What do you think about SeaWorld San Diego’s new Beluga In-Water Interaction program for guests? Most facilities, including SeaWorld itself, seem to be moving away from having trainers in the water with larger cetaceans (dolphins notwithstanding), so this seems like an odd move to me. The program was made available on their website just a couple of months ago, Idk if they’re going to offer it at the other SW parks or not. I’ve been having an internal debate, can’t decide if it’s good or bad
Excellent question! In-water interactions are a hot button issue in the cetacean management world, one that even marine mammals professionals don’t always agree on. I’m personally fine with in-water programs as long as certain precautions are taken:
-The animals are never forced to interact and are free to leave the encounter at any time. This is a given with cetaceans
they will literally just swim away if they’re not feeling it. I did an out-of-water interaction with the late Imaq at Georgia Aquarium and he peaced out halfway through the program to go say hi to a trainer on the other side of the habitat before causally circling back.
-Guests wear wetsuits or coveralls provided by the facility, since this reduces the chances that foreign materials or pathogens are introduced into the habitat. Bonus points if they’re required to shower in and out!
-Groups are small and a limited number of programs occur a day. It looks like San Diego only has one in-water session per day with a maximum of 8 guests. They have 3 belugas at the park and likely rotate them, so the guest interactions are probably more of a novel experience for the whales than a tedious task.
-Unruly or uncooperative guests are immediately removed from the program (which is a given)! Never, ever touch an encounter animal until given express permission by the trainer.
In addition to SeaWorld, Shedd and Georgia Aquariums both offer in-water belugas encounters, so they’re certainly in good company. There are a few older studies that demonstrate bottlenose dolphins have positive reactions to in-water programs with guests, but I’m unaware if any have been performed with belugas.
Hope this helps, and sorry that it’s literally months late 😅

'There will be no fresh helpings of The White Lotus, The Last of Us or even Emily in Paris beaming into front rooms when summer fades. Nor will a screen version of the musical Wicked, starring Ariana Grande, be showing in your local cinema in the spring. And all shooting on Gladiator 2 in Morocco is likely to be indefinitely paused. Already, the wails are almost audible.
On this, the first weekend of the American screen actors’ strike, the level of frustration registered by film and TV drama fans around the world has dwarfed earlier reactions to the equivalent writers’ strike, running since the beginning of May.
Since negotiations collapsed in Los Angeles on Thursday, the gloves are off in a fight over the way the streaming services are seen to be pushing down pay and investing in the use of artificial intelligence in production.
And if an industrial relations struggle benefits from a dose of charisma, then the battle to secure the income of the talent behind a large proportion of the world’s streaming content suddenly has much more of the right ingredient. On Friday, George Clooney became the latest celebrity to back the campaign. “Actors and writers in large numbers have lost their ability to make a living,” the actor said, going on to speak of “an inflection point in our industry”.
The recognisability of many of the faces now taking a stand, from Clooney to Margot Robbie and Brian Cox, compared to their counterparts inside the writers’ rooms, has brought the Hollywood dispute to the top of the international news agenda. Productions involving leading American talent, stalled in many countries ever since work on scripts has been prohibited, will now probably grind to a near standstill. And the actors say they are prepared for a long fight.
Among them is Barbie star Robbie, who has stepped out of promotional events, and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon, who argued this weekend that “the issues of streaming and AI are things that have to be dealt with now”. “We’re in an old contract for a new type of business and it’s just not working for most people,” the actor told reporters in New York.
Sarandon’s words follow a protest move in London on Thursday when the stars of the new Christopher Nolan film, Oppenheimer, walked out of the premiere. Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh left with Matt Damon, whose new production company with Ben Affleck is also set to suffer, he said. The cast had the support of the British director Nolan, who has spoken of the moment being ripe for action. Monday’s red carpet event ahead of the New York premiere of Nolan’s film is also cancelled. “In support of the ongoing SAG strike, the film-makers of Oppenheimer will instead screen the movie to celebrate the crew and craftspeople who contributed to making this film,” said a statement from Universal.
Festivals and fan events are threatened too. Organisers of the Toronto International film festival still hope it will go ahead in early September and have told the BBC: “The impact of this strike on the industry and events like ours cannot be denied. We urge our partners and colleagues to resume an open dialogue.” The Venice festival schedulednext month is also in jeopardy, and San Diego’s Comic-Con could be held without its main attraction – celebrities.
On Friday, more than 160,000 members of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (Sag-Aftra) stopped work, joining the 11,500 members of the Writers Guild of America in the biggest strike for more than 60 years. Both writers and actors were negotiating with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers over residuals, the payments made when a show or film is repeated. Streaming services such as Netflix have large audiences because of their big libraries of films and shows and yet they pay much less in residuals than broadcast television.
Actor Fran Drescher, the serving president of Sag-Aftra known for her role in The Nanny, claims responses from studio and streaming bosses so far have been “insulting and disrespectful”.
Her sentiments have been echoed by Cox, the Scottish actor behind Succession’s ruthless Logan Roy. “If our residuals go down, it means our health insurance isn’t going to be met,” he said on Friday. “The streaming services have shot themselves in the foot because they’ve said, ‘We’re going very well on this front.’ And when we called them to task and said, ‘What about our residuals, what about our money?’ everything kind of closes down and
you know, it’s not going to happen.”
Cox also attacked plans to use AI programming to replicate talent. “There would never be an original voice,” he argued, citing the British writer behind Succession, Jesse Armstrong, and Mike White, the creator and sole writer of The White Lotus. “It would be some kind of copy monkey of the show. And that is unacceptable.”
If screen talent is now playing its part to the full, then the tough-talking industry moguls are also getting into character. On Thursday, ahead of the strike, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger told CNBC that stoppages had come at “the worst time in the world”. “There’s a level of expectation that they have that is just not realistic, and they are adding to a set of challenges that this business is already facing, that is quite frankly, very disruptive,” he said.'

LTL Trucking in Southern California: A Vital Link in Regional Supply Chains
Less-than-truckload (LTL) trucking plays a critical role in Southern California's bustling economy. Serving as the backbone for many industries, LTL trucking allows businesses to ship smaller quantities of goods without requiring a full truckload. This system benefits businesses of all sizes by offering flexible and cost-effective transportation solutions. Given Ltl Trucking Southern California position as a logistics hub, LTL trucking companies are an indispensable part of the region’s economy, facilitating efficient distribution across industries such as retail, manufacturing, and e-commerce.
The Demand for LTL Trucking in Southern California
Southern California is home to several key cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, and Riverside, which serve as hubs for regional, national, and international trade. The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, two of the busiest in the world, bring in vast quantities of goods that must be distributed throughout the U.S. LTL trucking plays a crucial role in ensuring that smaller shipments from these ports reach their final destinations on time.
