🎯 IP theft is real. Protect your business from copycats.
Intellectual Property (IP) theft is a growing concern for businesses of all sizes. Copycats and competitors can steal your hard-earned ideas, designs, and innovations, jeopardizing your brand’s reputation and financial stability. Protecting your IP is crucial to safeguarding your competitive edge and ensuring long-term success.
Implement robust measures such as trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets to secure your assets. Educate your team on the importance of IP protection, and take legal action against infringements when necessary. Don’t let copycats profit from your creativity—stay vigilant and defend what’s rightfully yours.

https://bit.ly/3NhAq7x - 🔐 Florida resident Onur Aksoy admitted guilt in the District of New Jersey for running a large-scale operation trafficking fraudulent and counterfeit Cisco networking equipment. He operated across a vast network, including at least 19 businesses in New Jersey and Florida, around 15 Amazon storefronts, and over 10 eBay storefronts. These entities were collectively responsible for importing tens of thousands of low-quality, modified computer networking devices with counterfeit Cisco branding from China and Hong Kong. The total estimated retail value of these devices is in the hundreds of millions. The operation generated over $100M in revenue, with Aksoy pocketing millions for personal gain. #CyberCrime #FraudulentBusiness 🏭 The devices, originally older, lower-model products, were transformed by Chinese counterfeiters to mimic new, enhanced, and more costly Cisco equipment. The counterfeiters incorporated pirated Cisco software and unauthorized, substandard components, and added counterfeit Cisco packaging. The final touch was the counterfeit Cisco labels, stickers, boxes, and documentation, designed to make the devices appear new and genuine. #CounterfeitGoods #IPTheft ⚠️ The counterfeit products sold by Aksoy's network were fraught with performance, functionality, and safety issues, often resulting in considerable damage to their users’ networks. Among his customers were hospitals, schools, government agencies, and the military, with some damage incidents costing users tens of thousands of dollars. #SafetyIssues #ConsumerRights 🚢 Between 2014 and 2022, Customs and Border Protection seized around 180 shipments of counterfeit Cisco devices en route to Aksoy’s network from China and Hong Kong. Aksoy used various methods to try to dodge scrutiny, including splitting up shipments, using fake delivery addresses, and using an alias, “Dave Durden,” in his dealings with Chinese co-conspirators. #IllegalOperations #CustomsSeizure 🛑 Despite seven cease and desist letters from Cisco between 2014 and 2019, Aksoy continued his illegal operations. In some instances, he even responded with forged documents via his attorney. Following a 2021 raid on Aksoy's warehouse, authorities seized over 1,156 counterfeit Cisco devices worth more than $7M. #LawEnforcement #CorporateCompliance 👨⚖️ Aksoy pleaded guilty to conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods, mail fraud, and wire fraud. Under his plea agreement, he faces a potential four to six and a half years in prison and will have to forfeit $15M in illicit gains and make full restitution to his victims. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 6.

🤢 NO, the LogOX isn’t green. 😂NO, we didn’t change the angle of the carrying handle and add a goofy looking jumbo hook to it. 🤬NO, the LogOX is not now nor will it ever be made in the open air concentration camp that is communist China. What you’re seeing in these photos is just a sampling of the Chinese knockoffs we’ve seen pop up on Amazon and other platforms over the past few months. Some of the scammers just photoshop their knockoff version into a photo (like this old lady) or steal our photos then change the tool’s color. It’s just part of the $136 million in intellectual property that the US Department of Defense estimates that China steals from US companies EVERYDAY. The LogOX is patented and we’re fighting back against these scammers. We always appreciate when people let us know where they’ve seen a knockoff online. ✅A great way to check where any product is manufactured and where the company selling it on Amazon is physically located, is to use the @wecultivateus Chrome extension. For those of us who actively try our best to look for American made products first, this is a great tool to try! 👍🏻🇺🇸🪵 #TeamLogOX #madeinusa #iptheft #forestry #firewood #knockoff #logox #buyerbeware #amazon #onlineshopping #ecommercebusiness #scammer #cultivate #americantoolsforwoodsmen #buyamerican https://www.instagram.com/p/CnNQKhfvNIM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

If this wing design pops up on any store besides mine, it’s an illegal copy. For months now, overseas factories have been making rip-offs of my Titania fairy wing design as flapping wings, & they're showing up all over the web, undercutting me. Them making flapping wings itself is not the issue, the issue is they're ripping off this specific design. Jordan and I both knew that eventually, big factories would make cheap versions of them. But they're ripping off my *specific* original wing designs to do it. Color variations don’t make it legal. Changing it 10% doesn’t make it legal, that's a myth. I'm the ONLY legit seller of this wing design. I filed with USCBP to stop imports at the border, but I don’t know if they’ll all be caught. I send removal notices, but anyone dealing with this knows certain sites are terrible at actually doing anything. Even when they do, these companies then file FALSE counterclaims, claiming rights they don't have, which means it can then go right back up within 10 business days unless I get a court order. The new Copyright Claims Board means we can now file 'Misrepresentation of a Claim' to fight some of them, but it still costs us. It adds up. I know the hot topic right now is AI art, but this actual blatant type of theft has been an even bigger problem without comparable media coverage or outcry. The real problem is a broken system. We need our education systems to teach about internet etiquette & copyright law, and better systems in place to protect us. DMCA laws need to be updated to better hold huge platforms accountable. They ignore us too often. Hell, maybe they can use AI to create an automatic detection & royalty system any time our designs & images are posted elsewhere online, wouldn't that be nice? Or divert funds from counterfeits to the original artist? YT does it with musicians' music, why not visual art? Please spread the word, don’t buy counterfeits! And if you haven't yet, see my 'Copyright' Highlight. The spread of copies of my photos without credit perpetuates the problem, small infringements often lead to more harmful ones.

