Iowa Speedway 2024

I bought arepas for the occasion; they were delicious. As I write this the race is ongoing, but 7pm is too late for a Sunday start and I don't like this race anymore anyway lol.

The racing was good--some tire scares; a lot of three-wide racing, especially for a short track; seemingly decent ability to pass and move up through the field (though admittedly I am basing this exclusively off of the 5's lightspeed march to the front after their lonely pit stop, so it may not be representative).

I really enjoyed watching KL in the first half of this race--I feel like there was something in his Wheaties because I felt like he was racing even more aggressively than usual, putting his car in places it did not seem like a car would fit. Racing for the lead with Blaney and others was cool; the aforementioned march from the rear was cool. It just sucks, because he obviously had a really good car, and his (competitive) race ended for something that wasn't even that boneheaded.

AND THEN KYBU GOT SMOTE TOO. ToT

So the second half of this race has been substantially less interesting for me.

I'm rooting for Blaney and have been rooting for Blaney, because he has SO much family here today.
