Hi guys, so I’ve literally just been a bit bored and not so well and a really fun idea popped into my head just now … let’s all share our very controversial, unfiltered IPK opinions and thoughts! You can be as wild as you want and I promise no judgements bc this is a safe space for all of us lovely people 💗✨

I’ll go first!

I’m not overly fond of the Garima twist, I think it made the plot a tad contrived and idk, it didn’t really do anything for me in terms of creating depth in the story. It just seemed so unnecessary and a cheap way to create angst and drama. If the writers wanted to add more angst I’m sure there are alternative ways to achieve that …weirdly, it actually made Arnav’s past less impactful to me; I felt less intrigued by it.

So, that was one of mine, I would love to hear some of yours so please share if you’ve got any 🥰

The mind dragged ASR back to where his hand held hers, and he confessed his love for her: "Our heartbeats become one..." He didn't realize that she was watching every move of his eyes.

But before showing further vulnerability, shutting the door of his closet, he threw the arrow back at her. "No, and you?"

Oh, he wanted to make sure that she remembered anything or not. 

"Bilkul Nahin!"  Not at all! 

Stuttering yet confidently denying her state of mind, she clasped her fingers without meeting his eyes. The hearts of both rolled their eyes at these two crazy people who were madly in love with each other.

Well, a few minutes before, Anjali and her rolling camera showed them otherwise, yet they dared to deny any crime they were committing together throughout this event.

He forgot that seeing Khushi getting mentally and physically abused by Shyam, his rage had no boundaries.

He forgot that he was happy seeing her making up with Nani and everyone else within the family. Her crazy antics brought a smile to his face. His shoulders relaxed when he wanted to leave her enjoying this event with her style, but again, Shyam brought out the possessive husband in him and walked towards her instead of walking away.

He claimed her as his wife as a news flash for the entire world, saying that she and he are hers by applying color to her. The vibrating colors were celebrating this event around him with the thunder of calp, and she felt his touch on her core. But his black-and-white life felt the colour of life when she smeared him with his favourite colour... the color red. The blood rushed through his veins, and his heart melted under this soft touch, the one he had been craving for days.

“I can smell her flowery perfume, too strong in this enclosed darkness. I wonder if this is a temptation. If so, I am stone.”― Joanne Harris,

He declared her his wife after denying his claim that he would never accept her as his wife, which is only a contract. Oh, well, he forgot that, too. Now his heart was talking his feet wherever she was. She was somehow still burning with his touch, a touch that claimed her as his wife in front of this entire world. 

She regained some of her dignity, her joy back. She finally had her family by her side, and his family accepted her, too. She was back to her craziness, and innocence was written all over. Even ASR couldn't resist that temptation... She needed something cold to come out of that fire she felt a few minutes ago under his touch and gaze. It was a constant battle for him not to turn his head in her direction, but he looked over at her every time she did her thing to make him crazy. Each time, he’d smile.

He didn't forget to follow her for not letting her flash the news of their private moments or allowing her to be away from him further. Yet he forgot that he was enjoying his drunk wife or even running after her. Well, she doesn't drink either, but if she is in it, then he will be in, too, as she wanted to hear his "heart ", not the brain.

"Dil ki baat keh dijiye..."

Say what your heart wants...

"Nani, this is the man who said this on that dreadful night..." Ah! Shyam was disappointed. He wanted to hear it...

He was stopping her from getting drunk further, but he forgot that she was more clever than him. She made him drunk as well. Anjali's camera seized the moment for eternity when he was drinking for the very first time.

Then, there was no turning back. His heart took over, and he expressed his love for her to everyone. 

"Khushi is a little crazy, yet she is cute..."

Above all...

"She is beautiful..."

"He eyes, her hair, her smile...."

She was dancing unknowingly while her husband was busy admiring her to everyone, and even Shyam got to know his state of mind and heart what he didn't want to hear.

He walked towards her while she was dancing. Somewhere in his heart, he wanted to dance with her. Teri Meri Night played along, making him dance to his heart's tunes. He pulled her closer than ever, smiled into her eyes and twirled her with happiness. He was in a mood to dance...and he danced carefree with Khushi and his family and hugged his sister. His eyes brimmed out with joy or pain, but he did all his heart told him to do.

His heart clenched with rage, seeing another man touching her. How dare anyone even think to do such a thing? She was his, and he announced it again.

"tu ne meri biwi ko haath lagaya?" How dare you to touch my wife...

