hello!! i love your blog <3 i do have to say that i wasn't a charlos fan (?) but now thanks to you i'm obsessed!! i was wondering if there's like lore or key moments that feel like basic information to know
thank you!!!! I'm happy u enjoy it here❤️ I do have to say EYE wasn't a charlos fan either when I started this blog. I wasn't planning on it. I can't remember when it started but it was in between them beefing in China and them beefing in Spain. Something about how they keep finding their way back to each other showing genuine warmth and mad sexual tension but also they aren't really friends and "when my helmet is on I have hated him and he's hated me" or whatever Charles said. Absolutely unhinged (positive).
There's a lot of genuinely cute charlos lore from earlier days (2021 / first half of 2022) that I WILL revisit one day. However if I had to make a top 5 of my personal favourite bits... they're all post-Silverstone 22 and they all have the common theme of "wow I can't believe they still look at each other like they need a room after THAT."
I think it really drives home the weird sexually charged push-pull goofy vibe of their relationship the rest of the time
5. Singapore 2023. That was a sexy Carlos moment first and foremost, obviously but the reason I'm counting it as a charlos moment specifically is that Charles's driving coach recently came out and said what we were all thinking: that watching his teammate have a flawless weekend from start to end while he couldn't quite catch up motivated Charles enormously to Never Let That Happen again(*) and metaphorically lit a fire under his ass and he's now having the best season of his life. Thinking about this seminal post by @/steviethenarwhal about how Charles and Carlos are constantly used as a benchmark for each other (among other things, it's a great post) and also thinking about how massively competitive they are in everything they do. Singapore 2023 is a charlos moment. to me.
(*) it just happened again in Mexico. I hope this lits another fire under Charles's ass for 2025 reasons
4. China 2024. The time Charles's manager said they had made up with a big kiss. They had a hissy on-track scrap during a sprint, which was already kinda sexy if you're into that (as a divorce enjoyer. I am) and then Charles's manager had to go and said they'd made up with a kiss. They're never escaping the toxic couple coded allegations.
3. Interlagos 2022. PLEASE CONSIDER THE CHAMPIONSHIP. This is a fundamental charlos moment to me because it encapsulates so much about 22... Charles going from triumphant to struggling at wdc p3 in a season that was full of blunders, while Carlos also got his first win and had some amazing drives that season but they were overshadowed by the dramatic irony of Charles's failed championship bid. Anyway, Brazil: Charles in P4 during a race where RBR are struggling, with Max already crowned champion, this could be his chance to make up points on Checo who was currently wdc p2. Except Carlos is ahead of him and heading for a podium. Charles asks for a swap on radio, a bit whiny, a bit shameless. Every point counts. He said: give me my teammate's podium 🥺 Charles who historically has really been a good boy when it comes to complying with team orders even when he had to grit his teeth and bear it, now asks for this one thing. Except it's a pretty outrageous request, a gifted podium 😳 He doesn't get it but god I love that he asked. If u squint this is kinda representative of charlos's whole dynamic at Ferrari that's like “guy married into his wife's family” (Charles is the wife). This race lives in my head rent-free.
2. This mid-January 2024 pictures of them driving to Maranello together.
Tumblr media
This picture is SO important to me because of the context. It's mid January. Charles is about to announce his contract renewal. He knows Ferrari are talking to Lewis. Carlos knows his contract renewal has stalled. He might already know it's not happening. In all of this: they are still driving to the factory together. They are STILL. Driving to the factory. TOGETHER. If this doesn't scream I could throttle you sometimes but I can't give you up. I don't know what does it.
Tumblr media
(whose pov is this from? either)
1. MONZA 2023. CHARLES BEEFING WITH CARLOS'S MUM VIA TWITTER LIKES. CARLOS POLE. CHARLOS ON TRACK BATTLE 😳 and they looked SO HOT that whole weekend.

what tracks do you think max has a chance to win (or at least podium) at for the rest of this season? & which one's are probably going to be hard due to the limits of the rb19? & thank you for being the voice of reason right now at a time when everyone, including me, is feeling really down about max's wdc chancdes.
