A/N: idky I've been busting out kissing hc but here we are... Anyways, The Witcher games are superior, I'm halfway through the books, and there's a reason I have a small Scoia'tael tattoo on the back of my neck! This one is my first attempt at a hc/drabble combo :D

❀ He’s actually a really romantic guy but… rough around the edges

❀ Super into poetry and reading and writing, and perhaps before his life crashed and burned he was even into theatre!

❀ He’s lived a very long time so far so he has an idea of what he’s doing ;)

❀ It started one day as a kiss on your knuckles

❀ Once that became comfortable, it became a kiss on your forehead

❀ Then your cheek

❀ Just little pecks that build up over time

He always smells like the forest after it’s rained. You’re not sure how he maintains that scent, but it’s one you come to recognize as him. Every time he leans in to kiss you, be it your forehead or your cheek, his scent wafts through your nose, intoxicating you.

This time, he doesn’t immediately pull away. He lets his nose caress your cheek, his lips lingering near enough to your skin that you can feel how deeply he inhales your own scent. His gloved fingers slide between your own cautiously, afraid the hunter in him will startle his precious doe if he moves too swiftly.

He turns his head slowly, the tips of your noses just touching. Your breath hitches as his free hand grazes against your waist, testing the waters. He’s an old elf, he has all the time in the world to explore you, your touch, your scent, your warmth…

You tilt your chin ever so slightly, your plush lips meeting his. He feels warm. He feels new and yet… comfortable. He inhales deeply again, pressing his lips further into yours before pulling away slightly to gaze into your eyes, each so full of mirth. The hand holding yours brings your clasped hands to his chest as he rests his forehead against yours. His good eye closes as he enjoys your presence and the quiet that is the forest. His grip tightens around your waist.

You find so much contentment in his scent alone. Perhaps he feels the same way towards you…

What is Iorveth afraid of?

iorveth headcanon; you're Geralt's adoptive daughter and have a birthday

well, you're almost 100 years old but for him you're a little child

he found you fighting for your life in a street arena

and decided to take you with him (well, he just saw magical necklace and wanted to show that Triss)

when Geralt had amnesia you were looking for him and finished up in Flotsam. you were in the wrong place at the wrong time so you met Iorveth by accident.

firstly he was surprised that you went here unnoticed by his guards.

well, you two are like grumpy x sunshine, enemies to friends to lovers ig

when Vesemir said that you're going to have a birthday party in Kaer Morhen you immediately thought about Iorveth

did they invite him?

yes. you were on a mission just like Iorveth so you two arrived at different times

everything was ready for you, as soon as you crossed the gate, happy Ciri ran out to you

"come with me, it's nice to see you"

you entered the main chamber and saw all of the witchers + some friends of you and Geralt

yup, Vernon Roche was there. You didn't know why Geralt invited him but you hoped that he wouldn't make troubles

and then you saw a red scarf

you greeted the witchers and sorcerers, all that while looking at the place where you saw the scarf

"hello (name), you didn't expect me here, do you?"

"well, to be honest, you are always near me"

"to be honest can you just shut up?" said Lambert

Keira, Triss and Yennefer in the same place at the same time... That can't end up good

of course Jaskier must have said something about Roche and Iorveth which make Vernon angry

Iorveth wasn't very comfortable because it was his first meeting with your, ekhem, "family", ekhem.

well, he found that Vesemir and Eskel share common ground with him

you mostly talked with Ciri, because you two really haven't seen each other for a while

while means sth like 10years?

the first person who started singing birthday songs was ofc Jaskier

all the time Ciri shoved Iorveth towards you "by accident".

Geralt was like a typical father. He stared at Iorveth when he tried to hug/kiss/do anything to you.