 Following her essence, suddenly, he lost her. She was nowhere to be found, but her strong essence brought him right beside her. She was busy clearing her eyes and mind from such thoughts and emotions that were raising her hopes again. 

"Khushi!"

His voice brought her back to him again, but she didn't want to solve again in such thoughts. She didn't want to feel these emotions, but his closeness was unavoidable. He held her hand to clear her eyes, but her mind reminded her of the deceiving moments that dragged her into this trap. This was a trap, and it can't be true. She turned her face and forbade his touch this time. He obliged her wish and turned around, but she didn't want that. She wanted to ask him the reason, the truth, the confession from his mouth of all that was happening between them. A mirror image of her heartbeat resonated in him, but she wanted to hear it and believe in it.

She stopped him, making him halt, and he forgot everything under her touch.

The truth was, she didn't know what she wanted anymore—it was not just physical. Whatever it was must have also scared him, though. So she made a concerted effort to resist his temptation, even if she sometimes wanted nothing more than to surround herself with his affection.

"I want to ask you something, Arnavji,” she whispered, watching the curve of his lips by cupping his cheeks.

“Why does my heartbeat run faster when you come closer?"

"Aisa Kyuon Hota Hai?"

How could he resist such an innocent yet honest wish she could ever ask him to? Like a drop of ink in water, the urge rushed to the surface and then slowly spread out and thinned until he was made slightly darker by it. He was willing to bring this entire world to her over, but she lost her consciousness. His mind acted upon this one act and registered her innocence as her drunken state. His heart ached, and his eyes spilt over the fact that life still had colors along with her. 

A part of him registered today that she was his...only His.

He took his wife in his arms and walked with pride and possessiveness, which each eye witnessed. A husband was taking his wife to his den. With each step he took, he could feel it, like an itch under the skin. He was only ever aware of it enough to know it could never be satisfied.

 "Main batata hoon." I tell you why this happened:"

" Aisa kyuon hota hai..."

"Whatever you feel, I feel the same. My heartbeat runs faster the same way when you come closer to me. All this happens because our heartbeats become one."

"Humri dhakanain ek ho jaati hain..."

He had fallen hard for the woman who had broken his heart only a week before, the woman who had held a question mark to his mind just a few days prior. He knew he would never fully recover from this fall.

But he didn’t want to remember any of that. He forgot everything, and all he remembered was her in his arms right now. He couldn't see her tears, distressed voice, pleas, and even a dot of color on her cheek and neither her hair. He cleared all with such a gentle touch. 

Holding her hand to his heart, he kept looking into her eyes, making her believe this undeniable truth.

She asked to confirm..."Humari Dhakanain?"  Our heartbeats?

He nodded," our heartbeats become one..."

She slightly moved away, but he pulled her, refusing to let go of him. She placed her hand over his, the friction of hands felt by the hearts and she couldn't refuse his plea. Resting her head over his heart, she let herself believe in it.

Time seized this moment between these two hearts away from prying eyes. Suddenly, Anjali's voice hit the ears like a pickle remedy to escape this state. He was annoyed, but he obliged Khushi and Di's requests.

He forgot even that he was waiting for Khushi to grab her belongings from the poolside before going downstairs with his family. Her touch melted the ice of all this time, and his touch made her believe in love again. She even blurted to Shyam that heartbeats became one..he was annoyed, but at the same time, he knew that they were still not one. 

"I'm waiting"...had me, and she asked even more sedately.

For what? for my heartbeat?

The moment the pickle touched their lips, their hearts sighed as their minds became active again, responding to the same hormones of denial. 

"Di, delete everything!" He almost ordered his sister and she refused for eternity. 

"Never" Good job Anjali.

ASR climbed up his room, and Khushi followed him. After the great denial, both were back to square one. They first fought at the bathroom door, where she claimed her rights to be his wife—the very same way he had done a few moments earlier in front of the entire world.

But he took the edge of that right, reminding her why he married her and what he could do to his sister Payal if she didn't follow the rules...

▪︎ IPKKND Ep 171 : Getting tender - ready for more

"I don't care."

Khushi is confused, they were acting like that night when they almost kissed. Once more, she couldn't control her desire to touch just like him.

But this time it's as if they actually kissed. She has let him touch her as he wanted, she loved every move he made ! This was the next step they needed to apease their frustration. 👀

But she also remember how he ran away the last time. That's why she refuses to make guesses, she promised to not expect anything anymore. He has to confess for her to believe he's indeed in love with her.

Arnav mimicking Khushi's stutterings is too adorable !!!!