Tumblr media
in one of waché's interviews before the summer break, he said rb20's strengths are rear-limited tracks and hot conditions. we saw that in austria quali, when max managed to qualify ahead of lando by +0.4. and he would've won that race if not for the slow pit stop. it wouldn't have been a comfortable win, but we ain't gonna see those anymore. every detail needs to be perfect.
but what are 'front-limited' and 'rear-limited' tracks?
front-limited: tracks that ask a lot from the car's front end. so the speed you can carry through the corner is limited by the maximum grip the front tyres can generate. circuits with long, interconnected, fast corners.
rear-limited: logically, tracks that ask a lot from the car's rear end. circuits with higher prevalence of slow corners, characterized by heavy braking followed by significant acceleration on corner exits and long straights.
for example, hungary and zandvoort are heavily front limited. bahrain and austria are heavily rear limited. but most tracks are only slightly biased in one direction, so it's not possible to put each one of them in a little box. the track condition can also affect these traits, if the track is too green or if throughout the weekend there's big variations in temperature, the balance can switch from slightly front limited to rear limited or vice versa.
i can see the mcl38 performing in every track. zandvoort might have been only their second big upgrade of the season, but they've been introducing track-specific parts almost every round and will continue to do so. qatar is heavily front-limited, that's mclaren's playground. even in 2023, lando could've won that race had he started in the front row.
the rb20 underdelivered in zandvoort. they need all three practice sessions to setup the car and they got only one. in the end max ran an old spec floor (for comparison purposes) and a monaco rear wing (in case it would rain in quali and help with the tyre deg on sunday - it didn't, the unloaded setups worked better). they saw max wouldn't have the pace to challenge for the win and decided to take risks. it doesn't matter if it was max's home race, think of the big picture. they still need to run experimental setups in order to understand the car better and improve it for the late stages of the season and even next year. this car STILL has potential to win races. it would've won in spa had max started from p1, i don't know why max fans choose to ignore that. its aero efficiency is still the reference.
SO. with all that said and considering recent performances...
i am optimistic for monza. it's a a neutral track, the low drag favors the rb20. it might not have the same straight line speed advantage it enjoyed over competitors in 22/23, but it's still a factor. track has been resurfaced and it looks like temps are gonna be around 28/30ºC which can help.
+baku: yeah it's a street circuit, but a very rear limited one, low deg and low drag. the rb20 can perform well. -singapore: knees on the floor. start praying for a top 5 finish. ferrari we need your help. singapore is actually rear-limited, like monaco, but its curbs and bumpy nature won't allow the stiff rb20 to be stable. -cota: neutral... but i'm leaning towards mclaren bc high deg +mexico: maxico and inshallah. rear limited and low deg but bc of the high altitude it needs a lot of downforce.. still have faith we can take it tho -interlagos: mcl38 +las vegas: low deg and low drag, rear limited, but cooler temps.. rb20 can you help me out here -qatar: mcl38 +abu dhabi: bit rear limited, low deg, rb20
btw this stuff is not black and white. it just gives you a reference. shovlin has said the w15's weaknesses are hot conditions and rear limited tracks. the w15 was expected to perform well in zandvoort.. but you see, it didn't. a lot of surprises to come. mercs and ferrari are gonna play a big part in this championship.
but don't quote me on any of that!! 😁

I'm finally back home yet my brain cannot comprehend that I met fernando and everything that happened last weekend was real ..... I feel like I fell into an alternate reality......... 8-year old mari who started being an alonsista when he went to ferrari would never expect any of this....... 22-year old current me also did NOT expect that...........
I just never ever thought I would get to meet him irl....... to me he always seemed as a god-like figure. someone high up above me. someone you only get to see on tv. last year was my first time at interlagos and I thought that seeing him wave at us cheering at the barricade was the closest I would get to him. that was already a dream coming true.
now seeing him talk to me (in PORTUGUESE!!!), being so nice and kind to me... showing my flag to everyone and their mothers and carrying it around the paddock... touching my arm so gently, waving at me before sprint, giving me a thumbs up at the drivers parade.... being his fan for all these years, I didn't think it'd be possible for me to love him more than I already do.... but he proved me wrong, he showed me he deserves the love I give him and so much more 🥺🥺

I've encountered a tiktok doing their top 5 drivers of 2022 and now i want to do it so here it goes:
Max Verstappen. No explanation needed, my boy dominated this year, made like 3 mistakes in 22 races and won by a mile even spining.
