It comes down to this: Iro's a super affectionate man, but despite the crush Iro has on Vir, he is still intimidated by her. As much as he'd like to, say, kiss the back of her hand, he would not until he was beyond absolutely sure it was okay to do so. Sure, he could just ask, but no one ever said Iro was a bright one.

As for shared baths, Iro would like to -- but as before, he'd need consent beyond practical means to even suggest it. Iro's respect for Vir is neck-and-neck with his feelings of intimidation.

Something tells me Vir would have to trust Iro quite a bit to let him take her somewhere for a picnic; regardless, a quiet rockside copse in La Noscea, flavored by the sea air and accompanied by the sound of the tide, where Iro brings wine and some morsels he's baked with dried and smoked Hingan meats strikes me as a perfect date for these two. Similarly, the image of them at a cafe, chatting over coffee on a rainy day is equally appealing. If Vir enjoys the beach, Iro would be delighted to take her there!

The lack of restaurants and bars (and to a lesser degree, clubs) comes from the fact that Iro is, ICly, still seeking stable employment.

Sarangerel & Nandin Shulam

Nandin was Sarangerel’s teacher when she was young. Sarangerel had the fundamental knowledge of counting, where the sun rose, which was East, West, South, North... But Nandin would take time to instill greater knowledge in the girl she perhaps felt sorry for but would grow to love like a sister. Due to Nandin’s teachings, Sarangerel has the basic ability to fix herself up if injured in the field. 

Which leads into... The Take-Care-of-Me kit. Sarangerel would be missing from Shulam camp for days, sometimes a week, at a time to hunt and attempt to prove herself. Nandin, logically, would worry about the small, frail girl. As such, one day, she created a small package of medical supplies and dried foods for Sarangerel to carry with her, that she would replenish when the girl returned to camp. Sarangerel came to call it the Take-Care-of-Me kit in her mind. She accidentally voiced it one day to Nandin and was horribly embarrassed. 

Sarangerel would lead Nandin to peaceful places in the woods. When the tribe still believed Nandin to be the chosen of Tsenkher, Sarangerel could almost feel the waves of tension coming off of Nandin at some points. The role of a spiritual figure was, undoubtedly, puzzling and troubling for a young woman. Come nights of fuller moons, Sarangerel would quietly take Nandin by the hand and take her to clearings up in mountain copses where they could simply be quiet together, and find peace in the night.

Sarangerel hired five different spies to discover Nandin’s whereabouts. As a successful adventurer and headhunter before joining Arcane Circle, Sarangerel possessed a great amount of gil, to which she only dedicated to feeding herself, repairing her gear, and finding her heartsister. The only spy that continued to take her seriously -- out of fondness for the child, as though she were his own granddaughter -- was an aged Duskwight named Mallaire. He is the only spy -- now retainer -- that is still in her employ. The others were immediately discharged the instant Nandin was found.

Nandin wants Sarangerel to like Iro and T’odd, but knows she can’t change her heartsister’s opinion. Sarangerel’s unabashed hatred of the two important men in Nandin’s life undoubtedly is stressful for her. However, the stubborn girl’s heart likely cannot be budged. 

Iro Kazanagi & Nandin Shulam

Iro often feels like he’s walking on eggshells around Nandin. This is, however, not because he’s afraid of her or scared of her; no, he simply desires deeply to impress her, and feels slightly inadequate in comparison to all the people of culture that his girlfriend knows.

After their first date on the Salt Strand, Iro is always keeping his eye out for someplace new and beautiful to take her. Even though he is aware Nandin can’t see very well, something inside him tells him that she would appreciate the chance to be taken somewhere beyond where she normally does business. Perhaps he has an inkling that the woman is aethersensitive; or perhaps he just has a sentimental heart. 

Nandin has been given three gifts from Iro thus far: dried orange roses from the first night he had performed and met her; a small scroll inside a tiny glass bottle, on which is written the Hingan script for “my moonbeam”; and a book that neither of them can read, simply because it is composed of raised bumps and brief Hingan translations of what the bumps mean. Lord Kazanagi is responsible for the last gift. 