"I won't eat you." Arnav says while moving closer to Khushi. It's very difficult to ignore the AGAIN very s-xual insinuation LOL ! 🤒

I really like the fact that they used the mirror to show us Arnav's desire. Her almost bare back must definitely had big tempting effect on him ! 👀 "I do want to eat you Khushi"

"Thank you" Khushi's voice was so sweet and soft uuuugh !!

Arnav was about to leave but then randomly decided to untie Khushi's hair hehe ! He adores her hair down, he finds her so beautiful. He can't help to want to see them again falling on her shoulders. It's like his own gift for helping her not losing in front of everyone looool !🤭

Arnav was trying to leave again but then turned around, still thirsty for her beauty, he wanted to savor her one last time before the evening ends. I feel like he wanted to give her, yet again, another confirmation of what he was trying to do.

"Yes, Khushi, I am seducing you, I want you. I love you."

He takes the opportunity to compliment her on her dress, he probably was checking her out during the whole night haha "this color doesn't look that bad".

This is the first time he allows himself to openly compliment her. He never did before because he was probably scared she will knew how he feels about her. But, he wants her to know now. He used to disguise his compliment with shady comments lol.

Both Aranv and Kushi' voices during this scene were very tender and gentle. Arnav still had that sedutive intonation tho (he was still on fire) while Khushi whole being was still trembling from the intensity of their dance.

DDM, are we not going to talk about the fact that Khushi, Arnav and the fam go to see Ready in cinema (in 2012) when Lavanya literally organised a dance on Character Dheela, a song from the movie, in 2011?!?!?!

Hi PS, I started seeing IPKKND for the first time and was looking for written updates as I am more of a written word person than seeing. So I was reading ahead of the episode that I was currently on. I fell in love with your written updates and it actually helped me view the episodes in a new way, with an insight that I wouldn't have had if I hadn't read your analysis before. So thank you for spending the time doing that. I also loved all of the fanfic you wrote. Lastly, I read your note [CONT]

ipkknd top 5 favorite scenes

disclaimer: these are scenes that have literally remained with me throughout all these years and still incite the same dumb squealy reaction i had when i first watched the show. it was extremely hard to narrow it down to 5, i have a lot but for the sake of simplicity :)

I. WHEN ARNAV PUTS THE SILVER COIN IN THE DETERGENT POWDER BAG (episode 102/103)

this is such an underrated scene??? i rarely see anyone bring this up or mentioning it. i remember when i first watched it, i was so moved just because... typically, arnav’s character finds khushi’s beliefs in such trivial things so futile. yet he actually went out of his way, before he had developed a strong sense of feelings for her, just to do something so small to make her happy.

this is truly such a kind gesture to me, not only romantically, but also as a sign that he cares about her happiness. you really get to see how arnav intrinsically is a good person and it just warms my heart so much. this scene has stayed with me all this time, just because 1) it raised my own standards for a partner lol who will entertain even my smallest silly sources of happiness and 2) i like that they show arnav respects the things that make khushi happy, and we get a glimpse of how he’ll be as a future husband.

II. WHEN KHUSHI GETS ‘A’ ON HER MEHENDI (episode 174)

THIS SCENE and just generally the entire mehendi episode... nothing will come close to this for me. i contested between the kiss in this episode and this but... this scene trumps it. there’s so much being communicated in these playful lines and banter, my heart literally sings every time i watch it. i love seeing arnav flirty and khushi flustered yet still holding her ground, albeit poorly and humorously. the dynamic and tension between them at this point... where they’re dancing around the confession combined with the fact that arnav’s trying so hard to put khushi on the spot, IT’S SO GOOD. arnav’s face physically lights up when he spots that ‘a’ because i picture he’s trying to find any confirmation of her feelings and he’s so smug, i love it.

it’s such a fun scene, even my friends who don’t speak a word of hindi who’ve watched it dubbed love this scene. that just shows you how powerful it is lol.

III. WHEN KHUSHI DANCES TO DIDI TERI JETH JI (episode 168)

there’s so much to be said. i looooove the references khushi makes in this song, i will always be so thankful to the writers of this show that they went out and rerecorded the song with changed lyrics to make it fit the scene. it’s so cute and fun, seeing khushi perform this musical-like dance about their relationship and show all these bits and pieces of their interactions.

the bonus is arnav’s reaction. man, i love it, he goes from fuming and “what the” to laughing at himself and just the situation. it shows that the two have come a long way from the moments khushi references in the song, because they’re lowkey looking back it and just finding humor in their old relationship. 

