The distinct advantages of using the parabolic leaf springs
Our vehicles are dear to us. We always want the best for our vehicle. Isn't it? Leaf springs are considered essential elements associated with the suspension system of a large vehicle. Among the various types of leaf springs used in modern vehicles the most important one is the parabolic leaf spring.
The parabolic leaf springs are considered a better and more advanced version of the traditional leaf springs. The parabolic leaf springs work in such a manner that the individual leaf springs can manage robust load-bearing requirements. Hence, there is less demand for the raw materials used to construct them. It is believed that the parabolic leaf springs typically use about 35% less amount of raw material than those used by other types of leaf springs.
The parabolic leaf springs are characterized by the presence of full-length leaves that have a constant width throughout their length. Each of the leaves is of a variable thickness. The main reason these leaf springs are preferred over other variants is that they deliver better fatigue resistance, greater lifespan, enhanced resilience to damage, lower interleaf friction, improved ride quality, and superior value-to-weight ratio. It has been found that parabolic leaf springs with a width of 125 mm and 50 mm thickness can handle weights anywhere between 2 to 350 kilograms.
The tapering of these parabolic leaf springs automatically enhances the load-bearing capacity of these units. The material chosen for these lead springs reduces the possibility of wearing and rusting. As a result, they can pack reliable performance for extended periods. They can also ensure a quieter operation while on the road. The inherent structure of the parabolic leaf springs also makes them versatile enough to be used for a wide range of commercial and non-commercial vehicles.
The suspension system of your car determines the level of speed at which you can drive the vehicle. It can also help control the balance and height of the vehicle according to the way you want it. Therefore it is essential that you get them from a reputable manufacturer. There are several well known brands in the market. Make sure to check their credentials and standards of service. In that way, you can be sure that you are investing in quality products.

summary
↠ Shye runs away without looking back. He runs and he boards that train and he’s thankful he grabbed his wallet when he dashed out of the house. He pays for his ticket, he watches as the scenery begins to change, and he’s so thankful for the growing distance that he not even for a moment considers where the train might be going.
Tickets, apparently, are quite cheap, and he lets that thought lull him to sleep.
~~
The place he wakes up at is cold. The people avoid him like a plague, and yet some seek him out. Deciding who to trust turns into a challenging task when their words contradict each other’s, his soul suddenly has more value than his life, and the one thing Shye could always rely on, his mind, becomes his enemy.
The place he wakes up at doesn’t have a day.
✤~✤~✤
excerpt
Shye caught up to her and tapped on her shoulder. “Excuse me, ma’am?”
She jumped a little bit but swiftly turned around, a polite smile adorning her lips. Once their looks met, however, she froze. Confusion twisted her face and her mouth hung slightly open as if midword, but her eyes of the palest shade of brown simply stared directly into Shye’s without as much as blinking. Something itched under Shye’s skin, something that had begun to trickle when he saw Madame Natalie’s irises and something that now was gaining velocity.
Regardless, he pushed the discomfort down and spoke once more:
“Sorry to disturb you, but I seem to be a bit lost. Could you tell me where I am exactly?”
A beat of silence passed.
The woman inhaled sharply and stumbled back, her glassy eyes perfectly round and her bottom lip trembling. She grasped her chest as her gaze darted all around them without stopping on anything for more than a moment. Shye took a small step back.

2021 Reading Log, pt 5
21. Emperors of the Deep by William McKeever. The worst book I have finished this year. The first two-thirds of it were just annoying enough to make it slightly unpleasant—there’s lots of interesting information about sharks in the book, but it’s muddied by the author’s overuse of metaphor and poor word choices (“species” has an actual meaning my dude). And then it gets racist. Phenomenally racist. The entire trade in shark meat and shark fins is blamed solely on China, in between statistics about actual shark use throughout the world. Spain and Brazil have major shark fisheries. The USA has a multimillion dollar black market in illegal shark fins. The amount of shark fins consumed annually in China is currently decreasing. The book actually says all this in one breath, and then condemns China, and occasionally “other Asian countries” in the next breath. Gross.
22. Big Chicken by Maryn McKenna. This was the book I was hoping The Secret Life of Groceries would be. It’s an expose on the abuses of the food industry, and how things are improving. It zooms in specifically on chicken production, and the enormous use of antibiotics for growth promotion that has been used since the 1950s, and only recently forbidden by law in the USA. McKenna’s typical beat is disease, and she does an excellent job of tracing the history of antibiotic resistance evolution. The book was published in 2017, and ends on a hopeful note. As well it should, as the chicken industry has been pretty good about phasing out routine antibiotic use. Too bad the beef and pork industries have actually increased antibiotic use in the last several years…
23. The Dancing Plague by John Waller. This book focuses primarily on the Dancing Plague in Strasbourg in 1518, but talks about other outbreaks of similar psychogenic illness in the Middle Ages. The introduction ends with, “this is the story of how a town lost hope”, which is a big mood. Especially why. Strasbourg was hit by multiple epidemics and famines in a short time, had massive rates of poverty, and predatory monasteries and lords profited off of what food the people grew. The author argues that the manifestation of a dancing plague specifically was a local cultural phenomenon, tied to saints’ cults in the Rhine River Valley and the combination of deep piety and deep distrust of the clergy. This was a breezy read, and I finished it in a single sitting.
24. Proof: The Science of Booze by Adam Rogers. I dunno if this is the “Best Science Writing of 2014”, as the paperback’s back cover crows, but it was very pleasant. The organization of the book is inspired, running through first the process of making alcohol (yeast, sugar, fermentation, distillation, aging) and then the process of drinking it (smell and taste, body and brain, hangover). The author is clearly a huge geek about this kind of thing, and his love of the material shines through. Obviously, this is a pretty pro-alcohol book, so if you have triggers about that sort of thing, it is not recommended, but I found it a very pleasant read (especially with a cocktail).
25. Bitten by Witch Fever by Lucinda Hawksley. This is a very macabre art book, consisting as it does of reproductions of Victorian wallpapers tested and found to contain arsenic. The plates are interleafed with essays about the role of arsenic in the Victorian home, the conditions in Victorian textile factories, histories of some of the designers, and the debate over whether arsenic in wallpaper was really dangerous (which is where the title comes from—apparently people have been using the “witch hunt” analogy to describe legitimate complaints that they are on the wrong side of for 150+ years now). These pages are in smaller format than the wallpaper reproductions, giving the book a strange, lopsided feeling in the hand. The font is also a downside, as there are ligatures between some letter combinations (like ct and st) that rubbed me the wrong way.

