To make a long story short; There are two Jays pre-merge (ooc: but the superstar one allows Dragons Rising blogs to interact, though they'll stay in character with pre-merge Jay. Not sure about the other one...), An adult pre-merge Wu and a teen Wu, Two adult Lloyds and a child Lloyd, and you obviously know about the Zanes.
We think all the time traveling and wonky time/dimension stuff is Acronix's fault, cause he's tech-y and most of them got here by tech. Jay's invention blew up in his face, Zane had just defeated the Digital Overlord, and Teen Wu came out of Nya's phone.
oookk, so a total of 2 jays, 2 Wus, 3 Lloyds, 2 Zanes all because of Acronix’s time meddling?
maybe you should take away @acronix-irl powers… and he has a twin brother?!

a Last of Us x Lasso masterlist
this is @jomiddlemarch's list.  i’m the annoying friend who will create a masterlist of a fanfic series you’ve written for The Last of Us (TV) and Ted Lasso.  sorry not sorry.  however, i will genuinely apologize for the amateur-hour board i assembled.
Tumblr media
@jomiddlemarch has written for multiple fandoms - she has 800+ works on AO3. she writes great fics as quickly as i make myself coffee every morning.  like how and what the fuck.  (yes I'm also the roy kent of every friend group).  she’s fucking brilliant and I felt compelled to catalog.
this loose fit crossover series reads a bit better on her AO3.
summary: angsty slow-burn romance between Joel Miller and Grace Yang (OFC), Jackson’s town physician.  Ted Lasso AU crossover with Ted and Beard.  Ellie, Maria, Tommy are here.  In this house we love Tess.  Other original characters include Lauren (Grace’s friend) and Kian (Grace’s partner while she was at the Seattle QZ).  Set between seasons 1 and 2.  Ted bakes, Beard philosophizes.  Joel and Grace mostly banter and occasionally get down and dirty.  Ellie is Ellie.
main pairing: Joel Miller x Grace (OFC)
ratings: mostly teen or mature (3 fics are slightly explicit)
warnings/notes: grief, mourning, trauma, sexual tension, post-apocalyptic domestic life, medical stuff, mentions of food, references to music and books, oral sex and rough sex (slightly explicit), fluff, coffee shop AU (i know, but trust me it works), airport AU, one fic alludes to miscarriage, profanity
loose (head)canon for the OFC: Grace is stubborn, weary, does no harm but takes no shit.  Firefly-adjacent during her time in the Seattle QZ.  She’d finished her medical training at the time of the outbreak, so she’d be in her 40s in Wyoming.  (I initially chose Constance Wu as a visual stand-in cause she has a great resting bitch face, IRL she hails from Virginia, and I thought that Southern connection would be nice for Texan Joel Miller but out of chaos changed my mind and opted for Canadian actress Grace Park as a face-claim - same name a coincidence - since she’s older, about the same age as Pedro, and who among us didn’t love her in Battlestar Galactica?  So say we all)
word counts: range from 1.5K-3K
links to the vignettes/chapters below the cut - some of the AO3 stories are accessible if you’re a registered user.  these do not need to be read in order.
my happiness depends on you - AO3 -  Grace and Joel search for supplies
that might as well be the first sign of the apocalypse - AO3 Tumblr - intro to Ted and Beard in the Jackson universe
your voice is soft like summer rain - AO3 - postcoital angst
y’all know it tastes like garbage? - AO3 - Tumblr - @jomiddlemarch hits it out of the park with Ted’s voice in this fic - all the fucking kudos for this one
good French cooking cannot be produced by a zombie cook - AO3 - Tumblr - Ellie cooks for Joel and Grace, chaos ensues
but I could never love again - AO3 - Joel and Grace in a bathtub
I walk the line - AO3 - Tumblr - Joel and Grace in the wilderness
you turned my whole world upside down - AO3 - Tumblr - Joel, Grace, and Ellie banter over beverages
what I like to call making muffins of us - AO3 - Tumblr - the coffee shop AU in which Tess conspires with Grace
turn and face the strange changes - AO3 - Tumblr - Beard speaks, and a fun and respectful nod to a brilliant fic by @laiqualaurelote
kindness and lies are worth a thousand truths - AO3 - Tumblr - Grace fixes Joel’s dislocated shoulder.  They miss Ted and Beard’s trivia night.
