In a sense, Fleetwood Mac can be compared to another group: Shalamar, namely because both groups had frequent lineup changes that affected their ascension from star band to superstar band.
Back in 2009, TVONE's Unsung series highlighted how the latter group's changes (plus some jarring allegations that Jeffrey Daniels abused Jody Watley that the show left out) derailed their chances at superstardom as it went from a disco group to an R&B group in the early '80s.
The contrast is that the frequent lineup changes actually helped Fleetwood Mac to become superstars as it went being a British blues band to a Transatlantic arena rock band. It was last spring when I was able to listen to just how different Fleetwood Mac sounded when Peter Green still led the group.

The Soul of Sigma
Recording this album at Sigma Sound Studios was more than just a musical session—it was a pilgrimage to the heart of Philly soul. Walking through those legendary halls, where so many iconic sounds were born, was both humbling and electrifying. This project was not only an homage to that era but also a testament to the enduring magic of the Philly soul phenomenon.
I was honored to collaborate with some of the finest musical minds to ever grace the genre: DJ Miz, whose vision helped shape the beats and spirit of this record; the late Joe Tarsia, the sonic genius who built the Sigma legacy from the ground up; his son, the late Michael Tarsia, who carried that legacy forward with the same passion and precision; and the incomparable Bobby Eli, whose guitar and production work shaped the very foundation of Philly soul’s global impact. Though these titans are no longer with us, their spirit infused every note we recorded.
The Philly International Records era, spearheaded by the unstoppable duo of Gamble and Huff, was a movement, not just a label. The sound that emerged—lush strings, soulful grooves, and unrelenting rhythm—set the world on fire in the 1970s, giving us artists like Teddy Pendergrass, The O’Jays, Patti LaBelle, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, and so many more. Their work wasn’t just music; it was a force that connected hearts and told stories of love, struggle, and triumph.
For me, this record is a tribute to that legacy, a celebration of the sound that not only defined a city but transcended borders and generations. Joe, Michael, and Bobby may have left this earth, but their brilliance will forever echo in the grooves of records like this, and in the spirit of anyone who dares to dream and create. Thank you for sharing this journey with me and for keeping the soul alive.
This one’s for Philly. Always.

Day 30 - A song you never get tired of
30 days song challenge
Gaberasa udah 30 hari aja ikutan challenge ini! Seruuu yah jadi nostalgia sama lagu2nya sambil mikir yg match sama temanya hihi.. Challenge terakhir nih!
Wah apa aja yah bingung. Banyak soalnya.. Terbukti kan penyuka lagu lama jadi playlistnya ya lagu2 dulu berarti ngga pernah cape/bosen dengerinnya dong hehehe
Gapernah bosen sih dengerin warning sign mah! Lagi ngga galau juga rasanya pengen on repeat terus sambil nyanyi lalu tiba2 sedih, wkwk yagajugasich
Cuma satu2nya lagu melody's echo chamber yg gapernah bosen dengerinnya. Eh emg cuma tau satu lagu aja sih dr band ini haha. Luvvvv sekali!
Kesukaan bgt ini Sunday morning. Pas bgt diplay kalo lg hujan pagi2 trus pas minggu pula haha biar sesuai judul. Bisa diulang2 muluuu inimah
Ooo.. Oowww.. Lagu Padi terfavvv gapernah bosen juga. Dari dulu pas kelas 2 SMA udah candu, sampe skrg masih sama hwhwhw
Album Dunia Batas mah ngga ada yg gagal smua tracklistnya. Walupun beberapa lagu nyomot dari album pertama yg self titled. Lagu Menuju Senja ini sipaling gapernah bosen dengerinnya.
Payung teduh! Tau band ini dari acara Radio Show Tvone. Ih dulu mah ada acara bagus gitu ya, band2 indie dikasih acara di tv lokal manggung live trus ada interviewnya jg. Langsung jadi acara fav, kalogasalah circa 2012 deh lupa. Burger kill, Gugun blues Shelter, Dialog Dini Hari, The Sigit ah msh bnyk lg bnyk bgt.. Tapi sayang acaranya sebentar ngga bertahan lama, krn Tvone fokusnya sama berita aja keknya. Pas liat Payung Teduh, ih apanih meni syahdu lagu2nya haa.. Yg self titled itu ada Amy, Kita Adalah Sisa-Sis Keikhlasan Yang tak Diikhlaskan, Cerita Tentang Gunung dan Laut. Yg kojonya sih Resah yaa sampe masuk di album Dunia batas jg. Tapi yg paling candu menurutku sih yaa Menuju Senja! Nonton Live mreka wkt Is belom keluar, disuruh duduk sama Is menikmatinya sambil sing along~

Jodeci 💿 Diary Of A Mad Band
Growing up, I more so heard about Jodeci and their impact versus recognizing it on my own. The artists I enjoyed would always bring up Jodeci and constantly gave them credit. Of course I knew and liked some of the singles. But I liked them just as much as After 7, Rude Boys, A Few Good Men etc. I didn't quite understand why Jodeci was sooooo revered.
Back in my 2009-2010 twitter days I tweeted something like "When I look at artists that were popular back in the day and where they are now, I wonder how that will happen to popular artists today." Jodeci was who I had in mind when I tweeted that. Like I mentioned, almost every artist I listened to would always big up Jodeci. But when I see them it's the apology song/video with the Mary J. Blige lookalike, Life After on tvone type stuff, Devante Swing and the tattoo on his face, Come Clean reality show etc. So I was confused.
Time passed on. I heard You Bring Me Up and Don't Rush (Take Love Slowly) and bought the K-Ci and JoJo album. I grew to love it. Then I wanted some Jodeci.
Bought this cd, listened to it...and yeah. The high reverence, respect and praise that I would always hear Jodeci get...very well deserved. This cd is just...I have no words. And now I don't view it as a negative thing when I see an artist go through the peaks and valleys of public perception/reception after major success. Just ride the wave and in time the work will always speak for itself. You couldn't have told me that one day I'd become a Jodeci fan.
