I have access to a computer again! With a keyboard! And so I can share with you one of the mystical experiences of hanging out with my wife. We passed this old looking, panting dog one day while walking around mainstreet, and I made some kind of comment about how that dog looked a little worn out, and this GIANT guy walked pass, like, karate chopping the air he was walking so fast, and he said in a kind of mad voice "It's BEAUTIFUL," and then he grabbed a leaf off a tree and ate it. All without turning back. We watched this giant hulk of a man just continue ripping down the street while chewing so aggressively we could see it from behind. Anyway, I wrote a poem about it.
A dog stands still upon the stone,
The heat has killed all trace of bone
It droops like produce left to rot
It cannot play: It is too hot
I pass it with my wife and say
“That dog has seen some better days,”
A man strides past, his head held high
His voice like thunder from the sky
“It’s beautiful,” he says quite frank
His voice is calm, his face is blank.
I turn to see who spoke so free
(I like when strangers address me)
He does not stop, he strides on past
If time’s a thief, he runs too fast
For it to catch him with its jaws
He does not care for nature’s laws
I consider then, how time is brief
How soon our love can turn to grief
Then as I watch, he eats a leaf

@manganyeh
Yae Miko eyes light up when she sees Kokomi.
"Hello Kokomi~ It's a pleasure to see you here!"
"Yes I'd love to have some tea with you."
She smiles in her signature plotting smile.
"Please come sit down ehehe..."

why the fuck does my father get to have a life of his own. When I cut him out my life he should have stayed exactly where he was until I was ready to forgive him. He spent my whole life trapped in his trauma he should have stayed there begging for me to talk to him again until the end of time. I will always bear the damage he did to me, he doesn't get freedom from that, he shouldn't get love when it took everything for me to deny him it. Why was she enough for him to change- why wasn't I.

[Interesting people to describe. Some are as restless means too high. The evidence is slow on sundays. Painting our picture one last day.]

Le Palais Idéal
In 1863 a man named Ferdinand Cheval was born in a small village in Southern France to a poor farming family. Cheval left school at only thirteen to apprentice under a baker but instead Cheval ended up working for the French Postal service. It was during this work, doing his rounds, that he would one day trip over a stone that would lead to an extraordinary and unexpected example of naïve art in architecture that would continue to inspire artists of all kinds for years to come: Le Palais Idéal.
Tumblr media
In English, this Ideal Palace consists of stones, pebbles, and fossils of various shapes and sizes that Cheval carried home over the next 33 years from his postal route, at first in his pockets, and then later with a wheelbarrow. Much of the construction was done at night by the light of oil lamps. Looking at the fantastical looking stone palace, you might think it to be small in nature, but don’t let your eyes deceive you. The southern facade of the palace is 85 feet long and 33 feet high. The northern facade consists of a long path that leads into the palace itself. Many animals are carved into the northern walls, including ostriches, lions, octopi, polar bears, and even dragons.
Tumblr media
The Eastern facade took the longest to build, taking almost twenty years. It includes several temples, as well as two waterfalls that Cheval called, the “Source of Life” and the “Source of Wisdom”.

The intricate carvings on the exterior aren’t the only decorative elements of the palace either. Through the entire structure Checal hand carved many quotes and short poems into the stone, the most iconic of which states:
“1879-1912; 10,000 days, 93,000 hours, 33 years of struggle. Let those who think they can do better try.”
Understandably after the work that went into Cheval’s palace he wanted to be entombed within its walls upon his death, but due to the laws in France he was unable to do so. Instead, he spent eight years building a mausoleum for himself within the Hauterives Cemetery. Only around a year after its completion, Cheval died, and remains within its hand crafted walls to this day.
Tumblr media
After his death many artists took inspiration from his work. In 1932 German artist Max Ernst (known primarily for his surrealist/dada work) created a collage titled “The Postman Cheval”. Pablo Picasso, another surrealist artist, created a series of drawings 1937. Picasso depicted Cheval as a hybrid-creature, with the head of a bird (a reference to Cheval’s career, birds being messengers, and Cheval being a postman), and the body of a horse (Cheval, meaning horse, in French). The “PTT” on the horse's body stands represents the initials of the French Postal Service.

By Elizabeth Victoria MA Organizational Leadership (Graduated 2018)
"Anna Swan, later known as Anna Bates after her marriage to Martin Van Buren Bates, was born on August 6, 1846, in Nova Scotia, Canada. She was born into a family of average height, but she began to rapidly grow at an early age. By the time she reached her teenage years, Anna stood at an astounding height of 7 feet 11 inches (2.41 meters).
Anna's height garnered a great deal of attention, and she soon became a popular spectacle in circuses and sideshows. Despite the challenges her height presented, Anna embraced her uniqueness and had a cheerful and outgoing personality. In 1871, she met and married Martin Van Buren Bates, who himself was an extraordinary figure at 7 feet 9 inches (2.36 meters) tall.
Together, Anna and Martin embarked on a journey across the globe, showcasing their unparalleled height difference and captivating audiences wherever they went. They toured extensively with various circuses and sideshows, including the famous P.T. Barnum's circus. Their height made them celebrities of their time, and they were even received by royalty, including Queen Victoria.
Despite their stature, the couple lived a relatively normal life outside of their public appearances. They owned a farm in Seville, Ohio, where they raised livestock. Anna and Martin also had two children, both of whom were of average height.
Anna Swan Bates passed away on August 5, 1888, at the age of 41 due to heart failure. Martin Van Buren Bates lived for another 30 years, passing away in 1919 at the age of 67. Their remarkable story continues to fascinate people, as they were truly larger than life figures who left an indelible mark on history."

The curious archon was walking up the steps to the shrine, and the little archon decided to visit the electro archon, but curiousity led them to a strange shrine.
They were lost again for the third time... But the curious archon was still walking up to the shrine. Something tells them that this is not a dangerous place.
Once the little archon reached the top of the shrine, they quickly ran to the strange fox tree. They never ever saw that tree before it looked so strange.
The little archon curiosily looked at the tree as they were so surprised with it!
Wow, that sakura tree looks like a fox! I never saw that before... Sumeru doesn't have strange fox trees.
🌱 A curious archon
Yae Miko turns around to see them
"Oh look who's here..."
"Hello little one, You're interested in the Sacred Sakura?"
"Fox trees? That's a Interesting way to describe it."
Yae Miko giggles
"The kitsune do take good care of it."
"Is there a reason you came to the Grand Narukami Shrine today little one?"