IV. WHEN ARNAV GIFTS HER BANGLES (episode 179/180)

i kid you not, this entire bangles thing had me smiling the whole two episodes it spanned. i’ll probably get early wrinkles because i really couldn’t stop smiling for the hour of the two episodes.

firstly, i love that arnav, once again, acknowledges the small things that make khushi happy and goes to get her the bangles. secondly, THE BEATING AROUND THE BUSH just gets me squealing. they’re both so unsubtle and playful, the way arnav’s dying to see if she’s worn the bangles and the way khushi knows that very fact and purposely hides them. and bonus, i just love the look on arnav’s face when he grabs the thali from anjali and walks to khushi, knowing that she can’t run from it now.

V. WHEN ARNAV SAYS “SHE’S BEAUUUTIFUL” ON HOLI (episode 207)

the show mainly takes on khushi’s pov, and we get to see firsthand how she feels for arnav because she goes on those long monologues whenever she’s alone. arnav, not so much. not to mention, khushi is very straight-forward and doesn’t seem to put a front on the way she feels whereas arnav almost always disguises what he’s thinking.

that’s why i love this scene so much. arnav, albeit looking silly and high on bhaang, is so unfiltered for the first time and he’s just blurting out his real thoughts when he sees khushi (plus the reactions from nani and anjali are adorable). finally, we get to see arnav acknowledge that he thinks khushi is so beautiful for the first time??? and it’s so satisfying to watch??? it’s just so nice to see arnav acting the way he would’ve as a husband had the misunderstanding not happened.

Discussing IPKKND Tracks

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my ask so thoroughly.  

Your reaction to receiving my ask(s) was so cute. It made me feel all warm inside. Tumblr seemed to be drunk, my theme kept weird-ing out until I changed it then I can’t see the changes on any device except my laptop. Also, I kept getting an error when replying to your cat post until I gave up. Spoiler Alert: I just wanted to let you know your babies are super adorable and should bless your blog more often.

Glad to know you love rambling, something we have in common.

I have watched IPKKND with English subtitles and so my understanding might not have picked the nuances in cultural/linguistic expression.

1. Arnav and Lavanya

Yes, the way IPKKND began and the theme the show introduced as well as the way it was narrated was gripping and sort of ‘western’. I am not a fan of the Daily Soaps with exception to IPKKND, so I never understood the differences between individual channels and the type of content they air until you explained it. So I understand now why they had to do certain things to indulge the channel and its audience. Though I’m mostly happy with how the show turned out to be in the end, it’s still tragic to imagine what could have been if their creativity hadn’t been restrained.

Yes, I can’t watch these holier than thou scenes between Lavanya, Khushi, and Nani. I love all three women, Nani isn’t the usual ‘has to be strict all the time’ grumpy person, she almost always down for a good time, sensitive to situations and is there to team up with anyone for fun, Khushi is a courageous little ray of sunshine I adore and Lavanya is sweet and realistically portrayed. Her growth is beautiful to watch. Also, these three have great chemistry together and I love watching their scenes except when they are there to moral police Lavanya and it’s supposed to be a ‘good thing’ and we are supposed to nod along to the misogyny.

Arnav and Lavanya’s relationship isn’t healthy, it’s quite bad - there’s dishonesty, some power imbalance and their expectations of another isn’t aligned. But, here’s what I think about the cheating:

I feel like Arnav did cheat on Lavanya quite a number of times, emotionally and Diwali time included. Arnav and Lavanya were committed enough to be in a live in relationship and they both had feelings for another (Lavanya more than Arnav and I’m not saying they had the same intensity as between Arnav and Khushi.) At no point during that time was it okay for him to be attracted and have feelings for Khushi or lead on Lavanya because he didn’t want to deal with them. Frankly, it was disrespectful and cruel.  

Arnav recognized the attraction and did everything he could to deny the said attraction and feelings. He hated the loss of control when it came to Khushi and how she made him feel. Every time Khushi asked why did it matter - he knew why it did but never wanted to admit it. It was not unknown to them what they were feeling, they might not know the depth of it, but it was attraction that much they both knew.

He wasn’t honest with himself neither does he acknowledges that he feels that way. Him gathering all those feelings weren’t something he could control, he could, however, control his honesty and how his and Lavanya’s relationship would proceed after everything.

He’s not actively pursuing Khushi behind Lavanya’s back and most of ArHi interactions are accidental but he’s also never actively putting an end to it. When doing that, he’s hurting Lavanya.

