I’ve long joked that Python is a slightly demonic programming language, but I just realized — Python, like the serpent of Eden! Python, like Crowley!
Anyway, my new headcanon is that Python is one of Crowley’s demonic innovations, designed to generate low-level discontent and petty bitterness among programmers and scientists around the globe. I cannot be convinced otherwise. (This is possibly the only way I can trick myself into actually appreciating its serpentine wiles.)

#aria rants#by which i mean... how to make one. yea i was hit with the impulsive thought of: what if i make a shimeji of my own oc for myself#and i was fighting for my life getting the editor of the website to work cuz it wont work in firefox#then i went to chrome but its still blank and i was like: okay. lets just search this in google#then i got redirected to reddit. and i had to install java cuz turns out the one my pc had was outdated#and then i downloaded a shimeji which was a lil blob dude. and then i was like: okay. but how do i change that#so i went back to the website. in firefox. cuz the first time it didnt work wasnt enough for me apparently#so i went back to chrome again cuz well it obvs didnt work. then i was like: okay. its an extension for chrome only.#so i went to the extensions to get it. then i went back to the site. the editor is finally working but wait#thats only apparently for the window. so i went back to the file i downloaded. finally read a very obvs text literally named#''readme'' and then i finally partially understood what i had to do to create my own shimeji but i still dont understand it well#so i went back to the reddit faq of it. and finally... understood what i need to do and mygod...#ill... ill get to that someday... it felt like im gonna end up biting more than i can chew with this thing rn like gayum

#tag talk#I feel good cause a new friend at work said something about how my boyfriend hasn't talked much to him since meeting me#And I was like uh oh I do not want to be that bitch#and I know he's been trying to organize some kind of game might and I was like rip you can't get him to play stardew valley with you#and I don't like stardew valley so I was like hey what about minecraft? because if I get them playing together on a realm then It's fixed#so anyway now I might have a new server and friend group to play with and hopefully I'll be less in the way of the preexisting friend group#because I'm really conscious of when I'm the reason stuff goes poorly so I don't wanna be a reason friends don't hang out anymore.#cause that shit sucks. jealous girlfriend type can go die I ain't about hogging people I don't feel good about it.#I just want everyone to get along and be friends#I'm putting in the work to learn bedrock mechanics. that's how committed I am to this. I hate variations on an established base.#it's the autistic in me for sure. I loathe multiple versions of songs. there can only be one true version. one right answer. all else is bad#so the slight discrepancies between bedrock and Java drive me absolutely nuts bonkers up the wall#I read a really good twilight fanfic and it rewired my brain and now I'm forever mixing up which is cannon and which is fanfic#because my brain immediately booted the version I preferred less and installed the new fanfic version as the correct right version#anyway. I'm hunting tutorials that actually explain the mechanics and taking notes so I know how to adjust the designs for aesthetics#because you need the minimum mechanical base to work before you can ad lib a building style and design onto the structural framework#I figured out the iron farm mechanics so tomorrow I think I'm gonna work on gold farm stuff. and redstone I just want to learn myself

man i love the jetbrains ides but they take up soooo much memory i wish they would just rewrite their ides in a native language...
#with some fucking around with settings i've managed to get this minimal python project down to 2GB of memory usage when i have it open in#pycharm but my laptop only has 7GB of ram so i can't have like too many firefox tabs open or whatever while i've got my project open still#i might see if i can open my laptop up and install another stick of ram but idk#i've not bought ram for ages i dunno how spensive it is these days#also i should not have to buy a whole ass extra stick of ram just to use an ide 😭#i could switch to an ide that's not written in java but idk i like the features of the jetbrains ones and also they're what i'm used to#i used visual studio when i was 13 lol but they don't have VS for linux#they only have vs code for linux and if i'm using an editor not a full ide im just using vim

okay so i decided to finally start writing again by writing some fanfiction. But, me being me, what did i decide to use for that? Word? Perhaps google docs? Maybe even email drafts? Writing app on my phone??? Nope. (Okay kinda.)

#there's two nokias in this photo and both are in use because i refuse to throw away working electronic devices#there's also a thrid nokia out of frame that currently isn't in use#but only because it needs to be charged and i don't have the right charger at hand right now#i also am planning to try and see what i can install on the n97 because it does run java programs#and i also used to have whatsapp on there#but the appstore server is defunct so ill have to check by manually installing stuff
