$200k is Halfway to $1 Million
If you are invested in the stock market, you are probably closer to $1 million than you realise. If you’ve ever taken a walk, you can probably guess where you’ll be after 30 steps. It’s a simple linear progression, something you’ve done countless times. But what if you took 30 exponential steps? That means doubling the size of your step each time. So, your first step is one meter, your second…

one scene i cannot get over in System Collapse is murderbot and ART, both barely functional, staggering their way onto the shuttle to leave the 2nd colony. MB getting ART-drone strapped into a seat, worried about how damaged it is. doesn't even notice Iris getting it strapped into its own seat (as she worries about how damaged it is). MB and ART-drone, their humans' first and last lines of defense, destroyers of hostile secunits, sniping back and forth as they try to keep each other from shutting down. their humans, once again just barely Not Dead, looking after their extremely badass and very nerfed defenders. at least 15% of my brain capacity is dedicated to this scene at all times

So how did we end up abroad? The two week holiday was planned a while back with Tomarang being their perfect place to visit. Jayleen's dad is of Filipino descent (while her mum is of Hawaiian) but she has never visited before! The morning after arrival, Robbie woke up with a lot on his mind and was struggling to push his thoughts aside. Jayleen knew he was thinking about work, so she wanted to cheer him up with a kiss. Even though Robbie was embarrassed by the attention, it did bring a smile to his face 😊

Always a bit puzzled by people saying that anyone who wanted long-term consequences for TotK Zelda's sacrifice are "edgy".
I'm not even particularly in the camp that she should have remained a dragon forever (I think this should have been Ganondorf's fate, it would have been sooo much more impactful than to explode him and move on but anyway). To be honest, I wish the rules for turning back would have been 1) clear 2) active gameplay on the player so that it feels like it's something we have earned, and 3) not make her have amnesia about it and/or at least having her gain some crucial insight because of the experience.
(also: doesn't she crave knowledge? isn't that insanely mean to have her watch over every civilization and every bit of history ever and then take it away from her? kind of dislike how totk privileges the comfort of the player's feelings over what the characters would actually want or need tbh)
To be perfectly honest, I fully expected us needing to turn her back before engaging Ganondorf so we would fight him together, especially since Zelda as a compagnon exists in the game code already (though in a very subdued state). It feels very very strange to me that all of this mechanic of Sages following us existing and yet we never have the very climactic cool Zelda-staple moment of facing Ganondorf or Ganon together (OoT, WW, TP, ST and probably more that I'm forgetting all did this in some way --even BotW had Zelda more involved than in TotK). I'm not sure Mineru was a compagnon that was needed over Zelda honestly, especially given the kind of non-insight she gives us on the zonai (even if the idea of the mecha is cool, it really could have been Zelda using her zonai + sheikah knowledge to pilot one for us or something).
But anyway: yeah, even if this isn't what I would have wanted personally, I think wanting Zelda to remain a dragon is kind of arguably more respectful of her relationship to Link, in a way, that what the game ended up doing. When she enacted this sacrifice, Zelda decided to trust him to such a extent that she lost herself, reciprocated his trust in her and his devotion to her, and now the future of Hyrule exists beyond her and beyond what Hyrule once was, but she trusts them to follow through and be happy and she will watch over them from the stars moving on. It's fine if we manage to save her from that fate, but even if we don't, honestly this sounds like a beautiful story/tragic romance to me, if you want to read it that way. Tragedy doesn't necesserily involve edginess. Fictional pain isn't always mean, or out to get you.