Local manufacturers, e-commerce businesses, and retailers all benefit from LTL services, as they frequently ship goods that don’t fill a standard 53-foot trailer. By consolidating freight from multiple customers, LTL carriers optimize their load, reducing overall costs and lowering the carbon footprint of transportation. The rise of e-commerce has also contributed to the increasing demand for LTL trucking, as online retailers often need to move smaller parcels across shorter distances to meet consumer demand for quick delivery.
Key Advantages of LTL Trucking in Southern California
Cost-Effectiveness: Instead of paying for an entire truckload, businesses can share truck space with others, lowering transportation costs. LTL trucking allows for the transportation of smaller shipments without the financial burden of hiring a full truck for relatively fewer goods.
Efficient Transit Times: LTL trucking companies often maintain tight, scheduled routes, which results in consistent and predictable transit times. For Southern California’s fast-paced industries, this level of reliability is crucial in ensuring smooth supply chain operations.
Environmental Benefits: As the region grapples with pollution and sustainability concerns, LTL trucking presents an eco-friendly alternative. By combining shipments, fewer trucks are on the road, which means reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions.
Flexibility and Scalability: One of the greatest advantages of LTL trucking is the ability to scale shipping needs. Whether a business is shipping just a few pallets or several, LTL trucking companies offer adaptable solutions that can meet varying demands without requiring a full truckload.
Technology and Innovation in LTL Trucking
Technology is transforming the LTL trucking industry, especially in Southern California, where companies are leveraging automation, GPS tracking, and real-time data analytics to enhance service efficiency. These innovations help businesses monitor the status of their shipments, optimize routes, and reduce operational costs. LTL carriers are also adopting sustainable practices by incorporating electric and hybrid trucks into their fleets, further supporting California's stringent environmental goals.
Challenges Facing the LTL Industry
Despite its many benefits, the LTL trucking industry faces challenges in Southern California Ftl Trucking Services. Congestion on the region’s highways, particularly around major ports, can delay transit times. Additionally, labor shortages in the trucking industry, combined with rising fuel costs, continue to pose obstacles for carriers. However, industry leaders are tackling these challenges by investing in technology, expanding terminal networks, and improving driver recruitment efforts.

LTL trucking is a vital component of Southern California’s logistics and transportation infrastructure. By offering a cost-effective, flexible, and sustainable solution, LTL carriers play a key role in keeping goods moving efficiently throughout the region. As the economy continues to grow and evolve, particularly with the rise of e-commerce and advanced manufacturing, the demand for LTL trucking services will only increase, making it an essential part of the region’s supply chain.

Sapporo-Stone Brewing provides updates on their first phase of expansion.
Tumblr media
Press Release
ESCONDIDO, CA ... Two years following the announcement of its acquisition by Sapporo U.S.A., San Diego-based Sapporo-Stone Brewing, unveils the near completion of phase one of its expansion project at its Escondido brewery. The $20 million investment in the Escondido, CA facility is one of two significant investments for growth with $40 million invested in the company’s Richmond, VA operation. These investments will result in the doubling of the company’s capacity to about 700,000 barrels a year across its bi-coastal breweries. The brewing of Sapporo beers in Escondido, CA and Richmond, VA is now underway.
Stone Brewing, Southern California’s largest craft brewery was acquired by Sapporo U.S.A. in 2022. The goal was to transition from an importer to a U.S. brewer, ultimately brewing, selling, and marketing all of Sapporo’s beers for the U.S. market locally. Richmond’s expansion will be unveiled this fall. By late summer, all production of Sapporo beers will have moved from Canada and Asia to the U.S.
Sapporo-Stone Brewing is now a combined team of nearly 850 employees, about 600 of whom are based in San Diego County. In support of its expansion project, the company added 125 jobs locally and another 75 outside of San Diego County. More than 150 team members have been promoted or moved into new or expanded roles since the acquisition.
“Operationally, this acquisition looks a lot like a merger,” stated Zach Keeling, Sapporo-Stone Brewing Interim CEO. “Our two companies are now fully integrated – Innovating, brewing, selling, marketing, and operating as a single, combined business. The Sapporo and Stone Brewing brands will maintain their individual identities, but we are Sapporo-Stone in name, operations, and culture.”
The Escondido expansion project includes additional tanks and packaging lines to increase capacity and efficiency. On the West Coast Sapporo-Stone now operates out of its two Escondido brewing and packaging buildings and a distribution warehouse with offices also in Escondido. It occupies additional warehouse space in San Marcos, CA and Downey, CA. The company operates two Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens and five Stone Brewing Tap Rooms. On the East Coast, Sapporo-Stone operates another brewery, an off-site warehouse, and a Stone Brewing Tap Room all in Richmond, VA.
Now the nation’s 12th largest brewery by volume* Sapporo-Stone Brewing aims for a top 10 ranking. Finding growth in the beer market is challenging as craft consolidates and alcohol drinkers explore countless new innovations, but Sapporo-Stone’s craft-meets-import portfolio sets the company apart. In both the Import and Craft categories, Sapporo and Stone are gaining share over the last year. Sapporo is the number one selling Asian beer brand in the U.S., with sales up +13.1%, nearly double the growth of the Import category, +6.7%.** Most of this growth is attributed to its flagship Sapporo Premium. Stone’s best sellers include the Stone Delicious IPA family of beers, Stone IPA and Stone Buenaveza Salt & Lime Lager. These Stone core brands are also growing, up 13.2%.***
At its Escondido Open House event on May 21, 2024, Hiro Kitaoka, Sapporo-Stone Brewing Chairman stated, “Stone Brewing is among the world’s most recognizable and celebrated craft breweries. We admire the team’s innovative spirit, passion, and world-class brewing expertise. We are proud to continue the legacy of Stone and honored to have this full team’s commitment to the Sapporo brand. We are stronger together, and proud to be a growing San Diego business.”
Stone Brewing was among San Diego’s pioneering craft brewers and is credited for bringing national and international attention to San Diego as a thriving craft beer city. In its early years, the team fostered collaboration through the formation of Stone Distributing Company to distribute small craft brands. It curated countless invitational beer festivals, served guest beers on tap, and played a founding role in the San Diego Brewers Guild. Stone Brewing continues to host local craft beer events and festivals and to offer creative craft innovations like its Stone One Batch Dispatch beers alongside its year-round beers available nationwide and in 50+ countries. Locally-brewed Sapporo beers can be enjoyed and purchased at all Stone Brewing locations.

Another business relationship that Alex and Jon have is Brotherly Love Real Estate.

Press Kit for Breakdown (1997), including production info excerpt.
