Mike comes out  to El , Mileven breaks up for good, and the future of byler (s4 theory)

*this is based off the stranger things movie inspirations they listed on twitter , in the show, or in interviews/other outside materials. All movies mentioned have been said to be inspo for the show.

So I’ll be mentioning mostly the movies- sw*ngers, what women want, wet hot american summer and splash (and others). Along with Tootsie -which was shown in s4 bts.

Before I give a rough outline of what may happen. I have to specify I don’t think El will be “heartbroken” over mileven cause I don’t think she loves Mike romantically . I’ve already discussed why i think she doesn’t love him romantically at nauseam - but regardless  mileven brings out the worst in  El and Mike. And literally inhibits her character growth. So as an El fan- I’m super excited for mileven to be put to rest. SORRY.  I’ll trade El & Kali teaming up to get closure from their ab*ser ...over mileven any day of the week XD. 

I think Mileven broke up in s3 (and remained broken up) . But we’ll have more closure and a more official breakup in s4  when Mike visits the byers. (And Mike admits he’s gay to his ex )- before byler officially begins. Essentially, I think- Mileven broke up, but El still calls constantly .And Mike starts ignoring her calls so El demands an explanation and he admits to her he’s gay and doesn’t want to get back together. 

So first lets talk about Phone calls 

I think based off the movies and s3 we’ll see El call quite a bit in s4 (almost obsessively) . And Mike has had enough. In s3, he said he’ll call so often -she’ll have to turn her walkie off . But I believe it’ll be the opposite-with El calling so much he’ll turn it off.

We see foreshadowing for this in s3 when Mike hangs up the phone after saying “El ? no, sorry, not interested.” Or when he hangs up on her multiple other times that season ( he even technically hung up the walkie on her in s2 , as well ). But, in defense of El,  given her lack of socialization (and seeing mike call her constantly between s1-2 I wouldn’t be surprised if she thought this was the norm).

-In splash there’s a scene similar to s3 - a blond relative picks up another phone to eavesdrop on him talking to his gf. He yells at the blonde relative and when the gf asks if he loves her -he tries to dodge the question. But they break up and he admits to his relative he never loved her. Maybe confessing to Karen?

* This reminds me of that supposed rumor with El saying “I love you” and Mike not into El just saying “I know” in return.Or Mike in s3 saying quickly “i miss you-bye.” And immediately hanging up on her.

-some other aspects of the s3 breakup may be taken from  “pineapple express .Which had comedic breakups via phone  . When broken-up he says  “I love you “ and she says it back to him (like mileven). He IMMEDIATELY  says he takes it back and  “I made a mistake” (when he sees she took him seriously). And then he specifies that’s it’s because she’s must be too “  naive and immature” to willing to take him back after how horrible of a bf he was to her in the past. Which yeah -fits mileven: they said the ‘L word’ when broken up, Mike did immediately try to take it back , and he may have realized at the s3 finalie how naive el was -to still want him back despite him not being a good bf to her. In ‘p.i’ the girl’s mom even says  maybe it’s best she find someone new who actually appreciated her or ‘better yet just be single’ and hang out with her gal pals (lol if joyce gave this advice to El-that’d be great)!  El doesn’t need romance to be her own-happy person! Also in ‘p.i’ Dale + his male bff are always assumed to be gay for eachother as a running gag .So ... I’ll technically throw that as another byler hint- lol.

-In sw*ngers Michael (yes that’s his name) who is made fun of for being perceived as gay gets a call from his ex gf of 6 months). And he hangs up on her to talk to his other love interest who asks if he wants to see her. Michael (specifically hangs up on his ex as she says “I lo-” to talk to this new love interest. He later brags to his friend (at a dinner) about not calling her back (despite her wanting to get back together) and he says proudly she was “always his ex”- when his friend incorrectly calls her his “gf” . 

  -While in ‘what women want’- an ex gf goes to him cause he didn’t answer her calls. In ‘tootsie’ the gf does the same and is pissed that her bf Michael (yes, yet another michael) didn’t answer her calls for a week. And he LIES saying his answering machine was broken. Would not be surprised if mike made up such an excuse.

Similar to ‘tootise’  & in ‘what women want’-both gals who’s phone calls were ignored ask if their bf (in mileven’s case -ex bf ) is gay. And in ‘swingers’ someone makes fun of mike for being gay. too  Lol-i’m sorry 2 movies where a guy named Mike is called out for being gay /and 2 movies where a gf who’s phone calls are ignored asks is they’re bf is gay is suspish XD

In ‘tootsie’.  We also have movie-mike give her a present before she asks if he’s gay /they breakup -it echos what previously happened in s3. 

- Michael (from the film) despite not want to be with her anymore (and loving someone else) tries giving her a gift to patch things up - despite his lying/ignoring her. The gift /empty gesture annoys her. Which is similar to st- mike not apologizing for lying- but trying to give El a gift to make up with her (but he doesn’t even do as much as film-Mike).

Right after this is when she asks if he’s gay (aka so for mileven we have the gift scene for s3  & El asking if he’s gay in s4-which were both borrowed from ‘tootsie’).

In ‘tootsie’, she finds romantic letters Michael has from another guy and this causes her to ask him if he’s gay .(20+ movies have romantic letters). In ‘littlewomen’ the artist gal and her future husband (who used to have a crush on the painter’s sis) exchange letters.And in ‘wet hot american summer’- a guy ditched his friends to write a letter (and his friends make a gay joke about him because of his letter writing-not knowing he’s actually gay.  

In ‘what women want’ when confronted- he admits he’s gay to his ex gf. In ‘tootsie’ she asks if he’s gay and he avoids the question but after she demands that he be “truthful for once in your life”. And, we all know how Mike constantly “lied” to EL .michael finally says he’ll stop lying to her and admits he’s in love with someone else. 

And she says in turn she’s not angry he doesn’t love her but that he lied (and similar to s2 where Mike calls Hopper a “liar”. The ex gf calls movie-mike a “liar” over and over). In fact they use the identical phrase of “you liar. you liar.”

Not to mention- she does sound like El.  She says she’s more upset about the lying than the fact movie-mike doesn’t love her. 

But I do think they eventually get closure and El realizes she doesn’t love Mike (romantically either) before her real character/story arc begins. 

movies: twister & you got mail

I’m so ready for the El & Kali teamup in s4. It’s like s2 (we get El & Kali pursuing Brenner + byler moments).

But what happens before Mike says this?I assume before this -mike & Will may confide in others about their feelings. And Mike/Will may be bullied for being perceived as gay .

 -In “welcome to the dollhouse” a boy is bullied for being seen as gay in school & at an arcade- and a character who is made fun for being a lesbian defends him at school/the arcade (so maybe robin?)Since Robin works next to the arcade/is gay.  Similarly, Fin’s character (at an arcade) is bullied and called a “fairy” and f*g” in ‘It 2′. And movie-Mike is made fun of for being perceived as gay in ‘sw*ngers’. Along with the guy (who was gay) being called homophobic names for writing letters (in wet hot american summer).We also know hawkins will most likely have a ‘satanic panic’ over d&d, rock music, and other things- which was historically rooted in christian fundamentalism.In ‘Kingsmen’ the churchgoers pretty much go on a rant being hom*phobic, r*cist, anti-science, anti-athe*st, anti-other religions, and anti-democrat and equate all of these groups of people to the endtimes/the anti christ. So one guy just snaps and says he’s gay, loves science , etc and says after “so... hail satan .And have a lovely day.”And storms out.  lol not sure about all that -but it’d be hilarious XD. Trigger warning for hom*phobic sl*rs.

-Proof For Will was : In ‘heathers’ the jocks make fun of the new guy in the cafeteria- by asking him if he misses his boyfriend  and call him the f-sl*r .in ‘superbad’ the guy who draws is called hom*phobic sl*rs and in ‘wedding crashers’ someone calls the male-painter character a “homo”. In “hackers” the (computer-nerd) who just moved to town is asked by his single mom if he “likes girls”.etc

 Also, in “The guest” a computer-nerd in highschool is bullied for being perceived as gay (and he’s given really bad advice about how to deal with it by a lonnie-esque character who is visiting his house/family for a while).  The advice is also similar to the advice given in the st comic (from Troy’s dad).

Honestly just the fire ref makes me nervous. The computer-boy eventually snaps (after never standing up for himself) and beats up his homophobic bullies.

*whenever Lonnie comes back - I assume we’ll see he’s a bad influence on Will pretty quickly

In ‘the guest’ they also made a joke that the clearly older guest must be the gay highschoolers’ boyfriend (which is not the case).

While In ‘stoker’ ,the highschool painter eventually loses it after dealing with constant harrassment- and stabs the bully’s hand (to block a punch coming their way) after the bully made an inc*st joke about the painter & the family guest.  So a joke like that could certainly cause Will to finally snap (as opposed to the other gay jokes they used earlier). In ‘dukes of hazzard’ a guy also snapped and got into a fight over a inc*st joke (and in ‘girl interrupted” they make a similar messed up inc*st joke).

 Given my theory on Will’s trauma with his dad (which he doesn’t remember)-I would not be surprised even on a subconscious level such a comment finally gets him to snap -maybe accidentally unleash his powers for the first time?Lonnie could say something about how Will should light his bullies on fire, they make a triggering joke about Lonnie &himself... and Will the wise does have fire powers after all. In the film ‘firestarter’ the kid who couldn’t control their fire abilities also lights a bully on fire accidentally so... maybe? In ‘skyhigh’ Will’s superpowers aren’t revealed until he accidentally unleashes them on a bully in the lunchroom. And 1 character in that scene says “don’t talk about my dad” before using his fire powers. Also... it’s not on the inspo list technically but the Duffers are known avengers/xmen fans.So Will could be based on scarlet witch’s son William (code name Wiccan) - he’s gay ,has lightning&fire powers and can alter reality. He’s been possessed In the past by the ‘demiurge’ - even spit up a slug too. He opens a portal to his world allowing the inter dimensional monster “mama” out (cough demogorgans are called “deep father”.)  And he’s constantly bullied for being gay- and the 1 time he finally decides to stand up to his h*mophobic bullies- is the day his powers activate for the first time and almost k*ll the bully. Not super confident in this theory but thought I’d mention it just in case.  Ok- this post is supposed to not be too plot heavy. So back to byler-

*Before Mike visits they may both confide in people about their feelings for the other . in skyhigh (at a dinner similar to the convo in sw*ngers where Mike talks about his ex gf) the bff of Will (yes his name) goes on and on about Will and how she’s known him since the first grade. And someone asks “so you’ve been in love with Will since the 1st grade?” Which she tries denying but quickly admits is true. And her friend says she should confess to Will.

In fisher king - a women who works at a videostore tries setting up 2 people- a gal-writer and a guy with an alternate personality/ who hallucinates a fearsome mythical creature (obviously Will). When people doubt the idea the girl can love this mentally ill guy  she says “stranger things have been known to happen.” And in “altered states” the guy who would hallucinate flashing to another hell dimension (like Will)- has a wife. And people say “she’s crazy about him and he’s crazy.” When they weren’t together she says to her friend she had to pretend anyone she dated was him and she says “it’s crazy” in response the friend says “i think that’s how it’s supposed to be.” Plus in fisherking one character wrote a book dedicated to his wife (which had the same title as the movie they’re in) . And someone says about this author “ he was crazy about her” as he holds the novel in his hands.

* The ‘pretending the person you’re dating is someone you’re actually in love with’ was also mentioned in ‘children of paradise’ (reffed by Robin in s3).

*I’ve also talked about Mike projecting his feelings for Will to El-here.

Will confiding in someone is harder to say. in ‘reality bites’ when asking about why she doesn’t want to be involved in romance a friend asks “because of Michael?” Which she first denies but later admits is part of the reason. 

 And in ‘hellboy’, (while taking pics) John Myers tells the fire wielding character (with mental health issues) that her bff is in love with her and asks how she feels . The 2 bffs are endgame but at first she tells John that she’s unsure because she’s known him practically her whole life (but she thinks of him everyday). 

Lol not sure if Jonathan would ever be so straight forward but it’d be nice callback to s1/2 convos they had (Jon saying in s1 to not like things cause you’re supposed to / saying being a “freak” like queer david bowie is cool) .In “twister” & “it’s a wonderful life” a family member also tells a character that their childhood friend that they’re in love with (isn’t into the person they’re currently with). In ‘ wonderful life’ she says they’re “not crazy” about the other person-but them.  And they say they know this cause they “have eyes.” And In “twister” the family member says them visiting them  is proof they love them. 

*plus Sam who is supposedly crazy about her (also isn’t crazy about marry). Aka El isn’t crazy about Mike- but Will assumes she (along with mike). Cough El saying “what makes you crazy?” in s3.

-While in “hackers’ the kid (with a single mom) who is into computers, and upset they were forced to moved to a new city -is asked by the mom “Do you like girls?” . And he angrily denies and says he’s ‘not gay’ (which could followthrough with what happened in s3- Will not opening up to her about romance, like him telling Joyce he’d never fall in love. so he may lie to her if asked that question? Unlike Jon?

 So it’s possible Will confides in Jonathan (and or Joyce) & maybe Mike to his mom/nancy?/a friend (maybe Robin or Max) (hard to say). My top guesses are Will &Jon. And Mike with Robin (and maybe his mom or sister a bit after Robin?)

Mike visiting the Byers

In ‘Tootsie’, michael (disguised as a woman named dorothy...long story XD) meets up with the person he really loves and gives them a present. The 2 low-key have like a psuedo-gay courting for most of the movie (before they get together). In ‘paddington 2′, the main character even gets multiple jobs to save up for a birthday present for a loved one (another contrast to mileven- who Mike,despite being rich couldn’t even spend $3.50 on.  They did that alot -show contrasts with both ships .So s4 would be no different.And It’s Will’s b-day in s4 after all so Mike getting Will a present makes the most sense. 