where might I be, if I were not here? - AO3 - Tumblr - Joel takes care of Grace, hurt/comfort with a side of oh-wait-the-one-bed trope
because you saw me when I was invisible - AO3 - Tumblr - no outbreak hospital AU, Joel and Grace fake-date
it is love, not reason, that is stronger than death - AO3 - Tumblr - tfw fucking is a coping mechanism for grief (smut)
but ah, united, what reverse we have! - AO3 - Tumblr - fluff and grumpiness - Joel, Grace, Beard, and Ted play charades
and there’s no way back to where we’ve been - AO3 - Tumblr - airport AU - pre and post outbreak.  Did Joel and Grace run into one another during another lifetime?
only true things even when she wasn’t quite sure what was true - AO3 - Tumblr - oral sex (get it, Grace) (smut)
on the cold earth under the cold sky - AO3 - Tumblr - illness and sadness.  Joel is a kind partner.  Quick mention of Sarah’s mom.
time, doing this to me, may alter too - AO3- Tumblr - when two middle aged folks engage in shower sex - tw: low back pain (smut)
there are shadows because there are hills - AO3 - Tumblr - bittersweet angst, probably the most authentic and cathartic read you’ll have on this hellsite about these heavy topics (miscarriage, life shit).  Ellie asks Grace questions.  Grace doesn’t tell Joel.
but simply an irrevocable condition - AO3 - Tumblr - domestic lowkeyness with the whole gang: Joel, Grace, Ellie, Tommy, Maria, Ted, Beard
they do become more real - AO3 - Joel as a dad.  Comforting Ellie, referencing Sarah's mom.

Looking at the gifset of ellie chu’s clothing...we all know the reason she was wearing “nerdy” or baggy clothing to cover up how toned and fit leah lewis really is. we all wouldn’t have been prepared for that version of ellie chu
leah lewis has the body of a warrior and i personally would have had more gay panics than ellie chu if her outfits showed how toned she was

What hobbies does sensei g have?
- besides being a dilf, he likes to meditate! meditation is a big one for him, and he tries to do it at least twice a day.
- he likes to garden! homie’s got a ton of flowers near the monastery, and misako and him will go out and tend to them :D
- he likes to bake as well! you wouldn’t expect it, but mans can bake sweet goods very well. when it’s his turn to cook, everybody gets excited specifically for dessert. he doesn’t do it as often anymore, but he tries to once in awhile!
- this is one from his childhood, but he loves to climb trees. homie is like a monkey when it comes to that shit. he used to hide in trees a lot as a teen whenever he and wu would play games. sometimes lloyd will walk outside and be like “where’s my dad?” and wu just goes “have you checked the trees?”
- obviously, martial arts. he and wu will try and spar at least twice a week, to keep themselves both on their toes.
- he likes to read! he’s got a ton of books in his monastery. is he the type of person to start a new book when he gets bored of one he hasn’t even finished? absolutely. it drives misako insane.
that’s all for now! gonna put this little section under “continue reading”, as it’s a little update on my life and this blog.
hey everybody! thank you so much for baring with me while i was on my hiatus. it’s not 100% over, but like i said, college and work have me stressing me out a ton. i am currently in one of the worst mental states i have ever been in. i am actively working on getting better, and i am trying my best to get through everything. thankfully i have some amazing irl friends who have been supporting me through this. i love y’all a ton, and i promise i’ll try and be a little more active! once this semester is over, that’s probably when my content will resume normally. (at least, until the next semester starts). mwah mwah <3

I'm just gonna go on a lil rant so... this is literally just about some of my opinions
So ngl, there are two things I kinda hate about how 'locals' perceive Kyoshi:
1) How they see her as basically the 'Heartless Avatar' when a simple google search AND (even better) the books themselves will show you that she's the complete opposite. This may just be bc I'm once again becoming too attached, and would literally die for, a fictional character. But still, within the 1st few chapters of ROK you can tell she's literally just a shy bi teen with low self esteem who has a big fat crush on her future gf Rangi. Yes, she was definitely older when Chin happened but I doubt she'd suddenly become heartless when you see how she acts when she's the Avatar in the books anyway (who was around 16-17 in them I think)
2) This is more recent, but after seeing the ig comments on a rangshi art, and comments by irls, I'm annoyed at the 'debate' surrounding her skin tone. People saying that it's "weird" to think/see that Kyoshi has a darker skin complexion just rubs me the wrong way. It shouldn't be weird to see ANY character with a darker skin complexion in general. But I do hope that the reason why they thought it was "weird" was bc they're used to the image of Kyoshi with her white face paint on. But even then, the fact that she's from the Earth Kingdom, that she was abandoned and had to live out on the streets at a young age AND that she was a maid who would be exposed to the sun fairly regularly makes it easy to assume that she has a darker skin complexion. ESPECIALLY bc of characters such as Wu and Opal in LOK who are from the Earth Kingdom themselves. So yeah, even if/when we get official Kyoshi art without her makeup on, just let artists draw her however they like bc there's no harm in making any character's skin darker even if it doesn't fit your vision of her :)

Three days ago, I decided to start watching one of the Chinese dramas that had been sitting on my Netflix to-watch list for as long as I use it: 'A Love So Beautiful'.