Breakdown Press Kit Excerpt
The American Southwest is a land of vast, desolate spaces and rugged terrain. sometimes beautiful. but always harsh and unyielding. Its long, lonely highways stretch to the horizon and beyond. with a hundred miles and more from one tiny oasis of civilization to the next.
What happens if your car breaks down on one of the West's remote back roads. and you are stranded alone in the desert, under the merciless sun? "Breakdown." starring Kurt Russell. J.T. Walsh and Kathleen Quinlan is a taut, suspenseful action thriller that cleverly preys upon one's paranoia of being stranded miles from any vestige of civilization.
"Breakdown" is produced by Martha and Dino De Laurentis from a story by Jonathan Mostow. The Paramount Pictures presentation in association with Dino De Laurentiis and Spelling Films is directed by Jonathan Mostow from a screenplay by Jonathan Mostow and Sam Montgomery. The executive producers are Jonathan Fernandez and Harry Colomby. The film will be distributed by Spelling Films International outside the U.S. and Canada. Paramount Pictures is part of the entertainment operations of Viacom Inc.. which also owns a majority interest in Spelling Entertainment Group Inc.. Spelling Films' parent company.
When Jeff (Kurt Russell) sets off cross-country from Boston to San Diego with his wife Amy (Kathleen Quinlan), he thinks he is leaving his troubles behind and moving on towards fantastic new beginnings.
Then, while taking the 'scenic route' through the beautiful but vast, desolate spaces of the desert Southwest, their car breaks down. Jeff and Amy find themselves stranded on a seldom-traveled road, many miles from the nearest human habitation.
Fortunately, help appears at hand as an 18 wheeler semi truck comes into view on the horizon.
The driver is Red (J.T. Walsh), an over-the-road trucker. Immaculate and professional, he seems to harken back to a time when long-haul truckers were "knights of the road." He offers Jeff and Amy a ride to Belle's Diner, the nearest place along this lonely stretch of highway, where they can escape the hot sun and call for a tow truck.
After initial hesitation, Amy agrees to go with him, since it's obvious there might not be any other way to get help; she'll call the tow truck from the restaurant while Jeff waits with the car.
In the meantime, Jeff locates the problem - a loose wire - and fixes it. With the car back in working order, he drives on to Belle's Diner to catch up with Amy so they can continue on their way... but Amy isn't there. The diner isn't exactly a bustling place, yet the bartender and customers claim they never saw either Amy or Red. When Jeff continues to question them, he gets only cold stares and furtive glances - as though he were delusional. driven crazy by the heat and the long lonely highways. Jeff’s growing anxiety is only made worse by his gnawing suspicion that they aren't telling him the truth.
Getting back on the road, Jeff searches for Red's truck - but when he finds it, Red who just hours before so charmingly offered his assistance, denies ever having seen Jeff or his wife. The police are of no help. as they view Amy's disappearance skeptically They've seen many couples fight and split while making long distance car trips. Who's to say this is anv different?
With nowhere and no one to turn to. Jeff sets forth on his determined. increasingly desperate search for Amy - who has vanished utterly into the immense, sun baked emptiness of the West.
If only the car hadn't broken down in the middle of nowhere

"Breakdown" takes an ordinary man into the vast open spaces where the law does not reach - - and into the dark spaces of the human soul.
According to producer Dino De Laurentis, "everybody can be in this situation. Thousands of people disappear in the United States every year and nobody knows where they go." To Martha De Laurentis, "this story has real characters put into a situation that could happen to anyone. You're traveling in a car and it breaks down in the middle of nowhere. You've tried to fix it yourself and that doesn't work, so what do you do?"
Writer-director Mostow recounts the genesis of his story: "When I wrote this script, I wanted to explore the universal feeling of unease that people get when they're out in the middle of no place. far from home. far from civilized society. far from a place where rules and cops protect you."
Mostow's partnership with the De Laurentis occurred when Dino De Laurentis, whose work includes more than 500 films in four decades, among them "The Bible." "War and Peace." "Serpico." "Three Days of the Condor." "King Kong," "Blue Velvet." "Conan The Barbarian." "The Valachi Papers," "Crimes of the Heart" and "Bound." saw the filmmakers first directorial effort. "I like to use my experience with a younger director." says De Laurents. "and when I saw Jon Mostow's first film, 'Flight of Black Angel, I wanted his next picture."
Another key decision according to De Laurents and Mostow was casting the part of Jeff Taylor. Says Dino De Laurentis: "Jeff is an odd hero to begin the picture since he is a normal human being who is not looking for trouble. He suddenly finds himself in a position where he must find the courage and strength to save his wife.
When the audience sees this picture. they will be able to see that they could be in a similar situation tomorrow if they're driving while on vacation." De Laurents and Mostow decided at once that they wanted Kurt Russell for the part. "Within a week we had an answer from Kurt," he says. "and we were making this picture."
Casting Kurt Russell as Jeff Taylor was pivotal in making this movie believable to audiences. Says Martha De Laurents. who has teamed with Dino De Laurentiis since the production of "Ragtime." "Kurt is every man's actor. He's vulnerable so that men can relate to him and he's handsome so that women like him. The emotion he brings to this character is perfect for this story about a situation that could happen to anybody.” Adds uniter-director Mostow. "Kurt can convey that emotion in a way that you care about."
Dino De Laurentis reputation is what brought mega-star Russell onto the production. According to Russell. "He is one of the few people in this town that -- just out of my own interest - when I'm an old man I'd like to say. I worked with Dino De Laurentiis. Dino has an ingrained passion for movie making that this town always, always, always desperately needs."
Russell, whose wide range of work includes "Silkwood," "Stargate,” "Tombstone” and John Carpenter's Escape From L.A.." explains why he liked the role. "The whole point of this movie is to make this a relatable concept for everyone. It's basically about the fear that something like this could happen, does happen when you're driving in the middle of nowhere. I liked the credibility of what the character does. The actions he takes are very believable. though strictly personal to him - the same as yours would be different from mine. By putting the audience in a situation they can relate to, hopefully they will see portions of themselves and be able to experience some of their worst fears and nightmares.
Kathleen Quinlan, nominated for an Oscar for her role in "Apollo 13," plays Amy Taylor. Says Quinlan, "Amy is intelligent and strong. She loves her husband, and knows that they are at a crossroads and that she must be decisive. When she leaves in Red's truck. she feels she's taken action to help them out of their situation."
Mostow elaborates on casting Quinlan: "I wanted everything in this movie to feel real and truthful. I wanted a real person that could be married to Kurt's character: not some damsel in distress. Kathleen has turned out to be fabulous."
J.T. Walsh, recently seen in Oliver Stone's "Nixon." plays Red, the seeming Good Samaritan trucker who offers the couple his assistance. According to Walsh: "Red is an ethically challenged, Good Samaritan who is presented with an opportunity. Driving a truck is a hard living and out in the wide open spaces of the barren Southwest. there's not too many people or policemen which makes it easier for him to operate on his own terms.”