*last pics from ‘scarface’- I have no idea what he’d get Will for his b-day but if it’s engraved with “crazy together” I will lose my mind. Also the parent glaring during this scene-makes me suspect Lonnie . I do suspect Lonnie will sabotage byler-but it may end up being a s5 plotpoint instead of s4? (I guess in s4 it could be El-since el has been known to get very jealous in the past (like with max).

 - In ‘waynes’ world’ the ex gf refused to accept the breakup initially (despite it being months ago).  And she didn’t understand how breakups worked . Which given El’s lack of socialization -  I get her confusion on the concept. Like how in s3 Max had to correct El that Mike was her “ex boyfriend”. In the film, she even tried giving him a present for their ‘anniversary’ (hopefully El doesn’t try to do something like that out of jealousy of the prior gift giving -cause Wayne just says the gift shows how little she knows him). 

*You have to admit this scenario of Mike having to explain breakups isn’t that far-fetched.

(even when broken up with wayne- she wore a necklace with his name on it. ) Which reminds me of How El had a bunch of Mike related stuff in her room-including things that said “mike” on them.

in waynes’ world: The ex gf would follow her ex and still refer to him as her bf and be a 3rd wheel and interrupt every attempt for wayne to romantically confess to his new love interest (like in ‘dumb and dumber’/’high fidelity ‘).A similar scenario also happens in ‘tootsie’- Michael (as dorothy) almost confesses (on a swing set) but is interrupted by another person interested in him (Mike). Personally, I assume El would just do this unintentionally- assuming Mike wants to be with her and being a bit pushy but probably being oblivious of byler.

Not to mention the Duffers are petty AF and probably got annoyed with all the jokes that Will was a 3rd wheel to mileven- when literally Will wasn’t even around the 2 interacting alone . A 3rd wheel- has a group of 3 consisting of a couple and a third superfluous person. Which never really happened? Plus,we saw the ‘burns’ they did of mileven over the past 3 seasons- it’ll probably get worse.

And again we already know El had no qualms spying on her ex (mileven even dances to ‘every breath you take’  a song about a stalking ex gf).And El also watched the  ‘all my children’ ep with Erica & mike roy. Which in the show after their breakup - had 1 of them refuse to accept the other didn’t love them and want to get back together- and stalk them/ sabotage their exe’s romantic pursuits. Only to eventually accept reality and move on. Although, I think this is mostly un-intentional on El’s part.

In ‘clueless’ she flirted with a gay guy who she thought was straight/in love with her and kept trying to make a move-much to his discomfort . And in ‘birdcage’ the ex gf would hit on her gay ex bf- and his male partner catches the 2 and misinterprets it as not one sided ). That scenario happens in quite a few movies. I could see Will (before byler happens/mike tells el the truth ) misinterpreting and assuming mike and El are still romantically connected or will get back together .

New Swings scene (almost confession)/possible swing-flashback 

Ok back to (tootsie) .In the film,Michael’s love interest was raised by an older sibling- and he even tries to confess to her when they’re on a bench swing together . Not even the only movie with a gay gal character + gal bestfriend swinging on a bench together (’silkwood’ ). In ‘enter the void’ there was also a flashback of a little kid asking the other “do you love me?”/ and him saying “a lot” .  

* it’s like a subversion of what happened in s3 at the hospital. Also like the Wayne’s world scene of the ex gf interrupting...

But i don’t think El will be the only one trying to get mileven back together. But Will as well.In ‘Emma’ & ‘clueless ‘ :character A assumes her guy friend is into their mutual friend and tries to get them together (despite him being into character A only). I could see Will misinterpreting mileven and trying to be a good friend and get them back together (despite his own feelings). In ‘emma’ and ‘clueless’ (before they fight) there’s is a party/dance (it’s in a lot of movies).It’s possible mike, Will, and El go somewhere to dance - a lot of films have the 2 people in love-dance with others -but stare at eachother the entire time.In ‘clueless’ 2 gay guys and cher (who is flirting with one of the gay guys) all dance together. In karate kid, referenced by Max to El. Has a guy kiss his ex without her permission (on the dance floor)- and the karate kid sees the girl he likes being kissed by her ex and misinterprets the scenario (assuming they’re back together). I suppose the fact they changed the s2 script where Will was watching Mike dance with El may come back up in a later season? Could also be a callback to when Mike looked mopey at Will dancing with a girl (after encouraging him to dance with her).  Will could do the same (as mike in s2). Or they both stare at eachother while dancing with other people. or it’s just a concept they scrapped- it’s hard to say.

Confession & fall out

In ‘emma’ & ‘clueless’: character A (after the dance party) goes with the guy home and he tries kissing her . She dodges it confused saying he’s mistaking her for her friend! And he explains he was never romantically interested in her friend. In ‘emma’ he even bought her a super expensive gift before hand and she still assumed he was into her friend not her. And he even specifies in Emma- the reason he came to visit her house was for her (not her friend). A similar scenario happens in ‘weird science’ and he says she just thought of the gal he used to be infatuated with  as a “sister” (and we all know the sibling parallels in mileven). And in ‘little women’- the artist gal dodges a kiss and says to her love interest “I won’t be courted with someone in love with my sister.” And he explains exasperated he doesn’t love her sister- despite constantly trying to be with her sister previously.

 In ‘tootsie’, what caused Mike (dressed as Dorothy) to try and kiss her was-  the other gal saying she feel like she wants something she can’t have and because of that -their friendship makes her feel lonely (it’s very queer coded dialogue). She dodged mike/dorothy’s kiss but then says she has the same (gay) “impulses” as Dorothy but that she’s not mentally sound enough to be in a relationship.  A thought that may cross Will’s mind.

But, before they can talk about the almost kiss-her dad calls via phone and interrupts. (They eventually do get together though). But she tells Mike/Dorothy she ‘can’t love’ her,before this. 

*may not come across in photos-but she’s crying when sayin this.

Also, a fight about “what they are-friends/or romantic” before a phone call interrupts ( happens in ‘it’s a wonderful life’ and ‘the fisher king’ too.) Those pairings were also both endgame. In wonderful life the artist gal yells why he even came to visit her . And he implies she knows why (aka his romantic feelings) .There’s a similar convo in ‘fisher king’  (asking why they’re there) + 1 of them saying it’s “bullshit” and “stupid” to pretend they’re ‘just friends’. (We all know the context of the phrases “bullshit’ and “stupid” by now). Even Han implies Leia wants him to stay cause he has feelings for him-which she denies . Thus, irritating him.

*(I’ve already mentioned before how in s1 byler was paralleled to a gay Han/leia while mileven was directly paralleled to luke/leia-mentioned this in the ‘mileven burn’ hyperlink).

All 3 movies have eventual couples arguing cause 1 character (mike) is saying he’s done pretending to be just friends and he came to visit (Will) for that reason. And he knows Will returns those romantic feelings- but Will refuses to stop the charade and admit his true feelings.

In ‘good Will hunting” a similar event happens. Will (yes that’s his name) is poor and has severe trust /psych issues caused by his ab*sive dad.  And he has “abandonment issues” so sabotages his romantic relationships before they can even begin. When the brunette admits her feelings for him he dismisses it as a phase/confusion on her part. She in response says she knows he finds the idea she doesn’t love him ‘scary’ (and she’s scared too but at least she’s trying and being honest about her feelings). She also says she wants to “help him” with his issues -but this just angers him more. Cause he doesn’t liked being pitied/treated like he’s broken . She says she wants to help because she loves him- not pity. But he doesn’t believe her romantic confession. And every time she says she loves him he yells “Don’t BULLSHIT ME”! So when she yells “say you don’t love me?” He says he doesn’t love her- which the audience knows is a lie. But she’s left a sobbing mess alone on the floor.

Which yikes- I feel like even if you don’t understand the obvious reasons  Mike used El as a beard + lied saying he loved her. You’ll feel bad at the possibility of how badly it blows up in his face. Will not believing his confession/thinking Mike loves El or scared he’ll change his mind -so Will (for that + a myriad of other reasons)just rejects Mike COLD. Similar to clueless & Emma & empire strikes back.

I’m not that surprised since Will claimed he’d never fall in love (so when he does - he may just deny it). Like the therapist said in ‘good will hunting’ he’s afraid it’ll go wrong so never even tries to begin a romance.  I hypothesize a lot of stuff happens after this, that makes getting closure on their relationship in s4 difficult. 

So essentially to summarize a rough idea of what may happen: mileven stayed broken up. Mike and Will probably exchange letters between seasons. And El and Mike call eachother- but the excess of calls becomes too much. Mike and Will  are probably bullied for being perceived as gay- and before meeting up they may or may not confide in someone (about their mutual feelings). Mike visits for Will’s b-day/spring break and gives Will a present. El (because she sees Mike as a source of comfort) tries getting back together with him and becomes pushy and a 3rd wheel. While Will even helps El- thinking he’s being a good friend to Mike (by trying to get them back together). Mike eventually comes clean and come to an understanding and El goes on her plot/character driven arc of trying to find Brenner with Kali.  Mike eventually confesses to Will but Will for a myriad of reasons lies about loving Mike- and rejects him. And that’s all the (non supernatural) plot stuff I wan’t to talk about now...

Sorry, if this post was just hard to understand. I wouldn’t call this a ‘theory’ per say ( I usually feel more confident in those). This is more like a rough idea given what we have available to analyze so far.

Personally - I hated the mileven/couple breakup drama in s3. So as long as it doesn’t last long and most breakups like say-lumax and jancy happen early in the season... and don’t drag the actual supernatural plot/character developement . I’ll be fine.

 Contrary to popular belief- I’m a byler shipper who’s most excited for the actual plot. I’m a bit more confident in my plot theories than the exact details in this post . But I thought I’d share XD. I’ll eventually do a whole s4/5 theory- post which will focus on other characters/supernatural plot points.(but i may rewatch some movies first) . I’ll probably also do a byler post too with s5 predictions (which connects more heavily to important plot points spanning across s4-5).

PREFERENCE #17 - FIGHT (REQUESTED)

Vince: He had snapped on a group of fans for taking a picture of him. It had only been one picture, but Vince was in a particulary sulky mood today and the whole thing had sent him over the edge. Since then, he was snapping at everyone: his bandmates, management, interviewers, road techs, and most importantly you. And you were NOT having it. Especially when he snapped on a particularly excited fan, asking them if they ‘knew who he was and how he couldn’t possibly have time to humor them for a picture because he had bigger priorities’. That had been enough for you who had been so polite and patient all day. “Listen to yourself, you entitled prick” You growled, pushing him against the wall, your face inches from his. “This is NOT the Vince I fell in love with and I won’t sit here and watch you deteriorate and throw away your success just because you’ve grown disgustingly complacent. I love you too much to do that.” You spat, stumbling backwards as he broke free from your iron hold grasp on his arm. “You’re not my mom, Y/N.” Vince grumbled stepping forward and crossing his arms across his heaving chest. “You’re right, Vince. Absolutely right. I’m your girlfriend and I’m not arrogant enough to think that you’ll follow my orders, but I have to try. Because as your girlfriend and someone who loves you as much as I love you, I can’t stand to see you wreck your future and to let this fame consume you. You’re too important to me,” Vince dropped his head at your words, searching for something smart to retaliate with, but he had nothing. You were right. You were always so, so right. That’s why he loved you afterall; you called him on his bullshit and kept him accountable. “You’re so annoying.” Vince sighed in defeat, turning around to face you with a sheepish expression. “And you are a concieted asshole.” You quipped, refusing to make eye contact as he approached you, grabbing your small, fragile hands in his. “I’m sorry.” Vince whispered, kissing you on the forehead. His words were meek and tainted with embarrassment. Although it was a simple apology, you knew this was big for him because apologizing wasn’t one of his strong suits; really it had never been for as long as you knew him. But you knew if he was saying it, he really did mean it and that was big for Vince. “I know you are. Just try to cool it next time, yeah? Without them, there would be no you.” He nodded knowingly at your words, pressing a sweet simple kiss to your nose. “Thanks for keeping me grounded.” He murmured as his lips pressed gingerly against your own. “Always.” You mumbled, as he deepend the kiss his arms wrapping around your waist as he hoisted you up and pressed your back against the wall. It was always such a turn on when you let him know how it is.

Tommy: “Would it kill you to be a little bit more mature?” You muttered, packing his clothing for him as he downed his third shot in the last twenty minutes. “C’mon, Y/N. Lighten up, would you?” Tommy laughed, chucking a pillow at your head. Usually you would’ve laughed, but this sent you into orbit considering you were currently doing him a favor by packing HIS clothes after HE had successfully got everybody kicked out of the hotel for the night after hours of travel. “Lighten up? Tommy, I’m EXHAUSTED. I was looking forward to a decent night of sleep after the last 24 hours of complete choas and you get us thrown out before my head can even hit the pillow? You could afford to be mature, not to mention apologetic for your barbaric actions, you immature child.” You exploded, turning promptly on your heel to face him. “Honestly Y/N, if you don’t like life on the road you can always go back home. No one is making you stay, in fact it might be a little more fun if you leave anyways.” Tommy sneered standing up and sauntering over towards you. “You ungrateful son of a bitch.” You whispered shaking your head as the rage filled you to the brim. “Pack your own damn things.” Dumping everything you had neatly packed for him on the floor, you stormed from the hotel room tears in your eyes at his hateful words.