Counterfeit Map & Dice Playing Cards
I'm finding pirated copies of my Inked Adventures Map & Dice playing cards. They even use my own product photos.
The following sites are NOT legitimate sellers of my products and are possibly criminal in nature.
Lakefeesc Yansauet EDCgadget (on Amazon) Wishmanhelen.en.made-in-china
Any one selling identical cards under a brand called "Lacesi" are selling fakes. Sometimes they appear on the Alibaba sites. I do NOT sell through Alibaba.
I DO NOT receive any income from those sites.
I also do not sell through Amazon. I am currently unable to list my cards on Amazon because, despite being the artist and designer, my products do not have specific retail codes - a restriction created to limit counterfeited goods. This does not stop sellers of the pirated cards, but Amazon has regularly honoured my requests for listings to be removed when I have reported them.
My main outlet for the playing cards is on Etsy, with a print on demand options on US-based DriveThruRPG and The Game Crafter. Sometimes I sell on Ebay as BilliamBabble and on Folksy (see links in the margins of this site for links to my Etsy storefront or visit the products page).

Melon Notebooks (@melon4note) claims persmission to reproduce the artwork of the late DeviantArt/IG artist, @Qinni.
In the screenshot Melon uses as proof of permission, there is absolutely none given to them.
Liars and thieves or just a bunch of people who suck at their job? There’s no excuse for either. Melon Notebooks is BLACKLISTED.

An illustration of Elon Musk I did in 2012 has been pirated and put on socks by the Indian company, The Socks Bakery. They found the image online, and reached out to me with an offer of creative control and royalties. I signed nothing and sent a formal cease and desist, but the @socksbakery continues to sell these socks bearing my copyrighted creation in the US and abroad, and I have received no compensation. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and I appreciate the aesthetic charm of a cringeworthy forgery, but many of my friends and fellow designers have experienced intellectual property theft much worse than this. Some of them remain in protracted legal battles against large corporations as their livelihoods have been compromised. Thank you to my friend Susie @boygirlparty who, when asked about her experience of piracy, reminded me, “it's actually dissolving our industry and I strongly advocate for not being complacent - both as an example to others as well as to protect your work from further theft.” #Pirated #piracy #plagiarism #iptheft #socksbakery #thesocksbakery #elonmusk #DesignerSocks #PremiumQuality #SocksBakery #SockSwag #ElonMusk #ElonMuskSocks #SteveJobs #SteveJobsSocks #Crypto #CryptoSocks #SiliconValley #SiliconValleySocks #MenFashion #BestGift #MenStyle #socksfetish #MenWithStyle #ElonMuskSocks #PremiumGifting #SocksForExtraordinaryPeople https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqs8b5hBw-O/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gyzm2o2ctu4z

You all know how much I hate #iptheft so please read this statement from @finfolkproductions about their tails being ripped off: repost via @instarepost20 from @finfolkproductions Tonight we were a little bit sad, but EXTREMELY proud to see our work featured on @rupaulsdragrace ! We were sad because, unfortunately, the tail used on the show is a stolen reproduction of our work. For the last two years, we have been battling with several international companies who are reprinting images of our tails onto fabric, and selling them as counterfeit products, without our consent. As artists, this type of theft is heartbreaking. We have put countless hours and many years into honing our craft, and creating original work that we are so incredibly proud of. We love @rupaulofficial and @rupaulsdragrace and would have been so honored to have our real work featured on the show. Instead, we would like to take a moment to highlight the importance of supporting artists, and researching products that may seem bootlegged before you purchase them. We don’t want to place blame, because we are sure this was unknown to @kameronmichaels and everyone on the production team. Please do not hatefully comment on our behalf, because as a company, and individuals, we only wish to spread inspiration and positivity. Instead, we would love it if @rupaulofficial @rupaulsdragrace and @kameronmichaels could credit us in any images posted. ❤️ If anyone feels like reposting this, please tag the official @rupaulsdragrace page so that we can spread the word! We love the show, we love drag, we love mermaids, and we love you. Thank you for your support, Abby & Bryn @finfolkproductions • • •PS @kameronmichaels we would love to make you a real tail! Please contact us if you would love to collaborate. #rupaul #rupaulsdragrace #rupaulsdragraceseason10 #kameronmichaels #drag #dragqueen #queen #mermaid #mermaidtail #finfolk #finfolkproductions