Also featured in the cast are such notable actors as Jack Noseworthy as Billy.' M.C. Gainey as Earl and Ritch Brinkley as Al.' They represent many of the unsavory people one might run into at a roadside diner or small-town bar while on the road. and their hostile demeanors help feed the paranoia of being a stranger in a foreign land.
According to Mostow. They re victimizing people that are traveling long distances and they've been getting away with it."
Doug Milsome, B.S.C.. who has worked extensively with Stanley Kubrick and most recently with Michael Cimino on "Sun Chaser," served as the director of photography. Other key behind-the-scenes people include Victoria Paul ("Greedy") as production designer and Terry Dresbach ("Red Rock West") as costume designer.
Second unit director Jim Amert ("Congo." "Basic Instinct") coordinated the stunt sequences while Jeffrey Sudzin ("Bound") served as line producer. Film editing was performed by editors Derek Brechin (*Stargate") and Kevin Stitt ("Nick of Time").
J.T. WALSH (Red Barr) most recently appeared in "Sling Blade" for which he and the rest of the cast were nominated for a SAG award for "Outstanding Performance by the Cast of a Theatrical Motion Picture.
Walsh began his career off-Broadway. appearing in such productions as "Ice." “Half A Lifetime" and the Obie Award-winning " American Buffalo." He shot to fame with his memorable performance as one of the corrupt realtors in David Marter's "Glengarry Glen Ross." Other Broadway credits include **Macbeth." "Rose." "Richard III and "Last Licks."
Since moving to feature films, Walsh has worked with Sidney Lumet in “Power," Robert Towne in "Tequila Sunrise," David Mamet in "House of Games," Barry Levinson in "Tin Men," and "Good Morning, Vietnam," Ron Howard in "Backdraft," Rob Reiner in "A Few Good Men," Joel Schumacher in "The Client," Wolfgang Peterson in "Outbreak," and Oliver Stone in "Nixon." Some of Walsh's other feature credits include "The Grifters," "Red Rock West," "The Big Picture," "Narrow Margin," "Hoffa," "Blue Chips," "Miracle on 34th Street," "Outbreak," "Executive Decision," and "Nixon."
He currently stars as 'Frank Bach’, the ominous Navy Captain in the series "Dark Skies." (1997)

We know that keeping bad habits is much more costly than creating good habits. So, while we record and analyze our safety metrics, our fundamental objective is to create patterns and systems that ingrain safe behaviors. A continuous, ever evolving process, it goes something like this our safety process. The stakes couldn’t be higher. Our people. Our environment. Our customers. These are the heart of our business. These are our real assets. And so, we have every reason to want to operate safely and every intention of preventing any harm. Of course, in the real world, that’s easier said than done.
We take pride in our willingness to work with our customers to accommodate their unique needs. And, we have been known to bend over backwards to rise to a challenge. Another was transporting giant windmill blades across the ocean. Other unconventional projects include building a coal unloading system for one customer and helping another construct a new bridge across San Diego.  For more information, please visit our site https://www.Pacificmaritimegroup.com/

I can't believe the last time I had an entry was when the first time I caught gabe gaslighting me. I really should've just called it at that but NOPE I kept it going because I thought having company and help with moving would've been grand. and it truly was but the truth is, the guy was borderline bipolar and crazy. And I think I knew that front the start but told myself that if I just censored myself and understood that he was crazy, maybe it won't be so bad because it was temporary. But I mean...he said some pretty unhinged things. To this day, I'm here sitting like "did he really think he was fooling anyone but himself? I think he actually thought people believed all the stupid things he said like how international tickets just so happened to be cheap the day I leave san diego and that I shouldn't compare my move to his "life changing trip" Not sure what he means by that but I'll never forget what he said.
So I'm not gonna lie. I've been here for almost a week and it's been lovely don't get me wrong, but I kind of miss my routine back at home. I thought I would be better at spanish by now but here I am burnt the fuck out. I dont want to speak english but I just feel like I've plateaued in my learning and I borderline think the teacher's teaching style sucks. Like she's not making learning creative or fun and I can almost feel the same from Rico and Fritz who have been around with different teachers. So here I am trying to get a spanish teacher. I can afford her 3 times a week thank god, but we'll go ahead and give it a try Thursday first and then I'll go ahead and pause next week. Luckily, its moderately affordable living out here so I'm not exactly in a rush to go back. In fact, yesterday I did laser hair removal and surprisingly the lady spoke really good english. so here she is lasering my arm pits and it was legit nothing. So much so that I decided to do my legs also and it came out to fucking $11 USD. for both. I think I'll spend less money lasering my whole body than I do with one session of waxing back at home. I'll be here for the next session but I want to do my brazillian and since I JUST waxed a few days ago, I wasn't able to do it until next month. So I guess I'll just start here and either decide to stay another month or head home to continue my (more expensive) sessions there.