The ride to the next available hotel was silent, the air thick with malice as you and Tommy sat as far away from eachother as possible. Not even Nikki dared to utter a word on the situation as he had never seen your face so serious in his life. As soon as you had arrived to the hotel, you were the first person off the bus, going to the phone booth located by the entrance. “What are you doing?” You jumped as Tommy’s words penetrated the silent air, the hair on the back of your neck standing from the shock. “Calling to see when the soonest flight is to get me the hell out of here since I’m sucking the fun out of everything.” Hand on the phone, you gasped when Tommy snatched it out of your grasp and slammed it on the hook. “You’re not going anywhere. Look, I was thinking and I really am sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. I want you here with me.” You tried to avert your eyes from his penetrating gaze knowing that the moment you locked eyes with him it would all be over. “Then why’d you say it?” You asked childishly, kicking the ground with your shoe. “Because I didn’t like that you were right. I was being selfish and unappreciative.” Tommy sighed, his thumb and forefinger lifting your chin delicately. “Forgive me?” He breathed, his sweet breath blowing against your face, dazzling you completely. “Unfortunately.” You sighed, leaning up wrap your arms around his neck, squeaking when he lifted you up bridal style. “Let’s go to bed, yeah? I promise you won’t have to move a finger for the rest of the night.” Tommy assured you peppering your face with sweet kisses. How could he not be forgiven?

Nikki: “You can’t just shut me out and expect me not to be pissed, honestly, what did you expect?” You snapped, crossing your arms across your heaving chest, your eyes dark with infuriation. “I figured you’d just leave like everyone else does,” Nikki shrugged, taking a swig of his alcohol nonchalantly. “How many times do I have to convince you that I’m not going to leave? It’s like you don’t even listen to me.” You raised an eyebrow when Nikki chuckled darkly, rolling his eyes as if you were an afterthought. “You’re right, Y/N. I don’t listen to you when you say that, you want to know why? Because just like I’m hearing it now, I’ve heard it a million times before and you know what happens everytime? People leave. It never changes. You’re no different, I’m sure.” How could he say this? Your heart felt like it had fallen completely silent as you gaped at him, desperate for anything that could surface. How could he possibly be saying that to you? To someone who loved him more than you even loved yourself. “I’m no different?” You finally whispered, tears brimming your eyes. “I try over and over again to understand you and to be there for you, but it’s no use. You’re so damaged and deprived of real love that you can’t see the good that’s right in front of your eyes. I’m exhausted, Nikki. Exhausted of trying, exhausted of being hurt, exhausted of not knowing how to help you and unfortunately I can only do so much. So, I guess this is me being like everyone else,” Gathering your things, you turned your back to him lips quivering as the tears betrayed you gushing over your cheeks and coating your features as you walked through his front door slamming it behind you.

Hours past, but you couldn’t bring yourself to physically leave him. Instead you stubbornly sat on the steps in front of his home, allowing yourself to be drenched by the persistent rain. Why couldn’t you leave? After he hurt you the way he did, why isn’t it you couldn’t walk away? Your thoughts were interrupted when you heard the front door swing open, Nikki standing there in shock as his eyes focused in on you. “What-What are you doing here?” He yelled over the rain, bewilderment coloring his features beautifully. “I’m not everyone else, Nikki Sixx. I can’t leave you no matter what you say to hurt me. No matter how hard you want to push me away.” You admitted pathetically standing to your feet with struggle as your clothes were now heavy from the rain. “You really aren’t like everyone else.” He said more to himself than to you as he stepped towards you. “I’m rotten for you. I don’t deserve this, this kindness this love.” He spoke, shaking his head, guilt coloring his features. “That’s where you’re wrong. You are deserving of all of that and more and I will show you that if it’s the last thing I do. You aren’t broken, Nik. You’ve just been through too much; too much that you didn’t deserve.” In that moment, his lips crashed down on you. Usually his kisses were controlled and gentle, but this time was different. It was rough, careless, and passionate. It left your head spinning, and your breath ragged, your heart pounding relentlessly in your chest. “I love you and I’m so so sorry.” He breathed, pressing his forehead against yours as tears filled his eyes. “I love you Nikki, you’re never gonna be without me, I promise.”

Mick: Mick was typically a quiet creature. Not very often did he raise his voice, not very often did he grow angry. That didn’t mean that it didn’t happen, however, it just meant that it took something extremely important to get him to that boiling point. And the thing that was most important to him, someone might ask? Well, it was simple: you. And when you were self destructing and you weren’t taking care of yourself, nothing infuriated Mick more. Why couldn’t you love yourself the same way he loved you? Why couldn’t you see just how important you are? What you meant to him? “Just leave me alone!” The octaves in your voice rose with each syllable as you stormed away, leaving him to follow pathetically in your tracks. “No, I won’t leave you alone. Especially when you’re acting like this!” He spit, his words venomous and filled with evident fury. “Acting like what?” You demanded, rummaging through the counters desperately searching for a wine opener. “This, Y/N. You don’t cope, you don’t allow yourself to feel emotions or to process. You just drink and do anything to not feel anything at all! Deal with your emotions like a fucking adult for once, you fucking coward!” Mick slammed his hands down on the counter, causing you to drop the unopened bottle on the ground, glass shards flying all around you, wine coating your clothing. “That-That was my last one, now what am I going to do! I-I hate you! ” You shouted through hysterics, dropping to the floor, desperately trying to scoop the liquid up with your shaking hands as the tears poured down your cheeks uncontrollably. How could you say you hated Mick? You were disgusted with yourself, with how far you had allowed yourself to spiral, with how far you were willing to take things for selfish gains. “Y/N…” Mick whispered, his arms pulling you away from the mess, collapsing against the fridge when you faced defeat and allowed your body to slump and grow limp to his touch. “I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry. I love you.” You sobbed into his arms as he consoled you, kissing the top of your head gingerly. “We’re gonna get through this, Y/N. I’m going to see it through if it’s the last thing I do,” Mick spoke with vehemence as you continued to cry into his arms. “I’m just so scared.” You whispered defeated which only made Mick hold you tighter in his arms. “I will never let you down. You’re gonna be okay, Y/N. You’re gonna be okay.”

Quinlan’s Dilemma

This happens with the Interviews Universe. It happens before the Clone Interview (which I’m still writing).

This rather short story follows Quinlan with his men.

Characters: Quinlan Vos, Beast - Clone OC, Sung - Clone OC, Drark - Clone OC

Words: 1106

Quinlan flops onto his cot in the tent he shared with his Commander, groaning as he does. Beast looks over at him curiously, but doesn’t stop cleaning his armour or asks Quinlan anything. Which is fine. Quinlan doesn’t need prompting. Unlike a certain redhead who needs not be named.

“Do you think Cody hates me?” 

That got Beast to stop cleaning. Beast set aside his armour and raises an eyebrow, “Marshal Commander Cody?”

“The one and only.” 

“Why would he hate you?” Beast was suspicious, which, Quinlan would like to be offended at, but Beast had been with him since the beginning of the war. Quinlan more than deserved the suspicion that he antagonized another person.

“He’s not reacting.”

Beast sighs, “Sir, stop being cryptic. That’s General Kenobi’s thing, not yours. What have you been doing to the Marshal Commander?”

“Flirting!”

“...” Beast doesn’t respond, instead he goes back to cleaning his armour.

“Beast-”

“Sir, I told you when Commander Bly got with General Secura. I will not be involved in your, or anyone’s lovelife.”

Quinlan had actually forgotten about that. Mostly because he didn’t really have a lovelife. But he nods, “I’ll go bug someone else.” Quinlan gets up and leaves the tent. It was the easiest option. He walks around the camp a couple of times, first looking for Obi-wan and Cody, both of who seem to be out scouting thankfully. The second time looking for Troopers who weren’t doing anything.

“Drark, Sung, I need to talk to you two.” Quinlan calls, the pair look up from their own conversation as Quinlan walks toward them and sits on a rock near the two.

“What about General?” Drark asks.

Quinlan pauses before launching into his own problem and instead asks,  “You two don’t have a problem being involved in other people's love lives, right?”

Drark and Sung share a look, “Like, talking or-”

“Talking.” Quinlan cuts in, he doesn’t know how long Obi-wan and Cody are going to be gone and he’d like to talk before then.

Both Troopers shrug, “Fine.”

“Yeah, we’re fine with that.” 

“Great. I think Cody hates me.”

“What does that have to do with your lovelife?” Drark asks.

“Yeah, I thought you were dating General Kenobi.” Sung adds.

“No. Want to, but no. I’ve been flirting with Cody, and he doesn’t really respond.”

“Sir, if you want to date General Kenobi, why are you flirting with his Marshal Commander?” Drark interrupts

“...I want to date both of them. Not important right now. Cody hasn’t been responding at all. Not telling me off, not reciprocating.”

Drark and Sung look at eachother before Sung begins, hesitantly, “Sir, does Commander Cody know you’re flirting with him?”

“Huh?” Quinlan was pretty sure he’s rather obvious with his flirting. Given that even Skywalker caught on to him flirting with Obi-wan.

Drark takes over, “It’s just, your flirting is sometimes…” Drark pauses and shrugs, “a lot of people think you flirt with Beast.”

Quinlan’s face twisted up in confusion and moderate disgust, “I don’t.” Beast was a friend, nothing more.And Quinlan didn’t want to be anything more.

“We know, Sir, but, the way you talk to the Commander makes those who don’t know Commander Beast very well think you’re flirting. If Commander Cody has seen how you interact with Beast, he might just assume that’s how you interact with all Commanders. Playflirting.” Sung shrugs.

Quinlan was now very confused. But before he could say anything, Drark states, “General Kenobi and Commander Cody are back.” Quinlan nods and stands up, and heads back to his and Beast’s tent.

But what Sung said was still stuck in his mind so, he asks, “Do I flirt with you?” Much to Beasts clear dismay.

“If you did I’d punch you.” Beast grumbles.

“Sung says it seems like I do to outsiders, that Cody might not know I’m flirting with him.”

“Sir.” Beast’s voice was hard and annoyed.

“Lovelife, got it.” Quinlan raises his hands and flops back on his bed, dropping the subject entirely. “How was the Sabacc game last night?”

----Time passes----

Obi-wan and Cody were heading back to Coruscant. Quinlan had said goodbye, and flirted a little bit with both Cody and Obi-wan, over holocall with Beast at his side. The 451st would be close behind them, a little under a day, but first they had to meet up with the 327th Star Corp. As they entered hyperspace, Beast pulled off his helmet.

“Sir, did you flirt with Commander Cody?”

“I thought you didn’t want to be involved in my lovelife?”

“I’m making an exception. Did you?”

“Yes?” Quinlan didn’t really see the point in the question. Was it not clear? Given Beast’s face, it might not have been.

“Sung is right. He doesn’t know you’re flirting with him.” 

“How do you know that?” Beast looks at Quinlan like he’s an idiot.

“Sir, your flirtation to Commander Cody is only moderately more flirty than how you talk to me.”

Quinlan thought back, to both his flirting with Cody and his playful banter with Beast. And, he could admit, they are pretty similar. “Oh…” Quinlan wasn’t entirely sure how to proceed. Be more direct to Cody? Tone down the banter with Beast? Beast clearly doesn’t mind the banter now or else he would’ve told Quinlan to stop. Right? Beast did say he’d punch Quinlan if Quinlan started flirting with him, but would he? “You don’t mind how I talk to you, do you?”

“Sir, if I had a problem with you, you’d know it. But I would advise making it more clear to Commander Cody you’re romantically interested in him.” Quinlan scrunches up his face, unsure. “Sir?” Beast asks, clearly confused.

“I don’t want to...  Flirting is one thing, Cody can ignore me, tell me to go to hell, or reciprocate. But if I outright… I don’t want to pressure him.” Quinlan knew that Jedi-Clone relationships weren’t that outthere. Hell, Aayla was in a very loving relationship with Bly, but, Bly made the first move in that relationship. According to Aayla at least. Which reminded Quinlan that he wanted to talk to Bly. A Jedi making the first move...it’s dangerous. The clone could feel pressured. 

“Sir, it’s Cody. If he’s not interested, he’ll tell you to fuck off.” Beast rolls his eyes then puts his helmet back on. “I’m done talking about this.” Beast states, and starts to walk away, muttering, ”Way too much romantic bullshit.” 

“I can hear you Beast. Oh, and remind me to talk to Bly when we meet up with Aayla.”

“Don’t care, and whatever.” Beast states at a normal volume, leaving the bridge.

YOONMIN ROOMMATES

Yoongi really needs a roommate after Hoseok decides to abruptly leave him, and Jimin is too cute to say no to.

Knock knock

Yoongi groans mumbling loud enough that the person behind the door can hear “What do you want hoseok?” he grumbles being awoken from his sleep. His roommate laughs “It’s 4 in the afternoon Yoongi don’t you think it's time to get up?”.

Yoongi sits up and groans “Is that the reason you got your ass up to ask me? Just to tell me something I already knew”. Hoseok responds “actually no hyung, it's something important..”. Yoongi mumbles under his breath about hoseok never getting to the main thing when he talks to him. He gets up putting on some boxers to cover up his nudity walking out of his bedroom to find hoseok with some boxes filled with what seemed to be clothes and items he usually has in his room. He looks up to see hoseok without his usual bright happy grin on his features “I’m moving out…., things with taehyung are getting more serious so we've been planning on me moving in with him in his own apartment”. Yoongi nods understanding that hoseok should be spending time with his boyfriend. But worry and stress passes through his body realizing this means he now doesn't have a roommate.

He doesn't have someone to split the bills with.

He doesn't have someone to blame for leaving the empty milk carton in the fridge. (which he did more often than expected from Min Yoongi)

He doesn't have someone to help him run errands with.