Steps to Optimize Your Wealth with Portfolio Management Services
Tumblr media
Permanent wealth creation involves something more than mere saving and sometimes investing. Portfolio Management Services is the sophisticated process in building wealth which uses deep knowledge with a personalized approach towards achieving a client's financial goals.
Portfolio Management Services: The Basis to Strategic Investment
Portfolio Management Services are investment portfolio management services offered by qualified fund managers who take up all of the investor's investment choices. PMS is very different from mutual funds in that it offers very personalized investment strategies which are aligned with specific risk profiles and financial objectives. Portfolio management is particularly useful to high net-worth individuals who need professional, customized wealth management services.
Important Benefits of Professional Portfolio Management
1. Decision Making on an Expertise-Based Model
The best portfolio management services leverage deep market knowledge and research capabilities. Professional managers constantly monitor market trends, analyze economic indicators, and adjust investment strategies accordingly. This level-headed, research-based approach helps avoid emotional decision-making—a common pitfall for individual investors.
2. Risk Management and Diversification
Portfolio managers use advanced risk management techniques to protect and grow wealth. To construct strong portfolios that can weather market fluctuations and pursue growth opportunities, they carefully allocate assets by industry, market capitalization, and investment vehicle.
3. Effective Time Management of Wealth
Busy professionals and business entrepreneurs may find it too cumbersome to handle complex financial portfolios. Through portfolio management services, clients can concentrate on their core business without worrying about their assets as a company takes care of all the mundane jobs, from research, analysis, implementation, and monitoring.
How to Optimize Your Portfolio Management Journey
Step 1: Establish Clear Financial Goals
Prior to investing in Portfolio Management Services, define clear and measurable financial goals. Portfolio Managers create specific plans for certain goals like aggressive development, retirement planning, and wealth preservation.
Step 2: Determine Your Risk Tolerance
It takes familiarity with personal risk tolerance in order to manage an investment portfolio successfully. Professional managers conduct comprehensive risk assessments to ensure that the approach aligned with comfort levels matches the investment strategies while tracking long-term goals.
Step 3: Select the Right Service Provider
Comparing track records, investment philosophies, and service offerings is important in choosing the best portfolio management services. The following should be considered:
Historical performance across market cycles
Transparency in reporting and communication
Fee structures and minimum investment requirements
Quality of research and analysis capabilities
Step 4: Periodic Portfolio Review and Rebalancing
Periodic review and rebalancing form the backbone of efficient investment portfolio management. Professional managers continuously monitor their portfolios and rebalance with strategic intent so that they have the best asset allocation and capitalize on available market opportunities.
Sophisticated Strategies in Portfolio Management
Tax-Efficient Investing
Portfolio Management Services can employ tax-efficient strategies to maximize after-tax returns. Some common strategies include tax-loss harvesting, strategic asset location, and thoughtful consideration of holding periods.
Alternative Investment Integration
Alternative investments—private equity, real estate, or structured products, for example, of which a retail investor is generally barred from investing—may also be available through top Portfolio Management Services providers, thus allowing possible improvements in both diversification and returns.
ESG Integration
Most contemporary portfolio management approaches include ESG factors so that investors can exercise their personal values by making investment decisions that resonate with them while simultaneously seeking financial returns.
Switching to Professional Management
Hiring Portfolio Management Services is the major step in professional wealth management. First, meetings with a list of short-listed potential service providers should be scheduled to discuss approaches to investments, fee structures, and protocols on communication to determine whether these would align well with investor needs and service offerings.
Conclusion
Professional portfolio management services are a professional and specialized offering for investment strategy, market expertise, and personal service focused on the particular financial requirements of each client. It will make for smooth sailing in very intricate financial markets and working towards the desired long-term financial success.

thinking about the fragment of mythal's spirit finding flemeth. 'she was betrayed as I was betrayed'. morrigan confirming the version of flemeth's history that saw her living in poverty, sold by her husband to a lord who desired her. the parallels to the warden city elf origin. morrigan telling us it's easy to imagine how flemeth and mythal related to one another. 'betrayed by those sworn to love her'. mythals murder at the hands of her fellow gods, the figures that were her husband and children in dalish legends. 'mens hearts hold shadows darker than any tainted creature'. mythal being a fragment of who she was, split from herself, lost, and she 'clawed and crawled her way through the ages' to a woman betrayed and wounded and left for dead locked in the dark.
thinking about what that moment might've been like for both of them. flemeth lifting her head to a spirit reaching out to her. the fragment of mythal finding a place to rest in a soul that resonated with her. 'your grief must come later... in the dark shadows before you take vengeance, as my mother once said'. did flemeth mean mythal, when she spoke of her mother? was that something mythal said to flemeth in the moments before they became one? 'duty must come now'. duty to the world? flemeth carried mythal through the ages, nudging history when required, aiding and preparing the world for a reckoning she knew would come. 'considering what the world has done to me, I have already done more than it deserves'. the moments in history that could be read as mythal attempting to mend a world she helped to break, and wanting to protect the world that formed from what was broken from being destroyed all over again. she couldn't have done that without flemeth, who had no hand in breaking the world to begin with.
'i am but an old woman, whom the world has largely forgotten'. thedas as we know it wouldn't be there without flemeth. she was murdered, and solas painted her as an elf because he saw her as no more than a vessel for his oldest friend, and refused to acknowledge that he was murdering her too, because she was just a fragment. they'd lived for centuries as one person. kieran mentions that he feels lonely without the old god soul. it must've been lonely, watching and guiding the world as she did. maybe she doesn't hide that shes an old woman because of how the years might've weighed on her. 'regret is something I know well'. mythals regrets are never spoken of, because we never get the chance to hear them. would one of them have been burdening a mortal in such a way? or is that not something she could regret, because of how she came to her in the first place?
'regret that she would never see me again'. maybe it is a little jarring for players to hear morrigan speak of flemeth without all the vitriol we've come to expect. to hear something like sadness when we know what their relationship is like. but we saw flemeth's face when morrigan told her that she would not be like her, in her instant defence of kieran. it's been ten years since morrigan absorbed flemeth and mythals combined memories. she knows everything she's done and everything she's suffered, and how she might've felt about it all. all those regrets. sometimes we don't have to forgive the people who've hurt us to understand them. sometimes we love them despite it all.
#flemeth#mythal#morrigan#dragon age meta#dragon age: the veilguard#thinking back to so many things flemeth said in the previous games and now theres just an extra. Oof#this started mostly as thinking about flemeth and mythal and then ended up with more morrigan than i expected but#those three are intertwined so it works#i just. love flemeth okay#and theres something so facinating about her relationship with mythal#about the way she interacts with the elves as they are now with all the knowledge of who they were#flemeth was a mortal woman saved from a terrible fate and the price was carrying a god through the ages#and she lost sight of some things because of that and made mistakes of her own (morrigan)#'alas so long as the music plays we dance'. was she tired by the end of it all. would she have changed things if she'd known#i dont think she would have. not meaning the stuff with morrigan but. 'i would see her avenged'#can you love something thats a piece of you and yet isnt and changed you so much? that was changed by you in return?#that grew wiser and more invested in the world through living through you? that was changed so much that it condemned you both#when her oldest friend looked at you and saw a stranger?#your daughter that hated you knows the whole sum of who you are now. and yet speaks of your loss with sadness#maybe theres a point to be made about self love there somewhere#aNYWAYS#one day ill write something where flemeths alive and she and mythal have an actual conversation because theres so much THERE#that the game just. didnt think was important