Lambert was kinda like an older brother who wants to kill anyone that touches her little sister but didn't show that as much as Geralt

Yennefer had enough with those mf

Triss was happy to see you but every Geralt x Yen scene makes her drink even more alcohol (she really wants to recover after her unrequited love)

Eskel had tried to talk with Iorveth before you arrived, but they both were stressed and awkward towards each other (Iorveth was too serious when Eskel tried to joke. He really wanted to make the best first impression but... But kinda failed. Well, even so, they became friends)

at the end of the day every one of you was exhausted

He would likely take home the gold. He has been an archer since he was a kid and had two hundred years of experience. He doesn't miss

Maybe being an elf helps him but that's more genetics than supernatural ability.

if your muse isn’t a skilled athlete, what sport(s) do they wish that they were able to play?

He would compete in Archery but enjoy watching most of the other sports except like handball, synchronized swimming and football. But he would be intrigued.

if they come from a fictional country or world, what might their opening ceremony uniform look like?

Lots of elvish influences. Greens and browns. He would probably want to dawn some leather bracers. Some leaf embroidery around the collar and maybe find a more interesting and pretty eyepatch.

what would their personal trading pin look like?

Some ivy to match the tattoo on his neck.

what would their social media presence be like throughout the games?

He doesn't understand social media at all. He would likely have no presence.

would they go viral on olympic tiktok? if so, what for?

If he went viral on tiktok it would be likely for the way he looked. The seriousness of him while performing. Stoic and mysterious.

what would your muse like or dislike about the olympic village?

He would probably hate feeling contained. He likes his freedom to do what he wants when he wants. Also if he had to share with a stranger absolutely not.

for the character ask game: Vernon Roche

i gotta think about this! thank you

first impression: i actually remember this pretty well because witcher 2 was my first exposure to the franchise. i think i felt pretty much what i was supposed to feel though; "this guy imprisoned me but seems more sensible than the goons he employs". i liked his matter-of-fact but clearly proud and protective attitude towards Ves and his putting the key on the table and walking away like 'surely Geralt will manage'.

impression now: i still like him! surprisingly, cdpr writes original characters with really commendable nuance. of course, if Iorveth is to be believed word for word, Roche is responsible for carrying out hate crimes (he doesn't deny the accusations Iorveth makes, so i think that's just fact), and yet he shows time and time again that he really is more sensible than most. compare him to Rayla - also a special forces leader - and see the difference. Roche lacks the outright bloodthirst or really even the prejudice; it seems to me that he does his job and obeys Foltest without objection because he sees it as doing something worthwhile with his life, considering how he grew up. he and Iorveth contrast and parallel each other in fascinating ways.

favorite thing about him: his relationship towards Ves, because he clearly values her as an employee and as a person. his relative level-headedness. and the unpacked daddy issues that are most definitely there even if he won't talk about it. that part of him is sadly the most relatable to me. i also enjoy his humor, whether intentional or not. "emhyr var emreis, spice merchant" bursting into the elven baths while Triss is trying her hardest to seduce Geralt, fucking comedy gold.

least favorite thing about him: apart from the hate crimes? i think most of my issues that relate to him are metatextual - because the entire political landscape and plotline of witcher 3 sucks ass. maybe he could've held back the cops that beat Geralt though ngl.

favorite line/scene: "And we did. For three days. Then they smashed us into splinters." again, as much as i dislike the politics in witcher 3, this bit stands out to me. maybe also because it's punctuated by a reprise of the second game's main theme, in 3's instrumentation and a much more somber mood. good scene. that and the funny bits. "Some professional you are..."

favorite interaction he has with another character: it should be mainly credited to Letho's absolutely hilarious one-liner, but their little reunion at Kaer Morhen always gets a chuckle out of me. the entire interrogation at the beginning of witcher 2 is up there too.

a character that i wish he would interact with more: in the second game, elves in general. he mostly proves he's not completely shit-headed in context, but it would've been interesting to see him have a conversation with someone like Cedric. third game should've had Iorveth, we all know that.

another character from another fandom that reminds me of him: i know 5 things, but if i had to make a comparison... general Tullius from Skyrim? both are very capable and dedicated servants of a government despite its obvious failures and both show a noticeable sensibility or even calm you perhaps wouldn't expect. both have a badass lady as their right-hand person, too.