He doesn't have someone to get the groceries for them (he really really hates going grocery shopping)

Hoseok sees yoongi start worrying “But you know I wouldn't just leave you without something to help, Taehyung has a friend who has been wanting to move into the city-” “Hoseok it's fine i’ll be fine I can find someone you don't need to set me up with someone” Yoongi interrupts feeling that hoseok is giving him some for of pity because he's leaving yoongi alone.

Hoseok nods picking up a box hearing a knock at the door,”that must be taehyung” he opens the door to see his boyfriend standing at the doorway smiling brightly. Yoongi furrows his eyebrows thinking his roommate was leaving some time later not 2 minutes after he told him about it. Taehyung brightly greeting yoongi like always, yoongi greets back politely. He didn't know much about taehyung except him being a great person in hoseok’s life and their love for eachother.

The next 30 minutes flashed by to yoongi as his roommate and his boyfriend cleared out the room taking them to their car. He was brought back to reality with hoseok giving him a tight hug “bye yoongi, if you need me to help you find a new roommate just text m- OH wait i forgot to tell you that taetae and me are having a small party in a couple weeks as like a small celebration for us moving in together” Yoongi nods as a response. Hoseok sighs disliking the blunt-ness from his roommate, well now ex-roommate walking out the apartment waving bye.

Yoongi is left alone in the apartment, he wanders off into his room going onto his computer starting to try to figure out how he will find a roommate. He decides on posting on his social media about needing a new roommate, sighing he posts knowing he won't get much feedback rather he might get some family asking if everything was fine or if he needed financial support. 

Over the next week he gets around a one guy and two girls.The first girl was fine they met up at a cafe and discussed.He wasn't fond of the girl. She was very kind, a bit too kind. She was overly hyper, loud, and annoying to yoongi. Yoongi was used to hoseok’s energetic rather loud personality but he was fine with hoseok because of their long friendship.The girl was like if hoseok had a female clone but on multiple drugs. He left her with “i’ll get back at you in a week”  but in reality he blocked her on all social media and her phone number.

The guy he interviewed was… well to put it in a polite way a douchebag who smelt like cheap weed and liquor. Yoongi within 5 minutes with the guy talking like he only had a 3rd grade education and cocaine took his life, he faked a phone call and immediately right after blocked him on all social media and phone number. 

The last girl was fine.

She met all the necessities and would be a good roommate. Yoongi finally thought he had found a good new roommate. He told her he would get back at her and then separated their own ways.

On yoongi walk back to the apartment complex he thought of the possibility of that girl being his roommate. She was great for the role she met all the expectations and wouldn't disturb him since she's doing some studies at a nearby college.

He arrived at his door and noticed it was unlocked ‘i thought i locked it..?’ he thinks to himself opening the door noticing everything is as he left it he shrugs thinking it was just him leaving the door unlocked until he hears a “oooh” from the kitchen he furrowed his eyebrows confused walking into the kitchen.

There stands a rather short boy/man (yoongi can't distinguish if it's a teenager or a dude), but yoongi realizes he's probably not even taller than him.

He has some fluffy blonde hair slightly wavy, wearing with some acid dyed jeans that seem fairly tight, along with that a plain white t shirt slightly see through. Yoongi can see some the man’s back muscles which causes him to stop examining the man and ask “what are you doing in my house?”.

His voice causes the other boy to yelp and turn around confused looking at him up and down while yoongi does the same.

“Oh hi! Im Park Jimin” he responds with a grin on his face that almost takes up his whole face. Yoongi is far more confused by the boy acting such cutely to him while he has his straight almost mad facial features on.

“Uh okay, but what are you doing in my house?” he asked raising an eyebrow at the shorter boy.

“Oh! hoseok told me to come by, he let me in but he went out to get some food I think so he left me here” the so called park jimin responds rocking on his heels keeping eye contact with yoongi.

Yoongi gets even more confused.

Hoseok his ex-roommate invites a guy over to yoongi's now self owned apartment. The whole thing confuses yoongi more until jimin continues talking.

“He told me you were looking for a roommate, and i've been looking for a place near my college. I'm friends with Taehyung, hoseok’s boyfriend and he told him about my situation so hoseok is trying to hook me up with being your roommate” he says smiling brightly that yoongi thinks it's going to blind him.

Yoongi nods in response remembering when hoseok mentioned about helping him find a roommate. He walks into the kitchen getting a cup filling it with water then hoseok walks into the kitchen.

“Hey Yoongi Hyung!!” he basically screams having yoongi blink at him before taking a sip from his drink.

“Thank you for the warm welcome back” hoseok laughs and sets down a bag that seems to be some take out from a wings place.

“Well i think you made yourself at home before i was even here” yoongi rolls his eyes at the whole situation of hoseok and jimin coming into his home uninvited.

Jimin blushes a bit in embarrassment for letting hoseok convince him into staying alone when yoongi came on.

Hoseok shrugs and gets out the food from the bag, “but heyyyyy i got us some food!” hoseok smiles dodging yoongi’s comment on them coming uninvited.

“How polite” yoongi rolls his eyes yet again going over to the table helping hoseok set up the table for a casual lunch.

the three boys sit down after they finished setting up, its all quiet until hoseok speaks out “so yoongi, i don't know if jimin told you or not but he was the person i was talking about that could move in and become your roommate if you hadn't found a roommate, so jimin why don't you introduce yourself”. All attention is turn to jimin as he blushes from the attention and having his mouth full of food.

He quickly swallows his food and starts talking “well im park jimin as i told you before” he looks over at yoongi when he mentions him. Yoongi nods in response being more interested on this smaller quiet cute boy, “i am from busan, i um am studying dance at Seoul Institute of the Arts shish is near here which is why i'm interested in being your roommate” he rather quickly talks quickly glancing at yoongi meeting up to his gaze before looking at hoseok. Yoongi barely notices he has been staring at jimin during the whole time he's been talking, but when jimin makes direct eye contact he blushes whether it had been involuntary stare or voluntary he still blushes quite deeply.

Over the rest of the meal they all talk about the arrangement since yoongi had completely forgotten about the other girl who could have a high chance of being his roommate. Plus yoongi was way too intrigued by jimin he couldn't say no.

A day after yoongi agreed to having jimin as his roommate he was awoken at 5 am in the morning by the doorbell, far too early for yoongi to be awake. He drags part of sleep self out of his room to the door opening to Jimin balancing three boxes in his arms. “Good morning Hyung!!” a far too cheery for five in the morning jimin greets yoongi’s half awake puffy from barely waking up face. Yoongi rubs his eyes “what are you doing here so early?” he mumbles leaning against the frame of the door he was slightly irritated by being awoken this early but he really didn’t mind since he was going to work in an hour or so, and maybe because jimin was the one who woke him up.

 “It’s not that early it’s almost six and plus I needed to start moving in new roomie” Jimin replies walking into the apartment even though yoongi hadn't said anything about letting him come in. Yoongi grumbles under his breath about jimin being a little brat for waking him up, “it's five thirty something not even near six, and need any help with your with your stuff?” yoongi quickly changes his meaner demeanor noticing jimin carrying an absurd amount of boxes to his new room.

“If you want Hyung but if not I can handle it, but thank you” jimin responds but yoongi had already picked up three boxes before he could finish his sentence.

The whole morning up until seven they both fixed up the room with jimin doing most of the talking with a story about a small dog he saw on the way over which lead to them talking about past pets then suddenly into what they should eat tonight.

“I want Bibimbap, so that's what we're having” Yoongi says already deciding what they should have until jimin decides to  argue against, “But Yoongi I don't want bibimbap, can we just get some kimchi and rice?” he asks the question more like a statement to show how strangely passionate he is about getting what he wants to eat.

“Eh but i don't want kimchi tonight, sooo ha” Yoongi shrugs and continues putting on jimin’s new covers and bedding. Already within an hour of them living together they already argue like a married couple yoongi thought laughing at jimin’s next remark.

“Hyunggggg please can we have kimchi and rice, i'll make it and you can just come in and eat” jimn whined turning around towards yoongi setting down the poster he was attempting to put up but was a little too short on where he was planning on putting it.

Yoongi shakes his head not wanting to argue but still not wanting to agree, “Nah” he simply replies setting the pillows on the bed. Then he feels arms being wrapped around him and jimin’s head on his shoulder, he whispers in his ear “pleaseeeee yoongi hyung, I’ll even make some dessert for you after”.

Yoongi immediately blushes as the of proximity of jimin and him and of how jimin’s voice went more intriguing and persuasive. He sighs looking over at jimin pouting cutely up at him, he had to give in mumbling a quick “Fine”.

Jimin smiles and squeezes yoongi before pulling away leaving yoongi flustered “Thank you Yoongi!!”. Yoongi mumbles a quick okay before continuing fixing up the bed.

Yoongi returns from work at around 5 pm, walking into the smell of rice being cook in the kitchen and something sweet. He stands at the door a bit confused then remembers jimin was cooking for them sighing at the memory of the morning he closes the door leaving his bag in the living room walking into the kitchen.

He smiles at the sight in the kitchen, jimin having to stand on a stool to reach the top of the cabinet wearing a bright neon pink apron that hoseok might have left. He leans onto the counter but bumps his elbow on a bowl causing it tumble a bit but thankfully for yoongi nothing spilled out. But the sudden sound did cause jimin to jump off the stool and squeak loudly.

“U-uh I’m sorry” Yoongi quickly apologizes and moves over to the stove to see how good jimin’s cooking really is.

“It’s fine hyung” Jimin responds going back onto the stool getting a bowl out from the cabinet,

“Do you need help with any of this shorty?” Yoongi smirks noticing even with jimin on the stool had barely been able to grab the bowl. Jimin rolls his eyes blushing slightly getting down, “I'm not short it's just that the bowl is on the top cabinet, and plus were the same height!”. “I'm taller minnie” yoongi laughs and grabs the wooden spoon to stir the rice so it won't burn. Jimin blushes at the nickname getting down from the stool moving close to yoongi so their chests touch and reaches a hand to the top of both the heads to measure their height. Yoongi blushes having to look straight into jimin’s eyes being even closer than the morning,  “Ah ha! We’re the same size Yoongi” jimin pokes his tongue out to be playful but accidentally brushes against yoongi’s lips. Yoongi flush up leaving a deeper shade of red on his cheeks noticing jimin’s cheeks also heating up to a dark pink. 

“S-sorry yoo-” jimin gets cut off with yoongi’s lips pressed against his. Yoongi smiles as jimin stumbles closer to yoongi kissing back. He pulls away feeling out of breath leaning forehead on jimin’s smiling grateful he took his urge to kiss him into action. Jimin this time is the one more surprised and flustered. 

“So what's for dessert?”

Gone and Back Again (Rucas) Chapter Three

    I would like to thank you all for being so patient in waiting for this chapter. I hope to be posting these chapters more regularly. I would especially like to thank @sand1128 for helping me get through a couple serious cases of writer's block. Anyways, happy reading!

   As Riley made her way to the car, she couldn’t help but beat herself up about hugging Lucas. She didn’t know what he thought it had meant. But Riley didn’t even know for herself.

       She was quickly beginning to learn how much she was going to hate being on crutches. The parking lot was easy enough to navigate them, but getting into the car seemed like a challenge. Avalon’s bright yellow Volkswagen bug stood out among the other cars, and Riley spotted it with ease. After hobbling over to the car, she tried to open her door, but it was locked, and Avalon was asleep inside. Riley hit the window with the heel of her hand a few times to wake her.

    She woke startled, and looked around to see where the noise was coming from, before seeing Riley and unlocking the doors. Riley took her crutches out from under her arms, opened the door, and got in. She ungracefully tried to toss the crutches in the back, nearly hitting Avalon in the face.

    “Woah, I know I was late paying the water bill last month but you don’t need to get violent,” Avalon joked, pulling her seat back into the upright position. “So I take it you did some serious damage, huh?”

    “Broke it. I have those stupid things for the next few weeks, and then we’ll see,” Riley replied.

    “That sucks,” Avalon voiced, tossing her long, fiery red hair behind her shoulder. She turned in her seat to halfway face Riley.

    “Tell me about it,” Riley said, rolling her eyes.

“So I guess you and Brad didn’t sleep much last night?” Riley remarked, preparing herself to hear every gory detail of their evening.

    “Nope. I’m just surprised you didn’t hear us when you got home.” Avalon laughed to herself for a second, “I feel bad for our neighbors, I mean the walls are like paper-thin, and I’m pretty sure there’s a dent from when he shoved me up against the-”

    “Okay, well, first off, I’m pretty sure I was too hammered to hear anything last night. And second, what have I said about my interest in your sex life?”

    “That you don’t care unless I say that I’m pregnant,” Avalon pouted overdramatically. Riley nodded in response.

    “Do we have any food at home?” Riley asked, digging a bottle of ibuprofen out of her purse.

    “You’ve got a serious hangover don’t you?” Avalon asked as she started the car and buckled her seatbelt.

    “So serious that I feel like I can hear colors, Av,” Riley whined, picking up a half-empty water bottle from the floorboard and taking a sip to swallow the pill.

    “Does the poor baby need some food?” Avalon asked in the most annoying voice she could.

    “Yes, she does.” Riley rolled her eyes, triggering another sharp pain that rocketed through her skull, “I could go for Whataburger right now.”

    “Hate to burst your bubble, hon, but I’ve got like five bucks,” Avalon said, taking her eyes off the road to look at Riley.

    “Well then, the McDonald’s dollar menu sounds absolutely delicious.” Riley shut her eyes, waiting for her ibuprofen to kick in.

    “Good, considering that’s about the only thing we can afford.” Suddenly, the car in front of them slammed on the brakes. Avalon managed to stop the car in time, but not without sending Riley flying forward as far as her seatbelt would allow. “Get off your phone and drive, jackass!” She shouted angrily.