He also actually admits it himself in Episode 142 - I didn’t do the right thing with Lavanya…maybe ever. When he finally realized how unfair he was being and confessed how he actually felt to Lavanya was something he should have done a long time ago.

[I do realize they are fictional characters and things are written or done the way they were for the narrative. I am just sharing my own opinion that there was definite cheating.]

2. Kidnapping Track

I look forward to your discussion about this track. The Kidnapping track was fine, it’s the subplots I had an issue with. Like you mentioned Bubbly, that Uncle etc.

“We probably would’ve gotten more interaction between the four of them and it would’ve been a delight to see them - considering the New Year Episode & the Akash suicide track, the four of them are like fireworks together!”

Yes, this is what I meant. All four characters had chemistry which should be explored further. The New Year episode is one of my favorites.

Additionally, Akash and Payal should be developed further as their own characters, aside from the main protagonists, and have their own story independent of Arnav and Khushi’s which would have been interesting to follow. Also Khushi-Payal’s sisterhood. I mean, after the marriage, not once did Payal asked Khushi if she was doing okay with that creep being in the same house or anything normal siblings would discuss. Their entire relationship went down the drain after the hate marriage.

This isn’t the best example to provide but this is what I can think of right now, in The Office, Jim and Pam has their love story and then there’s Dwight and Angela happening around the same time. It’s interesting to follow both even when one love story isn’t affecting the other love story.

3. Khushi Attempting Suicide

I agree with you completely - this is the one track the writers on the team should have all said a definite no to. There’s already enough misunderstanding and misconceptions about mental illness and the last thing anybody needs is a whole ass track dedicated to showing funny it was that the main protagonist wanted to kill herself. Silly girl.

Then they never show any kind of support for Khushi and she’s completely isolated after the incident. The entire track is disgusting just like the thing you told me about the other show.

Again, thank you for responding and discussing this with me. The magic of the show is evident in the fact that there’s still something to discuss nearly a decade after the show aired.

I’ll be looking forward to more of your content.

Hi honey :) my confession is that I absolutely love the first Shyam reveal scene. Of course it annoys me that Khushi/Nk have literally zero evidence.. But I liked all the cross-examinations and different people offering their side of the story and it’s kind of a whole puzzle piece that fits together. And of course, Shyam is peak villain and played his character so well so that it’s his word against Khushi’s. And I love how Arnav can finally validate that Khushi was telling the truth bc everything that Mami/NK/Payal says checks out with what Khushi was trying to tell him this whole time even if there’s no proof. And Shyam already confessed to Arnav about loving Khushi so he can see how Shyam is openly lying to Anjali. I just hate that Arnav doesn’t admit why he originally married Khushi. He needed to apologize over forcing Khushi to marry him and all that she went through bc of him :/

I love your confession! It certainly was an interesting way to expose his truth and a very tense moment, we also got to see how silver-tongued Shyam is; I completely agree with Arnav not confessing forcing Khushi into marriage.. I’ve always wanted him to do so or for everyone to have eventually learnt the truth … I felt it had been glossed over :(

Arnav wasn’t punished enough for his crimes tbh (I guess this is another one of my confessions) but just saying sorry once doesn’t cut it. I wanted him to grovel and repent further, what he put Khushi through is literal criminal behaviour (it was so bad that she was driven to suicide) so yeah, a verbal sorry and sad puppy eyes don’t make up for it in my books. I wanted both the Gupta family and Raizada family to feel personal shame for being gross towards Khushi after the elopement…by not showing them feeling genuine remorse and calling out toxicity, the writers normalised that kind of behaviour ☹️ so I’m totally with you on this confession!

Hey. Relaxed Sunday wishes after the Saturday nite 🎉. For all the focus On SSO IB has never really shown us his thoughts about Annika have they? We see Annika's journey of falling for him& she's talked about it a number of times in the show. But never him. I mean his reactions to her yes, but not the process. As in why her out of all the girls he has met!! We know but we don't know his POV, do we? Have they ever shown that? Do you think the makers will ever have him do that?

Other than a few choicely-placed flashback montages (esp. during moments of crises, such as when Daksh kidnapped her, etc.), no, we’ve never really seen Shivaay’s side of things. This is not unusual in desi tv shows. IPKKND was similar too. Often the show is the story of the male lead, but we’re shown a perspective heavily leaning in the female lead’s favour (because the audience is largely female, and she’s the one they’re relating with, and putting themselves in the place of while watching.) Plus with these characters often being stodgy alpha males unable-to-articulate-themselves-emotionally, we are to infer their love from their ACTIONS, than lengthy voiceover monologues. They fall in love with the manic pixie dream girl-woman, because this is the first time in their privileged life that a girl (or anyone, really!!!) has bothered to challenge them and stand up to them and not let them get away with their BS, rather than fawn over their looks and/or wealth. They get off on the whole “takkar ki ishqbaazi” concept that this whole show is based on.