I was (am) really excited over the Korean version because the FL is So Joo Yeon, whom I love since I watched 'Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2' last year―she's adorable!
However, I knew that the Korean version was a remake, so I figured I should start with the Chinese one first. Besides, a few years ago one of my ex-friends told me I should watch it, and she has a pretty good taste in dramas... So, well―I succumbed. And, oh my! I'm so glad I did!
· · ·
'A Love So Beautiful' is a coming of age drama, which depicts the lives of five friends as from the moment they meet in high school up to adulthood, and how they learn about love, friendship and life in general. It especially revolves around Chen Xiaoxi (Shen Yue, from 'Meteor Garden') and Jiang Chen (Hu Yi Tian, from 'Unrequited Love').
· · ·
♡ PLOT & EPISODES:
It is a really light-hearted drama, and its plot is uncomplicated. It is ideal for when you are in the mood for something that doesn't have twists and turns, and/or whose plot doesn't require a great effort to follow. If you feel like watching a drama like that, then I really recommend you to start this one.
Although it's made up of 23 episodes (and one special episode), they are approximately 40-minutes long each. Therefore, I didn't feel that they were tiresome to watch. Also, as a person who gets distracted quite easily ―I have the attention span of a goldfish―, I must emphasise that I didnt pause it at all―except, maybe, to go and grab some snacks... And to post that screenshot with a reference to Argentina, lol.
· · ·
♡ CHARACTERS:
Xiaoxi (FL): This character is a well-known one in dramaland―the typical female lead who is really (and when I say really, I mean extremely, blindly) in love with the male lead, no matter his actions or the words that leave his mouth.
I normally find this type of character annoying (yes, I'm looking at you, Nao). I find it painful to watch that she keeps resiliently following the male lead, even when he is continuously humilliating her. Of course, if you keep in mind that she is a teenager, then you may be able to understand the way she behaves―we were all a little bit like that during our younger years... Or, at least, I know I was. However, that's hard to remember when the story depicts her to be neither a teenager nor an adult, although she is supposed to be the former. By this I don't mean that teenagers can't go through situations that may force them to 'grow up' quickly, but stuff like 'living alone with my classmate' is not a normal situation for a teen (especially, with their parents consent ¿¿¿¿¿)―that's more adult-ish.
Anyways, back to Xiaoxi.
When I think about my younger self, I think she might ―in some points― relate to Xiaoxi. Why? That's simple―because she truly acts like a teenager. For her, the problems she faces are like the end of the world, and deals with them as (most) young people would.
Amongst those problems, love is obviously included. She's devoted to the love she feels, and doesn't waver. She's always true to her feelings and to her heart―sometimes, a little too much for my liking. However, her genuiness and stubborness are two of the traits I liked the most about her.
But Xiaoxi is not entirely naïve―not all the time, at least. She stood her ground in some parts of the story, as a teenager and, mostly, as an adult. I must admit that one kick was amazing―I was lying in bed and I literally had to sit up and scream 'APLICADÍSIMA' (an Argentinian slang that, in this context, could be translated as 'nicely done').
▫ ▫ ▫
Jiang Chen (ML): Yet another typical character in dramas. He's one of those guys who barely speaks, looks serious 24/7 and, the most important thing, has feelings but is unable to show them most of the time.
I'm not going to deny that people like that do exist in real life (now that I think about it, I may be like that irl, lol), but the real problem is how they are portrayed in dramas. I mean, the fact that a person gathers all those characteristics within them does not equal to being an a*shole (again, I'm so looking at you, Uehara).
Jian Chen sometimes acts like an a*shole, I'm not going to deny that. He mostly acts like that out of jealousy, which doesn't make it right. However, he's continuously growing out of that behaviour (maybe not so much out of jealousy 🙃), and that's what I liked about this character. Even if his character doesn't entirely lose his true essence (being serious is not a bad trait per se, just to name something), it was refreshing to see that, when he's with her, he wouldn't act like he doesn't care about her at all.
▫ ▫ ▫
Wu Bosong (SML): Oh, dear. He's the sweetest. For real.
I'm not the kind of person who usually falls for the second male lead (for example, in Heirs I was always team Kim Tan, although everyone loved Young Do and shipped Eun Sang with him). However, this time, I found myself falling for Bosong really, really hard.
His character is yet another cliché―the sweet boy who's always helping the FL and has to be content with watching her from the sidelines. However, his kind and tender nature slowly captured my heart.
*spoiler alert* It broke my soul that the story was unfair to him―he deserved way better. Not only romantically speaking―all the scenes where his grandma doesn't recognise him were so, so heartbreaking. I know life isn't fair, but it is a drama! Don't make the poor boy suffer that much 😭.
However, even though I loved this character a lot, I ―by no means― shipped him and Xiaoxi. He deserved someone who would give him their entire heart―and, let's face it, Xiaoxi would never grow out of her love for Jian Chen. *end of spoiler alert*
· · ·
♡ FRIENDSHIP:
As far as I'm concerned, most people are only interested in the romantic side of dramas ―which is fine, of course―, but I'm adding this item because it was seriously one of the things I enjoyed the most about this drama.
The chemistry between the five of them is awesome. Sometimes, it's not just about how nicely the leads are to each other―I think that portraying a great friendship is equally important. After all, life is not just about romantic love―it's about all the other kinds of love, as well.
It was sweet that they not only grew up together, but also that they stayed friends even if they had other things going on in their lives. They were unconditional to each other, but that didn't just stayed in high school―it followed them to their adult lives. They still tried to find the time to meet, even if they were busy (*spoiler alert* Xiaoxi's fansigning! *end of spoiler alert*), and supported and had each other's back no matter what.
I liked how friendship was one of the main topics in the drama.
· · ·
♡ SUMMARY:
If you're looking for a cute and light coming-of-age drama (and you don't mind a school drama―i.e., dealing with the fact that they are teenagers during most of it), then A Love So Beautiful is the one for you.
Also, if you haven't ever seen a Chinese drama (and you're up to a drama with the characteristics abovementioned), then I recommend you start with this one. It's not boring, chapters are relatively short (40-minutes-long episodes are considerably shorter than Korean drama's one-hour ones).
The acting was great (again, bear in mind that the characters are teenagers!), the chemistry between the leads was good, and, if you're like me, you'll enjoy the chemistry between the entire group (*spoiler alert* although Bosong and Jian Cheng are ready to throw hands at each other like 99% of the time *end of spoiler alert*).
If you have some time, I highly recommend you to watch it!
I'm leaving the trailer here, if you want to check it out:
youtube
A Love So Beautiful is available on NETFLIX, VIKI and YOUTUBE!
· · ·
I hope you liked this 'review'. I wanted to write one since I finished the drama, but I have been busy studying for my finals.
Sending lots of love during these weird times ♡

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Review (Spoiler-Free)
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous review contains no spoilers.
My five year old nestled under one arm. My ten year old clutched the other. And I’ll admit, my hands were covering my face a couple of times. That, in a nutshell, was the family experience of watching the first season of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
If you’re familiar with the legacy of Jurassic Park, you know the premise: there’s a theme park full of genetically engineered dinosaurs (where some catastrophe always happens). Based on the events of the first season, the series takes place concurrent to the events in Jurassic World, in which a monstrous original dinosaur engineered by Dr. Henry Wu, the Indominus Rex, escapes to terrorize the park.
The series opens with Darius, who had dreamed of visiting Jurassic World with his father for years before his father’s (implied) death. He wins a free trip to what is essentially the beta-test of Camp Cretaceous, the park’s first camp for teens. Other campers include social media influencer Brooklyn, rich-kid Kenji, ranch cowgirl Sammy, athlete Yaz, and overly hygienic, jumpy Ben, and two incredibly competent camp counselors, Roxie and Dave, whose failure to keep the kids safe has much more to do with the nature of the park (and the willingness of the kids to break rules) than their own skill. After a few episodes establishing the characters and developing their relationships to each other (as well as revealing there’s very likely a spy in their midst), the events of the series collide with the events of Jurassic World, and the kids have to work together to survive.