    “You know what, forget McDonald’s, I can eat a can of peaches or something at home.” Riley massaged her forehead gently, as if she could magically cure her splitting headache.

    “Nonsense, you need real food, Riles,”

    “I wouldn’t really consider that as ‘real food’,” Riley laughed.

    “Shut up, we’re stopping,” Avalon responded jokingly.

    “Whatever, get me a burger and a diet coke.” Riley closed her eyes for a moment.

    The nearly deafening silence was doing nothing to help her headache. The only sound other than road noise was the occasional squealing of the brakes. Riley opened her eyes and reached for the AUX cord. She plugged it into her phone and looked for a decent song to play. Without even thinking, she clicked on her ‘Lucas Playlist’, which didn’t go unnoticed by Avalon.

    “Look, it’s gonna take us forever to get home, and I don’t want to spend that long listening to songs about how much you’ve missed Lucas, okay?” Avalon drummed her fingertips on the steering wheel as she spoke.

    “It’s not like he wrote them or anything, and besides, it’s just music.” Riley shrugged as the car stopped at a red light.

    “Whatever you say,” she paused for a second, “So what did you two talk about in there? I mean, you couldn’t have just sat in complete silence, right?”

    “I don’t know, we just talked about stuff,” Riley rolled her eyes and threw her hands up in the air, “We’re meeting tomorrow for lunch.”

    “Let me guess, you need a ride?” Avalon offered. The look in her brown eyes clearly meant that this was an empty gesture. The traffic light turned green, and they kept driving.

    “I’ll just call a cab, it’s fine.” Riley’s phone rang, and the name on the caller I.D. almost made her jump, “It’s the lady I went to for that job interview,” she explained, turning off the music. She took a deep breath before answering. “Hello?”

    “Hello, this is Tracey from the downtown location of the Sugar and Spice Coffee House, is this Ms. Riley Matthews?” The cheery voice on the other line answered

    “This is she.”

    “Ms. Matthews, I regret to inform you of this but we decided to choose a different candidate for the position.” Riley face fell at the words. She really thought she would land this job.

    “Thank you for letting me know.” She said dryly, before ending the call. She dropped her phone back into her lap and let out a heavy sigh.

    “You didn’t get it did you?” Avalon asked gently. Riley only shook her head in response.

    “I didn’t want to have to do it, but I guess I’ll have to visit my parents tomorrow night and ask them to loan me some money.” Riley sighed again. They pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant as it started to rain. It was just a few sprinkled raindrops at first, but that didn’t last long. In a matter of seconds it had turned into a complete downpour.

    “The drive-through line is pretty long, I’ll go in, you stay in the car,” Avalon asked as she opened the car door.

    “Yeah.” Riley answered simply. Avalon nodded and got out of the car, rushing because of  the rain. She came back out a few minutes later with their food.

    They decided to eat in the car, and then spent the next twenty minutes talking. Riley was pretty upset over not getting the job, and all she really wanted to do was to go home and sleep. Between her hangover, ankle, and the news about the job, she was emotionally and physically exhausted.

    It still hadn’t quit raining by the time they reached their apartment building and it didn’t look like it’d be letting up anytime soon. Riley ungracefully pulled her crutches out of the backseat and got out of the car, becoming completely drenched as soon as she was out. Avalon was almost to the door by the time Riley was even out of the car.The rushed to the elevator once they got inside and took it up to their floor. Once they were  inside their apartment, Riley curled up on the couch and fell asleep almost instantly, not caring that she was still in her rain-soaked clothes.

A thought was weighing on her the second she woke. It felt like she’d forgotten something- something important. Then, it hit her. She wasn’t sure why she was remembering it now. Maybe she dreamt about it, but who could say for sure? All she could think about was how stupid she had been when she forgot to give Lucas her phone number. Luckily, she did have his. Her purse was on the floor beside the couch, right where she’d left it before falling asleep. She dug around inside her purse until she found her phone and took it out. The harsh, bright light of her phone made her wince. Her fingers shook as she pressed the “call” button. She had no idea why she was so nervous. After all, when it came down to it, it was just a phone call. But telling herself that did nothing to calm her nerves.

     It rang a couple of times before she got an answer. The second she heard the “click” saying that the call had gone through, she started talking. “Hey Lucas, it’s Riley.” She greeted him, trying both to sound cheerful and not to sound like she’d just woken up.

        “Hey Riles-” He interrupted himself, Wait, can I call you that?” He sounded nervous as he spoke. At least his nervousness helped Riley to overcome hers.

     “You’re fine,” Riley giggled, “Force of habit, right?”

     “Are you okay? You sound like you just woke up.” Riley smiled. It felt good to talk to him again like this.

     “You must be psychic,” Riley cooed, laying back down.

     “See, there once was a time, Riley, when I heard that voice almost weekly. We’d watch a movie in your dorm room, you’d fall asleep with your head on my chest, I’d wake you up when the movie ended and you’d beg me to stay the night.” Lucas’ voice was steady, and almost flirty.

     “And you would most times. We’d snuggle up under the covers and fall asleep in eachother’s arms.” Riley got lost in her memories for a second.

        Lucas cleared his throat. “So why did you call?” It seemed like he’d gotten caught up in nostalgia too.

     “Oh, I uh, I forgot to give you my new number earlier. So here it is,” Riley’s cheeks turned bright pink.

        “Oh. But I do have to admit, I always did love the sound of your voice in the morning,” Lucas chuckled. Riley let out a laugh herself.

     “So I’ll see you tomorrow?” Riley asked.

     “Yeah, see you then.” Riley didn’t want to hang up. She wanted to just keep talking to him- forever. After all, that had always been their favorite thing about their relationship. “Bye Riles.”

     “Bye Luke.” Her breath caught in her throat. She couldn’t believe she said that. Sure, to some it may seem like a sweet, endearing nickname, but for her, it was so much more than that.

      It was one of those winter nights when the only thing to do was wrap yourself in a blanket and wait for the heat to kick on. Friday night- the one night of the week when Riley’s roommate was out. Friday night also meant that Lucas would probably be over.

     Riley pulled a soft, cropped t-shirt over her head as she waited for her microwave popcorn to finish cooking. She heard a knock at her door, and she automatically knew who it was. She opened the door wide to find Lucas standing in the hall.

     “Hey, baby!” Riley exclaimed, pulling him in for a hug. They stood in the doorway like that until the microwave went off.

     “Riles you’ve got to be freezing,” Lucas voiced as they pulled apart, pointing out her terry cloth shorts and t-shirt. He came inside and shut the door behind him.

     “I’ve got you to keep me warm, now don’t I?” Riley suggested.

     “At least I finally know the real reason you invited me over,” Lucas joked, “So what are we watching tonight?”

     “I was thinking ‘Queen of the South’ if that’s okay with you?” Riley grabbed his hand as they both crossed the small room to her bed. She crawled under the covers and patted the space beside her, telling him to join.

     “You mean the show where you jump up into my lap every time somebody gets shot? Why wouldn’t I want to watch?” Lucas kicked off his shoes beside the bed and grabbed the popcorn out of the microwave. He poured it into a bowl for the two of them to share.

     “Hurry up, it’s about to start!” Riley demanded. Lucas quickly sat the bowl of popcorn on her lap and joined her under the covers. Riley ate a couple handfuls of popcorn before handing the bowl to him. “I don’t remember anything that happened in the last episode,” Riley confessed.

     “Probably because we were too busy making out to actually watch,” Lucas suggested, making Riley blush, “Not that I minded.”

     “How do you feel about a repeat, then?” Riley whispered seductively into his ear. Before he could even answer, she started to plant soft kisses along his jawline. She paused for a moment and looked into his eyes. Her heart was already racing.

        Seemingly out of nowhere, Lucas rolled over onto his side and kissed her passionately. His right hand was on Riley’s cheek, while his left rested on the small of her back. Riley pulled away and broke the kiss for just a second. She climbed on top of him and ran her hand up under his shirt, before taking the shirt off altogether. Riley picked up the bowl of popcorn and set it on the floor to get it out of the way, keeping her eyes locked on his as she did. Lucas smiled before gently, albeit aggressively, pulled her closer to him.

     “This is okay, right?” Lucas asked. He always asked that when they pushed things any further than kissing. This confused Riley because he hadn’t really done anything other that kiss her so far.

     “Is what okay?” Riley asked, breathing heavily from pure excitement. The noise from the television went on in the background, but it didn’t seem to phase either of them.

     “This,” Lucas responded. He looked into her eyes as he slowly lifted the hem of her shirt no more than a couple of inches and let his hands rest at her waist.

     “It’s perfect,” Riley breathed as she leaned in to continue their kiss. She twirled a section of his short hair with her finger. She opened her mouth just the slightest bit against his and grazed her teeth softly against his bottom lip. Lucas took his hands off Riley’s waist just long enough to take the hair elastic out of her ponytail. Riley drew in a sharp breath as she felt his fingers run through her hair, sending a shiver down her spine. His hands returned quickly to their position , almost on her hips. But not without skimming over her stomach and traveling up almost to her chest.

     “Riles is it okay if I-” Lucas started to ask.

     “Go right ahead, but let’s not go any farther, alright?” Riley cut him off, like she knew what he was thinking before he said it. Lucas nodded as he pulled Riley’s shirt over her head and tossed it onto the floor beside the bed. As soon as the piece of clothing had been removed, he started to softly and slowly kiss along her collarbone. He eventually moved to the base of her neck, kissing her so hard that she knew it would leave a dark hickey to cover up the next morning. Riley let out a soft moan as he continued to plant kisses along the base of her neck.

     Riley slid off of him and lay on her back, motioning for him to follow her.  Lucas moved forward and straddled her. They began to kiss again, this time with even more passion than before. Riley wrapped her legs around Lucas’ waist as she pulled him closer to deepen the kiss. His hands running over her chest- which is only covered by the lacey bralette she was wearing. The two of them were pressed together so closely that they were nearly one person. Lucas started to play with her hair again with one hand as he slipped the other under her back to get rid of any remaining space between them.

     There was a sudden knock on the door, which startled both of them.

     “Please don’t let that be the R.A.,” Riley prayed aloud as she quickly got out of the bed and slipped her shirt back on. Lucas sat back up in the bed and tried to act casual as Riley walked to the door. The young man on the other side of the door looked vaguely familiar as he handed Riley the pizza she’d ordered. Riley figured she knew him from one of her classes. The door was open just wide enough for him to see a shirtless Lucas on the bed.

     “Well if it isn’t Saint Lucas!” the man, whose nametag read Nate pointed out. Now Riley knew where she’d seen him before. He was one of the guys that Lucas hung out with. From what Riley remembered, he wasn’t exactly the nicest guy on campus. He was notorious for his borderline obnoxious flirting- even with girls who clearly weren’t single.

     “Yeah, just spending the night in with my girlfriend,” Lucas replied as he came up to the door himself, “Is that a problem?”

     “I can’t believe I’m seeing the innocent Saint Lucas in a girl’s dorm,” Nate joked. Riley went to her dresser and grabbed her purse from its place on top of it. She dug out a twenty-dollar bill to cover the cost of the pizza exactly- she had no intentions of leaving a tip.

     “What’s that supposed to mean?” Riley interjected as she walked back to the door.

     “Well Luke has this whole ‘southern gentleman’ thing going on and it’s pretty obvious that you two were getting it on in here before I showed up.” He seemed so pleased with himself for calling them out, but Lucas didn’t seem happy at all.

     “Why would you think that?” Riley defended.

     Nate looked at Riley, “Most people don’t wear their shirt inside out and backwards sweetheart,” He paused for a second to look inside the room, “Luke’s shirt is on the floor by the bed, and the bed’s unmade,” Nate finished.

     “What’s your problem man?” Lucas growled, shoving him. “So what if we were doing it, huh?” Lucas demanded. Riley could tell he was starting to get angry, and all she wanted was for this conversation to end.

     “Me? I don’t have a problem,” He laughed, “I’m just making sure this sweet thing is getting everything she deserves.”

     Riley was frustrated as she handed him the money. “I think you should go,” she said flatly.

     “What, no tip?” he asked, trying to look offended.

     “Here’s a tip,” Lucas started, crossing his arms, “Don’t talk to my girlfriend like that.”

     Nate leaned in closer to Riley to make sure she could hear, but made sure to speak loudly enough for Lucas to hear as well, “You just let me know if he’s not good enough.”

     “Get out of my room, now,” she ordered him, tears brimming in her eyes. He laughed to himself quietly as he walked out the door and shut it behind him. Riley stood there, speechless. It wasn’t the first times she’d been hit on, but no one had been brave enough to do it with her boyfriend standing right there. She leaned against the door and sighed.

     “Riley, come here,” Lucas offered, his arms open wide to hold her if she needed. Riley smiled, even though she  was still upset. She practically fell into him and Lucas had to grab onto the dresser to keep them both from falling to the floor. He kissed the top of her head. Riley was the one to pull away after a while.

     “I’m sorry. I don’t know why I’m so upset over this,” Riley apologized.

     “You don’t have to be sorry. He had no right to say that to you,” Lucas said, putting his hands on her shoulders.

     “Can we just forget it ever happened?” she asked.

     “Of course we can. Let’s go finish this episode.”

 Riley nodded in agreement and walked over to the bed. She took off her shirt to turn it rightside out and Lucas couldn’t help but stare. She blushed but didn’t say anything. They climbed into bed together and Lucas pulled the covers up over them. The two settled in and managed to catch the last few minutes of an episode, and just as Lucas had predicted, Riley practically jumped into his lap every time something scary or shocking happened.

     “So I just realized something,” Riley started to speak but she paused to gather her thoughts, “We’ve been together for like five years and I still don’t have a pet name for you.” Riley smiled as she looked into his eyes.

