follow up to the last post:

it has been a long time since i was really active so i could be forgetting, but during the screening and q/a event last night Tommy gave us some very interesting info about the movie i had never seen on here before:

1. when pony pukes after finding out bob is dead, the vomit is mushroom soup

2. in one of the church scenes when pony says “there’s monsters outside” and the camera cuts to a raccoon, it’s because during shooting a piece of equipment (a dolly) fell through the floor and made a loud noise, and FFC wanted them to act no matter what until he called cut

3. the hair cutting was real

4. the hat that tb picks up outside johnny’s house blew off of a camera man’s head

5. in the rumble scene, it had been choreographed and rehearsed for weeks and pony was supposed to actually fight, and the hit that knocks him down at the very beginning was an accident that they just kept shooting through

6. the sunset scene was shot twice, once with an actual sunset and once with a screen projecting one. the projected sunset is the one we see

7. the girl at dq who asks for 15 cents is SOPHIA COPPOLA

i havent touched this account in years and most of my mutuals are long gone, but something happened this week that i couldn’t not share. i was 13 when i got into the outsiders fandom and am now an almost 20 year old college student. AND YESTERDAY MY FRIENDS AND I MET TOMMY HOWELL!! i made some wonderful friends this last year of college and we coincidentally found out that we all went hard for the book and the movie (one was even on tumblr at one point). so for any of you who remember me from like 2019, here’s my peak:
