50 people have done this on Ravelry, and it’s rated a 4 out of 10 for difficulty (so, advanced beginner, probably),

What I need to be doing: continuing these sleeves or perhaps going the f**k to sleep.
What I do NOT need to be doing: looking at new patterns and thinking what yarn might go well with them.
Guess what I’m doing. Guess. 😅
#kiki shouts into the void#in my defense!!#i saw a cute tee pattern that would be PERFECT for summer#and the yarn colors this season are so pretty#but also i need to finish this sweater!!#and i have placed a yarn buying moratorium on myself until i start getting paid again in sept#so#stash projects it is#but still#dreaming and planning never hurt right#i am still placing that pattern in my ravelry queue tho

okay last post before i decide on what im going to do for the next couple hours but old lady crafting club is tomorrow and i don't have a crochet project decided on yet still fsdjkl
my options for continuing on WIPs are: dragonscale dice bag, isopod amigurumi, or a little stuffed pokeball
or if i want to start a new project instead of completing a WIP: strawberry hat i'm going to make for a friend, hand warmers/fingerless gloves, polar bear amigurumi, and idk if i have yarn for these (definitely not enough for a the second) but i also would like to make a junebug beetle amigurumi and a hood/scarf/hat combo garment thing
#i have a whole pinterest board full of ideas and i think a couple ideas in my ravelry queue but fsdjkl#these are what im feeling like making rn i think#they've got my interest at least fdsjkl#but AUGHHH its so hard to choose what to work on fsdkjl#the dice bag is going to be difficult bc i cannot remember how to do the crocodile stitch and it was hard to figure out#and the isopod is just... so difficult to work on sdjkl i have two more shell plates to do before i can work on smth a little easier w it#and the pokeball ... idk why i dont wanna work on that but i dont LMAO#i could easily frog it all the way back tbh i only put in like a half hour or smth on it so far#okay i am RAMBLING so much rn good lord sorry djskfl i'm going to draw or play stardew fdjskl#dandy.cmd#HEY i should probably make an ''off topic'' tag for stuff that is like... not directly related to selfshipping maybe LMAO#i'll implement that tomorrow perhaps fdsjkl i try not to post unrelated things too much but. sometimes a man's gotta ramble FDSJKL

Do you look for knitting patterns? I would love to see what you plan to knit in the future. I want to make a light pink april cardigan with a matching camisole for summer. 🩷
All the time!! I use ravelry to favorite patterns I want to knit. I love the idea of a matching light pink set. You can check out my ravelry queue here :) I also plan to knit a Lana vest by Irene Lim but that's not in my queue yet

Hey, welcome to knitblr. In re loss of reddit-style forum discussions: there used to be a pretty robust reddit knitters group on ravelry. The whole accessibility fuckery rav pulled a few years ago pretty much killed it and most of the active members moved to discord I believe (I just came back here and started shouting into the void). In its heyday the rav group wasn't highly promoted on r/knitting because people tended to share more personal info on rav. Anyway, the group still exists, so reviving it could be an option for more in-depth discussions. However, as far as I'm aware ravelry never did fix the graphical design that was causing issues for people, so I'm not sure about recommending it as a refuge. Just wanted to put that out there.
oh thats some great insight! I barely have a rav account just for a couple patterns (I'm a slow knitter still, can only get the right tension when I throw yarn) and had no idea about the forum/group section there. however with the accessibility issues I don't think it's a great choice to fall back on :(
I generally like to stick to one or two spots online if I can get away with it, right now they are tumblr and discord. I joined the discord linked in r/knitting! are you in that old rav group discord, and do you have a link?
for me the problem with discord is its so much more difficult to be active in them. I don't always wanna hop in whatever random convo is happening. also, I think they improved it a bit but last I heard their apps don't work great with screen readers which is one of the key accessibility features. tumblr I can shout in the void whenever and the queue is great for sideblogs like this.
ultimately whatever happens with whatever website people will keep crafting and sharing about it :) if it turns out people would rather use avenues other than tumblr for like, discussions/help asks specifically I think I will make this blog just my casual knit themed one :)

Knitting Adventures: Two MissMarple Scarves by SusanneS-vV
Knitting Adventures: Two MissMarple Scarves by SusanneS-vV
This pattern was in my Favourites (and Queue) over on Ravelry for a long, long time. When i had some left over yarn from my Knitting Adventures: Cabled Cardigan by Lana Grossa, i thought this will be a perfect set together (with my Knitting Adventures: Subtle Diamonds-Headband (Free Pattern) as well). My yarn was slightly bigger than the yarn used in the original pattern, but it worked out…

2023 yarncrafting
The first week of 2023 is nearly over and now is the time to start going through all my yarncrafting plans for 2023. To look through my ravelry queue and remove the projects that I no longer want to make. Go through my pintrest boards adding projects I have pinned to my raverly. I am thinking of making another crochet blanket but not yet decided on the pattern I want to make. I am also learning to knit so I have started collecting knitting patterns to help take me from absolute beginner to intermediate. My second knitting project is coming along nicely and my yarn stash is organized.

About
Hiya.
I’ve been knitting for about 12 years now, though I’ve been filling a lot more of my time with knitting lately than at the start.
You can check out my ravelry (has most of my finished projects) here.
I don’t really mix tumblr & other socials, but if you want to see my other blogs check out the sidebar or blog description. (The gaming blog has been hibernating...)
I’m also teaching myself dyeing, so I’ll include some of those experiments here and there.

Oh, these are amazing! I might just have to buy the book!
Or maybe just the pattern https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nattugla--night-owl-mittens
Only took me like 4 months to almost finish the other mitten.
The night owl mittens are almost done. 1 thumb left. I didn't bring the book with the pattern to my parents so I can't remember how I do the thumb so waiting for the Nerf Herder to send me a picture and I'll finish them tomorrow.
In the mean time, I duplicate stitched the eyes and a W on the thumb for the recipient who has gone by "Wol" for 35 years.

Hi! Idk if you addressed this in another post, but did you block each section of your cardigan as it was made, or did you block it as a whole piece? Either way, it turned out lovely! Love the barbie pink!!
Hello!! And thank you! 💖 I have not talked abt this before, but it is a good question!
The Barbie Sweater is thankfully knit seamlessly, so blocking was done as a whole piece p much immediately after it came off the needles (I did weave in my ends before blocking tho, which I know some ppl warn against. Imho that only matters if you are planning to unravel it, and I was p set on this size and did not foresee that happening!). After it was blocked, then I sewed the buttons on, to make sure they would fall in the correct place.
Tbh I have not made a truly seamed sweater yet, altho I have a few in my ravelry queue. I think traditional wisdom says to block each individual piece before seaming together, then block again after it is all sewn together (but not 100% sure on that).
I hope this helps!! Thank you for the ask!! 💖

one cute thing i love about ravelry is that when you add a knit/crochet/etc pattern to your queue, one of the optional fields is who you plan to make the thing for. like. we know your ass has enough knit socks and these can't possibly be for you. we know you have a big heart and you're making these for someone else. tell us who it is, it's important to us
(related i found the CUTEST cat socks pattern so ik what i'm making my sister for xmas)
#danger thighs#i was just looking for stranded colorwork crew sock patterns and now i'm gonna make some WACKY colored cats

One of my planned projects for this year, now in a handy post so I can find it easily (my ravelry account has a few hundred things in the queue. It doesn't work as a very good queue).