     “You call me ‘Bear’ all the time,” Lucas noted.

     “Yeah but that one’s so sappy and sentimental though,” Riley explained, tossing her hair behind her shoulder.

     “Oh, baby I almost forgot. I heard back from that record label today,” Lucas unintentionally changed the subject.

     “What did they say?” Riley asked, getting excited.

     “It’s not really official yet, but they want to take me on,” Lucas said with a smile.

     “That’s the best news ever! How could you forget to tell me about it?” Riley kissed  him out of pure excitement, but it was a short, sweet kiss.

     “Well you never really gave me the chance to tell you,” he joked.

     “Maybe they’ll make you shorten your name down to Luke,” Riley thought out loud, “Luke Friar, it has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?” Riley giggled, “I mean, a lot of people call you that already.”

     “You’re really cute sometimes, Riley,” he admitted, feeling around under the covers for her hand and lacing their fingers together.

     “Maybe that’ll be my nickname for you,”  Riley suggested, resting her head on his shoulder.

     “All you did was take a syllable off my name,” Lucas laughed as he looked down at Riley.

     “You did the same to mine and I never complain when you call me Riles,” she pointed out moving in closer to Lucas.

     “Fair enough, that’s what you call me when you talk in your sleep anyways,” Lucas commented.

     “I don’t sleep talk!” Riley protested.

     “Whatever you say Riles.”  Lucas sighed as he put his arm around Riley’s shoulders. Riley snuggled up against him. She ran her fingertips over his bare chest and smiled to herself. Lucas kissed the top of her head lovingly. She could smell his signature scent- pine and sandalwood- something so uniquely Lucas to her.

     “Sleepy,” Riley mumbled as she climbed up into his lap. She leaned her head on his chest as he stroked her arm. The steady beat of his heart was almost enough to put her to sleep as he held her close to him.

     “It’s barely nine, how can you be so tired?” The only response he received was a halfhearted shrug. “Don’t you at least want to get ready for bed?” He asked. She sluggishly climbed back off of him and got out of bed. She picked his shirt up off the floor and slung it over her shoulder as she went into the bathroom. She quickly brushed her teeth and undressed before putting on Lucas’ shirt.

     “Your toothbrush is still in there,” Riley reminded him as she came out of the bathroom. Lucas nodded silently, not taking his eyes off the sight of her in his shirt. “We didn’t eat any of that pizza but I guess we could have it for breakfast tomorrow,” she suggested.

     “Okay,” Lucas agreed as he got up out of the bed, “You get in bed, I’ll be out in a second and we can settle in.”  Riley nodded as she walked past him to get in bed. She was half asleep by the time he got in bed with her. She could feel it as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

     “Night,” She mumbled, mostly into the pillow.

     “Night, Riles. I love you.” He replied. Riley could feel his breath against her ear.

     “Love you more Luke.”

       Riley was brought back to reality when her phone slipped out of her hand and fell to the floor. Her thoughts were still clouded as she picked it up. Thoughts and memories like these had surfaced a few times, but this was different. This wasn’t because she was lonely and she couldn’t stop thinking about him, she knew that much at least. Missing him seemed to be the most obvious reason, and that was the worst part.

     She’d been trying her best since they broke up to shut down whatever thoughts she had about how much she missed him. It worked for a while- she’d keep herself occupied, so busy that she didn’t have a spare second to stop and think about him. She signed up for study groups for her classes, started working more hours, and even started volunteering at the library. It worked, as long as she stayed busy and kept her mind even busier. But every night, as she drove home, as she got ready for bed, as she tried to fall asleep, he’d come to mind.

     It hurt every single time. Every memory, it seemed to cut like a knife. Her downward spiral had started only a few days after they broke up. It wasn’t long before she asked her doctor for something to help her fall asleep- claiming that it usually took an hour for her to fall asleep, and that once she did, she’d wake up several times a night. She never let herself have any downtime either. If she wasn’t working or at a class, she was studying like a madwoman. That wasn’t entirely a bad thing because she was doing much better with her classwork, but it seemed that Riley didn’t know how to do anything in moderation.

     She’d study until almost four A.M., knock herself out with her medication for a couple hours, wake up exhausted, fill her body with caffeine to function. She was always tired, yet somehow full of energy. Anyone who spent much time with her always described her as zombie-like. The five-minute breaks she’d get at work were rarely ever taken- she’d just work right through them without even caring or complaining about how sore her feet were or how tired she was.

     All of her extra work was bringing in more money, and that was always the excuse she gave anyone who said she worked too much.

     “Just getting a head start studying for finals!” she’d say if anyone made a comment about how much she studied. She couldn’t even admit to herself that she’d turned into a workaholic. It had become so routine for her that sometimes she forgot why she worked herself half to death. Sometimes. But sometimes was better than never at all.

     Her boss was the only one who knew why she worked so hard. She told him that she wanted to work more hours because she was going through something and she needed to keep herself as busy as she could. As horrible as her boss could be sometimes, he agreed to give her more hours, saying that he could use the help anyway.

    There were some nights though, when she didn’t get to work late, didn’t have a study group, or anything else to do. Those nights were the hardest. That was when it all came up- everything she’d tried so hard to bury. But no matter how deep she thought she’d buried it, it always found its way back up to the surface.

     She’d wallow in her own thoughts for a while, before realizing that she could sleep off all her feelings. She’d take her medication, fall asleep until her alarm went off the next morning. When she would first wake up, everything was fine. Her life was perfect. But usually within only a few seconds of crawling out of  bed, she’d remember everything. That feeling when it all hit her, that was easily the worst thing she’d ever felt. They say that the human body can’t remember pain, but that’s physical pain. And Riley Matthews knew that this was a pain she’d never forget.

     Riley took a deep breath to steady herself. What had she just done? First it was a lingering hug in a hospital waiting room, and now this? That name for him had eventually become a very endearing phrase that had all but taken the place of “I love you.” That’s when it hit her. That’s when she realized that she’d told Lucas she loved him.

A while has passed since Michael had to listen to Rachel’s long story of her misadventures in Psanctum sine they last met. Fortunately,the two have been done with handing out all the cool water bottles to those in need of it. Now they’re currently sitting beside eachother on the edge of one the city’s aqueducts,looking out on the late afternoon sky,the city basking in the cool red-orange light of the sun.                                                                                            Michael was silently enjoying the view,satisfied with today’s finished duty. He slowly looked over to his companion,who was far more interested in drinking the water bottle he had gave her as a small bonus for helping him out,even though it was basically black mail. Michael,and as any other pure bred demon,has lived for a long time,meeting odd and interesting characters along the way. But never has he met someone so odd and interesting as this girl before him. Its not like he took a fancy to her,atleast not to him,but for some reason this particular runaway has been bumping into him more times than any other person he has associated with.                                                                                                                          He can still remember the first time they met,when thieves broke into Connie’s apothecary shop at night and stole vials of Embrosia,a rare and highly valuable elixir able to flush out nasty sicknesses and prolong one’s stamina. Luckily he was just coming coming back from an interview he had with the press at the library. The thieves were running along the roofs of the apartment buildings,silently enough to not make too much noise. But Michael heard the commotion,not because of the thieves,but because of a loud and furious voice yelling at the top of their lungs and cursing colorfully at the thieves while chasing them. Michael saw her,a girl with pink hair chasing after the robbers on the rooftops,running as fast as she could. She looked petite even from a distance,and on her head rested a pair of horns that were spiked like a bull’s horns. She also had a small tail shaped like a spade colored red.                          Michael helped her out in catching the two thieves,who were a kobold and a tanuki.                                                                                                                          Afterwards,Michael saw the girl’s horns slowly retracted into themselves,making them look like a ram’s horns now. She thanked him and went back to the apothecary,leaving Mike on the street. They were too tired to ask eachother’s name,or even introduced themselves. Michael assumed she wasnt from the city since his mere presence didnt shock her or anysort of reaction a normal citizen of Psanctum would give him. That night marked the beginning of a bond that would last for the ages.                                                    Rachel noticed Mike just staring at her with a weird look,as if she was the most confusing thing ever. Growing uncomfortable,Rachel waved her hand in front of Mike’s face. “Hey,Mike,Hey,yoohoo is anyone there? Are you ok? Do you have brain damage?” Rachel started to snap her fingers in Mike’s face. Finally,he came to his senses and looked flustered.                                                                “OH-oh,Rachel,sorry, i was just thinking about something” Michael apologetically said.                                                                                                   Rachel gave him a suspicious look at him”It’d better not been something about me,cuz that’d be reeaaalllllllyyyy creepy and,well,wrong.”                                       Mike’s face went abit red”W-ww-what nO NO no! it’s just..i..i was remembering something.”                                                                                                              Rachel narrowed her eyes at him,but she decided to drop it and view the city from afar. Michael also went back to stare at the view,but he then asked Rachel a question that’s been on his mind.                                                                         “Hey,Rachel?”                                                                                                         “Hmm? What’s up?” she casually responded                                                         “I’ve been meaning to ask,Why did you run away from your home?Your family? I know what im asking isnt my business,but i’d like to understand why you did it.”   Rachel looked at Mike,then she looked down at the city.                                        “Well”,she started unsurely,”I guess you could say i wasn’t satisfied with things back home.”                                                                                                            “How? You’re of noble blood in Mara,born into a rich family with economic influence,servants filling in your basic needs and keeping you pampered,having almost anything you could want! And you’re telling me,a prince no less,that you weren’t happy with that?”                                                                                         Rachel growled a bit at MIke,her horns slowly moving up abit.                              “I didn’t say i was unhappy, i just felt like something was missing from my life” she responded a bit angrily.                                                                                     “Im sorry, i should’ve worded that more correctly. But,what exactly was missing in your life?”                                                                                                             “....Adventure.” Rachel wistfully said,slowly smiling at saying the word. She continued on.”Adventure was what i was missing Mike! All my life in Mara i lived in the coastal city of Cephalosanges,living in a manor and having everything i could ask for at a moment’s notice. Other kids would try to get to be my friend. But i knew that that was all ruse cuz i was loaded. The only true friend i had was my younger sister Yima. But as i got older, my grandpa would tell me and Yima stories about heroes and legends from our world and Earth. Stories of people slaying monsters,finding ancient ruins,conquering lands,the list just goes on!        I especially love the Odyssey.” she dreamily finished.                                            Mike looked at Rachel,finally understanding the mind of this girl.                          “So,after some time, i made a descision to see what the world has to offer me,and now im here” Rachel proudly said.                                                              “You mean to tell me that you traveled all the way from the southern part of the continent,ran away from home,and hid your identity,just because you were having a thirst for adventure?” Michael asked critically.                                            “Well,yeah kinda, i wanted to see the world outside of my home, so i decided to do it. And man was it worth it! I rode a wyvern for the first time in my life,tagged along with a bunch of mercenaries traveling north,became queen of the squirrels,ate a gryfin egg, climbed a giant mush-”                                                   “Wait wait,hold on a moment”,Mike interrupted.”You became queen of the squirrels?”                                                                                                                “Gaze upon the queen of all that is good in nuts and acorns!” Rachel said in a mock royal tone.                                                                                                      “Umm..ok,but how?”                                                                                                “I’ll tell you another time,but right now,Michael,you got to hold up your end of the deal,remember?”                                                                                                      Michael almost forgot about the deal,but he did remembered.                                “Ah yes,right. Well, Rachel,due to your circumstances and conditions of living,how does an apartment in the upstate area of the capital sound to you? With rent and utility expenses all covered by the Psanctum department of treasury?” Only silenced was greeted by Mike as Rachel simply stared at him with an open mouth. He knew she’d react like this. Slowly,Rachel walked over to him and looked up directly into his golden eyes.                                                     “You’re bullshitting me,aren’t you?                                                                         “No, i am being genuinely honest about this”                                                         ”And how am i supposed to know that? For all i could know you’re gonna sike me out and get a laugh out of it”                                                                              “Rachel”,Mike grabbed her shoulders gently,”I am not lying to you. I am a prince of Psanctum,son of the King Fortitudo III,on my word i am being very,VERY,serious about this.”                                                                                 “But,but i thought you found me annoying,and troublesome. You’d sometimes even call me a menace before”                                                                                ‘And im sorry,but now that i got to know you better, i can see why you act the way you do. And i dont want a citizen of this city to die somewhere in the slums because of my judgment on you.”                                                                            Rachel slowly smiled. “Im a citizen now?”                                                               “Well,not yet,but i’ll work it out with some of the city’s council to make you one.”    Rachel suddenly glomped Mike,almost causing him to fall off the aqueduct. Thankfullu he didnt. And after that night,those two would soon share more adventures with eachother than before,and develop a bond that would mean more then just friends.

i'm losing hope of byler being an endgame :( milevens say that we are invalidating mileven, besides having several scenes that they show "passion/love". they make fun of us, besides always giving reasons why mileven is an endgame, and disrespecting other people's ship, and maybe actually Will will be with another boy right?? idk but I really hope I'm not being deluded

lol  lets not focus on byler for a sec and mostly discuss mileven. what scenes show mileven’s  ‘passion/love’? Because the show invalidates mileven constantly-why they’re so aggressive/afraid of us.THEY KNOW IT’S DOOMED (they live in head canons and nothing else).  I’m going to try keeping this short by doing bullet points.

-The writers in s3 threw in a telemarketing joke just for Mike to say “El. no. sorry not interested” and hang up the phone. 

- Flo  in s1: “only love makes you that crazy and that damn stupid.”