I got ambushed by my coworkers and asked to make a yule card for our department boss. Which, yeah, happy to!
I just wished they'd ask me yesterday, so I'd have a chance to have proper tools with me, like thicker paper and more than six pens.
I'm currently in the process of frankensteining this thing on an interleaf stolen from some old folder, with my travel pen case containing two micron fineliners, one white gel pen and a single pinkish purple copic, plus a dull pencil I stole somewhere.

WIP Wednesday
@allycryz tagged me, and most of what I’ve been working on lately is my FE3H Trans Big Bang piece (Sylvain x trans Mercedes), which I want to be a surprise until I’ve posted it, so though I’ve written this a long time ago now, and some people from a fire emblem server have seen it, I’m going to share a poem that’ll fit around chapter 18 of my fic Lorenz and Hilda’s Paired Ending. Mature content discussed below the cut.
I’ll tag @recurringwriter , @bosspigeon , @crypticbruja and anyone who wants to share a bit of a WIP. No pressure. <3
Lorenz has by now been writing little poems and scraps to leave for Hilda after breakfast or tea, but after she changes their time alone together by giving him a blowjob, he is compelled to write a series of letters and a longer poem that tries to capture both his more intimate emotions and the inescapable honesty of a double entendre. Lorenz gets the benefit of having to scribble something together quickly, to try and outrun the embarrassment of it and to get himself to bed, but I get to sit and stew in it while I try to decide if it needs more editing.
.
Life hadst cast me a barren garden
A worn and shameful home
Yet you grant to me a gentle pardon
And help me sow a brome
When all my forebears cast to break me, and leave me all agrief
You bless me with these words of yours.
Your mouth brings me relief
Meals inside my house were lonely
A reminder of my years
To find them brightened by you only
Could bring me to honest weeping tears
When my table was empty save for me, and my aperitif
You grace me with your darling smile.
Your mouth brings me relief
Sitting in repose was no better
Reading through decisions a mile wide
You would help me craft each letter
If only to see your will applied
When I overthink my contemplations, and spoon at a tea leaf
You bring me joy with impatient laughter.
Your mouth brings me relief
Success once scorned my ill-timed ventures
And left me on the precipice of change
You defended me from unfair censures
Helped me understand my range
When I recall all that I’ve earned, and all that I achief
You can mock me with your knowing grin.
Your mouth brings me relief
Love evades and marks me broken
Every failing is mine own
Your very comfort comes unspoken
Soothing me to the bone
When I recall naught but the battle, a pain we shared in brief
You reach out to me with your sweet kiss.
Your mouth brings me relief
Poems challenge my every thought
A thousand drafts for one
For what words could weigh the love you’ve wrought
Inside this fractured son
When all the pages in my life are used, and every interleaf
You might then understand with clarity; my love, my friend, my confidant
Your mouth brings me relief

Happy Worldbuilding Wednesday! What inspires your world building? Tell us something cool about the worldbuilding you've done so far
Hey! That really depends on the wip, actually. In Interleaf, dreams and philosophy inspires it. I guess a cool thing about its city is how you can never enter the same street twice, I find the concept both scary and fascinating:D In Syncopated, I get some inspiration for the underwater civilization from marine science, the culture of the countries on the Baltic coast, ahh, different societal structures? It’s an amalgamation of a lot of things, really:D Sometimes I just like to let loose and not get inspired by anything lol. Now, what’s something cool that wouldn’t be a spoiler... I have actual deities in my world, though they’re very obscure and practically no one knows them anymore. A very, very long time ago they had a fight, and the energy from it managed to leak into our world, causing mutations in a number of living things, most prominently humans. That created a lot of fantastical beings, but because they were unnatural, most didn’t find a way to survive and eventually died out. There were some who did manage to secure a livelihood, though, and one of those species were the sirens in my story. I might actually expand on this bit later since it’ll never show in the actual story, but I find it quite neat. Thanks for the ask!
