Such a brilliant masterpiece by ZAV Architects in #Hormuz #Iran / 2020. ‘Presence’, in Hormuz is a continuous process aiming at building trust rather than architectural objects, in order to encourage the participation of local people and the inclusion of their interests in any intervention in the island. The project is a multitude of small-scale domes built with the super- adobe technique of Nader Khalili, the innovative and simple technique using rammed earth and sand. Domes are familiar structures in the region. Their small scale makes them compatible with the building capabilities of local craftsmen and unskilled workers, which have been prepared for this project with previous smaller projects. Today they are trained master super- adobe masons, as if Nader Khalili multiplied exponentially. London architect Farshid Moussavi has overhauled three storeys of an existing Georgian building in the city's West End to create the first physical retail space for Victoria Beckham's eponymous fashion label Visitors enter through a front door cast in concrete, intended to echo the proportions of the existing first floor windows on the building. La práctica con sede en Teherán, @caatstudio, utilizó patrones geométricos iraníes para diseñar una fachada de ladrillos lisos dentro de marcos de concreto modulares para el Proyecto Residencial Kahrizak.

“La elección del material fue un parámetro importante en este proyecto principalmente porque tuvimos que elegir algo asequible y fácil de transportar al sitio. Como resultado, consideramos bloques de arcilla que se producían en una fábrica cercana y esto significó una disminución considerable en el costo de flete de los materiales. Los módulos se construyeron con ladrillos y tratamos de encontrar un material adecuado para los marcos de los módulos. El material menos costoso que nos dio la capacidad de crear nuestra sensación de espacio deseada fue el hormigón. De esta manera, podríamos reducir el costo del proyecto al mínimo. Usamos esta reducción de costos para crear espacios interiores de alta calidad ”, dijo el arquitecto.