The rest of the list may be controversial so idk it's my opinion, not facts, you can have your own and that's great.
2. Lando Norris. I had Leclerc here but i changed it because this kid has carried the entire team on his own to a 4th position very close to apline. I love Ricciardo but this year he wasn't there and Lando has been consistent all year doing very good races and even getting the only podium for a team outside of the top 3 this year. So, yeah, second best.
3. Fernando Alonso Díaz. I had to. My man is 41 years old with a tractor that broke 6 times and still was competing against Norris for being the best of the race. He got a front line starting in Canada.... his own mecanics couldn't believe it. I love this man so i can't be objective and that's why he's third.
4. Charles Leclerc. As i said i had him P2 but i lowered him because he's made too many mistakes... yeah, ferrari is ferrari and they ruin everything from car to strategy but he has made mistakes that have cost him wins without strategi being a factor... just look at Paul Ricard. I'm sorry but he has to fix this mistakes if he wants to win a championship because i'm sure he can do it if ferrari gives him a good enough car.
5. George Russel. It's mister consistency. I don't now what to say, he's been great, he's shown he can adapt pretty quickly to a new car and he has been there to take every oportunity he could get. Although i'm still angry about his torpedo side showing and him making fun on the radio of drivers from little teams (aka Mick). But i can forget it because my last memory of him is him winning interlagos and crying and then not getting any atention because everyone colapsed and decided to fight.
Honorable mentions to Carlitos Sainz whose second half was great but i still think he hasn't got the edge to get to Leclerc's level. Also I have to mention Hamilton whose second half was better than george's but i didn't put him higher because i was a little disapointed with his attitude. I mean, he's used to winning and having the best or one of the best cars and now that he didn't have it i felt like he didn't care until the car started being competitive again and then he started being more like the hamilton we knew and beating Russel.
And that's it, a good season, a boring season. I hope we see more of a title fight next year but idk i will watch and enjoy the same because i love the sport with the cars that go very fast and turn.

F1 chief Stefano Domenciali abandons hopes of remodelling Monaco circuit
F1 chief Stefano Domencali abandons hopes of remodelling Monaco circuit, despite calls to update the famous track... after organisers confirmed the that 'limitations are very restrictive' The Formula One chief had been hopeful of redesigning the Monaco circuit  There have been calls to keep the track up to date with new modifications  However, organisers confirmed that no changes would be getting made to track  By Jonathan McEvoy For Mail Online Published: 04:22 EDT, 30 May 2023 | Updated: 04:29 EDT, 30 May 2023 Formula One chief executive Stefano Domenicali has abandoned his hopes of remodelling Monaco’s famous street circuit after plans to do so were strongly rejected by the organisers. The thorny subject of a lack of overtaking revealed itself again on Sunday, when only rain saved a processional race from the constraints of the principality’s tight streets. Christian Horner, boss of winner Max Verstappen’s Red Bull team, hailed the venue a jewel in the sport’s crown but spoke of the need to make modifications to keep it up to date. He called for the the first corner, Sainte Devote, to be slowed down or for the circuit to be extended to include a significant braking zone. But Mail Sport has been told that those plans are dead in the water, despite former F1 executive Ross Brawn having drawn up proposals to affect change. His initiatives were knocked back by the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), who run the event. F1 chief executive Stefano Domenicali has abandoned his hopes of remodelling Monaco’s famous street circuit There have been calls to keep the famous track up to date with modern modifications An F1 spokesman said: ‘It’s been something we have tried to change in the past and have pushed for that, but unfortunately the situation there and the limitations are very restrictive.’ It is understood that so trenchant are the ACM that a revamp is not even due to form part of renegotiation ahead of the race’s last edition under its current contract, which expires after the 2025 running. Meanwhile, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has managed expectations over their major upgrade package, introduced in Monaco. Helped by a decent pit-lane call as rain fell to move on to intermediate tyres, Lewis Hamilton finished fourth and George Russell fifth, though a definite interpretation of the hoped-for improvements is deferred until next week’s race on the more representative Barcelona track. However, Wolff ruled out a night-and-day revival, saying: ‘We need to be careful. We will collect more data in Spain. I don’t expect us to clear Ferrari and Aston Martin there, but it is about understanding what this car does and how we set it up. ‘We are good at grinding away. Last year the package was terrible at the beginning of the year but we won a race in Interlagos, so we will get there.’ Share or comment on this article: F1 chief Stefano Domenciali abandons hopes of remodelling Monaco circuit via Formula One | Mail Online https://www.dailymail.co.uk?ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490&ito=1490