NASA astronaut Kayla Barron works inside the Life Science Glovebox conducting botany research.NASA As of spring 2023, NASA has invested greater than $60M in more than twenty In Space Production Applications (InSPA) awards to U.S. entities seeking to demonstrate the production of advanced materials and products on the International Space Station.  These InSPA awards help the selected companies raise the technological readiness level of their products and move them to market, propelling U.S. industry toward the development of a sustainable, scalable, and profitable non-NASA demand for services and products manufactured in the microgravity environment of low-Earth orbit for use on Earth. NASA Selects Proposals to Enable Manufacturing In Space for Earth (April 15, 2022) NASA Selects Proposals for In-Space Development of Projects Including Optical Fibers and Stem Cells and a Plan to Enable a Low-Earth Orbit Economy (April 7, 2020) Advanced Materials Flawless Photonics – Fabrication of Flawless Glass Contact: Dr. Michael VestelFlawless Photonics of Los Altos Hills, California, in partnership with the University of Adelaide, Axiom Space, and Visioneering Space has been selected for their proposal to develop specialized glass manufacturing hardware to process Heavy-Metal Fluoride Glasses (HMFG) in microgravity. HMFG glasses are used in the terrestrial manufacturing of exotic optical fibers and other optics applications. Without convective forces present in 1g, HMFG made in microgravity are expected to achieve the ideal amorphous microstructure during synthesis, eliminating light scattering defects that limit lasing power and transmission over long fiber lengths. Apsidal – Intelligent Glass Optics Contact: Dr. Amrit DeApsidal LLC. of Los Angeles, California, is developing the IGO module to process various types of complex glasses in space from which optical fibers, fiber lasers, magnetic fibers, super-continuum sources, capillary optics and adiabatic tapers can be drawn. One of the key innovations is a custom Laser Doppler Sensor for real-time in-situ analysis and feedback control of the manufacturing process. Additionally, this technology is Artificial Intelligence (AI) assisted to be adaptive and to optimize production in a low Earth orbit (LEO) environment. The microgravity environment of space is needed as gravity-induced material convection and sedimentation in complex glasses on Earth subsequently leads to unwanted crystallization, thus creating defects which reduce performance. Market areas for products from this module include specialty fibers for low-loss and high bandwidth communications, high-power fiber-amplifiers, IR counter measures, supercontinuum sources, medical applications, remote sensing, X-ray optics, and laser processing. Fiber Optic Manufacturing in Space – Space Fibers Contact: Dr. Dmitry StarodubovFOMS Inc of San Diego, California, has developed a facility-class instrument for fiber fabrication in the microgravity environment to improve the quality of specialty optical fibers with the promise of up to 100x reduction in insertion loss due to the suppression of crystallization and phase separation. Two previous iterations of the facility have flown to the space station, with the third generation scheduled to launch on the 25th SpaceX cargo resupply services mission in May 2022. Mercury Systems Torrance – Fiber Optic Production Contact: Eric RuckerMercury Systems of Torrance, California, has developed a facility-class instrument for fiber fabrication in the microgravity environment to improve the quality of specialty optical fibers with the promise of up to two orders of magnitude reduction in insertion loss compared to traditional SiO2 fibers due to the suppression of crystallization and sedimentation. The first generation of the facility has flown to the space station producing over 90m of ZBLAN optical fiber from a fluorinated exotic glass preform composed of Zirconium, Barium, Lanthanum, Aluminum, and Sodium (ZrF4-BaF2-LaF3-AlF3-NaF). The second-generation FOP-2 launches on SpaceX CRS-25 in May 2022 using a nitrogen purge previously demonstrated in reduced gravity on a parabolic flight. Redwire/Made In Space – Turbine Ceramic Manufacturing Module Contact: Justin KuglerMade In Space of Jacksonville, Florida, a Redwire company, is developing the TCMM to provide proof-of-principal for single-piece ceramic turbine blisk (blade + disk) manufacturing in microgravity for terrestrial use. Launched in October 2020 on Northrop Grumman’s CRS-14 mission, TCMM successfully demonstrated ceramic additive manufacturing in space for the first time in history. TCMM was also the first demonstration of stereolithography ceramic fabrication in space. The project focuses on advanced materials engineering ultimately leading to reductions in part mass, residual stress, and fatigue. Strength improvements of even 1-2 percent, as a result of being manufactured in microgravity, can yield years to decades of superior service life. Market applications include high performance turbines, nuclear plants, or internal combustion engines. Redwire/Made In Space – Turbine Superalloy Casting Module Made In Space of Jacksonville, Florida, a Redwire company, is developing the TSCM to provide proof of principle for polycrystal superalloy part manufacturing in microgravity for terrestrial use. Superalloys thermally processed in microgravity could have improved microstructure and mechanical properties over superalloys processed on Earth. This work expands utilization of the ISS National Lab into new commercial product areas not previously investigated. Delivered to space station on SpaceX CRS-24 in December 2021, TSCM investigates potential improvements in superalloy microstructure by heat treating in microgravity. Market applications include turbine engines in industries such as aerospace and power generation. Redwire/Techshot – Pharmaceutical In-space Laboratory  Contact: Rachel OrmsbyRedwire Corporation Inc. of Greenville, Indiana, has been selected for its proposal to produce small, uniform crystals as stable seed batches for pharmaceutical and institutional research customers seeking improvements/refinements in product purification, formulation and/or delivery using crystalline formulations. Their Pharmaceutical In-space Laboratory Bio-crystal Optimization Xperiment (PIL-BOX) Dynamic Microscopy Cassette (DMC) will be capable of testing multiple crystallization conditions and providing samples to be returned to Earth for analysis. When grown in microgravity, crystals are produced more uniformly and have very low size coefficients of variation thereby allowing a more stable crystal growth, high concentration, and low viscosity parenteral formulation. The proposed innovation will provide manufacturing services to companies, institutions, and agencies pursuing uniform crystallization research. United Semiconductors – Semimetal-Semiconductor Composite Bulk Crystals Contact: Dr. DuttaUnited Semiconductors of Los Alamitos, California, has been selected for their proposal to produce semimetal-semiconductor composite bulk crystals commonly used in electromagnetic sensors for solving challenges in the energy, high performance computing and national security sectors. Together with teammates Axiom Space of Houston and Redwire of Greenville, Indiana, United Semiconductors intends to validate the scaling and efficacy of producing larger semimetal-semiconductor composite crystals under microgravity conditions with perfectly aligned and continuous semimetal wires embedded across the semiconductor matrix. If successful at eliminating defects found in those manufactured with terrestrial materials, United Semiconductors will have developed a processing technology for creating device-ready wafers from space-grown crystals. Optical Micrograph depicting the expected morphology of Semimetal-Semiconductor Composite (SSC) wafers to be extracted from space grown bulk crystals. The continuous semimetal needles embedded in semiconductor matrix will provide high yield of high-performance electromagnetic sensors. Currently this desirable morphology is seen only in a small fraction of the terrestrial grown bulk crystals. Space grown bulk crystals is anticipated to provide a significant volume of the desirable morphology. United Semiconductors LLC Optical Micrograph depicting the morphology of Semimetal-Semiconductor Composite (SSC) wafers extracted from terrestrial grown bulk crystals. Discontinuous semimetal needles embedded in semiconductor matrix leads to poor yield of high-performance electromagnetic sensors.United Semiconductors LLC Redwire/Made In Space – Industrial Crystallization Facility Contact: Justin KuglerMade In Space of Jacksonville, Florida, a Redwire company, is developing the ICF to provide proof-of-principle for diffusion-based crystallization methods to produce high-quality optical crystals in microgravity relevant for terrestrial use. ICF launched to the International Space Station on Northrop Grumman’s CRS-15 on February 20, 2021. It was the first facility to grow inorganic potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) crystals aboard space station, offering important insight into microgravity-enabled growth processes for industrial crystals, which could yield opportunities for commercial production on-orbit. Market applications include ultra-fast optical switches, optical waveguides, optical circuit lithography, high-efficiency ultraviolet light production, and terahertz wave sensors.  