I think we should be getting some kind of confession of love from Shivaay’s side either before the wedding or when the truth re: Pinky and why Anika left him comes out, so that’s our best bet on finding out his side of things. Other than that, don’t hope for emotionally constipated Billu to be monologuing about his journey into the world of love. The best the man can do is parrot the words that Anika has told him (“khidkitod khoobsurat”, “meri saansein ruk rahi hai”) back to her, in an attempt to make her understand what she means to him. 🙄🙄🙄

I hope you are doing well. My question is in the Payal- Akash sangeet if Kushi had infact lost, what do you think Arnav would have made her do? Also i feel like Kushi could have asked Arnav a more tricky question or got him to do something a bit bigger? As it was quite obvious he got her the bangles na.

If Khushi had lost, there's a high chance Arnav would've asked something romantic out of her. He clearly started developing those emotions and was getting sure that he wanted to essentially date her or be with her. He just did not have the moment, opportunity, courage or confidence.

Also... did Khushi win? She won because of Arnav so technically nobody won. And, Arnav, to be honest, would find no happiness if Khushi was actually miserable over losing.

He would just mumble the competition didn't matter - and again win Khushi's heart by giving up the competition for her. He always would. Her smile and twinkle is what makes his day. He wants to passionately engage with her as much as possible - be it through a challenge too.

You see, Khushi does not need to know that Arnav bought bangles for her. He has constantly done things for her that she needs. He's paid off her father's hospital bills, he's wordlessly helped Akash and Payal get together, he's ensured her family is respected and has stood up in front of Mami multiple times.

He's been there in the hospital when she needed someone.

So Khushi isn't really asking if Arnav bought the bangles.

She needs to know if he can accept that he's been doing this for her. If he can accept that he bought the bangles for her.

There's no going back. She knew he had her anklet, but he dismissed it. She knew they were about to kiss, but he dismissed it. She knew he bought her bangles, what if he dismissed it?

It cannot be another 'farak nahi padta'.

So when Arnav accepts he bought bangles, it's also an acceptance of multiple other feels. And he's confident enough to accept it. She just needs to ask.

And that's why her next question is - why.

Now that Khushi has received acceptance, she's looking for a confession.

I was in A Mood™️ yesterday. I think I’m still not 100% today, so sorry for any weirdness!

Honestly. I am all disappoint that Chandni is lecturing him instead of running the fuck away.

Oh come on. Murli put the electromagnet under an entirely different rug. Did Advay just change the floors to be ferrous or something?!?!

Side note: Hey actually, that would be awesome. Let’s pretend he did that. Also, ferrous means ‘containing iron’, which is magnetic.

Advay: “Abhi toh maine sirf tumhe roka hai, Chandni. Agar zid pe aa jaoon, toh waqt bhi rok sakta hoon.”    [I’ve just stopped you, Chandni. If I become insistent, then I can stop time itself.]

Now that I would like to see, because I’m secretly building a time machine in my backyard and need tips.

2. Whyyyyyyyy? Just whhyyyyyy!?

What is going on? He’s called her bhagyavan before, and she’s all “da fuq” as if she didn’t hear him and basically accept it?! Oh okay, he’s been promoted to Bahut Ajeeb Singh Raizada. For fuck’s sake, Chandni, even when you’re angry it seems like you’re flirting with him.

Advay: “Main tumhara bahut purana aashiq hoon, Chandni.”     [I’m an old admirer of yours, Chandni.]

Side note: Gosh, aashiq was a difficult word to translate. Fancier? Fan? Obsessed-person? Me love you long time?

TAKE THE STUPID SHOES OFF AND RUN, YOU IMBECILE. WHY IN THE FUCK ARE YOU JUST ... *splutters* AND WHY DON’T YOU ALREADY KNOW HE’S DEV HE’S LITERALLY DONE EVERYTHING BUT HOLD AN “I AM DEV” SIGN IN THE BACKGROUND.

I can’t. *breathes* Go awaaaayyyy Advay. 

Advay: “Tum maan chuki ho, Chandni. You just don’t know it yet.”    [You’ve already accepted, Chandni. You just don’t know it yet.]

