Brand me with the title of ‘old fashioned’ but some days I yearn for slower times. I do enjoy the infinite knowledge and all the wonder things technology holds but I wish, for just a moment, when we could just return to candles and parchment. When ink flowed like blood, sketching out handwritten letters to be delivered by foot. The speed of this modern era can drown the human soul in a blinding blue light; brains becoming over-saturated with the anxieties of news and time that comes so quickly.

Beauty has perished in this torrent of instanuous information, humanity has gone blind to diction so delicatly chosen, cheeks precariously painted. Words are so common they lost their meanings. Now they say painter has no profession, canvases and books lay to rot while eyes read off screens. I long to return to a dusty library with printed copies of the most recent stories, walls lined with tales older than anyone bothers to remember. What wonder it is, to lay under a masterpiece and lose yourself in the details and devine brush strokes.

Perhaps it is hypocrisy to dream of such things as I type on a glass keyboard that does not exist.