Mike: “if we’re both going crazy. we’ll go crazy together right?”will: “yeah, crazy together “ *smile and stare longingly at eachother *————————————————————-Mike: “they do say it makes you crazy”El: “what makes you crazy?��(the exact opposite of crazy together as she continues to be confused over every explanation he gives of love 😂)————————————————————-During the byler fight  Mike says “el’s not stupid!” After this, Will calls himself “ so stupid “ 4x .  rips up photo where they said they’d go crazy together and cries . But, El after fighting with mike happily says: “there’s more to life than STUPID boys .”  El’s catchphrase being “not stupid” which she says in s2 before going to see Mike at the school. And Nancy before Mike says he loves El / Mikeduring the byler fight (about mileven) say “El’s not stupid!”

-the s3 stobin confession parallels mileven’s s3 shop confession (full analysis in link). Both El/Robin have bandages on their legs and both pairings sit together (on the floor) during their confessions- and are interrupted by Dustin. And in both straight baits- the guys use the terms “stupid/crazy” but subvert the expectation of it being romantic-as both girls say they’re not “crazy” or “stupid” for the guy. El saying “what makes you crazy?” in response to Mike. And Robin saying she was not into Steve’s “stupid hair” (similar to El saying there’s more to life than ‘stupid boys’/other saying she’s not stupid.”Also the song ‘the first i love you’ only plays twice in s3. During Steve’s romantic confession and robin rejecting him because she’s gay & El’s romantic confession and awkward kiss with mike (where Mike doesn’t reciprocate). Cause Robin/Mike are both gay and will reject the romantic confession.

- Erica making he-man and barbie kiss: “Hey , They’re in love!”Lucas (livid- and standing right next to a rainbow forcing them apart): “No, actually,  they’re not. they’re not even from the same planet.”  El even watches he-man in s1! Mileven is not in love!

Cue El and mike being compared to ET and Eliot -WHO AREN’T FROM THE SAME PLANET (by the Duffers in multiple interviews and in the pilot script ) .   And then there’s the  old euphemism of “girls come from Venus, and boys come from Mars”.  The Duffers saying mileven isn’t in love cause they’re not from the same planet (aka the same gender) -is just them telling us Mike is gay so he can’t fall for El-who is a girl/diff species. They literally have Will say to Mike “welcome to my world” as a contrast. So El telling mike he should ‘stick with his own species’ (aka boys) is another gay hint.

In s2 they even had El wear the same shirt as a 1986 movie character (staring Winona Ryder). The movie is called coincidentally “lucas”- and he’s in an unrequited romantic relationship with a gal named maggie. And he later says him and Maggie are  from “different worlds.” El being movie-Lucas in a unrequited romance, in this scenario. And the other easteregg is the Duffers have st-Lucas  say the “planet/worlds” similar to movie-Lucas.

some milevens also attribute romeo/juliet to mileven cause Dustin mentioned it while mileven was out of shot. But romeo & juliet weren’t actually in love-it was just kids in infatuation. And also used to describe the unrequited infatuation of Lucas/Maggie.

-Also when dustin in s1 says el is “like a wizard” (like Will.) Mike corrects dustin and says “more like yoda”. Really hammering down the alien references- which the Duffers reference to el in interviews all the time-by comparing her to et . In the pilot they even said mike and el are like “Eliot and et.” They said they made el dress like a ghost cause et did so- and then for the extra burn they made mike a ghost hunter/buster. And they also said that EL’s makeover in s1 was like et’s in the movie. And sorry ... who compares the girl they “crush on” with a green gross alien (yoda)- kind of shows how he sees her more as this foreign superpowered entity rather than a girl/crush. And on what planet is et /Eliot romantic??Answer is -it’s not. 

- In contrast, They have Mike and Will parallel  Diane and Venkman. In ghost Busters, Mike -is Venkman- and Will -is Dana Barret- who Venkman flirts with shamelessly until she is possessed. Dana finds a demon-dog in her fridge, and hires the ghost busters. And right before Venkman goes on a date with her she is possessed by the big-bad, Zuul, and is transformed into the gate-keeper (who controls demo(n)-dogs). Venkman proceeded to try to talk to the real Dana , ignoring her possessed form and eventually realizes how serious her condition is, is forced to sedate her. Eventually with the help of his team, Venkman closes the gate to Zuul’s dimension, rescuing Dana in the process. And Venkman plants one on Dana before riding away in triumph. While, El is a ghost and Mike is a ghost hunter XD

Notice in the same season lucas says mileven is ‘not in love’ and compares mileven to he-man and barbie .  Dustin has a  he-man & Et next to each other (along with a ghost buster sign above them, and the ghostbusters-trap next to et). This just reinforces the mileven eastereggs I’ve already talked about -  and how they want you to make the connections  about mileven not being in love. They showed et/barbie next to he-man, had El watch he-man, compared El to Et (who had a barbie-like makeover/ghost costume), so the next he-man ref of ‘not being in love’  cause rhey’re from different planets would connect in a more obvious way to mileven.  Same with Et next to the ghost trap and ghost busters sign (and El dressing as a ghost and Mike as a ghost buster-as an extra burn).

- Mike dehumanizing El is hammered down again when they compare s1 mileven to s2 dart /dustin (a demo dog) , to further show how un-romantic it is. Fin even said the duffers told him Mike saw el (OFFENSIVELY) as a “puppy’ (right after s1).  And of course millie accurately said “what a horrible way to describe me!”But the parallels are there: Dustin/Mike sharing sweets ( nougat vs eggos) for breakfast and saying they’ll have to wait for them to come home from school. And having mike annoyed, say  “a bond? cause you shared nougat?!” is dissing milevens who think the ego thing is cute/romantic. Dustin/Mike saying they ‘promised’ to take care of them and that they ‘trust’ dustin & mike. Dart killing a cat and El almost killing a cat. Dustin/Mike trying to convince Lucas- Dart & El aren’t bad. The boys thinking both El & Dart were bad guys causing both to end up running away because of that. Mike even admits in s1 he doesn’t like eggos and told El she doesn’t have to eat “like a dog” anymore.  it’s ironic when Mike says to Dustin “she’s not a dog” cause he treated her as such. Why El says in s3 angrily , “am I your pet?” It’s because he did/does unfortunately treat her this way to some degree. 

-They Parallel Mileven to Hopper & El (since mileven isn’t actually romantic)!

*teaching the meaning of promise vs com-promise. And making “promises” to eachother is not some super romantic thing- for just mileven.

* Telling her to eat “real food” vs eggos

* saying her new look is “cool”and saying it’s “bitchin” after El says the look is.

* Saying others are “corrupting her” and in response gals say neither respect her ability to make “decisions” in regards to romance. Hopper not accepting Mileven together (want them to break up)  and Mike not accepting she dumped him.

* Max saying to not let Hopper/Mike control her

*El saying “you lie” to both of them

ok , back to listing other points

- they dance to ‘every breath you take’ a break up song about a stalker ex who can’t accept he is now with her friend. The writer of the song also has said many times “it’s NOT a love song.” The duffers obviously knew that. Lumax also danced to it and Lucas was called a ‘stalker’ . El also stalked Mike in s2 (all that stuff milevens found romantic- El watching him without him knowing. Mike says he was not ok with it in s3). And in s3 he said not to do that and she just says ‘i make my own rules’.Plus, sting (the singer) mentions it’s supposed to sound romantic but the lyrics are sinister. And that the ambiguity/deceptive happy -romantic tone was intentional. Kind of like how people think mileven is healthy and in love when the show (ambiguosly says ) that it’s not -and the “opposite”.Just like the song being misinterpreted as romantic because of its deceptive packaging -mileven is the same . Mileven got popular cause everyone missed all the warning signs it wasn’t healthy (cause it was packaged as ‘cute’ and ‘ in love’) when behind the surface it was shown to be the opposite and not healthy.

 Not to mention Nancy teaching Dustin how to dance is a direct parallel to Mike teaching El. 

Mike also tries to act like Dustin, and  forces Will to dance with a girl (who’s wearing a rainbow hair clip). Trying to be a good sport like Dustin is about lumax. And right after this we see Dustin look sad about Max/Lucas dancing and Mike (next to Dustin) look sadly at Will/girl dancing in the same exact frame as Max/Lucas. As they switch between these 2 shots to emphasize their sadness/jealousy.Then they both sit down (mirroring each other) on the verge of tears before Nancy and El show up to comfort them and distract them.  As El once again (presumably) wears Nancy’s dress. Mike after El asks “will you be my brother?” “you cant go  (to the snowball) with your sister... i mean you can but it’d be really weird.” 

- before their first kiss in s1 she asked if he would be like her brother (after being compared to a cousin, and being compared to Holly, and wearing Nancy’s dress.) In s2 they even make a direct parallel to Luke &Leia (who were siblings who had a weird romantic relationship/kissed before realizing they were related). Mike (as Leia) saying “it’s a trap” to El (Luke). 

- Mike in s1 writes a d&d story for Will inspired by star wars.  in ep one Will tells Mike “it was a 7, the demogorgan it got me.”At the end of the season Mike writes a whole story of him and his friends killing a 7 headed monster, and showing the decapitated head of the monster to king Tristan (Will). Similar to how at the hospital he tells Will to not worry cause “it’s dead now”. This is right after Will rolls a 14 (cause Mike and Will are 7s together). And Mike who is a fan of starwars has King Tristan give them medals after killing the monster. Cause he wants Will/king tristan (instead of Leia -a girl) to present him with medals and be his romantic love interest (and praise him for being a hero).

- They had Dustin call mileven “bullshit” just like stancy (who were never in love). And in s3 for almost every single character in the show to dislike mileven . if that isn’t a cry for help from the writers idk what is XD

other stancy parallels: Making out on a bed to cheesy music. stancy wasn’t in love but they kissed the most in the series and nancy and steve (similar to mileven exchanged ‘i love yous’) but weren’t endgame and it was never love. Mike and Steve sing to their gfs and neither girls are fans and cut them off.In s1, both Nancy/Mike slap Steve and El and then both yell “ What is wrong with you?!”  Stancy/mileven are compared to Karen/ted who according to Nancy “never loved each other”. El is a fan of ted’s lazy boy. (Karen in s3 looks at Ted in the chair when the lyric “I should have walked away “ plays). And Steve and ted continuing to eat chicken as their gf /wife storm off from the table upset , and they do nothing. After the mileven and Karen/Ted fight- Steve says while eating “what did I do?what did i do?” And mike while eating says about el after their fight “what did i do wrong? what did i do wrong?!Steve and Ted both tell Mike to “stay on the bench/you’re on the bench.” Karen/ ted that they “never loved each other” (just like mileven and stancy which are “bullshit.”) All 3 wheelers were with people cause it seemed like the rational choice ( rich guy/ popular guy/ girl). Not to mention mike said “ I don’t remember” ( in reference to saying he loved el ) . And doesn’t say it back when el says “I love you”. Which mimics Nancy in s2 saying “I don’t remember ” (saying the stancy relationship is bs) . And she is also unable to say she loves Steve when he says“say you love me.” And Steve and el walking away as both wheelers stand there in silence. Unable to say “I love you” back.  Also, when stancy officially breakup it also pans to mileven on the porch as another parallel.And 11byers mentioned (at Christmas)  jancy has a moment but despite stancy’s issues she goes back to Steve where she looks sad over the decision .  Similar to how Byler have a moment , but then after , mileven talks about christmas  and they have that awkward kiss. In s3, steve when talking about stancy and trying to be popular even says “dustin’s right it’s all a bunch of bullshit.” (meaning Dustin’s right about mileven). Steve even says “everything people tell you is important that you’re supposed to care about- it’s bullshit.” (same season Mike mimics Lucas’ words from s1 about El being the “most important thing”.

-They also had Mike tell Max “i don’t hate you. I don’t even know you.”  Aka he can’t hate Max or love el cause he knew both for a week-and doesn’t know them. The amount of mileven burns that were in s2 -were insane XD.

other direct contrasts between Mileven & byler 

besides the ones already mentioned. 1) ‘crazy together/so stupid’ vs ‘what makes you crazy?/el’s not stupid/more to life than stupid boys & 2) ‘they’re not in love they’re not even from the same planet’ vs byler’s ‘welcome to my world’

3) Mike has drastically different expressions after the byler/mileven fights and the difference in weather and music selection ,convey how Mike is feeling. He looks regretful with Will, and almost annoyed with El dumping him.  Mileven breaks up to upbeat music on a sunny day (the break up being in front a crowd and a joke) vs the morose music and the storm shown (with just Mike and Will fighting ). We are supposed to take the byler fight seriously and the mileven one as a joke.They had Mike apologize to Will immediately. But with El he says “what did i do wrong?’ (Kind of like how ted, after pissing off karen says “what did I do?”)And then had Mike wait by the phone for her to apologize- says sexist stuff about her. Then have mike laugh/burp and talk about cheese and El to laugh about the break up/high five max and immediately oggle a pic of another boy/male celeb (unlike Will who looks sadly at the pic of Mike after their fight). And then after staring at the  teen-male celeb,  El says she’s not sure if  Mike’s a good kisser cause he’s just her “first boyfriend” and she has no other boys to compare him to (implying she’s thinking of other boys in the future).  Contrasted to Will who said he thought him & Mike would never get gfs but just spend the rest of their lives together. El after all these events, then happily reads comics  as Max says she shouldn’t hang out with Mike all the time. VS Will having him sadly read his comic to distract himself  only to throw his comic on the ground right before he looks at the pic of mike from Halloween (where they said they would go ‘crazy together’), calls himself stupid (unlike El saying there’s more to life than stupid boys/mike saying El is not stupid-aka in love ). And then destroys castle byers /crIES after the their fight. These events were perfect opposites.