a headcanon about him: he hates the smell of cheap alcohol. childhood reminder. i also think he has a notable appreciation for architecture. can't remember if he actually comments on Loc Muinne in any way but somehow it feels like a thing he'd do. and i think it's pretty much canon that his hair color is towards light brown? or have i been living with fanon for far too long. either way, yeah, dirty blonde or warm light brown, super short on the sides.

a song that reminds of him: Shadowplay by Joy Division, in a way. first verse about beginning to serve Foltest, second verse about Foltest's and Temeria's fall. "but i could only stare in disbelief as the crowds all left" versus "and we did, for three days, then they smashed us into splinters".

an unpopular opinion about him: i famously dislike shipping him with Iorveth and i'm actually yet to see a good Roche ship. but the real hot take is that he doesn't need one. did i just say aroace Vernon Roche? maybe.

favorite picture: i'm sorry, but it's gotta be this one. on a more serious note, i always liked this piece of fanart a lot too. he gets to be cool.

5. I do think that Find Me Naked In My Virgin Misery is quite funny. Geralt is pining, he's asking his friends for advice how to get it on with a man... and regardless the title, people seemed actually surprised with the plot. 😂

4. Die, Die My Darling is definitely one of my favorites, I think whenever somebody passes this game onto me, I mention it. We have assassination attempts on Emhyr, funny scribbles on Geralt's and Emhyr's wedding portrait, a crazy cat and Emhyr get's strangely hot at watching Geralt fight.

3. I was quite surprised that I'm Here To Burn Down The Past has received more than the usual 30 kudos, because not only is it once again set in my own headcanons (married Emhyr/Geralt, Triss as the court sorceress, my OC, etc.), it's a peculiar time travel story. I like it :)

2. Façade is for whatever reason a fic I really enjoyed writing. Maybe because it's a Modern AU, I really love those, they are fun. This one is Letho/Eskel.

1. More than 300 people liked this one: I've Been Wounded, I've Been Healed is a classic enemies-to-lovers, and whenever I re-read it, I'm still happy with it.

The worst thing about this is that I want to write.

I have so many ideas, and all my ships are rarepairs and small fandoms, which just makes me want to write for them more! But concentrating on putting words into an actual story is just fucking.

So hard. With health issues. So I'm sitting fantasing about the same five scenes, tortured into headcanons that I'm unable to put out into the world the way I want to.

I want to pick back up my RP. And write stuff for Roche and Iorveth. And don't even get me started about Sorcery.

People love the intimacy of the Analander taking off Flanker's mask and getting to see his face for the first time, and I get it! But what about the intimacy of the Analander putting the mask back on? Huh? Anyone think of that?

Like maybe they're alone, the mask is off, and then the door opens and before Flanker can move, the Analander has already clipped the veil back in place.

Or during a fight, Flanker is hurt, the veil has come unclipped, and the Analander says, "Leave this to me," before clipping the veil back in place and stepping between Flanker and the threat.

Sure, yeah, we all love the intimacy of trusting someone enough to take the mask off, but what about the intimacy of allowing someone their mask? Of putting it back in place because you know they feel more secure with it? Of letting your lover hide in your presence because you know the attention makes them uncomfortable? I'm distraught.

That, and I love the idea that Flanker wears eyeliner as a cultural thing, and it's one of those cultural things that's encouraged to be shared, and I desperately want to write a scene where he tries to teach the Analander to put on eyeliner, and then ends up just putting it on the Analander himself when the Analander's attempt turns out horrible.

I mean, have you ever tried putting eyeliner on your waterline? Terrifying.

Headcanon for Iorveth in all relationships: He’s very casual in affection but when it comes to public displays of affection it’s all or nothing- a brief “let me fix your hair” or “here’s the 800 carefully cultivated flowers I picked for you to forever decorate your home with- yes I do believe five minutes before you term the entire town about the need for a new well is the perfect time for this”

3 Good Things Going On In My Life Right Now:

1) I’m on vacation! Currently visiting a brand new country and having the time of my life

2) I recently commissioned art for the first time ever and now I have a beautiful new phone background.