Tissue Engineering & Biomanufacturing LambdaVision/Space Tango –Retinal Implant Contact: Alain BerinstainSpace Tango of Lexington, Kentucky, and its partner, LambdaVision of Farmington, Connecticut, are developing a system to manufacture protein-based retinal implants, or artificial retinas, in microgravity. The market for this work is the millions of patients suffering from retinal degenerative diseases, including retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of blindness for adults over 55 years old. This effort builds on a validation flight completed in late 2018 that demonstrated the proof of concept for generating multilayered protein-based thin films in space using a miniaturized layer-by-layer manufacturing device. This project will further mature the manufacturing system, producing protein-based artificial retinas in space that would be returned to Earth for preclinical evaluation of the technology. This work will establish the necessary regulatory requirements for producing biomedical products in space station, including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The microgravity environment of space hinders convection and sedimentation in the manufacturing process, enabling more uniform layers, improved stability and higher quality thin films than can be produced on Earth. The team successfully produced 200 layers of protein on their most recent flight on SpaceX Crew-4. Using greater uniformity and better film deposition in microgravity to produce 100 layers of precisely aligned, precisely structured layers of bacterial rhodopsin crystals (vision protein) sandwiched between 100 layers of precisely deposited composite material with sufficient quality to enable an implantable artificial retina to FDA approval.LambdaVision Redwire/Made In Space – Manufacturing of Semiconductors and Thin-film Integrated Coatings (MSTIC) Contact: Justin KuglerMade In Space of Jacksonville, Florida, a Redwire company, is developing the MSTIC facility as an autonomous, high throughput manufacturing capability for production of high quality, lower cost semiconductor chips at a rapid rate. Terrestrial semiconductor chip production suffers from the impacts of convection and sedimentation in the manufacturing process. Fabricating in microgravity is expected to reduce the number of gravity-induced defects, resulting in more usable chips per wafer. Market applications include semiconductor supply chains for telecommunications and energy industries. Auxilium Biotechnologies/Space Tango – Drug Delivery Medical Devices Contact: Dr. Jacob KofflerAuxilium Biotechnologies with Space Tango has been selected for its proposal to develop a second-generation drug-delivery medical device to more effectively treat people who have sustained traumatic peripheral nerve injury. Auxilium’s Gen 1.0 NeuroSpan Bridge is a biomimetic nerve regeneration device that guides and accelerates nerve regeneration, eliminating the need for a patient to sacrifice a nerve in the leg to repair a nerve in the arm or face. Auxilium will use its expertise in fast, high-resolution 3D-printing to adapt its proprietary platform to a Gen 2.0 3D-print device in microgravity by adding novel drug delivery nanoparticles with the potential to substantially accelerate regeneration and improve functional outcomes for people on Earth. Lawrence Livermore National Lab/Space Tango – VAM Organ Production Contact: Dr. Maxim ShusteffLawrence Livermore National Laboratory, located in Livermore, California, in partnership with Space Tango, has been selected for their proposal to adapt their terrestrial volumetric 3D bioprinting device for use in microgravity to demonstrate production of artificial cartilage tissue in space. The Volumetric Additive Manufacturing (VAM) technology is a revolutionary, ultra-rapid 3D printing method that solidifies a complete 3D structure from a photosensitive liquid resin in minutes. Because of the absence of settling and gravity-driven buoyancy and convective flows in the prepolymer, the cartilage tissues manufactured and matured in microgravity are expected to have superior structural, organizational, and mechanical properties suitable for use in long-term tissue repair and replacement. University of Connecticut, STORRS/Axiom – Biomimetic Fabrication of Multifunctional DNA-inspired Nanomaterials Contact: Dr. Yupeng ChenThe University of Connecticut, out of Storrs, Connecticut, in partnership with Eascra Biotech of Boston, Massachusetts and Axiom Space of Houston has been selected for their proposed biomimetic fabrication of multifunctional nanomaterials, a cutting-edge breakthrough in biomedicine that can benefit from microgravity in space to accomplish controlled self-assembly of DNA-inspired Janus base nanomaterials (JBNs). These JBNs will be used as effective, safe and stable delivery vehicles for RNA therapeutics and vaccines, as well as first-in-kind injectable scaffolds for regenerative medicine. By leveraging the benefits of microgravity, the UConn/Eascra team expects to mature in-space production of different types of JBNs with more orderly structures and higher homogeneity over what is possible using terrestrial materials, improving efficacy for mRNA therapeutics and structural integrity for cartilage tissue repair. In-space manufacturing of DNA-inspired Janus base nanomaterials for delivery of mRNA therapeutics and vaccines, and tissue repair and regeneration.Dr. Yupeng Chenu BioServe Space Technologies with University of Colorado – Expansion of Hematopoietic Stem Cells Contact: Dr. Louis StodieckBioServe Space Technologies and The University of Colorado of Boulder, Colorado, in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, ClinImmune Cell and Gene Therapy (University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus), RheumaGen, and with support from Sierra Space has been selected for their proposal to develop a specialized bioreactor that will produce large populations of Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) in microgravity to treat serious medical conditions including blood cancers (leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma), blood disorders, severe immune diseases, and certain autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. Expansion of HSCs in microgravity is expected to result in greater stem cell expansion with less cell differentiation than is seen in 1g. If successful, the technology may enable safe and effective cell therapy transplantation, especially in children and younger adults, where long-term bone marrow cell repopulation is critical to the patient’s lifetime health. Astronaut Thomas Pesquet working in the Space Automated Bioproduct Laboratory (SABL). This image shows two SABL units, one open and one closed. SABL will be used for growing and expanding BioServe’s stem cells on board the ISS.NASA Cedars Sinai Regenerative Medicine Institute/Axiom – Stem Cell Therapy Contact: Dr. Clive SvendsenCedars-Sinai Regenerative Medicine Institute, located in Los Angeles in partnership with Axiom Space of Houston has been selected for proposing to use cutting-edge methods related to the production and differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) on the International Space Station. Cedars-Sinai will explore in-space production of stem cells into heart, brain, and blood tissues in support of regenerative medicine uses on Earth. While stem cells and stem cell-derived tissues hold great promise for use in research and as clinical-grade therapeutic agents, safe and efficient expansion of stem cells and their derivatives continues to be a major challenge on Earth. Generating, expanding, and differentiating cells at scale in the microgravity environment of space with sufficient yields of a constant therapeutic cell product that meets FDA biologics requirements may be the answer to overcome those challenges. Redwire/Techshot – BioFabrication Facility Contact: Rich BolingTechshot of Greenville, Indiana, a Redwire company, is developing the BFF as a space-based 3D biomanufacturing platform capable of printing with live human cells (autologous or allogenic). The facility contains an XYZ gantry with multiple print heads and a bioreactor cassette in the X-Y plane. Without the addition of scaffolding or chemical bio-ink thickening agents, attempts to 3D print with cells on Earth only results in creating a puddle. With scaffolding and thickening agents, organ-like shapes can be printed on Earth, but they cannot function as such. BFF prints in space with low viscosity bio-inks that only contain cells and nutrients, which enable cells to remain healthy and mobile – a necessity for creating solid thick tissue. Following a weeks-long in-space conditioning phase inside a special Redwire bioreactor, the tissue constructs are strong enough to resist gravity and remain viable following their return to Earth. In 2020, Redwire manufactured test prints of a partial human meniscus aboard the International Space Station for the company’s DoD customer, the 4-Dimensional Bioprinting, Biofabrication, and Biomanufacturing, or 4D Bio3 program, based at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. The program is a collaboration between the university and The Geneva Foundation, a non-profit organization that advances military medical research. A second round of printing in space for 4D Bio3 is scheduled for late 2022 after delivery of a 2nd generation printer on SpaceX CRS-26.  