…“Then it’s "for sale.”“

Whether you’re having a garage or yard sale  for the 1st or 2nd time or planning to go to one for the first, second or tenth time where ever you are; now that the temperatures are warming up sales are typically happening now until the weather cools way down during the weekends.  A garage sale  is a great way to get to know neighbors, downsize on stuff that’s not “sparking joy”, raise money in a unique way for a cause or for yourself or family and unequivocally to give items a new life for someone else.  If you are thinking about having a garage sale or going to one in the near future here are some tips in a nutshell and embedded site  by Aaron LaPedis  that will aid you:

1.  Have huge signage

2.  Be specific in your signage

3.  Saturate your signs

4.  PROMOTE!

5.  Be aware of the $5 over and under rule

6.  Know what your stuff is worth

Bobby Debarge

Melodies so sweet and at times upbeat, words so transparent in their ballads so alluring. Just by hearing the name Debarge puts a smile on your face.  The Debarge family  : Bobby Debarge , El Debarge , Bunny Debarge , James Debarge, Mark and Randy Debarge  have always been dedicated and lovely artists.  Everyone has contributed to group’s success including Bobby whom the TV One  biopic is centered around.  Bobby and Tommy Debarge  were apart of the 1970′s R&B group Switch .  They later were producers on their sibling’s albums.  

Together they created hits such as 1982′s  “All this Love”  which was 17 on the Billboard Top 200.  Eldra (El ) Debarge, got a chance to have a song as a solo artist on the 1986 film “Short Circuit” starring Steve Guttenberg and Ally Sheedy  titled “Who’s Johnny”.  Debarge released  “Rhythm of the Night”, in April of 1985 with El singing lead.  This was apart of the soundtrack for the film “The Last Dragon”.  

Even though the biopic will hopefully highlight the group’s successes and solo endeavors, conversely there were personal hardships they encountered collectively and alone with Bobby being so affected causing inner turmoil.  It’s tough to still the inner demons, but with time and forgiveness those demons will no longer serve a place in our lives.

The 2019 Sexual Assault Awareness event took place this April at Xavier University in Cincinnati,OH and appropriately titled “My Voice, My Truth, My Power.”  There were many voices that stood up and expressed themselves at this event through personal accounts and spoken word/singing male and female.  One individual used his gifts of melody and spoken word to express how anyone who has ever been harmed by sexual assault has value.
