Today is IMBOLC! Imbolc is the feast day of Brigid, a goddess of pre-Christian Ireland. She appears in Irish mythology as a member of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the daughter of the Dagda and wife of Bres, with whom she had a son named Ruadán. She is associated with wisdom, poetry, healing, protection, smithing and domesticated animals. Brigid's cross is a small variant of the cross often woven from straw or rushes. My artwork depicts Brigid's cross with some added Celtic flare to it. All of the variations of my Brigid's Cross artwork in this post are available on prints and apparel at celtichammerclub.threadless.com ➖ #celtichammerclub #brigid #brigit #brid #irishgoddess #goddess #irish #ireland #irishmythology #imbolc #feastofbrigid #brigidfeastday #candlemas #irishart #celt #celtic #celticart #celticknot #cross #brigidcross #brgidscross #art #originalart #spring #springforward #springiscoming #saintbrigid #irishsaint #saintsofireland #ancientireland https://www.instagram.com/p/CoISSV_L6mA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Well, she might be done, or I might spend another week on touch ups. We’ll see. Crappy phone pic makes it more contrasty than it is in real life. But I still wanted to share. She’s Brigid, triple goddess of Ireland. In this carnation, she’s the maiden, abundance , spring…around 24” x 32” oil on canvas. She’ll be for sale so PM me if you’re interested. Prints will also be available. #goddessart #goddessbrigid #brigid #irishgoddess #visionaryart #figurativeart #portraiture #oilpainting #figurativepainting (at Dragonfly Studio) https://www.instagram.com/p/CRSxCbEnYVU/?utm_medium=tumblr

Flidais is Goddess of the Forest, wild nature and has strong associations to sexuality. She originates from Ireland and is known by the epithet Foltchaín, meaning “beautiful hair”. She had green eyes compared to the most beautiful emeralds in the world.
Tumblr media
She is said to be a shape shifter and a healing Goddess. An Earth Mother, nurturing and providing abundance. She is both domestic and wild, maternal and sexual.
Some accounts claim Flidais to be the Celtic “Goddess of the Hunt”and is often toted as the Celtic Artemis. “While her temperament could be prone to ferocity, her classic image is one of a benevolent, poised woman, often accompanied by woodland creatures and her bow, as she herself is considered to be a huntress and an accomplished archer”.
Tumblr media
She rides a chariot pulled by Deer, her sacred animal along with cattle. She owns a herd of magical cows that were able to provide her people with milk for many days. Whoever drank the milk would have better health, increased strength and would be healed from all wounds. She tended to and healed the men wounded in battle, her herd supplying an entire army with milk every seven days.
Tumblr media
She was part of the Tuath Dé Danann and had 3 daughters, Fand, Be Chuille and Be Teite. Two were considered witches, and one was a fairy queen. Her son, Nia Ségamain, was able to milk wild deer, powers given to him by his Mother.
Tumblr media
As an Earth Goddess, she is associated with the colours brown and green. Trees are also sacred to Flidais as she serves as the protector of the trees, wild fauna, flora and the animals of the forest.
She is seen as the protector of the poor and the outcast who called on her when they were in need of safe harbor. She has a soft spot for human outcasts; those marginalized by society; people who, once upon a time, would have been inclined to take shelter in the forest.
“She represents the eternal cycles of growth and rebirth. She embodies both our domestic and wild natures, helping us find that balance within ourselves. Flidais also returns us to our own sense of empowerment. She claims the right to give Her powers of nurturing, abundance, and sensuality to whomever she chooses”.

The Morrígan or Mórrígan, also known as Morrígu, is a goddess from Irish mythology. The name is Mór-Ríoghain in Modern Irish. It has been translated as "great queen", "phantom queen" or "queen of phantoms". The Morrígan is mainly associated with war and fate, especially with foretelling doom, death or victory in battle. In this role she often appears as a crow, the badb. She incites warriors to battle and can help bring about victory over their enemies. The Morrígan encourages warriors to do brave deeds, strikes fear into their enemies, and is portrayed washing the bloodstained clothes of those fated to die. She also has some connection with sovereignty, the land and livestock. In modern times she is often called a "war goddess" and has also been seen as a manifestation of the earth- and sovereignty-goddess, chiefly representing the goddess's role as guardian of the territory and its people. The Morrígan is often described as a trio of individuals, all sisters, called 'the three Morrígna'. Membership of the triad varies; sometimes it is given as Badb, Macha and Nemain while elsewhere it is given as Badb, Macha and Anand (the latter is given as another name for the Morrígan). It is believed that these were all names for the same goddess. The three Morrígna are also named as sisters of the three land goddesses Ériu, Banba and Fódla. The Morrígan is said to be the wife of The Dagda, while Badb and Nemain are said to be the wives of Neit. She is associated with the banshee of later folklore. #morrigan #irishgoddess https://www.instagram.com/p/BvnRM40nH1b/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=2b84d6vykicc

Apollo, Danu mother of the Fae, and Guadalupe Tonantzin Coatlicue
Hey everyone! I’m Leonor Luna T, and I’m a Celtic and Detribalized Native Two Spirit artist and bruja (witch). I just was approved to sell prints on INPRNT
https://www.inprnt.com/artist/gallery/
My art focuses on deities, and each piece is crafted with healing and protective intentions over several hours with just my fingers on a trackpad!
Please consider supporting me and getting a print for your altar or home to imbue it with high vibrations and protection. All deities that I draw are deities I work with actively, which may change (as I want to do more greek mythology and more Irish mythology) , but as of now they are portraits of entities that I know personally and channel.
Please support me if you can so that I can continue doing free tarot readings and witchcraft classes on my youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp6erQMYSYY_T7R6_gM7ZzQ/videos?view_as=subscriber
Thank you so much!!

It’s a start…a long way to go yet, but this is the Cailleach, the Crone, the last in the Triple Goddess Cycle. She rules over winter and signifies the resting time before rebirth begins…going inside, into the dark moon, into out shadows, the chrysalis, the dormancy before the bloom… #cailleach #thecailleach #thecrone #triplegoddess #winteriscoming #antler #triplespiral #oldwoman #cauldron #irishmythology #irishmythologyart #irishgoddess #bellacoolaartist https://www.instagram.com/p/CWmb5nIpsS0/?utm_medium=tumblr

GODDESS OF THE DAY Blodeuwedd Themes: Beauty; Relationships; Charity; Hope Symbols: Flowers (any); Owl About Blodeuwedd: This intensely beautiful Welsh goddess’s name means “flower face” because magicians fashioned her visage from oak, primrose, meadowsweet, and broom flowers. Folktales say that Blodeuwedd was unfaithful to her husband. As punishment for her crime, the same magicians who gave her a flower face chose to be merciful and transformed Blodeuwedd into an owl rather than inflicting some other punishment. She has forever remained in this form, mourning the loss of love and reminding people of two important lessons: relationships are fragile, and beauty is indeed only skin deep.-365 Goddesses #blodeuwedd #irishgoddess #themagicapothecary #wiccans #pagansofinstagram #witchesofetsy #witchesofinstagram #witchesoffacebook #witchesoftwitter https://www.instagram.com/p/BwAU-zqBWab/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=e6or3koj4y5k
