i wonder if alice and celia's names are meant to represent their relationship to sam?
like alice, clearly has never taken anything seriously a day in her life, heavily struggles with being open and honest, and uses humor to hide her real feelings
and then celia, her name is alice's backwards and she's almost like the inverse of alice. she started her date with sam getting into the deep and honest parts of their lives and didn't use a single joke to hide anything
it's almost like celia is the opposite of alice when it comes to dating, or even being friends with, sam and i wonder if that will mean anything for the two of them further down the line

Whenever i get too into a media i start absorbing my favs personalities subconsciously. i am painfully aware of this terrible habit of mine but it doesnt mean i always catch it. so i am hypervigilant 24/7 trying to stop myself from acting like my favs. im not making the same mistake i made when i was like 11 with light yagami.

Sometimes I’m reminded that in universe Chilchuck is an actually influential figure who like. Made huge advancements for his people and community. Like as in gave them rights and protections. And who is widely known by half-foots because of that. Like. He’s not just some guy.
Idk For some reason that just makes his role in canon really funny to me. Like this older, extremely important and accomplished figure is just willingly putting himself thru it for the sake of this random autistic 26 year old.

White people are miserable, racist losers period. They’ve even been getting mad at Japanese people for correcting them about Yasuke as well.

I want to emphasize something about the dungeon meshi ages.
Tumblr media
So Senshi is 35-36 here, yeah? The dwarven age of maturity is 40, and he’s just shy of it.
When Chilchuck was just shy of his race’s age of maturity, he had a kid and got married. He was 13, and the half-foot age of maturity is 14.
So, developmentally-wise, THIS is how old Chilchuck was when he became a father:
Tumblr media
This is even further emphasized with Izutsumi. She’s 17 (and actually turns 18 during the faligon feast), older than the tallman age of maturity, and still reads VERY immature to the audience. By the time Chilchuck was Izutsumi’s relative age, he was already on his third kid and had moved away from home to the city.
Imagine Izutsumi being a parent of three. Imagine Senshi having a child of his own when he was with the miners.
Like. Chilchuck was young young.

I'm getting so sick of major female characters in historical media being incredibly feisty, outspoken and public defenders of women's rights with little to no realistic repercussions. Yes it feels like pandering, yes it's unrealistic and takes me out of the story, yes the dialogue almost always rings false - but beyond all that I think it does such a disservice to the women who lived during those periods. I'm not embarrassed of the women in history who didn't use every chance they had to Stick It To The Man. I'm not ashamed of women who were resigned to or enjoyed their lot in life. They weren't letting the side down by not having and representing modern gender ideals. It says a lot about how you view average ordinary women if the idea of one of your main characters behaving like one makes them seem lame and uninteresting to you.

im so serious if you cant imagine a single female character u like or you coincidentally only care about men or imagine that women are a different species of human that are impossible to draw or write about or relate to, You are the problem. its not because you’re gay it’s because you do not like women