4) When Mike says in the pool shed she’s the “most important thing in the world” to him. she cuts him off and says Hopper is right about them spending too much time together. But when Mike in the shed says asking Will to be his friend was the “best thing he’s ever done” (it was practically the cliche of true love breaking the curse) XD.

When Mike says to El  “you’re most important thing to me” in the pool shed. El doesn’t even acknowledge the comment (and neither should the audience- cause the words were empty). The framing of this mileven scene was not cinematic or heartfelt, and neither was the delivery from Mike. He’s not crying, trying to reach her with proclamations of his genuine feelings. There’s no dramatic music, framing, lighting or shot composition (and the scene was incredibly short).And El just responds and cuts his supposed ‘true feelings’ off- only to agree with Hopper and says “ what if he’s right”  . I didn’t speed this up FYI.

Juxtaposed to the MUCH longer byler shed scene. A literal single tear falling down his cheek as Mike , recounts the first day they met. This whole monologue is only of tight shots of just their faces (their bodies aren’t shown like in the pool shed scene). With contrasting colors of light and shadow.This is a personal moment between them and them alone- and the fact we zoom in on their faces (expresses this to be important emotionally) . And when we see Will’s reaction to Mike saying “it was the best thing I’ve ever done”. We just see Will’s face only- no music is playing and all we hear is  Will’s whimpers and Mike crying in the background.*

5) Max in s2 at Will’s house questions how Mike can still trust Will now that he’s a spy for the mf . Max (in s3) at El’s house: says that Mike doesn’t trust El- and Mike mentions that her spying is why he doesn’t trust her.  in s2, Mike: “if anyone could stop them it’s Will“. Max: “ I thought we couldn’t trust him that he’s a spy for the mf now?” Max in s3 calling Mike out  : “El has saved the world twice. And Mike still doesn’t trust her.” Mike: you want to talk about trust really?! after... Eleven spied on us! I guess girlfriends don’t lie they SPY!”

Not to mention - the fact is... El has “saved the world twice but Mike still doesn’t trust her” to fight the mf. Yet he 100% believed Will could defeat the mf -despite Will being possessed/a spy for the mf . And despite the fact Mike  thinks Will has no powers - unlike El ( but we all know he does , though :P). And, Mike even says Billy is dangerous cause  the “mf is in him ...Billy’s mind is sick, diseased” (but with Will possession -Mike still trusted him).  Max rolls her eyes and stares challengingly at Mike cause she remembers what Mike said about Will in s2- and the hypocrisy . And she finds it annoying how little faith he has in her compared to his almost unmoving-trust in Will (who at the time was possessed) . Mike has 100% trust and faith in Will-but simply doesn’t trust El.  And MAX KNOWS IT! Cause she’s paying attention. Like her facial expression/raised brow, at the end, is a challenge- you think non-superpowered Will could defeat the mf but not El with a history of fighting monsters? You say Billy possessed by the mf is dangerous- but still have more faith in Will possessed by the mf- than your own gf?! tbh El couldn’t defeat the mf (so technically him trusting Will over  El was proven to be correct). He wasn’t right about the El ‘giving up’ bs and he was still wrong for not respecting El as her “own person” with her “own free will” : not believing in El’s ability to make decisions like breaking up with him/ not believing El made the idea to spy on him, etc . But, Team work has always been what saved the day in s1-2, so over-relying on El to do it all and acting like she was the messiah ( like most of the st fanbase) was a poor plan . It’s not the El-show (it’s an ensemble cast with several mains). When they relied on her only ,to be the chosen one- she lost her powers, 30+ people d*ed, and they had to save her.

6) ) El and Will both calling for “Mike” alone in the upside down . And Mike “never giving up” on them.In the exact same ep (s2 e2) , both call for Mike from the upside down. El saves herself without Mike’s help. But Mike rushes to save Will crouching to comfort Will (whose body language mirrors El’s but who was alone in the forest after she sees mike and he did nothing). 

in s2 ep 1, both call for Mike ,but Mike only comes for Will -not el. It was like how Nancy in s1 called for Jon, and jonathan pulled her out of the upsidedown.  And as Jonathan and Mike both pull Nancy and Will back from the upside down , Jonathan says “I got you”. And Mike says “I got him “ twice. But mileven is like how barb while in the upsidedown called for Nancy (but nancy didn’t hear her screaming her name-cause it shows symbolically Nancy does not return Barb’s romantic feelings). Just like mileven.

Mike even saw Will’s dead body but the second he heard his voice he convinced everyone he was alive. Mike deep down assumed El was dead he brushed off seeing El as seeing things (like how Hopper described seeing Sarah). He even tells Max “ they took her just like they took bob” who was dead. Then a few minutes later lies and says he “never gave up” on her when she appears alive (which was a lie cause he just said she was dead). When El goes to his house Mike doesn’t ever go the forest to find her (unlike how Mike went into the forest in the pouring rain twice for Will). The truth is the only person he ‘never gave up on’ was Will.

7) They have El & Will have pics of Mike on Halloween (same night of the ‘crazy together’ speech). El only has a pic of Mike being miserable  and Will has pics of Mike staring at Will, and smiling next to him- despite the joke Mike never smiles in photos , this isn’t the case when mike is next to Will (he always smiles with Will). Cause being crazy with Will makes him happy - unlike his relationship with El who he fakes being ‘crazy’ about .

8) Millie said El is “obsessed with Mike” so she has Mike-themed stuff all over  her room. She has a drawing with a heart that says mike on it/random heart pics, mike pic, dice that spell out mike, mikes’ stuff. So, It’s funny that mike has nothing relating to El at his place. In contrast to this, he still has 5 d&d drawings from Will on his wall (that he’s kept on his wall for 3 years despite removing an old poster from that same wall-which he gave to El). Mike even put up a 6th Will-drawing in s3- next to his new poster. And he never put a single 1 of her many drawings on his wall-just Will’s).

back to other points...

- They compared mileven to karen/billy. El in s2 , mimics Erica Kane who m(in the ep she is watching) rushes into a relationship with a writer named Mike Roy. (That relationship is not endgame-and  literally ends with one of them stalking and sabotaging their next relationship, but eventually accepting it’s over). This, also parallels Karen/ Billy. Before she meets him in s2, Karen is reading a romance book that has a guy that resembles Billy on the cover. The Duffers even mentioned they changed the cover to show the resemblance between Billy and the fictional book character. And we see Karen reading the sequel in s3 before Billy appears. Both El and Karen don’t/didn’t love Mike or Billy- they just projected onto them fictional characters they were infatuated with. El being into Mike roy- but projecting her crush on to Mike wheeler.

-They had El’s whole s2 arc be destroyed to show mileven is bad for her. “friends don’t lie” to let me lie to my friends so I can kiss mike and ditch them. lucas even said “they’re lying (about her curfew).”And lie to Mike about hearing his confession. Then in s2 trying to leave the cabin to experience the world and see my friends and fam again. To literally ignoring them all for 6 months and never leaving the cabin-despite Hopper letting me leave the house in s3.

- El in s3 says Mike treats her “like a pet” and “garbage”.

-In s1 Mike referred to her as a ‘weapon’  to help get Will back. smacked her when he thought she lied about Will being alive and said Lucas was right about her all along when he thought Will was dead and he couldn’t use her anymore. 

- They had El never apologize for spying/stalking . And  Mike never apologize for lying -despite it being the cause of the breakup . And had mike not reciprocate the kiss/ or say ‘i love you ‘ back  and had his eyes open while the same exact song plays that robin came out to: called ‘the first i love you’). These are the only 2 times the song plays in s3. The ‘first i love you’ also sounds like ‘the first lie’ - that song played when jancy said they were just friends. it sounds the same cause jancy lied about it not being romantic while mileven lied by saying it was.  He never apologized for lying cause the love is the lie- like Max said “boyfriends lie ALL THE TIME”. And it’s why the camera panned to Will when Lucas asked why Mike lied to her. And he never answers El’s question of ‘why do you lie?!’ (he just looks up silent and guilt ridden).This awkward kiss all happens in Will’s room too while Mike is in front of an open closet (while El is holding Will’s old bear).  

Plus he also fought with Hopper in s2 (’about El’) in Will’s room too. He wasn’t actually calling Hopper the liar he was calling himself “a stupid disgusting liar”out of self hate .  That scene was foreshadowing his lying to El in s3 (about his feelings for her). He blamed Hopper for his feelings for Will cause he told himself it wouldn’t have escalated if El had been around to ‘fix him’ . “I BLAME YOU! NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS OK! NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS OK. YOU STUPID DISGUSTING liar, liar, liar, liar”.starts crying.

- Mike says “i never gave up on you (to El). “ When moments earlier he says “it took her just like it took Bob.” HE’S LYING AGAIN. He always thought she was dead -he was just hoping she was alive so he didn’t have to blame himself. He felt bad for treating her like a “weapon”. Mike saw El and didn’t even bother looking for her in the woods cause he assumed she was dead and was hallucinating. Mike saw Will’s dead body- but heard his voice and got him from another dimension (for El he couldn’t even bother to walk into the woods). Despite going into the woods in the pouring rain 2x for Will in s1& 3. El and Mike both call for Mike in the upside down (Mike in the same ep only comes for Will).

- They barely spoke to each other and all they did was makeout for 1 ep (while Mike put a drawing of ‘Will (the fire wielding) wise’ on the wall to help him kiss her/ with rainbows pic everywhere in the room to signify he’s gay and lying).  All while listening to a mixtape Will gave him as he kisses El.As Mike moves her hands off him (and sings a song from ‘boy in the box’) and El says to Max later she doesn’t know if mike’s a good kisser . And Mike rushes to one of his many established double-dates with Will and lumax  (x). And Mike in s3 when dating el, removes the sign of the heart being propelled by a rainbow (which he had before meeting El in his basement) .BUT it follows him symbolically ,as a drawing of a heart being propelled by a rainbow (in el’s room- cause no matter how much he kisses el there, he can’t escape his rainbow/being gay.)

-as mileven kiss in s3 e1. We zoom in on the drawing of Will the wise (the lyrics over the pic are “a little more time can open closing doors”). And then Mike continues to sing this song from ‘boy in the box’ (cough closet).Will in s3e1 says he won’t fall in love and the song then a diff song plays “love that was new to you , you open up the door.” mileven at the end of s3 kissing in front of Will’s open closet door with Mike’s eyes open not kissing back , and saying he doesn’t “ remember “ the love you and just says it was “in the heat of the moment”. The mike song being from “boy in the box” (closet). And they make out to “I can’t fight this feeling” which the singer says is about wanting to admit your feelings to your friend of many years and being afraid it’ll ruin the relationship. Aka even when kissing El he’s thinking of Will and admitting his feelings and not being able to fight his feelings

- Mike saying about Max “awesome? you don’t even know her.” Dustin says “ i don’t have to i mean look at her.” El was said in s1 multiple times to look like a boy (specifically Will). So Dustin and Lucas had no interest in her -only Mike did. BUT when max (a girl who looked like a girl) arrived- they as straight boys  were smitten. And Mike was not interested at all (cause he’s gay). The fact people don’t realize Mike was rude to her because he thought Will liked her too makes me laugh - he even was 1/2 honest in s3 saying he was jealous of her  XD 

why in s3 (when she looks like a girl) the compliment to her look is almost the same as Hopper’s comment to her makeover in s2. Paralleling Mike to her dad is the opposite of romantic!

-people say in s3 Will saying “a day free of girls” is gay coded but everyone ignores Mike in s3 saying “BOYS ONLY”. Same energy.

-MiKE has more rainbows than Will: Mike’s rainbow bedroom blinds, the rainbow-heart wooden sign in the basement in s1, the rainbow heart drawing that says Mike in s3, a rainbow sticker in his room, byler standing behind a rainbow poster in s2. And Will with the rainbow ship and the girl he danced with having a rainbow hearts-hairclip.

- People mention Mike saving El in s3 was romantic ( when he hit Billy). But when Billy slapped max he charged in to save her too and tried punching him (despite their beef). that moment wasn’t romantic (unless you think madweheeler is- which no). Mike is just a good person- he also risked his life for dustin. He’s brave and will defend HIS FRIENDS. 

- we’re almost to the end for those not keeping tract mileven is compared to stancy, ted/karen,  karen/billy, stobin, Dart/Dustin, max &mike, barb/nancy, nancy & dustin, siblings & cousins & a parent/kid dynamic. And contrasted to byler.

- Finn, after s1, said the duffers told him,   Mike thinks of her as a “puppy/ “et” , and that Mileven was a  “first summer love thing”- foreshadowing what was mileven’s downfall during the Summer (aka s3). He repeats this “first summer love” phrase 2x.  Millie when he mentioned what the duffers said, rightfully thought the puppy thing was “awful”, but Finn was clearly told mileven doesn’t last -very early on.Summer love” by definition fails-as it only lasts during the summer.  

-It wasn’t a break it was a breakup. Like Max and Will said in response to Mike  “ she said she dumped your ass! That doesn’t sound like a break?!/ it wasn’t!’ Or El knocking all the candy out of the machine, except the kit kat Mike wanted. Slogan of kit-kat “ having a break , have a kit kat.” In other words, it was NOT a break. It was a breakup. Difference is - in s4 it’ll be El who can’t accept this fact , not Mike. Max having to correct El that Mike is her “ex boyfriend” after the breakup (in s3) foreshadows this.The other couples in s3 who fought -were always still paired together in framed shots (jancy/ lumax) were on a break (but got back together- by the end of s3,  not confident about their futures together, but they still have a distinction from mileven-based on such framing). That mileven didn’t get back together. El in s3 was always on her own and Mike was paired with Will (while the other couples were in frame). 

this could go on and on honestly. there’s so much other stuff proving mileven is not going to be endgame. Not to mention all of Mike’s queer coding (x) XD
