could not feed upon the burnt seeds. They tell us what crops were grown in Britain during the later Iron Age. They include cultivated wheat, six rowed barley, oats and broad beans.

The further I get into season 2, the more it becomes apparent to me that Mikazuki has some self-worth issues.

Insane ramblings and heavy spoilers for IBO under the cut, be warned.

He seems like the type of person who’s self-worth is defined by how useful he feels to those he cares about. His dream is to become a farmer, but despite his repeated attempts, his crops mostly just wither and die. He tries to educate himself, but he struggles more with reading and writing than other other kids. And when people point out how he’s improved, he downplays his progress. It feels like he’s kinda given up on his dream of becoming a farmer and being anything other than Tekkadan’s (Orga’s) strongest soldier.

Mika still wants to become a farmer, but he doesn’t seem to think that it’s truly feasible for him. So he leans harder into what he’s already good at: fighting. This adds an interesting element to his relationship with Kudelia. As her life’s goal is to create a world where children aren’t exploited for conflict and wars are prevented. Mika doesn’t know how he’s supposed to exist in Kudelia’s world, cause he is a direct product of the current world, where wars happen and children are raised to fight them. In Kudelia’s world, people like Mikazuki don’t exist, which leaves him in an awkward spot—at least from his pessimistic perspective.

So all of this just leads him back to Orga. His relationship with Orga is wrought with some serious codependency issues, but it’s where he feels the most useful, as he’s been Orga’s muscle for as long as they’ve known each other. Orga’s always ending up in a fight with someone too big for him and Mika’s always gonna take that person down regardless of the consequences to himself. This is their cycle and eventually it’s gonna hurt Mika in a way that will make his dream harder to achieve. But like I said, it’s where he’s the most useful and he considers himself a lost cause anyway.

I just think it’s…sad how everyone, including Orga, seems to have more faith in Mikazuki’s dream than he does.

hmm…. does it count if i actually really liked how vintagebeef’s house looked when they made it all red and covered in poppies LOL. also a big fan of what iskall did with the monolith, that was kind of the only way to save that thing.

It’s not complete yet but I also really like the concept behind Skizz’s pyramid too