Formula 1 announces venues for six F1 Sprint events across 2023 season
Formula 1 has revealed the venues that will play host to the six F1 Sprint weekends during the 2023 campaign, with the number of events doubling from the three staged in 2021 and 2022. F1 Sprint sees the standard one-hour qualifying session shifted to Friday, setting the grid for a 100-kilometre dash on Saturday, which in turn sorts the starting order for Sunday’s main event. Next year, the Sprints will be held in Azerbaijan (Baku Street Circuit), Austria (Red Bull Ring), Belgium (Spa-Francorchamps), Qatar (Losail Circuit), the United States (Circuit of The Americas) and Sao Paulo (Interlagos). READ MORE: Formula 1 calendar to feature six Sprint events from 2023 onwards Interlagos continues as a Sprint venue after playing host in 2021 and 2022, while the Red Bull Ring also featured the revised format last season. Silverstone, Monza and Imola are the other venues to have hosted Sprints in the past. F1 Sprint venues and dates for 2023 Grand Prix Circuit Date Azerbaijan Baku Street Circuit April 28-30 Austria Red Bull Ring June 30 - July 2 Belgium Spa-Francorchamps July 28-30 Qatar Losail Circuit October 06-08 United States Circuit of The Americas October 20-22 Sao Paulo Interlagos November 3-5 The 2023 selection came following research into the most suitable tracks for the format, including overtaking opportunities, close racing and high-speed sections – and is designed to ensure competitive on-track action across all three days of the selected Grand Prix weekends. Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed the increase from three to six events for next year. We have seen a hugely positive reaction to the F1 Sprint events during the first two years of its running, and we can’t wait to bring even more action to fans with six events next year, including our first US F1 Sprint in Austin,” he said. READ MORE: Formula 1 committed to ‘delivering positive lasting change’ on sustainability and diversity and inclusion, says Domenicali “The introduction of the F1 Sprint has created a race weekend that includes three days of competitive racing action and brings more entertainment to fans of the sport as well as additional value for key stakeholders including teams, broadcasters, partners, and host venues.” Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA added: “Following strong collaboration between the FIA and FOM, and the approval of the World Motor Sport Council, we are pleased to reveal the six events for Sprints for the 2023 season. We look forward to this exciting addition to the calendar.” via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

Season summary
I have decided to create a summary of the top three teams of the 2023 season.
Red bull
Outrageous
This has been an outstanding and inspiring season by the champions. It will go down as the most dominant and successful ever. Verstappen won 19/22 races, with red bull winning all races but Singapore, won by Carlos sainz. This has never happened in formula one before. The season has highlighted Verstappens greatness and the excellence of the car, whilst also showing that Pérez may not be the man for the job, as he came short in a clearly remarkable car. Red bull carry the same driver lineup into 2024, and will hope to see the same success. Although I think most people will not want a repeat of this season, even red bull fans such as myself.
Mercedes
All over the place
The season seemed to be picking up pace for Mercedes towards the end of the season, with them looking to be best of the rest behind red bull in the circuit of the Americas and the Mexico GP, but disaster struck at Interlagos. The car was a “miserable thing” which resulted in a DNF for Russel and Hamilton finishing a minute behind Verstappen. This was an unfortunate mix of a floor issue, a too dense rear wing and bad tire degradation. They will need to address all of these issues if they want a chance at success next year.
Ferrari
Underachieved
The scuderia were hoping for a title contention this season, scoring top position in four races last year. However they failed to perform over a struggling Mercedes and finished third. They suffered a shocking start to the season with Charles retiring twice and points looking dire. The car still seemed to have raw pace and power but did not find wins, although you can’t blame them with the bully that was red bull taking all of the wins. They did manage to claim the one misstep from the champions in Singapore, making them best of the rest in that regard.