He’s right. This girl is already in too deep, she just doesn’t know it yet. Aaahhh, of course. Saying his name is what disarms him (and the magnet).

Advay: “Tum itna haq se naam le kar baat kahogi, toh maan-ni toh padegi na?”    [If you take my name with such entitlement then I’ll have to accept, right?]

You can really see Dev and Advay fighting it out can’t you? Sobti has brought the conflict to life so well. I guess all that practise with Rajkumar and Rakshas? The music in this entire sequence makes me wanna vomit. #justsayin’

3. Baba ki aashirwad

Now, I’m all for Baba-Chandni scenes - I like them - but they’re only inserted when it’s convenient for the plot. I mean, he was sitting at the dining table when PP-Baba came over and they deliberately cut him out of most of the shots. I feel they’re not doing a good job of selling Chandni is close to her father.

I think I should’ve seen this coming, considering what Baba said about Advay when they first met.

This electric guitar Rabba Ve is one of my favourite things.

Mahant Baba: “Yeh toh yahan tere saath hai beta, jab yeh yahan tumhare saath hai toh tumhari aankhon mein aasoon kyun? Tum dono ek doosre ke saath hi achche lagte ho. Mujhe tum pe poora vishwas hai, ki tum hamari beti ko hamesha khushi rakhoge. Humein tumhari aankhon mein sachayi dikhti hai. Aur jiska mann sacha hota hai, kabhi kisi aur ko dukh nahin deta.”    [He’s here with you, child, why are there tears in your eyes if he is here with you? You both look good only with one another. I have faith in you, that you will keep my daughter happy. I see honesty in your eyes. Those who are true of heart never hurt others.]

Okay Baba, don’t check if the guy is a psychopath or anything, just bless their togetherness because they look pretty together.

I liked the way Advay’s eyes cut to Baba in disbelief. Baba knows something he doesn’t yet know -- he is tormentor and saviour both! And there is honesty in his eyes -- most of the time we see Dev in Sobti’s eyes. He plays Dev slightly differently to Advay. There’s something about this, I’ll share my theory below.

WHY DID THEY DUB IN THE UNNECESSARY “CONGRATULATIONS CHANDNI”??? It’s in the precap as well. I understand that they wanted to add something snarky in there as Advay’s one step closer to his revenge, but it was so unnecessary for him to say that.

Advay’s pretty happy with this unexpected boon, lol. See, the angsty Rabba ve works so well here. Sometimes they’re so on point with the music, and sometimes ... 

4. “Aag … ko aag nahin jalati, Chandni.”

Remember what Advay said at the maha-aarti?

PP-Baba’s enthusiasm for this alliance continues to be hella suspicious. Even fire can’t stop this boy.

Lol, why did they dub out Indrani’s “Ji.” as she’s talking to PP-Mummy? The sound editing for this episode is atrocious.

I like that this random stranger’s only quality is that he’s from a rich family (which automatically makes him bahut achcha!) And he’s connected to Veer for convenience.

Confession: I get Veer’s theme music stuck in my head all the time.

Such a fuckboi. I dislike.

5. White and blue

The family being all matchy-matchy for things, I totally get. But Advay matching too? That’s hilarious. Blue is a fairly tranquil colour, associated with the elements. White is about purity and innocence. I feel this colour scheme is about Chandni.

Shakun looked so different I had to go back and check it was her.

The series of shared flashbacks is interesting because they all have to do with marriage (proposal, bhagyavan, dupatta).

6. Chandni is adorable!

Haha, I loved the little satisfied nod she gave when he got stuck. This battle of wills between them is amazing! It’s the dynamic I loved about the maha-aarti episode. But I also have an issue with it because it reduces Advay’s abusive tendencies to a game. Advay’s so impressed with this though. He seems to like her fire and her defiance (to a point) -- he’s happy to have an equal in this revenge games.

Okay but unlike Chandni, Advay knows exactly what’s happening, yeah? Why doesn’t he just take the shoes off???

He actually seems distressed when the chunni passes him ... he seems to believe in the rituals and the symbolism. 

Note: This actually isn’t usually part of a roka, but part of the engagement ceremony. 4Lions doesn’t seem to know the difference lol -- they had an exchange of rings in IPKKND, indicating that they think a roka and mangni and sagai are the same thing.

7. It’s a different remote!!

So he’s not attracting the birds using a magnetic field. Which ... okay ... except that while you can repel birds (sometimes, and not every effectively) using ultrasonic waves, you can’t actually attract them using the same method. 