If the two attend musical events at bars or anything similar, it is not long before they take to the dancefloor. Iro’s love for movement and Nandin’s adoration for dancing make them a well-matched pair. The two simply twirl the night away and are often taken aback when they’re gently informed that the bar has since closed and the staff would like to go home.

Iro is secretly self-conscious that Nandin would not like him as much if she could see him more clearly. Between his mismatched fangs, scarred scales, broken knuckles, and damaged horns, he frets often about his own appearance, fearing himself to appear too scary to be the sort of man he is. However, when Nandin takes his hand and gives him the soft smile she is oh so capable of... Those fears melt away.

Hello! My name is Mordy (popularly known as T’odd), and I’m seeking an entertainment-based FC on Balmung that is accepting new members for this handsome fellow here as I level and develop him! Ideally, a troupe of entertainers that are Doman in origin would be preferred, but any gathering of talented and talent-based RPers is welcome!

appearance -- 

Hair: Dirty blonde; primarily a flaxen gold, yet shot through with darker streaks of auburn. Though more often than not brushed and braided back, it can be prone to fluff up and frizz out, particularly in humid climates. Such conditions do not make for a happy Iro.  Eyes: A pale, glittering gold, framed by black limbal rings and black sclera. Height: 208cm (6′10″) Build: Iro bares a remarkably strong upper body, stemming from tight core muscles to his broad, powerful shoulders. The muscle extends through his arms to the base of his wrist and through his back. The palms of his hands are rough and calloused. His knuckles are in no better condition in regards to wear-and-tear, and his fingers are crooked and misaligned, suggesting previous breakages. Iro’s legs and feet much mimic his arms and hands in terms of musculature and wear. Distinguishing marks: Horns: Iro’s horns are marred with hairline cracks and fissures, like a broken and repeatedly repaired vase. Face: Iro is wont to paint his face. He often chooses small shapes, such as circles or stars, but will occasionally branch into more complicated designs such as various flowers. Common accessories: More often than not, Iro will have tapes around his hands, and be wearing some form of sandals, if not remaining barefoot.

Profession: Currently, Iro works as a freelance entertainer, but tends to jump between troupes or work odd jobs to make ends meet. He is an informally taught acrobat, with extended talents of firewalking, firebreathing, and sword-swallowing. He seeks to extend the manners of which he can perform, and bring smiles to the faces of more and more people. Iro formerly worked as a servant to House Kazanagi in Hingashi, where he would perform household chores, prepare food, and care for Lord Kazanagi’s elderly mother and his children. He will still take on jobs for Lord Kazanagi in order to make ends meet. Hobbies: When not performing or working, Iro enjoys painting, swimming, and watching wildlife -- particularly birds, which he has a strong fondness towards. Languages: Common tongue and Hingan dialects. Residence: Iro is currently paying rent to Lord Kazanagi in order to live in a small home on his property. Eyes of the lightest violet peer upwards from his hands, in which a small wooden figured rests amongst calloused fingers of one hand as the other holds a blade to it. For such a small, rough carving, the tiny moogle that the Viera was crafting was exceptionally round; it was almost as though Gillian had taken extra care to capture its form as accurately as possible.

“... Not in... Those exact words, no,” He began slowly, his gaze returning to his whittling, “Pain doesn’t scare me. Darkness don’t scare me neither. Shit’s all a part of life, y’anno? Ain’t like I can avoid it. So no, death doesn’t scare me.” There’s a distinct sound to his words, like a sudden dropoff.

The only sound is the soft scratching of his carving for a couple moments before the man sighs, his broad shoulders dropping slightly. “... But...” His voice wavers momentarily.

“... Leaving Moghrá does.”

Iro’s mouth is agape as he’s asked such a question, and though the man tries desperately -- desperately, as in with obvious physical effort in the form of a twitching face -- to draw a smile back to his lips, he cannot. The color in his face had drained, bringing forward a contrast to the orange paint that made him almost seem ghastly. 

“ begging -- > “The blood seems to be draining from Iro’s face by the second. Iro, tall and beaming like a lighthouse at any other time, seems small, terrified -- like a child hiding from the monsters in his closet. Had he been able to draw his knees to his chest, he would have.

The man’s words break off. A distant look appears in gold eyes now glassy, and not another word can be had from him.