While I watched Jurassic Park when it first came out, I’ve largely stayed away from the franchise since then, because I can never quite get over how bad an idea it all is for a corporation to spend so much money on ethically questionable science for the sake of profit in entertainment. It’s not because I don’t believe that such a thing would happen—it’s because I do find the idea that people would risk so much on such a dangerous idea completely believable. And for me, the best parts of Camp Cretaceous are when the teens point out that indeed, the adults have made some very questionable decisions. (Of course, in franchise fashion, the teens begin the series by frequently making the worst possible decision—this improves dramatically once the park starts falling apart.)
The parts my kids liked best were the gorgeous slow shots of the dinosaurs. Dreamworks provides some really glorious animation, giving lavish details to herds of dinosaurs. One particularly beautiful scene involves bioluminescent parasaurolophuses; another is the emergence of an imperfect ankylosaurus baby emerging from her shell and imprinting on one of the campers. The inventions and conceits of the film series—especially the gyroscopes—are used with finesse. And as per usual with a Dreamworks project, the amount of time invested in creating sympathetic characters who the audience will root for is spot on. Ben, voiced by Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs, Solar Opposites), bears design and vocal similarities to one of Dreamworks’s most famous protagonists, Hiccup of How to Train Your Dragon, which lends well to creating instant sympathy for him. (From the beginning, my ten year old appreciated him most as the character most likely to follow the rules and not tempt fate in a park full of dinosaurs, while my five year old instantly gravitated to Darius, the only true dinosaur lover among the campers.)
The cast is also notable for its diversity, showing representation across class and ethnicity, balancing gender (and leaving the doors open for a possible queer romance as the show progresses), and depicting a small range of different body types—none of the campers is cut from the exact same mold in height, weight, or shape, though they’re all fit enough to believe they could run for their lives as needed. (Those dinosaur jaws get awfully close sometimes.) None of the characters fit neatly into a box, and their personalities play against stereotype in most cases, which makes for a refreshing viewing experience.
Darius, who emerges as a leader among the campers, is a young African-American teen voiced by Paul-Mikél Williams (Westworld); as the first main character introduced to the audience, he’s an easy guide into the world, and remains the central protagonist throughout, and his ability to think on his feet (and to keep track of skads of dinosaur facts) frequently saves the day. Kenji, voiced by Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6, Titans), is an Asian American teen whose father is one of the bigwigs whose money keeps the park going—but who, despite his bravado and attitude, is lonely and longs for connection. Superstar Brooklyn, pink-haired and pale, is voiced by Jenna Ortega (Jane the Virgin, Elena of Avalor); her determination to win back followers is countered by her uncertainty about how to have “IRL” friends. Latinx cowgirl Sammy, voiced by Raini Rodriguez (Austin & Ally), comes off as big mouthed and flighty when introduced, but the skills she learned in handling animals on the ranch give her a depth the others initially underestimate. And while serious athlete Yaz typically prefers to be a loner (and is only there because Jurassic World is her corporate sponsor), Kausar Mohammed’s voicework gives viewers a sense of her personality before she lets in any of the campers. Glen Powell is a convincing perpetual camp counselor type as Dave, who’s always ready to try to use his charm to diffuse situations. English actress Jameela Jamil (The Good Place) gives Roxie a gravitas that makes it clear why she was hired to manage the camp initiative for the park.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
But while the character interactions are spot on, the jump scares and the imminent danger that are the core of the franchise are the central focus of the series, which clearly intends to follow up with a second season. For viewers who don’t handle cliffhangers well (see my aforementioned ten year old), this is best when binged, as almost every episode ends on a cliffhanger meant to propel you into the next. There’s no gore—all of the humans injured or eaten by dinosaurs do so off screen—but peril is all around the characters, making the series possibly better suited toward less sensitive viewers. However, if your younger viewer can handle some intense dinosaur action (or just has access to a parent’s arms or lap for when things get too scary), they’ll make it through just fine.
As for me, now that I’ve seen Camp Cretaceous, my interest is piqued enough that I may need to go back and finally watch Jurassic World…