And how did he get them to poop on command? Can I toilet train my birdie using Advay’s methods? #PhatiSariAsksTheRealQuestions

Murli said “uss din”, which makes it seem like it’s a different day, but Advay was literally feeding the birds earlier on this day. Don’t let the change in costume confuse you!

Precap: I feel like I’ve been watching this precap forever without actually seeing it. Which indicates that the episodes are being changed right up until the moment they have to be with Star Plus for airing. This means they’re adding and taking away scenes in (almost) real-time to keep up with ratings. 

Theories:

1) I think Baba knows that Advay is Dev. Somehow.

" -Where were you?

-… " Arnav is smilling.

-"What are you looking at me like that? Why are you standing silently? When and where you went? Why didn't you inform anyone?

-… "

Khushi was extremely worried about Arnav's safety. Just like he also can be when he thinks she might be in a bad situation.

Arnav disappeared for three hours without answering his phone, something he never does.

He probably went somewhere in secret, probably in relation to Khushi. Where did he go? He also clearly lied to Anjali when she asked him about it ! 👀

"- Do you know how many times I tried to call you? Do you even …

-Why? Are you bothered if I leave?

-It does bother me ! I'm so worried !"

He's so suprised to see her that worried for him. His heart is so happy, he can't hide the satisfaction in his face, full of smiles. CUUUTIE !!

Khushi starts questioning him about his absence confessing she cares. He loves every second of that questioning session lol. He makes sure she repeats how worried she was. He got words, a confession, not what he has in mind, but it's enough to make him happy.

"Be careful Khushi, orselse, I'll think you're worried about me!"

Arnav is even more happy, she's behaving as if she was his girlfriend/wife. And he loves her openly claiming him.

"Why is everyone worried about me?"

Arnav is annoyed seing Khushi leaving, and the fact that they are yet again, missing the chance for them to speak about their relationship more, because of Anjali's entrance.

He makes sure to let her know with this sentence that he knows that indeed she's worry for him, worried like a girlfriend can be for the man she loves. He wants her to know that there is no turning back from that confession.

"At least I got to know how much I'll get missed."

There is no turning back indeed. Khushi claimed her man to the point of puting a A on her hand unconsciously LMAO !

Arnva is shocked and really touched to hear the phone message she left accidently.

"So she was also willing to admit she cares for me on the phone? She said it, without me trying to make her confess !! My precious Khushi ! I didn't just caught her being worried for me in secret, she wasn't trying to hide it , I need to talk to her, I can't miss that chance !"

" -So you called me?

-No …not at all, when?"

Arnav clearly heard her voicemail but here she is, still trying to deny she did. Arnav can't hide the smile on his face and the love in his eyes. He finds her so adorable !!!

"So you were worried"

"Khushi say it to my face, I want to hear it from you again! Tell me how much important I am to you! I know you said it because you thought something bad happen to me ! I want you to tell me you just care no matter what ! Then, I would ask you why, and you would've to answer, do it Khushi pleeeeease !! Let's hurry, and move to the next step already !"

Arnav's eyes lighten when he saw the A on Khushi hand! Another evidence after that voicemail that Khushi can't deny! This scene is one of my favs, ugh I love how he's teasing her !! My babies are so cuute !

But Khushi is too embarrassed to the point of trying to say that the voice in that voicemail isn't hers and the A as nothing to do with his name LOOOL GIIIIIIRL !!! 😂🤣😅

Arnav can't be mad at her ridiculous attempts to hide how much she cares, especially when her attempts are ridiculously so adorable haha. She's so cute, he wants to kiss her. And he will try soon hehe !

Khushi sense how annoyed Arnav is because of Nk ruining his attempt to make her confess.

From that moment, she'll use Nk to annoy Arnav. She can now see he doesn't like how Nk tries to flirt with her, how jealous he is !! 😏

At this point, the only thing Khushi doesn't know is how much he cares for her. She knows he likes her and desires her. But still can't dare to believe is in love with her as much as she is with him !

Khushi choose to use Nk because Arnav didn't give her any other choice. He didn't take pity on her when he knew how much embarrassed she was for having to face all those evidences of her feelings lol.

So she decides to play his "game", she uses the evidence she found out just now for her revenge. What evidence? HIS jealousy !

Khushi doesn't know Arnav is jealous not because he sees Nk as a credible rival but because it bothers him to see him steal her attention and most importantly, he reminds him of what he still couldn't achieve : make her smile.