Last night, I got hit with a really bad insomnia, and to help myself with it, I tried writing... and I wrote some Skeptunist, of course I did. I'm not really a writer, but I like the way I wrote parts of it. So sure, it can live here :]
This is a prelude to my "It was in your nature" comic from a couple days ago, written from Skeptic's POV, still a bit OOC, still part of this random betrayal AU. Also, "the card game night" refers to this fic that inspired the comic and, subsequently, this writing exercise.
Anyways, hope you enjoy!
_________________________________________
Skeptic made a huge mistake, and he knew it.
What was he thinking? Why did he corner Opportunist like that and try to force him to open up on the spot? Of course, it did not work. It was a stupid idea-
Skeptic sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. He wanted to blame Smitten for erroneous advice, but deep down, he knew it was his fault. Smitten merely suggested that Opportunist might want to be closer to people, to open up to someone. He was the one who made that entire plan. He pushed Opportunist too far out of his comfort zone. He let the emotions get in the way. Skeptic wasn't used to this; normally, he was the rational, level-headed voice, the one who used logic to let everything fall into place.
But not then, not on that treacherous card game night. Not when he needed to exercise most caution, when he was investigating and dealing with someone so tricky and so…
…weirdly fragile?
Another sigh. Skeptic buried his face in his left hand, the claws lightly scratching his temples. He knew he needed to stop, none of these thoughts or feelings were helpful. All he could do now, Skeptic thought, was wait and observe.
And so the days went on; Opportunist barely acknowledged Skeptic's presence, acting just polite and cheery enough so that other voices wouldn't get suspicious, but nothing beyond that. Skeptic had no choice but to follow along: he knew any attempts to talk first would only cause the sly voice to retreat further. He expected this to be the case for a long while-
Until one day, Opportunist walked up to Skeptic as though nothing happened.
At first glance, it almost looked like everything came back to the way it was before the card game night. Opportunist, bright-smiled as always, gave Skeptic sugary compliments, did small favors for him, spoke with him sweetly and softly. It almost looked like it all worked out, like Opportunist chose to, in the end, trust him again…
…but Skeptic knew Opportunist and his habits too well to believe this carefully crafted lie.
The smiles were just a little too forced, little wrinkles giving away the facade. The compliments were just a little too sweet, too exaggerated for how Opportunist normally does it. The favors were done just a little too eagerly, as though Opportunist kept forcing himself to do them to keep appearances. The sugary sweet tone of Opportunist's voice had a slight bitter edge to it. The bright orange eyes lacked that little spark when their eyes met, something that Skeptic didn't notice until it was gone.
Skeptic never thought that knowing too much could hurt.
Logically, he knew exactly where this was all leading to. Skeptic was in this strange tango with Opportunist, after all, and everyone knew how Opportunist acted when threatened. It was only a matter of time, and Skeptic knew it.
And yet he willingly stepped into the trap.
Why did he have to fall for the backstabber?

Hearing that Chris Evans is coming back to the mcu is really making me anticipate a similar announcement coming for Scarlett Johansson sooner or later purely bc I’m sure 6/6 ogs returning would be better than 5/6 and she’s the last one left to not either be still active in the mcu or have a return announced
* Also I’d be kinda pissed if they brought all the other ogs back for this movie and left her out bc they kinda have a tendency to leave out ‘the girl’ sometimes (still not over the fact that they used the soul stone plotline to chuck their two most important female characters/*the* female members of their two main teams off a cliff) (tho at least we got to see the guardians mourning gamora for more than two seconds)