Redwire is planning additional bioprinting operations with the BFF, such as the Fabrication in Austere Military Environments (FAME) bioprinting program. Market applications include human tissue and organ repair or replacement. Redwire/Techshot – Cell Reprogramming Facility Contact: Rich BolingTechshot of Greenville, Indiana, a Redwire company, is developing the CRF to manufacture induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) in orbit using adult cells, then enabling the cells to develop into many other types of cells, that can be used inside the BFF bioprinter and on Earth for regenerative medicine, especially cell therapies. The first element of the Cell Factory system – the CRF – is in development now. Market applications include cell therapies for restorative health and autologous cell sourcing for bioprinting and vascular applications. Cedars Sinai/Space Tango – Stem Cell Production Contact: Alain BerinstainSpace Tango of Lexington, Kentucky, and its partner Cedars-Sinai of Los Angeles, California, are developing pilot-scale systems for the production in space of large batches of stem cells to be used in personalized medical treatment for a variety of diseases. The development of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) for commercial personalized medicine applications is done in space because the work to date on the space station demonstrates stem cells retain their “stemness” for longer durations in microgravity, allowing a delay of differentiation that has the potential to enable larger batches of cells to be produced. The pilot-scale systems, built for the space station to serve as a basis for future commercial manufacturing systems, will incorporate regulatory strategies to support FDA clinical trial production of personalized medicine stem cell therapies on the space station. Including current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) conditions, required for the production of stem cell therapies for human use in patients. Sanford/Space Tango – Integrated Space Stem Cell Orbiting Lab Contact: Alain BerinstainSpace Tango of Lexington, Kentucky, and its partners at UC San Diego/Sanford Consortium in La Jolla, California, are working to establish a new on-orbit biomedical sector for stem cell advancement, with a fully operational self-sustaining orbital laboratory anticipated by 2025. The team is working to refine current hardware capabilities and process flows, extending the capabilities of ground-based laboratories with regular access to the space station via secured flight opportunities. Stem cells differentiate into tissue specific progenitors that can be used in microgravity to better understand aging and immune dysfunction, providing an opportunity to accelerate advances in regenerative medicine and the development of potential new therapeutic approaches. The target market for this orbital laboratory is a new approach to stem cell translational medicine. Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine/Axiom – Engineered Liver Tissue Contact: Dr. Anthony Atala Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM), located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, has partnered with Axiom Space and BioServe Space Technologies to pursue a groundbreaking initiative. Their proposal takes advantage of the microgravity environment to develop and validate a platform that supports a ‘building block’ strategy for in-space manufacturing of vascularized and perfused liver tissue as a bridge to transplantation. This is a continuation of the NASA Centennial Vascular Tissue Challenge, where WFIRM teams won first and second place for creating metabolically active thick liver tissue that retained function for thirty days. The overarching goal is to enhance the formation of a microcapillary system within a perfusable 3D bioprinted vascularized engineered liver tissue constructs for biomanufacturing clinical-scale liver tissue constructs that allow integration into the recipient’s peripheral circulation for the treatment of liver disease. Once validated, this platform technology can produce multiple tissue construct types, including kidney and pancreas, among others. In Phase 1a, the team plans to evaluate various 3D bioprinted designs for vascularized tissue constructs to be evaluated in microgravity to identify the optimal parameters to produce liver tissue that is suitable in size to serve as a bridge to regeneration or transplantation. Phases 2 and 3 will involve biomanufacturing liver tissue constructs of the optimal design for human clinical trials and process scale-up for future commercialization. Internal Moving in San Diego - Elite Furniture Moving
What is an internal move?
An internal move, in the context of employment, refers to an employee transitioning from one role to another within the same organization or company. This movement can occur within the same department or involve transferring to a different department, team, or location within the company.
Tumblr media
Internal moves are often encouraged by employers for several reasons:
Retaining Talent: It helps the organization retain experienced and skilled employees who might otherwise seek opportunities outside the company.
Career Development: Internal moves allow employees to explore different roles, gain new skills, and broaden their experience, contributing to their professional development.
Utilizing Existing Knowledge: Employees who are already familiar with the company's culture, processes, and systems can quickly adapt to new roles, making them valuable assets.
Boosting Morale: Providing opportunities for internal career progression can boost employee morale and job satisfaction, leading to increased motivation and productivity.
Cost-Effectiveness: Internal moves can be more cost-effective for organizations since they save on recruitment and onboarding expenses associated with hiring new employees externally.
Encouraging Loyalty: When employees see a clear path for growth within the organization, they are more likely to stay loyal to the company.
Internal moves can involve promotions, lateral transfers (moving to a similar level position in a different department), or even demotions if an employee chooses to take on a role with fewer responsibilities for personal or lifestyle reasons.
Employees interested in internal moves typically need to express their interest to their supervisors or human resources department, and the organization may have specific procedures or policies in place to facilitate such transitions.

Pardon the disorganization of this addition, I have ADHD and a severe migraine.
The editor at File 770 added this note to their post:
(Note: the editor of File 770 has severe hearing loss and is unable to listen to podcasts, therefore this report will depend on the synopses of the Survivor Stories podcast posted by Stephanie Kay and Skyla Dawn Cameron on Bluesky.)
The audio processing issue (shared by the editor of File 770 and me and doubtlessly many more people watching coverage unfold) and the large number of people with SA trauma in the fan & pro communities most closely connected to the social justice wing of the SFF community has certainly limited the engagement folks have been able to do with the detailed victim/survivor testimonies in the podcasts. It’s why I’ve been relying on discussion in a number of places to get a better sense of the content — this topic is of grave importance to me but I also need to care for myself. I don’t begrudge others for doing the same as long as we’re all taking steps to prevent further harm. Unfortunately, part of preventing further harm is not leaving hanging the victims who’ve come forward, victims who haven’t yet come forward, and all people hurt and offended by the conspicuous silence.
