ok so this is probs gonna be a long ass post so... TLDR: I've bought FNV for pc and its incredible as expected.

Ok, so everyone reading this is likely ready to read the ramblings of a madman who ranks Bethesda's brink in his top 5 games of all time. So just having bought a pc over Christmas I've been slowly building up a game library and, with it going on sale, i decided to buy Fallout New Vegas. Since i first played it ive never lost that love and awe for NV, and despite its many flaws (whether that's from the creation engine, the shit tone of invisible walls or rushed DLC's being a linear walking sim with way to much overwritten yet hard AF lines) it is my favourite game of all time.

Now whilst it took me about 2 hours to figure out how to install mods (seriously i study and excel at computer science/programing and yet I've been humbled) I immediately installed texture overhauls and invisible wall removers, the amount of fun I'm having is incredible. seriously its amazing how far dynamic lighting and better sky qualities go.

the invisible wall removers i got for one reason and one reason a lone, boundary breaking, the area surrounding the map is probably my favorite area, especially one bit, a little area no one talks about I call the watering hole. basically in the southern east area of the out-bounds that cant be reached, it is invisible in the regular area due to a canyon and cant even be reached even out of bounds due to it being enclosed by invisible walls. but now, for the first time in about 8 years (since i first played the game), i can go swimming in the watering hole. honestly i don't know why i love that pond so much. now if you excuse me I've got some walking and swimming to do

the above example, if recreated in SM64, would be vulnerable to Type 4 invisible walls (floor gap due to misaligned edge vertex). if the relevant triangle were not subdivided correctly, it would simply transform into a Type 5 invisible wall (floor gap due to misaligned vertices), which was the case in many scenarios in the game.

the best solution appears to be to simply cause a small overlap of the edge and the edge vertex, but of course this solution is vulnerable to a Type 8 invisible wall (overshadowed floor) if the leading vertex of the overlapping triangle is lower than that of the overlapped triangle and if there is a ceiling triangle between them. if you are sure that the leading vertices are well-ordered or that there is no ceiling between them, this option is viable; otherwise, OP is correct and the best solution is to subdivide the edge triangle, taking care to align the new vertices with the existing ones.

pannenkoek's explanation video of SM64's invisible walls is interesting because from the perspective of someone with a background in gamedev it seems like the random invisible wall bug of SM64 only occurs because the game was made before certain practices in 3D game development were standardized.

To try and summarize the problem as briefly as possible, the bug occurs in places where there's a gap in level geometry, and gaps occur because the positions of polygon points are truncated. This only causes an issue if your geometry has T-vertexes, which is a big no-no in modern 3D modeling, and can easily be solved by sub-dividing a few polygons.

Below is an example I found online of a T-vertex that needs to be solved (since explaining what they are takes too many words)

In this example, you can fix the T-vertex by turning that triangle into two triangles.

To put it into perspective, if your 3D models have T-vertexes in the modern era some 3D modeling software won't let you render them without flashing a warning to fix it first.

This isn't an issue of technical limitations on SM64's part. Solving the issue would require creating more polygons but not nearly enough to affect performance by any means. This is a case of 3D modeling being such an early pursuit that no one knew what not to do yet.

Core Gems

So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they can’t hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.

Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realize…they are in some kind of auction…in the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And they…they were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.

Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.

However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.

In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who was…hold on…holding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghosts’ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.

Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.

The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someone’s interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.

Bruce had no idea what happened at the auction, but he could have sworn that some of the gems faintly glowed right before he and Selina were shot. If the necklace was some sort of magical item, then he needed to understand exactly what has been brought to Gotham. It was unfortunate that Selena had taken some parts of the necklace but he utilized his vast wealth to make sure all the other parts ended in his possession. Now he would take them back to the mansion for examination.

Danny is just a kid ya know? Like he is just a little guy. A baby really. 14? Tiny child! Look at him, he needs to be protected. Someone has to help this poor little dude. I mean he forgets to use his own powers to avoid attacks all the time.

Anyway cut to Batfam not knowing all of Dannys power set cause the lil dingus keeps forgetting he can do that stuff in the heat of battle.

Danny uses his invisibility all the time… to avoid being followed. But in a fight? Oopsies hes too busy thinking of funny one liners to realise he could do that.

Intangibility? Give the guy a break. I mean who calls themselves condiment king. Even he was stunned.

He so rarely actually uses his biggest advantage powers that the League doubt he actually has them. He, like any naive child, trusts them and reported fully on his power set. Instead of just asking him to demonstrate his powers they instead start watching him and try to find evidence of his powers.

At least they know duplication was true since they watched him make a copy of himself to go to the bathroom and not miss any of his fav tv show.

Something I wanted to share about my feelings with therianthropy...

I am a dog.

I don't like dogs, I don't like being around real life dogs that much, they kinda tend to annoy me most of the time. I don't really feel myself having any affinity for dogs in general, even fictional dogs are just sort of "okay" to me. There are some cartoon dogs I can think "yeah he's cool or chill" but it doesn't really go any further than that.

I dont even see myself in dogs, but I see myself AS A DOG.

And I've never been able to change this.

I prefer cats, I feel more affinity for cats, I communicate better with them IRL, I've lived with cats all my life (my family never had dogs as pets) and in general I think cats are aesthetically more pleasing to look at than dogs, not that that's the dog's fault or anything.

I wish I could be a cat sometimes, I even tried to call myself a cat, draw myself as a cat, mimic cat behaviour, all that stuff where you try it on and see if it fits, makes you feel comfortable...

But I still feel like I'm a dog.

I've talked about this occasionally with friends and in some furry fandom spaces, which all of them said about the same thing. "Well why don't you just BE a cat then?"

To which my answer, with sadness and longing, is only "I don't know."

Thoughts on Starop? It felt vaguely like Shockblurr with a twist.

Honestly? I have hard time shipping anyone with Optimus. Specifically when he is Optimus Prime, not Orion.

He is like something subleme that happened to be in the ground body. Others use his name like he is a legend. Of course, he has his flaws, but others still look up to him. And every time I see ships with him, they feel more like "he has a crash on handsome god", "he met a mighty being who showed him what the world could be and he is in awe", I can't grasp a proper ground at where it could be romantic since it never feels equal.

Amicas with someone? Yes please, I can see it. Conjunx? Eh... unless I am prowen wrong. I can see if it comes from his Orion times, like with Senator Shockwave. Transformers Prime Optimus and Ratchet feel very equal, yes that I can see ahah. Actually any Ratchet version is a bulldozer who can stand on the same ground with Megatron and Optimus.

Anyway, can't quite see the chemicals of Starop in my head XDD

type 1- wild shape, you can turn into any animal, real or fictional

type 2- mystique, you can turn into any real person

type 3- cosplay, you can turn into any humanoid fictional character

type 4- jake the dog, you’re super stretchy

type 5- character creator, you can alter your own appearance- like changing voice hair length texture color, changing height and weight, transing gender, etc, but you can’t add anything non-human (ie horns, wings, claws, etc)

type 6- additional features, you can add things like snake eyes, horns, cat ears, tail, claws, wings, mermaid tail, but you remain humanoid overall and can’t change things like height or gender presentation or hair color. you can still change your voice tho

type 7- were-wolf, we all know what a werewolf is, lads. can be any kind of animal. can be straight up wolf or more monstrous wolf form that’s up to you.

type 8- furry, you just become your fursona. or any kind of fursona really you can change between them

type 9- antman, can become small or big

type 10- other, say what kind ya want