3) I very very recently finished laying groundwork for some life plans that took a great deal of stress off my shoulders for the next two years! (The plans possibly include returning to school / a new job / going out and hiking for 5 months straight depending on which plans pull through first)

Did Iorveth and Roche in one because they belong together 😘 don’t ask me why I want everyone’s gender it’s complicated. Also you are forever my Iorveth stan, no matter how much I love him, he will always be blorbo in law with you having the adoption rights on him.

No strong opinions on Philippa, i love her design and power but I haven’t quite tapped into the character yet.

I love Astarion but I feel like Isa is more unhinged about him than I am. He and I share similar trauma and he will forever be ace in my Headcanons BLESS

hmm thinking i might add canon characters to my muse list too idk.... mainly cuz of rereading the series + the next gen update for w3 coming out soon.

like can someone pls give me my dream headcanon plots of either: 

the complexity of transitioning from dangerous monster hunting & political/magical scheming life to mundane civilian life in the land of blood love & wine ???  (preferably yen x geralt centric).

or a plot revolving around the results of removing two key players in novigrad’s underworld and how the “free” city fairs now with the newly formed breeding ground of the syndicate (from the gwent faction/expansion).

maybe even a plot that goes into what is left of the mage community and whether or not those who are left will rebuild the past (the ruined institution of aretuza) or carve out a new future (something similar to the elven state of dol blathanna but for mages ??)

orrr exploring more of the continent far south beyond nilfgaard to ofir that is only breifly mentioned in the hearts of stone expansion and the consequences of geralt’s actions in slaying the prince ???

heck even a deeper look into the life of the witcher schools maybe before/after the collapse of them all ?? either through the lens of key figures (geralt, eskel, lambert, gaetan, letho, ivar, erland, keldar, gezras, etc.)

a plot revolving the future of skellige ??? (either of the an craites as the ruler) and the potential turmoil that surrounds whether or not there will be a civil war between the clans of the isles or how members of the clans try to undermine the new ruler through politics or combat ??????

omg not the mention a plot involving the scoia'tael (which include all non-humans not just elves !!) and how they manage to keep the fight alive even through the warring northern kingdoms with nilfgaard (witcher 3 cut content with iorveth) ???

speaking of cut content ... a plot that includes the search for a cure to the catriona plague (involving keira, lambert, geralt, ciri, shani ????).

i have a few other crackpot/headcanon plot ideas i have floating around in my head but these are the ones i could write down into somewhat coherent sentences. if anyone wants to even attempt plotting or making a thread out of these i would owe you my life honestly LMAO

Him and Iorveth are some of my favorite characters in the games. I just find him so intriguing, the little war criminal that he is. Not really little, he’s just surrounded by tall people mostly. (Also if anyone wants to hear me ramble about my half-elf Roche headcanon/ideas…)

Sexuality Headcanon: Gay. Exclusively. But will sleep with women out of a twisted internal version of masculinity and duty.

Gender Headcanon: He's definitely thought about his gender more often than the average person but he's...like... he's busy... *he says while trying not to cry*

A ship I have with said character: besides the obvious? I do like the idea of him with Iorveth in a very limited context or various OCs I've made for him.

A BROTP I have with said character: Triss! I think they could do a totally platonic life partner thing. They're both damaged in very similar ways, both scarred in very similar ways, both self sacrificing and obsessive and carers to the complete sublimation of themselves. They both deserve someone who will hold them in the night when they wake screaming and not leave them and I think they could be that for each other if nothing else.

I also want to explore him and Gaetan as buddies more.

A NOTP I have with said character: ...Triss

A random headcanon: he bites his nails (until they bleed).

General Opinion over said character: he makes me want to chew my arm off uwu (but like... in a good way)

I'm gonna say "Embrace of the Night" by @definitely-not-iorveth. It puts the usual Vernon Roche/Iorveth romance into a very twisted setting with Vampires, Werewolves and other supernatural stuff, and it is a lot of fun!