I think another thing that’s contributed to this silence is that Gaiman’s behavior shows hallmarks of being a pattern that will likely be revealed to have directly harmed a distressing number of people. I’m sure “bigger” journalists are working on this story, but doing so responsibly takes time. I’m 100% sure that many companies and organizations that Gaiman is currently enmeshed with are doing internal investigations right now if only to make sure they’re carrying out their legal and procedural obligations to take these things seriously so they don’t get sued. Those also take time and the vast majority of them will be kept confidential unless the existence of an investigation is mentioned in any PR releases about them severing their relationship with Gaiman. But even though I know these take time, the wait for more to come out has left me tense and anxious. It’s got an air of looming menace like many horror stories and none more so than the ones that are non-fiction.
Back to the silence or limited discussion in the news-ish blog/zine and subreddit space: besides waiting for the slow investigative machine to move forward, moderating discussion of these subjects without having more detailed understandings of what the original content says and how it’s presented is irresponsible and extremely difficult even when people have listened to everything released so far. The SFF society pages should probably more formally draft people who are good at parsing podcasts and adjunct moderators experienced in refereeing internet discussions with these stakes. Abuse is rife in larger culture and SFF creation/fandom isn’t an exception. A number of revelations about various titans in the field have come out so it’s not like it’s unforeseeable that deeply sensitive and difficult conversations about exactly this sort of shit will be happening periodically.
Back to the messenger: releasing the first podcast the week of July 4 leaves many US folks distracted and the UK had an election which was distracting folks there. Not to mention the distraction of the run-up to San Diego Comic-Con and Worldcon (though the timing on those means that a lot of people will be discussing this in person). This is actually why I think the conspiracy theory about Tortoise trying to sway the election by taking out a trans ally is extremely unlikely to be true but even if true so poorly executed that it was completely ineffective for that purpose. And them making the podcast initially difficult to access, untranscribed, and introduced with a text article that failed to give a sense of the gravity of the behavior described was also unhelpful in communicating the story effectively. I think the way Tortoise handled things was bad and failed the women whose stories they shared in some pretty egregious ways. On the other hand, as covered in the deep dive linked in the reply directly above this commentary, some of the things they did are not standard practice for bigger outlets covering this stuff but in a good way. Just including the direct interviews relatively uncut is bad for keeping things short, but very good for making sure the specificity and detail of what the women said and how they said it is just out there and not as warped by editing and paraphrasing stuff in the name of concision. I don’t think this choice was just about filling time or being vaguely salacious, I think Tortoise did think that people hearing the exact details directly from the women would show the pattern, specificity, and severity of what they went through. The experiences described weren’t just vaguely inappropriate, they were physically and emotionally punishing in very calculated ways. But the duration and detail meant that other outlets covering the fact the podcast existed just slotted that into an outdated two-sides story template that left out important details and made it easier for people to believe a minimized version of events.
The feeling like everyone’s playing a twisted version of chicken or hot potato is valid, but I know that fans and pros are discussing this and further journalism is in progress. More visible public comment and discussion is going to happen. I’m bracing myself for whatever comes out next.
Everyone waiting for members of the SF/F community to weigh in about Neil Gaiman, please remember that a lot of people in light of recent revelations are having to recontextualize relationships and events going back decades.
Not just fans. Peers, friends, and family need space and time to process.
You may know someone your entire adult life, who has treated you with kindness, patience, affection, and support who is also capable of doing others harm. Cognitive dissonance is human. Grieving relationships that may have only existed as equal in your own mind is still grieving.
I genuinely hope that everyone who has been harmed finds healing, comfort, and peace, and that reparations are made and lives can go on without further suffering.
Believe the abused when they come forward. Hold abusers accountable for their actions regardless of intent.
Mourn, and go on.
But most of all take whatever steps you can to prevent further harm, and send a clear message to your community that deliberately doing others harm will not be tolerated, and those who choose to prey on others shall be held accountable.

Most professional movers book up quickly, so if you wait too long, you may be placed on a waiting list or forced to pay higher rates. In general, it’s a good idea to hire a mover eight weeks in advance of your move date.
When it comes to finding a good san diego long-distance moving company, be sure to read reviews and ask for referrals from friends and family members. It’s also important to compare prices and services between several companies before making a decision. In addition, reputable movers will be upfront and transparent about their pricing, as well as be available to answer questions throughout the move.
Some san diego long distance moving companies offer additional services, such as cleaning and packing. Others offer insurance policies to protect customers’ belongings. These policies may include supplemental coverage for high-value items. Some san diego long-distance movers will also offer real-time tracking to allow customers to monitor the progress of their shipment.
The cost of a move to San Diego depends on a few factors, such as the weight and distance of the shipment. The average move within the city costs $500 to $6,400, while an out-of-state or interstate move can cost up to $10,000. To get an accurate estimate, visit a moving company’s website or contact them directly for a quote.

An AMERICAN WINE LEGEND of the WORLD as chosen by @wineenthusiast in 2020? Tah-dah! Gary Eberle of @eberleboar! Watch the riveting video about Gary, link in bio. This iconic figure in Paso’s wine industry, does it again! His 2022 CĂŽtes-du-RĂŽbles RosĂ© Grenache was awarded Best in Class + Gold at the San Diego International Wine + Spirits Challenge, just in time for Easter! Cheers to talented winemaker, Chris Eberle, too. No surprise, Eberle’s RosĂ© is refreshingly vibrant + captures one's palate with the first sip. Hints of papaya, dragon fruit, + a touch of passion fruit engulf your palate. The RosĂ© is refreshingly vibrant with bright acidity + a lingering fruit finish. Food Pairings: The bright acidity and fresh fruit flavors of the Eberle RosĂ© make this a remarkable pairing partner with a light salad, roasted shrimp risotto, wood plank smoked salmon, smoked salmon on a toasted bagel with cream cheese and caper or brie cheese. It is also beguiling with sorbet. BONUS: For 50% off a “by the glass of wine” COUPON + a 15% off purchases of wine + merchandise COUPON - “COUPON” link in bio. Fascinating background: Gary Eberle is hands-down considered the ‘pioneer’ of Paso Wine Country that began back in the day at LSU following his 4 yrs at UCLA. Mateus was the ‘chi chi’ wine of choice for the average cultured person + the empty bottle made a fine candleholder. One night at a dinner party he was introduced to a 1966 ChĂąteau Latour by a professor. The wine so moved him that he had an epiphany, + realized he wanted to be a winemaker, not a geneticist. He quickly headed off to UC Davis + was accepted into the doctoral program in the enology dept. From the beginning, Eberle has been known for his knowledge, hard work, quality + vision. His career is a succession of firsts, including the 1st to build wine caves in Paso. Most days you’ll find him outside the tasting room with a glass of wine + in the company his standard poodle. He’s a gregarious soul + is a colorful storyteller whom you’ll want to meet. I raise my glass to the Eberle’s + hope that you get the chance to visit them + take a tour of their 16,000 feet of caves.
